Alliance Normandy SR2 redesign: Deck 2
All of the decks are longer and skinnier than what we see in game. (This isn't a complaint; running through a long skinny map is tedious!). The command deck is a particular puzzle, because it doesn't need to be as long as it is, and we're supposed to believe it's much longer — extending all the way to the nose, which it can't do unless the deck curves down:
Tumblr media
Aesthetically, I'd like the command deck to extend farther forward than I've drawn it. Practically, I can't think of a reason why it would.
CIC & cockpit
Spaceships fly by instrumentation; you can steer from anywhere, so there's no reason to hike an extra forty-four meters to the cockpit. There are also far more work stations shown in game than seem reasonable: 14 in the CIC and corridor to the cockpit. What are they all doing? When you take into account capable Virtual Intelligence systems (the Alliance didn't know about EDI, but would have designed for a VI) it's even sillier, so I drastically reduced the number of stations in the CIC, and removed them from the corridor entirely.
Tumblr media
The corridor needs to stay to keep the feel of the space, so I used it for escape pod access. In the CIC itself, I kept the shape but oriented the workstations forward in case of inertial-buffer overloads*. There are two doors to the CIC, so the Officer of the Watch doesn't have a door directly at their back.
I also added a ready room, the office for the Officer of the Watch (accessible from the CIC), which also serves as a briefing room. In Sunset and Evening Star, this is where Shepard and First Office Nguyen have their morning meetings.
*Any system can overload. The trick with inertial overloads in fiction is convincing the reader that there's enough overload to feel without mashing everyone inside into paste, which is an astonishingly narrow window. It's an even narrower window if the human is sideways to the inertial force; we are very bad at surviving that.
The awkward middle
I stretched out the area forward of the elevator as much as I could. As well as the two new offices, there's a head for the CIC crew, another escape pod, and access to the secure areas aft. Moving that access here reduces traffic through the CIC.
(It's still a big waste of space).
Moving aft: from tactics to strategy
While the Captain commands the ship in the Combat Information Center, the Admiral leads the fleet from the War Room.
Tumblr media
Turning starboard from the elevator, there's a security station (so Private Campbell can remain the most put-upon person in the Alliance Navy). Past that is the Admiral's office, which wasn't finished when the reapers attacked Earth.
The Alliance is actively trying to take a larger role in galactic affairs, so there are some concessions to other species. In addition to the conference room, there's a head with a stall big enough for a krogan, and a beverage station set up for both dextro and levo species. Please click to embiggen and admire my stupid little coffee mugs.
The war room is centered, in the most protected part of the ship. It keeps it's general layout, but with fewer stations (focused inward so staff can see the strat map holo display). Only one is usually manned. The Strategic Map is the grand-scale equivalent to the Tactical Modeler in the CIC. (The names are wishful thinking; in a real military both would be impenetrable acronyms).
The QEC is the same Mystery Communications Circle it is in the game, but only a quarter of the way around the War Room from the entry instead of on the opposite side.

Mula Nakshatra: The Primordial Cosmic Force.
Tumblr media
versão em pt-br
Tropical Astrology orients the zodiac to the point of the Vernal Equinox, which marks the beginning of the sign of Aries. Vedic astrology orients the zodiac from the 'Galactic Center' to the center of the Galactic Sun, where influences pass through us via the fixed constellation of Sagittarius. The Galactic Center is called 'Brahma,' the creative force, or 'Vishnunabhi,' the navel of Vishnu. From the Sun emanates the light that determines life and intelligence on Earth, directing the seven rays of creation and the distribution of Karma.
In terms of sidereal astrology, the Galactic Center is located at the beginning of Sagittarius. In the Vedic system, it is found in the lunar constellation (nakshatras) called 'Mula,' which means 'the root' or 'origin.' Mula can thus be seen as the first in the series of lunar constellations. It marks 13º 20' of Sagittarius, in the middle of which the Galactic Center is located. The last in the series of lunar constellations is Jyeshta, which means 'the eldest,' found at the end of Scorpio. This shows that the ancients knew of the Galactic Center and named the constellations accordingly. The Mayans identified the Galactic Center as Hunab Ku, representing the Supreme God and Supreme Creator. It is considered the 'Mother's Womb' that constantly gives birth and gave birth to the Sun and the planet Earth. It is believed that Hunab Ku directs everything that happens in the Galaxy from its center through the periodic emission of 'Consciousness Energy.'
The energy of the Galactic Center is primarily transmitted by Jupiter, called 'Guru,' the teacher in Vedic astrology, and by Sagittarius. Jupiter is said to be the teacher of the Gods, the cosmic power of light. In this regard, he is even the teacher of the Sun, the guide of the world. Jupiter represents and directs Galactic Light to the solar system.
This association of Mula with the Galactic Center suggests a strong connection to primordial and cosmic forces, symbolizing the ability to access deep and transformative wisdom that may surface from intense experiences or a spiritual quest. The strong influence of Mula may manifest as a deep connection with these cosmic energies, reflecting a desire to get to the core of issues and seek the truth in its rawest and purest form.
Ketu, the planet that governs Mula, also deals with reaching the core of everything. It stores past Karmas and releases those mature enough to be experienced in the present. It can help gather the necessary tools to fulfill the objective of the present life. This is suggested by the symbolism of the tied roots. Mula, therefore, helps in gathering, meaningfully, the talents developed in past lives.
Mula is concerned with investigating invisible or unknown things. Along with its counterpart Ardra (which lies directly opposite in the zodiac), Mula has the strongest and deepest sense of investigation among all nakshatras. Mula is directly associated with medicinal purposes. In ancient medicinal systems like Ayurveda, roots of various plants are used for medicine preparation. Similarly, Mula is also related to the root of diseases, such as microorganisms like viruses, bacteria, etc. Like everything under Mula's jurisdiction, these microorganisms are invisible to the naked eye. The fact that the roots are tied suggests a sense of limitation. As a result, Mula often does not allow much freedom or dispersion of energies, causing people to dive deep within a limited sphere.
Mula Nakshatra is deeply connected to the figure of Nritti, a powerful and enigmatic goddess of Vedic mythology. Nritti is often associated with destruction, chaos, and dissolution, but her influence goes far beyond just being a destructive force. She represents the primordial forces that deconstruct and dismantle to allow something new and more authentic to emerge. Nritti is the goddess of transformation through destruction. She governs the process of disintegration necessary for renewal and regeneration, reflecting the idea that for growth to occur, something old must be undone. In many ways, Nritti can be seen as the guardian of the boundaries between the known and the unknown, between comfort and chaos, symbolizing moments of crisis that challenge old structures and beliefs, paving the way for personal and spiritual development. Mula's symbol is a bundle of tied roots, representing the exploration of origins, the unveiling of deeper truths, and the search for the essence of any situation. However, to reach the roots, one must undergo processes of destruction and deconstruction, aspects deeply connected to Nritti's energy. Those who have significant planets in Mula Nakshatra may experience intense moments of destruction and rebirth throughout their lives, being called to abandon old identities, beliefs, and situations to transform into something new and more authentic.
Nritti's influence on Mula also emphasizes the importance of facing chaos and the unknown as part of the path to enlightenment. Mula is the nakshatra of deep investigation, where the sought truth is revealed, often in a harsh and challenging way. Nritti guides this quest, ensuring that illusions are destroyed so that the truth, no matter how raw, can emerge.
It is in Mula's nature to quickly cut and destroy things that have lost their value. Most often, it regrets its actions in hindsight. Only when its Universal will is aligned does Mula operate in a wise, Jupiterian manner. The struggle between universality and individuality reaches its peak here, as individuality is at its highest expression. The process of individualization begins in Ashwini, is celebrated in Magha, and culminates with completed individual experiences in Mula. Beyond the realm of the ego and egocentrism, Mula is a proud and arrogant nakshatra, often unable to comprehend its own power and abilities. In some cases, this is good, as its capacity to inflict damage on itself is restricted by its ignorance. Its terrible and demonic side comes from Ketu's negative functioning in its lower aspects, potentially generating ego, vanity, and arrogance, which can lead someone to commit abominable and demonic actions.

Could you coin a outherine galactic alignment gender. (If it isn’t to much to ask)
Tumblr media
Spherian: An outherine-aligned identity that is part of the Galactian Alignment System.
The name refers to the celestial sphere, a radius of astronomical observation oriented around Earth. Since outherine genders are typically non-xenine, basing it on how Earth views the cosmos is parallel to the idea of basing genders on human gender concepts.
Space is everything to me and I love the chance to coin genders based on astronomical concepts. I might coin at least one more galactian term soon, if I can think of a symbol.
Also, I made the yellow stripe more orange to help it stand out, which I will do for any other abinarine galactian alignments I happen to coin. - 💙💚

Races Among the Stars 11: Endiffian
And now it’s time to look at what I think is our first species hailing from the Azlanti Star Empire. Because what would a science-fantasy melting pot setting like Starfinder be without at least one Galactic Empire analogue, being weirdly human-centric in a galaxy of incredibly diverse species?
Despite being a distant threat relatively speaking, the ASE is very real to it’s component worlds and neighboring systems, which includes many alien species living as second-class citizens, including today’s entry, which is perhaps the best equipped to move freely in the empire: the endiffians.
Endiffians are shapeshifters, and while they may not have the same control over their forms as the likes of astrazoans, their ability to mimic the forms of other humanoid species down to the cellular level makes them hard to detect, a fact that allows them to hide in plain sight in an empire that treats all non-humans as second-class citizens at best, or smuggle themselves out to other worlds by hiding among the crews of starships leaving the empire.
For their part, the endiffians know perfectly well the danger that comes with their abilities, but they also find value in experiencing the lives and cultures of many other species.
While endiffians have a humanoid skeleton, the gray flesh that surrounds it is extremely malleable, able to be reshaped to take on a variety of forms and colors in order to replicate the appearance of other humanoid species, even on a cellular level, requiring advanced sensors or magic to make the difference known (or get them to fail to replicate abilities that only true members of the species could do, perhaps). However, this transformation is not as fluid as certain other shapeshifting species. As such, older endiffians often sport scarring along their body that resembles hairline cracks in porcelain, or perhaps body-spanning stretch marks. While they can still transform all the same, such elders are considered highly respected among their kind for the depth and breadth of their knowledge. Conversely, certain other species (such as the humans of the Star Empire) that see an endiffian, particularly an older one, with mostly smooth skin is seen as especially trustworthy because they have clearly not used their inherent talents to deceive as often. Whether this is actually a proper test of character is another story, however.
Indeed, endiffians understand that public opinion of them as shapeshifters can change in an instant, so certainly, they’ll lean into any favorable presuppositions they can when living in humanoid societies. For the most part, however, endiffians learn early on from their parents that they should never reveal their true nature to anyone that they do not trust, and some go as far as to never reveal their true face except to other endiffians. One might assume that this is a people of spies and saboteurs, and certainly it is true that there are many on both sides of the empire and far beyond it, but the majority of their people are just that, living quiet lives alongside their neighbors. Indeed, the attention to detail that they demonstrate has led many of them to excel as actors or even architects and artists. At the end of the day, endiffians are a people that live in secret, doing their best to survive, much like most shapeshifting species that exist in the galaxy.
Endiffians are charming and clever, but the malleability of their flesh makes it less useful for physical precision.
The need to perfect their disguises has led to this species having detail-oriented minds and vision, letting them pick up on subtle details that others would miss.
While crude, they can use some of the flexibility of flesh to aid in physical tasks, mostly grappling, climbing, and disarming foes, as the flesh of their hands instantly reshapes to get into every crack and cranny of the surface they grasp to maximize grip.
The primary use for this adaptation, however, is disguises. This shapeshifting is slow, taking about a minute, but allows them to mimic nearly any humanoid form that is about the same height as them. However, this is limited to cosmetic changes and grants no physical or mystical abilities.
Now one might suspect that being a shapeshifter would lend itself well to more sneaky classes like envoy or operative, and you would be right, though they do suffer that dex penalty which they’ll have to get around unless they take an archetype that changes their key ability score. That being said, however, they need not specifically be a master of disguise or a sneak. Indeed, their high intelligence makes studious biohacker and mechanic good options, and their charisma helps out with solarians as well. Spellcasters that rely on intelligence or charisma, such as technomancers and witchwarpers are also good options, while mystics can be decent. Combat classes such as vanguards, nanocytes, soldiers, and evolutionists will probably want to focus melee. Their dex penalty makes precog a hard choice, as is any ranged build, but much like being an operative, one can definitely get around that penalty and still excel at any of those classes or builds regardless. Not every build demands they use their shapeshifting regularly, and that’s fine too. It takes all types.
That does it for today, but tomorrow we’ll be talking about a species with perhaps one of the most unique reproductive cycles in the setting.

Sirian Talon Abraxas
The People of Sirius
The Sirians are an extraterrestrial race of people who assist Earth and its inhabitants. The Sirians are considered to be ‘Spiritual Warriors’ and are more spiritually advanced than most off-world civilizations. They originate from a double star in the constellation Canis Major, or Orion’s Dog.
Sirius A (of Sirius A & B) lies only 8 light years away. They appear human, and are distant relatives to us.
The Sirians are, in general, benevolent aliens (4th-6th dimensions). Many Sirians are deeply wise, conscious, spiritual, and loving empathic people, though they are much more evolved technologically and spiritually than us.
They are more advanced in the metaphysical sense as Sirius is home to one of the most advanced training centers or universities known as the Mystery Schools, to which the Ascended Masters travel. Sirius is a star system which is a meeting place for beings of this galaxy who wish to continue their spiritual studies.
Sirius has a direct link with our solar system and the Sirians have been amongst us since the time of the Mayan and Egyptian civilizations.
They gave the Egyptians much advanced astronomical and medical information and also gave the Mayan race advanced knowledge.
They helped the Earth during the time of the cataclysmic period in Atlantis. The Sirians helped to build the Pyramids and temples of Egypt and they are involved with helping Earth into this new Golden Age.
The symbols they used throughout time were usually of serpents or dogs.
Physically, as a generality, the Sirians had darker skin, darker hair and eyes, and were not as large as the Lyrans. As far as their personality characteristics, we would say that they were very devoted to serving mankind.
Whereas the Lyrans were committed to ruling mankind, the Sirians were interested in helping or sometimes even saving mankind. They could be very, very zealous, and because of that trait, they often interfered where they did not belong. But you could say they were the crusaders for mankind.
Sirians are principally benign, or Service-to-Others. They have been involved, from time to time, in Earth's history, and therefore take an interest in their handiwork. As with all alien groups, there are some members who are Service-to-Self. These numbers are small in proportion to the membership choosing the Service-to-Others orientation. Likewise with the Pleiadians and Nordics.
They are a watery, dreamy race who are basically an evolved version of dolphins and whales, somewhat. They are said to live in the Christ consciousness, and are in a solar system very linked with our own in a psychic manner. They too play a role in helping Earth, but they are doing it from a more subtle standpoint, like through the cetaceans in our seas.
When it comes to Earth's Galactic history, the Sirians play a major part. The Sirians were one of the first alien civilizations to visit our solar system, aeons ago. Some as yet unconfirmed theories situate these first visits to Earth approximately 4 to 5 million years ago. They were just short-term visits, mainly for scientific reasons.
A first permanent settlement, however, was established approximately one million years ago, in what is now Latin America. It was followed much later by waves of colonization, not only from Sirius, but also from Lyra and later on from Orion and the Pleiades

Day 11 of @Radiomogai's event!
11. Do you have any sort of ranking in your identity? Aspects of your identity that you consider more or less important than others, or terms you prefer over others.
We don't really have any rankings systems, just "priority" umbrellas (for visual context, there's this really known/recognizable image I keep seeing of the trans umbrella; the trans umbrella with underneath it binary [transman & -woman] and nonbinary umbrella [that holds labels like genderfluid, agender, demigenders, xenogender, etc].) In short we have Two main umbrellas for gender terms; trans & genderqueer. We also have several sub umbrellas under them.
Our trans umbrella (literally any trans-related and/or tangent words and experiences we have are under this, labels we are transitioning to or are transitioning labels that we identify with) contains sections named along the side of masc/fem/neu, man/woman, girl/boy/boygirl/girlboy, other tangent term related to girl/boy/woman/man that are slang terms (such as guy), androgynous, ambiguous, Neogender, etc and if they still have things under them then they double as their own smaller umbrellas. (These umbrellas can also contain xeno-, neo- and other gender terms that would be listed under genderqueer but due to having the trans prefix would not be considered to be under the genderqueer umbrella for us.)
Themed gender umbrellas are all under genderqueer. When we say themed, we mean Neogenders and xenogenders with x theme (ex. Ocean themed Neo- & xenogenders, canine themed Neo- & xenogenders, etc etc. We also have beneath those more specific sections say, canine themed Neo- & xenogenders with behavior, breed, occupation, etc etc category sections.). Then there's the unaligned terms, nonconforming terms, & specific-(""base""*)-label umbrellas such as agender related things, genderfluid terms/fragments related things, demigenders, nonbinary-specific related things (the galactic & metal alignments we might identify with.) etc terms.
*when we say base label, we mean the common labels that are vastly more known than specific Neogender terms. Like we already did ramble on about, but labels like demigender, genderfluid, agender, nonbinary gender, etc.
Then there's other umbrella terms such as the presentation (also sectioned to fem/masc/neu/androgynous/ambiguous/etc sections and umbrellas if there's combinations.), Alterhumanity (sectioned to general identity terms, types, human or Alterhuman adjactents.), Misceverse (alterhuman adjactent, but it's it's own independent umbrella since it's such a large thing anyways with sections for dynamics, dynamic combos, scents, behavior, statuses, fluid terms, other misce labels which name we don't remember currently, etc.), Orientation (which boils down to gay, mspec, other (includes tertiary attraction, mspecs mono, unaligned, literal other terms that are tangent but cannot be categorized, and hetero terms), and aroacespec umbrella terms.)
So, we don't consider anything that much more important than the other when it comes to labels. We just have a category sorting where we sort them in umbrellas and categories. The more comfortable we are, the more you get to know about the categories under specific labels we use as umbrella terms. :) I hope that makes some sense dlkdkd

A 'surprisingly large' disk galaxy discovered in the early universe
by Swinburne University of Technology
An international team has discovered a giant spiral disk galaxy in the early cosmos which is three times larger than similar galaxies of the same epoch.
Galactic disks are flat, rotating structures filled with stars, gas, and dust that orbit the central core. The solar system orbits within the Milky Way's disk.
Swinburne University of Technology is the only Australian research institution behind this global investigation, published in Nature Astronomy, of the new James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and other telescope observations.
Swinburne galaxy spectral modeling expert Dr. Themiya Nanayakkara was a part of the international team that planned the JWST observations and discovered this exceptional galaxy.
"When and how galaxy disks form has been an outstanding puzzle," he says. "Seeing a massive, well-ordered disk galaxy when the universe was just 2.4 billion years old forces us to rethink how rapidly and efficiently nature can build cosmic structures.
"This galaxy not only challenges our existing models of early formation but also hints that dense, gas-rich environments may be the cradle for the universe's earliest giants."
These observations were targeted towards a specific region of the sky, which hosts a bright quasar at redshift z=3.25. The galaxy is seen as it was 11 billion years ago, or 2 billion years after the Big Bang.
Using the new JWST data from two onboard instruments, NIRCam and NIRSpec, Dr. Nanayakkara and the team identified galaxies within this over-dense structure and analyzed their redshifts, morphology, and kinematics, all of which are needed for the identification of galaxy disks.
"Our observations led to the serendipitous discovery of a surprisingly large disk galaxy in our field," he says. "This galaxy, dubbed the 'Big Wheel' has an optical radius of around 10 kpc, which is at least three times as large as what is predicted by current cosmological simulations."
Further kinematics analysis based on the NIRSpec data confirmed that the galaxy contains a disk rotating at around 300 km/s. It is larger than any other kinematically confirmed disks found at similar early epochs, and yet is comparable to the size of today's most massive disks.
Dr. Nanayakkara says the disk lives in a highly over-dense environment, hinting that such an environment might have favorable physical conditions for early disk formation.
"Given the lack of comparable galaxies to the Big Wheel in current cosmological simulations, these favorable physical conditions are likely not fully captured yet in current galaxy formation models. Specifically, environments of this kind are known to host frequent galaxy encounters, mergers and gas flows.
"Therefore, in order to have a disk form early and grow quickly, galaxy mergers in this environment must have been non-destructive and oriented in particular directions. Alternatively, gas inflows must have carried angular momentum that largely co-rotated with the galaxy disk."
Previous studies revealed that the quasar is embedded in a large-scale structure called a proto-galaxy cluster, which has a high concentration of galaxies, gas, and black holes, indicating an exceptionally over-dense environment.
This study paves the way to studying this over-dense environment, which remains a relatively under-explored territory, Dr. Nanayakkara says.
"With more targeted observations, we could build a statistical sample of giant disks in the early universe and open up a new window on the study of early phases of galaxy formation."
TOP IMAGE: This 25-arcsecond-wide, enhanced RGB image showcases the "Big Wheel" galaxy at redshift 3.25, a cosmic giant whose light has travelled over 12 billion years to reach us. In striking contrast, the bright blue galaxy at the upper right is a nearby object (z≈0.1), only about 1.5 billion light years away, making the Big Wheel roughly 50 times further away. Although both appear similar in angular size on the sky, the enormous distance of the Big Wheel reveals its truly colossal physical scale, underscoring the remarkable growth of galaxies in the early universe. Varied worlds of Campoestela:
This time they are outside from the Esteloplatense Confederation (you can call it Space Argentina). Some of them are from the wider 'human space', others not.
Hilav: A pleasant world of blue seas and archipaelagos, at the junction of several trade routes. Initially settled by Alevis from Turkey, their influence can still be seen in the local culture and architecture, but is now probably one of the most cosmopolitan worlds of human space, with bustling universities and markets. The orbital ring around Hilav glitters with the constant docking and undocking of ships, and is a reminder every time you look at the sky of just where you are.
Fraternité: A tropical world with low-lying lands and extensive river systems, terraformed with African flora and fauna. The Republic of Fraternité is one of the newest members of the Ubuntu Union, and is located in a privileged new aetheric route leading to Concordia. The cities of Fraternité are booming with cranes and construction robots, even as it tries to retain its traditional forestry genemodding art it is still known for.
Iaotol: Homeworld of the ibis-like Syuted, a dry world with rivers fed by melting glaciers. The canyon cities of Syuted are where you would find the sometimes uncanny displays of traditional Syuted "magic", including sentient gemstones and talking corpses whose secrets are tightly kept. The newer cities in the desert fed by hydroponics are where most of the population lives nowadays.
Ruleta: A million-years old ancient ring-shaped orbital, it has an overall steppe oceanic climate and geography, but it's unclear if that was the original configuration of its builders. Countless cultures have risen and fallen here, many still live in mountain chains or open spaces within the orbital. The current human inmigrants, perhaps because of nominative determinism, are known by their lavish casinos by the seas.
Berekti: A world under an ice age, with karstic caverns sheltering pockets of vegetation from the glaciers. Originally inhabited only by Oriental Orthodox monks from Ethiopia and a small spaceport town with EXCELLENT cafés, in the past few decades it has recieved some attention by extreme sports fans who come to enjoy the rugged geography.
Smaragaid: A carefully terraformed world of forested islands each with their own unique dialects and cultures, it was colonized by Irish culture revivalists who took the rather extreme step of completely banning English and related languages from the planet. Despite the trade opportunities, it remains a rather closed world, only accessible to chosen confidants who have to be vouched as trusted by local councils and families.
Utveh: Homeworld of the snake-like Feisans. While having a variety of climates, Feisans do prefer to live in the many floating 'mangroove' forests that spread over the tropical seas of this world. The basic political unit in Utveh is precisely the Floating Forest, and they have translated this to their expansion into space, preferring to live in independent orbitals. Their orbital constellations are often close to human worlds, coexisting or competing with them.
Saudade: Part of the Brazilian diaspora, this world of beautiful granite formations and flowered valleys experienced such political inestability that it turned into an absolute monarchy. Over the centuries, a constitutional regime emerged, but the dramas and turns of the Realeza are known all over human space, despite the thriving communist movement who's fucking sick of them.
Nueva Valparaíso: A remote, lightly populated world above the galactic plane. Rumors of strange elements on its stormy seas have brought several prospectors, but few settlements besides some remote floating platforms loosely aligned with the Cruzur. It always rains in Nueva Valparaíso, even if it's just a drizzle, hiding the spectacular views of the Campoestela.
Saesfi: A dry world with a thin atmosphere, with lush lowlands with unique ecosystems separated by lifeless mesa-like continents. Homeworld of the Saihisi, a cactus-like species. Saihisi mostly live in connected genets, and one driving factor for their spacebound exploration was to avoid damaging the fragile enviroments of Saesfi. They have settled in all sorts of "gardens" across the stars, but some embrace a more individual existence.
San Marco: Capital of the Serenissima Unione and a major trade center, San Marco is a warm world of low-lying seas, stromatolites and coral reefs, with colorful iridiscent fauna. Because of its beautiful sunsets and islands, it's considered one of the most romantic worlds in human space, at least according to the tourist board. There is a replica of Venezia in one of the atolls, but over time it has adquired a more tropical flair.
Concordia: If there is a true center of Campoestela, it's Concordia. Located in the crossroads of the main three aetheric currents, every space traveller eventually ends up here. A dyson sphere made of swarms of habitats of diamond-like carbon, it has been inhabited over millions of years, in fact, many cultures long extinct are still found here. From the modern city-ports to the ancient palaces and the edenic habitat gardens, Concordia is a sharp contrast of itself: a bustling, modern trade center with a yet not-wholly understood history stretching into the night of time.
Gagarin ("Little Terra"): An O'Neill Cylinder in Concordia, built under the auspices of the Terran Council to represent humanity in the galactic center. Over time, it has become an overbuilt city with people from all over human space and beyond. You can find virtually everything and everybody in the streets of Little Terra with every organization and culture represented somewhere. Many other habitats have been built around it, giving a bit of a ramshackle appearance. However, it retains its political and economic importance.

The Mystical and Intergalactic Role of Beacons: Navigators of Magic, Space, and Order
Tumblr media
In both magical and intergalactic realms, beacons carry profound significance, serving as powerful nodes of energy, cosmic guides, and protectors against chaos. Whether used by magicians or advanced civilizations, these beacons symbolize crucial points of connection between worlds, dimensions, and realities. Let’s explore the deep magical, technological, and spiritual roles that these beacons can play in various cosmic and interdimensional settings.
1. Magical Beacons: Mystical Nodes of Power and Protection
In a magical world, beacons are far more than simple markers; they are mystical instruments connected to ancient forces, guiding entities through the vast expanses of magical realms. Here are some key roles of magical beacons:
Sources of Magical Energy: Magical beacons serve as concentrated power points, emitting and amplifying mystical energy that can be harnessed by sorcerers, witches, or magical entities. These nodes might be used for large-scale rituals, enhancing spells or anchoring powerful protective wards.
Portals to Other Dimensions: A magical beacon can act as a gateway between dimensions, allowing for safe travel between parallel worlds or realms. This makes them crucial tools for those who navigate complex, interdimensional spaces where normal rules of time and space do not apply.
Amulets of Protection: Beacons can function as powerful wards or amulets, emitting energy that repels chaos, dark magic, or malevolent forces. In this way, they serve as landmarks that maintain a delicate balance between light and dark, order and chaos, in magical worlds.
Guardians of Sacred Knowledge: Certain magical beacons may contain ancient knowledge or wisdom, passed down through generations of mystical orders. Accessing such beacons could unlock powerful teachings or forgotten spells, guiding mages toward their ultimate purpose.
2. Intergalactic Beacons: Navigating the Cosmos and Dimensions
In an intergalactic context, beacons take on a more technological but still deeply mystical significance. They help civilizations explore the cosmos, navigate through star systems, and maintain interdimensional communication.
Cosmic Navigation Systems: Intergalactic beacons act as cosmic lighthouses, guiding space travelers and starships through the infinite expanse of the universe. These beacons emit high-frequency signals that help spaceships orient themselves during interstellar travel, especially in dangerous or uncharted territories.
Interdimensional Signals and Communication: These beacons also act as quantum transmitters, sending signals across galaxies and even between dimensions. They serve as points of reference or communication hubs for different civilizations, transmitting data, warnings, or crucial information through vast interdimensional portals.
Milestones for Galactic Civilizations: Some intergalactic beacons represent pivotal points in the development of star-based civilizations. They can emit spiritual or philosophical guidance, promoting peace, unity, and the collective growth of intelligent life forms. These beacons may transmit cosmic wisdom that influences the direction of galactic societies.
3. Beacons and the Laws of the World Order: Guardians of Universal Balance
In both magical and intergalactic realms, there is often a concept of the Laws of the World Order, a set of metaphysical rules that govern harmony between worlds, galaxies, and dimensions. Beacons play an essential role in upholding these laws:
Harbingers of Harmony: These beacons emit energy or signals that act as reminders of the universal laws of harmony and justice. By doing so, they stabilize realities and maintain balance between worlds, ensuring that chaos does not overwhelm order.
Bridges Between Worlds: Beacons serve as interdimensional bridges, connecting different realms and allowing them to maintain equilibrium. They ensure that the energies of light and darkness, creation and destruction, remain in balance, thus sustaining the cosmic order.
4. Beacons as Defenders Against Chaos: Protecting Civilization
In times of cosmic or magical upheaval, beacons may serve as the last bastions of defense against chaos and destruction:
Energy Barriers: Beacons can generate powerful energy shields that protect entire regions, civilizations, or star systems from the destructive forces of chaos. These energy barriers act as a line of defense against malevolent entities, black holes, or collapsing dimensions.
Guiding Lights to Hope and Renewal: In times of crisis, beacons symbolize hope and restoration. They serve as guiding lights that lead civilizations and individuals toward renewal, balance, and a new cosmic order.
5. Beacons as Spiritual Guides and Protectors of Civilization
Beacons in the magical and intergalactic sense may also take on a spiritual role, serving as cosmic guides or symbols of enlightenment for entire societies:
Symbols of Cosmic Wisdom: Certain beacons are considered sacred, representing the wisdom of the ancients or divine beings. These beacons might contain sacred texts or spiritual guidance, offering those who seek them a path toward higher enlightenment and personal transformation.
Defenders of Life and Civilization: Beyond their metaphysical role, beacons also represent the guardianship of life. Whether through magical power or advanced technology, they ensure the continuity of life, the protection of civilizations, and the propagation of peace and harmony.
Conclusion
Beacons, in both magical and intergalactic contexts, are far more than simple markers. They are powerful tools of navigation, protection, and transformation. Whether through magical energy or advanced cosmic technology, beacons help maintain the delicate balance between worlds, guide civilizations toward peace and harmony, and protect against the forces of chaos. They are symbols of hope, order, and renewal, lighting the path for those who seek wisdom, growth, and universal balance.

biography.
nothing much matters in bode akuna's story until shortly after his 20th birthday, because jedi padawan simply don't matter much. the day he became a jedi knight; that's the day his story began.
it began in the room of the high council, kneeling before his master as he was knighted before any who matter. he'd been training in hopes to find himself in combat somewhere: after all, that is what he's expected to do. fight. protect. what could possibly be the point of anything else?
infiltration. he'd heard the word then, still kneeling before the council. a shudder ran up along his spine that forced his head up. you'll report to the republic intelligence troops beginning tomorrow. few jedi were ever asked to report to republic intelligence. he should have felt honored, but all he felt at the time was a looming sense of dread.
as a spy for the republic, he reported directly to lank denvik. his work ranged from easy intelligence missions, to covert secret operations that existed on a need to know basis. because of this, his status as a jedi was kept mostly a secret among the halls of the greater community. it also meant that long before the purge, bode knew that order 66 was going to be the death of them all.
when the order for the purge went through, bode used every skill he'd ever learned to run as far and as fast as he could. he ditched his lightsaber for a pair of blasters and hid himself away in hopes that he could simply begin to blend into the crowd. two years after the purge, he found himself of birren -- the home planet of his soon to be wife tayala. the pair have a daughter, kata, and for a couple of years life is good. simple, and good.
kata is three when the inquisitors come. tayala knew his past; she knew that one day he may have to run fast and run hard. they'd promised each other they'd run together, but that never came to pass. rather than letting her husband face a brutal death, tayala sacrificed herself so bode could escape with kata in tow. the pair run fast and run hard with bode offering himself as a mercenary for hire in the deep recesses of the galaxy.
it could stay that way. not for kata's sake. she deserved better. even if that meant making a deal with a devil. you know what they say about the devil you know...
lank denvik had found himself a role as an officer in the imperial security bureau, which bode had found out through a close source. he offered himself to denvik, showing up with kata and looking for sanctuary. the job is his and kata is safe as long as he stays useful. she has toys, she has food, she has shelter. (tayala would furious with him, but he tells himself he's doing what's best for their little girl.) it seems he could do this for now: and then the stinger mantis crew and specifically jedi cal kestis reach the isb radar.
infiltrate the crew. find out what kestis is doing. (fall in love? certainly not in the plan.) locate anything else of interest. and when that thing of interest became a way to get kata to safety far away from the reach of imperial forces? well -- there's nothing more dangerous than a man who stop at nothing to protect his daughter.
NOTES:
the canon of jedi survivor fits in here to a certain extent. bode DOES relay information to denvik as he gets it because of the threat to kata's life, and he DOES lead the imperial forces and vader to jedha after locating the compass.
however, bode does NOT kill cordova. he doesn't stop cordova's death from happening, but he is not the one to actively do it. the only lives he takes in the fight at jedha are the ones in his way from getting the hell out of the base and getting back to nova garon.
when cal offers bode mercy on tanalorr, he takes it. he knows this is the only option where he's still alive to care for kata, but even more importantly, he knows that he's pushed cal too far into the darkside. he knows that taking his life would eventually destroy cal kestis. he never wanted to fall in love with him, but life had other plans. while earning back trust and forgiveness from cal, merrin, and honestly kata, bode stays on tanalorr or joins merrin looking for other force sensitives to bring them to tanalorr.
my main canon will take place either during the events of survivor, or in this time frame on tanalorr.

Super-Small Stardust Saga, Prologue
Hey there! You're reading an archived, imperfect version of a post originally from my Cohost!! Rest in peace to the best website. This version of the story will be missing some essential formatting aspects. Otherwise, I'll do my best to archive everything textwise and image-wise. Anyway, the text originally read:
~~~
I'm hosting chapters on this second page so as to avoid clogging up my main page with chapters AND allow folks to follow specifically the CYOA if they're so inclined!
This will be a unique Interactive fiction project in my micro-oriented sci-fi kink setting, the Punyverse! I'm going to be hosting it here on Cohost, and taking advantage of css and Cohost's unique page layout in order to try and create something that I couldn't really fit on other sites like Twitter or Tumblr or what have you.
Most importantly, while I'm certainly planning to be writing most of it myself, I'm going to leave "unwritten" paths and branches down the Choose-Your-Own-Adventure path as "open" slots, so that collaborators can contribute in a way similar to Writing.com Interactives (though obviously with a stronger grip on quality control than WDC!) I encourage folks to reach out and DM me in the future if you're interested. You can reach me on Twitter, Discord, and Tumblr.
Before we start, be aware that while this prologue is tame, future chapters can and will contain kink/fetish content, including but not limited to macro/micro, nano/giga, furry, anthro, non-anthro (quadrupedal, serpentine, etc), genitals/sexual content, situations of ambiguous consent, feet/paws, butt, vore, dom/sub, humiliation, boobs, peril/destruction, and more.
As with all stories of mine involving non-human characters, all parties pass the Harkness test, being of human-level intelligence, 18+ or equivalent sexual & mental maturity for their species, and involving themselves of their own free will.
This first part is simple scene-setting. As always, if you notice a formatting error, typo, or other problem, please let me know!
Hope you enjoy, and thanks for reading!
Year 2212. Also known as Collective Calendar 3-42-15-8999.
With the Earth giving out in terms of resources, humanity decided to leave its nest into the wider universe. That’s the simple version of that bit of history. The fleet, carrying just over 9 billion people, made quick tracks out of the solar system. Once past the Kuiper Belt, the ESS Bifrost activated the wormhole gate, and humanity entered, to be taken faster than light to the next place they would call home.
In retrospect, they could probably have remained on Earth a few more decades to test wormholes with some extra rigor.
Humanity emerged on the opposite side of their galactic neighborhood with no viable route back, no idea where they were, and, of course, lest any of us forget: pulled through a pocket of spatial compression that effectively reduced the size of their entire fleet and everyone in it to 1/12000th scale. Humans that were once 5 foot 11 inches were now 5 thou and 11 subthou tall, .15mm tall. Paltry. Microscopic. Blissfully Ignorant of just how small and in need they all now were. The fleet would rapidly have depleted all of its power and resources in no time at all, had it not immediately been intercepted by the Interstellar Collective.
Integration was tough those first few years.1 But eventually, humanity was able to carve out some small – very small – niche within the pangalactic community. And despite all the new difficulties of this new frontier, at this new size, humanity climbs ever further.
That’s where You come in. You’ve spent the last several years achieving the credentials necessary to become a ship captain. It wasn’t easy – especially making boot camp at the size of a fleck. Even getting approval to pursue a spot aboard Academy Station took a few favors. But today, at last, is the day you graduate and become one of only four or six-ish human captains of a multi-member vessel to exist!
Your itinerary for today is quite simple. First, you need to meet with Academy Station’s Director, to complete the final steps of ceremony and receive your badge (very important!). Second, a Lieutenant-Captain whose name eludes you (temporarily!) wanted to meet to requisition your leadership aboard a cruiser. Third, you would then have to go down to the Large Vessels Lot and introduce yourself to the crew and vessel, and then presumably tomorrow morning you would leave on that vessel for a grand adventure through the galaxy.
You look over your graduation documentation once more to verify that everything is in order. At the top is your basic personal information. It reads…
Option 1: Fem Captain At the top, in neat print, the document reads:
Name: Justine Sieva Skylor Species: Human (Sellan) Dimorphism: Female DOB: 3-38-04-9001. (1/29/2217) Mass: 0.2 micrograms* (See Addendum) Height: .144mm* (See Addendum)
Followed by copies of that same information in a few other formats. Near the bottom of the page are a few addendums and notes explaining the conditions of humanity's size issues.
Since this information is accurate, you decide to head off to go visit the Director and get yourself recognized! Yup, this is me! {To Prologue Part 2.}
At the top, in neat print, the document reads:
Name: Septem Vel Septendecim Lis (Preferred Name: Sep) Species: Viable Hybrid (Human / Soldrakanoid) Dimorphism: Male DOB: 3-38-04-9001. (1/29/2217) Mass: 0.24 micrograms* (See Addendum) Height: .150mm* (See Addendum)
Followed by copies of that same information in a few other formats. Near the bottom of the page are a few addendums and notes explaining the conditions of humanity's size issues.
...Yup, looks correct, you think. You decide to head off to go visit the Director and get yourself your badge.
{Note: This chapter wasn't written/complete yet at time of Cohost's shutdown}
Footnotes
Joining the Collective was easy enough – their extraterrestrial neighbors were more than happy to offer humans shelter and assistance. A lot more than happy, to put it gently. Aliens meeting each other in groups tend to experience a wave of social and emotional euphoria – that is to say, aliens naturally develop crushes on other species at first sight. And humanity, as the smallest species in space and the newest member of the Collective, was quite a hot topic for months. Many, many species met humanity during that initial acclimation to the cosmic lifestyle – and almost as many saw humanity as playmates, toys, objects of affection, pets... and so on. To this day, the wormhole research project that is the primary lead on possibly fixing humanity’s size drags at a snail’s pace due to just how much the other species assisting the project ‘love’ their human coworkers. To say nothing of the Collective’s nickname for humanity – the Sellans – or the numerous “research projects” with massive embarrassment for mankind as primary consequence. Many new prospective city-type colonies have been relocated to humiliating circumstances in the care of relative giants.
Note
So in the future Psyphon takes over maintaining Vilgax's empire after he "died".
How did that happen?
Couldn't Psyphon no longer come back?
I thought Unaxx would take that responsibility.
I ask too many questions, I'm going to stop.
alright there's a lot of confusion here but luckily I can just copy-paste some stuff I wrote quite literally for context
About Vilgax, Chimera Alpha, and Unaxx:
He was once a high-ranking officer on Chimera Alpha, never its ruler
Everyone who knew him always describes Vilgax as something called “Antigenic” but they never explain what that means
Seeking to rise the ranks and expand the Chimeran empire, he overstepped the permissions of his job and was exiled
Completely giving up on Chimera Alpha, he rose his own empire to expand however he wished, far more effectively than Alpha ever allowed him
Vilgax is infamous throughout the galaxy and as a consequence, is the most well-known Chimera Sui Generis
Vilgax is completely done with Chimera Alpha, as they are with him. Every misdeed of his reflects poorly on them, and as such they hate him and will fire if he is in their sights. He doesn’t think about them at all and has never been back since his exile.
The current ruler (called a “royal elect”) of Chimera Alpha is Unaxx (you-nacks), an equivalent to a 60-something year old enby. No relation to Vilgax, but they were a commanding officer of his before his exile, and send occasional transmissions (usually threats and warning) after it.
Anytime the Chimeran Hammer drifts anywhere near Chimera Alpha, which is always by chance or accident and never his destination, Vilgax is sent a threat like they have a restraining order against him (they do)
They always insult one another. If they’re feeling nice that day, then they might do it subtly.
Something about Vilgax looking terrible (more frequently after his cybernetics) and Unaxx being old and supposed to be dead
The capital of Chimera Alpha is renamed for every new royal elect, so currently it is “Una” (you-na)
There are statues of every royal elect around Una (spread more thinly throughout the rest of the planet), and the most important ones are in a temple by the capital citadel, where the largest ones are showcased like a historical gallery
Newest one being Unaxx’s depiction, naturally
Vilgax does not talk about Chimera Alpha unless directly asked, and is vague even then. Getting him to elaborate is like pulling teeth.
Chimera Alpha tries to ignore his existence and scorn his mention, though everyone knows who he is.
There is even a ban/social stigma against use of his name. Anyone with the same name changed it when he started becoming infamous
Chimera Alpha is quite isolated, and “out of the way”, being in the Shadow Realm system, news from there does not travel far without enhanced communication
Yes, it’s still called the Shadow Realm system. It’s a name from antiquity the occupants have never been able to shake.
Light is also low on the planet. It’s usually at a constant twilight. Nights are also very long. The planet experiences lengths of darkness similar to the Earth’s polar circles
A lot of the plant life is bioluminescent because of this
There are no Space Plumbers on Chimera Alpha. There is occasional communication but the Chimera Sui Generi have not submitted to their jurisdiction.
Not to say there are no Chimeran Plumbers, they’re free to leave and join if they want. The planet and its government as a whole will occasionally speak with and less frequently cooperate with the Plumbers but generally want to be left alone
They’re a combat-oriented society and a militaristic empire. They don’t want to be told what to do or babysat by the galaxy’s goody-two-gumshoes, y’know?
If they don’t act rashly, then the Plumbers are fine them remaining adjacent and not actually being under their umbrella
It’s a delicate situation because while Chimeras love to fight and are well-prepared for it, the prospect of galactic war is um! not fun! for anyone involved! No one wants to light that specific powder keg so everyone minds their business.
But that does mean Chimera Alpha doesn’t have them on speed dial in case of emergency. They usually don’t need their help.
Everyone is just lucky that Unaxx is the most reasonable Chimera alive. Aside from the talking shit to Vilgax’s face. But he can’t do much about that when he’s right in their airspace and they automatically point their deflight guns at him.
He’s not even interested in conquering Chimera Alpha. That’s how little it means to Vilgax. They aren’t even worth the catharsis of showing them what they missed out on or being proven wrong.
