What seems to be a neutral meeting to a bad start, Riddle saw you breaking rules even if you did not commit them. And yet you pretty much didn’t care about it, after all it’s only fair that there will be misunderstandings and conflict.

and Hope, who's a Lieutenant, is like 👀 but also like 😒 because she's kinda famous? Like her family are pretty involved in the firefighting/paramedic/EMT scene (idk if there's a proper term I apologize) and a lot of rookies and probies want to join the station where Hope works bc hey, the entire Mikaelson legacy is there and they're legends, so Hope's on guard making sure that she keeps her distance cuz who knows--she's encountered one too many fans seeking her out because of her name and not because they wanna get to know her

anyways so Josie and Lizzie are the new paramedics for the fire station and they just moved to the city and are from Mystic Falls idk sure

and Hope's like "don't go after the newbies" but like she does clock in Josie and is like 👀 anyway

Josie and Lizzie are new so like, maybe they don't know anything about the Mikaelson family. but anyway the twins integrate well with the rest of the fire family at the station but Hope's still keeping her distance and keeping an eye on them. Lizzie thinks Hope's too pretentious but Josie's intrigued and also 👀

Maya being Maya hits on Josie a few times. it's very light hearted and Josie flirts back cuz like it's fun it's whatever but Hope gets a little annoyed and is all

Josie continues to be very intrigued with Hope after that

then they get a really big call. huge car accident on a high way, multiple injured. Hope focuses on her work but watches in awe as Josie does her. She's an incredible paramedic. Very thorough with what she does and efficient, but also so warm and kindhearted toward the people she's saving. There's an air about her that captures Hope's attention.

Since then Hope's been paying very close attention to paramedic Josie Saltzman. and unbeknownst to our Lieutenants, Josie's been paying very close attention to Lieutenant Hope Mikaelson.

Anyway bla bla bla things happen, more working together on scene, hanging out with the crew after work, bla bla bla, and Hope and Josie become really fast friends but also there's like this weird unspoken tension between the two that Lizzie and Maya both keep poking and prodding and teasing them about (oh, also, Lizzie ends up getting together with both paramedic MG and firefighter Ethan bc I want my Mizzethan throuple gosh darn it)

first of all, congrats to your excellent taste. (on Martin.... and on my blog, I suppose) 😃 And of course, I don't mind.

With Breeders and Sherlock you've already watched my 2 personal favourites. I'll also have to recommend Fargo and The Responder. And The Office (the original version from the UK, he was fantastic in that!). Also, StartUp is worth a watch, even tho Martin's role is not that big. But every scene he is in is automatically 500% better. Small warning: The Shower Scene™ and the Cafecito Scene™ should be illegal. I am more a fan of Martin's tv work, but as movies I really like Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Black Panther, Ode to Joy, The World's End. The Hobbit movies as well. I am really looking forward to see Miller's Girl, which should be released at the beginning of next year (February?).

What I like about him? So many things: his love for music and fashion, his sense of humour (often misunderstood, but it's 100% my cup of tea), his thoughts on fame (he hates it), the way he always speaks his mind (which many people see as rude, but I envy how he doesn't give a shit about what other people think about him and his opinions), his hair (😆, i hope it grows back fast once he's done with shooting the 2nd season of The Responder), his looks in general. Just the way he talks: I could listen to him for hours and don't get bored. I don't really have headcanons, I think.

Truly active Martin blogs are rare these days, sadly. Lots of Sherlock blogs around, but blogs dedicated to Martin are hard to find.

Heya! Could I have headcanons with Aomine, Akashi, Himuro, Akashi and Kise (KNB and hope that's not too many characters) with an S/O who has joint hypermobility so she's often really tired and her body hurts for no reason? What would they do to help/comfort her etc? Hope this is okay ask!

Aomine Daiki

Has only a vague idea what you’re talking about, even if you explain it.  Of course, he can see when you’re in pain, or when your tired, but all the mumbo jumbo that goes along with it?  Not so much

The details don’t really matter to him anyway.  He cares about you, if you need help, he’ll help.

He thinks the way your joints move is kind of awesome and might push the envelope a little when getting you to do it on purpose.  Gets a clue pretty fast if you say something, but you have to say something.  This kid does not do subtle hints or passing references

Will carry you around on his back if needed, or rub your aching limbs, but he’s gonna complain while doing it.  Nothing that makes you feel bad, but he has to let everyone around know that this is an exception and a favor that will cost you.

Note: it is not and it won’t

He is lazy AF tho, so expect a lot of lying around on top of or beside him, tucked into him.  Keeps a surprisingly close eye on you, though will deny it until he’s literally red in the face (hello tsun-tsun!)

Anyone messes with you about it, verbally or physically, he’s going to beat the ever loving shit out of them, regardless of the consequences.  No one messes with his girl

Akashi Seijuro

Probably knows more about your condition than you do.  Also likely knew you had it, before you got together.  It’s a drive, he has to know everything about the people that interest him.

It’s a little hard for him not to treat you any differently because of it, mostly because he’s hyperaware of you, and thus your health, and he’s more than a little autocratic.  A scolding or two and he’ll try to let it go some, but don’t expect him to back off completely.

He’s a know it all, so you know he’ll have researched the shit out of it, and probably spoken to an expert.  This boy doesn’t do things by halves, and once he’s set on your, the devotion and attention are complete.  He’s a control freak and he wants you to be as healthy as can be.

However, he’s not an idiot either.  He can see the boundaries you place as you place them, and he tries, and is mostly successful, to abide by them and help you maintain them.

Unfortunately, all bets are off if you have an emergency, like you faint or pass out from tiredness, or are too sore to get out of the bed.  Get ready for Ore-sama to come out.  Will keep you in bed or stationary until you’re better, and sees to your care himself.

He’s a yan, so it’s expected.  He always backs off eventually, however, especially if you get upset with him and you are demonstratively better.  Be prepared for a lecture though, and to not have the opportunity to get so bad again for a long time.

Himuro Tatsuya

He listens to your explanation carefully when he notices the issues you have.  He trusts you to know what’s best for you, and will follow any instructions you give him.

Basically, he just wants to be there for you and help with anything you need.  100% supportive boyfriend, this one.

He might get a little naggy sometimes, if he thinks you’re pushing yourself too hard, especially if he sees obvious signs of discomfort or exhaustion.  He’ll never force you to stop, but he’s pretty good at getting and keeping your attention.  He’s tricksy~

Does things like carry your stuff, and pulling out chairs, and just generally chivalrous things that make your life easier.  It’s painfully obvious to everyone that you are his girlfriend.  Doesn’t even look at anyone else, no matter how many attempts others make at him.

Murasakibara finds it amusing to watch him fuss.  Isn’t the type to go out of his way to help, but Mura will catch you or whatever if Himuro isn’t around.  Might try and test how mobile you are tho, so watch out.

Himuro secretly always hopes you’ll ask him for help, since he likes taking care of you, especially if he gets to touch you.  Innocuous touches are his favorite so he finds ways to touch you, using your condition to his advantage.  Nothing negative or creepy, again, he’s just very supportive and not so secretly wants to spoil you.

Kise Ryouta

The first time he sees a joint do something it’s not supposed to, he panics, especially if there is pain involved.

Once he’s let you in, he’s all in, and cares about every little thing about you.  If your hurting or tired, then he wants to help. Though he wants to help, he’s not always aware when you are having a bad spell, so you’ll have to tell him sometimes

Will blow off modelling gigs if you need him, no matter how many times you scold him.  You are higher in importance than his side job.

He still wants to be babied, he’s just more aware of your condition and so never hangs or whines when you’re not feeling well.

He can get a little impatient if he wants to go out and you’re too tired, he has so little time that he finds it frustrating.  He can’t actually blame you, though, so he plans elaborate home dates instead.  Not really sure what elaborate entails, but he manages.  He’s over the top, so you can imagine

He’s used to being taken care of, not taking care of someone else, but he’s clever so he learns.  It’s even better if you are independent about your condition.  He’s weird, he wants to be needed, but also doesn’t like too much clinging?  Ask him for what you need and he’s absolutely there.

He’s contradictory as well though, because sometimes he just picks you up if you look tired.  Basically, he does what he wants.  He’s like a cat lol

maybe horis point is some VERY optimistic view in bnha world that the next generation is more understanding and less violent. like idk maybe shouto and shouji could have ended up violent in their ways but because their classmates werent evil shitheads and they made friends they managed to not be swallowed up by the worlds ugliness. (im saying this with a "this is a battle shonen/fictional story" mentality and logic. irl the only way to change anything is through protests/violence/wars)

Mmh, well, I don't disagree about the limitations of a battle shounen manga. I'm well aware of them. However, I think the problem in bnha is that the writing often doesn't follow up on its own set ups.

Let me try to clarify this. It's true that Horikoshi doesn't seem interested in writing any actual change on a societal scale. I probably went into this expecting it to be a story about something else, and that's on me. I can't fault Hori for not writing what I hoped to read.

However, while the overarching point might not be fixing social issues, Horikoshi did set up the hero kids as people who want to break from the mold. Bnha is largely a story about mentors and mentees, but take Deku for example: his mentor, Gran Torino, was certain Shigaraki was long past the point of saving, and admonished Toshinori against sympathizing with him. Yet, despite the fact that Deku normally thinks his mentors hung the moon, he still goes against their judgment with his resolve to save Shigaraki.

So the set up is that Deku will eventually see past their hero/villain labels and acknowledge Shigaraki's humanity.

Problem is, the story is nearly wrapping up, but we're still lacking a proper follow up. It just stays a resolve, but there's no action that supports this.

The hero trio is supposed to be headed towards rescuing their villain foils, but any common ground they have with them always takes the backseat. Every time there's an opportunity for them to act and do better than their mentors, the kids revert to being angry and perpetrating the mindset of the previous generation. This is shown most clearly with Shouto, who unconsciously repeats his parents' calls for Touya to "just stop" (and in the process, keeps scapegoating him as a bad victim who keeps inconveniencing others instead of just moving on).

If anything, I'd say that the problem is exactly this: positing one side, the good guys, as the "good victims", and the villains as the "bad" ones. It drives attention away from the fact that they've both suffered unjustly, and postpones indefinitely any attempt for a dialogue.

Now, bnha probably will never go as far as dismantling the perpetrators that caused that suffering on both sides of the current conflict. Think of how his solution to the corruption of the Hpsc was killing Madam President and replacing her. But I think it would be nice if the story could finally move away from that good vs bad, black vs white thinking and show us the heroes' growth instead of dangling in front of our eyes like a carrot on a string. The point is for kids to be more understanding? Then show them acting like it. If you cannot make them empathize with the villains yet because that's too fast, at least show them actually listening to what the villains are saying. Ffs, Touya is Shouto's brother but Shouto didn't listen to a single word Touya said.

Does this make sense? I Don't know. I think I'm gonna drop the subject for now tho, since talking about this in circles doesn't help getting rid of my frustration

This is gonna turn into an essay so I'm just gonna slap a read more so people can skip by it

Yeah I definitely see where he could be like Adam Driver, also I wonder if 65 will be any good, I hope so.

This is actually a really funny question. I don't really have any celebrities I think of for him. I think part of the reason I go for masked characters is that I don't actually have to imagine a face for them, even with characters like mando where I know what he looks like under there I don't actually imagine Pedro's face when I write for him. I don't really imagine a full face at all.

And with Ghost and König, it's not...necessarily that I imagine just...an amorphous blob where their face is, I just don't always picture details if that makes sense? I picture specific facial expressions far more (regardless of how I picture his face, this grin is burned into my brain). Now that I've written for both of them a lot I do have a slightly clearer picture of what they look like to me, and I'm sure there are celebs out there that match that but I couldn't find any with quick google searches.

If I had to describe how I generally picture König (neck up specifically, body would have to be a whole other post), it would probably be something like this, but I'm not strongly attached to any one interpretation, I see quite a few different ones I like:

I imagine a large Adam's apple (I just think he has a very nice neck) and an angular jawline, and above that,

definitely a pronounced nose with a little bump on it, maybe a little crooked from breaking it one too many times.

I don't think his hair would be too long so it doesn't get in the way of things, but I like to think it's longer on the top, long enough to tangle your fingers in and a little wavy.

When he takes the hood and balaclava off it sticks up and is all messy and fun to play with. I bet he's secretly proud of his hair and puts a lot of time into it when he's at home so it gets really soft, but he'll pout if you mess it up before he goes out.

I think he shaves daily and his stubble grows fast. He might grow it out a few days if you asked him, but then wouldn't like the sensation of it (esp. under a mask) and would shave it off. He also might have a couple bald patches on his jaw that he's sensitive about

If I had to pick a hair color it would probably be a really dark dirty blonde, maybe some lighter streaks if you get him out in the sun (please slather him in sunscreen first he for sure burns easily). Not super attached to any hair color with him tho

Honestly that's kind of as far as I picture his face, he's got nice eyes tho as we can all see

I really just think he has a very expressive face where all his emotion is painted on it clear as day

I think everyone thought that they were the only ones who watched knb; me included. I used to have the BIGGEST crush on aomine, i even found an asmr of his. (and yeah i do listen to asmrs btw) And yeah the fandom is almost dead (｡ ́︿ ̀｡) and I didn’t even get to read that many aomine works too…but yeah I really liked that anime! Haikyuu made me cry after clannad and also made me laugh the hardest, does hold a special place in my heart as well, Bokuto was my fav and rn… no one really. now, for Chizu-chan and Yano-chin~ [we get Cater later]

I want to adopt Chizuru and Yano is such a gem. It’s been a while since I last watched Kimi ni Todoke but I’m currently finishing reading the manga and, let me say, I was really (gladly) surprised since episode 1 that Chizuru and Yano would become such good friends for Sawako in all ways

Because they really start off as a bit absent minded and just like everybody, they didn’t get that Sawako was really gentle and not-scary at all, but the friendship that grows between the three of them and as the manga/anime flesh out their characters, you simply fall in love with them. 

I love how Chizu is this big tall delinquent-ish (without actually being one) with a big heart and 100% air head in everything lol she’s so precious <3 as for Yano, at the same time I didn’t think much about her previously (more bc she’s a very solid character and that’s enough for me), reading the manga helped me see more of her and discover a lot of development and growth that was really interesting. Her arc is very deep but so good!

In summary, I love them! Like Hanajima and Uotani from Fruits Basket, Chizuru and Yano are another iconic best supporting friends duo for our beloved protagonists <3

Now, Yulia is an introvert and Cater is an extrovert. That alone sums up the situation they have lol While it’s true that Yulia is not so intimate of Cater as with other Heartslabyul boys (especially Deuce, Riddle and Trey), they have a normal acquaintance relationship and Cater treats Yulia like the little sister he never had: quiet and that don’t drives him crazy~

So in general they might not be besties~ but Cater likes Yulia’s presence in Heartslabyul and will try to spoil her a little bit (more like bribing her to help him take photos and eat at cafes so someone can dispose of the cute pies and cakes that he will never eat).

Yulia does know of Cater’s backstory and his inner sadness with all the personal stories she read about him previous to her isekai’d situation, and she relates to him about having to move out from where one was previously established a lot of times bc it happened to her too in her world. “He’s like me fr” — she cries a bit remembering it

But that’s how far and relatable Cater can be for her tho. Yulia senses really fast that Cater hides a lot of insecurities behind his facade and that his social-driven personality is very influenced by this problem too (at the same time, there’s a bit of truth in it). And yes, she will run away from having to go outside NRC in most cases bc she already dislikes interacting needlessly and going out really burns her out, so she has to be strong when Cater cries out that “it will be so fun to go shopping and see stuff!!~” and she denies. Sometimes too fast that it should be considered rude. 

Cater laughs at this, believe it or not. Maybe bc it reminds him of Idia and while Yulia is a bit more outspoken if measured next to Idia, she has most of his mannerisms and dislikes. Then again, Yulia’s quiet personality is something that Cater started to appreciate, especially next to the fact that he was surrounded by energetic girls like his older sisters. Also, Yulia has a sweet tooth, so Cater can always count on her to eat his leftovers from Unbirthday Parties when he couldn’t get Trey to change the flavor.

Yulia is not particularly someone who asks to eat something a second time but she is really, 100% thankful that Cater helps her out on that. 1) bc she doesn't need to ask for more herself, 2) her stomach is a black hole when it’s about cake and chocolate. 

In summary, Yulia gives a 6/10 for Cater in terms of good average relationship. No, she will not call him “Cay-kun” or “Cater-senpai” in a cute voice. All things considered, it would be easier to get her to say that than taking a picture together lol

Hello darling !! I'll try to do my best to tell you what works for me aside from just 'be yourself' lmao Side note most of these tips are regarding confidence in physical appearance, since that is where most of my own confidence stems from.

Real talk tho confidence is like,,, smthn that does take some work to get. When I wasn't as confident as I am rn, one of the things that helped me grow confident & learn to be more accepting of compliments is to act confident. When I used to be a model, some of the basic advice we were given to appear confident in whatever we wore was to have straight posture, keep your eyes level, chin up, place your whole foot on the floor with each step and walk at a casual pace that is neither too fast nor too slow. Acting confident might not immediately give you confidence, but in my experience, it sort of made me get used to the feeling of appearing confident so much to the point that i just kind of eventually became confident, and compliments become easier to accept.

Dressing up in a way that you like and in clothes that make you feel like hot shit really helps tbh

Being less self-deprecating and more complementary towards yourself helps too! Before, to help me feel more confident, I used to try to compliment myself in the mirror. Some days when I was grasping for something to say abt my features, I'd instead compliment things like my jewelry or nails or makeup or my clothes or smthn. Doing smthn like that is a small thing and honestly from an outsider's perspective it could seem vain or stupid but lmao who fucking cares imo that shit builds up over time and it really helps.

Being around people who match your vibe is good because imo when you're around people who won't just give you a generic 'oh yeah you look good' but will say smthn like 'your top is really cute! the fit really suits you and the color really compliments your skin tone' or smthn like that it makes you feel fucking amazing

Learn what your angles are. This is super important because sometimes (from my experience at least) a terrible fucking photo could be a real hit to your low confidence. And like obvi everyone has a good angle and then a great angle, and it just takes some posing in a mirror and some trial and error to see what looks good. Using those angles in your own photos or in photos with friends can make you look and feel absolutely fuckin fire.

I’ll jsut,,, end that there bc lowkey I think I was starting to stray a teeny bit from the original ask towards the end HAHAHA I hope these help though? Keep in mind that these are just what worked for me so I can’t say for certain that these will work for everyone, but I still hope that they could help somehow!

Ouch.

For several years in a row, while my niece and nephew were between the ages of like 12 and 20, I had decided it would be best to skip family functions with my dad's side of the family. I've led a rather ... unconventional ... life, and I didn't want any of my past mistakes? choices? lifestyle so in anyway have some sort of negative influence on how niece and nephew grew up.

I may be wildly overestimating my influence over people in my family, but I do remember parts of my life around that age, and I recall being desperate to grab onto even the slightest hint of anything subcultural-- partly as an escape from my own life, and partly as a "fuck you" to my family.

And, now, as I'm trying to reconnect, of course things are strained... I assumed they would be, but I guess part of me was hoping I'd be getting invitations to all the family things again, like I used to. Instead, I just have to kinda show up, or send repeated messages to my dad or sister.

I get that I've probably hurt them by my absence, or whatev. I guess I don't really have any kind of clue about what they thought/think about all my missing time. I'm pretty sure they don't think its anything like the "noble reason" that I stayed away.

At one point, after we'd broken up, I found out that while I was with an ex of mine, he had actually been working at the same restaurant as my niece! I don't know if he knew she was my niece, but I'm stuck on the thought that, if he did know-- well, either way, really ... he could have said or done some pretty damaging things by telling her all kinda shit, real or made up.

Several years ago, I asked my sister if my niece had known him, and my sister said, enthusiastic as ever, that she'd ask my niece and let me know. Time passed... nothing. A year passed... nothing. Years... nothing.

And, finally at my most recent birthday dinner, last October, when it was just my dad, sister, and my niece, at an awkward silence, it dawned on me that I never heard an answer to that! So, I asked my niece and she gave me the weirdest look, looked across the table to my sister, then back to me and said, "Well, yeah! But that was such a long time ago!"

And, I proceeded to say, "yeah, such a small world. we used to date. he actually lived with me for a year or so..." and nothing more was said on the topic.

Now, fast forward ~6 months, and I haven't heard word 1 from any of them. I got a message from dad making sure to invite me to christmas b/c he was concerned my sister didn't invite me.

I went to christmas. it was the standard awkwardness. I bumped into my step mother, and she said, "oh hi! I didn't expect to see you here." and i took that to be just her being a bitch, as usual.

I know my dad has known I'm gay for at least 20 years. I'd assumed my sister knew too, tho I've never directly told her. I know my step-brother has some deeply rooted good ol' boy american racist tendencies that pop out at randomass moments, and so now I'm thinking maybe the disconnect and the resulting total cold shoulder is b/c either my sister _didn't_ actually know, and has a problem with it, or, she had been hiding it from my step-brother, and since i'd brought it up to my niece, maybe she told her dad, and now it's all just gone to shit.

all this just help to mark another few tallies on the "FAMILY SUCKS" side of the Life Experiences board. It's really at the point where there is only one member of my family, my aunt, helping me hang onto the wild concept that "FAMILY IS GOOD." She's an amazing person, in general, and as a family member... well, she's definitely worth holding onto the idea that family is good.
