Summary: Frankie Esposito has been arrested for murder, Can her lawyer Sam Winchester get her off for the charges before the police can find further evidence? “How did it go?” Frankie asked two weeks later when the guard left her alone in the visitor room with Sam.

“They agreed to throw out the evidence, based on reasonable doubt, but Frankie when they let you out, Dean is gonna make a bigger play for you,” Sam said as he sat down at the table.

“Well then, I’ll have to deal with him,” Frankie shook her head. “Not like that,” She replied upon seeing Sam’s look of shock.

“If you end the relationship with him, he might take whatever he’s found out so far and use that in a case against you. Force you to work for him as an informant, I’ve seen it before,” Sam sighed.

“Then you’ll have to get me out of here,” Frankie grinned as she jested with the lawyer.

“I’m serious Frankie. The family will never take you back if they find out you were dating a cop. What are you going to do?” Sam asked, adjusting his hands and brushing his knuckles against hers.

“Mr. Winchester, are you showing concern for my well being beyond what you are being paid for? Cause the family probably wouldn’t appreciate it if their lawyer caught feelings for one of their employees,” She reached out and curled two fingers against his hand. “If the Don ever found out that your brother was a cop they’d kill you both.”

“I know, that’s why I’ve never said anything. I’ve made a decision,” Sam announced as he stood up abruptly. Frankie turned her head up to look at the very tall man. “I’m going to help you escape,” And with that, he leaned down and kissed her deeply before exiting the secured room.

Frankie sat there for a moment stunned before she heard Sam talking to the guard outside the room. He was buying her time. She tongued the small key that Sam had just passed to her out of her cheek and leaned forward to grab it with her hands that were handcuffed to the table in front of her. She chuckled as she used the key that Sam had probably gotten from his brother to unlock her handcuffs before standing from the table and walking to the door.

The guard that Sam was talking to had his back to the door and Frankie took her opportunity. With the handcuffs, she pulled them under the guard's neck and pulled his back to her until she applied enough pressure to incapacitate the heavyset man.

“I hope you were stalling so that I could join you,” Frankie teased Sam as he took the guards keys to get them out of the building. “Do you have a plan to get me out of here? Cause I don’t think the front door is going to work.”

“I have a plan, do you trust me?” He asked, grabbing her hand.

“With my life,” She responded before being lead to where a serious commotion was taking place. She recognized several of the people in the scuffle at the County lockup as people that Sam had represented. Sam led her past all of that and pulled her into the main bathroom just past where the rest of the guards should have been stationed.

“Put on those clothes,” Sam pointed. “There is a wig in there too.”

“Apparently my case wasn’t going as well as you thought it was,” Frankie smirked as she stripped her clothes off and put on the new apparel.

“The don said you were getting out or you were committing suicide. I had to make a choice,” Sam said without looking at her. “Hurry up before the riot ends.”

“Ready,” Frankie said. She wasn’t a very convincing blonde, but she had seen people get away with worse. “Now what?”

“Now you walk out the front door. Should be fine,” Sam handed her a visitor’s badge and walked out of the bathroom. Frankie shrugged and donned the lanyard before walking past all the cops and out of the sheriff’s office. She found Sam parked not far away and got into the car with him.

“Let’s get the hell out of here,” She said, and Sam drove to her apartment.

2021 Year In Review

(stealing this format from a review I did for last year. It was a tag game I think but I’m too lazy to start that up. I say after writing all this out, haha.)

Top Five Films you watched in 2021:

Your Name, 2016 (the animation! The music! The angst! Ahhhhhhhh)

Dune, 2021 (absolutely stunning, cannot recommend enough, whether or not you’ve read the book)

Wolfwalkers, 2020 (I loved the first two films in the Irish Mythology trilogy and this one completely blew me away)

Black Widow, 2021 (found family, no romantic subplots which is practically unheard of, women kicking ass, and a canon ace character? Sign me tf up)

Weathering With You, 2019 (utterly adorable and I listened to The Great Escape afterwards on repeat for hours)

Top Five TV Shows in 2021:

The Dragon Prince (Yes, we’ve been on hiatus for like 2 years. No, I don’t care. I rewatched it enough times to count)

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (recommended by @starsinyourskyes in retaliation for getting her hooked on the Stormlight Archive. Well, it worked. I’m obsessed, and I am absolute Royai trash)

Derry Girls (recommend by @iwillhaveamoonbase and her plethora of Sister Michael gifs. I laughed, I cried, good times)

The Wheel of Time (Siuanraine for the WIN. Also we're getting Aviendha next season right? Right??)

Homeward Bound by @numptypylon (The Dragon Prince, an ongoing slow-burn Rayllum modern AU. It’s got fluff, it’s got angst, it’s got hurt/comfort, it’s got Rayllum being dorks--the emotional bandwith is both deep and wide!!)

delicate by @lantur (FMA, a Riza Hawkeye character study spanning from pre-canon childhood to well post-canon. Plenty of Royai, naturally. Words cannot give justice to how good this fic is and how much I love it!)

snipers solve 99% of all problems by silentwalrus (okay so like. I’m not usually a crossover person but holyyyy frick frack this FMA/Harry Potter one is fun. Still ongoing and basically 80 chapters of Edward Elric bitching about wizards and saying fuck 3,000 times. I hadn’t laughed this hard since I read The Martian.)

Son of Thorns by @truthwatcher-vez (The Stormlight Archive; I’m admittedly wayyy behind on this one, but it’s a post-RoW fic centered on Renarin Kholin. He definitely deserves some time to shine after we were robbed of content for him in RoW 😤 The author’s Rlainarin series, Chasms Between, is also excellent!)

Controlled Burn by madelinescribbles @okiedoketm (FMA role reversal where Al & Ed are climbing the ranks of the military and Roy commits human transmutation, blinding himself and getting Riza stuck in a taxidermy hawk. Ongoing fic, the characterization is soooo on point despite the role reversal, and the plot is so intriguing!)

Five good/positive things that happened to you in 2021

Seeing friends again!! I got to go visit a good college friend I hadn't seen in years since we graduated, and another friend I'd only seen once since we graduated came to visit twice! (Why do all my friends live across the country?)

I wrote. So much. Fanfiction 🤣 Hit a major slump this fall when rising COVID cases in my area started to make work hellish again, but I'm starting to get back into it!

Started therapy for the first time back in May. Also recently started a new antidepressant, after a bad adverse reaction scared me off from them for a while. Still have a long ways to go, but I'm feeling much better, and I haven't had an anxiety attack at work since.

Realized I'm asexual! Which explains soooo much about my life 🤣 Still coming to terms with it in some respects, but simply knowing brings so much peace and pride in my identity.

I got a Tumblr in 2020 but this was the year I really started becoming active in a few fandoms and really connecting with people on here! It's been a blast, and I love freaking out about shared interests with you all💕

ah man i didn't feel bad but now i feel bad for making you feel bad—look, i really made an effort to give credit to simpskywalker at every available opportunity, and I didn't find anything rude in your phrasing but I did find the overall concept of unfairly taking credit for macenjar hilarious, NOT because it's pedantic (I include credit with links to all my cursed rarepair posts, and meticulously number my aus) but because the idea of unfairly taking credit for macenjar is, in of itself, a humorous thing to spend time arguing about, which is why I enjoy spending time arguing about it, which is why i was reblogging posts about other people's second level confusion, and why i am re-reblogging those posts.

in summary, poking fun at the ask you sent in wasn't intended harshly and wasn't because i was upset, giving credit to fancontent creator's wherever possible is the objectively cool thing to do.

From pretty much the first second Bucky steps onto the stage of the tiny, rundown venue, he can't stop noticing the guy in the corner booth.

He looks a little young to be in a bar, but the books and papers spread across the entire table scream grad student. His fluffy hair looks perfect for running fingers through, and he chews on his lip while he scribbles nearly frantically in his notebook.

Bucky may almost fall off the tiny stage, once or twice over the course of the show, he’s so busy staring. He also might run into Steve a couple times.

At least he doesn’t have to worry about the cute guy noticing his sudden lack of grace, Bucky is pretty sure he doesn’t once looked up from his book the entire night.

Bucky is sitting at the bar for the band’s usual post-show drink, working up the nerve to actually do something about it, when Steve elbows him in the ribs.

“Are you actually going to go talk to him, or just stare like a creeper all night?” Steve asks,one eyebrow raised pointedly.

“I’m working on it,” Bucky grumbles, but it takes Steve elbowing him again before he downs the rest of his beer and pushes away from the bar.

"Why's he so twitchy?" Sam asks, shooting a look over at where Bucky is pacing in sporadic circles around the backstage area, chain smoking and running his hands through his hair until it nearly stands on end.

Steve glances up from his guitar, then smirks widely as he says "He invited Tony."

Sam looks confused for a second, and then his nose wrinkles a little as he asks "The kid who did homework through our whole set last week?"

"He's so smart, Sam!" Bucky screams and then nearly trips over an amp when he looks up from his nervous pacing for too long and fails to dodge the equipment scattered everywhere.

"You've mentioned that, buddy!" Steve calls back, and then mimes gagging.

Tony sits at the same table, in the back corner, and he doesn't bring homework this time.Bucky can feel his eyes on him the entire show.

When he gets off stage Tony has a wide smile on his face and an extra beer on the table in front of him, obviously waiting for Bucky.

“I like the way you didn’t almost fall off the stage this time,” Tony says in greeting, eyes bright and teasing.

“I didn’t think you saw that,” Bucky groans miserably as he drops into the booth across from Tony, cheeks warming.

“Oh I definitely did, and I am never letting it go,” Tony says with a soft laugh, and Bucky finds that he really doesn’t mind.

They end up in the alley behind the bar, making out and pawing at each other furiously.

Bucky knows, in the back of his mind, that this alley is disgusting. He complains about it every time they unload or reload their gear from the van, but right now all he knows is Tony.

Tony’s fingers against his jaw, tangling in his hair, Tony’s lips soft and warm against his and the way he opens so sweet when Bucky kisses him harder.

The way Tony whines softly when Bucky presses in closer, hitches him up a little higher against the wall, and the way it forces an answering groan out of Bucky’s chest when one of Tony’s legs wraps up around his hip.

Tony is the one who practically tears their pants open, hands clumsy and nearly shaking with desperation in the minimal space between their bodies, and Bucky groans softly in relief as his cock is freed from the tight denim. He takes them both in hand and swallows the noise that bursts out of Tony’s throat, jerks them both off quick and messy while Tony claws at him and rocks into his grip, moans and gasps against his lips.

When Tony comes he tosses his head back against the rough brick with a shaking cry, his hair a mess and fingers digging into Bucky’s shoulders through his jacket while Bucky bites at the curve of his jaw. Tony tugs him into a kiss and Bucky ruts against him harder, growls his way through his own orgasm until he’s left panting weakly.

When Bucky slumps against him Tony just laughs and presses his fingers into Bucky’s hair, pulls him into another kiss that’s lazy and sweet.

They break apart slowly, still pressed in close and sharing the same air as the chill of the night slowly starts sinking into the warm little bubble they've created for themselves.

"Well, should we go finish our beer?" Tony asks with a crooked little grin, and Bucky huffs out a soft laugh at the mention of the half-full mugs still sitting abandoned on the table.

Then he looks down at the mess of their cum slowly cooling on his hand, and their pants, and his shirt, and then fixes Tony with a flat look.

“Or, my place isn’t far,” Tony suggests, a hopeful light in his eyes.

Bucky spares a brief thought for how pissed the rest of the band will be if he just bails, and quickly decides that it's more than worth it.

"Lead the way," Bucky says, and Tony smiles, and yeah, totally worth it. Even if he just knows he's going to end up loading and unloading the van by himself for the next several shows.
