What to Expect When Your Friend Dies: A Comprehensive List

Your friends will call you and ask you how you’re doing. They will tell you how sorry they are and to let them know if there is anything that they can do for you. People you haven’t spoken to in years will reach out to you and tell you the same thing. All of their insincere words and promises will make you angry beyond your understanding, and they will for a long time.

You will see your friend’s mom a few days after the funeral. She will hold you for a very long time and cry. You will feel guilty about mourning and being angry, because how could you even begin to understand what she is experiencing?

You will not cry. You will not understand why you do not cry. You will hate yourself for not being able to.

You will feel completely alone. Your experience knowing them was so complicated and unique that you will feel angry whenever others tell you about their experiences with them because nobody else could possibly understand what you went through with them. You will feel extremely guilty about being angry.

You will be angry at Them. Angry at everything they never apologized for, everything they ever put you through that was never resolved, and angry at everything they put me, family, and friends through After. The guilt for this will be debilitating. You will learn that guilt seems to be the underlying symptom of your grief.

You will begin talking to a therapist. You will tell your therapist about why you sought him out, but for months you will constantly skirt around the topic because even thinking about them makes you sick.

Everything will remind you of them, but especially the music you listened to together. You will never listen to your favorite songs quite the same.

You will begin to heal. It will all start to feel more real, but it will also start to feel like life will continue, regardless of their absence. You will stop being so angry.

You will begin to read philosophy. You will begin a year-long search for the meaning of it all. You will find it. You will learn to be much happier than you had ever been Before. You will wonder why They couldn’t do the same. You will recall the time you felt like you were in a deep rut, just as They probably were. You will recall that the Hotline put you on hold when you were at your lowest. You will have more empathy.

Finally, you will become a better person. You will learn to cherish and value humanity and the experiences you have. You will come to understand the value of life, and you will hold on to everything and everyone around you a little bit tighter than you did Before. You will briefly feel guilty that it took their death to understand this, but you will learn to let go of your guilt and replace it with thankfulness that you learned how to be better.

powerpuffs save the day yes they do yes ma’am 😌

when faced with a problem, she will almost always react violently, whether physically or verbally. she takes things more seriously than her sisters, was very proud, so she also took things more personally.

she also grew up quite cruel (poor brynne), and short-tempered.

as a kid and a teenager, the only people who would call her out on her behaviour was her sisters and the professor. people reprimanded her at school and if she did something completely rude, but people were too often scared of her to actually try and stop.

according to teachers, she was a bad student (restless, rude, didn’t pay attention, you name it) in school and didn’t have many close friends. she constantly heard everyone else praising beverly and brynne for their intelligence or kindness. as much as she loves her sisters, she always resented being compared to them.

she found that the main way she got positive reactions from people was when she defeated villains. so she focused on becoming the best fighter among her siblings.

she trained for martial arts, not wanting to just rely on her strength. she also wanted to keep in great physical shape, so she began working out.

and for a while, this got her a lot of praise. she defeated bad guys so easily! but at what cost? there was also a lot of destruction left in the wake of a fight with a bad guy. in beatrix’s eyes, most of it was necessary. how else was she supposed to defeat a 60ft robot? quietly?

but around her 18th birthday, she really started to let her resentment get the better of her. with everyone else growing up and figuring out their future, she suddenly felt so limited in what she could do. she was never smart enough, kind enough, pretty enough, creative enough ... what else was left? fighting.

she wanted to defeat MORE villains, in RECORD time too. so she got more ruthless.

coming to elias !!

hearing that beverly wanted to quit and start a new life enraged, shook, and scared beatrix. because she knew that once beverly made this decision, everyone would want to follow, and she would have no choice but to do it.

OOC note: she tells herself that it’s all beverly’s fault but honestly, i think in due time, the professor and her family would be okay with beatrix being a solo superhero. the problem is, there is a part of beatrix (a big secret part) that can’t see herself being a superhero without her siblings. she feels that she needs them otherwise she’s going to go overboard; they ground her and balance her out. if she fights without them, like she has tried to in the past ... then it won’t be the same.

she feels she won’t be loved the same.

just before moving to elias, she encounters one of the big villains in townsville. distracted and wanting a way to unleash her repressed fear and anger ... she engages in a fight with him that leaves him worse for wear (it is VERY bad).

this experience makes beatrix feel disgusted with herself.

but she overhears people saying that she went too far ... but also ... at least now the villain won’t be around anymore. ***** MORE ON THIS LATEER

professor utonium is, understandably, very concerned. he’s worried about beatrix and if she’ll be okay in elias. he arranges for beatrix to attend weekly therapy sessions, and she surprisingly agrees. there’s ... a lot to think about.

he also wants her to find an activity that is artistic and doesn’t involve some kind of violent competition or high-levels of physical exertion.

suggestions include: painting, tai chi, pottery, poetry-readings, music...

beatrix is ...................... thinking about it ..............

so we gotta talk about mental state ... !!

it’s not looking good at all for miss beatrix’s mental state

FEAR rules her life, not desire for anything. while serena might want freedom, and belle might want adventure, beatrix fears losing everything she has. she fears living without her sisters, she fears living without praise, she fears being nothing if she’s not a superhero, she fears one day losing her powers for some reason and then just being nothing.

she fears mediocrity and invisibility.

she thrives off of applause and praise and smiles, and she practically lives off of what people think of her. not individuals, but the mass.

“do the people of townsville like me? do they love me?”

it’s specifically townsville because they are her people, that’s her city. they’re the ones she’s been saving since she’s been a kid, so it’s only their opinion that truly matters to her. she has to be someone good in townsville. she has to be great for them.

so now moving to a city where a LOT of people are exceptional ... it’ll be interesting.

i think she will be excited to wrestle with people lmao, she’s not going to be jealous or intimidated because she’s got too much of an ego for that. she’ll just want to see what everyone can do and then also show off what SHE can do.

The Music Man is a 1962 American musical film directed and produced by Morton DaCosta, based on Meredith Willson's 1957 Broadway musical of the same name, which DaCosta also directed. Robert Preston reprises the title role from the stage version, starring alongside Shirley Jones, Buddy Hackett, Hermione Gingold, Ronny Howard, and Paul Ford.

 Released by Warner Bros. on June 19, 1962, the film was one of the biggest hits of the year and was widely acclaimed by critics. It was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, with composer Ray Heindorf winning Best Music, Scoring of Music, Adaptation or Treatment. The film also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, and Preston and Jones were both nominated in their respective acting categories. In 2005, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

 Island of Love is a 1963 American comedy film directed by Morton DaCosta and written by David R. Schwartz. The film stars Robert Preston, Tony Randall, Giorgia Moll, Walter Matthau, Betty Bruce and Vassili Lambrinos. The film was released by Warner Bros. on June 12, 1963.

For context, Geraldine is a Peter Kay character who won a parody X Factor type show, where instead of being a singing competition, it was essentially a competition of which contestant had the most tragic backstory. Geraldine is a TIM and this would probably get dragged for being transphobic now lol)

So my funny experience today as someone na no date since birth (which I would not consider this counted as a date huhu please naman). Sobrang parangnbumaliktad sikmura ko talaga nung before kami mag meet dahil sa kaba ko.

So ang meet up ko nga pala today is this cute aviation guy, tadaaaa. Surprise surprise. Well, me too! I was too stunned to speak kasi ang pogi niya. Ang cute niya. That's the exact word. Ang pleasing sa mata ko nung mukha niya.

But the thing is, the only thing I wanted to rant about tonight is yung fact na ako nagbayad ng dinner namin ;(( That's a turn off for me tbh. Ayokong ikwento sa mga friends at pinsan ko kasi babatukan talaga ako ng mga yun. Ilang beses na nila akong pinagsabihan that when the time comes I shouldn't be the one paying for the first meal lalo na siya nag-aya, nag suggest lang ako ng which place dito samin. Kaya rin siguro parang iba yung feeling kanina (I was TOO comfortable, not even conscious sa appearance ko or what) compared to what I felt nung crush ko pa si ano. Less intense, the big gap/difference is obvious.

He was still shy in person pero hindi ganun ka timid unlike sa chat na one liner and direct to the point talaga sumagot. And mabagal sumagot, may I add. Pero I don't know, I feel like totoo naman na busy lang siya. Kasi mabilis naman siya magreply pag may time.

Ngayon ang naooverthink ko lang eh yung sinabi ni geraldine na downside dahil nga sa tinder kami nagkakilala so idk if ako lang ba kausap niya or hindi. Diba??? May point. Di ko natanong yun. Now nagooverthink sko kung personality niya lang ba na timid siya or sadyang di lang siya interesado. Right?

That's bad tho, kung gagawin niya man yan then go. Kasi feeling ko marami na akong natutunan kay u1 for the past year para masabi ko na I know how to treat a person right. And the every night podcast namim help to build that strong foundation na makapag build ng bond sa ibang tao.

So I know na I'm a gold. And I don't deserve anything less.

Cine: No me las toquen (2018)

Amigas desde la más tierna infancia, Julie Decker (Kathryn Newton), Kayla Mannes (Geraldine Viswanathan) y Sam Lockwood (Gideon Adlon) planean perder su virginidad la noche de la fiesta de graduación. Nada que no hayan contado antes películas como "American Pie" (1999) o "Another Gay Movie" (2006), salvo que esta vez son sus padres (interpretados por Leslie Mann, John Cena y Ike Barinholtz respectivamente) los que, enterados de la situación, deciden unirse, poner manos a la obra y evitar que esto suceda.

Saben que los acompañantes de sus niñas (Graham Phillips, Miles Robbins y Jimmy Bellinger) son los que consumarán el debut sexual y, salvo el padre de Sam (consciente de que su hija es lesbiana), el resto está muy preocupado, además, por el ingreso a la Universidad.

Dirigida por Kay Cannon y producida por el actor Seth Rogen y Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg (creadores de la muy exitosa serie "Cobra Kai"), "Blockers", también conocida en Latinoamérica como "No me las toquen" (el título original refiere al argot que expresa a quienes quieren impedir que una persona tenga relaciones sexuales), es una de esas comedias picantes como las ya mencionadas en la que el foco está puesto en el estilo de vida y forma de ejercer la sexualidad de los adolescentes del siglo XXI.
