On this day a year ago, I published my first Hogwarts Legacy fic Some Like It Sharp. Back then I had no idea just how it would explode, and I'm still so grateful for every new read of it. But more than that, I am grateful for what followed - it was thanks to this fic that I met the incredible @tea-withjamandbread who has been the best friend to me this past year, showing me do much kindness and companionship, and I try to do my best at reciprocating. And I met so so many other friends thanks to taking this little leap of faith and publishing my work. Happy anniversary, VII

I cannot believe it's been a whole year since I posted VII. I wrote and posted it at a pretty dark time for me, and figured it'd be a weird little oneshot that some people might like but would ultimately just kind of. exist.

That is not what happened. I'm still overwhelmed by the response it got. To the folks who loved it and left such wonderful comments, you will never know how much that mattered to me -- and still matters to me. And to everyone who has shared their love for the sequel or helped build that world with me, thank you all so, so much. It's been so fun and such a thrill to see your reactions and your support for my codependent trauma buddies.

I was really hoping to have a new chapter of A long, hard road to post today, but the brain is just not braining right now. Fingers crossed for March 19 (the anniversary of ALHR)!

Today, I'm very proud to announce that my first Ao3 fic is one year old!!!

This is a huge accomplishment for me, in the past I've never had fics survive to one year because of awful bouts of paranoia causing me to panic delete them, this shows I'm making progress and I'm growing more confident in myself and my works :))

I never expected to get this much love for fics from small fandoms/niche ships and I'm beyond overjoyed that people like my works. Hopefully I'll be writing fanfiction for many years to come!

It dawned on me that I finished writing I Told You So some time in September. And sure enough when I checked, I was coming right up on the exact anniversary date. Hard to believe this fic is a whole 8 years old. 🤯 So just wanted to say, happy anniversary to the fic that still remains my most popular one for sherlolly! 🎉 I still think very often about all the fun times it brought me! 🥹🙏🏻

Oh shit, my two year anniversary of my first AO3 post was two days ago and I completely didn’t notice! Two whole years of dumping my Octo-rot onto that website! :D Here’s a little story about my writing process when I first started. This was before I had a laptop, so I was doing all my writing on our PC - our very specifically purchased for the purpose of gaming PC, which I had to kick my partner off of every time I wanted to write.

I discovered right away that I was a fast writer. I know because of texts sent to my sister that I wrote 16 pages that first day, and I spent all day writing - about 12 hours. Two days later and I had figured out how the story ends. I had the whole 45 pages of the first draft of Someone Strong written in just over a week. A few days later, I had written For Want of an Axe, over the course of two days. I was OBSESSED. I remember that, because I could only write from home, there were slow times at work where I would just sit there and think about my stories. And I would get struck by inspiration, so I pulled out a notebook and wrote it out longhand. Then I would take those sections home, lay out the pages and type them into my word document. I did this at least twice that I can remember.

Later, when I was writing The Measure of a Man, I came up with a lot of the major plot points while daydreaming at work. I didn’t write anything down, but I was basically outlining in my head. I was *so* excited, and I had no one to talk to about it! XD By the time I invested in my first laptop, it was clear that having my own writing computer was the way to go. I wrote so much at work after that, lol! And now I’m on my second laptop, and I have over 300k words published on AO3, with who knows how many more written and yet to be posted. All because I looked at H’aanit and Olberic in my party and thought “Those two would make a really good couple” :D Guys, I really love writing <3

HogLeg (who am i kidding it was Seb) made me excited about writing again and finally take the step to posting my first fic.

SO I never would've seen myself doing this originally, but I found I wanted to write a sequel to celebrate the three year anniversary of LLTQ. Honestly, been a wild ride, might get back to Heathers fic but for now it's looking like this is my last one for a while. Had to go show my girl Duke some love while I was at it.

Made this so it can be read as a continuation of LLTQ, but also as a standalone for new readers, and hopefully to get LLTQ the appreciation it deserves, but honestly I reckon this one deserves some love too.
