“Can you just,” Charles laughs, the sound breathless and catching in his throat. “Wait, wait, Carlos.”

Carlos leans around him, mouth dragging up from Charles’ neck, hands slipping up his shirt, big and warm and dry on his stomach. Charles can feel his smiles against his cheek, breath hot and damp. “I’m trying to help George with his Pierre thing and Pierre with his, ah, his George thing.”

Carlos grumbles under his breath, finger dipping into the waistband of Charles’ jeans. “Sounds boring. I have a more interesting thing for you to look at.”

Charles laughs again, throwing his phone away, turning in Carlos’s arms to look him in the face, hands coming up to his hair. “You’re awful.”

This time, Charles can feel Carlos’s smile against his mouth as he kisses him.

"If you drink any more of that, you'll never get to sleep tonight," Makoto murmurs into Ami's hair.

Ami ignores her wife and takes another giant, noisy gulp of coffee.

Makoto sighs in affectionate defeat. "At least let me make you a new pot."

Ami smiles and lifts her face for her victor's kiss.

Seb tapped the marble countertop, his fingers working out some invisible pattern. "I don't want to air other people's dirty laundry," he said, not quite meeting Mick's eye. "I mean, I only heard through Charles and you know-"

"He and Pierre are--," Mick nodded and trailed off. He picked at his cuticles, a sharp red pain. He knew.

Seb gave him the space of silence, for a moment. Mick hadn't told him about everything with Esteban but Seb was always better than he let on about reading between the lines. And Seb knew Mick better than he ever expected, the shape of growing from a boy to a man.

"It's just -," Mick added, looking down at his sneakers, the black and white painfully defined. "If it happened with Pierre, maybe it could happen to me."

General Info

What is UraIchi Week?

It’s a week-long fanworks event to promote the Urahara Kisuke x Kurosaki Ichigo ship. There’s no sign-up, it’s just for fun, and everybody can participate. Completed works and wips are both acceptable, and any type of fanwork (fanfic, fanart, gifsets, etc.) is welcome. NSFW and/or potentially trigger-y content is allowed, although please remember to tag your works properly.

The ship itself can be written romantically or platonically so long as it stars these two characters together in some way. Poly ships are also fine so long as Ichigo and Kisuke are still the focus of the fanwork. And crossovers and fusions are also allowed even if it isn’t one of the given prompts for the event. Basically, anything goes, and the only criteria is that it has to be UraIchi-centric.

Posting:

For those of you with Tumblr, you can tag your stuff with #UraIchi Week 2023 in the first five tags of your post. I’ll be tracking that tag so I’ll see it and reblog it to this blog. (If it’s been a few days since you posted and I still haven’t reblogged it, something probably went wrong, Tumblr’s not always reliable, so just shoot me an ask about it and I’ll reblog it.)

For those of you with AO3, I will create a collection a day or two before the event starts, and you’ll be able to add your work to the collection when you post. (I’ll toss up a notice for everyone once the collection is up.)

And of course we have our Discord server (link is on the sidebar) so if you want to come and talk about what you’re working on or you just want to chat, feel free to join us there!

At this point, the UraIchi Server has definitely gotten a lot bigger than just UraIchi, but we do still have channels dedicated to UraIchi events.

~ Themes

The votes are in and tallied so here are the results that everyone’s been waiting for! It’s your choice whether or not you want to make a fanwork that includes all the themes of that day, or a fanwork for each theme, or a fanwork for just one. You can make something for each day of the week or just one or two days. And if your fanwork doesn’t fit any of the themes, there’s a Creator’s Choice option on the last day so feel free to bring your own ideas to this event. All prompts can be interpreted any way you want as well, it’s entirely up to you, any extra bits I’ve added is just to help get those inspiration bunnies hopping.

An extra note about the sentence prompts: feel free to change the tenses and pronouns as it suits you. If you’re inspired by a sentence prompt, then of course you should include it in your fic (as opposed to the quote prompts which are just inspiration in a general-theme-of-your-work sort of way), but if you need to change the tense from present to past, or if you’re doing a genderbend fic and need to change the pronoun, that’s perfectly fine.

Alex doesn’t know what to make of Henry’s comment. It was uttered so casually, as though it’s an irrefutable truth and not, in the politest way possible, the stupidest fucking thing Alex has ever heard, but there was an undercurrent to it that Alex doesn’t understand.

“You don’t… Henry, come on.” Alex doesn’t want to fight — at all, but especially about this; he has absolutely no desire to get into some ridiculous cliche slapfight about who loves who the most. “You don’t actually think I’m a better boyfriend than you, do you?”

But it’s painfully, heartbreakingly clear from the set of Henry’s jaw and then tension in his shoulders that Henry believes exactly that.

“We’re soulmates,” Lance says, leaning back in his chair, arms stretched up behind his head, grinning. Fernando places his hands flat on the table, palms down, and exhales heavily.

Sebastian looks at Fernando, and then at Lance, and back at Fernando, eyeing his tense shoulders. Lewis is still sitting in his chair, head between his knees, trying to breathe around his laughter. “What did he do to that old man, Seb?”

“Oh my god, Lewis,” Sebastian says, voice flat and solemn, every word precise, eyes serious. “He fucked that old man.”

Lewis makes a dying sound as Fernando picks up his chair, throwing it at Sebastian’s smiling face. The back of Fernando’s brain lights up as Lance laughs, Fernando’s fingers tingling with it.

When Steve's expression crumpled, flickering just for a moment with unmistakable hurt, Eddie had the very unwanted realization that — deep down and against all odds — he felt terribly, hatefully guilty. He promised. Eddie promised himself when he and Steve grew closer, became friends that tenuously toed the line of More, that he wouldn't let his stupid feelings fuck it up or hurt Steve. But Eddie's learned a lot about himself since averting the Vecnapocalypse, including his inability to keep a promise. He watched Steve's face crumple across from him on the couch at Eddie's silent response to his confession and the truth tumbled from his lips like falling stars. "I think I'm in love with you too, Steve."
