Kris has a gift for their friend Ralsei - a brand new flavoured tea to try! What will he think of how it tastes? And perhaps more importantly, what will it say about how he feels towards Kris...? A fic exploring the flavoured tea mechanic in Deltarune, and some hitherto unexplored implications.
An actual new fic on AO3, wow! That makes a round 20, which is very pleasing to me :)
This one was fun to write, particularly the more disturbing moments that arise from it. But there are some nice bits at the beginning, so it's not all bad, right? :)
Any and all feedback gratefully received! Thanks for reading :)

While coffee can accomplish the same thing. But tea has the extra advantage of typically being just pure H2O with that amazing tea flavor. Making it far more advantageous to sip on some tea (hot or cold) on a sweltering summer day since it will replenish whatever fluids you’ve lost via perspiration. It also means that it’s great for hydrating your skin more quickly. Try organic tea online canada with Buddy Basket we have a variety of brands like Lipton, Red label, Tata Tea, Wag Bakri, Tetley, 24 mantra, etc.

Hawker culture is so central to Singapore life that we have led a successful campaign to have the practice inscribed on the 2020 UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Now, McDonald’s Singapore has come out with three uniquely hawker-inspired burgers. Two Satay Burgers (沙爹汉堡) which are available now and Ha Cheong Gai Chicken Burger to arrive from 8th August 2024 onward.

So on the way back home, I detoured to the McDonald’s nearest home and bought the Satay Chicken Burger Special (S$9.90) set meal with Crisscut Fries and upgraded (top up S$1.65) my drink to the Thai Milk Tea Frappé.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Satay Chicken Burger (沙爹鸡肉汉堡) is not the tall handsome burger projected in the advertisement, more on the flat side. And the grilled chicken is skinny and overcooked on one side so that it is tough for my burger but I will give it the benefit of doubt since today is their first launch day. There are also slices of crisp cucumber and onions with satay sauce between the two toasted sesame seeds buns. The peanut sauce is mildly spicy with a sweet and nutty flavour. I do wish the peanut profile is stronger, however.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The very next day, I bought the S$8.90 Satay Beef Burger Meal (沙爹牛肉汉堡) with medium French Fries and topped up S$0.75 to change my gassy drink to a small Ice Green Tea. I also ordered an ala carte Satay Chicken Burger (S$7.95) for mum which she enjoyed. After having eaten both, my preference goes to the grilled chicken version as it is more succulent and juicier. The beef burger is a tad dry due to the thinner patty, maybe more of the peanut sauce would do the trick.

It's been 4 years since I saw this post about an elf joining the Inquisition (or is inquisitor?) and claiming to be Fen'Harel. I finally got hit with inspiration for a design and here we are. Thank you @another-rogue-trevelyan for that brilliant post
A little lore/character ideas beneath cut
Armed with two crossbows and a bit o' magic, they might just be the quickest draw in Thedas, but that could be as much of a tall tale as it is their claim to being the Dread Wolf. We hear riveting tales of their glowing feats, from liberating slaves wherever they may be found, to simply wrangling a stray halla or helping the local grandmas bake pies for the upcoming market. This Fen'Harel is super cool and charming and everyone loves them.
Other random RIDICULOUS lore:
Tattoos on their chest!
Golden City - always searching for their "golden city", but also abide by the Golden Rule. ("Unless it's gambling or a heist...y'know, rules are bendy things, let's not get into the fine print.")
Black City - what is that thing that would make them give it all up and go all in?
Arm tattoo - they forgot the meaning, as they got it during one drunken night in Antiva (or was it Rivain?), but they're pretty sure it's a poem or song to Fen'Harel.
[Akin to an Adoring Fan, this elf searched high and low for stories and eventually it paid off. They realised what Fen'Harel really stood for, past all the propaganda and even the darker truths. His sacrifices, his mistakes, the hope he inspired. They saw and wished the Dread Wolf meant more to modern people or wanted others to see that truth as well. Of course, they have a massive ego, pride, and gambling problems but we all have our flaws. So. They've donned the old name, for better or worse.]

made a sugar syrup for sweetening coffee and simmered it with dried chrysanthemum flowers that i use for chrysanthemum tea and the flavour is so nice. the flavour of the flowers in the syrup is quite strong but when used in coffee it's very mild. i rly love adding chrysanthemum tea to sweet things, the flavour always reminds me of home. one time i made madeleines and added shredded chrysanthemum petals to the dough and infused the glaze with them too and it was so herbal-sweet and tasty

Hi, Peter, I have a question that is only tangentially connected to writing. Is it permissible/advisable to wash the inside of one's teapot with soap? I trust you as the product of a tea-loving culture *g*
If it's a Chinese teapot, don't wash out the inside with anything! They're unglazed, porous, and meant to build up a natural internal layer of tea oils.
If it's a Western teapot, then - unless you're Commander Vimes and the internal build-up of crud is part of the drink's character (also IIRC in the US Navy, where it applies to personal coffee cups) - washing out the inside will do no harm.
Either they're glass (like our standard one) or glazed ceramic (like our Brown Betty) or steel (like our Bodum French Press jug); in all cases, using what I presume is regular dish-washing soap will do no harm.
Inadequate rinsing out of said soap is another matter altogether, and will do interesting things to the flavour of the next cuppa. :-P
To quote a movie @dduane and I will be watching next month:
"Over the years I got to be quite a connoisseur of soap. My personal preference was for Lux, but I found Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavour - heady, but with just a touch of mellow smoothness. Lifebuoy, on the other hand…"

Tea actually contains more caffeine than coffee when consumed in the same number of servings, despite comments to the contrary. Tea and coffee both contain the same amount of caffeine, and while both are stimulants (they won’t make you sad, but they will lower your energy levels), coffee has a much greater depressant effect than tea. As a result, while both beverages will give you a greater caffeine rush, the high from coffee will last less time and fade more quickly. Tea is the ideal option if you’re looking for something to get you through the workday. Choose Buddy Basket tulsi tea canada to get quick freshness.
