We are proud to be co-presenting Victor Schertzinger’s "Forgotten Faces" (1928) at the San Francisco Silent Film Festival’s Day of Silents, Saturday, December 2 at San Francisco’s Castro Theatre. FNF prez Eddie Muller will be introducing the film.

Heliotrope Harry (Clive Brook) and Froggy (William Powell) are partners in crime—genteel armed robbery—at least until the cuckolded Harry commits an even bigger offense. Before Harry goes to prison, he leaves his baby girl on the doorstep of a wealthy couple to keep her out of the clutches of his no-good wife Lilly (Olga Baclanova) and tasks Froggy with keeping close tabs. Sleeping on the floor in a one bedroom apartment I slept in jeans and t-shirt for weeks not because I didn't have clothes but because I was too fucked up to figure out just how to take them off

And my roommate would laugh until I fell down onto the living room floor and waited for the hangover

Do you think instead of destroying statues and paintings of the traitor Primarchs the Imperium just repurposed them? Or far down the line when the memories have faded they were found hidden away and attributed to a loyalist Primarch? Did the returning Primarchs ever see such depictions and know truth but had to keep their mouths shut?

Did Guilliman ever see what he was told was a statue of Corvus Corax recovered damaged from a bombardment but knew instantly he was looking at Konrad Curze from a better time?

Was the Lion ever shown a governors private art collection and see a portrait of Sanguinius but with strangely pale hair and an odd tinge of purple peaking out beneath a thin layer of gold?

Personally I headcanon that this kind of thing is the in-universe reason for the Primarchs looking slightly different in various canon materials. Especially Corax sometimes having his hime cut and sometimes having a more Curze-like hairdo, it was a mix of the imperium trying to cover up the traitors role in shaping the imperium and later generations just forgetting.

Langdon in the Pitt is like what if you showed up to work randomly and met your wife but you already have an actual wife who Dana and Collins think know needs a vacation even though you’re the doctor and two kids and a badly bred dog doodle and a drug addiction you’ve convinced yourself isn’t an addiction and your doppelgänger just showed up and you hate everything about her and your boss won’t give your praise which you need like oxygen and a kid just drowned and your actual wife isn’t happy you’re calling to talk to your son and your doppelgänger knows you’re stealing meds so you miss a dose and your boss now has to fire you and there’s a mass shooting but your wife lights up like a tree on Christmas when she sees you even though the ER is a M.A.S.H. unit now and you’re trying to figure out who knows what and Dana is about to quit but you don’t notice because you’re going to lose your license and your boss is having a breakdown and won’t admit it but he wants you to go to rehab which you desperately do not need.
