Just so you all know I will laugh at all of the Ninjago fandom if that one child in the Ninjago united trailers is not Arin. I’ll laugh even harder if he’s not even that relevant.
Imagine if we got a s11 trailer that involved footage of Kai saving Jake and the whole fandom immediately latched onto him.
(This is all /lh btw dw)

Credit where credit is due because it was @poppitron360 bringing up Jason’s extended family in a fic that made me think about this.
Anyway. I think Leo deserves some closure with his extended family, too. Obviously it’s never going to happen with his shitty aunt. However. He has a cousin.
His name is Raphael. We don’t really know anything about him except that he bullied Leo when they were kids (that’s the only half-sentence mention he gets). Obviously this isn’t a great start, but I think it makes sense in context.
Rosa never liked Leo. Maybe it was a superstition thing. Maybe she took issue with the fact that his dad wasn’t in the picture. Maybe she convinced herself that he’d somehow ruined her sister’s life. Either way, of course her behaving that way and talking badly about him affected her own kid.
Raphael also didn’t really get Leo, who went on about boring machine stuff Raphael didn’t care about for ages and just wouldn’t shut up. Who’d only play in very specific ways and get upset when Raphael tried to change the rules. He was weird, and Raphael didn’t like him, so he was mean to Leo.
When Rosa tells him Leo is going away and he’ll never have to see him again, Raphael isn’t upset. He takes his mom at her word that it was Leo’s fault his aunt died.
But Raphael was nine, then.
(I’m putting most of this under the cut because it got incredibly long. Oops. Fair warning, I did make myself weep writing this.)
Raphael doesn’t think about Leo for years. They were never close. He’s just a weird kid that used to be a family member but that they’re not seeing anymore. Raphael has friends and school to worry about. Leo doesn’t even cross his mind.
But then he’s packing for college, going through boxes in the attic, and there’s two that look weirdly different from the rest. He’s curious and opens them. It’s mementos. Pictures of Esperanza, and of Leo, and a whole bunch of random trinkets taken from their apartment after the workshop burnt down. And suddenly he’s wondering what happened to his baby cousin, ashamed he hasn’t thought of Leo in so long.
So he asks his mom. Rosa shrugs and tells him Leo went into the foster system and they’ll thankfully never have to deal with him again. That if there’s any justice in the world, he’s dead, because it’s his fault that his mom died.
Raphael is horrified to hear her talk like that. Leo was eight. Even if he did make a stupid mistake that somehow led to his mom dying—and he isn’t nine anymore, he won’t just take his mom’s word for it this time—that’s more traumatizing to Leo than anything. And he was just left alone to deal with it all. A child with so much blame on his shoulders, made to feel like his family didn’t love him.
He’s kicking himself for not asking about Leo sooner. For not being nicer to him when they were kids. For not being there for him when his mom died.
He asks which foster home Leo went to, and his mom snaps at him to drop it. But Raphael doesn’t drop it. He asks his dad when he gets home, and his dad tells him.
It’s a dead end. Leo hasn’t been there in years. Ran away after a few days, apparently. It’s a miracle the person he calls even remembers who he’s talking about.
There’s nothing he can do about it now. But he takes the boxes along to college. If Leo can’t have them, the least Raphael can do is keep them far away from his mom. He puts up a picture of Esperanza and little Leo along with the ones of his own friends. Because if all he can do is carry their memory, he will.
The question of what happened to Leo never quite lets Raphael go. He tries a few avenues over the years, but it’s like Leo vanished into thin air. The only solace he has is that he doesn’t find any obituaries that fit.
Eventually, he decides to look into becoming a foster parent with his wife, and that’s how he finally finds Leo. One of the older social workers mentions she knew a Valdez boy that would be around his age now. Got into a whole bunch of trouble. Ran away from several different foster homes. He was sent to Wilderness School in Nevada the last time she saw him. Apparently ran away with a classmate—Piper McLean. Never heard from him again after that.
She only remembers because Piper is the daughter of a film star she really liked at the time. It’s just a weird random anecdote to her.
But Raphael knows Piper McLean. Not well—they’ve never really talked—but he’s seen her at an office party or two because she’s married to one of his coworkers. Reyna works in a different department, but he could talk to her. Ask her if Piper knows what happened to Leo. If maybe they’re still in contact, though that seems like a long shot after so many years.
He’s desperate and terrified to maybe, finally, get some kind of answer.
It takes him two weeks to work up the courage to talk to Reyna. She’s confused at first. They’ve only made smalltalk a few times, most of it work related.
But when he brings up Leo, something in her face changes. Yes, she knows Leo. He’s never mentioned a cousin—Raphael isn’t surprised—but she supposes a cousin could exist. She asks what he wants from Leo, and he’s honest with her about the fact that they didn’t have a great relationship growing up but tells her he’s grown since then and that he still has some stuff that rightfully belongs to Leo that’s been sitting in boxes in his house for years.
She gives him Leo’s number, albeit with some reluctance.
He calls and tells Leo that he gets if he doesn’t want to talk to him but at the very least he wants him to have the boxes with Esperanza’s things—boxes that should have been his in the first place. Leo doesn’t even have to see him if he doesn’t want to. Raphael can just drop the boxes off with Reyna or something. But he wanted to apologize for being a jerk when they were kids, because Leo didn’t deserve that.
———————
Leo is shocked to hear from Raphael, to say the least. When he first hears the name of the person on the other end of the line, he freezes up. He barely manages to keep it together for the call and afterwards, he melts into Jason’s arms and starts weeping because a part of him is terrified that this is some sort of cruel prank. Terrified to let himself hope he actually has a relative on his mom’s side of the family that cares. Terrified of whatever might or might not be in those boxes.
But he agrees to meet Raphael, if reluctantly, and he brings Jason. Maybe there’ll be some closure in it. He’s wary, because his cousin was really mean to him when they were kids, but they were also eight and they’re adults now and he realizes kids sometimes do dumb shit when they’re eight and growing up with terrible adults.
Leo is anxious when they walk into the restaurant where they’re meeting for lunch—Jason promises to lightning bolt Raphael through the nearest wall if he starts shit, which makes Leo laugh and relax a little, and they walk in holding hands.
Raphael spots them and his whole face lights up. He looks so different from how he looked as a kid, but there’s still that same scar on his forehead from the time he ran into a table when they were six. He still has the same eyes twinkling with mischief, but they’re not malicious now. He looks genuinely happy to see Leo.
Raphael is clearly nervous meeting Jason, who’s much taller and much more muscular than him, which Leo takes great joy in. And Leo gets the apology he was promised. He’s shocked to hear how long Raphael has been looking for him—shocked that apparently someone on his mom’s side of the family did care about what happened to him. And Raphael doesn’t even ask about his mom. Doesn’t ask what happened, which Leo was terrified he would. He just tells Leo he won’t believe the bs his mom is spouting about him anymore, and he’d like to be at least a little involved in Leo’s life, if Leo wants that. Even if it’s just the occasional call or Christmas postcard. But if Leo wants nothing to do with him after everything, he understands that. He’s just glad to know that Leo is safe and happy and loved.
Leo tells him he’ll think about it.
Jason sits with him when he finally brings himself to open the boxes. There’s so many pictures—several framed ones that they had up on the walls and a whole photobook with pictures of Leo, from birth until age eight. There’s several pictures of just him, and several of the two of them together. The last few pages are empty—memories they never got to make—and all of it is so incredibly painful but he can’t believe he gets to have all of this. Jason holds him through it, stroking his back and kissing his hair and telling him they can take breaks whenever he wants. Leo spends all night telling his husband so many half-forgotten stories of his mom as they look through the pictures.
There’s more in the boxes. A few of Esperanza’s tools. Her lucky screwdriver. An old folder with project sketches she made all the way back at uni that she’d sometimes show Leo drafts of. Random decorative items they had up around the house, many of them hand-crafted. There’s this tiny toy dragon his mom made him as a consolation when he was small and begging for some cool toy they absolutely couldn’t afford and Leo cannot stop crying when he finds it.
Also up there with the photos and the dragon on the list of things that make Leo weep the most is a thick notebook that’s halfway coming apart. It’s got pages torn from magazines and hastily written notes stuffed into it. Some pages have prints glued on them, others are hand-written, in his mom’s hand and different ones Leo doesn’t recognize. A lot of it is faded, and some of the pages have clearly had water spilled on them by accident, but most of it is still legible.
It’s his mom’s old cookbook.
And it’s so much less of her than he should have. But having all those memories back that he thought he’d lost forever means everything.
But after a full night of weeping in Jason’s arms and a lot of cooking (and making sure the cookbook is no longer at a risk of fading or falling into bits when you breathe on it) and even more processing he shoots his cousin a message that just says “I think I like the idea with the Christmas cards”.
And they’re never going to be best friends or anything. I don’t think Leo ever tells Raphael the truth of who he is or what happened to his mom.
But they talk to each other on the phone sometimes. Leo meets Raphael’s wife, and, eventually, his kids. Raphael meets Sofía a handful of times and sends her birthday gifts and Christmas cards every year.
He’s the reason Sofía gets to grow up with her abuela’s cooking and with pictures of Esperanza scattered around the Waystation, and Leo is always going to be grateful for that.
I’m assuming like three people total will read this all the way to the end at most! Thank you for putting up with today’s specific Leo brain worms. Not sure if this will ever be a proper fic because I have way too many ideas but have this for now

4:30 pm -
“Woonie, what part of this looks like a fort to you?” A fit of laughter threatens to escape your mouth. The pillows were rapidly falling, making your end of the pillow fort look like a sad pile of blankets. Woonhak gave you a sheepish glance, hurriedly adjusting the pillows and placing books to hold up the pillows in place. He wanted you to enjoy your spot in the fort, and he wouldn’t have as much fun either if the pillows kept falling onto your head.
After some 30-odd minutes of watching and giggling as Woonhak fixed the fort, the precious pillow fort was finally done. Plopping onto the blankets, he turns to you asking, “What should we watch?” You pretend to think for a really long time, putting your fingers under your chin. Muttering softly, you name movies you always enjoyed as a child. "Well I always liked James Bond...or maybe Harry Potter...oh wait, how about Tangled? Nah, there's also Wall-E...oh but what about Pirates of the Caribbean?"
Woonhak laughs, staring at you with wide eyes as he listens intently to you ramble on about the various movies and genres you enjoy. Your quiet muttering would sound crazy to anyone else, but to Woonhak, it was incredibly calming. The way your voice sounded like a harmony that blessed his ears. He could listen to you for hours, days on end, and he'd never get bored.
"So...Wall-E?" He tilts his head toward you, breaking the silence after you've stopped muttering. The screen flicks, changing to show the preview of Wall-E. Smiling to yourself, you nod, adding, "We should definitely watch it." Woonhak giggles, re-enacting how Wall-E was when he met Eve.
"Eeeeve. Eeve? Eva." You burst out laughing at his robot impression, sounding more similar to a chipmunk than a bot. “Woonie, you sound like Alvin.” He rolls his eyes, playfully scoffing as he grabs the remote to click play.
“Hey- if I’m Alvin, who are the others?” He asks, whispering to you. Without even turning to him, you quickly shush him, telling him that this is a part he shouldn’t miss. It was the scene where Eve and Wall-E are running from the other robots, but the Captain knows that Eve has the last plant from Earth. You’d always loved Wall-E, telling your mom when you were little that robots had a better love story than most people.
You giggle at the screen, settling yourself into the fort, bringing a blanket over yourself. Next to you, Woonhak couldn’t focus on the screen, rather, he was staring at you. Sometimes you never failed to make him laugh and you were like a walking sunshine. He couldn’t believe that you were next to him and on Valentine’s Day too no less.
On the other hand, you were beginning to feel sleepy. Perhaps it was because most of your energy was spent laughing with Woonhak as you both made the fort, but either way, you were tired. Your eyelids felt increasingly heavy as you tried your best to focus on the movie.
You relented, giving in to your body wanting sleep. “Used up all your energy, huh?” He laughs quietly, sighing happily as your head falls onto his shoulder. For a few minutes, he watched the movie, making sure to not move so that you could sleep well. The movie was quietly playing in the background as he felt himself get tired with you.
Thirty minutes later, Jaehyun and Sungho came back from the store, grocery bags in hand. They set down the bags, chattering about how they could use help and how they’ll eat all the food if no one else came to help. But how were you both supposed to know? After all, you and Woonhak were asleep in the pillow fort; the movie now playing the credits.
“Hm? Is Woonhak in his room?” Sungho nods at Jaehyun’s question, as he takes out a bottle of chocolate milk. Jaehyun gives him a quick thank you, walking off to get his favorite maknae. As he approached the door, he heard the tell-tale sound of the Disney credits. Opening the door quietly, half-expecting to see you both choosing the next movie, but he wasn’t surprised when he saw you both asleep.
“Awwww.” He swooned, taking his phone out to take a picture, finding you both so cute. You were both snoring softly, the blanket covering the both of you. It was an adorable sight, and you’d wake up to see his hyungs in the fort with you, watching a movie. Some may say it’s annoying but in many ways, it was a perfect Valentine’s Day- spent with what you and Woonhak would call your second family.

“I’m home!”
“Oh, welcome home Y/n! How was school?” your mother asked as she carried some boxes toward the dining table.
“It was okay. The soccer team seems to be getting the hang of everything now.”
“Ehhh. Oh! Speaking of soccer, a letter for you came in today. It’s from the Japan Football Union.” She placed the boxes down before reaching toward the middle of the table and picking up an envelope.
“Huh? Japan Football Union? Why?” Confused, you quickly take off your shoes and speed walk towards the mail. Opening it, it reads,
L/N Y/N, YOU’VE BEEN SELECTED FOR A SPECIAL TRAINING PROGRAM
“Ehh?! Me? What for? I don’t even play soccer.” You said, puzzled. Surely this was a mistake?
“Well, you are part of a soccer team dear.” Your mom replied as she starts to unpack her boxes.
“Only as a manager. Well… I do help out with checking their physicals and making sure they’re in top form but I’m not actually playing!”
“Maybe that’s the reason why you’re invited.”
“Huh? What do you mean?” You asked, still confused.
Giving you an expression as if saying you are hopeless, your mom lets out a small laugh afterward. “Dear, you work in a clinic with your father and me. You basically grew up there. Always observing what we do and observing the patients themselves. You developed a keen eye for people’s physicality. Maybe they’re inviting you to help observe and keep the players in the program in top form.”
“…Oh. You think so? That does make sense.” You stated as you finally start to understand.
“Mhm. Well, are you going to go? I think you should. Actually, I don’t think you have a choice anyways.” She giggled before continuing, “I think this will be a perfect opportunity for you to learn more about the field and it’ll give you first-hand experience in dealing with athletes’ physicals. They’re the toughest patients to work on because they must keep up their health more than anyone.”
“But I don’t think I’m confident enough yet. I’m not at that level yet. What if my judgments are wrong?” You asked doubtfully.
“Trust your skills, honey. Besides, I don’t think they’ll have a child working there all by themself sweetheart. Another doctor will be there I’m sure. Learn from them and if you ever need any assistance, you can always call me and Dad.” Your mother reassured you. She unpacks the final box before walking towards you and bringing you into a hug.
“You’ll be fine. And who knows, you might even run into that soulmate of yours that’s been bothering you so much lately.”
“Mom!” Embarrassed for being called out on one of your worries lately, you try to push the matters away.
She’s not wrong. It has been bothering you lately. Everybody's soulmate's name always pops up on one of their body parts letter by letter the closer they get in proximity. All your friends have reached 3-4 letters into their soulmate’s name while you’re still stuck at your first letter, I. The first letter appears for everybody once they reach 14 and from there, it all depends on how close your soulmate is to you. The first letter for yours first appeared on your wrist on your 14th birthday. Having no letters appearing after the first just shows how far your soulmate is. Maybe they’re across the country? You thought that was the case many times before but your friends insisted it’s because you rarely go out unless it’s for school, soccer, and the clinic and it’s not like you don’t want to. It’s just that school, soccer, and the job at the clinic literally make up your whole schedule and time.
It seems silly to be getting so bothered over such trivial matters. It seems cliché but to you, it’s just a matter of curiosity. Your parents were bound soulmates and they found out when they worked together years ago then fell in love and got married. You don’t mind if you didn’t get that same fate for yourself but come on, who wouldn’t be curious about who their soulmate is? At least give another letter or two so one doesn't die from curiosity.
After a few more moments of recollecting your thoughts, you start to realize with a sense of hope that maybe your mom is onto something. The program will be huge with lots of people. Surely, a second letter has to pop up.
“That face is surely turning hopeful all of a sudden.” Your mother laughed once more then ruffled your hair. “You’re such an amusing kid. Okay, let’s get ready for dinner. Dad’s about to get home soon.”
The day of the meetup came and you made your way to the location the letter directed you to meet at with your suitcases on hand. Walking towards a building you believe is the correct address, the stone written sign in front proves you correct, The Japan Football Union.
“Ah, hello! You must be L/n Y/n!” A lady with shoulder length and light brown-reddish hair called out as soon as you stepped in front of the building. “My name is Anri Teieri. I’m a hire here at the Japan Football Union and an associate for the Blue Lock program.”
“Hello, nice to meet you!” You greeted the young woman with a bow. “The letter told me to meet here?”
“Yes, that is correct. Let me first explain the program to you. This is a program we have created by gathering 300 selected strikers and putting them through this program where only one can make it out to be the true striker that changes Japan’s soccer. I’m the one who selected you for the program. I believe this program can really use your skills for assistance.”
Taken aback by what she had just explained, you stood there for a few seconds trying to comprehend what she just told you. Only one can make it out? Then what happens to the rest? This sounds crazy. It’s like a gamble and everybody in this program is putting their career on the line.
Another moment or so passed as you let the idea sink into you before speaking up, not wanting to keep the woman in front of you waiting any longer, “… I see. But may I ask, how did you find…?” You tried to find the best way to ask the question. Though there’s no need since Anri caught on to what you were trying to ask.
“We looked through many soccer matches to select who should be in the program. In one of the matches I watched, I saw you assisting your team and co-directing along with your coach according to the players’ physicals which in turn, improved their plays afterward. I wanted to recruit you to help with Blue Lock.”
“Oh, I understand now. But I am still only a high schooler. There must also be an adult with solid education and certification for this program, right? I can’t be 100% sure on everything alone.” You expressed your concerns.
“Yes, of course. We have certified doctors here. I just think you have a special skill that could improve the players even more. The doctors are also there to guide you along the way.” Anri reassured you.
“Okay, that’s good. Then, I’ll do my best.” You bowed again and she gave a smile.
“Good! Follow me then. The letter did specify that you’ll now be living in the Blue Lock facility. We’ll have a car ready for you once the entrance “ceremonial” is over for the players.”
You began to follow her as she took you inside, passing a few rooms along the way. Walking by one, you got a glimpse of a room filled with what you believed were the selected players for the program.
“Woah.” You couldn’t help but feel so amazed at the sight you’re seeing. There were so many all gathered in one room. Anri then took you further away from the sight and into a room that looked like a waiting room.
“Just wait here for now. It won’t be long before the car is ready for you. I’ll be right back to help you depart.” Anri said and then left the room, leaving just you alone in there.
“Woah.” You repeated in your head again. This just feels so unreal and crazy to you. “I get to be a part of all this?” The events start to hit you again as you start getting nervous all of a sudden. “It’s okay. This is an opportunity for me. To hone my skills like Mom said. I’ll be okay.” You mumbled to yourself in an attempt to relax. You then settled on fiddling with your sleeves around your wrist as a distraction. It was then and there that something had caught your attention. Doing a double take on your wrist, you hurriedly pulled down your sleeve, revealing your wrist and there it was. You couldn’t believe your eyes. The second letter to your soulmate’s name had appeared. It was a S.
After Anri had helped you pack your stuff into the car, you were all set for the trip to the facility. She told you a while back that the players and staff are to take separate transportation. The staff was to arrive first and help set everything up a few days before the players arrives. So here you are, currently standing right in front of the Blue Lock building. It was a lot bigger than you had anticipated. You can’t even imagine the amount of money that they actually put into this whole thing.
“We’ll unload everybody’s stuff and then I’ll show you into your room,” Anri stated before heading off to help the other staff members unload their suitcases first. You got off and began to unload yours, however, you might have underestimated how heavy all your things really are as you struggled a bit to drag the suitcase out. Pulling with all your might and then stopping to take a break. You were about to resume the pulling until a hand reached out from beside you and grabbed your suitcase, pulling it out and lifting it up like it was nothing. He set the suitcase down for you.
“Here.”
“Oh, thank you so much!” You turned around to give thanks and bow. In front of you is a very slender man, dressed in all black. He wore glasses with black frames and had a bowl haircut. The tall man looked like he hadn't gotten any sleep in days and was a little unhinged.
“Woah, that haircut.” You thought before realizing how rude that was and shook your head to get rid of that thought. He continued to help unload your remaining things before setting off toward Anri. It was a little shocking seeing how easily he unloaded those stuff with such a slim build.
After everything was finally unloaded, Anri showed you to your room. The room was surprisingly a lot bigger than you thought. It was cleaned and neat down to the floor. It also had a personal bathroom and a whole TV. “Wow.” Was all you could think of once you laid eyes in that room.
Lunch was set out for everyone after they were settled. It didn’t take you long before you realized that you were the only student there, making you extremely awkward and out of place.
“You must be L/n Y/n. Your parents told me you’ll be here.” A man called out, breaking your little bubble.
“Hello, nice to meet you. You know my parents?” You stood up to greet the man.
“Yes, we used to work together. Told me to look after you and help guide you during this period at the program.”
“I am pleased to make your acquaintance. I’ll do my best.”
The two of you then chatted a bit about trivial matters until Anri approaches you and gives you a piece of paper. It’s the schedule for the day the players arrive.
“They’ll be arriving the day after tomorrow. You’ll help me that morning to settle them down once they arrive.”
“Yes ma’am!”
The day Blue Lock officially starts has now arrived. The players are scheduled to come in about an hour. You’re standing in position just like Anri had instructed you to. Once they arrive, you are to collect all their belongings and organize them accordingly. “Take all their belongings from bags to wallets, to their phones too.” Was what she said. You couldn’t help but think why couldn’t they just tell the players to leave behind their belongings instead but that was the least of your concern. What really has been on your mind ever since last night was the new letter that had popped up on your wrist two days ago. It happened when you entered the Japan Football Union building so that must mean your soulmate is one of the players. That also means the next letter will show up today once the players arrive. Waiting anxiously now the more you start to think about it, your body also starts to suddenly feel restless too so you begin pacing around your area for some time until the sound of buses pulling up could finally be heard.
“Everyone, if you could please get in a line and one by one come up to me when I call out your name and hand me your belongings that includes your phones. Once you hand them in, you’ll be able to enter the building and then be handed your uniform. The uniform will have a number and letter. Please head to the room corresponding to the letter on your uniform. Thank you!” You explained to the crowd in front of you.
Immediately complaints were made. Complaints ranging from why do they have to give up their phones to what kind of place takes people’s belongings, etc. Still, they all obliged and one by one gave you their stuff. As you collected each player’s belongings, you also kept an eye on your wrist and the roster you were given. Looking at your wrist, making sure when a new letter will show up, and looking through the roster trying to find an IS at the beginning of each name. To your satisfaction, a new letter did show up as you were calling up the next player. A loud screeching squeal came out of your throat out of excitement which in turn, startled the boy currently in front of you as he gave you a weird look.
“So sorry!” You apologized quickly after giving one more glance towards the letter then collected his things.
The new letter was an A. You grabbed the roster and looked through the list for an ISA but you were left with disappointment when none appeared. “Is he on the roster Anri has then?” You thought to yourself. It had to be the case if he wasn’t on yours, and the marks on your wrist are showing that he is close by. You decided that you’ll just ask for her list later.
After finally finishing the last player on your list, you slumped down on the nearest chair to catch yourself a break. It was only a partial amount of the 300, and you already felt exhausted. “How in the world will Ego even handle the whole 300?” You said aloud to yourself. Then, interrupting your thoughts shortly after was Anri approaching you, offering if you wanted to come watch the first selection with her and Ego, the coach leading this Blue Lock program and the one that helped you with your luggage when you first arrived.
“Huh? Already? They just got here.” You replied, surprised.
“The sooner the better. No time for leisurely here at Blue Lock, Y/n.”
“Uh- yes, ma’am.” You got up and started following her as she led the way to what you believe will be the observation room. Along the way, you asked her if you could see the list of names she had.
“Sure. Here it is. What do you need it for by the way?”
“Oh. Uh…” You debated on the thought of telling her the truth until you decided it’s probably best to just tell her so you don’t end up looking like some peeping Tom, stalking the players later. With a sigh, you roll up your sleeve, revealing the soulmate mark you have.
“Oh! So is that what it is?” She cracks a smile and laughs. This made you feel embarrassed as you cover your sleeve back down and try to hide your face behind your hands.
“I know it’s silly! But the letters started appearing after that day at the Japan Football Union meetup.” You told her, face still buried in your hands.
“Haha! It’s fine! Nothing to be embarrassed about. I have mine too, on the right side of my shoulder. Though, I actually never cared for it.”
“You never get curious about who it is?”
“At times, but I think I’m just too busy dealing with soccer matters most of the time to really care.” She then continued, “Hmm let me see, yours says ISA huh?” The short hair woman contemplated about it for a second before beaming once the realization hit her.
“Ah! Isagi Yoichi! His name starts with ISA.”
You looked through her roster and sure enough, the name Isagi Yoichi is there. Could that really be him?
“We’re going to observe the players with Ego. You’ll get the chance to see him. Once he shows up, I’ll point him out to you.”
The observation room was dark as ever once you arrived, with millions of screens on display. There in the middle of the biggest screen in the room, sat Ego Jinpachi.
“Are they starting yet?” Anri asked.
“Not yet. Give it another 5 minutes. They're still changing.”
“Okay, have you met y/n yet? This is them. Y/n, I’m sure you know who he is already.”
“Yes, he helped me with my luggage the other day. Thank you again for that.” You bow to him but he gives no response in return as he starts getting busy setting up for the first test.
“Don’t worry about him. He can be a bit-” Anri tried reassuring before Ego quickly interrupted.
“Oi stupid, I can hear you.”
Anri’s expression twisted to that of annoyance like her forehead vein was about to pop out, and you had to hold in a snort at how funny this scene in front of you was.
“Then be nice! They’ll be a critical role in this program!” The woman yelled even though it was going through one ear and out the other for Ego because he gave no replies to that either. You can hear her grumble even more at that nonexistent response.
“We’re beginning,” Ego stated and pressed a button which caused the entire room to be lit with cameras displaying the players in different rooms. He pulls up Team Z’s camera first and begins, “Are you done changing, you lumps of talent?”
And so the first entrance test begins. After greeting the players of Team Z and explaining to them about the first test, they all start playing a game of tag with soccer. You’re watching from the side alongside Anri as the test is about to start. A ball from the ceiling drops down and lands right in front of a boy with dark blue-blackish hair that has a V-shape fringe.
Anri immediately went to tap you on the shoulder. “That’s him. Isagi Yoichi.” She whispered.
Your eyes widened and your body stood still for a second. Is that actually him? “I went from having no new markings show up for years to actually seeing what he looks like with my own two eyes.” You thought to yourself. Your soulmate is quite literally in the same facility as you right now. You suddenly felt your face heating up while you were deep in your thoughts, and Anri looked over to check on you before letting out a giggle at the sight she was seeing.
“Your face’s freezing up! Are you blushing?”
“What? No-!” You tried to deny it really quickly.
This causes Ego to turn his attention towards you two when he heard the commotion and you immediately turned your whole body away from both of them at the speed of light.
“Please focus on the game! I’m not blushing!”
Anri was full-on belly laughing at this point until a glare from Ego made her stop. Digging an imaginary hole in your mind right now, you just want to jump it in and call it a day. You’re aware of how hot your face is feeling right now and why that was. It’s because he’s cute. Isagi Yoichi is so cute and it’s making you feel so flustered.
A few moments passed and you were still facing away from the other two in the room. You were trying to recollect yourself as best as you could so you can focus on the task at hand, observing the players. You were still in the midst of it until Anri basically slap your back causing you to whiplash around to see what was happening. She pointed towards the screen and you turned your gaze there to see that Isagi was now “it”.
“He took a pretty hard hit from Kunigami just now, the boy with orange hair.” She explained.
“Ouch.” You wince at the scene you're seeing. Isagi is crouching down from the pain and panting as he gets back up. He starts dribbling the ball and kicks it towards a group of people but they all were able to dodge it. So, he turns to the bald player that’s ranked under him and chases after him with the ball. He was beginning to struggle since the time was closing in. At that moment, you see one of the other players jump onto the boy Anri mentioned earlier, Kunigami. He’s laughing as he’s holding Kunigami and calls out to Isagi. Annoyed, Kunigami took hold of the boy and threw him, prompting him to land on the bald boy earlier. He was able to quickly recover and run away while the bald boy was still frozen up in a sitting position. You see him beginning to beg now in front of Isagi. This was getting intense and you were starting to sweat just from watching. You didn’t want Isagi to be eliminated here. You continue watching, silently telling him in your mind to shoot the ball. He sets the ball in position and is getting ready to kick when he suddenly stops. Your inner thoughts started yelling at him, confused about why he stopped but your thoughts were cut short when he started dashing the other way with the ball.
“What is he trying to do?” You thought.
That’s when the boy from earlier who held Kunigami went up to Isagi and declared, “I like you! You get it!” He took the ball from Isagi making him the tagger now. With only 11 seconds left, he dashes through a group of people and aims the ball toward the silver-haired boy.
“Kira-kun?!” Isagi called out.
He successfully dodges it and the time is now down to 7 seconds. The tagger jumped over him towards the ball and now it’s down to 5 seconds. At that very moment, the ball was kicked across the room, straight to Isagi again.
“Isagi, no!” You screamed in your mind. Your fists were clenching, and your teeth were biting at your lower bottom lip, hard. However, your anxiousness comes to a halt as you watch the expression on Isagi’s face. It was only an instant but he looked… mad. Not angry mad, but crazy mad. 2 seconds left, and he kicks the ball straight at the silver-haired boy, Kira, knocking him down. The timer goes off right there. He looks shocked at what he just did himself. That’s when Ego enters again, ending the first test.
You made your way back to your room, and as soon as you entered, you dropped on all fours on the floor. “That was so nerve-racking.” You cried out. Is this really what you have to go through every single day now? “And I’m not even the one playing, I can’t even imagine how the players feel.” But during those last seconds, Isagi was really different. It was like he was a whole new person. He’s… really cool. You ponder on those last 10 seconds again as you get up to change. Today was a long day, a rest was definitely needed. You started taking off your blouse first and went to throw it in the laundry bin. That’s when you noticed it again. The fourth letter to your soulmate’s name, G. “I must’ve been so focused earlier that I didn’t even notice it. ISAG, huh? Yea, that’s definitely Isagi Yoichi.”
The next day arrived, and you were making your way to the training room. Today’s schedule is just training for the players. For you, it’s to assist and give tips for their conditions. You finally were able to meet the players more personally. Starting from the top team, Team B, and downwards. Anri has been with you the whole day introducing all the teams to you and walking you through it all. Right now, you are currently making your way toward the Team Z training room.
“Eager?” She asked and you felt your face turning hot again.
“Stop! I’m just doing my job!”
“Haha! Don’t freeze up once you see him now.”
“I’m not…”
“Oh, here we are.”
She opens the door and all heads inside immediately turn towards your direction. They all stop their training and gather around the two of you. You made brief eye contact with Isagi before quickly looking away. You felt your face heating up and hoped it was not noticeable. He is so much cuter in person, and here he was, standing right before you.
“Everyone, this is L/n Y/n. They’ll be assisting you all on your physicals and health so if you have any concerns, do come and ask. They’ll be observing your training today.”
You were looking everywhere and at everyone except Isagi but in the corner of your eyes, you can still see how his eyes widened at you. You know that he knows now and he knows that you know. The both of you are now awkwardly standing there, one still shocked and one can’t bring to make eye contact for their life.
“Okay! We don’t want to hold you back from training any longer, off you go. Don’t mind us! Again, if you have any questions, please do approach Y/n.” Anri declared and sent them off to return to their tasks.
Everyone resumes their training. You and Anri watch from the sideline.
“This is your chance, you know.” She said.
“I know. But I’m kind of nervous..” You replied.
You glance at Isagi and see that he too was stealing glances at you. You took this chance to check your wrist again and his full name was now written out, Isagi Yoichi. It really is him and he’s standing right in front of you. You’re still nervous but you can’t let this opportunity pass by. Someone has to make the first move so you made up your mind and finally march your way towards him. He sees this and his expression turns to that of shock before quickly changing it to a small smile as he walks up to you too.
“Hi, I was already introduced but still, I’m L/n Y/n. I take that you know who I am as much as I know who you are.” You said and pull up the sleeve that was hiding his name then extended out your hand for him to shake.
He looks down at your hand and took notice of his name marking on your wrist. His face turns red at the sight of it but he still manages to return your offering handshake. His hand was surprisingly soft. It was warm and felt oddly comforting. This feeling made you giddy and you couldn’t help but break out a smile so big out of happiness. His eyes widen at this sight and the tips of his ears start going red too until he breaks out a big smile himself.
“I’m Isagi Yoichi. Sorry, my hand feels really sweaty. I was training… It’s nice to finally meet you.” He said then roll up his uniform sleeve and there reveals your name on the same spot you had his name on. He gave a bashful smile and then rolls it back down.
“I didn’t expect I’ll meet you here of all places.” He said.
“Same, your name never dared to show up so I thought you were across the country or something! I was dying from curiosity.”
“Haha, I gave up after a whole year of no lead but then it suddenly started appearing after I came back from the Japan Football Union the other day.”
“Yea, me too… I’m glad we’re finally able to meet.” You said.
“Same here.” He smiled at that.
“Oh… you were really cool the other day with your last kick.” You blush as you tell him that which made him blush hearing it.
“T-thank you! I don’t know what that was. I’m still trying to figure everything out.”
“Hmm. I see a lot of potential in you, Isagi. I’ll be rooting for you.”
“Really?”
“Of course, but your potential is something you have to work on and figure out. I know you will… Yea! That’s that! I don’t want to keep you from training any longer, please do resume. I’m here if you ever need anything.”
At this, He stares at you. Then his face turns motivated and determined. Giving you a firm nod of acknowledgment, he turns his back and resumes his training. You return to your spot on the sideline and it was then that you realized everyone in the room was staring at the two of you this whole time. Anri gave you a teasing proud smile.
“Please stop staring and resume your training!” You shouted, embarrassed.
From then on, you two continued your tasks at Blue Lock as usual. Small conversations were exchanged every time you passed each other. Those small convos soon turned into deeper conversations when meeting up after his matches. You became close with the others around him, Bachira, Kunigami, Chigiri, Nagi, etc. When they found out about you and Isagi being soulmates, they teased you both till no end and Isagi without fail, turned red every time. You helped him out when he needed it and improved his playstyles whenever he hit a slump. He supported you as you continued your studies at Blue Lock. You shared stories about each other. You first-handedly witnessed his growth in his personal skills and on the field. The way he completely becomes a different person at the heat of a game was wild to you but that didn’t change the fact that he looked cooler than ever during those moments. By the time the U-20 came about, the two of you were closer than ever.
“The U-20 match is about to start.” He stated and got up, making his way out into the field.
“Isagi.” You called out.
He turns around at the call of his name, “Y/n?”
“Good luck!” You cheered.
A smile appears on his face and he raises up his fist at you,  “I’ll win this!”

He should have kissed her one last time.
He shouldn’t have accepted her kiss and let it be. He should have scooped her off her feet, kissed her like he never would again, kissed her like she’d forget him otherwise, kissed her like the world depended on it. Now it’s too late. Now he’ll never kiss her again.
Malon will be at home with the girls, maybe their eldest will be visiting, maybe she’ll be off with her husband instead. They’ll be waiting for him, excited for him to come back again, bearing treasures for his best girls as he does every time Queen Zelda calls for his help. He had them too, had picked out a hairpin for Navi, a new knife for Sari, and the rattle he’d found to give his eldest and her husband. He knows full well that they didn’t want to tell him yet, were waiting until his final mission was over before sharing the happy news. Malon knows, his girls know, but they’d wanted to give him a happy surprise when he came back.
Now, there will never come a time where he will meet Melony’s little one. Would that child be one of his pup’s parents one day? A grandparent? Would it be another of his girls that would bring about the sharp young warriors he’d grown so fond of in his last adventure? Link isn’t sure. He’ll never know now though.
No, standing over his own lifeless body, he’s struck with the truth that he will never hold his grandchild in his arms or watch his pup come into this life. What if the child who’s still growing within his eldest will in fact be the boy he’d seen as a son? His pup just waiting to come into this world? He’ll not know the mentor he’ll come to see as a father until he’s nearly in his twenties, and then he’ll only get to know a version of him that is from long before himself.
It had hurt, having to say goodbye, but never getting to say hello somehow hurts just as bad, if not more.
He’s run a hundred missions. He's helped fend off monsters and threats so many times. He’s fought the Gerudo and uprisings of other races. He’s aided her highness wherever he was asked, whenever he was asked. Like Legend had once said: once a hero, they're always heroes. There’s no turning down adventure, no matter how long or short it is they’ve had to rest. It’s in their nature to chase the stars, to let wild souls run free, chasing the thrill of the battle, the challenge of a good puzzle, the safety of their people. He’d accepted this mission like each one before, the same warning to the queen on his lips. “This is the last time, Zelda, never again.” And she’d just nodded and smiled in a knowing way.
He’d really meant it this time though. Becoming a father was one thing, but now with his daughters grown, the presence of a new little life drives even further home the truth of his age, of the years, of the fact that he’s no longer a young man, and one day he’s not going to be fast enough. He’d decided it was time to retire, to turn in his armor when he got home and hang up his sword over the mantle as nothing more than a last resort in times of a trouble and a trophy of thousands of stories to share with the new little life about to come into the world.
He was planning to go home. Planning to retire at long last.
  Now he never will.
He'd seen the blow coming. Been injured enough to know he couldn’t stop it. Still, like Warriors used to say, he’s never known when to quit. The ocarina had been on his lips, a familiar and well played tune already taking effect even as he’d felt the plunge of the blade.
He doesn’t know if he’d broken it, if the sword fell at the wrong time or if the magic had just twisted up with it all, but he’s watched himself die three time now.
Three times, he’s caught the ocarina when he’d thought there was no chance, and yet every time, just as the final note plays, an enemy blow finds him, lies him low, steals his final breath as it wheezes that last note to send him back again. Again into battle, again into war, again into the sands of the desert with a desperate hope in his heart that he could make it back this time.
Melony has a child he needs to welcome into the world. Navi and her beau have been courting for months and he’s only just waiting for the lad to come and ask to speak with him now. He’d promised Sari that he’d teach her the ways of the sword when he returned, help her fulfill her dream of becoming a knight. He needs to go home to them. He needs to hold his grandson. He needs to walk his youngest down the aisle. He needs to see his fiercest daughter receive the honor she’s been chasing since childhood.
Yet each time he thinks he’s going to have the time, each time he’s sent back, back to when his lungs still heave with breath and his heart still pounds in his chest, the blade finds him before his tune is finished.
  He still tries.
He tries playing it the moment he’s back, but an arrow ends it.
He tries lifting his shield before him, crouching low behind the pile of fallen soldiers, but an enemy always creeps upon him, or a monster appears out of the sands.
He’s a hero and a fighter not able to go down like a coward, so of course he tries to fight instead, to not even touch the ocarina, to ward off blows and keep his whole focus on the field, on the enemy, on the blows headed for him, but that simply lands him here again, standing over his own corpse and overcome again with the weight of his failure.
He needs to go home. He promised Malon. He told her he’d come back within a fortnight. He promised her it was the last time. He should have kissed her, told her he loved her enough times to make up for all the years he’s now going to miss. He should have visited Melony and her husband. He should have told her he knew, hugged her, told her child at least once, even if they couldn’t hear, how much he already loved them.
  Now he never can.
He’s a hero, he’s like Wild, he won’t lay down and die. He picks up the ocarina again and plays, plays until he’s breathing again and on the field.
  He only falls again.
  He’s never going home.
He fights on anyway; he can’t give up. It's all he’s got now. Surely, eventually, he can win. Surely, he can change it. In his heart, he knows it’s no good, but he can’t accept defeat, can’t accept death.
He has to try again, one more time.

lostdrarryfics monthly roundup! March 2024
Below you will find the requests we could not locate in the month of March. Please let us know if you recognize any!
You can also browse our lengthy lost fic masterlist, where we have compiled every request we have been unable to find over the past few years. We're always hoping someone will recognize a fic so we can let the asker know what it was!
1. I read this at least 5 years ago. I think it was on ao3, eighth year, where Harry gets turned into a kid (around 7years maybe? Definitely under 10) and McG makes Draco take care of him. Harry has big scars on his back from the Dursleys and they cause him to have seizures (? Or something like spasms maybe that are painful) fic is not The Dragon and The Golden Baby by jolly_love, or Baby Mama Drama by Stars-and-Stones
2. multi chapter post war fic I read a while ago on Ao3. I remember that Draco had to get married? but definitely live with Harry in Grimmauld Place in order to avoid Azkaban. I remember one scene where Harry takes Draco to the burrow for Sunday brunch with the Weasleys plus Teddy and Andromeda. I think Harry was talking to someone else and Ron pulls Draco aside and starts threatening him about doing anything suspicious he’ll beat him up and send him straight back to Azkaban. (Something along those lines) This triggers Draco because he was also being abused during the war and caused him to have a panic attack bc it reminded him of the past. Harry meanwhile finally notices Draco is missing and finds him hyperventilating with Ron. He tries to calm him down but Draco faints. He takes him upstairs to rest in a bed and tells everyone that he appreciates their worries but if they do that again they’ll have to face his wrath (something along those lines) and that when Draco wakes up they should be kinder towards him. Another scene is (80% sure/20% I’m mixing this detail up with another fic) teddy seems to really like Draco and is always happy with him or crawling towards him. There’s a scene where teddy is crying and Draco is looking for someone to help Teddy, but no one is near them, so he does it himself and Teddy immediately calms down with him. After that scene, there’s short snippets of Draco playing or putting his attention towards Teddy, while Harry watches them from afar and it makes him happy they get along.
3. not sure if it's on ffnet or ao3, but basically harry is heir of ravenclaw, hedwig starts teaching The Ways Of the Dark and he joins voldy because he's in love with Draco. i believe it was set in 6th year, because the bathroom scene still happens, but harry does it on purpose to not give away his disloyalty to voldy. (spoilers: harry goes full to the dark side but only because of draco. he has no loyalty to voldy beyond what he can learn and what he has to do because, again, draco. he is very much dark tho, people try to bring him down). it's fast paced from what i recall.
4. dark fanfic, not explicit or anything such as sex (that I remember) I believe it was drarry, so I remember it was a dark fanfic one of the darkest ones I had read, it included some death eaters cutting out a little muggle girls heart (I remember this because I cried about it.)because her blood wasn't pure and they tortured others, I read it on fanfiction.net I believe, basically they decided to kidnap muggles and torture them for fun because they didn't view them as clean blooded individuals. Harry or Draco I can't remember watched this happen.
5. dark one on AO3: I believe Voldemort had won the war and the golden trio and others had decided to hide children in camps,They hid muggle born and halfblood children in a camp where it was discovered after a death eater raid that all the children in that camp were found and killed, Draco was not trusted at first but over time harry and everyone else trusted Draco and Drarry happened during the story and was the main shi, I also want to say tried to save a child screaming for help during another raid but the child was killed before he could but that could be a different fanfic and I don't know if it was part of the fanfic or not (I just remember it right now thinking about that scene it sounds like hell on and I think Ginny was dead in this sadly, and Draco was a spy for Harry and the others for some reason reason because I remember him being morally grey, however I have no idea if these are two different fanfics
6. dark drarry fanfic, anyway I don't remember much only that they were at the yule ball in fourth year and Harry was on good terms with the Malfoys I believe, Anyway I remember them talking about Draco's grandfather being apart the original death eaters (The Knights of Walpurgis I believe) and this was either in front of the other Slytherin's and I believe Lucius was there (maybe Narcissa also) or maybe Draco was the one who mentioned it but for some reason I remember Lucius being there, I'm really sure it wasn't Lucius x Harry (Lucius was more of a parental figure I believe).
7. dark fanfic on AO3: I believe Voldemort had won the war and the golden trio and others had decided to hide children in camps, the death eaters Drarry happened during the story and was the main ship. Voldemort won the war. The golden trio + others where hiding children that weren't pure bloods (such as muggleborn and halfblood children). All children in one in one of the camps were found and killed by death eaters during a death eater raid this was later found out during a protest against Voldemort. Later on in the story a child was exploded/killed in front of Harry and he couldn't do anything. A medical place was bombed where they had taken survivors of the raid and Harry didn't know if Hermione had survived. Draco was a spy for the order or whatever organization headed by Harry for some reason. I think children were enslaved by death eaters if they weren't pure bloods and were treated badly. Draco was morally grey in this or he had made bad moral choices
FOUND! 8. For Draco to be inciated into the death eaters he has to kill a little boy. The boy asks Draco to kill him for some reason I think so Draco will live. The golden trio or Harry don't like Draco. Harry gets mad at Draco later on for killing the boy. The boys body was burned. Draco is taunted by the boy's death and feels guilty for killing him. The boy's name is mentioned but I don't remember it
9. I’m pretty sure I read it on ao3 and Charlie brings a girl to the burrow for either Christmas or some other celebration and they observe Harry and Draco and how the Wesley’s ignore draco? And she thinks they don’t accept the gay relationship. I think Charlie is also gay if I remember correctly and asked her to come to help him come out? Pretty sure at some point draco and Harry tell their love story and all the weasleys have never heard it cause they never wanted to ask.
10. it was set during the war and I think Draco was either hunting for horcuxes with the trio, or staying with the order/spying. The 4 of them end up staying at the Dursley’s while the family are away and Hermione sews fish into the curtains (and possibly the furniture too?) as a way to get revenge on the Dursley’s for the way they treated Harry. Harry and Draco were definitely together, but this is the only scene I can remember
11. Draco and Harry are elemental mages. Draco is an ice mage and Harry a fire mage, and they are linked or something like that. They are childhood friends, I believe, and Remus and Sirius are involved. It is set at hogwarts, for sure, so not the fantasy au that comes up in searches. It was a wip on ao3 when I read it and the last chapter I remember involved Draco venting his powers in the shrieking shack and Remus being concerned about him, as they have been negatively affecting his mood/temperament as they develop.
12. top Draco/ bottom Harry. Harry wears panties and Draco finds out. No established relationship other than Auror and healer. I read it on A03 2 months ago. It’s one chapter long. I’m pretty sure Harry gets hurt and they have to take his pants off to address it and that’s when Draco, his healer, sees them. It’s a short fic and that’s basically all that happens I think
13. 8th year centered. post war. it's from draco's pov. harry and draco always meet at the astronomy tower. harry keeps inviting draco to do things together but draco always refuses. harry thinks that he and draco are dating but they aren't. there's this scene that harry and draco are at the astronomy tower and harry invites draco to hogsmade. Draco refuses because the thinks it won't be a good idea to people see them both together. Harry says it's no problem but that he really wants to be able to tell Hermione and Ron about them. Draco asks what he's taking about and Harry tells him it's about their relationship. Draco goes like: WHAT??!! and asks Harry since when they are dating.Harry says since when he thinks they are dating and i think Draco comments about how they never even kissed. Harry says something about how he thought Draco wasn't ready yet and realizes that only he thought that both of them were in a relationship. He goes to apologize but then I think Draco kisses him or something. There might be a part where Harry teaches Draco how to cast the patronus but maybe i'm mixing two fics up. i read it on Ao3 and that is chaptered and longer than 20,000 words
14. Harry has a twin, and they were separated at birth. I don't remember if it was a no magic au, sorry. Anyway, Harry's twin was raised by Sirius (lily and James are still dead) and Harry by Bellatrix. They meet for the first time in summer camp for troubled youth, and shenanigans ensue because they're identical. I know one of the twins ends up with Draco, and the other one with Fred. It was incomplete, I think.
15. it was a professors fanfic where draco and harry worked together at hogwarts and i remember they didnt like each other, and i also very much remember that draco lived under some sort of aquarium under the great lake inside the common room. this seems really odd, because im sure my memory is wrong but i remember reading specifically that it was underwater and that it was located somewhere in the common room of slytherin.
16. I don't remember much of it but what really does stand out to me it's that I'm pretty sure it was already complete 'cause I remember it having a proposal in the end of it and pretty sure it was on Yule and I remember that there was I think at least Molly bashing? Anyways, it had something to do with Molly stealing from Harry and Arthur only finding out about it much later and actually being invited to the Yule celebration! And pretty sure one of the background pairings was Sirius/Charlie. It wasn't Lily's Boy, I'm sure of it! And I'm pretty sure it was Sirius/Charlie 'cause I remember it having a scene in a forest, where Dumbledore took Sirius and Charlie and that's where their relationship began. I think they were hunting Horcruxes? Or doing something like that.

~AGED UP Neteyam x Avatar reader
~Angst, fluff
~Proofread?-no
~Summary-okay this might be long, but the reader is very into science. She dreams of being become a scientist, but her dreams are quickly denounced when her mother wants her to marry. In a pit of rage, she runs off and ends up somewhere new.
~Note-I’m SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SORRY! My real life has been catching up to me, and I have finals coming up! Outcast should be posted by Sunday since I’ll be unable to write any other day :( but until I can write I’ll be posting drafts.
***
Tumblr media
For as long as you can remember, you’ve always been connected to the forest. Your mother says if at any point she cannot find you, she knows you were somewhere in the forest.
It was like your scared place, nobody could mess with you there. You blame this connection on your father, he was a scientist, and when you were one year old, he surrounded you with his work. You don't remember everything, obviously, but you remember people.
A woman, she was nice but spent much time in her studies. And a man in a wheelchair, he was fun he always played with you. Although he always seemed to be going somewhere else.
Your father rarely let you out of his grasp, but when he did you explored everything in the forest. Your mind and body were one and you could truly be free, but at some point, we all have to grow up.
You can't remember much else about your father, but he died trying to protect you. Your mother never talks about it, and you don't bring it up. But you still feel connected to your father, like you know he is watching over you.
It's the main reason you wanted to become a scientist, to finish what he began. Your mother was very against this, she said it was far too dangerous and you should stick with a job like a teacher. You never listened to her, your mind was set on being a scientist.
“Come on, [Y/n] we can't keep them waiting!” your mother knocked on your door again. You sighed as you looked at yourself in the mirror, you wore a dress you’d never choose and had your hair in a style that didn't suit your face.
“Mother, why are you doing this again?” you opened the door and your mother quickly dragged you down the stairs. “It is always nice to meet with the Smiths! They invited us so we will go,” you got in the car and sighed. You were meant to be researching more into your father's study.
He wrote of a place far from here, one that took six years to get to but somehow only took him a few seconds. The rest of the work is torn up as if someone hadn't wanted anyone to know the rest.
You studied his work every day since you found it. You wish you got to meet the man everybody spoke of, but you sadly don't carry many memories with the man.
“Please do not talk anyone's ears off with nonsense talking,” you weren't even paying attention to a word coming from her mouth. Your eyes raced with the trees, “the smiths have a lovely back garden, maybe if you behave they’ll let you in it,” you lit up at the idea, “okay!”
When you both pulled up, you noticed how everyone dressed nicely, “what are we celebrating here?” your mother checked your outfit once more, “we don't need to celebrate something to dress nicely, [Y/n],” you sighed and walked inside.
Everyone waved at you, which was weird since they never spoke with you. You sat on the couch, closest to the sliding door. “Penny for your thought?” you turned and noticed, James, the oldest Smith child, “just thinking.”
He smiled sitting down next to you, “you're rather an odd one,” you gave him a face, “i’m not odd, I just do things differently.” He laughed, “there is nothing interesting in the garden, yet your eyes cling to it,” you looked at him.
“I was just imaging what it be like to live in the woods,” it was his turn to make a face, “probably terrible, such thoughts are better left in the mind.”
You looked away, you weren't in the mood to cause trouble so you chose to be nice, “I guess.”
He stood up quickly clearing his throat. “Meet me in the garden, I have a little surprise waiting for you,” you nodded before walking off. You would rather be anywhere but here, you rather be studying, playing in the forest, or just staring at a wall.
You thought you became a little dumber every time you hung out with your mother's “friends.” They were no fun at all, and their children were annoying to be around.
“You should head to the garden,” a little boy came up to you, “don't listen to him, he has nothing important to say,” a girl his same age came talking next. “At least people listen when I speak,” the boy hit the girl causing a mini fight.
“Let go of me, penis face!” the girl yelled causing a laugh to fall from your lips, “how about we head there together,” they stopped and you three headed in the back.
It was breathtaking, you couldn't help but walk a little faster then the two children. “Gorgeous,” you whispered under your breath.
You let the sun kiss your face, you let the wind pick your hair, and you listened to the songs of the birds. You sat down on the grass, till a voice could be heard, “there you are we’ve been looking for you,” James looked at you funny while you stood up.
He led you to the gazebo under a big oak tree, “stay here,” everyone seemed to pour in as he turned around. Your mother smiled big at you, “smile,” she mouthed at you. You smiled at her request confused as to why everyone was watching, James fell to one knee and grabbed your hands, “[Y/n] [L/n], will you be my wife?”
So, this is what everything is about? The reason everyone is all dressed up and watching you? To see you become engaged? You took your hands back, flashing an awkward smile, “where is this coming from?” James laughed, “this has been in the plans for months,” you couldn't believe your mother would do this to you.
You touched your forehead, “I need a moment.” You ran in the opposite direction, they were the last people you wanted to see.
How could your mother throw something like this on you? She didn't even ask if you wanted to marry, and she knew you were planning on being a scientist. That's when it hit you, she wanted to marry you off so wouldn't end up like your father.
You walked deeper, letting mad mumbles leave your mouth, “I decide who I marry, and it will certainly not be that boy!” As you walked, your dress became stuck on a branch, “and this excuse of a dress,” you tugged hard on the dress.
“I’ll be dammed if i’m forced to marry that man, I’ll run away!” anger engulfed your body. You tugged harder the dress finally letting loose, but not without a rip. “[Y/n]!” you heard your name and began running. You didn't know where you were headed but getting caught was the last thing you needed.
As you ran you kept turning around trying to see who was behind you, but you saw nothing. You were running so fast, you hadn't noticed the big tree in front of you.
You collided with it, blacking out at impact. The voice that called for you stopped, and the footsteps stopped it became very peaceful.
Tumblr media
Jake watched as his children played. He never dreamed of having children, his mind was moving too fast for that. Until he met you, barely even a baby a fresh toddler with so much energy.
Everyone was a bit weary of him at first, they wanted his brother. The one who trained his whole life to see this planet, yet they ended up stuck with Jake.
But you wanted to play with him the moment you met him. You played with him, made him laugh, and always treated him with kindness. It was like you didn't even realize he was in a wheelchair, you just wanted a friend.
That's the good thing about children, they always see the good in you before judging.
Grace played with you sometimes, although she was more busy working you could tell she held a soft spot for you.
You were a human child, he wondered how you even got there. Your father was the smartest man alive, he figured out a way to travel from earth to Pandora in six minutes.
Your father was absolutely smitten with you. Showing you what he was working on, always finding something to keep you busy. He loved you even in his last moments, he loved you.
Jake regrets letting you go back to earth, it was selfish of him but he just had a feeling this is where you belong. Especially after knowing you can breathe pandora air without a mask.
It was actually the first time you met Neytiri, your father had been distracted for a few seconds, and you wandered off.
Now any other human would immediately start gasping for air, but you were different it didn't affect you at all. You were perfectly fine and played with flowers, till you heard Jake and Neytiri laughing.
They had been sitting by the river, letting the sun hit them when you walked over. You giggled loudly running right into Jake’s arms.
“Jake!” you grabbed hold of his ears playing with them. “I thought humans couldn't breathe without those masks,” Neytiri looked at you weirdly. She hated humans and couldn't believe the fact she was looking at one so small.
“Let's go back to daddy, [Y/n],” he grabbed you and walked you towards your father's study. “Stay right here,” he couldn't open the front door and left you there as he tried to find an alternative.
Your eyes landed back on the other lady, and your legs carried you back to where she was. She was watching the river as it sang a song you giggled a little walking slowly, “hello.”
The woman turned and looked at you funny, “where is Jake? How’d you get here?” you laughed as you didn't understand what she had said.
She stood up and started motioning for you to leave, “go away! Go back to Jake, human child,” you smiled and grabbed her hand hugging it, “[Y/n]!” you said your name.
“And i’m Neytiri,” she felt her heart soften as you laughed, “up, up!” you started jumping for her to pick you up. She pretended to not care, but she still picked you up.
Your hands immediately touched her ears, she watched as your eyes lit up, and your fingers then traced her freckles and you let out a happy laugh, “pretty!”
“[Y/n]!” Jake ran back for you, he stopped as he watched the scene. Neytiri became absolutely smitten with you, laughing as you tried playing with her tail. “She is very cute,” Neytiri said acknowledging Jake’s presence.
You played with the two of them for a few minutes, but they were enough to have Jake wondering what it would be like to start a family with Neytiri.
She was so gentle with you, he didn't know if it was because she didn't want to hurt you, or because you were so small. He looked back on these memories with fondness.
“What are you thinking about,” Neytiri wrapped an arm around his waist bringing him back to reality.
“Her,” he wished you were able to grow up with his kids. Neytiri never liked humans, but for you, she held a special spot in her heart.
“Daddy, watch me!” Tuk jumped from a high rock landing on her feet. Tuk reminded Jake of your spirit always eager to learn.
“Good job!” Tuk ran into his arms, laughing. Neytiri also found herself thinking about you, “you guys seem lost in thought today,” Kiri said she noticed how absent-minded the both of them were acting. “We are thinking of the past,” Neytiri smiled bittersweet at the memories.
Neteyam's parents, of course, told them what happened before they were born, but he knew they didn't tell the whole story.
“She was only a year older than Neteyam,” Jake started, “she was a very energetic child, for a human child,” Tuk eyes widen, “there was another human baby here before Spider!”
Neytiri nodded, “she was different from him, she could breathe the air here,” the children's eyes widen at the thought of their mother liking a human. “She was very brave, even for being so small.”
“She saved me and your father, children,” Neytiri would never forget the bravery you showed even though you were still small.
Neteyam’s interest grew as his parents spoke of you. He wanted to meet the brave human child, “what happened to her?”
Neytiri's eyes fell, “well, her father passed so they sent her to live with her mother back on earth.” Lo’ak thought for a minute, “but I thought babies couldn't go back?” Jake nodded, “they can't but her father-.”
“AHHHHHHH,” a scream was heard through the forest. Tuk clung to her father quickly, “what was that?” Jake handed Tuk to Kiri as he placed a hovering hand over his knife.
“Stay behind me,” Neytiri stood closely as they came closer, a Na’vi sat on the floor looking at her hands. When Tuk noticed it wasn't a threat she ran toward her, “are you okay?”
A blood-curdling scream came out of the girl as she pushed herself away, “STAY AWAY.”
Your eyes landed on Jake, and his heart stopped beating. Neytiri came closer, trying to grab Tuk when she stopped as well. They’d recognize those big eyes anywhere, “[Y/n].”
Tumblr media
When you had awoken, you didn't remember anything. Well, you remembered why you ran off, but you didn't remember tripping or falling.
You attempted to stand up but fell quickly. It was like you were in a new body, so when you looked down at your hands and saw blue you couldn't help but scream. Had you fallen in paint? You felt your body and realized you were no longer human at all. You took a deep breath in, “must be a dream.”
That was the only logical way to explain how this could happen. You examined your hand, you must've been starting for a long period of time you hadn't noticed the little Na’vi girl come in front of you.
“Are you okay?” you let a scream out, covering your mouth afterward to stop yourself. You heard bushes move and noticed another blue Na’vi come out, “[Y/n],” you couldn't believe he said your name.
“I thought she was human,” the girl in front of you spoke as another one came out the pushes, “I don't think this is her,” someone spoke from behind the large man. “Maybe she is,” a tall boy spoke. He immediately went quiet when you made eye contact, looking anywhere but at you.
Neteyam felt like he was going to vomit just looking at you. You were absolutely stunning, although you looked lost. Your eyes traveled to everyone, “she’d be human if she were [Y/n],” you stood up stabilizing yourself with a sigh, “how could I be the wrong [Y/n]” if this is my dream?”
You rubbed your arm, which had a nasty cut from falling earlier, “who are all of you anyway?” You assumed you’d be waking up from this lucid dream soon enough, so why not talk to the people.
“I’m Tuk! That’s my sister Kiri!” the little girl pointed at a girl who waved at you. You gave a smile back, “that's my brother Lo’ak, and that's my other brother, Neteyam.”
You nodded at Lo’ak and went to do the same to Neteyam, but his eyes were stuck on you. “Hello,” you spoke to him breaking him from his trance. “Hi,” he spoke shyly.
“And these are our parents-,” Neytiri cut the girl off, “Neytiri and Jake,” she assumed their name would jog your memory but you didn't say anything, “cool names, and you guys already know mine.”
“Let us bring you to Mo’at, she can heal your arm,” Kiri came forward and began dragging you. “I’ll be alright when I wake up, no need!”
Everyone looked at you funny but kept walking, “how come she hasn't remembered?” Neytiri whispered to Jake who shrugged, “give her time it's been a while.”
Your eyes lit up as you watched the scenery around you, “this place is amazing!” you faced Neteyam, “my father was a scientist!”
Neteyam watched as you stopped every five seconds to look at something, “my mother said he was crazy smart,” Neteyam smiled, “you must be then.”
“Oh, i’m not up to his level yet, but hopefully by next year I’ll be sure to be even smarter!” Jake smiled he knew you’d probably outgrow your father's smartness.
“Who is this Mo’at person?” you looked at Neteyam to answer but he said nothing so Kiri spoke up, “she is our tribe Tsahik,” you nodded as you all walked closer, “Tsahik,” you muttered the word under your breath.
“We're here!” Kiri brought you to sit down as an older woman walked in. She smiled big at you, “who are you?” the woman grabbed your arm examining the cut, “Mo’at?” the woman made eye contact with you, “no, i’m Mo’at the question is who are you.”
“[Y/n],” you winced as she began fixing the cut, “the [Y/n]?” you shrugged, “is there another one of me walking around here?” the woman gave you a smile, “last time we spoke you could barely walk, let alone speak.”
You looked at her funny, “we’ve met before?” she laughed as Jake walked in, “I think she might have hit her head on her way here!” Jake gave a sad smile, “you are to be a Tsahik in training very soon, we can't have one with memory loss.”
Your eyes widen as the woman finally finished your arm, “Tsahik in training? What is she talking about?” you stood up facing them, “you’re [Y/n] are you not?” Jake questioned you, “Mo’at you remember her, you'd know if she was her.”
“Not hardly,” Neteyam walked in as Jake sighed, “you looked so much like her,” Even though you were blue now, Jake swore he’d be able to recognize your smile and your eyes. You backed up walking into Neteyam, “this is just a dream.”
Neteyam looked at you weirdly, “i’m going to wake up and be back in my room,” you pinched yourself yet nothing changed. You pinched yourself harder, and this time Neteyam put a hand over yours stopping you. “Okay, maybe this isn't a dream.”
“Maybe if I brought you by the waterfall it help jog your memory,” Neteyam smiled at you. You nodded as he led you out of the room, “there is no memory to come back, you guys have the wrong girl!” Jake watched as you left the room.
“She was picked by Eywa,” Mo’at said, “she will sooner or later learn her fate,” Jake nodded, “I just wish things didn't go down the way they did.” Mo’at nodded, “we all wish things were different.”
You sat by the peaceful waterfall in silence. Unbeknownst to you, this was the very one you met Neytiri at, “remember yet?” you shook your head. “You said your father was a scientist, what was he like?”
You shrugged looking at him, “wouldn't know he died when I was younger. But I still feel connected to him, I have all his old diaries.”
You smiled at Neteyam which made his heart flutter, “he spoke of me in them, he said he loved me more than anything. Can you imagine loving someone is much, you’d die for them?”
Neteyam nodded, “yea, I understand,” you blushed looking away, “I wish I could stay here,” you knew whenever you found your way home, you’d be forced back to reality which was marrying that boy.
“Then stay, we could explore the forest every day together!” he grabbed your hands looking into your eyes. “I wish but my mom would hate it,” you felt so comfortable opening up to Neteyam it was like you’d known him your whole life.
“She’s forcing me to marry someone,” Tears welled up in your eyes thinking about it. “I’m my own person and it feels like she just wants to get rid of me.” Neteyam kissed your knuckles, “it's going to be okay.”
Neteyam let you rant, he listened only speaking to calm you, he hugged you and you felt so safe. You both were put till late, talking about different things.
“Sky people have been terrorizing us for a long time,” you listened as he explained how his father used to be one of them, but Eywa chose him, “Eywa saw him and let him become one of the people.”
“What do you mean she saw him?” Neteyam smiled, “when someone says they see you, they don't mean literally they mean they see into you.”
You still looked a little confused so he did a hand gesture, “I see you, [Y/n], I see into you, I see the raw version, not just the one you put up for others,” you smiled big, “I see you Neteyam.”
He smiled, “do you still not remember?” you sighed, “I don't remember anything Neteyam, I wish I could!” A sudden movement in the bushes caused Neteyam to jump in front of you, “let's head back.”
As you both moved quickly, a hand grabbed you by the hair pulling you away from Neteyam, “Neteyam!” you reached out for him but he was grabbed by his queue.
He yelled out in pain, and a memory came back to mind. A man screamed as he was being held by his hair, “look at this pretty little thing,” the man behind you held you firmly as he sniffed you. “Let go of her,” he said through gritted teeth.
“Please let him go,” you tried moving but it was futile, a larger man came out smiling, and Neteyam's eyes widen at the man. “Surprised?” tears rolled down your cheeks as he came closer to you, “don't cry, pretty girl but it seems your boyfriend might've forgotten to tell you who I am.”
“They call me Quaritch, but you can call me Miles.” He flashed you a smile as the man behind you laughed. “DON’T TOUCH HER!” Neteyam screamed causing the man to look at him.
“Good catch, you caught his oldest son,” the man grabbed Neteyam, “here's what's going to happen, little lady here is going to tell Jake Sully we have his son,” he shook Neteyam a bit, “or else i’m going to kill him.”
The man let go of you and you tried running to get to Neteyam, “Stop, please!” Neteyam was dragged away but not before you heard him yelling, “it's going to be okay, my love.”
They left as soon as they came, leaving you to your tears. You wiped your tears and stood up quickly, heading back to Jake. You were going to get Neteyam back.

After a lot of pestering from Doffy, Crocodile finally agrees to bring his child to Dressrosa for a playdate. The two kids are getting along real well. "Awww, ain't that cute, Croccy? Like two peas in a pod-"
"I will cram 50 kilos of sand down your throat and then light it on fire if you don't remove that hand now."
Crocodile watched his kid play with Doffy’s…they actually got along pretty well which was completely unexpected.
“They are cute…”, he’d say before smacking Doffy’s hand away, “…maybe they’ll grow up to be friends too…who knows”.
“Hey Wani…make me a promise”, Doffy said gently as he looked at his kid, his smile falling a little.
Crocodile was about to say no but noticed the change in the blonde, “…what is it?”.
“…if anything…happens to me…take care of my kid, okay? I know we ain’t that close but you know what the World Government did to Roger…I don’t want nothing bad happening to my kid…we don’t have anyone that’s family to take care of him…so take care of my kid…”, Doffy said calmly.
Crocodile raised a brow at him before turning back to watch their children before exhaling from his cigar, “…you know I will”.

@thursdayplaid thoughts/predictions for harrow the ninth
harrows hallucination is not new. nice to know. (she had that question after the first bit. we just finished chapter two and paused to chat)
whether she’s actually hallucination or seeing the body in a vision (is it internal or external) it doesn’t rly matter cause of what they cause to happen narratively. the result is the same
the body isn’t the first resurrection?
what would be the irony if you kill an entire planet to resurrect someone and that creates a crazy beast and then the person immediately just offs themselves (she means the body, though she did add this was more of a fun theory)
doesn’t like jod. he’s now a villain
he doesn’t have to play nice. he’s the only person in the book who could pretty much do whatever he wanted
the fact that there is consequences to killing a planet- very satisfying. like our world is being killed by ppl we cant touch and even if we can they’ll be replaced
jod needs to get another hobby
very happy the planets are fighting back
he doesn’t deserve eyes that cool!! we need to invent a new color that’s bad just for him
what should happen is- actually killing a planet slowly also creates resurrection beasts except they take longer to show up
he doesn’t even deserve to look upon soup!!! and also broth. no broth for jod. or stew. banned
even tho now it makes sense in hindsight, she’s a little sad the body wasn’t Gideon and just that harrow couldn’t bear to say her name
harrows gonna resurrect the body. or gideon. or both. might be almost worth it to kill more planets just to have more creatures to go after the emperor
jod is like if someone took like a shell ceo and made him god
like to charge reblog to cast that harrow brings about the death of the emperor and does it like three more times
she said i could copy paste this as long as i also told everyone that i am the best
bonus thoughts/theories about gideon the ninth under the cut
we’re right before the pool scene she’s like- oh something about dulcinea is off not saying she’s the bad guy, not that this story really has bad guys and good guys, but the ways she react dont really add up
“also it seems too far fetched that gideon would be like- the kid of the emperor or something” 👀 “her eyes and her hair are just such a unique color and other characters seem to emphasize that and be like ‘i wonder where you’re from’ but i think it might be a bit too cliche for this story if she was the kid of the emperor”
also theorizing about all the ninth kids dying being a necromantic experiment “maybe they accidentally created a biological weapon?” “maybe gideon was the first person who was resurrected, and she like absorbed life energy. and when she was a child she accidentally absorbed the life force from the other children and as she grew older she became in tune with the planet so she didn’t have to absorb from other people anymore” (almost reverse lyctor?) maybe she was a created child, like the person wasnt actually her natural bio mom omg she just said “alternate theory- harrow absorbed all the children oh wait nvm forget that theory it doesn’t make sense”
“my theory is gideon finally ends up escaping at the end of the book and the next book is harrow trying to get her back, maybe not in a traditional sense”
“what’s in the tomb? a disease that killed the kids? the emperor? the first emperor? is it not a tomb at all but a prison??” is gideon the thing that used to be in the tomb? “i think what’s in there is the first and only resurrected creature and that for some reason it’s tied to the ninth house or the emperor or something like that. maybe it’s like the emperors power source or something’
the heads of the ninth house saw their kids were dying and tried to wake up the thing in the tomb that knows the secrets of immortality and resurrection and tell it to bring back the children only they open the tomb and oops it’s a baby (gideon) who isn’t really of use, maybe she has the secret in her but she can’t tell them or maybe they tried to synthesize a cure from the baby but were too late harrow opens the tomb and sees its empty, or sees the lock is broken, and when the parents are like- you’re in trouble harrow does uno reverse and threatens to call the emperor and tell him they released his immortality baby i dont actualy think gideon is the tomb baby, but if she was, it would make sense why they were so obsessed with not letting her leave
is this a plot to kill the emperor?

Shinagawa Sanemi x Reader
Quote: “Fall in love because of your differences with another person.”
“What are you looking at?” Sanemi asks, as he takes a seat across from you.
He had just finished a long mission when he happened to stumble upon you. You’re sitting at a cafe staring out the window at the children playing outside. He hadn’t planned on coming inside and speaking with you but you just seemed very… lonely.
Sanemi has never been one to care much about the feelings of others but he just can’t seem to turn away from you. Not this time.
You smile, not bothering to look at him, “the children.”
“Ugh,” Sanemi scoffs, “children. Such a hassle, especially in a world like this.”
“You were once a child too, Shinagawa~” You hummed.
“And that’s exactly why I know this isn’t a world meant for children.”
You bring the drink in your hands for a sip before finally turning to look at Sanemi, “I guess you’re right. That’s we’re here though.”
“To get rid of the children?” Teases Sanemi.
“What? No! We’re here to make a place where the children can live carefree and happily.” You turn to look back out the window. There’s a rather dopey look on your face as you watch the children play outside. It’s one of admiration and adoration but it’s also so very sad. It’s a look Sanemi recognizes.
“Do you want children of your own?” Asks Sanemi.
“No, I don’t want children.”
To Sanemi, there has always been the words you said and the way you said them.
Your words, everything you have said up until now, shows that you agree with Sanemi. That you don’t think this is a world you would never want to bring children into. That you would never have the time and you feel as though they would never be safe. But the look in your eyes says otherwise. It tells Sanemi how desperately you yearn for something that you can not have. The sadness in your face says that you will not allow yourself to have something you so desperately want.
And it is in the way you say children that tells him otherwise.
You are like a potted flower that has yet to bloom in spring. You are stuck inside, away from your natural habitat, only viewing the outside world from a window. The sunlight that manages to make its way through seems to only be but a semblance of what you could be, of everything you should be.
And here you are, stolen from the world you seek to be a part of because someone has deemed you far too delicate to fend off the elements alone.
You, naive and innocent, do not know that the outside world is everything you deserve and more. You, unlike Sanemi, are kind and soft. You do not argue for something you do not think you deserve and it infuriates the Wind Pillar.
He is infuriated upon your behalf because you will not be angry for yourself and maybe… he’s also a little angry with you.
It is a strange thing, to be angry with someone you are angry for but it is still the situation in which Sanemi has found himself in and a part of.
“Do you?” You ask, breaking Sanemi away from his train of thought.
“Do I what?”
“Do you want children?”
“No.”
“I can see that.”
Your little comment comes off more as an insult to the Wind Pillar. It’s an irrational and unprovoked kind of insult that bubbles up in Sanemi. He’s insulted that you agreed with him even if it's true. Is that really the kind of aura he gives off.
You hide a smile behind your cup, “so why don’t you want children?”
Sanemi rolls his eyes, “I thought that was obvious from our conversation.”
“Indulge me.”
“Fine,” Sanemi huffs, “I don’t want children because they’ll be nothing but a hassle. I’ll never be around them growing up and so they’ll probably grow up resenting me. I’m not a very nice person so they won’t get along with me. I especially don’t want a kid growing up like me.”
You laugh, “yes, I can’t imagine the world if there were two Sanemis running around.”
The gruff Pillar's face breaks out into a flush.
“Oh! I’m sorry!” You flush as well, “I shouldn’t have used your first name without permission.”
Sanemi looks away from you, “it’s whatever.”
Now it’s his turn to stare out the window. He can spot at least three different children playing around. They’re tossing a ball of some sort between the three of them using only their feet. The taller two are quite skilled while the shorter (and likely younger) one struggles to keep up. The short one reminds Sanemi of his own younger brother.
Always trying to do something they aren’t ready to.
Always chasing after someone else.
The short one stumbles over their own feet as they attempt to keep the ball in the air and ends up falling flat on their face. Sanemi’s immediate instinct is to scoff and laugh. What a foolish kid. Trying to do something way out of their level of skill.
Only one of the two older children shares Sanemi’s sentiments. They laugh and seem to say something in a taunting manner. The other child rushes to the fallen one with a look of concern. It’s a look that matches one on your own face as you piece together what’s happened.
It looks as though you might jump out there to help them. Sanemi even thinks you might burst through the window like some kind of superhero to make sure that everything is alright. You don’t, luckily. But it would have been quite the story if you had. Sanemi can already see the other Pillars’ reactions.
“Why did you choose to become a Demon Slayer?” Ask Sanemi.
“Hm?”
“I’ve never asked you before. You’ve clearly been a Demon Slayer much longer than me but I never got to know why.”
“That’s surprising.”
“What? Do you just expect me to know? Is your story that famous or something?”
“No, not you not knowing.” you say, “you wanting to know is surprising.”
“Why?”
“Because you come across as a person that doesn't care much about someone’s past.” you said. And there was that strange twinge of annoyance that came from you guessing him correctly. Maybe he was annoyed because that wasn’t the kind of person he wanted to be. You’re quick to catch onto Sanemi’s wounded pride before you quickly clear your throat, “I don’t mean that in a bad way, of course. I just meant that you seem to be the kind of person that focuses solely on the path ahead of you.”
“And that sounds so much better.”
“Do you think it’s an insult?”
“Well it definitely isn’t a compliment.”
“Oh, I’m sorry you don’t see it that way.”
Sanemi scoffed, “and how else should I see it?”
“Personally, I think it’s rather admirable. To see someone purely as who they are in front of you and not of every sin they’ve committed, every mistake they’ve ever made.” You explain, “being able to focus on something you want to do without getting distracted by the noise around you is something very admirable.”
“Oh. Thanks I guess.”
“So anyways, I became a Demon Slayer because my father wanted me to. He put me through really difficult training when I was younger. He was quite a hard man who didn’t accept any excuses. He didn’t allow me to see any other path.” you said.
“That’s…” And Sanemi can’t really think of anything else to say.
“It’s not that bad. I definitely resented him when I was younger but in retrospect I can see he only did it because he wanted me to be strong.”
“Why have you stuck to this path for so long then? I would have left long ago if it wasn’t something I wanted to do.”
“Because I can’t imagine any other life.”
Sanemi thinks that if you are any flower then you must be an aster. Love, wisdom and faith have clearly blessed you in this life. Your father had seen those blessings and plucked you from the life you wanted in place of a life he thought you should have had. Now you stand, still waiting to bloom, from the inside looking out.
What Sanemi can’t decide on is your colour.
Perhaps purple? Wisdom is definitely a strong suite of yours. He can see you imparting your wise words to a boy like him when you are old.
But maybe white instead? You see the world with such innocent eyes after all. Even after all the pain and suffering you’ve lived through.
Or what about red? You certainly seem to have undying devotion to a path someone else has made for you.
No. You must be a pink aster.
You will bloom into someone with sensitivity and love. This life on the inside looking out is not one you were born to have. It is not the one you should have settled with. It is not the path you should continue to take.
For certain, once you bloom, you will be pink.
“I don’t want children because I don’t think I deserve them.” you say suddenly.
“What?”
“I don’t deserve children. The path of life I’ve been set on isn’t one that will allow me to be there. I don’t think I’d be able to do my job as a Demon Slayer without always thinking back on the children and wanting to make sure they’re okay.” you sigh, “we live a life that does not allow distractions.”
Your answer is expected.
It’s a clear observation based on what you know.
It’s a solid prediction based on what could happen.
And, it’s a strange answer. At least to Sanemi it’s a strange answer.
Okay, he doesn't exactly know how he expected you to answer but he knows that what you said was nothing in the realm of ordinary. It’s nothing he expected and by being nothing you expected it is strange.
Is it unpredictable? No but…
Perhaps it is only foreign to Sanemi because it is not what he has always believed. It is never an answer he would have given and thus not an answer he would have expected. It is certainly something he should have expected from you though.
“Who’s to say you don’t deserve children?” Ask Sanemi, “who’s right is it to tell you that you wouldn’t be a good mother and a good Demon Slayer at the same time? Who’s right is it to put you on a certain path and expect you to follow it. It certainly doesn't seem like a path you have chosen for yourself.”
“I don’t really think you have a right to say something like that, now do you.”
Sanemi scoffs, “don’t we all have a right to think what we should and do what we believe?”
And you laugh, “as long as you accept yourself to be a hypocrite, then you can think whatever you want.”
“And how am I being hypocritical?”
“Why are you a Demon Slayer?”
“So I can-” and Sanemi cuts himself off, turning to look out the window once again.
Unlike him you seem to expect his answer. You can see it in the way he speaks to his younger brother and the way he acts. You can see it in his eyes and hidden smiles. You’ve always been a quieter member of the Pillars. You aren’t eccentric and extravagant. You aren’t loud and brash. You have always lingered in the back and observed.
Sanemi wonders how you have seen it before he has.
It’s strange how it gets his heart pumping so fast. The idea of you watching and observing him. Of seeing things about himself that he doesn't see.
Sanemi has never been someone to see things before others. He’s never been the kind of person to be able to read between the lines.
He charges into things head first.
He charges into this head first. He isn’t certain if this is exactly where he wants to go but he knows where he wants to be when it ends. Sanemi feels as if he’s falling. Your smile sends his stomach into a fluttering mess. He was hungry after completing his mission but now he doesn't think he’ll be able to keep anything down.
“So, what are you thinking about right now?” You tease, placing your cup in front of Sanemi.
He turns, “you.”
Fall in love because of your differences with another person.

Can I pls ask for a fic with Finny spending a workday with his baby boy? His baby's still crawling but likes to see the different things in the garden estate. Finny's s/o leaves the Phantomhive estate everyday for work outside, which is why Finny is tasked with looking after their son during the day. Just wholesome fluff with our sunshine boy and his sunshine baby 🌞 Thank you ❤️
UGHHHHH BABIESSSSSS <3 <3 <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The life that FINNY has always dreamed of has finally become reality.
Maybe it took a while, but when he prayed for the future he wanted, this is almost exactly what it looked like. He has a steady home where he’s safe, a place he helps to run and protect; a wonderful person who he’s fallen in love with; and, possibly the most exciting part of his life, a child. The son he has with his beloved (Name), Valerian, has just passed his fourth month, and even though he and his darling are inexperienced new parents, things are starting to settle a little bit.
He’s up early in the morning, just how he likes it. The rising sun gives him enough energy to start the day, and before he knows it comes a bit of a sad moment ― the one when (Name) has to leave for work. They don’t work inside the manor like he does, so watching them walk off the property toward their job always makes his heart sigh.
They’ll be back later, though, and that will be one of the best moments of the day. By the time they give him a kiss goodbye, say they love him and Valerian, and head out, it’s usually well around the time that the master has finished breakfast and gone to his study.
That leaves Finny with his son, ready to work in the garden. Sebastian will come by later to check that things are going well, and to encourage Finny to take a rest.
(Finny thinks that’s mostly for Valerian’s sake. Whilst there are times he worries that being constantly outside isn’t ideal for an infant, he also can’t bring himself to just leave Valerian indoors with Sebastian. Before his son was even born, Finny promised himself that any child of his would have everything he didn’t. There’s no chance he would ever be worried enough to keep his child trapped inside four walls the way he was.)
So down goes a blanket, then Valerian on top of it, in a place where Finny can keep a good eye on him. Today is for planting some new flowers, so he isn’t moving too far. If he does, all he needs to do is scoop the blanket up in his arms along with his son.
He coos over Valerian for a minute before starting work, as one must. He makes sure the baby is settled in a place where the sun isn’t too hot, he gently pokes Valerian’s tummy, he lets the little one grip his finger for a few seconds. Idly, in some faraway part of his mind, Finny violently hopes his strength isn’t something that he could pass on to any children he has. Useful as it is, it’s also one of his biggest struggles. Hopefully there’s nothing to worry about; Valerian’s grasp doesn’t seem that strong. They’ll just have to wait and see when he gets older.
At last, he moves away to start his planting. It’s hard, physical work, but it’s barely an effort for someone like him. He’s gotten the hang of being as gentle with the rest of the world as he is with his partner and his baby, so it’s just been one more improvement for his life.
After every one flower he plants, he makes sure to look over at Valerian. It doesn’t concern him if the baby crawls off the blanket a little to play with the grass and the rest of the flowers, as long as he doesn’t go past where Finny can see him. He desperately wants to make sure his son experiences the full joy of the garden… the grass, the flowers, the sky, the sunshine.
It’s something he remembers having none of. That his greatest wish after years of isolation and torture was to go outside. It was such a simple thing, something most people take for granted, but it’s the one thing he wants more than anything to be a part of Valerian’s life.
He hums quietly as he works, and he laughs when he hears Valerian giggling. One of these days, he thinks, he’s going to set aside some time where he goes to sit under one of the shady trees in the yard. He’ll have Valerian in his lap, and he’ll tell him a story, and then they’ll just nap together, right there, in a spot that’s cool enough yet where the sun can still warm their toes.
For now, it’s just a plan. He’s content to do his work, watch his son enjoy everything he didn’t as a child, and think about how lucky he is to have a life like this. He’s always most at peace while he’s out here in the garden, so he’s delighted to be able to share it all with his baby.
It takes about an hour for him to finish planting. Not too long, given that the new flowers only call for three rows which aren’t too terribly lengthy. In that time, he’s looked over to find Valerian pulling out a few tiny clumps of grass, reaching up toward several clouds, and squealing with laughter when a butterfly landed on his nose… and again on his forehead.
Finny’s had to shoo a couple of bumblebees away from the infant ― that’s really the most trouble the two of them have had all morning. Despite the fact that Valerian isn’t old enough to have complex feelings and won’t remember any of this, Finny thinks his son is happy. That’s the most valuable thing he believes he can offer his baby; every potential opportunity for happiness.
He’s pretty sure he’s earned a break. So, intending to only sit for a few minutes, he plops himself down on the grass and rolls over to lie on his stomach, reaching to playfully run his fingers up and down Valerian’s small, chubby legs. “Oi! There’s my little man! Havin’ fun playin’ round in the grass, huh? Lookin’ up at the sky? What are we seein’, Val? What’s that cloud? Is it… a bird? Hm. That’s what it looks like to me… what d’you think?”
It’s only when Sebastian walks out from the manor and strolls into the garden that Finny takes his attention off the baby. Thankfully, as strict as he still is, the general air of the manor as a whole has become quite calm since Valerian came along. “And how are things going out here, Finnian?”
“Oh! Mister Sebastian! Sorry…” He laughs sheepishly as he pushes himself back up to sit instead of lying down. “Just finished with these rows, so I was takin’ a little breather. I think it’s goin’ really well, though! Aah… how’s it look to you?”
As always, the butler’s eye is perfectly scrutinizing as he looks over the new rows of flowers Finny has just planted. Sebastian looking at something Finny has just done never fails to make him nervous. “Hm. I would agree; fair work. That isn’t the last of your work, but I would say a breather is well deserved after your first task.”
That makes Finny let out a sigh of relief. “Thank you so much, sir! I’ll get back to it in just a moment.” He grins proudly. “Seems like Valerian really loves bein’ out here with me!”
“You want him to have all the things you never did, don’t you?” There’s something… off in Sebastian’s smile, when he talks about things like this. Finny has always thought of Sebastian as a father figure, and the way he talks about Finny’s child and Finny being a father himself, it makes him wonder if perhaps Sebastian didn’t have a pleasant childhood either. “It’s noble. You’re doing a commendable job. Valerian is the very picture of a happy, healthy baby.”
… Still. He can’t help but beam at compliments like that. It feels like his life has finally fallen into place. “Mhm, I just… that’s all I want for him, you know? Happy an’ healthy. Ain’t nothin’ else matters. Mister Sebastian, would you… want to hold him for a minute?”
He doesn’t know if that’s anything which will be a happy memory to Sebastian. It’s all he can think to offer, and moreover, Valerian seems to adore the other man.
Something like surprise flickers over Sebastian’s face, but his typical smile is back so fast Finny almost thinks he imagined the other expression. “Ah, that’s quite alright. However… is he supposed to be putting that in his mouth?”
“What?!” Finny’s nearly thrown into a panic as he quickly returns his gaze to his son. Aaah, Mister Sebastian, you distracted me!!
Luckily, the ‘that’ Sebastian was referring to doesn’t seem to be anything poisonous or dangerous. It appears that Valerian simply picked up a particularly long, broad blade of grass and has only just started to chew on it. Babies will be babies, he supposes. Serves him right for looking away for a few seconds too long!
He still hurries to scoop Valerian up, delicately tugging the baby’s hand away from his mouth and pulling the grass out. “No, no! No! We don’t eat grass, Valerian! It isn’t food.” Though, speaking of. “Aah… he might just be hungry. I know I only started an hour or so ago, but would it be alright if I went inside to give him a bottle? It won’t take more than fifteen minutes!”
“Surely. That won’t be a problem at all.” Sebastian gives a brief nod, then steps closer to lean down and give the baby a smile. “Your father is correct, Valerian. Grass is not food. You mustn’t be so silly, alright?”
Valerian gives what Finny thinks is the only proper response. He laughs, then reaches out to pat Sebastian’s cheeks with both hands.
It seems even Sebastian isn’t fully immune to the charms of a little baby. His smile grows the slightest bit more genuine before he, very carefully, removes Valerian’s hands from his face. “Oh, dear. I must concede to your convincing logic. Then, feel free to be as silly as you like.”
With that, he straightens up and gives Finny the same smile. “Do make sure all your work gets done, Finnian, but take your time in feeding him. And if you need another few moments inside should he get hungry again, you have my permission to do whatever you need to in order to take care of him.” His entire face softens just a bit. “I should hope you already know you have my permission for that, but I suppose it bears repeating. And come find me if you’re in need of anything, alright?”
“A-ah… yes, Mister Sebastian! Thank you.” Finny gives a bob of his head that’s meant to be a sort of bow, then lightly bounces Valerian in his arms. “I’ll keep that in mind… I appreciate it very much, sir. And I’ll get everything done, you don’t need to worry about that!”
Sebastian simply looks the gardener up and down, infant in his arms and all, and his smile widens. “No, I suppose I don’t. Well, I shall check up on you again later.”
Finny takes a deep breath, and cuddles Valerian against his chest as he heads up the stairs. “Come on, Valerian. Let’s go find Uncle Bard ― he’ll get a bottle of milk all nice an’ warm for you, while Auntie Mey pinches your cheeks!”
Almost as if he thinks he needs to, he adds a gentle, “We’ll be back outside again before you know it. I promise.”

Penelope’s fingers curl around the chair. She watches the spirit drifting around; she knows she should say something but she decides not to; there’s no need to bother it; not when it’s just floating around; not when it's lost.
“Do you need help; or are you just going to hover all around….” Penelope drawls and the spirit still hovers but it seems more agitated.
“Useless thing.” Penelope shoos it away; it’s been following her like a lost dog and she’s growing annoyed. It never speaks; never makes any sort of sound; not even a wail of a distraught one.
The spirit plays with Jason and Cheryl; it keeps an eye on them and Penelope can’t really fault it for that. Until Jason gets sick; and then Cheryl does and then Penelope pulls out her books and reverses it.
The spell she uses isn’t hard; in fact she teaches it to both Jason and Cheryl to use it; so if they ever get sick; so if they ever feel their strength leaving them they can boost it up. She knows it's dangerous; teaching such young children such dark magic; but she knows the villagers don’t bother her.
The villagers become a problem when the first potion fails. The woman brings her child back; too sick; too weak to make a sound and leaves her with Penelope. Sometimes she hates their blind trust.
She tells them the child died; she tells them the sickness was too great; the spirit grows more restless; finally making sounds; a piercing screech whenever Penelope lies as more villagers bring their sick children in; as Jason and Cheryl seem to grow healthier and healthier; as the spirit grows more and more angry.
The council meets; Penelope; Alice, Forsythe, Fred; the parents; the ones who haven’t lost children. The other families are their; all the kids are playing with Cheryl and Jason; there’s no need for them to hide; all of the children avoided the sickness.
They can all see the spirit; it hovers behind Penelope and cries; screams when she tries to lie about it. Alice Cooper and Forsythe Jones ask her about it; they don’t talk to it directly, it’s screams increase.
“Monstrous things mean monstrous creatures doing it. Your outside should match the inside of you; all the time.” The voice hisses and then everything goes black.
When everyone wakes up they find none of them can die; none of them can leave the town lines; it pushes them back.
Forsythe; who now goes by FP, finds himself and most of the southside Serpents transform into werewolves anytime they feel excessive emotions or when the full moon shines. Alice Cooper and her children all scream when someone dies, not that it happens often but when strangers wander into the town. Fred Andrews and his family hunger for blood; although Mary manages to get out; something about her kindness to the spirit allows her to leave. The Lodges are irresistible to anyone who comes into the town; they leave as well; the spirit knows they’ll all need more humans to feed on one way or another.
The Blossom’s are witches. They’re necromancers specifically but they never raise the dead; they know the dead should stay that way. They learned; they were the cause and they know the history. Everyone thinks it’s Penelope’s great great grandmother who cursed the town; and it is; if you know they’re one and the same. All the adults know but they try to keep the children from the awareness; Hiram keeps them drugged with Jangle; he and Clifford are in league; using each other as scapegoats anytime the kids get too close to figuring things out.
Penelope’s fingers curl around Jason’s neck; stroking the hair at the base of his skull. He doesn’t move; doesn’t blink; doesn’t breathe; Penelope thinks that maybe the dead shouldn't’ stay dead for the first time when they pull her son out of the river.
He’s laid out in his best clothes; the least they can do is heal all the wounds he received. He really does look just like he’s sleeping and it should be enough for her. It’s not; and as she leaves; not noticing Cheryl is watching from the shadows.
Cheryl Blossom isn’t cursed. The whole town is; she knows it; it’s what her mother said; it’s what her family tries so desperately to hide; how bloody their hands really are.
If anyone knew what her family had done; the truth of it; she knows she’d be thrown to the wolves; and everyone knows the Southside werewolves leave no scraps.
It’s been centuries since they’ve had anyone new in town; until your family moves in.

Alert promo for 1x05 “Miguel”
Tumblr media
cute pic via @dax.catre on insta!
Alert 1x04 “Andy” Review
Hey everyone!! Here’s my thoughts on this weeks episode 1x04 “Andy:”
- okay so i actually thought that this was a strong episode, dare i say the strongest we’ve seen yet? there wasn’t a ton of unbelievable nonsense (don’t get me wrong there was still some, just not as much as we’ve previously seen lol) and the case of the week kinda had an interesting twist. i read in a recent article (i forget which one) that this case is actually based on a true story…. that’s crazy!
- can i just say the little boy who played Andy was so freaking cute!! that being said, i feel like there was a lot of times when andy could’ve run away from his kidnappers (or real mother idk lol), like when his bio mother and the other guy was arguing he could’ve easily run away but like i guess it would’ve been risky, especially because the other kidnapper had a gun. but idk that’s probs just me being picky haha!
- i thought there was a healthy and more natural balance between the case and the characters personal issues/other storylines. finally! this is the first episode i can mostly confidently say that the balance actually worked!
- to go off of the case more, i have to really question nikki on this one. how the hell is she the leader of the missing persons unit if she writes the report with lies to protect the fake mother? like i get it, it’s better for the child but that woman still stole a child that wasn’t hers and nikki just basically let it happen! i want andy to stay with the fake mom too but that’s not lawfully right and if anyone every found out that nikki didn’t tell the truth in her report, she would definitely be fired! idk nikki was just off to me in this episode. i think she connected too personally with this case and it really showed that she couldn’t do her job with the correct morals of upholding the law.
- speaking of nikki, i thought dania ramirez was a bit bland this episode… it might’ve been just me but some of her dialogue seemed a bit flat. also i don’t know how much more i can take if she keeps calling everyone babies or her catchline of “saving our babies, that’s what we do.” like it was fine the first episode or two but it’s definitely not needed every episode.
- how the heck has jason not talked to june and apologized!! i’m sorry but if i was june i wouldn’t take him back! sorry jason! also, side note, when june said she was seeing someone else, i really thought she was admittedly cheating on jason. but ya if she wants a kid so bad, i don’t blame her for going and getting it done herself without jason’s help. i wonder if they’ll be back together… also does june know that keith is back? we never got that answered! lol
- i will say this again… what the hell is kemi doing? i’m probably ignorant and don’t know a lot about different spiritualities but i feel like it’s not needed in this show. the show is a procedural cop show, they solve the cases based on facts and clues, not so much in faith. it’s super interesting but it’s just not right for this show. now adding the new perspective of sidney and her “darkness” in her eyes, brings a new element for kemi because it relates to the keith mystery.
- i really liked how mike and jason teamed up for a lot of the episode… they obviously don’t see eye to eye on most things but it’s interesting to see them work together. i also like scott caan’s and ryan broussard’s dynamic and i would luv to see more of that in future episodes! also i do kinda luv jason’s recklessness, maybe it’s because scott caan’s danny from H5-0 was so reserved but it adds a bit more spark to the show, even if some of it is a bit unbelievable.
- the keith mystery once again deepens! we didn’t get too much farther this episode… i think we all kinda knew that the dna would match (keith had to of switched the baby hair to his). also i saw a theory that maybe jason wanted “keith” to be his son so bad that he didn’t show all of the dna paperwork to nikki. i’m not too sure about that one but it’s def something to consider as a possibility! now the new thing we found out is that keith supposedly drowned and sidney (and maybe her friend) was there to witness it. now we just have to find out who’s at the bottom of the lake.
- again i thought scott was great, i laughed out loud more this episode than in previous ones. i must admit, i thought it was a strong episode, some obvious blips but overall much better than the pilot! also maybe it was because “C” wasn’t there.. sorry i hate to be that person haha lol! i feel like it’s just a different dynamic when he’s there because he’s basically just filling up unneeded space.. the last two episode have been perfectly (dare i say more than) fine without him. he’s not needed, sorry y’all haha! i like the actor, nothing against him but his characters just isn’t it for me.
again, these are just my personal opinions. next weeks promo looks good! jason seems to be in a bit of trouble?!
what did everyone else think? is the show getting better? maybe? i’d luv to read and talk!💛

Day. 10 POOR UNFORTUNATE SOULS
Taser | Whipping | Waterboarding
Booker wakes with a startle, just as a door in the corridor opens and closes roughly, rusty hinges whining with the motion. He’s had hangovers worse than this, but some definitely better. It feels like everything should hurt, except nothing does. He’s thirsty, and hungry, and there are the distant aches in his shoulders and wrists from the way he’s bound, hand chained to the ceiling above him, but it’s not pain, not really. But nothing noteworthy, what to be expected from the fifth day of captivity. Pretty sure it’s the fifth, maybe be less, with his luck it’s likely to be more.
The thirst must finally be getting to him because it takes him another minute to realize it’s the door to his cell that was opened, and that in front of him stands three people, one in a suit and the two others in what can only be described as militia wet dreams. The urge to laugh at their choice of fashion is still strong, they haven’t beat that one out of him, and he doesn’t think they’ll manage to. He could recognize Suit by his shoes alone, he’s been visiting enough for Booker to remember him. The two others he brings along always change, when they don’t wear baklava over their face.
“Good,” Suits says, clasping his hands behind his back. “You’re awake.” Booker doesn’t raise his head, keeps it lolling down over his chest, watching the tip of his shoes move. “I was getting worried, you were out for quite some time.”
And if it had been any other day, any other decades, Booker might have risen to the bait, might have looked up to say something along the lines of ‘So you do care,’ or ‘You shouldn’t have, love’, he might have tried to have some fun. As it stands, he’s too tired for that, he’s not in the mood. Quite ironically, it’s now more than ever before that he should play this game, make them react, keep them engaged, find an opening to get out of here, now that he’s truly alone, for the first time in centuries. Playing it tough is only good when you have people backing you.
“We’ll try again,” he carries on, annoyance barely slipping through his tone. “Who sent you here. Who gave you intel on our whereabouts.” Of all bad time, bad place coincidences, Booker found some kind of covert american cells while he was simply trying to steal some corporate secrets, just enough to get him cash to live a few more months. Him wearing half an armory on his back didn’t help his case. He’s lucky they’re supposed to be dead to the world because when the guy they shot rose back to life in front of their eyes, he knew he should have been sent to yet another lab if not for the lack of communication. “Who do you work for.”
“Your mom,” Booker spits the blood stuck behind his tooth at his feet, narrowly misses his toes. He almost laughs, gives up when the idea of breathing more than necessary tires him already.
There’s a minute of silence, almost long enough to get Booker to look up. He knows how much Suit hates when he doesn’t give him attention. It’s like stealing a sucker from a child’s hand, almost too easy.
“Your… talent.” He pauses, Booker winces when the chains around his wrist dig into his nerve. “Where does it come from? How did you get it?” This feels like deja-vu and in the worse way possible. It’s been a decade and he cannot get Andy’s blood out of his head, cannot ignore the doctor’s hands on them and the fruitless effort it has all been. He’s not eager to live, but he’s past wanting to play lab rat.
“Trust me, you don’t want it.” Booker relents, raises his head to stare into those beady snake eyes. “Won’t do you any good.”
“I’ll be the judge of that.” There’s a jerk of his hand toward one of the faceless guards who walks up, closer. “Since you refuse to talk, let’s see if this is incendiary for you to.” Booker tracks the guard’s hand as he picks up a taser from his belt and oh, this is gonna hurt.
Those kinds of things never happen slowly, it’s not one second stretched out that you can observe. One second he’s staring at the Suit, the next violent burning pain flashes throughout his body, two flaming hooks in his chest as current travels through his limbs, each muscle spasms and tenses and cramps, as though they are being thorned apart. He can’t help it, he screams. Raw, loud, unashamed, screams as his entire body is one hot line of pain.
Isn’t progress grand? One day they invent the battery, the next one every house has an outlet and sooner than later they’re looking for ways to weaponize it. Booker has always hated it, from the moment they started using electrified traps and shocking people to death, he hated it. They always go from discovery to carnage, it's a pattern that never changes. Still, electricity is still one of the worst pain he’s known, and he’s no stranger to suffering.
When they finally pull the finger away from the trigger, Booker is once again sagging in his bounds, trying to get control back on his body. It’s easy, in mere seconds the spasms are gone and any tearing at the muscles and the tongue he bit are healed. Doesn't mean he doesn’t feel still how hard his heart beat, and the blazing white agony lingering like a phantom pain.
They unceremoniously tug the hook out of his chest, flesh tearing to free them and that is a one if he’s ever seen one. All he has to do is headbutt the guard, or simply use his legs to swipe him off his foot, then he can get leverage to get out of the chains. From that point, he can get to Suit, or the guard and then Suit, and it’ll be a breeze to walk out of here, won’t even need the key he can just use Suit as his pass.
Question is, should he? He watches as they pull out the hooks from his chest and ready a second taser, wondering if he even wants out of here, back into the world, all alone with nothing but his grief for companion. Does he want to try again like they all asked him to, does he deserve to?

you may delete this—- may i ramble on about my ideas for the some of vice-dormleader’s siblings?
i plan on rambling about the other twst characters too but that aside:
Clover!reader
They weren’t the best at baking like the rest of the family, which is why they are often outcasted from the family since it was their family business afterall, so it was odd seeing a Clover not good at baking.
This led to harsh comments and insults from their parents, which shattered reader’s confidence in their skills in anything. Suddenly, one particular comment changed everything, “Look at Trey, delivering orders as fast as lightning. You should be more liking him!”
This led reader to start being around Trey often and always asking him to teach them this and that, help them with that and this.. sometimes reader even mimicks Trey, maybe something he does to concentrate, something he always says out of the blue and even when he stretches.
Trey notices this and finds it amusing, not aware of the consequences and what this may lead to, and it isn’t anything good; reader became more dependent on Trey and always thought, “What would Trey do?”
losing their sense of identity and independence, unable to even recognize themselves in the mirror, because all they saw was someone who tried their hardest to be someone their parents wanted them ti be: like their older sibling.
Bucchi!reader (he’s a vice at this point, official or not)
Reader gets accepted into NRC, happy that they’ll finally see their older brother more… why in Great Sevens is he being bossed around by a lion prince?
You know when someone spites or hates someone else because they have something they don’t or living a better life than they are? reader’s mentality.
How come such greedy, selfish bastards get success while their kind are left fighting for scraps?
So they aren’t amused when they see their brother playing errand boy for one and will do their best to be an absolute menace to Leona, unaware that stereotyping all rich people to be greedy and selfish tyrants… (lol just wait until reader meets Kalim)
Leech!reader
Reader just wants to live a normal life, making friends and falling in love.. but they can’t have that when people always try to swim away from them since they’re the younger sibling if the infamous Leech Twins
Reader dislikes their family and their last name because of this, causing a rift
Still, their brothers aren’t having it and always smothers them with ‘love and affection’ even though it’s just them trying to embarrass them now that they’re in the same school now!
…say… i wonder when they’ll finally snap back at their brothers?
It would get ugly if so.
Viper!reader
You have been born into this world.. and is subjected to a life of servitude! Hoorah!
Because if this, reader was molded into a blank slate, a robotic like person who’s only mentality/purpose is to serve
So when people try to interact or talk to it like a normal person, they just space out, this wasn’t part of their training
of course they have feelings as well but they don’t want to be ‘weak’
Jamil and Najma definitely try to bring out their more expressive side, and this just adds to more reasons why Jamil resents this role they were given and his master
So when they end up in the same school as Jamil and Kalim, how are they gonna survive human interaction? Because this poor soul isn’t ready for it—-
this wasn’t in the manual?!?
black sheep extended universe :OO
i wouldn’t delete this anon <333 i thought about making ones for other characters too but held off so this was fun to read!!!
little clover!(name) looking up to trey in an unhealthy way but he doesn’t know that DD: i like the idea of the clover parents being a bit more oblivious as opposed to being straightforward? like they dont realize how their words affect theit child and simply think of it as praise for their beloved trey?
lil bucchi!(name) having an actual healthy sibling relationship but they are angered on behalf of him :(( like he’s taken such good care of him and all (name) can think about is paying him back by trying to ease his workload through being a menace. or or or they do the tasks for him instead and end up working too hard :0
leech!(name) having to live in their brothers’ shadows except it’s just they’re feared for being related ;-; and imagine they hate their eel form the same way ashengrotto!(name) does except leech hates it because they’re seen as dangerous and a threat to anyone who crosses them. they just want to make friends 😭
viper!(name) and rosehearts!(name) would prob get along really well. anyway, my first thought was jamil and najma holding (name) close and jamil just saying “what have they done to you?” def the one i wanna write most if i do,, but thriugh jamil’s pov prob because he feels so helpless and like he can’t do anything to make a better life for (name) :((
imagine vanrouge!(name) who just feels isolated from their big brother because he was always so busy, kinda like draconia!(name). like they want to have a relationship but never had the time. and and and everyone looks down on vanrouge!(name) because look at how cool their big brother is! (name) can’t fight. (name) can’t take care of the heir to the draconia name.

Stepdadrry pleaseeeee ❤️❤️❤️❤️
A small little angsty blurb of harry having to deal with a moody child for the first time! enjoy!
Tumblr media
Being a dad is something harry has always wanted.
It’s something he’s dreamt about. So when he met you, it was like fate. You two had met at a museum, Y/N was doing the tours and harry was new to town. Harry had been looking for a home for quite a long time and finally found a good one. The only downside was it was in a small village — or maybe it was good. When Harry first moved, he realised everyone in the village knew everyone. So when Harry permanently moved in, he was the talk of the town.
It died down after a few weeks, but he felt like a proper celebrity.
After finding a job in a local café, Harry went exploring and came across Y/N’s small museum. It was nothing fancy, but it looked like the town came together and put this museum up with historical facts about the village. It was something super special, and harry was glad he got to be apart of this.
When he first saw Y/N, his heart practically burst out of his chest. Harry bit his lip and his eyes widened as she turned around from behind the desk. Her long hair was in neat braids, and she was wearing this beautiful yellow sun dress. Y/N had paint on her hands and arms and a flower tucked behind her ear. There was one word to describe Y/N and that word was; perfect.
“Are you new to town? I haven’t seen you around before” Y/N asked with a big smile, maybe because she was so excited a new person was here or because he was the most beautiful man she’d ever seen.
“Yeah, I moved here two weeks ago. You’re the first person to have an actual conversation with me” Harry said leaning against the wall. Y/N shook her head and took the flower out of her hair placing it on his harry coat pocket.
“Well, aren’t you lucky?”
And Harry was.
After asking her on a date he knew she was the one. Y/N is kind, selfless and so funny. He found is other match. On the third date, Y/N seemed nervous. Like she was itching to tell him something. Harry then started to get anxious, thinking this is it, this is the time she breaks up with me. So the night was tense, everyone felt it. When dinner was over, Harry drove you back to his and opened up a bottle of wine trying to ease the tension a little.
“I… I have to tell you something” Y/N said and put the glass of wine on the table. Harry nodded his head and took a deep breath in, preparing himself for the worst.
“I have a kid”
A kid?
Harry started to laugh.
“Baby, that’s what you were so afraid to tell me?” He giggled and Y/N nodded looking down at her feet. Harry sighed and placed his wine on the table, then lifting Y/N into his lap placing both of his hands on her cheeks.
“I do not care if you have children, Y/N. I like you and whatever comes with you. Tell me about them”
Y/N’s child is a boy, River, fours year old and a total sweetheart. He’s so smart and has the best manners. His dad is still in the picture, but he works a lot so he doesn’t get to see River as much as he’d like to. But there’s no bad blood between Y/N and River’s dad, the relationship just didn’t work out. But Y/N’s glad she’s gotten a second chance, because she’s found her soulmate. Some people aren’t ready to take on that role, and she’d never put anyone in that position unless they 110% ready for it. She knows River will absolutely love Harry.
Harry knew about River now, it was like a weight had lifted off of Y/N’s chest and she could fully relax now.
She wanted Harry to meet River as soon as possible, but she needed to wait it out a bit just in case something were to happen. She doesn’t want to introduce them and only for her and Harry to break up in a couple of weeks. It would be too confusing for everyone, so Harry and River didn’t meet until two months after Harry and Y/N made it official. Y/N had been dropping hints for those months, and River seems to like his dad’s girlfriend, so she thought now was the right time to do it.
“Hi buddy! I’m Harry” Harry introduced himself, giving River the teddy bear he picked up on the way here. Y/N smiled to herself as River hugged Harry. That surprised Harry a bit, but he quickly reciprocated the warm hug with a huge grin.
“You and mumma are together like daddy and Sandra?” River asked and Harry looked up to Y/N, she nodded.
“Yeah, we are together. Is that alright with you?”
River smiled and nodded, “Only if you watch Toy story with me.”
As time went on, River got more comfortable with Harry and vice versa. He didn’t call him dad or anything, nobody would force him to. But they do have special nicknames for each other and River once called Harry his best friend — which totally melted Y/N’s heart.
Harry is a such a great step dad. Y/N could ask for anyone better. He constantly supports Y/N and River in everything, and is just the best person to be around.
Harry and Y/N got married two years into their relationship when River turned six.
It’s been a tough year for River, since he just started school and is finding it hard to make friends. Y/N has talked to the school and they’ve said that this is very normal, and they’re going to encourage him and look after him every step of the way. Y/N has been looking for play therapists for days, but she’s still not sure on the idea.
But River has been acting out. Taking it out on Y/N and not being very nice to her. Harry hates it, he’s tried to tell him off in the nicest way possible, but he’s just not cut out for being bad cop. Usually Y/N says she can handle it, and she does.
But today was different.
After dropping River off at school Y/N and Harry decided to go out for brunch. Y/N hasn’t been herself with River in a mood, so Harry wanted to treat his wife to something nice. Something to cheer her up a little.
“Nice to see you smiling,” Harry said kissing her temple.
“Just worried about him. He’s never been like this before.”
“How about I talk to him? Tell him his behaviour is unacceptable. I hate seeing you so upset, baby.” Harry said and Y/N sighed pecking his lips.
“His dad is away on a work thing, so I guess me and you and can talk to him together? I just don’t want him to think this behaviour is ok, but I just wish his dad was here more often” Y/N stressed, Harry pulled her chair closer to his, placing both of his hands on her cheeks calming her slightly.
“We’ll talk to him after dinner. Together.”
And so dinner finally came and Harry was a little nervous, he’s not going to lie. Usually if Rivers being bold Y/N handles it, but he’s not usually like this — but they get it, going to big school is a huge change. River just needs to know his behaviour is not acceptable, but if he ever needs to talk about anything then they’ll be here.
“River, Harry and I need to talk to you.” Y/N said as River tried to disappear up to his room.
River shrugged and continued to walking.
“Buddy, your mums talking to you” Harry said placing a hand on Y/N’s hand. River pouted, but still stood in his spot. “Why don’t you come back over and sit with us?” Harry said and River shook his head. Y/N sighed placing a hand on her forehead, blinking away the tears.
“Fine, we’ll do this here then.”
“There’s something going on with you and we want to help. Your behaviour has been unacceptable the last couple of weeks. We just want to know what’s going on, ok? Mummy and Harry are here to help.”
River groaned and walked towards the table. “I don’t want to talk.” He said and Y/N nodded.
“That’s ok. You don’t have to talk to us right now. But you need to know that you can’t be cheeky with us like that anymore. It’s upsetting, River. If it keeps going on, they’ll be punishments and you don’t like them do you?” Y/N said trying to reason with him.
River was having absolutely none of this. Harry could tell. He didn’t want to get in the middle of Y/N’s parenting, but he didn’t want them to fight or end up saying something they’d regret.
“Riv, we just want to help-“
“Stop talking to me, you’re not even my real dad. You’ll be out of here in no time” River yelled, running out of the room.
It was quiet and Harry let out a little laugh, Y/N placed a hand on his and started to profusely apologise.
“I’m so sorry, Harry. I don’t know what’s gotten into him, you were just trying to help I get that. I’m so sorry”
Harry shook his head and sighed, “He’s right, i’m not his real dad. Was just trying to deescalate the situation. Bad move on my part” Harry said throwing the napkin on his plate.
“No, this is not on you. You did the same exact thing I would’ve.”
Y/N went to move, but harry put his hand in the air. “He’s angry, let’s just leave him for a bit. Let him calm down, then i’ll go talk to him.”
“You’re a good dad, Harry.” Y/N said kissing his forehead before bringing the plates over to the sink.
Harry let River calm down for about 30 minutes and then made Y/N a cup of tea. He didn’t like her being so anxious. After that, he made his way upstairs to Rivers room. The door had a note on it saying “Harry and mummy keep out”. He laughed to himself, before knocking on the door. There was a small grumble, so harry let himself in and leaned against the door frame. River was playing with his toys like nothing happened.
“Wanna play with me Harry?” River asked passing him a toy.
Harry sighed and sat down next to River.
“You know what you said really hurt my feelings?” Harry said and River pouted.
“And you’re behaviour has really upset mummy. Made her cry.” Harry said and River put down his car toy. “Just don’t like the school. Makes me nervous.” River said and Harry nodded placing the boy in his lap.
“And why does it make you nervous?”
“Because no one wants to be my friend, Harry.”
Harry sighed and kissed Rivers head.
“You know, me and mummy are going to go up to the school and yell so loud at the teachers” Harry joked and River giggled into harry’s chest.
“Harry?”
“Yeah?”
“I’m sorry i said you’re not my real dad. You are my dad.” River said and Harrys eyes filled up with tears.
“I love you, River”
“Love you too”
“Now let’s go give mumma a kiss before she gets jealous.”
