Sky puffed loud when you had kicked him in the chest. He doubled, reaching for his chest with a pained expression. – “You are out of shape Sky.” – you said teasingly, lowering your foot. Sky looked up, wanting to speak, but couldn’t yet. It made you laugh loud. – “Riven would be delighted to hear this.” – you told him as Sky straightened his posture. Having moved his hands to his hip, pointing at you. – “Don’t!” – he replied with a scowl.
It made you hum thoughtfully just to tease him more. Sky groaned grabbing a stick. He let it hit down on you. As a response, you had set your hands high as the stick came in contact with your wrists. – “Nice try darling.” – you moved your head for him to see your silly smirk. – “Sky, Y/n enough training!” – both of you heard. Sky lowered his stick.
Turning around, you straightened your posture at Saul coming your way. – “Good foot work Y/n.” – he whispered to you, patting you on the back. You threw Sky a mockingly smile just to rub it more in his face. Sky rolled his eyes. The other specialists gathered around as Saul had whistled loud. Riven came jogging over, looking all smug.
“Y/n.” – he said throwing an arm around you. Pressing your face close to his chest. – “Riven.” – you mumbled out, feeling squashed in his grip. Punching him in the armpit, he released his grip on you. You took a breather, shooting him a glare. Riven laughed finding himself amusing. Saul cleared his throat to make him stop interrupting. – “It’s time for your assignment.” – Saul explained.
He stepped aside as a group of fairies approached the training grounds. – “You’ve got to be kidding me.” – Riven puffed out, turning annoyed around. – “Scared Riven.” – you teased, tickling him under his armpits. Riven’s body squirmed, making him jump away from you. He gave you an annoyed look. Sky chuckled beside you. Saul snapped his finger to stop your little distraction.
“I’ll assign you your fairy.” – he started. He started pairing up some fairies and specialists. Amongst them stood Stella with her friends. She made brief eye contact with you. Her hand subtle going up to greet you with the smallest of nods. You smiled briefly back at her as response.
“I hope I get paired up with Sky.” – you heard her say to Musa. Musa gave her little attention, throwing glances from afar to Riven. – “Stella.” – Saul called out, making Stella straighten her back. – “Y/n.” – he called out, gesturing to the middle. Stella’s eyes widened as you came to the centre. Bloom had to push her forwards or else she would’ve remained still. Stella and you joined before Saul. Saul nodded at you.
You took Stella by her sleeve, pulling her aside. There you waited for everyone to be paired up. After pairing up gave Saul the subject to start training with each other. You and Stella moved a bit away from the group. – “Sorry I’m not Sky.” – you told her. Stella glanced up to you with a bit of shock in her eyes. Tilting her chin a bit up, her attitude changed.
“It’s better than Riven.” – she answered. – “Ouch.” – you replied hurt by her comment. Stella swallowed nervously, looking down. You had lowered yourself to pick up a fighting stick from the ground. Turning around you handed one to her. Stella stared rather strange at it. – “I’m not touching that.” – she said moving the stick away with one finger.
It made you sigh loud. – “Take it.” – you insisted. Stella crossed her arms. – “In case you forgot Y/n, I have my powers to protect me. I don’t need no sweaty stick.” – she said back cocky. You exhaled deep lowering the fighting stick. – “What if for some reason you can’t rely on them?” – you asked, pulling your shoulders up. Stella scoffed at what you said. You had a bit enough of her attitude. – “I’m here to protect you so maybe cut the whole stuck up princess act!” – you called out.
“It’s not an act, I am a princess.” – Stella replied loud. It made you throw your hands up. Throwing the stick on the ground, you gave up. Walking off, you had quite enough of her. – “Where are you going?” – Stella shouted getting on her toes. You ignored her, continuing to walk away. Stella lowered herself, looking hurt down.
She noticed some other pairings looking at her. It made her feel shy and small. Biting her thumb a bit, she went her own way. At first Stella thought about skipping. But then the guilt came. She felt guilty for acting like that towards you. She decided to change coarse and search for you. She eventually found you at the lunch tables. Stella took a deep breath before walking over.
You quirked your eyebrow up when she came sitting in front of you. – “Does her royal princess require something?” – you said bitsy. – “Y/n.” – Stella replied trying to reason with you. You crossed your arms, leaning back in your chair. Stella took a deep breath. – “I’m sorry.” – she said making you stare curious at her. You noticed how uneasy and vulnerable she felt.
“I…I didn’t mean to be so…” – she started. – “Bitchy?” – you answered for her, making her chuckle. – “Yes that.” – she agreed. – “Great, we agree on one thing.” – you teased seeing her smile. – “We agree on more things Y/n.” – Stella spoke. – “Like what?” – you asked intrigued. – “Like how good looking I am.” – she said making you quirk your eyebrow at her. – “Kidding!” – she laughed out, touching your arm. It didn’t make you laugh, rather just gaze at her.
You took a deep breath, placing your hand on hers. – “Stella, I’m not the one you should be building your walls up to.” – you told her. – “Remember last year?” – you pointed out. Stella nodded, remembering. – “The time I blinded that girl.” – she said looking down. You joined your other hand to hold hers in yours. Your action made her look up to you. – “No, after that.” – you corrected.
Stella smiled saddened at you. – “You were there.” – she said. – “I was there.” – you repeated. – “I was there when you were at your lowest. I kept you going. I made you shine as bright as ever Stella. So… don’t go acting all cold towards me with our history.” – you talked. Stella smiled brighter.
“You are better than Sky.” – she answered. – “You are what I need.” – Stella finished staring at your eyes. You smiled back at her. – “Oh how much better I feel.” – you responded dramatically, making Stella stomp your arm. Laughing loud afterwards. Both of you got up, heading back to the training grounds.
*
You kicked the door open after having heard Stella scream. Her eyes turned to shock when you busted in the room. Your eye immediately fell on her mother. With your batons you went for her mother. Forcing her face down on the desk. Arm between your baton on her back as your other one pressed her back against the desk. – “Y/n!” – Stella called out with tears in her eyes.
“This is the last time that you hurt her!” – you grunted out, pressing her mother’s cheek harder on the desk. Her mother was furious. Squirming under your grip to get free. – “You wait till I am free!” – she threatened. – “Do your worst.” – you responded coldly. Stella stared in shock, hands to her mouth at the display. Her mother raised her hand as Stella caught the faintest of light.
“Y/n!” – she alarmed you. You saw the light as well, quickly pulling back before she could blind you. Your own reaction made you stumble back. Her mother rose, eyes reflecting fury. She pointed her hand at you, casting a blast of light towards you. You fell back against Farah’s bookcase.
Books dropped to the ground with you. Stella gasped loud with tears in her eyes. – “You specialists think you are equal to us!” – she spitted out. Raising her hand as light emerged from it. – “You have just signed your own death.” – she called out. – “No!” – Stella shouted coming to stand in between. Arms wide open. – “Step aside child!” – Her mother casted out.
“No! I won’t let you hurt her!” – Stella defied against her mother. Her mother scoffed amusingly, finding it humorous her daughter would stand up against her. – “I won’t let you touch her!” – Stella replied determined. You looked up amazed to her. Seeing how strong she appeared. Her mother rose her hand either way, ready to cast light at Stella for being in the way.
You got up, wrapping your arms around Stella. Calling it out, you pulled her down with you, before the light could hit her. The light hit the bookcase instead. Making more books drop down. Hitting you and Stella all over.
You had moved your arms around Stella, protecting her. Stella slowly lifted her head, coming close to yours. For a moment the two of you stared at each other. You smiled, brushing your thumb against her cheek. Stella breathed out a smile with tears in her eyes. Her mother scoffed disgusted ready to cast again. You pulled Stella in your embrace to protect her. – “I’m sorry.” – you whispered to her.
Stella hugged you back, tightly. – “Not a word.” – she whispered back. Both of you closed your eyes, waiting for the impact. The door swung open, Farah entering with Saul. Saul launched for Stella’s mother, grabbing her arm and twisting it behind her back. Farah turned to look at you. – “Are you alright girls?” – she asked as Saul escorted Stella’s mother out.
Stella and you stared a bit confused at each other. – “We are.” – Stella spoke with a smile. You helped each other up, embracing one another again.

sky ✿
sky spoils you so much, he treats you like a princess, which is ironic considering he’s a prince.
to him, you’re his world, he’d never do anything to hurt you and he loves you so much.
sometimes, when the two of you are relaxing together, he lets you style his slightly long hair.
speaking of relaxing together, that’s one of his favourite dates, when the two of you just spend time at a cafe, getting a break from the chaotic fairy and specialist duties you usually deal with.
brandon ✿
you were one of the few people to first know that sky and brandon switched names. brandon wanted to be completely honest about the switch and you understood due to sky’s feelings about wanting to try a normal lifestyle.
literally the sweetest boyfriend ever, he treats you so good. he’s so gentle and loving with you, your heart melts every time you’re with him.
he doesn’t get jealous that often and neither do you, the two of you trust each other and have a relationship that’s really built on honesty and loyalty.
riven ✿
no one would’ve thought the two of you would get together, as riven has a high temper and you pretty much have no temper, always calm and relaxed. in fact, the only people that suspected something was going on with the two of you were bloom and sky, they always took notice of the flirty comments and subtle touches between the two of you. however, ever since you’ve announced your relationship with the hotheaded specialist, you’ve been extremely happy with him, and your friends started relaxing exactly how much sense the two of you make.
you’re a balanced couple that occasionally has rough patches, as riven can get really jealous and insecure, but you guys always make it out and your love grows even more. riven loves you and never wants to make you feel less than appreciated.
his favourite date with you consists of literally anything that involves you two being near each other, but he especially loves when you and him help your friends defeat the newest villain. he also loves when you cuddle with him, as he’s really just a softie deep down, constantly wanting to be touching you. he’s a huge fan of pda, unless you’re uncomfortable with it.
helia ✿
you and helia go together so well, no one was surprised when the two of you made your relationship official. your both calm and loving people, quickly becoming one of the best couples out of your friend group.
you love his hair so much. he just lets you run your fingers through his hair and style it into stupid little ponytails and buns, the man not even complaining about it, actually secretly enjoying it.
he’s literally the best boyfriend. he is always at your side when you need comfort and he gives you all his love.
timmy ✿
it took a while for timmy to build up the courage to ask you out, but once he did, you happily said yes.
the two of you are the definition of ‘opposites attract.’ you’re outgoing and a social butterfly, compared to timmy, who’s shy and doesn’t talk to many people aside from his friends.
he isn’t a big fan of pda, but behind closed doors, he’s always wanting to be close to you.

MAIN MASTERLIST
˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚
You have been the second choice for as ling as you can remember. Being the little sister of Stella, you couldn't actually get away from that.
Always being left by friends because the other one got more popular. Always having last to be picked in a group assignment.
Always.
Until one day you didn't feel like that anymore. Until one day you met him.
It's weird honestly, having feelings for your sister's boyfriend's best friend.
That was confusing.
With Riven you always felt like the first choice. The top priority, and not the backup plan.
But all of that went down the drain when he suddenly had this thing with Beatrix.
At first you thought it was just a fling. Although that still hurt you, you thought it was anything but having emotions.
But they got closer, and to anyone, in one glance they could probably say that they're a couple.
You were fiddling with your pen in one hand, the bottom of it hitting softly at your forehead while the other holding your journal, you jotting down your latest feels and adventures. With the soft voice of Conan Gray filled the calm atmosphere.
Everyone was out partying and you chose to stay in your bedroom. It was totally not because you were avoiding someone.
Totally.
Okay fine you were. You didn't want to see the guy you're into sucking faces with another person.
"I still remember," the first verse of the song already made you let out a grunt, the song literally sounded what you felt currently.
But as much as you wanted to turn it off, it was such a heartfelt song that you just couldn't. So you joined in singing it.
"Third of December," you softly sang as you continued to write about what interesting thing has happened in the past week.
"me in your sweater," the lyric made you think about a memory of you and Riven. You just have gotten into a fight with your mother, all the yelling sent your mind into a spiral, you felt like honestly drowning yourself.
It was just too much.
You didn't know why but your legs carried you to Riven and Sky's room. Your nose twitches every so often as the cold air hits you.
You knocked on the door and Riven woke up from his sleep, opening it. It left him slightly baffled to see you with red puffy eyes with tear stains on your cheeks.
The door creaked open and your heart skipped a beat looking at his shirtless figure, with bed hair.
God he looked so good.
He moved to the side to let you in the room, and as you were in, you immediately tackled the boy into a hug.
You're on your tippy toes, arms wrapped around his neck, your nose inhaling his scent.
The scent alone made you calmer but when he securely wrapped his hands around your waist, you felt home.
"You're okay. You're okay." he soothed out as his fingers gently played with your hair.
Sky was out so it's only you two in their room.
Your shaking figure calmed down as he moved you guys to the bed. Softly laying you down.
He noticed how you ran your hands to your arms, trying to get a sense of heat in the chilly atmosphere. So he went to grab his sweater from the closet and hand it to you.
You look up at him confused, "What's this for?" you asked.
"You looked like you were cold." he said, shrugging his shoulders and nudging his sweater closer to you.
"Thanks." you smiled and didn't take down the offer as you quickly wore it. The familiar scent of him filled your nostrils as you sighed in relief, feeling the warmth enveloping you.
"You wanna talk about it?" he asked softly, sitting down beside you on his bed — not wanting to break you more in your already fragile state.
You were too tired to think as you shook your head. "No."
"Alright, you can stay here tonight if you'd like." he nervously offered. As close as you guys are, you didn't actually go past the 'cuddling' stage.
You felt your heartbeat picked up, as you said, "Are you sure? I don't want to be a bother-"
"Yeah I'm sure." he answered quickly, ending your rambling.
You let out a soft 'okay' as you laid back onto his bed. The softness of the mattress invites your sleepiness.
Your body curled up in a ball as you rested on your left side. The bed dipped down indicating Riven moved to lay beside you.
It was awkward for a minute, Riven wanting nothing more than to just hold you close to him, but he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable. So he just laid there staring up at the ceiling.
You were already half asleep as you moved to your other side and curled up with him.
He froze for a second, a lot of thoughts cursing through his head. It was almost like you could feel his stiff figure as you snuggled more into him, arms went to his stomach, your head on his chest.
A loop-sided grin made its way to Riven's face as he relaxed his body, his hand moved to your back drawing circles and having the best sleep in his life.
As the memory faded away, the song already is at it's chorus, "but I watch your eyes as she walks by, what a sight for sore eyes,"
You were so into the song you didn't even realise your bedroom door was open, there stood Riven staring at you in awe.
The boy has never heard you sing before and it blew him away.
"brighter than the blue sky, she's got you mesmerised, while I die," you softly continued as little pricks of tears came on the edge of your eyes.
While you were at your table, Riven moved from his spot and moved to your bed as it creaked, immediately stopping you from singing more.
You jumped up from your spot and was met with Riven staring adoringly at you.
"Do you not know what knocking is?!" you shrieked at him. Mad that he scared you like that and because he caught you singing a song when you were thinking of him.
Riven ignored your little outburst as he said, "Why didn't you tell me you can sing?" with a small smirk on his face.
You sighed, as you answered his question with a question. "What are you doing here?" the edge to your voice was almost unrecognisable but Riven picked that up first thing.
His smile faltered, but he shrugged his shoulders acting like he didn't care. "The party got boring." in all honesty he just missed you, but he wouldn't tell you that.
You clenched your jaw, the second result. Again. "Well, where's Beatrix? Thought she was keeping you company." the tone of your voice dipped with such venom.
From snapping more, you moved around your room picking up clothes that were on the floor to distract yourself.
Riv looked at you, distraught. What did he do? He thought.
He too moved from his spot and went to the table, noticing the book you once held.
You were too angry and pissed to notice him flicking some of the pages.
First it was all about the classes, the colour of the sky, the teacher being annoying.
But one sentence got his eye, it was his name.
okay maybe i do have a teeny weensy crush on riven but that's just it.
it's how it's always been, and nothing is going to change that.
oh my god why am i writing like i'm a̶c̶u̶a̶t̶l̶y actually talking to you.
shit i'm late for class, bye love u.
Riven's eyes widened as his mouth gaped wide open.
The silence disturbed you as you looked back at him, noticing his shocked face, looking into your journal.
The clothes you once held all fell to the floor as you rushed to your table snatching the book away.
"What is wrong with you?!" you finally snapped. The rage and embarrassment bubbling inside you.
"Is it true?" he softly asked, meeting your eyes. You looked away immediately to be ashamed that he found out this way.
"It doesn't matter. You should go." you bitterly spat out, shoving your journal into the edge of the table where no one would think to look for it.
Riven scoffed, "Yeah, it does." he said, moving to stand in front of you.
You hesitantly met his eyes, "No it doesn't." you said to him firmly, almost threatening him to not talk about it any further.
But we all know how stubborn Riven is, he's not going to back down for his life.
"Why didn't you tell me?" he asked harshly.
"And what? For you to just leave me? What would happen? What would happen differently, Riv? Tell me." your voice went louder as the sentence went, your head held highly in front of him.
The tension in the room could be cut with a knife, you didn't even realise you took a step forward. Your chests are almost touching each other.
Your breathing was heavy because all the pent up feelings you have for the boy in front of you coming out like a tidal wave.
The tension was too much for Riven as cupped your face in his hands and connected his lips with yours.
You sharply took an intake of breath, the kiss sent you speechless. But he pulled away before you could even respond.
"That would happen." he breathed out, head fuzzy from the kiss. You don't know how much he has dreamt about kissing you.
"Oh." you stupidly let out, not comprehending the situation at hand.
Riven chuckled as his hands went down wrapping them around your waist.
"Wait, wait what about Beatrix?" you asked, not wanting to be solved as the second choice, again.
"Nothing." he said, staring at you with that look.
"Nothing?" you questioned, raising your eyebrows.
He nodded, "Yeah, nothing. You're my first choice, always." a smile made its way to his lips, loving the feeling of you in his hands.
You grinned and your lips sealed once again. Your hands rest on his chest, him bringing you closer by your waist.
I wish I were heather.

A little danger, pt. 16
Tumblr media
A little danger - Series Masterlist
Pairing: Sky of Eraklyon x mind!fairy
Warnings: angst, fluff, swearing, violence, sexual innuendos, descriptions of blood/wounds/death
———— PART 16 ————
Laying on the bed, Y/N is silently staring at the ceiling as Sky sleeps. She spent hours trying to retrieve his memories, to bring them forth from darkness but it only caused them both pain and nosebleeds. After the fifth try, Sky insisted it was best to stop. Y/N agreed.
For now, at least.
Stella texted her in the morning, letting her know Queen Luna had arrived. Surprisingly, she informed her that the students don’t remember Bloom’s role in Rosalind’s death, but the Queen does. She succeeded to some degree, after all. Not as useless as she believed she was.
The girls will try to convince the Queen to release Bloom later in the day, Stella acting as a layer of defense. The others will find where Farah was buried.
That should go over well.
Part of her wishes she could seek her grave as well, to get some much needed closure, but Sky is here. He’s alive and Farah isn’t and the person who did her harm is already dead, so what is the point. Revenge is off the table, all that remains is sadness and Y/N has plenty of sadness in her life.
Glancing at Sky, she envied how peaceful he seemed. Not even an inkling of worry or heart-wrenching sorrow as he’s asleep. It’s ridiculous, but it angers her. How is it she’s the one saddled with all the rage, sadness, and worries? Somehow, Y/N is meant to take the brunt of this horrible thing that’s happened to them and she will. As long as there’s a chance to bring Sky back, the actual Sky she knows and loves, she’ll take anything life has to offer.
“I feel you staring,” Sky murmurs and she sighs.
“Here we go again.”
“I don’t mind,” he smirks, eyes still closed. “I know I’m easy on the eyes.”
“Is there an off switch for the cockiness?”
Chuckling, he raises his brows and glances at her before his gaze falls to his hardened member. “There might be.”
Rolling her eyes, she gets up. Head in her hands, she groans. “I can’t believe the dick is back.” It felt like they made some progress after their talk last night, but this made her believe it was all an act.
“It’s a natural process,” Sky defends.
“How do you even know that? You remember pizza and morning wood, but I’m not even a footnote?”
Shrugging playfully, he smirks, “Food and their dicks, kind of the most important part of any man’s life.”
Turning away, she pinches the bridge of her nose. “Guess I’m the idiot thinking I was an important part of your life too.”
Heading into the bathroom, she slams the door behind her.
Licking his lips, Sky sits up. “Guess I’ll just…handle it myself.”
Yanking the door open, Y/N glares at him. “If you jerk off anywhere near my bed I will lobotomize you!”
Rolling his eyes, Sky scoffs. “You’re all bark and no bite.”
Filled with anger, Y/N’s eyes glow with a soft, violet light. Sky cocks his head at her determined expression, raising his eyebrows as she extends her hand toward him. As if caught in a gentle breeze, he feels himself lifted from the ground, his body floating weightlessly in the air. Holding his breath, he looks down, marveling at the realization.
“I’m flying!”
Clicking her tongue, she scowls before pushing him against a wall. “Actually, I’m biting.” Adding light pressure to his neck, she smirks. “I’m not one to be played with.”
Instead of fear, a sense of wonder fills Sky’s heart as he gazes at Y/N. The way she commands the room, the tempered way she speaks even in anger, and the gentleness of her power despite his arrogance is mesmerizing. He’s captivated by the purple hue surrounding her, wishing she’d release him and allow a single touch just so he knows he’s not imagining things and this is real. That she is real.
When she finally lowers him to the floor, he lands with a soft thud, his eyes never leaving hers. Without any words, he closes the distance between them, cupping her face with a tenderness she missed greatly.
“I’m not playing with you, I promise.” Licking his lips, Sky’s eyes flicker to hers for mere seconds before focusing on the remnants of purple in her gaze. It’s dear to his heart despite reason, as if it speaks to some part of his soul he’s lost.
Swallowing thickly, she closes her eyes. “It hurts.” Returning his gaze, she sighs. “You have no idea…the weight of what we lost last night is suffocating me. And you’re here, but not really. Sky, you’re a stranger with a fascination, not the man who loves me.”
“You can reverse it,” he shrugs meekly as her hands pull his away from her face. “You’ll bring me back to who I was and it will be fine.”
Looking away, she covers her mouth and he realizes she’s holding back tears. “Would you want that?”
“What do you mean?”
Letting out a heavy breath in response, she sits on her bed. “A lot has happened to you Sky. A lot that I know you’d rather not have to deal with. Maybe that would be the best thing for you?”
Frowning deeply, he shakes his head lightly. “That can’t be true.”
“It is,” she responds instantly. “I’ve never seen you this carefree before, not since we were kids!”
Getting on his knees, he rests his hands on her thighs carefully, as if awaiting her reaction. “You say I loved you.”
Nodding, her lips quiver. He’s right before her, he’s touching her and his eyes are filled with confusion. Somehow, she’s managed to break him in less than 24 hours…he was a clean slate, happy! If he went with Stella, he’d still be content instead of lost like a child.
“If I loved you as much as you say, I don’t think any amount of heavy shit that would come with loving you would matter.”
“You only say that because you can’t remember what it was. It broke you. I broke you.”
Before Sky can say anything, his phone rings, startling them both.
“What the fuck is that?”
Taking the phone from his jacket, Y/N answers, putting it on speaker.
“You’re calling a guy who has no memories. That’s a new level of stupid even for you.”
“Figured you’d fix him by now with your fairy shit,” Riven remarks. “Saul’s calling all the specialists. The Solarians found Sebastian’s hideout. It’s not far from here.”
“And he clearly left Sky out for obvious reasons.”
“His memory might be wiped, but his muscles remember the training,” he clarifies. “We have to take these guys out. End this war before it begins. If he’s capable of fighting, he should come.”
“How do I know if I can fight?” Sky asks, ignoring the disgruntled look on her face.
“Have Miss Sunshine bring you down and we can check it real fast.”
“I don’t think this is a good idea. Saul won’t let him come anyway,” Y/N insists. “Even if he can fight, he has no idea what he’s fighting.”
“Blood witches are evil, control people like puppets whilst enjoying killing us and the fairies. There, now he knows.”
Grimacing, Y/N shakes her head. “It’s too dangerous. If he’s coming, I’m coming too.”
“No!”
“No!”
Raising her brows, she sets her lips in a thin line. “Since when do either of you think you have any choice in the matter?”
“Since they nearly took your magic last time, which would have given them all the power they need to kill us all!”
“Listen,” Y/N licks her lips, “I’ll bring Sky, but if he goes with you, I’m not staying behind. So, it’s really your choice.”
Once they got to the grounds, Y/N was hoping Sky wouldn’t show any physical capabilities. If he was just an ordinary man, he’d stay with her away from the fight. This would make her life so much easier, she’d be able to breathe again and maybe find a way to have him fall in love with her all over again – without the memories of their past that so deeply affected their lives. She’d force herself to let it all go and just enjoy him as he is, to truly live this time around.
But that didn’t happen.
Sky successfully blocked every attack Riven utilized against him, having Riven pinned to the ground so effortlessly that it seemed as if he was better at this than before.
“He’s coming with us,” Saul states. “He’s perfectly capable of fighting, and you can do the same here.”
“What?”
“Bloom is gone, Y/N. Her sentence is harsh and she’s out of the picture for now.” Staring at Sky throwing Riven over his shoulder, Saul shrugs. “Unless you save her.”
“But Sky –“
“Will be with me. I will keep him safe as I’ve always done in the past.”
Wrapping a protective arm around Y/N, Saul kisses her temple. “Queen Luna is a powerful fairy, but your power is ancient. She can’t fight you and Bloom openly, so she’s manipulating events to take you out of the game one by one.” Giving her a pointed look, Saul raises his brows. “Do not let her.”
Glancing at Sky, Y/N nods. “I have to talk to him first.”
“I understand.”
“And if something happens to him, Saul, I swear to you I will burn The Otherworld to the ground.”
Despite the severity of her threat, Saul smiles. “I’d help you.”
Shielding her eyes from the sun, she draws in a shuddered breath as catches Sky’s gaze on her. It wasn’t an accidental glance or a shy glimpse, he was staring at her unapologetically as if he knew she was undeniably his.
Yours truly.
Sky frowns in confusion, rubbing his forehead. His eyes widen slightly before putting his shirt on, hastily walking toward her.
“I’ll leave you to it,” Saul taps her shoulder, reassuring her he will protect Sky.
With his shortened breathing, Sky places his hands on his hips. Towering over her, he quirks an eyebrow. “You know, I could have sworn I heard you just now.” There’s a flicker of uncertainty in his eyes, a glimmer of bewilderment dancing in the blue-green depths. “But your lips weren’t moving,” he manages a wry smile. “More like…your voice echoed in my head? Does that make any sense?”
A pang of guilt tugs at her heartstrings, her lips parting slightly. “Yes,” she sighs. Biting her lower lip, she struggles to find the right words to express her remorse because she’s done it again – Sky hated intrusions of this sort, so how does she explain she messed up without him running from her.
“I’m sorry,” she decides an apology would be most sincere. “It’s not a conscious thing most times. Seems like it happens with you often though, I still don’t know why.” Pinching the bridge of her nose, she turns away from him.
Curling his fingers around her wrist, Sky turns her to face him. There’s a subtle, but undeniable intimacy in the gesture, one that sends a shiver of warmth coursing through her veins. “Don’t turn away from me like that. Okay? I don’t like it. In fact, I really don’t like when you decide how I perceive things. I don’t know how I reacted to stuff before, but it doesn’t mean I’m going to be the same. You said it yourself, I’m a stranger right now, so don’t assume I’ll go off the rails about things I don’t even remember.”
In response, she moves her hand, mirroring his gesture, holding onto his wrist, their position resembling the solemnity of making an unbreakable vow.
“I’ll stop assuming,” she promises. “I’m sorry I keep projecting all my problems and insecurities onto you. I think I’ve always done that and it’s exactly why we broke up.”
“See, some things are best left forgotten. I don’t really want to remember that. Sound painful as fuck.”
Pursing her lips, she tugs at the zipper of his jacket with her free hand. “Yeah. It is.”
Narrowing his eyes at her, he cocks his head ever so slightly. “What is it?”
“Hm?”
“You’re trying to say something. Just say it.”
Exhaling as she smiles, Y/N drags her palm into his hand, holding it tightly. “Saul wants you to go with them. He’s the closest thing both of us have to a father. I trust his judgment.”
Raising his eyebrows, he chews his lips. “Alright. That’s a good thing, isn’t it?”
Nodding, she forces a smile. She has to be strong and project confidence and assurance for Sky’s sake, but there’s nothing other than anxiety in her heart.
Her lips curve upwards, but the smile doesn't reach her eyes. It's a facade, a mask she wears to hide her true emotions. She can feel the tension radiating off Sky, his sharp gaze probing her facade, searching for the truth hidden beneath her carefully constructed facade.
“I won’t be coming with you.”
“Oh.” Inhaling sharply, he nods. “Well, that’s understandable. You’re a fairy, I’m the specialist. Riven made it pretty clear my role is to protect fairies.”
Summoning all her strength, she steadies her trembling breath and nods in affirmation. “That’s the bare basis of it. But there are layers to it. Plenty of layers, especially for us.”
“Peel a few for me before I leave?”
Cupping his cheek tenderly, she holds her breath as he leans into her palm. “I’m your fairy, Sky. It’s not just a random pairing they made in class, we are connected in a deeper way. When we have to defend each other, we are deadly.”
“Do others have their fairy?”
“Some do,” she shrugs. “It’s a rare thing.”
“Are other fairies joining this fight?” Sky tightens his hold on her as she shakes her head.
“Mind fairies are the only ones effective against Blood witches, but we don’t have many at this school. One of my friends lost her magic the last time we faced them…I nearly lost mine and we cannot afford mine to be taken away, no matter how much I wish it.”
As the words sink in, Sky's eyes widen in disbelief, his mind struggling to comprehend the gravity of what Y/N has just revealed. For a moment, he is frozen in stunned silence, his heart clenching with a mixture of shock and anguish.
“You wish for that?” He can't fathom the idea of Y/N willingly giving up her magic, the very essence of who she is. It's as if she's offering to sacrifice a part of herself, a fundamental aspect of her identity, and the thought fills him with a profound sense of sorrow.
“Why would you –“ With a heavy heart, Sky reaches out to Y/N, his fingers trembling as they brush against her cheek. He searches her eyes, silently pleading for her to reconsider, to see the beauty and wonder of her magic in the way he does. He’s barely seen a fraction of it and he’s already hooked.
Riven’s voice interrupts the exchange. “Get your ass going! We are leaving!”
“We’re not done talking about this,” Sky states firmly, but there is a glimmer of understanding, a flicker of empathy for the pain that must be driving Y/N to such drastic measures. He can see the weariness etched into her features, and in that moment he realizes that wish stems from a place of profound desperation - a longing to be at peace. If he’s part of the reason, then he can’t imagine what a dick he truly is to have her questioning this beautiful part of her soul he’s inexplicably drawn to.
“NOW”, Riven shouts.
Huffing, Sky frowns as she pulls away from him. “Stay safe,” she smiles.
Come back to me.
Glancing over his shoulder, he drags a hand across his face before accepting the sword Riven holds out for him. “We’re coming back in one piece, right?”
Riven scoffs, “I sure hope so.”
Watching them drive off, only catching a small wave from Sky, Y/N feels as if her heart might give up. They’re not good apart, especially not in a fight. Together they survive, but apart? It’s never a good thing.
“Now that they’ve gone, could you spare a few minutes for me?”
Y/N's breath catches in her throat as she lays eyes on Farah, her mind struggling to process the impossible standing before her. A ghost of her past in the flesh, returning to haunt her.
“This isn’t real.” Shock and disbelief wash over Y/N in waves, leaving her trembling and disoriented. She blinks rapidly as if trying to dispel the illusion before her eyes, but Farah remains steadfast and real, a reassuring smile playing on her lips.
“I’m here.”
Unable to find the words to express the emotions raging within her, Y/N simply reaches out to Farah, her hand trembling as it brushes against her arm. It's a gesture of disbelief, a wordless acknowledgment of the miracle that stands before her. Embracing her, she lets the tears flow freely.
Holding her tightly, Farah runs a soothing hand over her back. “I’m sorry darling, but we don’t have much time.”
Pulling away, sniffling, she frowns. “What does that mean? I just got you back!”
“You didn’t. Not truly.” Brushing away her tears, Farah smiles sweetly. “I did not survive the attack. When I realized what Rosalind was going to do, I drew on as much magic as I could, and called on the natural world to preserve me.”
With trembling lips, Y/N shakes her head. “I don’t have long, but I do have time for one final lesson. For both you and your friends.” Farah turns around, waving her hand lightly. The girls followed shortly after, forming a tight circle. Bloom’s with them, much to Y/N’s confusion. Didn’t Saul say she was gone? Isn’t that the reason she was told to stay behind?
“When I was your headmistress, I shielded you from the harsh truths of the world. I believed that positive emotions were the cornerstone of powerful magic. Rosalind felt the opposite. That strength was only forged in those harsh truths. We were both wrong. To unlock true magic, you must make peace with all your emotions. The reckless joy of the positive and the despair of the negative. There is beauty and power in both. I'm so proud of each of you. And of the women you're becoming.”
Tucking her hair behind her ears, Y/N folds her arms. “Using my emotions in my magic has only ever caused others to get hurt. It’s not that simple.”
“Y/N, shall we take a walk?”
Walking toward the woods, Y/N grumbles. “Are you sure it’s not Bloom you meant to invite?”
Farah chuckles. “Bloom has gotten all the wisdom she needed from me. You still need a little more.”
“It’s always been this way,” Y/N remarks. “She’s the star pupil, even when she sets someone on fire. I’m the one needing extra lessons and work no matter what I do.”
“Darling, you’ve got it all wrong.” Farah stops. “The reason you needed extra care is because you’ve locked yourself in a shell out of fear. You’ve been so afraid of your powers, hating it, running from its potential, but this kind of power can’t be locked away. The shell cracks eventually and you have extremely powerful magic escaping it in terribly, uncontrolled ways. Y/N, what happens when a dam begins to break?”
“The water trickles through the cracks, slowly at first…but then there are all these pressure leaks that increase the speed damage to the structure of the dam…and when it breaks and the water comes out all at once, it’s certain to take out everything in its vicinity.”
Tilting Y/N’s chin with her index finger, Farah smiles. “Don’t you understand? You’ve created a dam that’s breaking and instead of letting the river run free, in its natural state, you’ve created a dam and pressure leaks, and when it breaks entirely, it will annihilate everything.”
Clenching her jaw, Y/N trains her gaze on her feet. “So I’ll explode one day...like I always thought?”
“It’s never too late to detonate,” Farah wraps an arm around her, moving her forward as they continue the walk. “Embrace your emotions, even the ugly ones. The fear, the anger, the grief, all of it is a part of you and you are in control. Those emotions do not control you or your magic, not if you don’t let them.”
Biting her lower lip mercilessly, Y/N looks up at Farah. “I’ve been so angry at you. So, so angry.”
“You couldn’t have known –“
“I’m a mind fairy, I should have seen it! If I was in control, I’d have known…maybe I could have even stopped it.”
Grabbing her by the shoulders, Farah frowns. “Stop! You are very powerful, darling, but you’re not all-powerful. There are things we can’t see coming, no matter how hard we try. You can’t save everybody. It doesn’t work like that. Don’t ever blame yourself for what happened to me…I don’t.” Pressing a kiss to her forehead, Farah sighs. “You are my favorite student. I know you’re afraid of your power, but you have to use it. One way or another, those you love will need you to fight.” Offering a smile, she takes a step back. “I believe in you. You have the power to protect this realm, to save it from those who wish chaos upon it.”
“Rosalind said something similar to Bloom once,” Y/N presses her lips in a thin line.
“How about this, then? Don’t think about saving the world. Focus on saving your world. When you have that in your heart, you can’t go wrong.”
Sniffling, she nods. “You waited until they were gone. He would have loved to see you.”
“Saul would understand. Our friendship was dear to me, you can tell him that.”
Lifting her head to the sky, Y/N wipes the tears slowly forming their path on her cheeks. “I hate saying goodbye.”
“I’m glad we have the chance to do it properly,” Farah wraps her arms around her, letting her cry while the sun goes down. As the last ray of light dies down, Y/N’s arms wrap around herself, realizing Farah is gone…this time for good.

"You're going to help me find someone, Y/N." Hope stated. She sounded so sure of her request, that it would be pointless for Y/N to argue, but he did it anyways.
"And why the hell would I ever want to help you? After what you did to Josie and Lizzie's father. What you did to Silva. Forget it, Hope." Y/N said.
Hope smiled. "I'll repeat myself. You're going to help me... Or I kill live-action Ken doll."
They both knew what she was referring to. To Sky. If Y/N refused to help her, she'd take it out on Sky. Immediately, Y/N felt this wave of anger, fear, and nausea. "You stay the fuck away from him, Hope." Y/N's eyes flashed light blue as ice forms a pair of fairy wings on his back.
Hope's smile widened. "No need to show off, Y/N. I know you're powerful. Which why this is going to be so much fun. Causing so much chaos and pain together."
"Who are you looking for anyways?"
"Landon's brother. Clarke."

Too Far Gone
He hated it, the power she held over him. That she'd never needed her magic to see into the poisoned depths of him. The pressure that never seemed to escape the cage of his ribs. The ache, worse than any blade that had pierced his skin. Worse than any broken bone or wound from a Burned One.
And yet he loved it. That the never-ending pain only ever dulled when he was with her.

For the three sentence fic... Silrah + fake dating/marriage pretty please 💜
Well ... I was going to write just the one, but I can't pick between them, so have a stab at each? 💙 It was so tempting to write one of these as a canon AU but I felt like that would have been cheating. 😂
Fake Dating:
She knows she gives herself away as soon as the familiar manse looms into view, though she’s pretty sure Saul would have known even absent the reflexive tightening of her fingers on his arm with how long they’ve been friends, even if he gives no sign of the pain he must feel at her death-grip, just shifting so his shoulder knocks companionably against hers in silent acknowledgement and sympathy; when she loosens her hand once more he slips his arm free, and she thinks he’ll move away but he only slides it around her waist instead, palm curving warm and solid and reassuring over her hip, and her startle this time has nothing to do with memories of a life she’d gladly walked away from suddenly slamming into her with the weight of all of her years away.
“Alright?” he murmurs, voice near as warm as his touch, and some of the tension ratcheting through her eases as she is reminded of why she’d asked him to come with her, the easy comfort of his presence steadying her in a way no one else can — why, in a moment she does and does not regret already, she’d added and could you pretend to be my boyfriend?, when it meant he could not only accompany her for what promises to be an excruciating family reunion but stay close, just like this, through all that she knows awaits her.
There’s a world she’s not ready to face again behind that imposing front door, but she’s got him at her side, and they’re armed with a pretence she hopes will prevent at least some of the questions she wants to avoid, and so the smile she offers him is less forced than fond; with that, surely she can weather anything the day throws at her, and so she just threads her fingers into his belt loop and leans closer still to murmur an affirmative as they start up the stairs.
Fake Marriage:
“I don’t believe you,” he persists, and Farah rolls her eyes, surreptitiously searching for an exit as she does so; inconsiderately, none appears, and she damns again the distraction that left her backed into a literal corner by a man just drunk enough to belligerently call out the ring she wears to fend off most would-be partners when she just wants a relatively quiet night of drinking — a ring that has done her more harm than good this evening, when it’s been the cause of what is shaping up to be an ugly altercation.
A hand settles on his shoulder; a face dimly familiar looms in shadow behind him, and her frown clearly telegraphs enough because he turns, ready to protest further, only to be pushed out of the way. “Farah, love,” her unexpected saviour says as he extends his other hand her way, and she’s suddenly more grateful for the support of the wall at her back than his intervention as she recognises dark hair and pale eyes and that self-deprecating smile, properly registers the even more familiar voice, and a past long dead floods back, “I wondered where you’d gotten to.”

You dropped your bag on the grass by the training platform. Riven and Dane practicing. You watched them as Riven punched Dane to the ground. Out of breath walked he to the edge where you stood. – “Come to enjoy the show sis?” – Riven said moving his hands out. You scrunched your nose, shaking your head, hands on your lower back. – “It wasn’t really a show was it.” – you pointed out.
Dane sat up backing your sass up with a loud ‘ooh’. – “Shut up!” – Riven called out, looking over his shoulder. You held your arms up wanting your brother to help you up. Riven sighed soft helping you on the platform. You motioned to them to attack you. – “You serious?” – Riven chuckled out. – “Pretty much.” – you replied with a bit of attitude. Dane and Riven shared a brief glance. – “Alright, you asked for it Y/n.” – Riven said readying himself. He brought his fists up as Dane did the same.
Riven punched at you as you pushed his hand away. Then Dane’s approaching punch. Riven moved his elbow your way as you blocked it. Dane came in with another punch as you easily deflected it. Riven turned as he kicked his leg at you. You blocked it with both arms. Dane attacked you as you grabbed a hold of his wrist, pulling him down.
He took a full spin, needing to catch his balance before he would tumble down. Your brother struck his arm at you as you blocked it. You then took it, twisting it over your head as you spun around. His arm twisted now. You held Dane on a distance by kicking at him. It hit him right in the stomach as he stumbled to the ground. Riven gave your arm a punch, realizing your grip a bit.
He took your arm, twisting it behind your back. You kicked backwards creating a bit of distance between him. Silva walked across letting his gaze go over to the platform where he observed from afar. Pulling your arm away, spun you back around to face him. You swept your leg in the air as Riven ducked underneath it. You gave him a kick, hitting his fists close to his chest. He stumbled back, readying his fists once more as you lowered your hands with a cheeky smile.
He dropped his hands as well. – “I knew you’d improve.” – he complimented catching his breath. Dane joined you, breathing out loud. – “I heard you were good at taking on two guys at once.” – Dane commented. As a reaction kicked you him in the chest. He doubled with a loud grunt. Silva chuckled a laugh out, lowering his gaze.
Riven gave you a fist bump. He then threw his arm around you. You spotted Silva taking his leave as it intrigued you. A mischievous smile curling up. You spun from underneath his arm, letting your hand rest on his shoulder to give him a quick kiss on the cheek. – “See you around Riven.” – you said. Riven watched you jump off the platform, picking your bag up from the ground. You started running over the field to where Silva had gone.
He headed back to Alfea. You ran as fast as you could to keep up with him but also stay out of sight. Silva entered the building as you slowed down. You entered as well, shutting the door silently behind you. You didn’t want Silva to know you were coming. You snuck closer to the corner, having a peek behind it. There he was walking slowly. You let your bag down onto the ground, running up to him. You called it out as you were about to tackle him.
Saul grabbed your wrist, throwing you onto the ground over his shoulder. You landed on your back, chuckling in pain. Saul on his knee beside you. – “Oh come on I had you!” – you said still laying down. Saul shook his head with a smile. – “For one, your battle cry gave you away.” – he commented. You held your hand out. Saul took it, assisting you up to your feet.
“But that was good practice, you should keep those surprise attacks up. It keeps you alert.” – he said with a smile. Saul and you were gazing at each other as he still held your wrist. He cleared his throat, letting go of you. – “I…I should go.” – he stated looking nervously around. You turned around to follow his movement, watching him take his leave. It made you sigh soft admiring him from behind.
Saul looked briefly over his shoulder, catching you staring hopelessly at him. He lowered his gaze, looking forwards once more. You turned around heading for the other direction. On your way you collected your bag, going back outside. There you took a deep breath. Was this how it always would be? Too scared to admit what both of you felt inside. At first you just thought it was some fairy myth a hopeless romantic had come up with. Yet it wasn’t just a myth anymore. You had felt it with Saul. Both of you knew that you were each other’s soulmate.
It was as pure as crystals. You didn’t know why it was this secret or awkward between the two of you. Perhaps it was because he was your instructor and you one of his students? You decided to clear your head, going across the green field. You crossed over to the woods wanting to be as far away from school as possible. In the woods stumbled you across the stone circles known where the fairies showed their magic as first years.
You came sitting down in front of a large stone, your hand ruffling through your hair with a deep sigh. The hearing of twigs snap under a shoe made you startle. You jumped up ready for any surprise attacks. From between the trees emerged a specialist. You lowered your hands, easing your stance. – “Oh it’s you.” – you called out recognizing him but not really knowing his name. He widened his eyes brief at you, not thinking anyone else would be here.
He walked closer as both of you felt the awkwardness grow. – “Hey… aren’t you Riven’s sister?” – he suddenly asked cutting through the silence. – “I am.” – you responded taking a step back. He nodded looking around to the ground. – “Uhm… I wasn’t aware anyone would come here too…” – you said sheepishly. – “Yeah… I didn’t think I’d find you here.” – he answered with a chuckle.
He went around the stone circle as you kept a close eye on him. – “I…uhm… I can leave if you like. I am honestly not doing anything here so…” – you explained to him. – “I can’t say for sure what you intended to do here but I for one had no plans.” – you added. – “Me neither.” – he spoke back. You backed away bumping against the stone as he approached you.
Saul ventured through the woods to clear his mind. He came to a pause, hearing voices. One clear voice that he recognized anywhere. Yours. He also heard another male voice, making him frown. Silva decided to seek out what was occurring. He came to a sudden stop seeing you by the stones. Staring with a mixture of jealousy and disgust. Something overtook him as he stormed over. He grabbed the guy by his shoulder, pulling him firm away from you.
“Saul!” – you called out with a startle. – “Are you alright?” – he asked you, touching your elbow. – “Yes! Why wouldn’t I be?” – you responded confused. – “I thought… he… I saw…” – he blurted out confused, taking a step back. He looked over his shoulder to the specialist. – “I thought he was… I swear I saw him… you…” – he breathed out, unbale to control his emotions. – “What? Saul nothing happened.” – you reassured him. You pulled at his vest, forcing him to look at you.
“He just wanted me to give this back to Riven!” – you said, showing him the earplugs in your hand. – “Apparently Riven had left it in his dorm after a party. I knew he was looking for it but couldn’t find it. He just gave it back to me since I am more likely to see my brother than him.” – you explained. Saul blinked confused, exhaling long. You let go of him lowering your hands. Saul turned around calling out loud. – “Go!” – The specialist nodded, taking a run for it.
You crossed your arms, quirking your eyebrow up. – “Did you really think something else was occurring?” – you asked. Saul swallowed, looking guilty away. You gave him a hard push against his shoulder. – “I can’t believe you would think I would flirt with someone else!” – you shouted pissed. – “I’m sorry Y/n… I…It just looked suspicious from where I was standing.” – Saul responded. – “I would never do that!” – you called out, punching him in the armpit once more.
Saul grunted in pain, taking the blow. – “In case you forgot you are my soulmate, Saul. You are what I breath, no one else.” – you made clear to him. – “I know… I know Y/n. I have not forgotten that.” – he answered letting his hands rest on your arms. – “Then why does it feel like you do… do…do you regret that it is me?” – you lowered your gaze with pity. Feeling as if you had failed him. That you weren’t what he wanted. – “No!” – he yelled out, grabbing your arms firmly. – “No… not one bit Y/n.” – he confessed. You took a deep breath looking up to him. – “Saul… I can’t keep up with this… the secrecy…” – you said. – “I know… me neither…” – he responded letting his forehead rest against yours.
His hands ventured up your arms to your cheeks. – “I love you Y/n. That will never change.” – he whispered letting his gaze go from your eyes to your lips. Your eyes went down to his lips as well, the urge to kiss him out of control. Saul tilted his head a bit to the side, cupping your cheeks. He closed his eyes, lips inches away from yours. You leaned in as well, eyes still open. Your expression hardened as you took a hold of his arm. You tackled him to the ground since he was off guard. Silva fell down, groaning in pain.
“Yes!” – you called out. – “I got you!” – you cheered. Saul chuckled at how you had tricked him. – “Not so sly on your feet are you now?” – you teased with a cheeky smile. Saul sat down, grabbing your wrist. With one swift pull stumbled you down onto him. He fell backwards onto the ground, your weight on him. You squealed loud when he rolled you over, coming to lay on top of you.
Both his hands holding you down by your wrists. – “You were saying.” – he said with a smirk. – “That I still out best you.” – you spoke. – “Is that what you want me to say? That you are a remarkable quick study, That you bring originality to training.” – he answered smiling. – “Yeah, I want you to say all those things and more.”  - you responded with a bit of sass. Saul stared down at you. – “Good day Y/n.” – he spoke getting up and pulling you up by your wrists.
“That’s it?” – you called out as he took his distance from you. He stood with his back to you, trying to hide his smile. – “Guess I’ll just have to call that guy back, maybe he can…” – you didn’t have to finish your sentence as Saul had turned around. Grabbing you firm as he pressed his lips onto yours. You threw your arms around him, leading the kiss to a passionate one.

Begin Again (Part 9)
"Talk about the devil," her brother remarked, nodding towards the figure at the entrance. "That's definitely my cue to leave!"
And he hurried off in quick footsteps.
She approached him, smiling but a bit puzzled.
"I thought I'd check on you after today's events," he began.
"That's very considerate of you, Riven. You didn't have to," she said appreciatively.
"As crazy as this is going to sound, I care. I can only imagine what happened this evening, so I had to make sure to check on you," he replied sincerely.
"That's very sweet. I am fine. Thank you for taking the time to do that, especially after the hectic day you must have had yourself. You're a good friend," she replied warmly.
He chuckled nervously. "Friend... yeah. Well, this friend saw some pretty ugly shits this evening, and thought he might just take a another big risk before the next attack. We never know, I could run out of luck."
She frowned, puzzled. "I needed to make sure you know that I will fix whatever is going on. I guess it's a fucked-up way to teach me a lesson, but I am going to fight for you. Even if all our memories together are gone from your memory, even if I get erased, I will find a way to get back to normal. Our normal... now that sounded completely insane," he laughed, and she joined in.
"It absolutely did! And to be honest, I am not sure I understand" she admitted.
"Just try to remember that I love you, (Y/N)" he blurted out.
The silence hung heavily. "Your timing is very bad" she said with a low voice.
"And technically, you love me." He added
"You don't say..." she quickly responded, she wanted out of the awkward situation, and passing him, but she stopped abruptly upon hearing his next words.
"And, icing on the cake: You and I, we are dating! Or at least, we were... it's complicated."
"I can see that." She turned to face him
"I broke up with you."
"May I ask why?" she said in a harsh tone, feeling strangely hurt by the revelation
"Honestly, I'm not even sure anymore..."
"Are you doing this because you want closure?" She questioned her heart tightening, and accelerating. But she could not understand why. Could he be telling the truth? Why couldn’t she remember?
"No! I mean, honestly, this situation is fucking confusing..."
"You're a nice guy, Riven. But communication doesn't seem to be your forte. I'm going to assume this was a drunk conversation," she concluded, then turned and left for good.
As she approached her suite, she noticed a shadow at the door.
"This might be creepy, but I was hoping to see you before turning in," Zane greeted her.
"Zane, hey. You didn't have to. Funny, someone had the same idea."
"Oh. Someone I know?"
"Let's not go down that road... it's too late for heavy conversations."
"Well, let's not talk then," he smiled, opening his arms. "Sometimes all you need is a hug. And you look like you could use one right now."
She contemplated it for a moment before accepting. It felt nice—his strong yet gentle arms, his calm and soothing heartbeat, his regular warm breath on her head. It was pleasant yet oddly unsettling. As if this comforting moment was somehow wrong. For now, she decided to push those feelings aside. She was tired, emotionally stirred by her earlier conversations: her brother's warning and Riven's strange revelations had left her feeling on edge. So, she welcomed this support.
Zane started to rub her back and then her arms slowly and tenderly. She relaxed, wrapping her arms around his waist, savoring the moment. How could this be wrong? His lips brushed against her forehead, and he gave her a gentle kiss. She shifted her body slightly, just enough to look up. Only a few inches separated their faces, their noses almost touching. His eyes admired her features, eventually moving to her lips. With no opposition from her, he leaned in.
Her mind got hazy for a moment, enjoying the softness of his lips on hers, warm and gentle. She opened her eyes and gently pushed on his torso, creating some space between them. They gazed at each other, both smiling.
She broke the silence first. "I'm sorry. We have a rule about boys staying over that prevents me from asking you to stay the night..."
"Well, we could go to my dorm? Nothing frisky, I swear. It's just that... it would be such a shame to walk away right now," he suggested.
She laughed before agreeing. Before leaving together, she slipped into her room to grab some essentials for the next day.

── ⋆⋅☆ main masterlist
YOU WERE RUDELY WOKEN UP BY THE ANNOYING SOUND OF KNOCKS IN THE ONCE CALM AND QUIET ATMOSPHERE. You didn't want to wake up. The position you're in was too comfortable.
Maybe my roommates will get it. Please go get it. I'm so not going to get it.
But they didn't, the knocking just became more and more louder.
"Someone go fucking get that!" your roommate lazily scolded.
You did what anyone else did, pretended to be asleep.
"I know some of you lazy asses aren't asleep!" she continued.
"Y/N GO GET THAT!"
"WHY ME?" you whined.
"It's probably you're fucking boyfriend!"
"Fine." you sighed and stood up, thinking that it was probably true, it's not the first time someone came knocking at freaking one in the morning.
You started walking to the front door, not noticing the wall, hitting right at it. "Shit." you cursed, rubbing your forehead.
"Did you just run into a wall?" your other roommate joked quietly.
"Yup." you responded. Your eyes squinted trying to get a better vision of the door, using the moonlight as guidance.
You would open the lights, but that would wake up more people and you're too lazy for that.
The knocking became more aggressive and you whispered yelled, "Coming!"
You got to the front door and opened it slowly and there revealed your drunk and crying boyfriend hanging from his best friend's shoulders.
"BABY!" Riven yelled excitedly which made you come out and cover his mouth while quickly shutting the door.
"What the hell?" you whispered angrily at Sky who was barely holding Riven up.
Riven's eyes stare up adoringly at you. You have your hair in a loose bun, with all some of your hair coming out from different directions. You were wearing a sweater which is actually his, the sight brought a stupid grin on his face.
He thinks you look so gorgeous. An actual angel.
Sky's shoulders slumped in relief at the sight of you and started rambling, "He got drunk and said he will light the school on fire if I didn't bring him to you for cuddles and I said no but he started getting emotional and I just-"
You cover your hands to your face and let out a tired chuckle, "Sky it's okay."
Sky sighed relieved and nodded at Riv, "Come on, I'll take him to your bedroom."
"No it's fine I got it." you assured Sky, he looks so tired and you felt guilty, so you told him to go to his room and get some rest.
He muttered a small thanks and left your dorm going to him.
You looked at Riv and noticed his adoring stare at you, his stare was so intense it brought butterflies to your stomach no matter how tired and mad you are at him.
"Let's go." you said taking his hand and slowly taking him into your room.
Riv followed you like a lost puppy. His eyes were red and his cheeks had some tear stains on them, his hair was in the same condition as yours.
When you reached your room, he wrapped his arms around your waist and snuggled his head in the crook of your neck leaving soft butterfly kisses on your skin.
You shivered, his fingers creating a track of fire everywhere he touched.
Before things could escalate more you turned around meeting his eyes. His hands lazily plant on your waist, yours on his chest.
He gave you one of those signature Riven smirks that makes you weak to your knees.
Before you could say anything he blurted out, "I love you."
Your mind short-circuited for a second. Out of the whole month you two were together, the word love wasn't even used once.
Of course you love him, but you didn't know how to tell him. It's Riven for goodness sake, what if he bailed the second he hears the word love?
"You're drunk Riv, and probably high." you sadly deadpanned. Although you would love to hear those words from him, he's intoxicated and doesn't know what he's saying.
"UGH." he groaned before backing you both up so you guys landed on your bed.
You shook your head, laughing while scooting up in a more comfortable position as Riv puts his head on your stomach, hanging onto you like a sloth.
Your hand involuntarily moved to his head playing with his hair while massaging his scalp.
He let out a hum in approval, immediately the feeling of drowsiness came crashing to him.
After a moment of silence you're sure he's asleep but that proves wrong when he mumbled, "I do love you, you know. But my sober self is too much of a wuss to admit it."
And then he was out like a light.
You laid there, mouth gaping opening and closing still not processing what just happened. You took a deep breath and kissed his head, muttering "I love you too Riv." as you let sleep consume you once again.
° time skip brought to you by terra's weed brownies °
The light of the room blinded Riv's sight the second he moved. The throbbing pain in his head practically screaming at him.
He squinted his eyesight and adjusted his position, noticing the warmth of a body below him.
Please be my girlfriend. Please be my girlfriend. Please be my girlfriend.
He chanted over and over in his head as he lifted himself up. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw that it was indeed his girlfriend.
The sun shined directly on your face, it illuminated all the beautiful features that made Riven's heart skip a beat.
And then the events from last night came rushing to his mind.
Shit. He thought.
"You fucking idiot Riven!" he scolded himself, covering his face with his hands. The hangover is already non-existent with his crisis.
It's not that he's mad that he said I love you, it's because he said it when he had been planning this whole cute little picnic and watching the sunset together this Saturday.
His train of thoughts were interrupted with you scrambling in your sleep.
Riven's mind panicked, but his body just continued to sit there admiring you.
As you fluttered your eyes open, you were met with the longing stare of your boyfriend, once again.
"Morning bub." you said groggily, putting out your arms and circling them around Riven's neck bringing him down with you, so you could cuddle him.
Riven's had butterflies in his stomach with your actions. It sent his mind in a frenzy at how much he thought about how deep in love he actually is.
"Morning babe." he mumbled, a smile on his face as he laid himself closer to you.
"You okay?" you asked him, eyes still closed. "You were a mess yesterday-"
"I love you." he blurted. Fuck it. He thought. Now or never.
Your eyes snapped open as all the remains of sleep left your body. "Are you still drunk?" you asked him dumbfoundedly.
"No." he laughed, watching your reactions.
"You sure?" you questioned him again, a small smile playing on your lips. You thought this was all a dream but when he placed a kiss on your nose, the tingly feeling was there and it made you think otherwise.
He continued to pepper kisses all over your face and said, voice filled with so much love, "Positive darling."
"Well then, I love you too." you teased
Hearing you said that to him made the boy blush profusely. But before he could say anything your roommate interrupted the sweet moment.
"SHUT UP WITH THE LOVEY DOVEY SHIT AND GET READY WILL YA?"
You looked at Riv and you guys broke into a fit of laughter.
Riven thought he could never be happier than in this moment, but with you, happiness is always in the package.
reblog for a kiss!

A little danger - Series Masterlist
Pairing: Sky of Eraklyon x mind!fairy
Warnings: angst, swearing, violence, sexual innuendos, descriptions of wounds/death
———— PART 13 ————
It’s almost funny just how much time Y/N spent wishing her powers gone, yet when her wishes are finally heard she can’t reconcile the emptiness. The power that occupied a space inside her chest, wrapped around her heart in an eternal embrace she could always rely on, is now absent. Warmth her power generated had retreated, leaving her a shaken mess with cold seeping into her bones.
“You can’t hide in your room forever”, Stella opens Y/N’s closet, her eyebrows raised as she inspects the contents. “The wounds will heal, but your closet might need some help.”
“My fashion sense is superior to yours”, Y/N remarks lightheartedly.
Scoffing, Stella grabs a black dress off the hanger. “This is a monstrosity!”
“It’s my feel-good dress!” Y/N steals it back, holding it close to her chest. Sky used to love this dress: each thread, each stitch carries memories.
“You look badass in it”, he smirks. “Makes me think about all the things I’d like to do to you.”
Chuckling, Y/N places her hands on her hips. “Do tell”, she purses her lips. “Maybe we can come to an agreement on some of them.”
Blushing, Sky bites his lip. “Well, for starters”, he moves closer, pushing her back into a wall gently. “I’d make it so you’re near me”, he speaks quietly, his voice low and dark. Suddenly, he turns her around, pressing her hips into the wall as his fingers graze her tights, slowly pulling up the hem of her dress. “And then I’d kiss your neck”, his lips graze her ear before they find a home on the left side of her neck, nibbling lightly on the soft flesh. With his hands making way forward toward her inner thighs, Y/N lets out a few short breaths in anticipation. As his fingers brush her wet panties, Sky peels away from her body.
“Where do you think you’re going?” She asks, her eyes narrowing as his smile turns into a grin.
“Class”, Sky shrugs, heading to the door. Pausing, he turns to her with a cocky smirk. “But it’s good to know how wet I can get you in a matter of minutes.”
Throwing a pillow at his head, she growls as he ducks just in time and laughs at her. “JERK!”
“I’ll make it up to you”, he promises. “As long as you wear the dress.”
Stella’s gaze softens. She can tell how hard it is for Y/n, how lost her friend seems. Y/N is navigating in the dark, but Stella has the power to change it. “You’re getting that look on your face again.”
“What look?”
“The ‘I miss Sky’ look which can also be seen as the ‘I’m constipated’ look.”
Rolling her eyes, Y/N places the dress back on the hanger. “I do not miss Sky and I am not constipated.”
“You’re emotionally constipated and you definitely miss Sky”, Stella insists. “No need to lie to me.”
Swallowing thickly, Y/N grimaces. “I miss my power.” Admitting it out loud seems like a crime, as if she’s saying she misses being an out of control monster that hurt people. Placing a hand over her heart, she chokes up. If she could put it into words, the pain that has taken a hold on her since it happened, she would. It’s as if someone locked her in a windowless room and shut off the light. The last time she felt any flicker of her power was when she was walking away from Sky. It’s the hardest thing she’s ever had to do – but it’s for his own good.
Nodding, Stella forces a smile. “It’s a good thing you’ll get it back.”
“There’s no guarantee”, Y/N frowns.
“Well, if you helped us with the Blood witches, maybe we’d have a guarantee.”
“I’m useless against them. Especially now,” Y/N remarks bitterly.
“At least you’re not cleaning toilets like Musa,” Stella tries to lighten to mood. “She’s become the janitor.”
Y/N gives a weak smile, appreciating the pep talk, but it’s not going to fix her struggles. “I’m not getting involved. But I could do with a short walk, if you’re so insistent.”
Stella nods, offering a reassuring smile. “I’ll take it!”
Glancing at her closet again, Y/N nibbles on her bottom lip as her eyes focus on the black dress. Sky did keep his promise that night. He kept it so good that she could hardly walk for two days after that. Shaking her head, she takes it in her hands again and gives it a good look.
“I look damn good in this dress and you’re about to eat your words.”
She was right. Stella had nothing but praise for the dress once it was on Y/N’s body. It fit her as if it was tailored to every curve Y/N has, something quite a few students noticed as they passed by her.
“I swear this was the fifth guy willing to risk his life and give you his number”, Stella exclaims. “If Sky gets his hands on them, they’ll be begging for a quick death.”
“Why?” Y/N presses her lips in a thin line. “He’s not my boyfriend anymore. There’s no reason for him to scare off others who’d like to get to know me.”
“He loves you”, Stella reminds her. “He’s never going to be okay with other men trying to get into your pants. Or under your dress in this case.”
Stopping by the lake, Y/N stares into the distance. “I’m not so sure you’re right about that.”
“Of course, I am! It’s Sky! The guy worships you!”
Crossing her arms over her chest, Y/N shakes her head. “He was scared of me,” she admits quietly. “He’s just hid it better than everyone else.”
“If that’s true, why has he been staring at you ever since we came out here?”
Glancing over her shoulder toward the specialists training, Y/N meets Sky’s gaze. The emptiness inside her aches. She can hardly breathe as her jaw clenches and the lump at the back of her throat grows. Shivering with the cold spreading through her, Y/N turns away.
“Are you shivering in this heat?!” Stella frowns.
Without a word, Y/N continues to walk but in a few steps her walk becomes a sprint until she reaches her dorm. Closing the door behind her, she locks it before falling to the floor. Gasping for breath, she claws at her throat as the sobs make their way through her and out into the world, filling the room with loud, barely human cries as Y/N comes to realize one thing she cannot admit out loud – it’s not her power she’s missing, it’s him. The echoes of their last argument haunt her every time she closes her eyes. Her fingers tremble as she clutches onto the black dress, a painful reminder of a time where Sky was by her side and the love that used to fill her heart wasn’t a hollow ache. She’s pushed him away, finally. It took a while but she won, he finally let her go. Sky watched her walk away and for once he didn’t follow.
Isn’t this what she always wanted? Isn’t Sky’s devotion an inconvenience? Wasn’t she always picking apart everything he’s ever said or done to justify her need to push him away?
As Y/N was breaking down under the weight of her emotions for the first time since their split, Sky was on the other side of the door, listening. He ran after her, desperately wanting to make sure she’s alright.
He didn’t see her in almost two weeks since their split, relying on updates about her state from Stella and occasionally Musa, hell even Riven saw her before he did. This time he wanted to talk to her personally, last thing he expected was to hear the gut-wrenching sound of her sobbing on the other side of the door. He’s listening, unable to tear himself away.
She might as well be in a different dimension to him now, that’s how distant she feel to him. Absolutely no bridges can be made when she refuses to even see him. But, if he’s being truly honest, he hasn’t sought her out either. In the time they’ve been apart, Sky focused on himself. More importantly, Sky focused on honing his skills and pushing away the pain of losing her.
Saul and he have both been iced out by Y/N, which had weirdly enough brought them closer together, fostering an unlikely bond Y/N would likely approve of.
He can walk away now, pretend he doesn’t hear the love of his life crying her heart out, but he doesn’t. His love for her won’t allow it. Instead, he sits with his back resting against the door frame, unable to stay away any longer, and finally speaks.
“Beatrix told me I should have let Andreas kill Saul.”
Silence falls heavy on his shoulders. The cries have stopped, stifled by the sound of his voice, but he can feel her tears still flowing. Just because she’s not bawling, doesn’t mean he can’t feel every tear she spills over him.
“Accused me of doing it on purpose, using Saul as an excuse”, he chuckles bitterly, still in disbelief over the ridiculousness of the accusation. “I think she forgets he was my dad too.”
Sniffling, Y/N unlocks the door. Sky shifts in surprise, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. Part of him expected that perhaps him speaking would entice her to open up.
As she opens the door, she remains seated on the inside, crisscrossed. Her eyes are brimming with tears, red from irritation, and her face is blotchy, but she doesn’t seem to care about that. Her own pain is unimportant when Sky is hurting – something she’s always done.
“I knew you’d do that”, he sighs. Sitting with his legs crossed on the outside, he sniffles too. “I shouldn’t have followed you.”
“But you did”, she states.
“Do you know the girls tried using some sort of a convergence crystal to give Musa her power back?”
“It didn’t work”, she shrugs meekly.
“Maybe it would work if you were with them.”
Biting her lip, she frowns. “I don’t have any power to help anyone.”
“We both know that’s not true”, Sky gives her a pointed look.
“I don’t know what you mean”, she defends.
“Yes, you do.”
Y/N shakes her head. “Have you been drinking? I can smell the booze on your breath.”
“Why ask questions you know answers to?”
“Because I hoped you’d tell me I was wrong.”
“You are wrong”, he quips. “You’re wrong for ending things with me.”
“You don’t need me.”
Letting out a heavy breath, Sky runs a hand through his hair. “It’s not about need, Y/N. It’s about wanting and loving and I both want and love you. I’m just tired of chasing you and being met with a million of these doors and invisible lines I cannot cross.”
He’s tearing himself raw for her, the ache in his chest so unbearable it’s like the very air is suffocating him. It’s all he can do – be honest and be present.
“You’re right”, she says quietly serving as a knife to his already bleeding heart. “So, give it a rest.”
“I killed my dad”, Sky spits out through gritted teeth. “I had to wonder if you’re going to survive too and to hate myself for being the reason you were even there to begin with.”
“I made my choice that night because I wanted to make sure you’re safe”, Y/N remarks. But when she continues her voice is laced with regret and bitterness. “I’m sorry I couldn’t save Andreas too. I was weak. And now I’m nothing.”
“You’re never nothing”, Sky’s quick to correct her. “To me, you’ll always be everything.”
Nodding, she doesn’t reply. What’s the point? Whatever she says, he’ll counter it with the exact opposite…the opposite she doesn’t believe in. It’s like talking to a wall.
“I did hear you”, she whispers, her voice breaking as truth spills from her lips. “It was a flicker of power, but I haven’t felt it since. It’s quiet”, she points to her temple. “Nothing happens in here anymore.”
“You miss it?”
“All the fucking time.” Tucking her hair behind her ears, she sighs with sorrow and longing. “And I miss you.”
“You don’t have to miss me”, his words are a desperate plea. “Say the word and I’ll cross this barrier”, he points to the doorstep, the barrier she had set.
“The problems we had aren’t so easily solvable.”
“Had”, Sky repeats with hope.
“I’ll get my magic back”, Y/N furrows her brows. “I know I will.”
“Is that what you want?” Sky swallows thickly, barely keeping himself together as he realizes just how fractured their seemingly unbreakable love is.
“Y-yes.”
“In that case, I hope you do get it back.” Sky looks down, finding it hard to keep eye contact. His heart is bleeding for this girl who seems to be tearing herself apart. They can fix each other, but she doesn’t allow that.
Nodding, she sniffles tears cascading down her cheeks. Wiping them away, she forces a smile. “Saul says you two are finding common ground.”
“We’ve got a problem.” Saul walks up to Sky. “You were drunk, weren’t you? Last night? That’s why you don’t remember.”
“Are you gonna lecture me?”
“No”, Saul sighs heavily. “You know, when I thought I killed Andreas, I got drunk for two years straight.”
“Yeah?”
“You were just a baby then. Y/N’s mom tried to sober me up and then you got older and I realized I had a job to do.” Pausing, Saul licks his lips, the memories are still vivid. “I’m still here, Sky. Still trying to do that job.”
“I know”, Sky sighs. “But I can’t train. Every time I pick up my sword I’m…”
“Back there. I know. It will pass. It’s going to take time and it will not be easy, but when it comes time when you need to fight to protect someone you love, you will fight.”
“Speaking from experience?”
“I picked my sword up for you, Sky. You’ll pick it back up for someone too.”
“Y/N”, he nods, the thought of her giving him strength. “If someone threatened her, I wouldn’t hesitate.”
“What does she have to say about it all? Have you even talked to her?”
“I haven’t even seen her since she walked away from me. She’s avoiding me.” Sky shrugs, attempting to hide the true depth of pain he’s been in. “What would I tell her? That I was hoping I would have some sort of redemption with my dad? With her? That we’d have a future?”
“See, that’s your problem. You try to predict your future, but we’re soldiers Sky. We don’t get to make predictions.”
Scoffing, Sky takes a step back, frustrated. “That’s fucked up.”
“Life’s fucked up. And guess what? It doesn’t give a shit about your plans. Once you come to terms with that, you become unshakable.”
How can he ever come to terms with that? To accept he might never have the life he wants with Y/N? That all those nights they spoke sweet nothings to each other about their plans are best to be forgotten?
Sky wants a proper life: he wants to marry Y/N, to have kids together, to be able to breathe without living on borrowed time.
“All great fighters are unshakable, Sky. We make peace with those we love every day, because we know tomorrow it could all be gone.”
“So, I’m meant to go through life in a constant state of uncertainty?”
“Readiness”, Saul corrects
“And how did that work for you when you lost the one you love? Huh? You’re still mourning her, watching over her daughter. You’ve mourned my father for all this time and yet you think it made you unshakable?” Tapping Saul’s shoulder, Sky forces a smile, a fragile façade. “You think it works, or that it works for you, but that’s not the life I want to live.”
“We’re trying”, Sky nods. “It comes with ups and downs.” ‘Would be a lot easier if you were around.’
Swallowing thickly, she musters a fragile smile. “I know it’s hard, especially with all the what if’s about Andreas, but Saul has always been there for you,” her voice cracks. “He’s not your blood, but he is your family.”
‘You’re my family.’
“You just need to take time to heal and it’s gonna be fine.”
Pressing his lips in a thin line he nods faintly. “Time…yes.” A sad smile tugs at his lips as his eyes glide across her body. “You look really beautiful in that dress.”
Y/N reaches over the threshold, a trembling hand hesitating before Sky notices. But he does notice and he doesn’t hesitate, taking her hand in his before she has time to change her mind.
For a moment, they both half expected a jolt of electricity to shake them both upon contact, to reignite the spark that once held them so close. But it never comes. Nothing really happens…except Y/N doesn’t feel cold anymore. The empty spot in her chest is filled, even if for a few fleeting moments.
Because the sound of an explosion that caused them to separate had left her feeling empty again. In that moment, the world feels impossibly fragile, teetering on the edge of an abyss.
Sharing a worried look with Sky, Y/N’s the first to speak, fear and confusion evident in her eyes. “What the fuck was that?!”

I still have several way older prompts to fullfill, but this one made me get back into writing again after not writing a single thing since HEX. I'm back at it!! Thank you for the ask, Anne, hope you'll enjoy this short and emotional fic! (and no I haven't forgotten your second ask😉)
Summary: When Saul wakes early he has to confirm that the events of the past day were actually real, and not just a cruel dream.
From the pretty words writing prompts ask meme: Aurora - write a scene where your character sees the sunrise.
Read on Ao3 or down below.
Aurora - Silrah
It was still dark when he woke, the past day’s events rushing back immediately. A pang of worry urged the headmaster to practically fling himself from his bed, his brain doubting if any of it had been real. Dressing as quickly as he could and running from his suite, Saul followed the growing need to make sure it most definitely was real.
Only slowing down as he entered the infirmary, he made a beeline to the one small private room in the space, only to immediately halt upon seeing the empty bed. The sheets were neatly folded and tucked into place, looking as if no-one had occupied them since yesterday evening.
Spotting the fairy he was looking for standing by the window in a thin bedrobe with one arm wrapped around herself and the other holding a drip stand on wheels, he slowly exhaled in relief. A transparent bag with a faint glow dangled on its hook, connected to her hand by a long and narrow tube.
Saul walked up to Farah, without uttering a word. Coming up partially behind her he gently placed a hand on her shoulder. Her warmth radiated through the fabric, solidifying the fact that she was really there and not just a figment of his imagination. He hadn’t dreamed up finding her unconscious in the woods near the school, not far from the cemetery where their former headmistress and commander had supposedly gotten rid of her, nearly completely drained of all her magic. Hadn’t they found her at that time, she would’ve surely perished within a few hours, Ben had informed him. Where she had been in the months they presumed her gone forever, no-one knew.
“Good morning,” he whispered softly. He received a soft hum in reply. “That’s beautiful,” he added as they watched the sky turn brighter, the sun peeking its first rays of the day over the treeline in the far distance.
Farah shuddered, taking a shaky breath.
“What’s wrong, love?” The term of endearment rolled off his tongue without any thought, and he froze slightly at the realization. The fairy said nothing of it, instead bringing her hand up to cover his.
“I never thought I’d see another sunrise,” she finally whispered.
Saul slipped his hand from under hers, causing her to glance back over her shoulder at him for a second before realizing what he was doing. Taking place right behind her back, he wrapped his arms around her. With a deep sigh Farah immediately leaned against him, cradling his hands with hers. Pressing his cheek against her hair he suppressed the urge to squeeze her to him as tightly as possible. He began to fear that if he let her go, she would disappear on him for good this time.
Their mutual friend went unnoticed by them when he came to check up on the fairy, deciding to quietly turn around and leave after spotting the pair by the window. That check-up could wait. And so they simply stood like that for a long while, with no notion of the actual time, simply watching the sun climb higher and higher into the sky as the world and the school slowly woke around them.
