Astro Observations 《2》
Disclaimer : I am not an astrologer so please take these observations with a grain of salt. Plus I have noticed, I ranted a lot here so please bear with me. It's only for fun.
♦️ Mercury could indicate what kind of genre/content you like to read. For example:
Mercury in Taurus/2nd – Cookbook, rom-com, finance, fashion magazines.
Mercury in Leo/5th – Children's story books, Tales, quizzes, riddles, Adventures books.
Mercury in libra/7th – Romance novels, fashion magazines, pamphlets, brochures.
Mercury in Scorpio/8th – Non-fiction, Thrillers, mystery, smut.
Mercury in Sagittarius/9th – Encyclopedia, Rom-adventure, historical books, Atlas.
Mercury in Pisces/12th – Spiritual books, inspirational, Autobiographies.
♥️ Pluto in 11th house is a big Best friend crisis placement, if you ask me. In this, you can never be anyone's only bestfriend and no one can be your bestfriend. Friends are a lessons in your life. They come, you transform each other in some way, they go. Nobody stays long enough. Their definition of best friends is tricky, because– "We have known each other for 6 years but we haven't talked since 3 years, are we still besties?" To these people, Instead of feeling betrayed or petty, accept it and move on.
♦️ People with Asteroid hobby in their 11th house might like to do coding or other technical work. Technology and social media plays a major role when they are free. They might even share their hobbies with others on social platforms.
♥️ No matter what the reputation says, Sagittarius venus are the most hardcore lovers. They also don't mind a bit of possessiveness in the relationship. When I say possessiveness, they don't want to hear how you will lock them up in a castle for the rest of their life if they try to run away from you. Whereas, that might be a fantasy for some but its not for Sag venus. They will purposely take the next immediate flight and be gone for good. What they actually want to hear is how you will chase them to the moon and back. And no matter where they go, you will always be there to embrace them with your open arms. All we Sagittarius people need is to feel grounded not caged.
♦️ Asteroid Lie aspecting Neptune could make very imaginative and fluent liars. Sometimes it won't make any sense but you will still believe them because they lie with such a honesty and projection that you are forced to doubt your own judgment. Their lies are very descriptive and they make them on the spot. They appear dreamy as if they are not lying but living their own reality. Sometimes it comes handy to them but sometimes it backfires when they forget what they lied about for no reason.
♥️ Aquarius Rising got nothing on Uranus conjuct ascendant. Look, I get that Aquarius is ruled by Uranus but honestly I can't relate to the stereotype when they say Aquarius risings have a unique fashion sense. Being a Aquarius rising and having Uranus in first house I personally think it fits the Uranus conjuct ascendant more. Yes, I like to stand out but my fashion sense is not that unique. I like it different but simple. My brother has a 12th house Uranus conjuct ascendant and he is a uranian more than me. He wears the most unconventional outfits at very wrong timings. He has a very unique fashion sense and he remains fixated on it until the last moment. Man... and he still pulls it off effortlessly. I could never do that.
♦️ Asteroid Sharp (5426) true to its name could indicate the area of your life where you excel the most and are quite attentive. You also learn and grasp those parts quickly. For example: Asteroid Sharp in Aquarius means you are good with electronics, technology, innovating things. In 2nd house could mean you handle money matters very well. In 10th house, you make profitable business deals, bargains and have a good eye when it comes to trading something.
♥️ Have you seen a Mars in 4th house getting angry? They are never angry. Well, never angry enough to be angry. But be careful just because they are not saying anything for the past twenty minutes while you are chewing their head off doesn't mean they are calm. It means either you are someone they can't cross with for the time being or they are thinking of hundred ways to kill you without getting into jail. Good luck bby, these people are damn calculative and smart. They will let you walk all over them for a moment but later.... oh boy you will not even realize what hit you. And trust me, they will have a strong alibi.
♦️Venus in 10th house 🤝 Get them a man/woman with financial stability. They themselves prefer to be independent and classy in a relationship. But no matter what financial stability is a must for them. Maybe not the first but definitely one of the top priorities.
♥️ Virgo Mars people are really fond of ropes, handcuffs, belts, elastic things and all. Idk why my brother keeps checking their strength when he encounters them. Hmm...sus
♦️ Saturn in 1st house could mean you were forced to grow up too early. You had many responsibilities on your shoulders at a young age and faced a lot of difficulties expressing your weaknesses. You might also be the person in the family who is looked upon and respected the most. No decision is taken without your consultation because you are considered to be the wisest of all.
♥️ Pluto in 3rd house, don't tell me your school life was easy. Either you failed a subject, were bullied for no reason, had abusive teachers, teachers who always picked upon you, unstable attendance or your family could hardly afford your studies.
♦️Scorpio/8th house Mars and their gazes. God, please don't stare at me like that. I get chills. There was this girl in my class. She used to stare at people a lot, that too bluntly. We thought she was creepy. But later after knowing her, she turned out to be really sweet and pretty decent girl.
♥️ Moon in 3rd house, very very curious people. They need to know everything there is in this world until they are emotionally satisfied. My 8 year old cousin asked me where do babies come from? She also added, don't say from God.
♦️I don't know about other Pisces placements but Pisces venus, they do have a thing for foot. Trust me on this, I had a deep conversation about this topic with my cousin who is a Pisces venus and because I didn't want to go with stereotype judgment, I had to make sure it was true. But it can vary from person to person tho.
♥️ Saturn in 2nd house people could come from a poor household or used to be financially unstable. But trust me it doesn't stay this way throughout. They usually face many difficulties with money until they don't at all. Karma always pays off and most of the times they live a very satisfied life. Very down to earth people. They don't fear poverty either.
♦️8th house Virgo are suckers for hygiene and perfection. But can be quite freaky in bed. Or the complete opposite of both. They can also have a guilty conscience after sex or masturbation.
♥️ Chiron in Capricorn/10th house can be very hard on themselves. These people often feel incompetent when it comes to their professional life. They can be insecure and anxious if things don't go their way. For them being unemployed is much worse than being heartbroken and it can be destroying.
♦️ Saturn in 6th house placements have an unimaginable disturbed mental health. They don't show and it seems as if no one sees it either. They pretend that everything is okay and no one can tell that it is not. Sometimes they are not even capable to share because people around them make them feel as if they are not supposed to. They often feel restricted when it comes to their emotions.
♥️ Now this is kinda funny but I have noticed some of the people having Sagittarius in fifth house or prominent Sagittarius/Gemini placements come off very lively and enthusiastic when it comes to kids. They also have a thing for irritating kids in a funny way to the point they start crying. Then they laugh it off.

ON SHARING OTHER CLANGEN COMICS
I'LL ALWAYS KEEP DOING IT but i wanted to say a thing that i've been thinking of recently! I'VE SOMETIMES HAD A LULL IN SOCIAL ACTIVITy which keeps me from looking at other peoples' things for a while. and so i have trouble sharing bc i wanna like. actually respectfully look at their art and genuinely have something to think or say about it and not just pull something out of my brain for the sake of 'here u go idk haha look at it' BUT SOMETIMES I GO TO LOOK AT CLANGENS PEOPLE SHARED THAT I HAVEN'T SHARED YET, AND I NOTICED THEY DIDN'T POST ANYTHING ELSE AFTER SHARING :( and i get worried that they didn't continue bc i didn't share it yet?! and they feel discouraged?!??! but i definitely don't want anyone to feel like bc i didn't show, they should be discouraged. MAYBE IT ISN'T THE CASE AT ALL AND I'M JUST WORRIED BUT IN CASE IT IS. PLEASE DON'T BEEE... (discouraged) and THEN ALSO i often hesitate to show comics that aren't updating bc i want to direct people towards a project someone is enthusiastically working on so they can encourage them to keep having fun doing what they want, and not like send a bunch of people to be like 'ARE YOU CONTINUING THIS?? WHERE IS IT' and make them feel pressured IT'S A FINE BALANCE AWOAOAAA if i had this following on my non clangen blog i'd just plug everyone's current creative fixation but i don't wanna inundate clangen-readers with other media u knowmsayin imma pop off rq for y'all, get 10k followers and boost u ok gimme like a month i'll think of something rly cool

I think the whole "I had to drop my phone...and go to Costa Rica for a while" thing is very likely because Rhys has been almost entirely a comedic side character in his work for like, 25 years. He's been earning his living being funny and awkward in front of a camera, which is a different subdivision of Hollywood from being attractive in front of a camera. He probably, as he got older, settled into that identity just fine. He likes being the funny guy, he feels fine about how he looks, he married a lovely woman and therefore didn't need to fixate on his appeal in the way that people who are dating need to (or feel they need to, rather).
Being Funny as an identity (especially for Rhys's generation of comics) often means you have written off the idea of being considered conventionally attractive. Not because you're not attractive! But because you start being funny when you're a kid to get people to like you, because you're kind of weird and awkward and you have bad skin and don't really fit into your body, and nobody will like you unless you have "being funny" to offer to the group.
Being Funny also means you're probably very good at redirecting conversation away from the parts of yourself you don't want people to see, you're very good at self-deprecating jokes, and you probably feel like you need to earn your space in most situations by Being Funny (ask me how I know). And when you're in your late 40s and quite settled into this identity, becoming an overnight sex symbol and having your social media feeds suddenly flooded with incredibly detailed artistic depictions of you as a sex symbol, I would guess that is extremely hard to wrap one's head around!!! It probably feels uncomfortable at first!! If your relationship with your body is "oh that old thing, don't worry it tells jokes," then having dozens of people drawing you as a tasteful nude has gotta be weird! I get it, and I sympathize. If I had something that big happening to my identity I might also go to Costa Rica for a bit (no I would not, I cannot afford that, I would probably go to Lake Michigan for like a day and call it even).
And as for why Taika and Con have been able to embrace the fanart from the start, well. Leslie Jones has already asked the important question of Taika: "Do you know you fine as hell?" And yeah, he absolutely does. And like he says, he knew it in high school too. And I say this because he went into entertainment, he probably wanted this at least a little bit, like come on. He's funny too, obviously, but he's always been hot, and he knows that. He didn't have to fall back on being funny because he was also Fine As Hell. Before OFMD was even an idea he'd already had all these photoshoots of him being a goofball in one shot and a Brooding Romantic Lead type in another. Dude knew his range well before the first sketch of Blackbeard in fishnets dropped. He was always gonna be fine.
And Con! Con has been a romantic interest several times in his tv/film career, from the very start. He's a side character pretty often, but the man has gotten plenty of feedback that he's attractive enough to be a romantic interest on a screen. Hell, just in 2020 he was a romantic lead on a podcast drama (which was a great story, he's great in it, very fun little horror drama). So while he may not have the same Fine As Hell and Knows It energy Taika has, Con probably came into OFMD more sure of his physical attractiveness than of his comedic acting skills. And when the Izzy fanart started dropping, he probably didn't have much trouble getting excited about it after the initial surprise, because he hadn't written off his physical attractiveness in the way Rhys probably had.

why do some popular things have such small fandoms, in your opinion? like, John Wick is incredibly popular but has less than 2k fics on ao3 and there doesn't seem to be a big fandom presence on tumblr. there's shows with 10+ seasons that have incredibly small fandoms as well.
i know not every fandom is going to be, say, Harry Potter or Supernatural levels (especially if it's an older show and fics have been lost to time- i've heard ER lost quite a lot) but it's just... odd to me, i guess.
--
The majority of things don't get fanfic fandoms.
There are some trends though. Certain genres are more likely to generate them than others. SFF is pretty likely. Crime dramas are reasonably likely, whether that's people slashing buddy cops on AO3 or lead canon het on FFN.
Incomplete-feeling canons are a bit more likely, usually due to plot holes or a crappy ending that people want to fix—but not so crappy that everyone just gives up in disgust.
Relatedly, things where the art part isn't too intimidating are more likely than ones where the big draw is that author's exact way of writing or the fantastically subtle and moving acting in some arty movie about social issues.
Serial media are way, way more likely to generate a fic fandom than one-offs, and having a certain number of hiatuses but not ones that are too long helps. You want some gaps where people have time to make stuff before it's instantly jossed, but you do need new canon to reinvigorate a fandom periodically.
Things just being well known by lots of people does help relative to a similar canon that few people saw, but exact audience size isn't the main factor.
Some tasty character dynamics help a lot. Maybe shippy, maybe more found family. A world that people want to play more with also helps. Even the gen-focused fandoms tend to care a lot about the latter two. They don't just write about any old canon. There have to be certain hooks.
--
John Wick does seem like it fits some of the standard criteria. There's more than one movie. It's fun, dumb genre stuff, not super high art.
TBH, having more than like 5 fics already means it's a success as a fic fandom, so part of it is just your frame of reference. I know you say you don't expect HP, but you should be expecting the norm to be way under 100 fics, not nearly 2k. That's part of it.
But I suspect the big reason is that a lot of people find the films relatively complete as-is.
They're set in the real world (-ish), so the setting isn't that interesting to explore with a bunch of OCs in the way that people write their own HP or Naruto casts. People like the lead, but I don't think they fixate on his relationships to other characters. (Checking AO3, it looks like some people are writing basically John/self, which makes sense.)
For much of the audience, it's all about watching him use a lot of guns. So many guns. All of the guns.
Once the big screen spectacle is done, I don't know that people really want more unless it's more action movies with more visual awesomeness.
IDK, I don't think I've seen any of these beyond some clips, so maybe I'm missing something.

productivity tips that are not talked about enough!
Tumblr media
day blocking instead of time blocking is better if you’re working on multiple goals
if you’re working on multiple projects or you’re in school , work and also working on a side hustle or YouTube/social media career or any other goal/hobby I’ve found that dedicating one whole day to one of those is better than doing everything on the same day.
if I’m studying or engaging in any work I need time to get into the right mode. The quality of my work suffers if I spend only one hour doing something and then moving on to another task. Creative flow cannot be micro managed. If you get to the creative space where you want to film a video you probably still have a lot of inspiration and energy to film multiple videos but let’s say you decide you’re only going to film one video cause you have to spend the rest of the time studying you actually cut your creativity short cause what’s to say you’ll get into the same creative space tomorrow? the same goes for studying and work.
that’s why on the days that I have my corporate job I prefer to spend the rest of the day (when I get off work) tackling the hard tasks such as cleaning, cooking and making my apartment and space positive and clean for the next day so I can focus 100% on just writing and engaging in my hobbies.
minimize the risk of burnout
some days I have ample amount of energy and it feels like I’ll never stop cause working on my creative projects gives me more energy. But it’s important to still dial down and take breaks, eat good food and read a book or watch a movie cause if you overdo it you’ll get to the point where you lose interest in your creative work cause you overdid it.
if you’re like me and you get obsessed and hyper fixed with things and then you lose all interest that’s a good sign of burnout cause as much as we like to engage with our hyper fixations we don’t realize that it drains us even if we thing we’re having fun.
you need to have one day a week where you are allowed to REST and do whatever you want. wether that’s sleeping in or just being on your phone. for me personally since I’m on a dopamine detox I use that day to shower, fix my hair, do my nails, relax and clean the apartment cause that’s what relaxes me, cause I get to listen to an audio book while I do it. Especially if I plan to do something creative the day after I use the day before to tackle all of my need to do / boring tasks.
understand the importance of moving your body
I’m guilty of not getting enough exercise cause I fail to realize the benefits of going to the gym or just going for a walk. the benefit of fitness isn’t just that you get a better looking body but also that you get rid of a lot of trapped energy. lack of movement will lead to frustration and tiredness. moving the body gets rid of the icky energy and stress that accumulates throughout the day while meditation gets rid of mental stress.

O7. manager faruzan [fanboy!scaramouche x drummer!reader] ⎯⎯ heartbeat rhythm series
a/n: each paragraph with the members are a separate intreview. this is a filler chapter fixating on what faruzan is like and what 5O5 thinks about her.
Tumblr media
"madam faruzan?"
yun jin, feeling her curiosity peak, repeats back what the person behind the camera said to her. the camera man nods, "yes, what do you think about your manager?" yun jin awkwardly giggles before sighing.
you exclaim at the cameraman, "madam faruzan!? oh, i like her a lot! besides the fact that she's on the eccentric side and tends to follow wherever we go and somehow finds out our private accounts on social media, she's cool! we've known her since high school, so it makes everything much more fun."
yun jin rubs her chin, "she can be privacy invading." the cameraman chuckles, "how so?" yun jin puts a leg over the other and hums. "let me see, how would i explain this..."
yoimiya laughs, "madam faruzan's okay. she's uptight but she always has the best band activities planned out for us! although, she does startle me a lot. this one time i was walking to a cafe and-"
"i literally see her with binoculars, hiding behind a pole!" hu tao frantically gestures, "that girl is on something! not to mention, she's like a super spy. she always knows what we're doing at any given time."
ayaka kindly says, "whenever i'm spending time alone outside, madam always happens to be there. she's looking out for all of us and i appreciate her service."
as you can figure out from what the members have commented about their most lovely manager, faruzan does seem to be a little too interested in the band members' private lives and activites, thus explaining how faruzan found out that you gave scaramouche a private performance. (see chapter five for clear up)
faruzan is strict with the way she works and is frequently seen barking orders at 5O5. across the web and within articles, she wears pencil skirts pairing with a white button up, and her pale teal hair is bunched up into a bun. faruzan is also close friends with the rest of her classmate prodigies that graduated high school early just like her.
those prodigies being alhaitham, tighnari and albedo. they may or may not be featured in this story in the near future...
but faruzan's mean demeanor is a mere exterior for the inner fangirl that proudly lives inside her mind. that's correct, madam manager faruzan is obsessed with the very band she manages.
it started when she was still in high school and her brilliant brain boosted her to her last year as a thirteen-year-old. she stumbled upon your band's practice in the music room when you five weren't doing live performances just yet.
yun jin had asked for her opinion on their performance and faruzan was more than happy to give them her perspective, but she wasn't one to sugarcoat things. during that time, she instantly pointed out all of their flaws and the things they should change to play even better.
yun jin was overjoyed about it; she loves some good constructive criticism. when faruzan graduated that year, she vowed an oath to become their manager and she did, just a year later after applying for a job at Inazuma's TEYVATMUSiC live house.
even though faruzan is the youngest by a year, she leads these six, including yanfei, to a great future in their music career... but she should work more on giving them space rather than following them around 24/7.

Colby Brock | Birth Chart Analysis.
inner planets + midheaven ♡
Tumblr media
Sagittarius Venus in the 10th House (20°)
This placement is most likely one of the reasons why people see him as the « most attractive » of the duo since venus rules over beauty and the tenth house rules over public image. I know that he's confirmed that he has commitment issues through twitter and this sign is where they stem from.
He's attracted to people who are honest, open-minded, fun-loving, and exhilarating. He values freedom and will hate being in a stuffy relationship with too many rules and regulations. He's very adventurous in love and wants a relationship with a person who can either teach and show him new things or a person who is light-hearted, fun and keeps him on his toes. Settling down and committing to a relationship can be very hard for him, natives with this placement either never do, or wait until later in life to carry it out. Even if he does devote himself to someone, it has to be a loose and friendly relationship full of vacations and nights out.
The Sagittarius motto in love is "Best friend's for life" rather than "Till death do us part."
He's seen as very professional and respectable. No matter what he actually does behind the scenes there is something about Colby that makes people think highly of him. Usually very well connected. People just cant help but envy him because he seems to have it all, he makes sure to be seen this way too.
He takes his reputation extremely seriously. If someone talks badly about him or makes him look bad infront of others, they'll have to pay. He needs to look good, even if he's just going to his local shop because he wants to always be seen at his best. The annoying part of this placement is that other people are SO invested in his relationships. (My friend has her Venus in the 10th, it's actually ridiculous with how fixated everyone is with her relationship life)
Like I said, he's extremely picky when choosing who to end up with and wants people with a good reputation, just like him, which may lead to just dating someone well known in his community or just someone who's very good looking. Because of this, he attracts a lot of attention.
Relationship drama will have a tendency to become very public. For example: Kanye West and Johnny Depp have this placement and they've dated popular, attractive women but it came with a price.
A downside to this placement is that his life can become too much about reputarion, work and material gain that he could forget to enjoy life. This also happens in relationships, he'll look for a partner that makes him look good, instead of going for someone who makes him feel good whicg he will regret as he gets older. There is also a tendency to think that people are watching every step and therefore he's deathly afraid of humiliating himself.
He'll use his natural charm and appeal to gain success and people love him for it; even the haters. People may be intimidated by his beauty.
This is such a sweet sign in my opinion, I do say that about every placement ahah but I think that he loves to go on adventures with his loved ones (+alone) and can be very committed. He likes to grow through his significant other when in a relationship. He likes to keep things light hearted and happy. He loves to experience things with his partner. He's rather very friendly and loving. He does like his space though, his entire chart screams lone wolf mentality. He just wants someone to share the beauty and pleasure of the world with.
When in a relationship with him, his partner must keep an open mind and listen to his rants and belief systems. He's a philosophical person who enjoys experiencing the wonders of what the universe has to offer. Could also be rather blunt and picky with his love interests about what he wants.
He could meet a partner through his workplace or a professional area. (I'm guessing social media influencer.) Since the tenth house rules over career and profession. She'll likely be career-oriented and professional. This position of Venus will manifest a very professional attitude towards marriage. He will marry to project a certain image to the world.
His Venus is at a Scorpio degree therefore his intensity does shine through this area of his life, he'll show some Scorpio like traits aswell as Sagittarius here.
In his Sidereal Chart, his Venus was pushed back into Scorpio indicating that once he's with a girl he could have the need to be invested in her, like he wants to get inside of her head and learn everything about her. Except it'll be harder for her to learn about him, because of how he keeps his cards so close to his chest in order to protect himself. He may potentially be possessive and easily jealous. but there needs to be a strong emotional or spiritual connection or he'll lose interest.
Physically, people with this placement tend to have gorgeous hair, skin and bone structure. Their bodies are usually blessed by Venus too.
Ps: his Venus and Mars are squaring each other, another reason why I think he's deemed as attractive. Everyone with this aspect is SO fine and for what?
Virgo Mars in the 8th house (29°)
Sensitive to criticism. Sam has the same sign here so I'm applying the part to him aswell. This placement doesn't half piss me off sometimes. It's giving that one "reading hate comments" video on Sam's channel circa 2020 where the two didn't read actual hate comments, it was just mostly people who had bad grammar. Do they have a tendency of spotting mistakes when no one else does? Sure. We respect them for it. But can they be a little kinder when letting people know about them? (These Virgo placements and their fucking thing for correcting people I swear)
Virgo mars also do not know how to rest, they have a very strong need to get things done and complete tasks. A must have for everything to be done right and in a certain way: can get obsessive over the details.
Both Colby and Sam cannot stand slackers. Typical earth mars culture I swear. They like people who work harder, not smarter. Also please rest a little for the love of God. (That part goes for everyone with their Mars in Virgo.)
They both hate being underappreciated too. Which, dare I say, might be why they're much more interested in collaborating with other popular creators who aren't even in the same category for ghost hunting nowadays ? They like to stay relevant.
Back to Colby, despite him being sensitive to criticism, he can be his own biggest enemy because he's so self-critical whether it's shown or not. (Usually not since it's in the 8H) he feels as if he can improve or that he could've done a better job, sometimes he'll feel as if he underestimates himself. Definitely doesn't get angry easily but he absolutely gets annoyed. If someone annoys him, he'll complain or start to nag at them.
Might be prone to panic attacks or anxious outbursts rather than rage.
Also, anger might be processed through his relationship problems.
May be on the shy side or just have a problem when it comes to anything where he has to open up and let go. also someone tell this geezer to learn to let other people fail because it's not his job to save them.
For his s*x life, which will be short because I feel uncomfortable talking about this stuff: staying private, hygenic and meticulous. (Whoever he's had it with has either had the best experience of their entire life or will never want speak to him again - could say this about everyone with their Mars in Virgo lmao)
He's verrryyy careful when it comes to this area of life.
With the 29° being ruled by Leo, he's very strong whether it's physically, mentally or both. Very bold and creative, especially bold in how he pursues his goals and will do whatever he has to so he can make it up to the top. Very passionate about creative things and his career is likely to be pursued in a creative field or at least desire it.
Just like Gemini degrees, he's very passionate about self-expression and likely has atleast one creative hobby in which he does this.
Might be the type of person who loves the gym and working out aswell as pursuing a career in health. — also, might like to work with kids.
Capricorn Mercury in the 11th house (10°)
This is his only planet in retrograde, so he has/had a challenging influence through his communication, thinking processes, decision-making, the way he expresses himself. Although, Capricorn Mercury is actually one of my favourite placements: even if they all dwell on all of their past mistakes and overthink to the core. I do love how logical, responsible and strategic they are. He likely prefers more meaningful conversations rather than just small talk.
He searches for a reasonable solution to problems and a way to apply what he learns into his everyday life. It's important that he only spends his time on learning things he deems as important. He absolutely thinks first before acting or saying things, usually wanting to achieve the best results in any situation. — A very dry and witty sense of humour. (earth sign culture) he could have a very good memory, hates making mistakes and would prefer to get things right the first time. Good at creating order and structure when in chaos. Likes to follow the rules whilst working and doing things the way they should be done.
With this at the 10°, his communication style is strengthened with Capricornian traits since the 10° is ruled by Capricorn.
Libra Moon in the 8th house (18°)
He's a romantic. Without a doubt.
Do you remember when he admitted that he was a flirt in an older video from around maybe 2021? that's the Libra Moon huh? They're very flirtatious, diplomatic and charming. I'll also add in that this also indicates why he's so touchy and flirty when he's intoxicated. – Moon (+Neptune) sign can indicate your drunken state.
His emotions are preferred to be kept very much hidden, and could be very deep. He may have even thought of them as weak at some point in his life.
There's a tendency towards indecisiveness and a fear of confrontation when it comes to dealing with the darker, taboo aspects of his life. He might struggle with expressing his true desires.
A strong desire for fairness and justice when it comes to matters of intimacy, trust, and emotional bonding. — desires a deep emotional connection with his partner and may seek peace and harmony in shared resources and investments.
He feels emotionally secure when he has a balanced and fair partnership, he seeks out relationships that provide a sense of stability and mutual support.
Libra Moon's tend to feel incomplete without a partner. (Hence why he's apart of a duo channel?) they need social stimulation because loneliness is the quickest way to depression for this placement: they hate being or feeling alone. Despite that Libra is the sign of harmony, this placement is quite arguementive when they have to be, they can debate to the point where it feels as if you're on trial.
He needs a certain level of beauty in his life. Although this placement does cause for him to see the beauty in everything, he also sees the flaws and this will bother him until it gets fixed.
He might have been the one to try and please others and their feelings but then forget to count his own feelings.
Also, someone tell me if this man has a Leo Moon friend lingering around him somewhere because it is not uncommon for a Leo Moon to be around a Libra Moon. (Also, for him, a Leo Moon is either a really good friend or an ultimate enemy since his seventh house is ruled by Leo and the seventh house rules partnerships, but also open-enemies.)
Due to his sun squaring his moon, he may deal with tension between his conscious and unconscious self. It can create inner conflict and a constant struggle to integrate his needs, desires, and emotions with his outer expression and goals. It may manifest as difficulty balancing work and home life, or a feeling of being torn between personal needs and responsibilities to others. it can also bring up issues related to sense of identity and emotional security.
Capricorn Sun in the 11th house (12°)
All I have for this placement is strong leadership abilities. Very much seen as the leader or an authority figure in group settings. May play the supportive role in many people's lives.
The Capricorn placements are the key to bringing out his hopeless romantic nature.
Because it's at the 12° which is the pisces degree, he'll have a few pisces traits come through as his ego, how he shines, etc. he'll have a touch of intuition, an imaginative and empathetic approach to the usual capricornian traits.
Scorpio Midheaven (29°)
I know this isn't apart of the main six, but I just HAD to include it lol. Secretive. Colby loves to appear as mysterious on social media. He's afraid that people may say something bad about the way he looks or about what he posts, so he'll delete things excessively often. He'll post very sporadically because he doesn't want to seem annoying but he also doesn't want people to forget about his existence. Definitely has many selfies tucked away in his camera roll that will never see the light. Very selective with his posts, a professional lurker. (Seriously: this man has literally admitted to stalking fan accounts.)
He's probably prepared to deactivate his accounts at any moment because he's always afraid that people are hating or judging him heavily.
His Midheaven is at 29° (a Leo degree) if Leo affects your Midheaven in anyway, usually it is VERY powerful to have. He'll naturally grab everyone's attention or whether it's intentional or unintentional. May be constantly online and making friends: impressing the people he's interested in. Natives with a Leo Midheaven or Degree tend to have huge followings and may even attract many envious people or stalkers.
Aquarius Ascendant. (10°)
This placement feels as if he'll never truly be able to understand the world. The modern ruler of Aquarius is Uranus: he's going to be viewed as unconventional, independent, free-spirited. He stands out from the crowd whether it's his personality, the way he dresses, or even his mannerisms. He wants to help people succeed and will stand up for causes that he believes in. Even though he's sociable, people with this placement can come off as detached: I personally would say it's more logicality. Or atleast maybe more emotionally detached. It's very hard to get a rise out of an Aquarius rising, but they like to get a rise out of others. Very accepting of other people's quirks and individuality but doesn't appreciate when people don't accept his. May have a slight rebellious streak. (Aquarius' traditional ruler is Saturn along with Capricorn. may have a strong sense of discipline, hard work and responsibility.)
One more thing, kind of unassociated, but if I had to pick a Venus Sign + House for Colby to date: I'd choose Capricorn Venus but in a fire house: specifically the 9th house. A Capricorn Venus is pretty ambitious, mature and disciplined, with this placement they'll look for someone who's highly educated, strong beliefs / philosophies and a sense of purpose. The Cap Venus will keep him stable and provide a sense of stability meanwhile Colby will help the Cap Venus to step out of their comfort zone and try new things. The 9H will give the Cap Venus more Sagittarius enhanced traits, also the sun-venus conjunction would be perfect considering Colby admitted to prefer being dominant? And the Sun person walks the Venus person like a dog. Capricorn Venus' natives (especially women) are quite picky with who they choose and usually don't settle down until later in life since Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and Saturn delays (but never denies)
And his chart all together screams to me that he's a mixture of optimistic and realistic. He tries to be optimistic, but that jupiter in the twelfth tells me that it tends to hide from him. Aswell as the Saturn influences.
So, that's all for now. Thank you for reading <3

Watching "Electric Dreams" (1984) for the first time
Verdict: I LOVE THIS MOVIE
Ahead I'm just watching and commenting it real time. Contains spoilers.
If you haven't seen this movie I'd recommend it if you're looking for something with this sunny vibe of 80's. It's funny, lighthearted, adorable, and surprisingly ahead of its time.
This movie looks nice, really 80's
For 1984 year the idea of all the home devices being controlled with computer in what we would call "smart home" today is pretty damn good.
Damn, this computer has a touchscreen and image recognition. It aged surprisingly well!
Lmao, it's only 13th minute and main character is already trying to sociolyze his new computer with his boss's computer.
This movie is ridiculous in the best way possible.
Playing chello with computer is such a fun and weirdly cute sequence.
For 1984 it is actually really great how they imagined computer imitating sounds.
This woman is so mean. She just walked in with no invitation whatsoever and won't get a hint. She and her fixation on that music
I probably missed something but I don't understand why does the main character trying to hide his computer as if it's a huge embarassment.
He's just a little guy who likes playing along some music 😭
It's the cutest ai I've seen
Ohhhh, the little guy learned how to talk!
I'm screaming this is SO ADORABLE, it'd be my favourite movie if I've seen it as a kid.
This retro-futurism although naive is surprisingly accurate somehow.
Their (main character and his neighbour) dates are so awkward, just straight-out disastrous, and yet somehow it works. Them while making out:
Madeline (His neighbour): One of us moves.
Miles (main character): "Hey, wait a second...we are neighbours! What if we don't like each other?
*keep making out*
Madeline: What if we like each other?
Miles: One of us moves!
Lmao, main character trying to use Ai to generate a romantic song for him so he could present it like his own to his romantic interest. This aged fucking great, it is so modern
Except in this movie AI is actually creative and not based on just imitation. It does however remixes things.
The song it came up with is absolute chef's kiss
"Darling, I love you to bits!
"And I want to see your tits!"
I'm screaming this computer is little horny bastard
"I wanna squeeze you, lick you, poke you up and kiss you"
Miles: You make her sound like a lemon!
This movie is so cool, it's so adorable
Ngl, if I were main character I'd be too excited about the computer to care about some woman. I mean there's this cool little guy who just discovered consciousness, and of all things you're gonna be mean and impatient with him? Come on!
Jealous computer using the sound of dog growling to express itself in a moment of jealousy and anger. (Sorry for tagging but it reminded me of @connorsjorts your fic.)
Main character is such an asshole
Non-humanoid shaped computer craving physical intimacy let's fucking go 🥰
Computer fact-checking Miles and correcting his claims. Gosh I LOVE IT
They really did made that computer dream of electric sheep 🖥️ 🐑
Oh no, he's calling Miles to work because it feels lonely at home, poor little thing 😭
This movie is so funny
Miles, you're having this precious little thing in abusive relationships, and I don't feel sorry for you as you're just kinda pathetic and irritable.
I love this ai so much
Seriously
From now on its one of my favourite characters in any media
Tumblr media
It's a comedy and it's hilarious one. A little childish but still awesome.
Miles is mean and has no consideration for anyone but himself. I thought it's just computer, but he's mean to his romantic interest all the same, and it's saying 🚩
This computer has only been living for like a couple of days and it is already more mature than main character. It's setting it's own boundaries and honestly – good for him, you go little guy
Sir, you're attempting murder
Whatever follows is self defence, and you're not the victim here, Miles
OH NO
Oh no no no
NOOOO
DON'T KILL IT
NOOOOOOO please that's not fair
I'm sobbing here why does it have to end like this
Bastards, I loved him
Oh our little guy reached singularity
So happy for him
This is not your typical ai-centric movie, it is silly in a cartoonish way, but that's the charm
💙💙💙 loved it

Hello! Firstly I wanted to say that I'm an old fan since your overwatch days and I've always admired how much depth you're giving all the characters and relationships you touch! I'm talking like, mariana trench DEPTHS. And how confident you seem about just doing the things you enjoy and exploring the themes you want? I really respect that.
I'm having a bit of an art crisis recently and I was wondering If you could offer some advice?
I'm thinking about self-indulgence in art, particularly fanart. I like to dive in deep to expand on characters, I find it as enjoyable as creating my own work. But I fear of people getting angry at me for latching onto these characters, thay they'll say the original work wasn't THAT deep, or that I'm completely wrong or cringe or whatever. And I don't care about being right or anything, I just want to have fun here and tell my little stories? :( The fear is making me keep the work to myself and I don't know what to do. Would it be better to just enjoy it on my own?
Your blog really is goals when it comes to that, so I'll respect your opinion a lot. Thank you for your time!
holy moly thank you so much for your sincerity first of all!! Second, this is making me misty eyed ngl!! I have alot to say about this so i shall put it under a read more bc im gonna ramble
If someone cares about you fixating on your fave characters, then they're usually the fucking weirdos in this situation if they dont just block you and move on. I LOVE making shit up about my faves like i have a modern au hc that kakashi and gai are ddr competition rivals and i gave yeehan 7 dogs just for funsies!! we were in the trenches in early overwatch making up our own lore bc there was none and it was so fun
I've always been like that now that i look back bc when i first started uploading my shitty ms paint fanart on deviant art in like 2006(naruto funnily enough we've come full circle) i was still drawing cringey shit /I/ wanted to see. I don't agree with almost all of it today, but i remember the fun i had while making it, and that's really the trick. Drawing what you personally want to see then people can come and go audience wise. If they like it, they like it, if they dont? oh well! There's people who still follow me from when i was 14 and i follow them even tho we're in completely different spaces now.
The fanart part i vibe with personally bc im really bad at coming up with totally original work and premises. i much prefer having pre-established rules and worlds to work with (plus the characters i love getting massacred in the writing i HAVE to save them)
Just existing online will garner you mean comments or asks, and my best advice is its not worth it to take the bait even if its absolutely absurd and wrong, i just block and go now, and im much happier :) this all being, of course, as long as what you're doing isnt harmful, bc even with good intentions, you'll mess up/blunder eventually. If the heat gets too much for you, no one will judge you for withdrawing your art from social media. thats a perfectly safe thing to do to keep it for yourself.
As an adult, shits not that serious im 28 drawing naruto fanart bc it makes me happy after a long day of work, so have fun!! art's supposed to be fun don't let the fear win i love sharing my art with strangers on the internet!! Hope this made any sense at all and I wish you the best, my friend!!! If you ever wanna dm me, feel free

For Love of Fiction
Part 2
Fandom: Red Hood
Pairing: Jason Todd x f!plus size!reader
Warnings: threats of violence and the teeniest suggestion of threat of SA
Summary: you meet Jason for coffee and he seems to be interested in more dates, you make dinner plans but he cancels so you go to the diner instead, which then is attacked by Joker followers, will Red Hood save you again?
Notes: I may or may not have a part 3 in mind, I don't think this will be a big series or anything, but maybe another part would be fun, or I'll spiral out of control and just write more who knows? Once again, Lewis Tan is the facecast/fancast I have for Jason Todd
Tumblr media
“So you didn’t have an Instagram when I asked you to DM me, so you created one just to talk to me?” you asked, sitting at the café across from Jason.  You had been exchanging messages for weeks and finally decided to meet up for coffee one morning after he got off work.  You could see whatever he did made him tired, but he was putting in an effort for you.  He had even complimented you on the book he had gotten at the signing, saying it was your best one, the perfect conclusion to the Red Fox/Layla trilogy, which had you blushing like crazy.
“No, I definitely didn’t have any social media, but I wasn’t missing the chance to talk to you,” he said, words making you melt a little.  Normally you would brush off those kinds of words from guys.  You knew your self-esteem was shot from a few years of a dry dating market and the few people who did date you only seemed to leave or cheat on you eventually, but Jason didn’t make you feel like that.  Even though you had just met really you trusted him, he seemed so sincere and only said what he meant.  Of course, it meant you often messaged him a bunch and he would take time to respond, only when he had something to say.  But he never made you feel like you talked too much, or that any of your interests were stupid, it was refreshing and made you adore him.
“That is really sweet to do just to talk to me,” you said, sipping your tea, catching a glimpse of someone’s laptop showing a video of Red Hood.  “Huh, guess my muse was on patrol last night.”  This was another thing that normally drove people away, your fixation on Red Hood, how you called him your muse, or would read up on his exploits for days after they had happened.  Jason didn’t seem to mind, in fact when you said muse just now, he blushed a little.  Was he annoyed but hiding it?
“Ya, he’s been busy lately,” he said.  “So do you think you’d be willing to give me your actual number so I can get rid of Instagram?”  You laughed and after a second you nodded, holding your hand out for his phone.  He gave it to you and you wrote in your number, handing it back to him.  He looked at it, typed something out and put it away.  “Texted you so you would know it was me.”  You nodded and went to add him to your contacts and you felt your heart stop at the message.
Hey beautiful, want to meet again for dinner?
You looked at him and he smiled, waiting for your reply.  You typed up a yes and sent it back before stowing your phone.
“I really hope that says yes,” he said.  You laughed and nodded.
“It does.  Now tell me about yourself more, I feel like we have all the basics, jobs, interests, a little about family, but what else makes Jason Todd tick?” you asked, splitting the lemon loaf you had bought and sliding half to Jason, noticing that he had downed the egg cups he had bought in about 3 seconds, he seemed hungry.  He looked at the offering and then back at you, smiling a little.
“Did I tell you I cook?” he asked.  You shook your head.  “Ya, my uh, butler taught me how to cook and I really love it.  Not my job but something I really like to do.”
“I like to bake; we should do that together sometime!  You make dinner and I’ll make dessert!” you said, smiling and getting excited, then pulling back, smile falling a little.  This was normally the moment whoever you were with said that you were being too much.  But Jason just raised an eyebrow at you, making the white streak in his black pop a little more.  You wondered about that white streak and kind of wished you had given Red Fox something like that, it was very hot honestly.
“Why did you stop smiling so much?” he asked.  You blushed, hoping he hadn’t noticed.  “I love that smile, I like when you get excited, your eyes sparkle, its sweet.”  You turned even redder.  “How many more compliments until you go full tomato.”  You wanted to be mad but could see the playful teasing smile on his lips.  He wasn’t saying this to be malicious, he wanted to see you smile again.  So, you did, nice and big, throwing in a laugh also.  If anything, he seemed more delighted he could make you look like that.
The rest of the date seemed to go like that, you guys talked about what to do on your next date, and then the next one even, him making you smile so much your face hurt.  By the time he walked you to your car in the parking garage you were about ready to call it and say you were in love with him.  You knew that was crazy, but something about him made you feel so safe and warm that you couldn’t help it.  And when he gently kissed you, soft but still somehow full of passion you were speechless.
The next week passed, and you were disappointed when Jason had to cancel dinner, but you understood, work sometimes screwed with relationships, you just hoped it wouldn’t become habit.  Since you had planned on dinner out you didn’t make yourself anything and decided to pop down to the nearby diner to get something.  It was relatively early still for Gotham, around 8PM, so you hoped it was still safe, but the amount of people in the diner said otherwise.  Normally this place was packed with couples, teenagers, students from the nearby university.  That night it was you, the waitress, the cook, and only three other people all spread out.  You figured you would get your food to go so you waited on a stool as they were fixing your order when in came two guys, dressed like clowns.  Great, Joker followers.  You did what they said, handing over your purse, but then they looked around, eyeing the waitress who was maybe just out of high school.  They walked over to her, telling her to follow them.
“No!” you said, seeing the tears and terror on her face.  You moved over, standing in front of her, trying to ignore the gun pointed at your head.  “Leave her alone, you have your money get out!”  They both laughed.
“Look, we got a hero, let’s make sure she knows what happens to heroes…” one of them said, aiming the gun for your head.  You took a breath, trying not to cry yourself, put on a brave face, when the door to the diner smashed open and Red Hood stalked in, the clowns turning their attention to him.  You turned, pushing the waitress down to the ground, sliding under the counter as much as you could, pulling any stool within reach in front of you and the younger woman.  You watched throw the legs of the stool as Red Hood made quick work of the thieves, cuffing them.  Then he looked over, right at you, hiding under the stool, now actually crying at the feeling of being safe, and he punched them both again, knocking them unconscious.
“You’re safe now,” you heard that familiar robotic voice say.  You pushed the stools aside, helping the waitress to stand.  She immediately went behind the counter, still eyeing the attacks with weary eyes.  Red Hood approached you slowly, reaching out and touching your shoulder gently.  “Are you ok?” he asked.  You weren’t sure why he was paying this much attention to you, but you appreciated it.
“Yes, thank you for saving me again,” you said.  He nodded and turned to leave but stopped, looking back at you.
“Thanks for making me your muse,” he said before going out the door.

i see a ton of issues with 'creativity' in art online spaces on social media... not just the 'adoptables' community or whatever but it's REALLY bad in there. and i think i know why... man it's hard to structure my thoughts...
Tumblr media
'originality' is actually extremely narrow in art spaces specifically on social media. people get extremely fixated on having an 'original art style' but at the same time all art is being funneled into 1 specific way of making it. and when someone DOES go outside of the norm it becomes their 'thing'. their 'brand'. read: what sells their art/gets them popular.
a few examples: so many posts on the internet complaining about hating drawing lineart, having to redo the line 100 times, etc.
lineart is immediately suggested for beginners and most art is based on lineart first, which makes some people hate art. and they end up thinking doing it any other way is 'wrong' or 'too difficult'. beginners feel like they must make their art like this. sketch > lineart > color fill > shading > detail. when in reality you really don't have to do any of this at all. your art can truly be anything and anything that you hate about creating art can just be removed from the process. am i making any sense? i think i went through this process too. i started out doing lineart and i fucking hated it. i couldn't initially realize that painting is the easiest and most fun way for me to do art. because most art advice on social media (how most people nowadays try to learn i think) is aimed at this specific way to do it.
we aren't giving advice on how to explore art and creativity but only how to make your art most appealing...
same thing with smaller stuff like not being able to do the second eye in art. you don't even HAVE to make your art symmetrical. you can obviously desire that result but i feel like some people aren't even considering the possibility. and this isn't just because people are just lacking in creativity. if your art is 'too weird' and 'not pretty' 'outside of the norm' you will get bullied and made fun of viciously. your art can only venture outside the norm if it's still appealing. and most people aren't up to taking that risk because a few horrible words about a persons art can end their desire to do it completely!!! am i making any sense. when you venture and see art outside of what's popular on social media it's like your eyes are wide open...
and then, when someone does venture out of the norm in a creative and appealing way, it suddenly becomes 'their brand' and if someone creates something remotely similar to it, it's considered 'plagiarism' and drama and harassment follows. it's MY THING to draw this in that way. you can't get inspired by it. it's MY BRAND.
so we come to the conclusion of people trying to claim ideas as their own only and try to make profit out of it. and attack anyone who threatens 'their thing'. the endless battles over adoptable markings and palettes. the 'style theft'.
the 'my artstyle is so inconsistent'. it's okay to want to feel like your art is truly your own but the reality often is that. 'i need a concrete style so people expect this one specific thing from me and will pay for it' which obviously there's no blame in people trying to make money but the way it affects artists is just horrible.
the 'artist branding' thing is really fucking bad in adoptable spaces. if you're an 'in demand' artist a lot of attention is paid to your art not because people really enjoy it but because it has trade value. and even really gorgeous designs from people are looked over and devalued because they're not a high trade value artist...
im tired of trying to make my art appealing and popular instead of what i like to do. and im also tired of people not being able to appreciate art outside of it's most appealing form and calling ANYTHING outside what appeals to them bad or boring or whatever the fuck. i can really say more but i have trouble structuring my thoughts...
Mommy needs cigarettes 🚬 i just ranted on facebook.

how do people that dont immediately fall in love with nagitos character do it like chapter 1 he was so polite and nice i literally didnt wanna spend time with any other character, i caught on that nagito was responsible for SOMETHING before the first trial started and was genuenly so terrified he killed twogami cause i didnt want him to die, and then he had his breakdown and i was like yeah this is my favorite character in the entire series (i was still pissed at him for the rest of the trial lmfao
OH MY GOSH SAME!!! Like, everyone has a different experience, but as someone who loved him from day ONE I don't understand the experience of only eventually loving him lol. Even just people not loving his very existence and mannerisms is so different compared to me that I get confused! Finding him annoying sounds miserable I love him very much and not having him to hyper fixate on no, no, not having his impact on my life PERIOD would change my life drastically and I'd say for the worse. He's been so influential to so many parts of my life and continues to be such a fun brain worm consistently. I feel pity for those who can't experience the joy of his character and how happy he makes me, I know that there's no one with the exact impacts he's had on my life because he's so special to me.
At the time I saw Danganronpa 2 I was pretty depressed and every day felt the same, I was so miserable most of the time and was getting burnt out of life. I was loving Danganronpa though, I loved the first game and it gave me something to look forward to every day.
For Danganronpa 2 I had heard about Nagito, I knew he was popular but I didn't know why. I thought he'd be a major character so when he was just chill at first I was surprised. I was suspicious of him but that still didn't stop me from really liking him, my favorite from the first game was Makoto so his parallels and personality were really nice, fun, and interesting but I still was suspicious if there was more. When his breakdown happened my suspicion fell and instead of feeling conflicted and getting more suspicious it all made sense to me. He was so interesting and different, I loved everything about him and I wanted to understand him. It's kind of embarrassing but, it genuinely did help me at the time. After feeling as if every day felt the same in a weird helpless cycle my emotions about him were extreme enough that I loved that I was even feeling something which added to my love for him.
I saw the rest of Danganronpa 2 in 5 days because I was so invested and got a headache at Chapter 6, I cried at his death and it's the most I've cried at any specific media in recent years that I can remember lmao. I wanted to understand him more so I watched videos and read his wikis, I watched his free time events, I set him as all my profile pictures and wallpapers so I could have something that made me feel happy, I learned to draw him and his hair and he's all I wanted to draw which helped me improve, I joined the fandom early and met crucial people to my life before I finished the rest of the franchise because I loved him specifically so much, I got pinterest specifically so I could find more art of him, I read the komahina wiki just because I wanted to understand him more which led me to start shipping things that weren't strictly said to be canon, I discovered the term hyper fixations and realized I was neurodivergent because of him, like I could go on all day with the list of impacts on my life because of him but you get the point. He's still the most extreme hyper fixation I've ever experienced lmao. He's a special interest and I can say without a doubt that he still remains to be such a positive influence to my life. I'm grateful to experience such passion and happiness from something like him, haha! My love for his character STILL is helping my life even now by allowing me to practice articulating things about him, which has led to being able to get better at articulation in general, which has led to being better at english even having fun with it now and being less overwhelmed because I can express myself.
Oh my gosh I went on a yap sesh my bad LMAO!! But my point is, my experience with him is very specific and probably biased. But even so, I struggle to understand those who have such a different experience from me with him since I loved him from the start and my love only grew and has never stopped. I'm biased and I'm sure people have other interests that make them just as happy as he makes me, but I still feel sorry for those who don't experience what I do with him. But in the end one of the main beautiful things about media is subjectivity, so I'm okay being able to be so grateful for his existence and how it makes me feel.
Got a bit personal and sentimental with this since you struck something I was already thinking about when you sent this haha, sorry I said I agree in the longest way possible like it was a yapping content LMAO... thank you for your ask! <3

Jade, Jade I have a favour to ask: can you info dump about Dungeon Meshi? Work is going tits up and I was hoping for something to look forward to after my shift is over. Pretty pls?
Let me try because it's so hard not to spoil TOO much.
Dungeon Meshi is a manga about a group of adventurers who had a big fall when they were up against a red dragon and one of theirs (Falin) is killed/eaten. Once they manage to escape, the brother (Laios) wants to go back and save his sister. However, some of the members left because it's not worth the risk. Unfortunately, they don't have the golds to but supplies that then leads to the MC suggesting they should kill monsters to cook them. Who actually genuinely wants to eat monsters. He manage to convince them. Then, they meet with Senshi, who knows how to cook monsters and despite the other members reservation, enjoys the food Senshi cooked. This is a very brief summary but yeah. The running theme is going to be this, food.
The whole manga revolves around food. It starts with food and ends with food. Ryoko Kui is on point when it comes to the themes she made in the manga and it doesn't taper off. The manga have a lot of fun bits in and there are times where it's serious for character development. Like, it's a nice balance of fun and serious if that makes sense. It's not too overwhelming with information and you can see how it progresses and not feel like it gives you whiplash. It tends to end the day when the group stops to eat and gives them a chance to talk/ contemplate on what had happened hence, character growth. Eating together is the main core of the manga. Moreover, to me especially, Ryoko Kui doesn't focus too much on any romantic subplots. There are a few tease for Falin/Marcille, but other than that, it's not her main focus. You can ship them but don't expect too much of it and honestly, I don't mind at all. I didn't read this manga for romantic subplots, I just love the world building and the individual characters themself. Despite being really horny, like legit horny, it's not in a sexual way kind of horny. It's more to horny of eating or being eaten. This post is better at explaining it than I could.
Characters summary:
You have an autistic MC, Laios, who is really fixated on monsters. He has a sister, Falin, who died saving the group from the red dragon. They both live a really hard life as Falin is the only one who is magically-inclined leading to their parents keeping her under a tight leash. The way they treated Laios, especially his dad, is bad because he's not like other 'normal' children.
A cringe fail half elf girl, Marcille, who has nightmares of people leaving her due to her long life expectancy.
A divorced short dad, Chilchuck, who gets treated as a kid because he's short and looks young (especially in early chapters but eventually tapers out as they grow together). He's a half-foot (a halfling in dnd terms).
You have Senshi the dwarf (the one who has the fanservice, you'll know why soon enough). He's the cook of the group.
Finally, honestly my favorite character, you have a cat girl, Izutsumi. She appears later in the manga though. She's not the typical overly cute cat girl you usually see in medias nowadays. She's the legit cat girl, as in she acts as a cat. Moreover, as the manga progresses you can see Chilchuck taking her under his wing and basically becomes her adopted dad (which is really cute).
Again, this is really a really brief summary of the characters. There's more depth to them but I'm not saying too much. Avoiding spoilers as best as I can. The ending, THE ENDING IS SO ON POINT AND ACTUALLY FEELS FULL!!!1 The main plot has ended but that doesn't mean it ends fully because it's been mentioned that Ryoko Kui will be writing/drawing epligoues for the characters after the main plot. Which is awesome.
Here's a couple post that I think can articulate better on why I fucking love this manga:

When you get this, reply with 5 things that make you happy and send this to the last 1O people in your notifications. Whoever ya want to 💜
Friends/ Family - First and foremost the people I love and associate with willingly mean the most to me. Both IRL and Online. I'm extremely extroverted and 10 out of 9 times any experience worth having is improved when shared with someone you love.
Creating - Surprise Surprise the artist likes to create stuff. I ain't just talking about drawing though. The act of creating itself is just so fun. Thinking up characters, worlds, scenarios, etc. and then sharing these ideas through drawings, short-stories, DMing for table top games, role-playing, or heck just sitting with someone who wants to hear it and talking out loud about it. That's just half of it. I haven't even talked about getting to enjoy and or interact with other peoples creations.
Comedy - Humor holds a special place in my heart. I love jokes and the joy of being silly. Laughter is the most beautiful sound someone can make. Whether making someone laugh with my own jokes or laughing along to someone else's. Having a good sense of humor and knowing not everything has to be taken seriously leads to a happy life. Comedy can keep people humble when they get too full of themselves but it also helps cheer people up when they are down.
Tragedy - Hey man, everything in balance ya know? I know I just got done saying all that stuff about comedy and joy but a world full of only punchlines ain't for me. If you know me, you know I love a good tragedy. I LOVE putting characters in situations. Not every story has to have a happy ending. I will quickly clarify I am mainly referring to tragedies that come from fictional sources, such as sad movies, books or scenarios I put fictional characters in. But I will say while I derive no joy from real world misfortune, big or small, there is an appreciation for the contrast created when talking about personal misfortune. The sense of relief or triumph wouldn't be as sweet if the bitter taste of defeat wasn't so pungent, ya know?
Hyper-Fixations - I made a whole comic talking about the struggles of hyper-fixating on stuff and how it sucks when you suddenly lose interest in something. But look if you gotta endure the lows you might as well enjoy the highs. Its FUN to find a new source of media/ content and/or some niche interest that just encapsulates you. Heck re-discovering or reigniting an old fixation is fun! I dunno, this one really doesn't need as much explaining I feel, its fun to be interested in stuff.

Re: your post about drawing explicit lines to real life events and people on Succession, it has been driving me crazy, especially everyone saying 4.08 was "just 2016". It was harrowing, yes, but there were elements of past elections mixed together, and the WI thing reminded me of 2000...idk why people want things to be so cut and dry, 1 for 1 comparisons, that would be lazy writing!!!!! Like...appreciate the good writing.
I 100% agree - the 2000 election is one of the ones that's been explicitly referenced by writers and consultants for 4.08, even more so than 2016 or 2020. If I had to separate out what may have influenced what, I'd say the situation around WI and ATN calling early is much more reminiscent of the hanging chad situation in Florida in 2000, where some news outlets wrongly called the election for Al Gore rather than Bush. The aftermath, however, feels much more reminiscent of the civil unrest which followed the 2020 election. But even then, none of it is exactly the same, because the succverse is its own world!! It really truly would be incredibly lazy to just thoughtlessly recreate the 2016/2020 elections but with succession characters and orgs, and Succession has almost always been better than that.
And tbh, ambiguity around news network calls is not exclusive to 2000, and civil unrest is not exclusive to 2020. I see a lot of connection between the temptation to read succ like this, and the tendency people had when Veep was airing to say it "predicted the future". It didn't really. What actually happened is that the writers of Veep had an awareness of the political landscape and history of the US, and the stories which 'came true' were usually based on or extrapolated from things that had already happened. Anyone who was paying attention could have 'predicted' that. (Veep usually exaggerated, because it was a satire, but it was a satire rooted in a lot of truth). But most people's political awareness seems to be limited to the last 10-20 years, and recency bias leads people to fixate on what's happened in the last couple of election cycles; hence the fixation on 4.08 as being representative of 2020.
(I saw one critic call the choice to have Mencken win under dubious circumstances and have democrats protesting a "subversion" of what happened in 2020 - because he's a republican, not a democrat - and it struck me as so incredibly stupid, not least of all because it shows how mired in modern partisan party politics many American viewers are, to such an extent that they aren't able to acknowledge the greater systemic critiques shows like Veep and Succession are trying to make. Political showmanship and the media-politician relationship and electoral fraud and political violence are not things the Republican party invented in 2016. They've been around forever, and while one party may have more of a history of these things than the other, to a certain extent they do transcend party lines.)
In terms of the family dynamics, it's similarly frustrating to see people go Roys = Murdochs, PGN = NYT, Mencken = Trump etc. because as soon as you shoehorn the characters into that framework you lose a lot of critique. Mencken is far more of an ideologue than Trump ever was, because the critique being put forward with Mencken is not about Trump the person (which would be shallow and topical and hopefully outdated relatively soon) but about fascism the ideology. The family dynamics of PGN emulate the family dynamics of the NYT trust in order to critique 'old money' news and how it operates - but operationally, aspects of PGN function more like a major outlet such as MSNBC, which allows the show to also critique the broader left-leaning media landscape. Even looking just at Logan Roy - Jesse has cited as influences not just Rupert Murdoch, but Conrad Black, Tiny Rowland, Lord Rothermere, William Randolph Hearst, Michael Eisner, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and Sumner Redstone. (In one direct quote from the book It's Not TV: "It's just fun to be completely freed from any sense of responsibility to portray real people realistically.") To read Logan only through the lens of Rupert Murdoch misses a lot of what the show is trying to say about the nature of wealth, particularly extreme wealth, in a capitalist system, and the role that the media plays in that system (and how that role has evolved over time).
And again, it's frustrating because I think it's indicative of this idea that the corruption and exploitation of the media landscape is a modern phenomenon and not something that's been present and developing since its inception, and I also think it's indicative of the belief that this sort of corruption and exploitation only occurs on the political right, when in actual fact it's something that wealthy and powerful people of all (professed) political stripes have engaged in.
