"Doctor Orders"

Asra and Meleia share a lot of inside jokes. They practically have their own language at this point. 

But one of their favorite running gags, which all their friends have started to pick up on as well, is Doctor Forge. 

Meleia’s familiar, Forge the fennec fox, adores both his human and Asra.

But he has an oddly endearing friendship with Julian as well. 

Julian absolutely spoils the little guy, and Forge loves to trot around after him whenever Julian visits the shop. 

One day, when Meleia was doing inventory after a particularly busy day and was clearly not awake, Julian told her to rest. Said it was “doctor’s orders.”  

And Forge immediately adopted the phrase. 

Now whenever anyone needs a break, or when they’re hungry, or if anything else mildly inconvenient happens, Forge urges them to rest with a little call of: Doctor orders! 

His way of speaking is a lot like Faust’s, so that’s really all he can actually say.

But it just so happens to be super adorable. 

Now Asra and Meleia have started using “doctor orders” themselves. Asra has a habit of saying it at almost the same time as Forge, or making Forge say it with him, to “gang up” on Meleia. 

She has to go to bed when her two favorite foxes both say it’s “doctor orders”

Honestly I’m so excited to see the new chapters come out! Of course, people do need breaks every now and then and can perhaps be really busy! And I wanted to draw this as a small practice on drawing in a different style!

These men had been subject to horrors I could not imagine and here was the privileged aristocrat in their midst with no precise idea of what they could really use. The one with the eyepatch grunted a bit and folded his arms across a broad chest. “Depending on what you mean by ‘need’,” he growled, “I would say I need to get lost years of my life back. But yes, Your Highness, we have what we require at the moment.”

“No need to be rude to a lady, Wolffe,” said the first man chidingly.”She didn’t do this to us.”

“I hope it has been explained,” I said, keeping my gaze unflinchingly on Wolffe, “that you are slaves no longer. That we intend to aid you to reach wherever you wish once we return to Naboo.”

“It was,” said the last man curtly. His hair was curlier than the other two and he was perhaps an inch shorter. A little grey flecked his temples, though he did not appear older than the others to my eye.

“Good,” I answered a little awkwardly. “I ah…I wondered what you might be able to tell me about how you came to be in the hands of slavers. You are Mandalorian, correct?”

I went back to Forges du Saint Maurice again with a friend and the first thing I spot once were out of the car was a FOX!

It was walking around the park looking for something to eat I'm guessing.

Ran into him again while making our way to the Devil's Fountain.

Vesuvia Weekly: Animal Shenanigans

(for @vesuviaweekly 's "How things went wrong, featuring the familiars" prompt. Also featuring very sketchy doodles I did while playing DnD)

Chandra and Skye

(Nadia and Chimalus' familiars)

There aren't too many shenanigans as far as those two are concerned.

Chandra took sort of a motherly role to Skye.

And Skye is a very sweet little bluebird... most of the time.

Chandra tries. She really does. But she can't completely keep Skye out of trouble.

When not doing her self-proclaimed duties keeping Chimalus company and sometimes acting as a seeing-eye bird (the scar over Chimalus' eye left them half-blind) Skye loves going Places where Small Birds Should Not Be.

She particularly likes to hide inside teapots. 

Especially when said teapot is on the tea tray of anyone unlucky enough to annoy Chimalus. 

Chandra will sit by whatever table or shelf said tea set is on and hoot incessantly until someone finds Skye and coaxes her out. 

Skye is mildly annoyed by this. But she forgives Chandra every time. 

(Now if only Chandra could get it through her head that small birds do not need to eat anything like mice...) 

Malak and Oswald

(Julian and Damian's familiars)

Oswald is a little fruit bat, a rescue from the Red Market.

He's very smart and dedicated, a Firm Supporter of everything Damian does.

Malak is... well, Malak. He's the worrywart. But he's doing his best.

Oswald helps Damian with his potions and alchemy projects whenever he can, and it’s adorable and Oswald is very good at it. 

Malak has occasionally tried to fetch things for Julian in the same way, but this is a bird who refuses to wash his claws, so Julian won’t have it. It’s unsanitary. (And thank you Brainrot for that amazing headcanon!)

Which inevitably leads to Malak trying to help Damian, which in turn leads to disaster.

Malak does not know what he is doing or what he is grabbing. 

And Malak, by nature, is both very suspicious of strange mysterious liquids and distracted by both shiny things and things that smell nice.

Both of which are abundant in Damian’s alchemy work. 

So not only does he always fail to grab the wrong thing, but he also drops stuff so he can go inspect The Latest Shiny. 

Damian is endlessly patient with him. Oswald is not.

(Malak don't do it don't drop the berries into the potion--)

Julian has needed to clean up after Malak's "help" on more than one occasion.

The most infamous one turned what was supposed to be a burn salve into a pile of stinky orange goo.  

It took a while to clean that up. And even longer to cheer up the very remorseful Malak.

Faust and Forge

(Asra and Meleia's familiars)

Forge is an adorable little fennec fox that Meleia rescued during one of her travels with Asra.

He's a shy little guy, and an absolute sweetheart. He doesn't usually get into trouble.

But he does have a "burrow" under Asra and Meleia's bed.

And he loves to hoard blankets to make his burrow more cozy 

Faust wholeheartedly encourages this. ("Crimes!") 

There was one day when Asra and Meleia found a very fancy blanket in Forge’s nest

Far fancier than anything they owned. 

Asra and Meleia had to use magic to find where it actually belonged. 

Thankfully the blanket was just from the palace, so they could easily return it 

Nadia and Portia ended up gifting the blanket to Forge anyway. 

Faust was rather smug about that. The whole mess was her fault and she is very pleased with the outcome. 

(No one knows how she managed to steal an entire blanket from the palace in the first place) 

Faust: "Teehee!"

i love that red foxes can be polygynous or monogamous. apparently polyandry has been observed too? anyway i love this because it i think it is neat but also as foxes are my fursona i am happy that they aren't 100% always monogamous like many previously thought.

Here's mi design for one the levels! This guy here is Dance of the Incognizant! Part-time shape-shifting bounty hunter! Their code name is Cogni! The least lethal between the bounty-hunter duo that consists of them and Stone Maiden(Granite). They also work part-time at a flower shop(illegally). Dude just really needs enough money lol pls let them catch u 🥺

I've now, finally, finished Persona 5 Royal, and I want to write *all* the fic 😅

And I keep thinking:

In a world where Akechi doesn't shoot Joker in the interrogation room, but joins the Thieves for good then instead, in the months afterwards where they presumably infiltrate Shido's Palace on Akechi's info - I think perhaps Yusuke would be the member of the Phantom Thieves that he gets closest to.

Like- there's still a lingering wariness from Haru and Futaba, for good reason, and I think he's smart enough to be wary of them right back.

And then; Ann's sympathetic, and he hates that, and Ryuji's unflappable enthusiasm grates just a little.

Makoto is the picture perfect image of the role he's been playing all this time, and that's a little disconcerting.

Joker is Joker, and Mona is a cat.

But Yusuke, who's blunt to the point of rudeness and a little detached from everything, is easier.

And that's even before considering the similarities in their situation: Yusuke points out himself in-game that he could have easily gone down the same route, but in thsi scenario Akechi sees he's come through the other side of a very similar experience, mostly unchanged, and that's - reassuring.

I don't know where I'm going with this, other than I would love fic with some out takes of these two bonding and starting to learn to relate to each other.
