It's the new year, meaning it's the end of the holidays, meaning it's back to work for our gang! They get into some pointless banter like this in between their work, so it's nothing out of the ordinary -D-)

Semi introduction to my "Mouse House AU", where the guys work at Mickey's latest startup in Toon Town (def not affiliated with anything else he's done in the past, no sir!) Many shenanigans take place.

Purely based on this, I loved it so much I decided to make it a comic figuring it fit with the crew.

I know I've been, you know, thirsting for Valentino but, now that we've seen more of him.... VOX THOUGH! The charisma! The panache! The style! The BEEFING with Alastor!

It's kinda too old for me to go searching for the link (someone found it for me, mid pencil art alert lol) but now I'm thinking of that one idea I had in the past where Val and Vox meet you in a bar/club and start bonding and thinking you're actually pretty interesting and you eventually pepper in these "my boyfriend doesn't let me-" kind of statements, and they're both, jealous af, but, you know. Don't wanna rock the boat and chase you off! So they kinda just keep hearing all these details, "oh, my boyfriend doesn't like me going to these kinds of places, I have to lie to him" "oh, you know, hubby doesn't like me drinking, so I have to sneak around" "ugh, my baby never wants to have fun like this"

I just picture now it evolving into a plot where you're fucking sick of your old fashioned BORING boyfriend who won't let you break up with him, literally you tell him you're done with him and he keeps showing up saying you're together, won't let you out from under his thumb, and you finally sidle up to Vox, "listen dude, I'll be real with you: I think we can help each other out"

I just see Reader doing the most petty shit because you want this stag GONE and you're full of anger and spite. Alastor is walking down the sidewalk thinking you're like, at book club with the gals, and suddenly he walks by a TV on display and here's Vox, "- and here with us in the station today is a very special guest-" and THERE YOU ARE, getting interviewed about being the partner of the Radio Demon!

"So, toots, what's it like, shackin up with Alastor?"

"Oh, you mean what is YEARS of no sex, no TV, no video games, and no weed like? I'd kill myself but I kinda already did that!"

"What, you mean you don't like dating some limp dick old timey FUCK?"

"Not as much as I've liked hanging out with you ;)"

All the radios in town are blaring deafening ANGRY static for hours while you and Vox are getting high and eating cheeseburgers and playing Monster Hunter somewhere while Valentino thinks about "acquiring you" as a little ~companion~ for his man (and maybe himself) right here and now since you two are already so cute together ❤️ I mean, they were already gonna scoop you up anyways, so he might as well rush the process, right?

The original hear me out that started this. Queen of Blades Kerrigan was an awakening when I played her as a kid. Her story is also just sick af. But yeah; mama that could kill me. Would let her infest my terran ass and turn me into a weird little alien creature. Just hopefully prettier than Alexei.

I don't know; her coming out of the well and then the TV was cool as shit to 11 year old me. Would let her kill me if she felt like it. She's a vibe I'm down for.

buttttt if i have to shut down my fangirl mode for a while, i think i'll rate it like this (im'ma be a bit detailed cause i'm excited af bear with me)

Overall story, including the manhwa: 7/10

don't get me wrong, there is NEVER a boring moment in SL both in the anime and in the manhwa. i finished the manhwa, all 200 chapters of it, in 2 days and i've re-read it 5 times by now. every fight is exciting. and it's just so hyped like if you wanna just have fun and get your daily serotonin boost, this is the show for you (the cliffhangers are CRAZY tho you might wanna punch your screen each time)

i'm giving it 7/10 only because the manhwa isn't really doing a good job in giving the side characters a chance to shine, and the last fight (the most important, and the hardest battle for jinwoo) was so rushed that it felt anticlimactic to me. i know this is because the author for the webtoon was terribly sick at the time (and he passed away not long after he finished the manhwa may he rest in peace) so i'm not going to be super critical about it. i do believe the anime would improve on this though because they said they're going to make 5 seasons and adding A LOT of anime only scenes, so if they can do that, and they can make the side characters stand out more, and solve all the remaining plotholes, i'll give it 9/10. people are saying that SL's story is mid but only because the real story hasn't started yet in the anime. the world building in Solo Leveling is actually crazy (especially in the sequel Solo Leveling: Ragnarok) and the lore is interesting to me with all the Gods and the Monarchs. it just needs to be more polished.

Art (manhwa): 1000000/10

This is, by far, to this day, the best manhwa I've ever read when it comes to the artstyle bro like i've said it soooo many times but every panel is wallpaper worthy like look at this shit

the way i got CHILLLSSSSS when reading it man... so many epic scenes, the fight scenes, the way jinwoo carried himself during his battles and the AURA like i've never seen someone as badass and as effortlessly sexy as jinwoo in a fight idk how to explain it he's just UGH

Animation: 9.5/10

A-1 Pictures is doing soooooo well animating the fight scene, especially during jinwoo vs kargalgan fight. the last episode with jinwoo vs goto was not so good BUT the rest of the fights are just god-tier. if you like action scenes, you NEED to watch this. (i can't wait for jeju island raid ohmygod just thinking about jinwoo smirking during the fight got me tweaking)

Music: 8.5/10

the soundtrack is done by the god-tier composer hiroyuki sawano so it's guaranteed to be epic. now, to be fair, it's not as good as 86 or AOT's soundtrack but some of the tracks (like Dark Aria and Shadowborn) are pure banger, and the sad music that played during jinwoo's crying scene was SO beautiful it had me crying fr

okay hear me out. i've never watched anime in eng dub before okay cause i just don't think they're as good as sub ver BUT for solo leveling, i watch both every week cause jinwoo's voice in eng dub is just THAT GOOD like he's so sexy and flirty and cocky but the way he growls and grunts and groans and screams during the fight scenes is just SO UGHHHHHHH

Scout struggles with remembering faces, so when Pyro takes their mask off, they let Scout draw them, just a quick sketch cuz there's no way in hell they're gonna take it off again.

But then Scout shows them the sketch

They hadn't known just how much beauty Scout could fined in their burnt face.

A few weeks later, Pyro corners Scout and despite looking menacing af, they akwardly ask Scout if he can draw them again.

Scout is happy he can get another peek at their face. When he's done drawing, it looks like a whole nother face.

Pyro is confused untill Scout bashfully explains that he focused on different parts of their face than the last time.

Despite the difrence being night abd day, Scout drew them beautifully.

This goes on for a while, every few weeks Pyro will ask Scout to draw them, to see what Scout sees.

Sometime during this, Pyro realized they were down bad for Scout. How they liked to show their face to him! But what if Scout doesn't like them back? Sure he draws them beautifully, but that could just be because of his skill, right?

One day, Pyro is out to find Scout for another drawing when they enter his room. They're shocked to see Scout on the floor, dozens of drawings surrounding him with faces that look similar. When they silently aproach the unaware runner, they notice that the closer the drawings were, the more consistent they get.

They realize, Scout remembers their face...

It freaks them out, and when Scout finally notices them, they're already running out of the door.

Scout looks at the nest of art he had created, knowing he had probably fucked up by constantly attempting to remember Pyro's face. He had known for a while that he had feelings for them. He wouldn't just draw anyone, especially not as much as Pyro.

He grabs his most recent drawing and heads out to find Pyro. He looks everywhere, from the ground to the roof. It's only when the next battle that he finds pyro.

He spends the entire battle trying to catch the firebug so he can apologize, only to be met with enemy fire. After the battle, he finally corners Pyro.

"look, man, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have made so many drawings, trying to remember your face when the only reason i got to see it was because i couldn't remember it." He hands Pyro the drawing and tries run off, only to be stopped by Pyro.

"No, Scout. I'm sorry i freaked out, i- i do like it... When you draw me a-and when you try to remember my face... I- i like how you draw me, i look really cute in them..." Pyro blushes as they stammer. Scout blushes too "well, you are very pretty- I MEAN CUTE- I MEAN PRETTY- I- I MEAN-" Scout, like the tsundere he is, tries to pretend he didn't just say what he had sayd.

"you think I'm cute?" Pyro asks, tilting their head as they take off their mask. Scout nods, looking anywhere but at Pyro. Pyro smiles, and when Scout accidentally gets a glance of it, he cannot take this slowburn anymore and kisses pyro, who happily returns tge kiss!

And they killed happily ever after!!!!!!!

Wow, so how about Priyatel Skelet, y'all? So much is happening!!! Spoiler thoughts below!

Okay so we finally got Dr. Phosphorus's backstory. I gotta say, that was probably the most visceral imagery we've seen so far in this series. The utter horror of watching him completely break down while those thugs forced him to get his prints on the corpses of his wife and child was almost too much to stomach. Seriously, that was fucking traumatizing, I almost had to look away.

So needless to say, the montage of him breaking bad and going on that crime/murder spree was cathartic as fuck. Seeing him in his heyday was cool as hell and he's such a badass but holy shit how can anyone blame his turn to crime with such a horrifying backstory? Also, now we know he went toe-to-toe with Batman!!! So that was really cool.

I knew deep down he wasn't going to hurt that little girl. We do now know he has in fact killed children before, but I knew he wasn't going to hurt her. I almost burst into tears when the parents ran outside to find him playing with her making her fly. Skeleton friend... Children are so pure, god damnit ugh I want to be a father so bad 🥺

Nina and The Bride at the brothel was awesome. The Bride is so grumpy and mean and Nina is so sunshine ahhh I need them to kiss already they are so fucking cute together. Also, seeing Nina be the first to defend the sex worker who was being beaten by that asshole was amazing, I love how valiant she is, I can't wait to see what she can do in the water. And we got more of The Bride being formidable af, loved watching her rip the heart out of that fucking piece of shit.

What little we got of Weasel this episode was precious as hell, I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. I wish he would have stayed with those wolves and lived out the rest of his life in the woods with them. I have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that he's going to die trying to protect the princess. So far, she hasn't done anything in the present day that would warrant her murder, and I know Circe's vision is probably gonna come to pass, but I can't help but to feel that it wouldn't have gone that way had it not been for whatever is going to happen in the last couple of episodes. I will RIOT if Weasel dies because of this, they can't kill both Weasel AND GI, I mean besides Nina they were the two purist out of the whole group!!

Not sure what they're gonna do with Rick Flag Sr. How the hell is he going to recover from that beating? I'm very curious to see what role he plays going forward.

Anxiety is THROUGH THE ROOF seeing that Frankenstein is back home, it's only a matter of time before he crosses paths with The Bride again. I hate him so much, but I'm also scared of him and what he'll do. If he hurts Nina.... Idk if I'd be able to continue watching the show.

So far this season has had no bad episodes, each one has been amazing, they really do have something special here. Excited and nervous about the future of the commandos!

Chapter 10

Warnings: Swearing and angst

Notes: WooHoo! An update. I've been writing a sentence or two a day waiting for my muse and she stopped by yesterday to help write this chapter.

It's shorter than I prefer but its an update. Sorry for the cliffhanger and the reality that idk when I'll be able to update again with everything going on.

Life is still kicking my ass and I was sick af all weekend but am slowly improving. We officially move in with mom in law this weekend to take care of her with home hospice. Between that, broken cars and the holidays I'm frazzled and exhausted.

I hope it doesn't suck.

Radar was woken up by Bucky's snoring and her full bladder. As she became more aware she saw the room was just starting to lighten up and realized the team would be waking soon.

She then realized she was tangled up with Bucky and laid thinking for a few minutes, trying to work out how to extricate herself without waking him. When she picked up her head she felt a knot in her neck from the position she had fallen asleep in, which triggered muscle spasms in her back.

A soft, pained moan escaped and Bucky was awake, mumbling "hhmmm, wus up?" He cleared his throat "Y/N? Are you ok?"

Radar tried to nod but the movement made things worse "ugh, sure. Just slept wrong. Need to stretch."

Bucky rubbed her arm "Ok. Let me help. We'll go slow." He moved carefully to untangle them without hurting her too much.

Once he was done she stood and stretched out as he dozed off again. She stared at him for a moment and smiled softly, feeling hopeful for the first time in years, before heading to her room for a shower and to get her day started.

Once she was clean and dressed, Radar was checking her emails and schedule for the day when there was a knock at her door. It was an agent that she didn't recognize.

"Can I help you?"

The agent smiled "I'm Megan, work in the dispensary. Dr Raynor was concerned after your session yesterday and wanted me to give you something to help you relax. She called it in last nite but we were all gone for the day."

Radar looked confused "I thought the dispensary was always manned, in case of emergency."

A quick look of fear flashed in Megan's eyes and she giggled nervously "Uh well yeah usually but the tech that was scheduled was sick and I was gone so they couldn't get anyone. Luckily we didn't have any emergencies."

She quickly changed the subject and held out a prescription bottle "Anyways, this should help the anxiety. Directions are on the bottle."

Radar looked at the bottle warily "No thanks, I don't need to be drugged up when I'm working."

Megan shook the bottle "Well, save it for at night. To help you sleep."

Radar shook her head "Thanks but no. Tell Raynor I'm good."

Megan quickly looked around the hall and sighed before pushing her way into Radar's room and closing the door behind her. "Jesus you're difficult, I see why Walker liked to drug you, I think I'm going to enjoy it myself."

Radar tried to push Megan away but her sore back restricted her movement and she felt a pinch in her neck before everything went black.

Bucky was startled awake by someone working in the kitchen. He sat up, looked around, saw Sam starting on breakfast and groaned.

Sam chuckled "You alright over there, Sleeping Beauty?"

Bucky shook his head to clear it and mumbled "Yeah, I'm-"

He stopped mid thought and looked around "Have you seen Radar? We both fell asleep on the couch."

Sam shook his head "I've been up almost an hour, haven't seen anyone but you."

Bucky heard talking down the hall before Nat and Wanda came into the kitchen to offer Sam some help. They all worked on breakfast while Bucky stared before asking "Have you guys seen Radar?"

Nat shook her head "Not today. You kids have another blow up?"

He shook his head "No, actually we talked and fell asleep in here. I remember her getting up but fell back asleep hoping she'd come back. I thought we made some progress." He sighed sadly "Guess I was wrong."

Sam tsk'ed at him "Don't go negative right away. Maybe she had some work to do. Sometimes Fury likes to throw small assignments at the Angels, you know that. She might have had an email or something. Don't jump to any conclusions" he pointed at Bucky "You should know better."

Bucky took a deep breath "Right, don't assume. I'm going to see if I can find her." He stood up and stalked out of the room.

Wanda, Nat and Sam looked at each other and Wanda shrugged "Maybe they actually started on their way back to each other?"

Sam smirked and Nat smiled softly "We can only hope."

Bucky checked the Situation Room and Radar's office with no luck and could feel himself starting to panic so was practically running to get to her room. When he arrived he noticed her door wasn't fully closed which grew the knot in his stomach.

He swore softly as he carefully entered her room. "Radar? Doll are you in here?"

The lack of any response pushed him towards a panic attack before he realized he wasn't using one of the best assets in the compound "Friday? Can you tell me where Radar is?"

"I'd be happy to help, Sargent Barnes, but Lieutenant Radar is not in the compound."

Bucky felt his heart drop "Not here? Did she have work to do offsite? When did she leave?"

"I'm not aware of any assignments she has been given that would require her to leave the premises. She left at 5:48 this morning with one of the dispensary technicians."

Bucky started pacing the room, trying to think. "Why would she do that? Did she leave any kind of note? Maybe something in her logs about it?"

"There isn't anything in her log but she left a message for you. Would you like to see it?"

Bucky grumbled "You could have started with that. Yes, please I'd like to see it."

Friday posted a text message on his phone:

Bucky, I'm so sorry but I can't do this. It's all too much so I'm going back to my work in Madripoor. I wish you all the best but please don't come looking for me. Love, Radar.

Bucky growled "No, she wouldn't just run away like that. Does Fury know? She couldn't just reassign herself. She wouldn't."

Friday sounded sympathetic "I'm sorry, I can't find anything in my system but Fury doesn't always log everything he's doing so you should speak with him."

Bucky turned and left the room "Fine. I'll fucking talk to Fury."

When he arrived at Fury's office, the man himself was just arriving with Maria Hill, discussing something that was probably above his pay grade. "Fury!"

Nick looked up "Yes, Sargent Barnes?"

"Radar left the compound early this morning and I need to know if you sent her somewhere or have any clue where she is."

A rare look of surprise crossed Fury's face before quickly disappearing for his typical scowl. "What do you mean she's offsite? I haven't approved anything. We have something big coming and will need her soon. There's a meeting this afternoon."

Bucky scoffed "Reschedule it. I'm not doing a damn thing until we find her."

Nick glared at him "You don't decide what we are or aren't doing Sargent." Then he sighed "But her assistance will be vital so I'll put it on hold for a minute but regardless, it's coming."

He turned to Maria "Call the team and their support staff to an emergency meeting in one hour. We need to get to the bottom of this."

An hour later the team was all sitting around a conference table. Tony half asleep but chugging coffee like his life depended on it, Steve and Sam fresh and showered after their morning run, Nat Wanda and Clint quietly trying to figure out what was going on. Assistants and other support staff at the furthest end of the table, quietly waiting. Bucky sat still and tense, waiting to get started.

Nick Fury strode in with Maria Hill in his wake "All right, everyone's here, let's get this started"

Tony interrupted "Radar isn't here, someone should find her."

Fury nodded "You hit the nail on the head, Stark. Radar isn't here or anywhere else on the compound. We have something big coming up and will need all hands so have to find her asap."

Maria Hill spoke up "All we have is the time she left and with whom. Plus a note she left for Sargent Barnes saying that she couldn't deal with everything and was returning to Madripoor."

She pulled up the image from her laptop, a fuzzy picture of Radar and Megan talking in the hallway outside of her room, then Megan's ID picture "Radar was seen with Megan Alexander, a dispensary tech who has worked for SHIELD for 5 years. Came to the compound shortly after it was converted."

Maria looked at the floor "A background check was done by someone I thought I could trust but was apparently a double agent. When I did some digging I found that her real name is Emily Megan Pierce. I think Radar is in real trouble."

I woke up in a cold horirible sweat with a dastardly idea to make some 2D billboarded skins for this game. I got to work immediately by grabbing a copy of flash 8 and making some shitty drawings with my mouse. What I ended up with is a skin that I'm calling Flash Trash:

IWTV S2 Ep7 Musings - General (Spoilers)

Y'all, it took me like 4 hours to watch this episode; I kept pausing and screaming into my soft beige throw pillow.

Even though I knew what was coming, the execution (pun not intended) was just so heartbreaking, my chest is actually heavy as I type this. Thank goodness for the random humor & comedic relief, cuz I don't know how much of this I could've handled, seeing the Trial done so beautifully done in 4k. Incredible work.

Random thought here but do you think they’re going to do anything with Lucretia in part 3? I know the creators mentioned there being a lot of loose ends they couldn’t tie up in OG because of technical and time limitations and to me Lucretia’s felt like one of the biggest ones. I mean supposedly she was frozen in ice not too far from where Sephiroth’s physical body was and he should know who she is- since he took in the knowledge from the Lifestream- but he never sought her out? I know he’s not supposed to have human attachments or whatever but come on… it seems like his raging mommy issues followed him into the after life as well. Wait as I’m typing this out another question pops to mind: wouldn’t Sephiroth also have figured out that he’s not actually part Cetra? Wouldn’t the knowledge from the Lifestream also include knowledge of his own parentage?

Just to clarify, while Sephiroth has canonically become aware of what he and Jenova really are as well as the fact that he's not a Cetra, there is no evidence to suggest he ever found out the truth about Lucrecia's existence. Some argue that he had to have. But he never ever mentions it. Ever. Even when Vincent speaks of Lucrecia in Opera Omnia, Sephiroth just brushes him off. His locket certainly made him aware of her face, but I think it was deliberate since recent entries have designed Jenova to look similar to Lucrecia. Sephiroth has never found out about Lucrecia, nor has he said or done anything to suggest he is aware of his birth mother's presence.

They could retcon this, of course. After all, Rebirth!Sephiroth shows up in all sorts of places he wasn't originally before. It's possible he follows the group to the crystal cave as well. Personally, I'd rather that they never meet, or that Sephiroth never finds out. It's infinitely more tragic that way. And him rejecting Lucrecia for Jenova, while completely in character, sort of leaves a bad taste in my mouth, though I'm not entirely sure why. It would feel anticlimactic I guess. I think it's just sad to have them separate from each other. Or at least not have them reunite until Sephiroth reaches his final endgame death. Idk that's just personal preferences.

As for Lucrecia, idk if there's much she can actually do in the plot beyond the purpose she served before in the OG. It's not like she can really escape her prison. The trilogy will supposedly link up to Advent Children, which leads me to believe it will do the same for Dirge, in which Lucrecia is still in her crystal. I really think it's going to be the same as before, with some added lore possibly thrown in, especially in the incredibly lucky chance they retcon Sephiroth's paternity.

This is all spitballing. It could go many ways. This is just where I currently stand. The separation of Sephiroth and Lucrecia is one of the more underrated tragedies of the Compilation. One could loosely argue that it was the literal centerpiece that staged the entire plot of the story. I want to see it done justice if they actually cover it, or at least not make it too predictably lame with Sephiroth being your typical scornful villain. It would be a huge moment. And I think that deserves something better than Sephiroth evilly monologuing like usual while rejecting his mom.

Lucrecia is flawed AF and is 100% responsible for what she did to her son. But it's like kicking a sick dog. I get no pleasure watching her continuing to suffer without a proper conclusion. I want to believe they'll do more with her, or at least make what was already there more tragic than before.

The Bubu Pharmacy was a quiet and pleasant place despite always being full of things to do, with the characteristic aroma of medicinal herbs wafting in the air, Baizhu, the owner of the place, was meticulously working on preparing the pills and ointments that his customers needed, with his faithful snake watching him from the table where he stood, however, his pallor and the occasional cough revealed that he was not in the best of health at the moment, and although he tried to hide it at all costs, the illness that afflicted him was evident to those who knew him well, knowing that his health was indeed fragile.

Y/N had recently come to Liyue, an adventurer who enjoyed moving between nations, with the nation of contracts as her final destination. She'd met Baizhu and had been moved by his dedication to helping others despite his own suffering, she decided to offer him her help, and he, though initially reluctant, accepted gratefully after some days of knowing her.

One day, while Baizhu was concentrating on mixing an ointment with the help of the herbalist Gui, Qiqi, walking behind Y/N, entering the pharmacy with a small basket full of fresh herbs. The little zombie who was also helping in the pharmacy, had worked diligently in collecting the plants, but she needed a little extra help as she sometimes got lost, forgot what she was doing or was simply of very small stature to reach some of the herbs and plants needed.

"Good morning, Baizhu, Changsheng, herbalist Gui." Greeted Y/N with a smile as she gently took the basket from Qiqi's hands to place it on the table. "We brought the herbs you needed, Qiqi couldn't find them all yesterday and I came across her while exploring so I helped her. How are you feeling today?"

Baizhu looked up from his preparations with a weary but grateful expression. "Hello, Y/N. Thank you so much for bringing the herbs and helping Qiqi. I'm feeling a little better, but I haven't fully recovered yet."

She approached him with concern. "You shouldn't exert yourself so much. Qiqi and I can handle this and other tasks you need, you know... You look tired, you should take some time to let your body rest."

He knew it was true, but sometimes his stubbornness wouldn't let him simply delegate the work to someone else while he did nothing. He smiled weakly at her, his eyes revealed the weight of his discomfort. "I appreciate your concern, but there are many more things that need to be taken care of and I wish to do it personally. I don't want the pharmacy to suffer for my condition." She decided to leave him alone for the time being, she knew it wasn't gonn be possible to convince him of anything else until he was done with the current task at hand.

As Baizhu continued to work, she turned to Qiqi who was organizing bottles and tubes in a corner of the store. "Hi little Qiqi, do you need help with anything?" She looked at her with a gentle smile.

Qiqi looked up with her usual sleepy expression. "Yes... There are herbs that need to be dried and sorted, can you help me with that, please?" The little zombie asked slowly.

Y/N nodded and started working alongside Qiqi, chatting a bit to make the job more pleasant to handle. The combination of keeping an eye on helping Qiqi and the conversation helped distract her from the growing worry she felt in her heart at seeing Baizhu so sick and stubborn about not leaving the pharmacy unattended.

As they worked, the girl took the opportunity to learn more about Qiqi and her duties at the pharmacy. Through the conversation, she realized how brave and determined Qiqi was, even with her trouble remembering and her own unique status as a living dead.

"Qiqi, how do you feel working here?" She asked, as they dried and organized the herbs.

Qiqi looked at Y/N with her big, sleepy pink eyes. "I feel useful. Even though I'm a zombie, I can help Baizhu and the people of Liyue. It's important to me to feel that way." Replied the little zombie in her slow, sleepy voice.

She smiled at her, admiring Qiqi's attitude. "You're doing very well little one. Baizhu must be very grateful to have you here." She gently patted his head. Qiqi was happy to hear that, she liked to feel useful and having someone acknowledge her effort was always nice.

After a while of chatting and working, Baizhu came over to check on Y/N and Qiqi's progress. Although he still looked tired, his expression softened as he saw the job well done. "Thank you both for your help. I feel less worried now that I see everything is under control."

She offered him a warm smile with some concern. "You should get some rest. I told you, we can handle the rest without a problem."

Baizhu nodded, his gaze full of gratitude. "I will. Thank you, Y/N. Your help means a lot to me. Thanks to you too my little Qiqi, you do a very good job, I'm very proud." The image was almost touching, he had a certain fatherly attitude when it came to the little zombie and it wasn't possible not to feel tenderness towards it.

As Baizhu retired to rest in his room, Y/N, Qiqi and now Gui too, continued with their tasks, working in harmony to keep the pharmacy running. With each task completed, Y/N felt a warm feeling in her chest, the satisfaction of knowing that she was contributing to easing Baizhu's heavy burden was very comforting.

For the girl, to be there helping was a way to make his work at least a little lighter, she knew how hard he worked day by day despite his health, having to smile for the patients, suffering in silence with Changsheng as his faithful companion, he didn't want to worry Qiqi or Gui, nor the regular customers who came to look for him to treat any of their ailments.

Eventually the afternoon turned into evening and when Baizhu returned from his nap, his face showed an expression of relief and gratitude. "Thanks again to you all for the effort. I can see how important it is for me to be able to count on people like you."

Y/N approached Baizhu with a slightly worried smile. "We're here to support you, Baizhu. The most important thing is that you take care of yourself and recover well.... Don't overexert yourself, okay? I'll be asking Changsheng if you're overworking yourself." She reached over and gently stroked the snake's head which had a happy expression cause of the attention received.

Baizhu offered her a sincere smile, a mixture of relief and affection in his reda eyes. "I will. Thank you all three for your care and support. This means more than you can imagine."

Herbalist Gui said goodbye and went home as it was late, Y/N helped Baizhu preparing some tea, enjoying the smooth taste of the herbs was a good way to cap off the day. The three of them were sitting together, Qiqi had a glass of milk and the two of them had tea. Baizhu seemed to enjoy these moments, he looked less pale and a little more rested than in the morning. The three of them looked at the stars together, without too much conversation in between, just enjoying the silence and the nice weather that night had.

Qiqi withdrew first to go to her room and soon the two of them had finished as well. The girl insisted on helping him wash the few dishes they had used and although he was stubborn, she could be stubborn too and much more persistent if it came to helping the man of frail health.

He went to his room to change clothes while she made sure everything was fine, when she finished she went to find him, knocking gently on the door. "Baizhu, may I come in?"

"Yes, come in Y/N."

She entered the room, Baizhu was changed into his pajamas, his hair was down, Changsheng was sleeping next to his pillow and the girl couldn't help but think the snake looked like a little puppy. "Ready to go to bed, right? You're not gonna stay up again reading books and doing your research, are you?" She asked, Baizhu let out an embarrassed chuckle at that.

"No. I promise I'll sleep as much as I can today, okay?"

"Yeah, you better." She replied with a fake angry attitude, Baizhu chuckled again.

"Thank you. Really. You're always helping me a lot with the Pharmacy, with Qiqi too. I appreciate it a lot. There's a lot of work to do but you help me feeling the burden is a little lighter."

"Well, it is what I wanna do. I wanna help you, I don't want you to feel like you have to carry the burden of all this alone. You know you can count on me, even though we haven't known each other for long, it was very easy to get attached to you and little Qiqi, Baizhu." She put her hand on his shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze, he sighed wearily.

"I'm tired."

Her expression is filled with some concern. "I know that. You should rest, your body needs it."

"Thank you." His red eyes were soft and gentle, he was really thankful for all her help, she always tried to help in any way possible without asking for anything in return and he was grateful to had her.

"No worries, I'm glad I can help." She let his shoulder go and stood up to walk to the door. "Good night Baizhu."

I don't know if this is a safe space for me to share my opinion on S8 but I disagree with your take on WLW relationships in S8. As someone who is exclusively WLW, I've got to say that Season 8 is the worst season that I have ever played. It's not worth it. I regret every second that I have spent on it. I wish I never played it. I feel like I have wasted my time. Watching Claudia grind on Theo made me feel physically sick. If you're bi, you're automatically locked out of the WLW route and Bea dances for Claudia instead. If you're doing a WLW route, the two female LIs are merged together. There are only two female LIs and they're hidden behind a gem wall. You can't couple up with them until the final week. The male characters are forced on MC no matter how many times you reject them. Being LGBT is treated like a fun side mission. It's something you're only allowed to do behind closed doors. You can pay to make out with a girl in every episode and the other characters will keep pushing the OG guy and CA guy on you either way. If you're romancing a girl, you're made to feel like a cheater. The WLW routes in S8 are written to be a bonus thing for bi women to do once they finish the good routes. They are not written to be the main course. The S8 WLW routes  are something to play around with but not something to commit to. S5 was no fun but at least we could be in an unofficial relationship with Dana and we could choose to befriend Alfie. We could couple up with Vicky in S7. S8 is like S6 but somehow even worse. The openly homophobic and racist comments that I have seen some straight players make about Bea and Hari are only making it harder to feel accepted. What hurts the most is that MC was a bombshell and she was not coupled up with her OG LI before the Casa. They could have let us pick a female LI the moment MC walked into the Villa. There was no better way to justify a WLW main route. The way they waste Luna and Felicity is unbelievable. I wouldn't recommend S8 to anyone who isn't super into the male LIs

I'm not getting into the way this fandom talks about race, especially for Asian islanders. I just want to talk about the WLW routes as that was the main point of your ask.

Locked out of routes, and Male LIs being forced on you

This isn't new to this season, and in my opinion it's been done dramatically better than previous seasons. I've played all of them, and almost every single season holds the female LI back until the end. Marisol, Elisa, Najuma, Angie, Dana, Lulu, Bella, Chloe, Flo, Bonnie, I don't think you could couple up with a single one of them until the final recoupling. The only exceptions were S1 and S3, I think? I believe you could get with Talia slightly earlier (and have Sammi come in later as a LI for the guy who otherwise would be dumped), and AJ/Yasmin you could couple up with and make Tai and Ciaran get together. But that's only 2 seasons from 8.

(Note: I see you said you could couple up with Vicky in S7, and I'll be honest, I barely played S7 as I found the writing itself extremely lacklustre. So I'll have to take your word for it that they somehow made that work.)

I get that it's frustrating to be separated from a female LI until late game. It's a sentiment I've heard every single season since I started playing alongside the releases. But realistically, this is how the game is structured. Love Island, as a premise, is based on heterosexual relationships. Pairing off and being in heterosexual couples, etc. Same as something like 'the Bachelor'. Two female contestants could be together, sure. But that's not how the show is structured. The only real solutions have been in S1 and S3, both of which I've already mentioned. I'd love to see more MLM couples made canon, or creative ways of letting us couple with women earlier, but I don't think there's one simple solution. This particular show is aimed at het couples. As unfair as it may seem, that's how the game is structured. (Crossing my fingers for canon MLM couples. PLEASE!)

I also disagree that WLW routes are written to be a bonus thing for bi women to do once they finish the good routes. Claudia's route has been a main route since day one in the villa. The fact that you can only have a relationship with either Theo OR Claudia means they intended from the very beginning to have whichever one of that couple you choose be the slow burn route- the route that you can't get on until the very end.

To say that 'Watching Claudia grind on Theo made me physically sick'-- Congratulations and welcome to the slowburn route 😂 I feel exactly the same way when Theo REJECTS ME OUTRIGHT and says he's only interested in Claudia, or when Suresh's heartrate gets raised the most by Lulu, or when I finally couple with Jake and he tells me I should pursue Levi. Don't you think the fact that it's had such an impact on you shows how well-written she is as a female LI? Claudia is AMAZING. But she's also bisexual. She's allowed to be torn between a male and a female LI and want to explore relationships with both, and I don't think it's fair to be angry that she's playing out all her options. That just means she's a well-written bisexual character. (Side note may I remind you that you've been able to take Claudia to the hideaway, and sleep in a bed with her, whereas Theo girls were only able to KISS the dude for the first time within the last week!!!! 😭) I think the only canonical lesbian routes are Angie from S4 and A.J. from S3. But even so, they're both questioning while in-villa and only come out either towards the end or in the post-season. You can watch AJ's route on Youtube if you didn't get a chance to play. Also, you're not locked out of the WLW route if you're bi/into men. Only if you're interested in Theo specifically. This is definitely somewhere they could improve-- I wanted Theo and Claudia, but eventually went back to play a straight route for Theo. However, I DESPERATELY wanted to flirt with Bea. It would've been wonderful if we'd been able to flirt with her separately. (I think I did get this option, but I believe it may have been a glitch). An option early in the game when the female LI asks you could be:

Yes, I'm into you!

No, I'm not into you, but I might be into other women

No, I'm not into women.

The Female LIs are merging together

Welcome to Love Island the Game by Fusebox games, where all the love interests merge and the personalities don't matter. You're not alone here, and it's not NEARLY as bad as previous seasons. Watch Najuma, Bruno, and JAMES have exactly the same dialogue in S4 despite being wildly different personalities. Watch Lewie, Jamal and Ryan be completely interchangeable. This isn't exclusive to WLW routes.

The female LIs are hidden behind a gem wall.

Again, this is the same for everyone, even players on a straight route. FB are greedy.

Being LGBT is treated like a side mission

This is hard. I get why you feel like this, anon, I really do. But I genuinely do think that this is the devs trying to give you something. They know it's frustrating to have to wait so long to couple with a female LI, so they try and give you bonus opportunities along the way to connect with your love interest. Almost every single smut scene written in the scripts has a female alternative. Again, I'm not saying that it's perfect, but having looked at and manipulated the scripts for four seasons now, I can absolutely assure you that this has not always been the case. They ARE improving and giving you more opportunities to spend time with your female LI than you had in previous seasons.

TL;DR

I'm not saying S8 is a perfect season for WLW routes.

The part I'm disagreeing with is where you said it's the worst season.

I absolutely disagree with that. There are far worse seasons. Even the golden child Season 2 didn't let you couple up with a woman until right at the end, watching her graft and grind on everyone BUT you. We also don't even know for sure that we can't couple up with a girl until the last week. The game's still being released. (I won't be surprised if that's the case though.)

I think Claudia and Bea are EXCELLENT female love interests in comparison with what we've had previously. They're both beautiful, they have unique personalities, they have very different routes (Claudia's confused between you and Theo, Bea's your bestie to lover and she's got terrible taste in men, dear god please save her).

I understand WANTING more WLW routes, but from a development point of view, there are simply not enough opportunities in the real-life structure of LITG to have fully blown out WLW routes. And even if they were, FB Games are not going to be financially motivated to do so. Their main customer base ($$$) is pursing a het route, so that’s who they’re creating for. They can't even get through the hetero routes without the characters merging personalities. There are other games doing this well, including fan-made games, which I'd recommend checking out. I don't have the link handy to the game pages, but check out @thatwheelchairchick, I believe she's working on an alternative game?

Anyway, I hope that clarifies my position on why I think they're worth playing. Sorry that it turned into an essay.

I just want to say that I love your work and am so sorry about your mental health (I can sympathise❤️). I know it is much, much easier said than done, but please try and give yourself as much grace as you can - with both writing and life.

With writing, it is ok to fail with it, and I know you want to beat yourself up with it - but experimentation is where you can find things about your style you'd never know.

I'm so sorry it took this long to reply, I was at my mum's and didn't really check Tumblr during staying there.

But thank you for your comforting words, I'm trying not to beat myself up over not being able to write right now. I have a lot going on irl*, so I guess that also affects my mood and why I feel so stressed about this. Usually, writing is my outlet for these situations, when I'm stressed and have my head full of thoughts, writing makes me calm down. But now I just can't get anything out, no matter what or how I try. I got a suggestion to clear out my inbox a while ago when I last made a post about this, but the problem isn't my requests, I have LOADS of ideas for my requests, and I'm excited to write them, but I just can't get it written the way I wanna get it written. I'm advised to write my own ideas. They have the same problem as my requests. I'm advised to write whatever I can think of. The moment I try, my head just empties itself.

"Hmm what to write, can't think of anything, well if I force myself to write: Horses are green and they eat marshmallows. Uh. I don't know, I just can't think of anything sensible. Even writing this is kinda a struggle because I just? Can't write the way I'd want to, these aren't the thoughts I'd want to write but I already forgot what I was going to write, I thought of that like 10 seconds ago and already forgot. And not to mention that writing this is boring af. I'd much rather to clean a bathroom, bleh."

And it goes on and on and on like that.

*Looooong story and I don't have patience to write it all especially when most of it irritates me a lot anyway, let's just say I was promised something a year ago to happen soon after London but I've had to wait til now because of stuff not dependant on me (the person who would grant me a permission was on a sick leave til July and insists on seeing me on 5th of November before giving the permission and I want to strangle her for that, because I've been forced to wait for 6 extra months because of her sick leave), now it's finally happening next week but I'm still kinda furious about it because a lot of things have been ruined/delayed/cancelled because of it being so late, and I'm terrified this will negatively affect next March. It wouldn't affect it if it happened when I was promised it will happen, but unless some stuff will happen instead attached to this thing that's happening, I'm forced to change my plans for March a quite a bit (mainly meaning I wouldn't be able to get many photo OPs and would have to choose the most important people I want to get a photo OP with, and whose autographs I want) and it would crush me because it's my last convention ever with Shadow and Bone cast and I'll be mopey after that anyway, so a possibility that I may not be able to gather as many memories as I intended at first, and it's because THINGS DON'T WORK like they should and I'm forced to pay for shit service like this... yeah. I'm sure you understand why it's extremely annoying and unfair.

About the "some stuff", I'm HIGHLY doubtful about it because basically it'd mean a bunch of extra money for me to spend every month and I just can't believe that's possible before the institute who's paying confirms it. Everyone around me says it's true and my calculations are 100% correct etc, but like? I just can't believe that before they themselves confirm it. If that's indeed true, then everything is fine and I'll forgive them all their sins because I'd be able to buy more than what my initial plans included. But again, I highly HIGHLY doubt that because that just can't be true unless I'm living in some kind of fever dream, not with this government 😅

Warning: This is angsty and sad af, slight cursing, mentions alcohol, Minghao's has an Ice Spice lyric reference, hate comments, Mingyu's is a bit suggestive so respectfully: Minors fuck off and don't interact LMFAO. tbh this is more angsty and emotional than the hyung line and I'm only partially sorry.

A/N: using a song lyric as a prompt for each of the members. Decided to break this up from Hyung Line (Seungcheol - Jihoon) to Maknae Line (Seokmin - Chan). I already did 95/96 Line now it's time for the youngins. Like the hyung version, The parts are written in order from where the song lyrics show up. I tried to do different lyrics from the hyung line xo I hope you enjoy.

✫ Seungkwan: "I don't wanna tiptoe, but I don't wanna hide. But I don't wanna feed this monstrous fire."

Neither of you ever wanted to admit how much of a dumpster fire Seungkwan and your relationship was becoming. However, it was. Day by day, it was becoming more and more clear your once perfect relationship was close to ending. You knew that Seungkwan wanted to make it work out and he truly thought it was just a bump in the road. However, you just knew it was time to end. Seungkwan and you were sat in his car in front of your house while the rain was pouring down and you just felt sick. You had called and told him that you wanted to talk but the words just wouldn't come out. You didn't want to hurt him but you also did not want to tiptoe and hide your true feelings anymore. With one look after an uncomfortable few minutes of silence, Seungkwan knew what was going on started to get teary eyed which made you teary eyed as well. After that, you braced yourself for the storm and for this next chapter of your new life. You opened the door and got out before running to your front door. You turned around as Seungkwan drove off and that was when you finally let go and finally broke down. You were so scared to enter this next chapter but you knew it was what you were supposed to do.

You felt your heart shatter into a million pieces as Chan stood in front of you with a defeated look on his face. He could have said anything, but telling you that he's realized he's starting to fall out of love with you was probably the most devastating thing he could have told you. "When? What? Why?" was all you could say while trying your best to stay strong. You thought you both were golden. "I don't know, all I know is I want to keep loving you but it's just hard to." "I'm hard to love?!" "I didn't mean it like that, (Y/N)." "Then how did you mean it Chan?" Your voice finally cracked and then you looked away so he could not see you cry which absolutely broke his heart. "I- I don't know but--" you then just sighed then walked past him toward the door and opened the door for him. "Well until you know, here's the door. I rather not waste my time with someone who only pretends to love me." He started to walk toward you to give you a hug but you put your hand out so he wouldn't be able to touch you. "Don't you dare complicate this. Just come back when you know what you want. I will wait for you to try to like me again but I don't want to be there while you figure it out."

✫ Minghao: "Know that you made me, I don't like how you paint me, yet I'm still here hanging."

"(Y/N) only dated Minghao for 15 seconds of fame." "(Y/N) thinks they are the shit for dating Minghao. They're barely a fart." "Minghao could've done WAY better. There is more attractive people and he chose (Y/N)? God I'm so happy he finally got a brain and dumped her gold digging ass." Normally hate comments made you laugh. When Minghao and you were together and saw hate comments you both would giggle at how much time they were wasting while you were both just living your life and being in love. However, now that Minghao and you are no longer together the hate comments hurt. What hurt is that after the breakup, Minghao and his company did nothing to stop the comments. You both had a pretty clean and fair breakup so the fact that they just let the comments attack you felt unfair. Your company tried everything in their power to stop the comments with threatening lawsuits, to mass deleting comments, to offering to manage your socials so you wouldn't have to read it. The offer was nice but when you were welcomed with boo's and slurs when you went to an event you couldn't help but try to put on a brave face but mentally curse Pledis and Minghao. Also yourself for even agreeing to date Xu Minghao to begin with. Life would've been so much more peaceful if you never even knew his name.

✫ Mingyu: "Not what you made me, it's something like a daydream. But I feel so seen in the night."

It was supposed to be a one night stand. However, Mingyu and you developed an emotional non committed relationship and it was pretty nice. A little too nice. You knew it was a dangerous game to get this involved but you couldn't help it. Something about Kim Mingyu was so addicting. He was the best drug you could be addicted too. The way he made you feel so seen on your nightly adventures. That's why it hurt a little bit when you saw him out and about and he ignored you. As if you were only good enough for a fuck but not for a casual 'hello' in the daytime. It broke you when he came over two nights after the incident and he scoffed at your hurt. He had assumed you knew what this was. "Is this not enough, sweetheart?" no. No it was not. However, you couldn't bring yourself to admit it to him so at that moment you realized if you wanted anything to do with Mingyu, you had to play by his rules. No matter how bad it hurt.

✫ Vernon: "So for now, it's only me. And maybe that's all I need."

Hansol and you were so codependent for your whole relationship. You were with each other every second. You didn't have to talk, just being in each others presence was enough. Or so it was. One day, you both just grew apart. He started getting busy with Seventeen and you started getting more and more projects at work. The distance was affecting both of you but you both were too scared to say anything. That's when the fight happened and both of you wished you said something sooner because maybe... just maybe you both would be in each other's arms or sending each other cursed TikToks that plagued your FYP. However, neither of you did and you both were just too damn stubborn to say something. After suffering for what seemed like an eternity, you decided to try to explore independence a bit more. You took a much needed shower, and started to curl your hair and put on some makeup. As you were getting dolled up you did some daily affirmations. The more you told yourself, the more confident you were becoming. Maybe being solo for awhile was a good thing.

✫ DK: "My love, I'll wait for your love. I'll wait for your love."

Seokmin woke up in a cold sweat and looked around. He saw he was in an empty bed and the nightmare he had of losing you was way too realistic. He quickly stood up and called out your name but heard nothing back. His heart was racing when he heard the silence. Where were you? He rubbed his eyes and and looked around the room a bit more and that's when he remembered he was in a hotel room for a schedule. He sighed before laying back in bed and grabbing his phone. He squinted as the light hit his face and couldn't help but get teary eyed as he saw your smiling face smiling back at him. He loved you more than words could say. He said it constantly but that still didn't mean that you both weren't going through a rough patch. He didn't leave on the best conditions with you before he left and regretted it. Instinctively, he dialed your number and pressed the phone to his ear. He just needed to hear your voice. "Hey baby!" He heard your voice say which made him tear up even more. "Hi," he whispered while smiling. "Seokmin? Baby, are you okay?" A tear fell down his cheek as he heard the pet name for the second time and his fears were calmed a bit. "Seokmin?" "Oh yeah... Sorry I- I um, I'm sorry." "It's okay, baby... what's going on though?" He sighed before sitting up and telling you about his nightmare and how he just loves you so fucking much. This made you lean against the wall as you listened to him explain his fears and your heart broke at his anxiety. Sure when he left it was rough but that's relationships. Relationships aren't all sunshine and rainbows all the time. When you explained that you heard him sniffle which made you tear up. "Thank you, baby." He whispered. "Of course, love. I'll wait for you to come home. Five more days right?" "Yes, just Five more days." "I'll wait for your love, my love. I love you always." "I love you, always."
