i think it’s hilarious that DC just can’t stop giving Wally power ups

like, he’s been the “fastest man who ever lived” since Flash 1987 #101

and the fact is that he’s still the only one confirmed to be on that “whole new ladder” Max mentioned. Wally is still the only one with the mainline connection to the Speed Force that can’t be cut off. and while everyone has gotten way faster since then, Wally’s still managed to stay definitively in first place. to the point where he’s the “fastest being on the multiverse”

“the fastest being in all the multiverse.” it’s such an insane statement because this is dc explicitly going “NOTHING IS FASTER THAN WALLY!” and then like 4 issues later, this man runs faster than the goddamn Speed Force

and you think that’d be the end of it, right? how could he possibly get faster than being faster than the source of all motion in DC?

then he gets that nitro boost, before giving it to Jai because, really, Wally didn’t need it anyways. it’s literally impossible for him to get faster

they realized he couldn’t be any faster… so they gave him a power where speed (and physics, distance, vibration, and time) don’t matter.

it’s so genuinely insane. comically insane. and i love it. he’s just a suburban dad who happens to be absurdly overpowered for no reason whatsoever.

I don't know how to explain this but I genuinely loved the Flash movie (2023)

I think Muschietti did a great job with the hot potato he was given. Knowing the script went through many rewrites, the movie does´t have the plot holes we would have expected. If anything i must say there aren't any that I've noticed (or at least there aren't any obvious ones lol) the concept of the multiverse in DC is pretty much designed to explain everything on its own.  

I left the cinema pretty satisfied with the experience.

Currently watching the new flash movie on mute so I can hear it in Grant Gustin's voice. He's doing very good.

I have mixed feelings on batmobiles having weapons systems. It makes sense, more sense than Batman using a gun? But still, Batman not using typical firearms - just batarangs and grapplers and smoke bombs and such - give him a noble charm. They make him a super hero.

Anybody can use a gun. But superheroes don't. They use arrows, or laser heat vision eyes, or any number of other things. But they don't use bullets. That seems to be for the bad guys. Or even cops. But not the superhero. Maybe it's to nerf them? With guns, they'd be too much? Who knows!

I do cringe a little when a bat vehicle shoots bullets though. 89 Batmobile had guns, Snyder Batmobile did too. Most batwings have missiles and that I guess is different because what else can you do in the air? This thought brought to you by my having watched Flash 2023 last night.

Flash (2023) Thoughts (Spoilers, Duh)

I’ve never watched the tv series, so I can only assume that this was based on that, but it was an alright watch nonetheless.

Nothing mindblowing, Barry was fun to watch and so was college Barry, Batman is overdone at this point to me, but at least Kara was pretty cool. I do wonder about Wonder Woman’s lasso of truth, I would be curious to see what things I would say under its effects.

The plot being a basic “hero must come to terms with tragic backstory” served its purpose, the stuff about how Barry couldn’t save a kid’s dad during Zod’s invasion was a nice narrative nod to actual themes, although nothing about this was really special to me and I don’t think I’ll ever watch it again. Especially because none of the humour really landed for me.

As an aside, when I was talking about this with my dad I mentioned that Kara was cool, and he said something along the lines of “cool as in you think she’s fit, or cool as in cool?”. Are normie men (can’t believe I’m actually using normie now, but here we are) just so horny that I can’t even like women characters who have cool designs? I never bring up anything even remotely sexual around him...

Why hasn’t anyone done a fanfic where Sasha’s Kara meets Melissa’s?! I need the Arrowverse gang interacting with this jaded, broken version of Kara. I need her interacting with Lena! Maybe Kara (Danvers) getting a little jealous at how much time Lena is spending with this new Kara.

I would posit that when—First off, it's fun to laugh and second off, sometimes when someone else laughs, it's very funny and then that makes you laugh. So I think that there might have been much more laughing at each other trying not to laugh. Yeah. Is this you explaining why you were crying laughing? Yeah.
