It's honestly crazy to me how badly the Clerith's mischaracterize Cloud and Aerith in their minds vs how they actually are in canon. They seem to believe that Cloud is this stoic Sir-Fehs-a-Lot dude who barely gives anyone else the time of day with the sole exception of Aerith, who is this sweet, impeccable angel who can do no wrong. It's like they can't process the nuance of characterization and just hyperfocus on a single attribute while ignoring everything else.

That's cause they go by that cringe af narrative in Dismantled that's all "she melts his frozen heart" or whatever tf it says 🤮

Cloud gets along with people just fine when he chooses. It's literally how an introvert behaves. They don't put themselves out socially because it's draining, and Cloud has a low tolerance for people in general and keeps his walls up most of the time. With people he likes, knows or just feels comfortable with, he's a lot nicer. Look how he behaved with Red in Remake. They met and during the course of the drum event he became close to him, worries when he falls from the platform and even does a combo on the bike when escaping Midgar.

When Cloud wants to, he engages with people. That's not how a tsundere acts and it shows Cloud isn't some ice sculpture with everyone besides their mistaken love interest.

Superman meeting Santa is actually the cutest thing I've ever seen.

I just read the synopsis of Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! and I immediately had to think of the Cleriths. It’s about a college girl who decides she has to force this other guy into hanging out because he’s introverted and a loner and that’s apparently “uncool”. God I had to roll my eyes at that. That’s exactly how Cleriths see C and A’s relationship and it might work as an anime premise but it’s still an absolutely shitty thing to do and I definitely won’t watch that anime now. Imagining a random person forcing me to do stuff because they think they know what’s best for me would be an absolute nightmare

They definitely act like being an introvert is something that needs to be fixed. They love throwing around that cringy dismantled quote about "melting his cold heart" even though Nojima literally took the piss out of it in the game.

There's literally quotation marks around Jessie's line. She's quoting dismantled and Cloud is all "nope" dead serious about it.

Cloud doesn't need "bringing out of his shell". He never asked anyone to do that and he doesn't need it. He has no problems talking to people when he wants to. He's not shy, he just doesn't give a shit. That's not to say he doesn't become shy in certain situations but in general he's a capable person who can get things done. He just doesn't like social interaction. Tifa even says in tkaa to Evan that most people don't get two minutes worth of conversation out of Cloud. Later on we see Cloud and Evan talking about their families and that's a lot of chat for someone who isn't talkative, so Cloud can when he wants to. He's also seen explaining how mechs work in remake. He really doesn't need anyone's help to get along with others. When he wants to, he does.

And that's why Aerith bossing him around is so irritating. She doesn't listen to him and acts like what she does is for the best when it's only the best for her.

That thing people do with female characters where they like, in their attempts to compensate for the unfairly negative way that female characters are often treated by fandoms they end up overshooting and just making them Too Good and flawless and endlessly caring and loving and patient and incapable of doing or being wrong and just removing everything that's distinctive about the character, making her completely flat & forgettable & uninteresting, because they don't want to say anything about her or depict her doing anything that might possibly be interpreted negatively.
