Loki Season 2 Ep. 1 Thoughts:

(Heavy Spoilers)

Ok so I have a lot of thoughts and are basically all over the place so I'm gonna be putting in them in somewhat chronological order (Unlike Loki's current situation hehe)

They really HAD to put more of Loki's heartbreak over Mobius not recognizing him? Loki creators probably: "I know we're gonna bring the duo back but let's make 'em suffer just a bit more in the beginning".

I know others have covered this but also want to spread this headcanon/theory: Even though past Mobius doesn't know Loki ,and probably got his memory erased afterwards, It's still an interesting theory that maybe his interactions with Loki then might have somehow stuck with him and made him want to look into Loki a bit later.

Miss Minutes is with Ravonna right? I feel likeMinutes is probably the only tool/weapon that might give the former judge some leverage.

Casey! Casey not just being a comedic guy but actually a massive help is really nice. He (Present Casey) immediately saw Loki in pain/trouble and decided to help him without much question.

So...X-5 and D-90 weren't what I was expecting, they're kinda switched actually from what I was expecting. I thought X-5 would be a friend to Mobius and kinda con-artist and D-90 was a massive jerk who would side with Ravonna...But hey, I'm all for D-90's redemption.

New Judge is great. Screw Ravonna!...Where's Ravonna?

Apparently she was in on HWR's plan from the beginning...Guess she is a big bad after all. Also, why was she so great to HWR? Like in the comics they were couple but things seem to have taken a different turn in the MCU.

Look, I get it if you don't ship Lokius but...You have to admit was really nice to see Loki get some support from Mobius (And B-15, don't forget her stopping Ass-5) and then Mobius trying to calm/ground Loki while the poor dude is really going through it. AND even later, Loki and Mobius trying to make the other calm down and not to worry about their problems.

IF you do ship Lokius. We're either getting fed well or being clowned upon. Either way, let me just enjoy these two for a bit.

Why has no one talked about the weird fact that O.B.'s memory doesn't seem to have been erased but Mobius' has? Also, is O.B. like a TVA secret? Why the hell is no one in the TVA visiting him! How is he able to keep track of time in the TVA?!

Ok so that guidebook O.B. made, Loki still has it right? Like in a trailer clip he is flipping through an orange book, that's the guidebook right?

I love how Mobius is still thinking about whether he'll lose his skin or not till the very last minute lol. We know he's always was gonna pick saving Loki no matter what, but you'd totally still be worried about the skin thing.

I think Loki was pruned by either Future Sylvie or Future Loki. I think Future Loki and Sylvie came up with a plan to make sure Present Loki got pruned and survived. Also...Sylvie growing out her hair to have 50/50 hair colors is making me more of Bi idiot than usual.

While I enjoy the comparison to the Sam/Bucky roll to Lokius I think there is a key difference: FaTWS played this for comedy while this was played for relief that the characters are ok. And Sam immediately told bucky to get off while Loki probably just thought Mobius's suit was too heavy. (Yes, I'm wearing clown makeup, what about it.)

Finally, And I know how controversial this is: I don't think Loki is looking for Sylvie for romantic reason (OR more accurately, not the sole reason). She is literally about to be hunted down and probably killed and was the last one to see what happened in the Citadel. Even if he did feel betrayed by her, he still would probably want to save her.

About 600 words written today -- I am Stressed today.  I am traveling tomorrow on a redeye, so don’t expect a progress report tomorrow; option is open the rest of the week.  I hate traveling and I am not looking forward to this, but I am committed so it is what it is.  (I hate traveling because I have traveled A LOT over the course of my life, usually for school, sometimes to visit family, pretty rarely for actual vacations (unless it’s going back and forth between school and home, which isn’t the same thing).  Just leave me at home in peace, you know?)  At least it’s an evening flight, which means I can pack in the morning -- afternoon, it’s me -- and don’t have to get up at 4 am.  Everything other than the packing is done. :/  Also I watched SI ep 2 and I uh. hated it.  (I also hated ep 1, to be clear.)  so even without the travel I may stop attempting to keep up, this doesn’t even have the FATWS advantage of needing it for my ongoing fanfic, which was just about the only thing that got me through FATWS. actually, I got out of SW and I swore I wasn’t going to watch things I wasn’t enjoying just because I thought I had to, and the way Marvel’s been going it’s not going to have any effect on anything going forward anyway and will probably be immediately get contradicted in The Marvels, because I assume the two teams weren’t allowed to speak to each other.

“I’m the chaperone,” Peggy said.

Something flickered briefly in Natasha’s eyes, but all she did was nod and then go back to staring at her coffee.  She didn’t look as desperately frightened as she had the previous night, but Peggy could still remember it, like the worst possible thing that Natasha Romanoff Rogers could think of was Steve Rogers in the hands of Department X.

Peggy wasn’t afraid. Peggy was angry.

“They say anything yet?” Jones asked.

“We’re letting them sweat,” Peggy said. “Also most of them have concussions.”

She flicked a glance at Natasha, who just said, “It doesn’t matter.  We’re trained to resist interrogation.”

“All men break,” Dernier pointed out. “And all women.”

Natasha didn’t answer. Her grip on her coffee cup was white-knuckled.  Peggy stared at her, wondering what on earth she could possibly be so afraid of.  It wasn’t as though they were dealing with Hydra; the Soviets were, after all, their allies.

Why is Tony being talked about at all?

Tony probably paid Sam when he was still with the Avengers

But Sam went on the run with Cap for 2 years

Then he got snapped and he didn't even exist for the next 5

Now Tony's dead

That's SEVEN years of no income and it isn't even remotely Tony's fault

The fact that Sam and the others made it through the 2 years on the run at all means that Tony must have paid them a significant amount before Civil War

So stop blaming Tony and start blaming the US Government like we're supposed to

and these are just the wildest ones, but he is shipped with almost every main character in tfatws

I feel at this point it's not even "This relationship might work" it's "Who can I ship the hot white guy with today?"

TFATWS SPOILERS

FOR EPISODE 1

(Also this gets a bit personal with me talking about my anxiety/OCD symptoms/therapy)

Hi! I want to talk a bit about the therapy scene in TFATWS ep. 1:

I go to therapy for my diagnosed anxiety, OCD symptoms, and to deal with/process things that have happened in my life. The scene with Bucky and his therapist is a scene I REALLY related to, and I wanted to give my thoughts.

When the therapist asked Bucky if he was having any nightmares and he said no - I FELT THAT. There has been times in the past where I’ve been asked about if my anxiety has increased and I have just outrightly lied and said no, and that could be for a number of reasons. Sometimes it was that I just didn’t want to talk about it. I used to hate going to therapy and only went because my mom wanted me to. I didn’t want to talk about the difficult things because it was painful. Other times it could be I just didn’t like how the session was going and didn’t feel comfortable and/or I didn’t feel comfortable with my therapist or didn’t even like my therapist.

The most recent time that something like that happened was actually a couple days ago. I wasn’t talking with my therapist but actually with the person who provides my anxiety medication, because it’s required and we need to see if my dosage should be upped. I had intended to talk to him about my OCD symptoms, however it turned out to be a session where I just wanted to get it over with, so I just said no, my anxiety was normal, even though I knew it wasn’t exactly normal.

You may wonder, why the hell did I go to therapy if I didn’t like it and wasn’t gonna talk about? It’s because I really needed it. I had a fear of fires that was extremely bad and even if I didn’t like going to therapy, I needed to. And it helped. The fear isn’t to the extent it once was. Now, with my current therapist, I recognize that I do need therapy again. I don’t need it as bad as I did when I was younger, but I still need it. So this time around, I’ve made the difficult decision to stop avoiding the topics and things I did with my previous therapists, and to instead this time ask my therapist to push me on what may be difficult to talk about.

In TFATWS, when Bucky said he didn’t have any nightmares, his therapist pushed him to talk about it. It was clear that he didn’t want to. The number one way to get someone to not talk about something is to push them when they don’t want to. That happened with me. My therapist kept asking me about something that happened in my life and I kept giving an answer. It felt like she asked the same thing and I gave the same answer every time and it wasn’t helping. That’s what got me annoyed and that, coupled with other things, prompted me to find a new therapist.

I am in no way saying that what I have struggled with or currently struggle with is at the same level as Bucky’s. It’s definitely not. Like how I needed therapy and didn’t want it, Bucky may need therapy and not exactly want to talk about the difficult things, too. The difference is that my mother had me go to therapy and Bucky is a grown adult. It was his choice to go to therapy and that shows that even if he doesn’t enjoy talking about the difficult things, he wants to work through it.

What this post is meant to say is that there are other approaches to take than to force someone to talk about something they don’t want to, even if they need help, because if you do then they won’t want to come back. I felt the frustration Bucky felt in his therapy, and honestly the therapist could’ve been nicer. Also, Bucky never asked the therapist to push him on those things and we don’t see her suggest it. I know that sometimes people do need to be pushed to talk about the difficult things, but the way the therapist did it rubbed me the wrong way.
