Author's Note and Transcript Under the Cut

(AN: Hello! Thank you for stopping by and checking out my fledgling fundie simblr. I’m by no means new to simblr, but because this blog and story is new, I figure an introduction is due.

So: hey, I’m Talia! I had another fundie simblr a few years back (it’s now inactive for a multitude of reasons), but like a certain someone, I have risen again! My fundie sims obsession was reignited over the summer after I joined a wonderful fundie sims-themed Discord server. Somehow they convinced me to make a new blog, and a few months later, here we are! In the intervening years I continued to lurk, so if you’re an active fundie simblr, I’m probably a fan of your story.

I’ve been playing the de la Cruz family for a while now and they have a special place in my heart- I can’t wait to share them with everyone else! Get ready for lots of God-honoring drama, mildly dubious baby names, and leopard-print modesty undershirts. Note that as the de la Cruzes are fundamentalists and this story is satire-heavy, there will be some viewpoints expressed that I very much disagree with. I’ll trigger tag certain sensitive subjects (e.g. physical violence, miscarriages) as ‘tw [thing]’ but fundie-typical bullshit will go untagged for the sake of my sanity.

Some basic housekeeping stuff to wrap up this far-too-long intro note: I have a queue full of posts ready to go, but I’m a busy student with unpleasant things like homework and AP classes, so I’m still not sure how frequently I’ll post. I’ll do my best to ensure that stays consistent, though, and if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out via my askbox or DMs!)

PRAISING HIM!

Every Sunday, Praising Him! features a family dedicated to spreading the Word. Today we meet the de la Cruzes, a San Sequoian family of 16.

When Alejandro and Alina (née Fletcher) de la Cruz married at nineteen, they could not have imagined what would come next! Over the past twenty-six years, the couple has made faith the centerpiece of their lives, and has continued to “Praise Him!” through the ups and downs of busy family life.

Alejandro, 45, works as a programmer at United Christian Publishers, and holds a Distinguished Degree in Computer Science from Foxbury Christian University. He began his journey into higher education not at 18, like many students, but at 26, shortly after the birth of his seventhborn, Cecilia! Owing to his unique circumstances, he chose to enroll in a six-year program that enabled him to work full-time as a freelance programmer in addition to his courseload. Though money was tight at times, the Lord provided, and Alejandro welcomed five bundles of joy (including a darling set of twins!) with wife Alina while enrolled at Foxbury. Whew!

Alina, 45, has chosen to fulfill God’s design for women by staying at home with her family. Raised in a devout household, she always knew He was calling her toward marriage and motherhood, and she says the “greatest blessing” in her life was the day she gave birth to her eldest son Gabriel, ten months after her wedding day and just shy of her twentieth birthday. In addition to raising and homeschooling the seven de la Cruz children who have yet to graduate, Alina is active in her church and in Institute for Strong Christian Standards (ISCS) circles, and enjoys spending time with her four (soon to be five!) beautiful grandbabies. A true Proverbs 31 woman if we’ve ever seen one!

You may recognize Gabriel de la Cruz and his lovely wife Esther, 23, from last summer’s print edition of Praising Him! At just 25, Gabriel is a rising star in the Christian legal world, coming to the aid of innocent Simericans simply trying to practice their faith. Ten months ago, they welcomed their first little girl, Abigail, and just last week they announced the upcoming arrival of their second child! Congratulations to them.

Althea Brown (née de la Cruz), 24, is following in her mother’s footsteps and proud of it! The young woman, who wed husband John-David, 28, three years ago, resides in Newcrest and is a content stay-at-home-mother of two.

Jasmine Booth (née de la Cruz), 23, known to friends and family as “Jazzy,” is enjoying the bliss of new parenthood alongside her husband of two years, Jason!

The first set of de la Cruz twins, Joshua and Sofia, 21, are both unattached and living at home. Sofia is pursuing a calling in missionary work, and Joshua is hard at work saving money and praying for his future family. “If you’re reading this as a young Christian woman,” Sofia jests, “have your father write into Praising Him! and I’ll set up a date with Josh!”

Caterina de la Cruz, 20, is diligently knitting, crocheting, sewing, embroidering, and cross-stitching her way through her season of singleness! Though she prays every day for her Prince Charming (nonbelievers need not apply!), she assures Praising Him! that she’s quite content to assist her mother in running the busy de la Cruz household in the interim.

Cecilia de la Cruz, 18, the only unmarried de la Cruz not living at home, declined to comment.

The rest of the de la Cruz children, who range in age from 8 to 17, are kept busy with homeschooling, ISCS conferences, music practice, and Bible study.

Knight: What? What are you gawking at???

FS: I...I just haven't seen you wear that outfit in a long time. I think the last was...when you had long hair.

Knight: Well, today is a "special occasion". Not that I think I should dress up like this for it, but it's what he expects.

FS: Special occasion? He? What's going on?

Knight: *heavy sigh*

⭑.ᐟ Asteroid Hehe (200002) was discovered in 2007 by XuYi. This Asteroid is named after a Chinese symbol. Hehe is a symbol in Chinese that means "harmony", which represents good marriage. In the culture, it is apparently a tradition for them to put this symbol in wedding ceremonies to wish the couples good luck in their marriages.

⭑.ᐟ In this case, the asteroid represents a good marriage, our marriage life, etc. In Natal Chart, it represents the same thing, but simply on how it can influence us. An Asteroid in the Natal Chart often just tells us a quick part about it. It can gives us hints about it but it will be limited.

⭑.ᐟ Therefore, if we want to know more about it, we "zoom" in, and calculate the Persona Chart of your Hehe placement in our Natal Chart (each PC of yours can be seen this way as well). The Persona Chart will so explain to us how your marriage will be like.

Also, I think Sephiroth just had a weird Jenova-esque freakout in Dragon Quest as well, and I can’t tell if this is another possible spoiler because he has been acting possessed and abnormal in FS under the purple wisps, but in this, Seph really starts losing it….?

(Playthrough translation by @murasaki0615 and their name is Sephiroth’s Bangs, so if you see that name, it’s them)

We got the usual EC style crossover where Cloud and Co meet young Sephiroth in this different world, get confused for half a second, and then move on to team-up and figure out how to escape. Cloud and Sephiroth get along well.

Cuties.

But in between, Sephiroth keeps mentioning “premonitions” that he’s getting?

And it doesn’t stop until…

Bro is actually screaming wtf, and the screen floods with purple light? And he gets his sword ready? 💀

SHDHDJ so he got mind-thrashed by some purple power and the portal zapped him away and that’s where it ends for now. I know I said I wasn’t gonna recap until it was finished but dammit, this is so interesting. Is it a reference to something in EC that WILL happen or is it just a dramatic callback to Sephiroth’s crazy behavior in the Robio so far. Idk.

FIRST SOLDIER EPISODE 2: CHAPTER 1

It's finally time! We were waiting FOREVER. I know you guys are very excited for Babygeal and Miniroth's first adventure together. So I'm recapping what you might have missed if you weren't able to see the chapter! Let's go!!!!

We open on the mysterious woods, a hooded figure staggering around wheezing and gasping. He's in some sort of ruins location. He drops a video camera cutting to images of sephiroth in fire and flashing forward to glimpses of scenes we'll see later in the story. We see Sephiroth, Angeal, and a Lucrecia-looking character named ALISSA. A new soldier ally? But she looks a LOT like Lucrecia so it's weird. A new friend? Or something...else?

Alissa is shown to be mentioning something about Sephiroth taking a magic sword (Masamune) and how it will empower him. Or, as she puts it, CHANGE THE WORLD. More clips from the trailer.

We cut to the present with Miniroth sleeping on the helicopter. Angeal disturbs his sleep like we saw before. It's still 1992 btw so not too much later than the Rhadore mission.

Miniroth is grumpy. Camera guy is here too--his name is Bachman.

Angeal is SIXTEEN also btw if you're wondering. Seph is prob 14 or 15.

Angeal keeps yapping and LMAO he's already talking about dumbapples. Miniroth is super annoyed and keeps blowing him off.

Angeal guesses that Seph has ever been lectured before and Miniroth FLASHES BACK TO GLENN. I'm already sad.

Bachman is reminiscing like this is a documentary he's looking back on. Angeal and Sephiroth land in September of 1992 into the ruins of Robio, on the southern tip of Wutai. Their objective is to find a bunch of missing soldiers.

Bachman is with the Shinra Records and Archives division. Sephiroth already hates being filmed. Bachman is basically there for propaganda reasons. Sephiroth WILL NOT humor his questions and is getting increasingly pissy.

Angeal is determined to find the missing soldiers no matter what. Four missing soldiers.

A monster appears! Sephiroth doesn't want to fight with the cameras rolling so Angeal steps in to fight for him. Angeal asks why Sephiroth didn't fight, Sephiroth says that Angeal had it handled. Bachman keeps hassling them for PR footage. Sephiroth was not informed about being filmed and is sulking. The guy is DONE.

They enter the Igara Forbidden Zone. It's a spooky place. Shinra thinks they're hiding something there. This is where the soldiers went missing. Angeal guesses there's some evil sort of entity in the area. Sephiroth is checked out.

Angeal tries to get Seph to cut loose. There's tension between them. Seph won't open up. The incident with Glenn really hurt him. He doesn't trust anyone.

Angeal spots something. It's a soldier and he's dead. Angeal is sad. He knew this guy and he was one of his friends. Angeal says they'll bring the body back later. They have to find the others.

They trek deeper into the Forbidden Zone. Angeal leads the way. ANOTHER body! That's 2/4 soldiers found.

Bachman brings up the Rhadore mission. Sephiroth flashes back again to the FS trio being kind to him. Sephiroth lies about how close he was to them, pretending he never got emotionally involved. But even then, Sephiroth is upset af when they are called traitors to Shinra. It's weighing on him.

Sephiroth tells Angeal that he's a special soldier. He's the only one who can speak freely to Professor Hojo. He warns Angeal THEY'LL NEVER BE FRIENDS (lol). Hojo must have done some shit to Seph before this mission, since he's so closed off. Angeal muses that being around Hojo must have fucked up Sephiroth's personality.

A third dead soldier found. Sephiroth still doesn't want to fight when monsters show up. Peak Grumpyroth. Only one more soldier left to find.

Sephiroth says that the wound on the body was made with a blade, the same as the other bodies. A PERSON killed the soldiers, not monsters. Angeal wants Seph to help him out and share intel. Sephiroth is not being agreeable.

They take a short break. Bachman brings up being friends with soldiers and says that Seph keeps to himself. Angeal lectures on TEAMWORK. Seph blows him off again. Sephiroth brute forces his way through without teamwork.

Angeal says he always wanted to work with Seph. He says if they can't be friends then at least comrades? Sephiroth keeps depersonalizing himself. He keeps calling himself just a "weapon" or a "machine". Angeal is DETERMINED to be his friend no matter what. They can get stronger through bonds. But Sephiroth is still depressed and checked out.

Lol they talk about ninjas. Angeal has fought them in simulations.

FUCKING HOJO JUMPSCARE. Seph flashback of fighting in simulations with Hojo overlooking his training. Angeal's data was included to test how Sephiroth operates with a team. Huh. Angeal was apparently partners with Seph in those simulations due to rankings. LOL GEN NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO PLACE I GUESS.

Angeal senses something's not right about this place (NO YOU THINK?). They talk about Soldier Intuition. Camera man is literally just there for Angeal to talk to since Seph won't talk to him lol.

Seph says they're being watched. Sephiroth just senses it while blowing off the whole intuition thing. We see a spooky purple presence tailing them.

Another body! The final one! And they're alive! But suddenly an old man with an INCREDIBLE AMAZING SWORD shows up. Sephiroth says that the geezer is unworthy to hold such a beautiful weapon. It's the Masamune btw. In case that isn't obvious. And the old man's name is Swordsmith Masamune.

NAMELESS (Sephiroth's old sword) breaks during the clash (rip). The old man says that he's the master swordsmith of Robio. He brags about how COOL AND AWESOME HIS SWORD IS. And how no matter how long he's waited, no one has come to claim the sword as their own (lol till now). He then runs off.

The injured soldier stirs and removes their helmet. It's that Lucrecia-looking chick Alissa. Sephiroth IMMEDIATELY panics because SHE LOOKS LIKE HIS MOTHER SADRFGHJGFD

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON ASEDRFGHFDS She asks if she looks like Sephiroth's sweetheart...or his MOTHER. AND THEN THE CHAPTER ENDS!!!!

But wait there's apparently extra content? Little glimpses. Hm...

Snippet 1: Angeal tells Bachman to take Alissa to safety while they gather their fallen allies. Sephiroth is still freaked out by Alissa. The mission wraps up. Bachman muses that there is no other soldier like Sephiroth. But the second he lost his sword...there were cracks in his psyche. Hm...

Snippet 2: Sephiroth is having a dream. It's his mother's voice and HOLY SHIT he's dreaming about seeing her im going to pass away. I'm going to die FUCK he's dreaming of having her with him and being in her life and hersdfdsdfs she makes him dinner and it's PUMPKIN SOUP AND I'M DYING HOLY SHIT HOLY FUCK ASEDRFGHJGFDSADFGHGFDSDSFGHFDS it's a fantasy in his head AND HE AND AND SHE ASDFGHFDSA I'm sobbing SHE HUGS HIM AND I'M ASDFGDSFD

Snippet 3: Angeal is thinking back to a memory with his father. It's Gillian's birthday. We see young Angeal with his dad and they're bringing out food for his mother enjoying a nice picnic. Angeal says he wants to do more cooking. Just some cute Banora lore mostly. Angeal is talking about enlisting. The extra wages will help his family. They toast in honor of sending him off. Angeal reflects on doing meaningful stuff with his life by joining SOLDIER.

END chapter. Whew. Holy cow. Super intriguing stuff. Who is Alissa? Why does she look like Sephiroth's mom? What's with the Masamune? Will Sephiroth EVER trust Angeal? ALSO HOLY SHIT WE GOT A CANON MOMMY ISSUES SCENE WITH Seph and Lucrecia I'm going to die.

This program is filled to the brim with authentic social swing dance and boogie vibes. Christina and Anthony’s movements, expression, and costume come together nicely in this program to create a vibrant, classic program that put a smile on my face and made me want to get up and dance. In addition to praising this program, I want to note that Christina is developing a style all her own. This point is not to be overlooked. Most ice dancers model their skating off either their coaches, choreographers, or their favorite teams. Christina is creating a style all her own and it is understatedly sexy (very demure, if I may), mysterious, and earthy. Christina’s style is like a complex signature fragrance: the notes are hard to place but the effect is totally unique and a bit intoxicating. Christina and Anthony’s speed and ice coverage will need to improve as the season progresses, but if this performance is any indicator then they are about to embark on a hallmark season.

she absolutely trashes Jeffrey Chen's skating. says about Jimmy Ma's exh, "club music is not for figure skating," calls Chock/Bates old. there are some pretty iffy things she says (about Ilia for example, yikes), but she also has some interesting commentary - about Eva Pate:

On a more critical note, I think Eva’s posture and facial expression will need work in order for this team to move up the ranks. Eva’s shoulders are always a bit stiff and rounded forward, which truncates her movements. Also her gorgeous smile is rarely pared with any emotion in her eyes. I know these seem like small details but subtleties like these are often the difference between a top team and one in the middle of the pack. Eva should study the upper body carriage and facial expression of top female ice dancers over time and then put her own spin on those styles.

That Azzi and Drew reunion gonna be a lil explosive huh. But like it'll be a quiet simmering at first; Drew just trying his hardest to ignore Azzi cause he's still holding onto his grudge until he eventually breaks and unleashes on her and ooo man yeah I can just imagine how much more guilty Azzi will feel after that confrontation. I wonder how he reacts to Stephie too, like he can't not give in to the cuteness obvs, but I can imagine there's a tiny bit of resentment there too in the sense that Azzi went and started her own family and forgot him. The pookies gotta make up though and I need that uncle drewski and stephski bond 🥺

Also, I keep thinking about P getting married and man how I'd love to dive into her thoughts when she and Olivia eventually got divorced. Cause after witnessing both her parents get divorced twice, I just know that would have been pretty painful for her to go through that herself and follow that pattern (maybe why we should have listened to Drew and not have married her in the first place Paigey! 😭😭) , and to think that she probably thought she'd never have to experience that cause she found the love of her life at 15 and they were meant to be forever!

And yet still, even as my heart breaks for Paige and what she must have gone through after Azzi turned her down, I can't bring myself to be upset with princess. Maybe I'm just too blinded by my own love for Azzi in every universe (even in fiction) so I support her wrongs and rights lmao. But nah, like I just feel that she must have had valid reasons you know, maybe?

But yeah so many questions about the proposal! Like had Paige been planning it? Or was it kinda a knee-jerk reaction to whatever their situation was at the time?? Was Azzi just not ready for marriage/an engagement? Or was she planning on breaking up with P anyway even before the proposal occurred?? Cause like damn that's crazy that P was thinking 'marriage' while Azzi was over here thinking 'break-up'. Like was Paige just too oblivious to how things were between them? Or was Azzi just keeping all her worries to herself?? Ugh i think i'm having war flashbacks to that one angsty part in Here's To Eternity 😭

Gonna add what another anon said about Drew and Azzi over here cause I think that really hit it on the head.

There's definitely some resentment there because I think Drew idolized Azzi and idolized what Paige and Azzi had so he's definitely in his feelings about that. And I think seeing Stephie is gonna hurt fs because that used to be Drew you know? Like he was there first baby but then he didn't get that for so long? (just made myself sad with that oops-)

The divorce with Olivia was definitely hard on P and we will be getting into that a little bit. There's multiple reasons behind it as well, one of which *might* add to the plot a little bit.

Azzi and her overthinking are apparently a constant in my fics but lmao not the Here's to Eternity flashback lol. Maybe Paige should have tried the same thing in this TL and just made Azzi listen lmao.

LMAO I have thought about the W-recap but time just hasn't been my friend. Maybe I'll do a not-so-mid-season recap. I'm so excited for the rest of the season especially because GABBY TO NY MAYBE? I will be insufferable if that happens.

Chapter One: Deathless In Equestria.

Creator's Notes: Most posts won't have a neat art piece for them, for now. My modeling skills are still inadequite, and I literally can't find a Scootaloo model for Blender or SFM that isn't Illegal, or any damn clothes for Twilight or Starlight! Had to draw them on by hand!

TS: Twilight Sparkle | SG: Starlight Glimmer | FS: Flame Storm | SC: Scootaloo

Scene open, our Survivors are set around a campfire. Scootaloo is wrapped in a brown and red cloak, Flame Storm is sharpening a fire axe, Twilight and Starlight are musing over a scroll. Flame Storm’s attention is grabbed by the Camera.

FS: Twilight, the Camera’s back.

Twilight’s head shoots up and stares into the frame.

TS: Oh! That took a few hours this time. Uhm, hello! My name is Twilight Sparkle, and we are… currently trying our best to survive. A few weeks ago me and my… compatriot Starlight Glimmer cast a Sight Seeing Spell onto a camera, which is what’s watching us. We thought it got blown up, honestly.

SG: It Did explode, Twilight. It doesn’t exist anymore. We’re just talking to the Moon-Damned air to vent our anxieties.

FS: And yet you, and the rest of us, also felt its existence. Shut up and let Twilight finish, Glimmer.

Starlight glares at Flame Storm before Twilight continues.

TS: Sorry… Uhm, I guess we really are just venting, but I guess anything helps to keep our heads on straight. To recap, about 9 weeks ago some kind of Infection Has spread across Equestria rapidly, seemingly by a Pony’s latent magic pool. From what I’ve seen, Unicorn’s can’t teleport, nor can Alicorns, due to magic becoming incredibly unstable. Every couple of minutes some kind of Pulse goes through the “Veins” of the world, it keeps interrupting any attempts at teleportation.

FS: Or any other spell, like Healing.

Flame Storm raises his left arm, revealing a large gash that is bleeding profusely. He doesn’t seem bothered by it, instead lowering it onto a pillow made of bandages.

FS: Hurts like hell, as it turns out.

TS: Sorry…

Twilight rubs her arm, looking away.

TS: An-anyways, me and this group, I believe, are some of the only Immune in the whole of Equestria. Other Alicorns are, hopefully, also immune, but these three seem to be special.

SG: Thanks for the vote of confidence, Sparkle.

Scootaloo simply smiles and leans against Twilight.

FS: Whatever this thing is, it’s highly infectious. Turns normal ponies into freaks, rotting their bodies from the inside out in the blink of an eye. And that’s before it mutates you.

TS: From what I’ve seen so far, these Infected seem to ignore several laws of Magic and Physics, like the Square Cube Law, or Starswirl’s Law Of Magic Conservation.

SG: Magic cannot be created nor destroyed, that’s the quote, right?

Twilight nods. She goes to continue but is interrupted by distant sounds of groaning and moaning. Flame Storm glares sharply to the right and gets up, bringing the bandage with him. He leaves the frame, armed with his axe. Scootaloo covers her ears in preparation.

SG: It’s… a little concerning how nonchalant he is about killing those ponies…

TS: Whatever they are, they aren’t ponies anymore, Starlight. They’re… it’s a mercy. The closest thing we can Give them, at least.

Starlight falls silent and stares into the fire.

The sound of growling ceases, replaced by the sound of flesh being torn and cut. A few seconds later, the sound of a growing fire is faintly heard. Flame Storm returns to frame.

FS: If we’re going to leave, now’s the best time. A group like that reads that an even bigger group is coming, possibly a hoard. And I’m not doing much with this axe.

Twilight nods and stands up, bringing Scootaloo up with her. The Camera has begun destabilizing. Twilight gives it one last fleeting look.

TS: I... Hope it returns this time.

Listen, I'm mildly technologically illiterate. I don't know shit about stats and buffing/debuffing/whatever. People explain the stats for the Smash characters and my eyes glaze over. I don't pretend to understand ANY of that shit. I just want to watch pretty moving pictures go boom.

So with THAT in mind, it's Angeal lol. My Angeal is an absolute unit. Idk where he ranks in terms of effectiveness compared to the other characters, but my Angeal is a literal tank and is nice and strong and chonky enough for me to keep being able to clear FS chapters without having to worry about impossible bosses like back in the olden days. Which is ultimately beneficial because then I don't have to wait in order to recap content. Angeal clears the chapter for me all on his own.

Personal recap at European Championship - Pairs FS

I guess this is one of the best attended Pairs events all season or even of most European championships! Also Kaunas really impresses with the quality of filming and the flag thing is quite cool.

Can't say the result is what I wanted...

The favorites struggled, first Conti/Macii in the SP and now Mini and Nikita.... wasn't their Europeans but both are great teams and imo overall better than those that placed above them. Anyway congrats to the other two Italian teams! 🥳🇮🇹

CATS WON! 😸😻I am really happy for Matteo Guarise, a European medal on his 10th European championship! This team with Lucrezia Beccari works really well and I like the fun they have with the program - hate the music cuts though. I also like that with their age gap they don't portray a loving couple on ice but go for something different.

I am just glad Luka Berulava/Anastasia Metelkina didn't win honestly...I will never forgive him how he treated his former partner Karina Safina and dumped her so horribly when she was struggling. A silver on the first try as a new team is still admittedly a very good result. I really didn't like the program. I am all in for quirky but this was just weird. I also love Queen music usually but not on them...

Ghilardi/Ambrosini were great! 👏👏👏Finally a really good program for them! Europeans seems to be their competition. A medal last season, a medal this season! I also like the dark Bram Stoker theme, they sell it so well!

I am really sad about Minerva Hase/Nikita Volodin 😭😭😭 Their chemistry is spellbinding. And in such a short time they developed so well. Today they were too many mistakes but as they struggled with illness and couldn't train this much, it's still a good achievement honestly. Also pressure was certainly high coming in as GPF champions. This season is just a start to their career and I am really sure there is more greatness to follow! ❤️ How about winning Worlds??? (I may be a bit biased as Mini is from my hometown and her mother and grandparents greeted me at German Nats bc they remembered me from Nebelhorn Trophy 😅, but aside from my bias they just deserve the world)

Hocke/Kunkel also did the best they can in the current condition. 🫶 Robert Kunkel should probably not be skating at all with his severe back injury that also will not really heal if you carry a partner daily around. But I applaud him for not giving up. Annika shines bright like the sun, but she seems to have some mental problem with the 3S. She does them well in practice and well in warm-up and then doubles them in competition or falls. I swear if not for those jumps they would be top contenders for every international medal, but she really has to get her mental state together.

The Hungarian team Pavlova/Sviatchenko are technically superb. They lack a lot of connection to music but I think for the way they are they did well. I do think they were scored quite strictly compared to others but I think the final placement is right. Loved her reaction at the end of the program!
