Happy one year anniversary to the comic! I’m so glad you could come along for the ride! We’ve got some stuff planned for today, like lore dumps and art, and a super special surprise that you can participate in!

Having had this story and these characters as a kid, it really does feel like an accomplishment now that we’ve got this comic finally out there for others to read. This story just means so much to us, through all its incarnations.

So! Below are several links to programs and foundations that promote adult literacy! Hundreds of millions of adults world wide were failed by their education system and now must fend for themselves while trying to read contracts and hospital bills and infographics from the CDC. But they don't have to be alone, and it is never too late to learn!

ProLiteracy: A network of educators, researchers, and advocates which provides research reports, learning materials, and other support to adult education programs. They assist with connecting volunteers to local programs and provide guidance and support to community leaders trying to use their programs' findings to advocate for social and political change.

Adult Literacy League: An adult education program in Central Florida, which aims to provide students with one on one attention to foster growth and confidence. It also offers English Second Language courses and job skills training, and each new student receives a comprehensive assessment to determine the best plan for them.

Saint Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center's Foundational Skills Program: A 100% free adult education program aimed at adults reading below a fifth grade level. It operates year round and is either in person or remote, and they now have a GED testing center that is open to students and the public alike.

Washtenaw Literacy: A free network of trained tutors for adults in Washtenaw County, Michigan.

Adult Learning Program (Las Vegas/Clark County): Free education classes to those lacking a high school diploma, those seeking to learn ESL, and adults who read below an eighth grade level. Also assists in students' search for gainful employment. Nevada got so fucked by COVID and the education/literacy numbers in the South West are grim. Please help these guys.

Hawaii Literacy: In addition to helping adult residents of Hawaii Island learn to read and write AND bridging the education gap in Hawaii's underserved children, they offer computer literacy classes, ESL classes, and a bookmobile. 1 in 6 Hawaiian adults struggle to read and write.

Another one shot for the inventor!stalker!reader miniseries. This one takes place at the beginning of the reader's involvement with P. An event which shows that Carlo never mentioned them to his father for their own sake, or that his father simply never listened to him.

They placed a hand on the small of his back as they waited for P to sit down on the chair in front of them. He had taken quite some damage during their last fight, something that felt so unfair, knowing what his triumph would mean for the people of Krat. "Thank you for bringing my son back," Geppetto said as he placed his hand on the young man's shoulder. "No need to thank me, sir. I consider it to be my duty to support those who fight for Krat. Especially someone like him," [Name} replied, while bowing slightly. A gesture that made them want to vomit, to look at the men with disgusted eyes. His son, of course. Sure, that is what he is to him. "Give us a moment, I want to talk to them in private." Geppetto removed his hand from the puppet, gesturing at him to remain seated in the chair before he walked towards the open door of his office. What does he want from them? Since the day they decided to stay in the hotel and engage the residents and P, he had never spoken to the them. Did he have nothing to say to them, to the person who had been his son's lover? Carlo's lover. "P, have a rest now. I will be back later," they whispered softly to the puppet, a hand cupping one of his cheeks. Their feelings for him were really beginning to grow.

[Name] pulled their hand away from his soft skin to finally follow Geppetto. "What do you want to talk about, sir?", they asked in a calm and respectful tone, hiding the disgust and anger behind their words. "I was wondering, did you go to the Monad Charity school, child?". "Yes, sir." "I see. Well then. Forgive me for asking, but did you know my son, Carlo?" The question hit them like a puppet's metallic punch. He doesn't know? He doesn't know that they, alongside Romeo, were the one who showed Carlo affection, who cared for him as he deserved, who loved him from the bottom of their heart. He really doesn't know that it was them who brought him joy and happiness. For a moment, Geppetto had to wait for their answer, watching them with a raised eyebrow. [Name] swallowed deeply, trying to force the lump out of their throat. They bit their lips in an uncomfortable manner before finally managing to utter their words. "I'm sorry sir, I heard about Carlo and I must admit I saw him a few times but…", they tried their hardest to hold back the truth, "I never really interacted with him." "I see, my apologies child." "It's all right, sir. Please accept my most sincere condolences for your loss," [Name] somehow managed to say. They were ready to leave, actually they had to leave, but before they could do so, Geppetto gave them one final reply. "Thank you child, you have no idea how it felt to lose him. And then something shattered, shattered in their mind and heart. With quick steps, they left the room and made their way down the stairs to the entrance of the hotel.

They made sure that the door closed behind them before they slammed their fists against one of its walls. Again and again. Eyes filled with tears, their breath out of control, choppy cries escaping their lips. They screamed, they cried, they hid the wall. Over and over and over again. How does he dare, dare to say that they have no idea how his lost feels? He? He who never bothered? Who never cared when Carlo was still alive, when he needed his father's attention and love. He who had to see his son die in order to finally be a father.

It hurts. It hurts so much.

It hurts to know that you are the one who suffers most from losing the one you loved.

I forgot the name of the fanfic, when I try finding it with tags IT AIN'T POPPING OUT😭😭 THE FIC WAS LIKE A WHOLESOME ONE COOKING ONE AND MODERN AU IT'S LIKE THIS qinghua is a single parent to luo binghe who Is originally his nephew(umm maybe not I don't remember well lol) qinghua suck at cooking but one day he discover a cooking channel(spoiler alert mobei jun cooking channel lol) he find that the cooking videos was easy convenient not that hard and start to follow the channel cooking lesson he now doesn't suck at cooking lol, one day he meet the mobei jun when at the grocery store while shopping for ingredients ( I forgot to mention that mobei jun doesn't show his face on the video pretty sure just his and and asmr or sound lol) qinghua recognize the hands to be the owner of the yt cooking channel he follow and idk the rest they just got closer and closer and start living together(pretty sure they date too) and at the end of the fic qinghua and luo binghe now help mobei jun with his cooking channel you can sometimes see luo binghe tiny hands and he keep appearing a lot after that and also qinghua voice sometimes can be heard while helping recording the videos!!! Everyone speculate that qinghua is his partner with the tiny child (luo binghe) being mobei son(but yea he is lol)

I think that part of what like. kills me about the whole media literacy and critical thinking aspect of enjoying media these days is that people refuse to like. contextualize that

A. Bad media can still hold significant meaning to people

B. Media made for a demographic you aren’t apart of is not inherently bad media

C. Media made for and consumed by the opposite demographic is not inherently shallow or flawed nor is it above criticism for its media tropes either.

Since ofmd is officially over, where does all the money donated go? This is not just a question for the fandom bit in general when ur raising money for a renewal but it fails.

so i mean, in general when a renewal campaign "fails" we dont usually get the showrunner saying outright "yeah the show isnt getting picked up, im sorry guys." like im pretty sure that most of the time, money that's raised for a campaign like this just gets collected and spent without there ever being an official announcement from the showrunners that fans should stop campaigning.

as far as the money that was raised for the first billboard back in january, all the money that was collected is long gone now bc it was spent on the billboard, the truck, the plane flyover, and the charity donations. and like, everyone who donated to that campaign knew that's where the money was going, and they knew there was a chance that the renewal campaign wouldn't work. so even tho the money they raised is gone, the ppl who donated technically got what they paid for.

when it comes to the second billboard, i have no idea what the plan is there. as far as im aware that fundraising effort is (was??) still ongoing, so djenks saying it's over kinda throws a wrench in that process. im not actually associated w the ppl collecting money for the second billboard, nor have i personally contributed to that campaign (or to the first campaign either, ftr), so i have no input or insight as to what's gonna happen w that money going forward. if u want more concrete info abt what's going on with that money you'd wanna ask @saveofmdcrewmates

from what i can tell tho, there are a few options as to what they could do with the money: they could ignore david's message and run the billboard as planned, they could forget the billboard and donate the money to charity, or they could run the billboard but change the messaging to something else. they might even be able to give some of the money back to the people who contributed?? that might be hard tho, idk what platform they were using to collect the money and i have no idea if they're even able to like, refund people. idk if the people who donated would even want their money back, or if they would rather the money still be used for the billboard, or be repurposed for something else. like i said, i didnt donate and i have nothing to do with the ppl raising the money so it rlly doesn't matter to me at all what happens.
