1. How many works do you have on AO3? 14! Plus a bunch on fanfiction.net from back in the day...*checks* 23. 23 works on FF.net that I will not share with you unless you are my friend, lol.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 114,162 words

3. What fandoms do you write for? The Empyrean (Fourth Wing) is the only fandom I currently write for, including one crossover with Bridgerton. All of my back-in-the-day fanfiction was for Harry Potter, but I don't write for anything other than the Empyrean anymore.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Just Ask - 1,087 Xaden POV: At Samara - 350 Throne Scene: Xaden POV Microfiction - 170 Dear Brennan - 117 Bridgegiath - 110

5. Do you respond to comments? Yes! At least, I try to. Though when I get an influx of a lot of comments at a time, I get overwhelmed and a little anxious about wanting to respond to them all, and then I get avoidant, heh. So it may not be right away, but I try to respond to as many comments as I can, and often will go back weeks later and then respond to them once I'm less anxious. As any writer will tell you, comments absolutely make my day and I read them over and over again, even going back and reading them days or weeks (or months) later.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Probably Happy Birthday, Violet, which is a drabble I wrote for the "birthday" prompt from the RQ War Games events in June. It's not necessarily angsty so much as sad. (I was hurting again about Liam at the time, lol.) It's tiny and short, you'll be fine.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I have no idea how to answer this. Almost all of them are happy! I think. Uh. Okay @yanny-77 tells me that the answer is Ridoc Talks To The Dragon, and I believe her.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Nope! Well, never on AO3 or Reddit. I got, like...three negative comments on my biggest HP fic on FF.net years ago, but they were only three comments among over 400, so whatever, lol.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes! I have written M/F and M/F/M. I only want to write sex if there are feelings involved, though, so I don't write any pwp. I don't know that I could, to be honest. The only fic I've written that had smut, outside of Just Ask, is canon-compliant TO Just Ask, and leans on the context built in the main longfic, heh. So...therrrrrre you have it!

10. Do you write crossovers? Yes! But only one. Bridgegiath is a Bridgerton-Empyrean crossover fic where all the characters from Fourth Wing are in a Bridgerton-world, more or less following the plot from Bridgerton Season 1. The most common comment type I've gotten on it is "the crossover I didn't know I needed AND I NEED IT SO MUCH", lol. It's hilarious and delightful and I plan to get back to it once the summer is over and I have more time to write again!

Bridgegiath - a Riorgail, Bodoc, Immrick, Jesiam fic, featuring (among all the others), Lady Durranbury as Lady Danbury. It's a blast.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? No

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? I will steal @yanny-77's answer and say that I am not cool enough for that. Lmao

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Hell yes. Co-writing has become my love language. I've co-written with @yanny-77 and @sarahydeart and all four times were fucking awesome.

14. What is your all-time favorite ship? My favourite ship is Liam/Violet/Xaden, for many reasons, which I will list now lol.

I adore each of the dynamics in this triad: the obvious friends-to-lovers, protect-you-with-my-life, slow burn fall of Violet and Liam; the explosive chemistry between Violet and Xaden; and the love that would grow between Xaden and Liam, born of being fostered together after the trauma of losing their parents, being separated for two years when Xaden went to Basgiath, and then meeting again once Liam gets there--and then they both fall for the same person.

I think Liam balances out a lot of Xaden's dark-and-broody energy, and could bring out a more relaxed version of him. And I think Xaden could bring out a harder edge to Liam that would be incredibly sexy. Liam and Violet's dynamic I obviously adore, and I think the way they take care of each other is fucking delightful and healthy and sweet. I think there's such an easy likelihood that both Xaden and Liam would fall for Violet.

I genuinely don't consider either Liam or Xaden to be bisexual, but I think they could fall for each other in this specific scenario, because of the unique dynamic of trust they have with each other.

All of this to say...Liam/Violet/Xaden is my One True Polypairing, heh, and one day I might write it. But that is a very distant, very pipe-dreamy one day.

Shoutout to Harry/Hermione, though. I'll die on that hill to this day.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Oof. I absolutely intend to continue Bridgegiath once I'm less busy, this summer has been absolutely bananas, and I'm REALLY hoping I'll be able to take it to a satisfying conclusion eventually.

16. What are your writing strengths? I have been told, and I think I agree and hope that it's true, that I'm able to wring quite a wide range of emotions out of my readers. I have it on good authority that I can bring you from thrilling tension to desperately turned on to heart-stopping angst without missing a beat, and have a decent eye for knowing when to insert a funny little exchange to ease tension before diving back in.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? I hope I won't lose my fanbase if I honestly say "finishing", heh. Though looking back at my history, I actually did finish both longfics that I wrote for Harry Potter, and I'm on track to finish Just Ask in a timely manner. I'm not too worried about Bridgegiath, because I know I'm much more likely to be invested in it again once I'm done Just Ask. It's just my original stuff that I struggle with I guess...

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I would rely entirely on Google translate if I ever did this, and thus would probably butcher any attempt.

19. First fandom you wrote for? Harry Potter, waaaaay back in 2007, two days after Deathly Hallows came out. I couldn't accept that Harry and Hermione didn't get together. (And I still can't.)

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Just Ask. It's probably the best thing I've ever written. I started writing it to deal with my intense book hangover after Iron Flame, I'm still writing it, and it will be finished before the release of Onyx Storm. I am fiercely proud of it.

I unfortunately picked up Bravely Default 2 again (I bought it back when it released) and then started over since I last played it in June 2021. And. You know what. I like these silly beans. And then I saw concept art for Dag's expressions and I am not the same. Why did they decide to give him huge fangs in it.

Hmmm where do I start

I am really into Chinese bl (danmei). Most danmei are like shounen with the homoerotic undertones, except the sexual tension actually gets paid off!!!

And I say “like shounen” because, unlike Japanese BL, there’s a lot more emphasis on plot when it comes to danmei. Of course, there are also danmei focusing on romance, but the best ones have complex plots you don’t really find in shounen ai/yaoi.

Naming a few mainstream danmei, to start:

Heaven Official’s Blessing = fallen god reascends for the third time and befriends a demon king. Together, they get to the bottom of a lot of scandals in the heavenly court

The Husky and His White Cat Shizun = evil emperor is reborn to the year he was still a teen and is yet to do any evil stuff and once again has to face his loathed master (shizun) and obey him.

Little Mushroom = sentient mushroom takes over dead human body and infiltrates the human base to retrieve his stolen spore

The Earth is Online = humanity is pulled into a death game

Sha Po Lang = ancient industrial Chinese setting (steampunk???) about a prince and his Yifu + war and stuff

And some non-mainstream ones, but are my absolute favorites:

Fourth Perspective = Sci-fi where characters have “logic chains” that grant them random abilities (that may or may not be useful), but with limits. Main character’s logic chain allows him to see other people’s “logic factors”

I Became a God in a Horror Game = Guy who’s obsessed with money gets pulled into a death game and comes out victorious every time (his driving force is money). Very mindblowing arcs and well-written characters

Mermaid Effect = guy picks up “fish” on the beach and keeps it as a pet, but then it turned out to be a biological weapon

Si Tian Guan = guy who died in political drama gets reborn to the year before it all started and vows to not repeat the mistakes of the past and also protect the person most important to him. This one made me cry a lot that I still couldn’t finish it...

It’s like… these stories just happen to have gay protagonists. The characters being gay and in love aren’t their main selling points. They actually have stories to tell outside the romance and the fucking (which is often censored coz, yknow, China) and also explore a variety of deep themes, and that just makes them more interesting to me

global strikes really cannot feasibly be done without support and safety nets for the working class in place. the working class drives the economy and if you are asking people to take off an entire week off work with 4 days notice, you are asking the working class to get fired from their jobs. they are not going to do that. and they are the majority of the people that need to strike to have any kind of economic impact. middle class people who can afford to strike for a week and lose future vacation time aren't going to dent it, esp bc they're still making money bc they're salaried.

like yall it's just..... it's not feasible. you have to plan months, sometimes years in advance to make sure you can successfully carry the working class during a strike.

saw someone refer to a week long strike w 4 days notice as "the bare minimum" you can do and I'm sorry but it's not. you are asking people to give up a quarter of their monthly income and lose their jobs. you need to be cognizant of that.

Oh hell yeah! I could talk about AFTG forever. I always wonder what people think about all my eclectic fandoms. I even slipped a reference to AFTG into Ch 8 of The Underpants Heist. Did you catch it?

I’m not sure how much overlap there is between AFTG and Fourth Wing, but when reading Iron Flame, every time Violet would say “I’m fine,” I’d think of Neil “I’m Fine” Josten. Neither of them was ever fine lmao

I’ve been going hard on AFTG lately because I’ve got TSC brainrot. It’s a big part of the writer’s block I had in April because I just couldn’t make myself think about Bodhi and Ridoc when Jean and Jeremy were right there.

I have a few ideas but I don’t know if they’ll ever leave my head and become actual fics. Before TSC, I never really considered writing fic for AFTG because I wasn’t sure I could do the characters justice. That, and I never wanted to write Riko.

But as I read Jean’s POV, it was like a lightbulb went off in my head. So much of Kevin’s actions and personality make sense now…from giving Nicki shit over chocolate to his attachment to Andrew to immediately asking Neil if he can play. Plus, I absolutely loved Jean’s friendship with Cat and I am so curious about Jeremy. What’s his backstory?

"Your Favorite Headcanon?"

hmmmm. consulting my Misc Headcanons List. i think my top 3 in no particular order are siffrin having OCD, siffrin having chronic fatigue post-loops, and my explanation for loops meta knowledge--

basically that for a very brief moment immediately after their second wish they were Part of the Universe or something, and had a cosmic horror moment of Perceiving Everything. its kind of like mirabelles meeting with the change god, in that they dont remember it, but the vibe of it being a thing that happened is there. its biggest effects (aside from the meta knowledge) are their fourth wall jokes always being accurate (as in always referencing the right medium, always looking in the right direction for "look at camera" jokes, stuff like that) and a higher predisposition to feelings of existential dread.

My favorite scene: Either the proposal or the text thread exchange in which Violet sent the double ring photo. But if I HAD to choose ... probably the text thread. Mostly because it never fails to crack me up. 🤣

My favorite chapter: It's not multichapter, but my favorite POV section (baby chapter!) might be the first Violet/Cat interaction.

Hardest scene to write: ... this whole thing actually word vomited out pretty easily over the course of a week. I didn't actually get too stuck on anything, surprisingly.

Favorite character to write in the fic: Weirdly enough, it might be Sawyer (beyond our two mains, of course, who were both incredibly fun). Also Dain/Halden worked way better than I think ANY of us were expecting ...

Favorite dynamic to write in the fic: Hands down, Violet/Cat. Violet/everyone, really ...

Why I chose that title: It chose itself, really. I was thinking of something cute, lyrically, but sometimes an apple really is just an apple.

A fun fact about the fic: ... other than that it was a slightly unhinged idea I came up with while cooking? Hmmm ... it's the first time I've definitely experienced people trying to tell me what I should do with my idea. Boundary setting was a thing that needed to happen with this fic, even though overall I am very pleasantly surprised with the response to it.

Do I respond to comments? 

Yes, always! Sometimes it takes me a while because I get nervous and sometimes it takes me a while because I want to reread each comment 437534598 times, and I feel weird about re reading AFTER replying. But, I always try to reply, especially if I’m already on AO3 to post something. 

What has the angstiest ending? 

None of my Empyrean fics have angsty endings! My one published marauders fic, If, If, If. does have a pretty angsty ending, but only if you know the marauder's story going in.

What has the happiest ending? 

All my empyrean fics? But going off of what currently has a published ending, I would say Of Mothers and Storms. Although, we get some nice orgasms in To Soothe and Be soothed, so that’s also a happy ending. 

Have I received hate? 

No! And please keep it that way. I think it helps that everyone in this fandom is so damn nice. 

Do I write smut? And what kind? 

I do! I have my Violiaden smut, and also just regular old Riorgail stuff embedded in my longer fics! I want to write more smut actually, and I keep thinking about doing kinktober this year, but that’s scary, so we’ll see. 

Do I write crossovers? 

Not published ones! I have like three pages of a marauders/empyrean crossover that will never see the light of day.

I have a few chapters of a riorgail arranged marriage AU, but working in the canon world was way too hard for me. I have too many questions we don’t know the answers to just yet. I guess MAYBE I’ll finish it once more books are out, but probably not. 

Writing strengths? 

I get a lot of comments saying I write emotions well (which I appreciate SO much). I like to think I’m good at realistic dialogue, if only because it's something I pay a lot of attention to.

Writing weaknesses?

I don’t see the scene very well in my head, so I always forget where people are, and also what they’re wearing. Clothes have been driving me absolutely crazy lately. 

Do I like foreign language dialogue? 

I do! I actually just read my first fic with foreign language dialogue I could actually understand, and that was so much fun! I don’t know if I‘ll ever write any? Just because I don’t think I know enough of any other languages to not butcher it, but maybe one day! (I am so excited for the scene @skyfallscotland promised, where Xaden learns Remi’s understood his Tyrrish, I think about it regularly)

Marauders! 

Favorite fic I’ve written? 

Probably my exchange fic, Homesick. I kept this one in my drafts for a WHILE, and I grew really attached to it to the point that I do not care whatsoever how it performs. It’s my baby, and I love it no matter what.
