GUYS ! FRIENDS ! FOUND AN ENGINE FOR 3DS GAME HOLD ON
I stupbled upon a video on youtube titled "Making a New MMORPG for 3DS"
youtube
And this guy is doing exactly that. He is using an engine called "Octave Lua" which is a 3d engine for 3DS, Wii, GameCube, Linux, Windows and Android. Here's the GitHub link !! He actually IS the maker of that engine !! CHECK HIS CHANNEL OUT HE TALKS ABT ITTTT
Words cannot express how exited I am !!! When I first decided I would become a game developper, I was 8, and I thought I'd be developping games on the 3DS, since that's the console I was playing at that time. With time, I understood that it would become impossible and scrapped that idea. But not anymore !!!!!!

between Dread continuing from a game on GBA (and really every game prior to that too) and Prime 4 continuing from 2 games on GameCube and Original DS, Metroid has the longest narrative endurance of any multi-creator series I've ever seen. Threads left in stasis decades ago when the series was shelved picked right back up once development resumes—an entire generation of developers later—like nothing ever happened
#metroid#time to play Hunters#I literally wrote like 2 months ago “if they do this right Sylux will be a series household name the same way Dread is now”#theyre doing it#honestly footage they showed looks like absolute garbage though.#utterly unevolved gameplay with worse graphics and animation than Prime Remastered#hopefully it's an extremely alpha engine version with overdeveloped visuals for a teaser.#pray it's another dread/luigis mansion 3/fe echoes scenario where the barebones trailer footage doesnt do the real game justice#currently a Prime Remastered romhack would look and play better than what they showed#and shots STILL dont even cast light. How are you supposed to have immersive environmental atmospherics without dynamic lighting#the Gamecube games UNDERSTOOD that. N64 GAMES UNDERSTOOD THAT#bloom and 4k rendering fog haze doesnt do anything but dilute atmosphere. clarity is what makes graphical engines feel rich#anyways samus' Prime 4 suit design is Peak. THATS Samus. not this form fitting “Zero Suit+Armor” early game bs from the new 2Ds (love u)#ALSO METROIDS ACTUALLY BEING DEPLOYED AS WEAPONS [homer rain gif]

In Mario Party 5, the players' reflections are faintly seen in the ice in the Ice Hockey minigame. However, looking closely reveals that the reflections are not done the same way they were usually accomplished during that console generation (by putting a copy of the model upside-down below the ice), but with low-resolution 2D sprites instead.
This results in the reflections being highly inaccurate, as the sprites are only available for 16 directions while the character can rotate freely and look in any direction. In addition, the sprites have no skates or hockey sticks, appearing to be miming holding the sticks instead. Note Mario merely pretending to hold a stick in the reflection.
It is unknown why this approach was taken as the game has only 6 players on the field simultaneously, and the GameCube is more than capable of rendering 12 characters at once, so that the regular approach with doubling the models and turning them upside-down should have worked without issues. Mr. Blizzard's Brigade, a Mario Party 4 minigame, has an icy surface implemented in that manner, which Mario Party 5 should have been able to reuse since it was programmed in the same engine and used many of the same assets.

BEN!!!! I always kind of dread turning my ideas into art, especially if it's my first time in a while trying to draw a specific character. Thankfully, my version of BEN Drowned is insanely easy to draw! Woo hoo! Some headcanons under the cut:
Benjamin Lawman, born 1984, was a prospect computer engineer, studying his undergrad at Oregon Health and Science University. In 2003, at the tender age of 19, Ben was brutally bludgeoned to death, and his body was tied to bricks and sunk to the bottom of Smith Lake in an attempt to hide the act. The reason behind his murder, and the person (or people) who carried it out are unknown. Lawman's murder is one of the most widely known cold cases in the Western United States.
Seemingly unrelated to this, in 2003, a virus known as Stillwater starts corrupting random devices, from personal computers to gaming consoles. Rates of self-harm, extreme violence, cruelty towards humans and animals, and suicide in households with an infected device are sky-high. The only reason it wasn't declared a national emergency was its relative obscurity, and the fact that infections seemed to happen within small clusters of people, or in niche communities. Most local police departments had no interest in exploring the root cause of any of these clusters of crime, and any that did were quickly overtaken by BEN's demonic influence.
BEN does not have a tangible form. Rather, his ghost is entirely contained in the haunted code that spreads the virus. The one exception is his hold on his victims - BEN is a cognitohazard, which in his case, means that the more a person thinks about him or interacts with him, the more power he has over their thoughts and actions. Still, though, he is unable to hurt people directly. What BEN is able to do in the real world is limited by the amount of devices he has access to, as well as the people who know about him.
A typical Stillwater infection starts on a personal computer, then moves throughout all devices within a household, such as TVs, kitchen appliances, and eventually, your power source. BEN is able to control these devices with the virus, and he uses this control to wreak havoc on a person's life. Draining your online finances, stealing your identity and publicly confessing to horrible deeds under your name, directing power throughout your house in a way that creates fire hazards or blackouts...none of this is off the table for him.
Once Stillwater has infected all of the devices within a household, BEN attempts to gain access to the minds of his victims. They will start to see BEN's face in any surface capable of having a reflection. Mirrors, glass windows, glass cups, actual glasses...it grows to be a living hell in a startlingly short amount of time. The more of a grasp he has over your mind, the closer he looks in the reflections.
The most common direct cause for Stillwater-related deaths is suicide, followed by electrocution, burning to death, and car accidents. It seems that, while BEN is able to enact a huge amount of control over his victims, he is unable to gain ultimate control over their bodies and minds, and his attempts to do so usually lead to his victims' deaths. It doesn't stop him from trying, though.
BEN looking like Link from Majora's Mask is due to his prehumous fixation on the franchise - Stillwater's first infection was on Benjamin Lawman's own GameCube.

A mech pilot settles into her seat as the cockpit hatch closes, enshrouding her in utter darkness before a single pulsating red light shimmers down a neural cable laying to the side of her arm rest.
With a sickening clunk and a brief high pitch 'whirrr' the clasp tightens as she plugs the cable into place at the base of her spine.
A spark of life enters the small room.
LEDs flash on, gauges to various fluids and gas pressures spin in place as a deep guttural hiss is heard from further below.
The automated start sequence begins resetting multiple controls to their standard position as the initial hiss dies down. Multiple generators and engines begin doing their work filling the backdrop with the consistent din of machinery.
Among the controls, many levers begin their own hissing as powerful pneumatics slowly but threateningly glide them up, down, left and right back to their starting positions with enough consistent force to overcome flesh and bone if necessary.
The pilot stretches her legs, kicking the mess of cables hanging below the dash to the side with minor annoyance as the room suddenly brightens with a flash of red as "CONNECTION SUCCESS" fills the screen that makes up the walls of the cockpit.
Multiple feeds from a slew of cameras outside the safety of this cell all come to form a digital windshield put in tune with the pilot via her neural connection.
Stretching her arms above her head, only to groan as they collide with the cramped area, the pilot cracks her neck which causes the feed to distort and many of the smaller control LEDs to flicker violently before resettling in place.
A radio channel is locked on as a voice begins speaking in a serious tone only for the pilot to slap a handful of buttons in a highly practiced but indignant fashion to disconnect and mute the aural feed.
Scratching her side the pilot kicks at the cables a few more times before reaching under and pulling out a Wii U Gamecube Adapter and plugging the USB into a random free slot halfway up her control deck.
She then pushes in on a hidden glove box compartment and unravels her preferred custom gamecube controller and plugs it into the adapter before settling into an intense gamer back position and beginning her sortie.

Grey Explains the fucking Pikmin Series

Overview
the og pikmin 1 and 2 games were made for the gamecube. as a kid i played pikmin 2 and dont really remember playing pikmin 1 if i did. i was dogshit at the game, would get like two caves in, give up, and start over. but now that im a big boy/girl/they i got all the pikmin games on the switch, played through all of them and can say i have certified gamer knowledge on the pikmin series. theres four mainline games in the series, and they follow the same storyline (kinda). the stories of the games are relatively straightforward and easy to understand, but theres a shitton of information surrounding the story found in game about the characters and worldbuilding that really fleshes it out if you know where to look for it. a lot of this information has lead to some interesting speculation about the overarching lore. additionally, the games themselves are really fun to play and pretty unique as far as games go as they emphasize efficiency and multitasking in a way i havent really seen anywhere else
The games vary somewhat, but the overall concept is the same. in these games you play as a space alien who's crashed onto an uncharted planet which is heavily implied to be earth, but is dubbed in the series as PNF-404. the games focus on collecting items back to your ship with the help of a native species called Pikmin, who are plant people you can command in mass with different abilities. pikmin and you dont share a language and they probably dont have the brain power to pass the harkness test, but you can give them commands via whistle to get them do carry stuff and destroy walls and things like that. pikmin are strong in numbers, but are particularly fragile individually, so if you dont manage them properly, they tend to die a lot. pretty much everything else in the environment is bent on killing them and you, and since youre on an alien world, youre usually completely isolated except for the pikmin

another consistent detail is you and your pikmin are very small, so the terrain and obstacles you come across are are typically normal small things but Big. so overcoming the environment takes a lot of numbers to overcome your size. This scale is also convenient for the atmosphere of the game. being this small keeps your view of the world very limited, and leaves a lot of details up to interpretation, like whether or not humans still exist and the implications of that
ill talk a little bit about each of the four games in order, going over storyline, mechanics, worldbuilding, etc. theres two other pikmin games technically, hey pikmin and pikmin bloom, the former of which was such a commercial failure that nintendo tries to pretend it didnt exist, and the latter is just pokemon go but simpler. i havent played hey pikmin, and pikmin bloom really doesnt have a lot going on, so im not going to discuss those
Pikmin 1: the scary one
pikmin 1 is the simplest of the games, being one of the first gamecube games ever released. the game follows Olimar, an alien from the planet Hocotate, long before he get's his smash invitation. a fun fact abt him is that in japanese, his name is Mario backwards (O-ri-ma)
Our protag is on vacation in space in his ship called The Dolphin, he gets hit by a stray asteroid, and crashes onto PNF-404, which is as of yet undiscovered and unnamed. His ship is completely wrecked, and he has 30 days to find the parts of his ship before his life support fails and he succumbs to the toxic oxygen in the atmosphere. fortunately he immediately discovers an Onion, a pikmin mothership. it spits out seeds, which he rips from the ground as a fully formed pikmin. said pikmin can be thrown at stuff to get numbered pellets or kill enemies, which the pikmin drag back to the onion to get sucked up and make more pikmin
he names them that by the way. apparently they look like Pikpik brand carrots from his planet.

he finds the engine for his ship in the area, and after growing enough pikmin, get them to carry it back to the ship. the rest of the game is a cycle of finding 30 ship parts inside the 30 day limit. you unlock new areas as you get parts, and the new areas have new types of pikmin in them
in this series, each day is generally around 15 minutes of real time. at the end of the day, you have to take off in your ship to enter low orbit or be caught by nocturnal predators. pikmin similarly leave in the onion (which can fly). however, if you leave pikmin stranded too far away on the map, theyll die at the end of the day. so its important not to leave your pikmin doing something when the day runs out and youre gifted with a cutscene of watching them be chased down and eaten by the monsters in the area
pikmin 1 has three main pikmin types which reappear in every subsequent game. red pikmin are fire resistant and have 1.5x attack damage. yellow pikmin can be thrown higher than the other two and can hold bomb rocks used to break down rock walls. blues have gills and can survive being in water. you can save a pikmin whos burning or drowning by whistling at it before they die, but pikmin 1 has the strictest time limit having them die after about 1 second

pikmin enemies vary in fighting strategies, and even if you kill them, theyll typically respawn after a few days. some enemies have your ship parts inside them and killing them is required to progress. dealing with most enemies isnt too difficult if you know what youre doing, but youre guaranteed to have at least 100+ deaths on a blind playthrough, especially if you dont know how the enemies work.
at the end of each day, olimar writes a log. these logs are typically triggered by in game events, so theyll be related to what you did that day (examples being discovering a pikmin type, defeating a specific creature, having a large pikmin loss, discovering a new area, etc). he goes into detail about some of the biology of the world he's in, talking about how pikmin work in a sort of tutorial way, walking through how to defeat certain enemies, etc.
when nothing triggers a specific log, olimar has a list of logs he'll go through in order that arent about anything in particular, and this is where you learn the most about his character. Olimar's got a wife, two kids, and a dog, which is his main motivation to get home, and he starts talking about them more and more, thinking about what his wife would say if she saw him in this situation, thinking about his children growing up without him. and when you arent finding parts to trigger normal logs, when youre making no progress, he goes into detail about the dreading his life supports failure and starts becoming quite depressing. he says he finds himself used to being here. that he almost doesn't want to return to everyday life, maybe to just give up and live like a pikmin. he says he no longer cares what happens. he runs out of things to talk about. an unused log in the gamefiles only says "I am so very tired..."
theres two endings to pikmin 1, one where you collect all the ship parts (or the 25 necessary parts. for some reason 5 are arbitrarily unnecessary, but you have to almost go out of your way to not collect them). in that ending, the ships fully repaired and he takes off, wistfully looking back on the pikmin who helped along the way, seemingly unaware this will be the last time they see him, or even why.

if you dont collect all the necessary parts, at the end of the 30 days, olimar will attempt taking off anyway. the ship fails and crashes down again. the pikmin carry olimars lifeless body to their onion, and he gets spit out as a pikmin seed

Pikmin 2: license hell
pikmins sequel takes place immediately after the first game. Olimar lands on hocotate after escaping the pikmin planet, only to be met by his boss, the president of Hocotate Freight, and his coworker louie. the president explains that while you were gone, the company fell into financial ruin. apparently louie was delivering a shipment of golden pikpik carrots but they were eaten by a "ravenous space bunny." so now the company is in massive debt, and all that the president could sell off is your own spaceship which you just spent 30 days of your endangered life painstakingly repairing

but it turns out you brought home an earth bottlecap as a souvenir for your kid, and louie's spaceship (which can talk) identifies it as a valuable treasure that could be sold for well over the average hocotatian yearly salary. learning theres more items like this on the planet, your boss immediately sends you back with your coworker to go gather treasures to pay off the debt.

so thats the opening premise of pikmin 2. youre back on the planet (you crash again sort of, but the ship stays intact), there to gather treasures (which are just normal branded everyday objects like an actual duracell battery. they removed the brands in the switch port) but now with Louie TM. having two captains does NOT give you 2 player coop sadly but you can switch between captains for ultimate multitasking. theres also no day count limit to the game, though the day/night limits still apply.

pikmin 2 introduces several new mechanics, the main one of these is the cave system, which is a series of underground levels full of treasures and monsters, usually capped off with a boss battle at the end. you enter the cave with whatever pikmin you have on hand and cannot get more. the only way to exit the cave with everything you have is to reach a geyser at the end. you can exit prematurely, but all the treasures you collect are dumped. the benefit of caves is they pause the day time limit and killing the boss gives you upgrades like the ability to run fast, punch harder, and lie down and do nothing.
end of the day logs have been replaced with mail you get from the president and your family. the president goes on about how he's being hunted down by loan sharks, has to live under a bridge with dogs, and eventually meets with your wife and calls her cooking shit. you also hear about your wife becoming a gambler now that your pay is raised and how she's forgetting to take care of her kids and dog and keep losing ludicrous amounts of money. and also you get spam mail from prostitutes. olimars notes are instead allocated to the piklopedia and treasure catalog, which give a far more in depth look into his thoughts about the creatures and objects he finds on this planet. he's quite intrigued by biology and talks about what he encounters in a very scientific manner even though he doesnt seem to actually be a scientist. the piklopedia is also great cause you get to throw carrots at the monsters
red and blue pikmin are pretty much the same, but yellow pikmin got completely revamped. they can still be thrown high, but instead of using bombs, they now are immune to electrical hazards. which is a pretty big deal in pikmin 2 because while you can save burning, drowning, and poisoned pikmin, electricity instantly kills pikmin. yellow pikmin would consistently remain the electric pikmin from then on in the series, and are one of my favorite types
the two new types of pikmin can only be propagated in caves from preexisting pikmin. purple and white flowers convert your existing pikmin to the corresponding color. each flower has a 5 pikmin limit, so you cant just spam all your squad into purples. since these pikmin do not have their own onion, they are incapable of growing more of themselves the traditional way, instead carrying enemies to the onions of the main three types. they also are stored in the ship rather than an onion for some reason. which is kinda fucked up like what did they do before you got there. purples are the best pikmin in the entire series as they are super strong and have special pound attacks that can stun enemies. white pikmin are fast, can see buried objects, and resistant to the newly introduced hazard of poison. they are also quite obviously lesbian coded
pikmin 2 has a secret sixth pikmin type, also found only in caves, called the bulbmin. you find these things in groups of 10 following a big mom. if you kill the mom, the 10 babies scatter around and can be whistled into your squad. they look like normal bulborb enemies but are small and have a stem on their back. what you learn in the piklopedia is that this is a PARASITIC FORM OF PIKMIN THAT INFECTED A BULBORB????!!!???? this makes them immune to all hazards, but their monstrous appetite makes them a danger to the rest of your pikmin so you leave them in caves when you escape. you can convert them into other normal types of pikmin by using the flowers but also like. these are just fucked up. these never appear in future games and its a shame.

pikmin 2 has a soft ending when you collect 10,000 pokos (their currency) worth of treasures. no matter what youre doing, the game abruptly stops you to go to a cutscene where you leave the planet and the pikmin. olimar is glad to go home, but while he's looking back and reminiscing, he notices he fucking forgot something
he gets back to hocotate, and the president, fueled by the prospect of even more treasure and the fear of an incoming lawsuit, goes back to pnf-404 with you to find louie. you start getting emails from louie's grandmother for some reason, who seems unaware that he's missing, and she talks about how she used to forcefeed him bugs as a kid(?)
you find louie in a new fourth area at the bottom of the biggest cave in the game called the Dream Den. he's found sitting on a pile of junk which turns out to be a giant biomechanical spider that he may or may not be controlling. defeating the spider lets you get ahold of 5 treasures, four of which are the elemental weapons wielded by the boss, and one of which is just louie himself. he's labeled The King of Bugs (by himself) and apparently is worth 10 cents pokos.

the game never clarifies why the fuck he was down here, if or why he actually tried to kill you, though it speculates if it was out of his own volition, if he was controlling the bug, or if something but collecting him does unlock louie's notes for each creature in the piklopedia which are all uh. um. uh

also if you 100% the game, youre gifted a secret cinematic that reveals that louie was the one who ate the golden pikpik carrots and put the company in debt. so theres just something inherently wrong with him i guess
and thats pikmin 2
Pikmin 3: ipad babies
pikmin 3 is interesting. this game was released like a decade after the first two for the wiiU of all things. its a pretty good game, ive played it quite a bit, and i even got the Deluxe edition for the switch recently. compared to the previous two installments, pikmin 3 is rather short, which seems to be due to cut content, but theres quite a lot of interesting stuff going on in this game. its story is much more linear than the other two games which just sorta let you do things however you want.
Instead of following Olimar, youre instead introduced to a whole new planet Koppai. The narrated cinematic explains that Koppai is a planet suffering from a food crisis due to its inhabitants ravaging the planet of resources without putting much thought into sustainability. Specifically they only eat fruit with Piktamin U in it, and need to find food on another planet in order to save their planet. they send out unmanned crafts to find a planet with fruit on it. they specifically tell you these crafts are called SPEROs (pronounced sparrow). i dont know why they tell you this. its such a specific detail. the ship in pikmin 2 was a whole character and they didnt even give it a name but these fuckers appear on screen once and get a whole unique name.

they finally find a planet five fucktillion lightyears away that has edible fruit on it and name it PNF-404. They send 3 explorers on a spaceship called the Drake to go collect fruit to bring back. These guys names are Alph, Brittany, and Charlie, and are supposed to be named after the NATO phonetic alphabet but nintendo was too much of a coward to call a girl Bravo. compared to the previous games, these guys get much more characterization on screen rather than hidden away in game logs people may or may not read. Charlie's the captain, alph is an engineer, and britanny is a botanist

so these guys use their warp speed technology to get to PNF-404 so they can grab some epic fruits, but predictably
all three captains are separated from each other and land in different areas. you play a little bit as charlie in the intro sequence, just to sorta learn how to throw yellow pikmin you find, and overall do nothing but walk into a cave before uh oh something spooky happens

then you instead get to play as Alph for the first day. he discovers red pikmin and an onion and learn how it all works from mysterious data files that are just lying around in the physical world. so somebody's already been here and knows what pikmin are and how they work. curious

alph manages to find his WiiU certified Integration Tablet aka KoPad and uses it to track down where the Drake landed. despite fucking ejecting all three crewmates while landing, the drake is completely fine, but the other two arent there. Alph briefly gets a zoom call from Britanny explaining shes trapped somewhere before the feed cuts out. with the information that at least one of his coworkers survived and is stranded, alph immediately fucking leaves the planet cause he hears someone gargling mouthwash or something

alph discovers that they lost their Cosmic Drive key, which is necessary to travel fast enough to get back to koppai, and that most of the reserves of juice were destroyed in the crash, so he only has 3 days to find more food out there
the next day you land where brittany's signal came from, discover her passed out, and free her with the help of newly found Rock pikmin which are rocklike and can break crystal and are immune to getting squashed. the multiple characters in this game work similarly to pikmin 2 in that they're for multitasking with the added bonus that they can run across the map independently if you set a destination for them and you can also throw the captain themself to reach higher locations or cross gaps. You also acquire your first fruits, which are normal earth sized fruits. When collected by the drake, the game makes sure to show off all the delicious polygons and play a juicing animation so highly rendered it causes frames to drop
With britanny in your team, you go following another signal the drake picks up in the hopes of finding captain Charlie. Only you get separated again!!! Britanny ends up in a cave where she finds yellow pikmin, who in addition to their normal electric resistance can now conduct charges and dig faster. She and alph have to work separately to build a bridge to allow them to reunite. But if youre a speedrunner you use some funny out of bounds tricks to instead ignore all that and go find the cave where we last saw Charlie.
You defeat a sick ass boss called the venemoth phosbat and Charlie escapes out it's mouth after somehow surviving being eaten this whole time. While he was in there he apparently discovered a data file left behind by a Captain Olimar, who's been leaving all those files littered around. This one states that he found the cosmic drive key, and it's now urgent you find him so you can get it back and escape the planet
Following some signals you eventually find winged pikmin who can fly and can take shortcuts and avoid enemies so much so that they are probably one of the most powerful pikmin in the entire series even with the lower attack strength.
You then get a call from a mysterious caller sending a distress signal who is apparently a hocotatian and mentions olimar by name. This leads the team to believe this is olimar and you need to rescue him. But keen eyed viewers might notice something peculiar about Olimar here...

You find this guy unconscious after defeating a big hummingbird. Apparently these fucking spacesuits knock you unconscious when something scary happens. Which makes absolute sense. So you take him to the drake and have to wait for him to wake up. and the next fucking morning
it turns out Olimar stole all your juice and rubber ducky and ran off and exploded an opening into a new part of one of the previous areas youve been to. since you now have No juice stores, you have to get fruit immediately to avoid losing. everyone is expectedly pissed. Especially Brittany. Brittany is ready to kill a man. you find blue pikmin in this area and eventually save this guy from yet ANOTHER boss fight and after letting brittany deal with him you figure out this isnt ACTUALLY olimar surprise surprise

you learn where actual olimar has gone missing and head over with your pikmin to find him so you can finally get your cosmic drive key and get the hell off this rock. but when you get there, you climb up a weird hill to find him. and you find him similarly unconscious for whatever reason. and he's there with a. uh.

so this things called the plasm wraith and for whatever reason this thing like really likes olimar. like it really wants to keep olimar there. when you try to get him back, this thing becomes a blob that absorbs him, but you can beat it back and get him. but the pikmin are confused and dont know where to take olimar so brittany has to guide them through a series of ostacles and puzzles and beasts to get olimar out of there before the Blob takes him away again. its a really weird sequence where theres no fruit or way to propagate pikmin in this area, its just trying to manage keeping olimar out of reach while accomplishing tasks with the other two captains. an interesting detail is that all the creatures you destroy in this area dont die normally. they collapse into golden goo, indicating that the plasm wraith created them???? or that theyre extensions of the wraith?????
once you get olimar out of the main area, you enter the arena where the wraith goes nutso and absorbs olimar again anyway and enters Boss Battle mode. its got different elemental attacks like the pik 2 boss. once you actually defeat it, olimar is released and eventually released.
the koppaites are able to talk to olimar to get their key back, olimar explains that he's here to repay Another Debt and that this is in fact his third time here. they got their ship wrecked, so you offer to give him a ride to hocotate on your way back to koppai. he also apologizes for louie. louie does not apologize

and thats pretty much the game. if you collect all the fruit, the game hints that the crash that occurred might not have been an accident. you also see the plasm wraith is still alive and is pissed off that youre leaving so that guy just like. still exists. theres the side mode where you return as olimar and louie to get the ship back but not a lot happens there. an odd thing is that theres no post game after the credits. the only way you can do everything is if you collect all the fruits before you do the final boss, while in pik 2 you could go collect the remaining treasures after you finished the story
pik 3 deluxe doesnt have much difference other than additional side modes, but it does have co-op integrated in the main story mode. i dont know why the pikmin games dont have co-op by default to be honest.
I hit the image limit so look out for a pik 4 and general theory addition in the reblogs later on

My wife's husband, Ahriman, recently informed me that he tried downloading the new Oblivion Remaster on our Xbox One. He found it was not only 122 freakin' GB but it would also only install internally because it needed a "high speed drive" to run.
Again, I ask, AAA studios, what the fuck is your problem? We don't need "texture streaming" we just want fun games that fucking fit on your hard drive or a disc or whatever. I don't need to see every single individually rendered pore on an NPCs face to have fun with a game.
I've been playing Minecraft for over 10 years and enjoying every single blocky pixelated moment.
I've been playing Sims Bustin' Out on Gamecube, and having a blast with a game that's doesn't even take up a full GB of space!
I've been taking beauty screenshots on maps from Unreal Tournament 2004, a 21 year old game engine that still looks and sounds lovely. This game did take a few GB of space, but it's still a noticeable problem when a PC game goes from being 9 GB to 100+. Sheesh.
Please stop making games that demand my entire fucking hard drive for the sake of graphics. You can make games pretty without making them ridiculously bloated.
