Hello, french anon here. For so many years, I have told you that I needed your wisdom and guidance to finally understand trc's ending. At last, we are finally starting to get to the confusion of all confusions. But I am slowly realising that my confusion was partly due to the fact that I know NOTHING about ccs (or any other Clamp's works) and had never seen these characters before. Having trc being my first Clamp's work was in insight, not really the best I suppose ¯\_(. . )_/¯

Also, over the years I have developed a deep hatred of all time shenanigans, because it LITERRALY cause me terrible headaches to try to understand it (is it the autism? the adhd? Am I just stupid? Mystery), so i've avoided going other this arc again. Hope with your explanations i will finally have closure.

Thank you French Anon! I SINCERELY hope I can make any sense of it whatsoever once we get there. The Confusion is definitely not any reflection on you though - if a manga is infamous for being deliberately difficult to understand, you can never be faulted for not being able to do it on the first try. Or the second. Or ever.

And it IS a limitation of Tsubasa that it's written this way. You can't go to anyone and say, "Hey, maybe you should read Tsubasa! You might like it!" when you have to follow it up with the disclaimer of, "Oh, but wait, have you read Cardcaptor Sakura? You should probably read all of that first - and specifically the manga, and not the anime. Also you have to read xxxHolic at the same time otherwise the plotline of Tsubasa won't make sense. Oh and it would be even clearer if you had also read some other of CLAMP's works, specifically their longest ones, which are much harder to find these days. Read as much of those as possible before even starting Tsubasa."

Like I LOVE Tsubasa dearly and I genuinely think it's the greatest manga I've ever read, but I also think you should NOT have a list of required reading you have to get through in order to understand a book you're reading for fun in your free time.

And shout out to @motswolo who, whilst we were waiting for a bus in London, solved my major plot issue regarding the villain as if I wasn’t struggling with it for over a year.

You can have beef with Barty, it was a pretty shit move. Like, even if he didn’t think Rel would ever give Evan a chance, she still should have been off bounds as someone one of his mates really likes. I guess the only consolation for Evan is that he performed so well Rel came back for seconds and thirds, despite being initially aversed to him 😏

I would absolutely accept a live laugh law mug if one were given to me.

A couple years ago my company’s holiday swag included a really nice travel mug with the company logo on it, so that’s what I use most days.

My most interesting mugs were given to me when I was working at the water and sewer utility and serving as the utility’s representative on a local government commission. There’s a very powerful industry group in the area and every year they gift coffee mugs with paintings related to their industry to every government official in the region. I have three very beautiful mugs from them that were mailed to me in boxes addressed to “Commissioner [Miro’s Last Name]” which no one ever called me outside of votes on the commission. I am still tickled by it and still enjoy trotting out the story when I serve guests coffee.

The funniest thing for me regarding egg-chan, is that I have absolutely no memories of what happens with it. Did I read the series multiple times? Yes. About the headcanon, yes, of course. I can elaborate. ^-^ As much as I see them as a loving and caring partner, I also think they aren't afraid of conflict and would not avoid it. They wouldn't give you the "silent treatment", nor would they get into raising their voice... Instead, I imagine their defensive reaction to be b*tchiness. Their words would definitively sting, and they would be unfairly using things against you. Not your identity, or your vulnerabilities, or anything important like that, but more... You know, the little routine things of a daily life. Such as the moments you may have felt embarassed, the mistakes you have made - that one time they took the public blame for something you have done, or that you accidentally shredded a script they should have been learning, or that you were late for a date.... Or what not.

They would never be insulting or turning against you the secrets/vulnerabilities/insecurities you would have confided to them, but the rest? Be ready to hear about that one time you lost their bracelet when they had let you borrowing it.

It would sting, but just for a while. Because once they would have calmed down, well, they would apologize. Kind of. Do not expect grand apologies, they are rather proud and proud persons... Have difficulties apologizing. But you would know the conflict time is over, through cuddles and kisses.

With time, learning to know them, you would also learn not to take those little sharp arguments to much at heart - their b*tchiness would be just that: The heath of the moment and of the emotional, words one doesn't mean, during silly conflicts ending up solved. ^-^

But yeah: They scratch and bite. ;)

Ok to be honest, I did not understand what was so bad about James getting clean for Reg by the power of love and everything. I thought it was a bit sad but still OK, but the other ask made me realize that if it was that easy, James would have indeed done it for his son. And also, when I re-read the fic, it became clearer as Poppy told James he needs to focus on HIM first... So yeah, I'm scarred now, even more after doing my homework and catching up on Tumblr and seeing you promised more angst... 🥴🥴

And! Reg does not know that James has not been as clean as he thinks! 😭 And the half-empty bottle in the closet is still here... 🥴

We're joking about Reg falling in love super fast with James but part of me also wonders if it's not linked to his fallout with Sirius. I'm not saying that James is a replacement, but something like this, if you get what I mean.

If James could be like this now, then he could stay like this forever and prove to Regulus that he was a good enough reason to get clean for, in a way he never was for his brother.

The first paragraph, yes!!! And I kind of think Regulus is and isn’t responsible for this…

It was okay when Regulus was like a taste of normalcy (?Is that a word?) for James and the motivation to quit because he too wants a job, a house and evenings in front of TV.

Then it started going downhill rapidly and tbh James was doomed from the moment he chose to stay with Regulus over leaving with Sirius. Like, he didn’t do it to get clean like Regulus thinks and now that I think back on it, Regulus should have properly established some boundaries there and then. He was no longer left with James because of Sirius… he made an active choice to have him around and should have thought more about what that means.

I consciously made sure James wasn’t Regulus’ patient at any point in the beginning of the fic, cause I think that would have been a little bit creepy (for me at least), but Regulus almost immediately started acting like James’ doctor: doing his injections, making sure he eats, taking him to the dentist. It happened kind of naturally, but then as soon as feelings came into play (which Regulus did not predict lol) all the doctoring stopped. We went from Regulus not wanting to disclose even what his favourite animal is to them two sleeping together in a space of weeks!!!

And Regulus knows relationships shouldn’t be on James’ mind!! And Poppy points it out too, but obviously at that point it’s kind of too late - breaking things off with James would be equally disastrous and likely lead to a massive relapse (especially if you think James would go back to live with happily in love Wolfstar)… thankfully Regulus saved the day by providing an alternative which surely is guaranteed to work out.. 🫥

1: I do! He's a possible pug-bulldog mix, but we genuinely don't know. 2: Personally I'M more of a dog person, but I don't mind cats either! 3: Uhhh... Not a lot honestly! My partner knows more about cats than I do. Most of the information I get about cats/involving cats is from the internet. 4: S'been good! Terrible yesterday night, but getting better today!
