Hi! I'm a beginner to Hellenic Polytheism. I tried to find basics and stuff, but I never talked to Hellenic polytheists.

I wanted to ask about the basics and especially your relationship with fandoms made from greek mythology — Percy Jackson and other. I saw some hate people in those fandoms, and that makes me really unsure of how to worship and also be a part of this religion.

Remember a respectful relationship with the Theoi (Gods). GODS AREN'T THEIR MYTHS. To learn about the Theoi, you can check out theoi.com which is excellent. Also books like Hesiod's Theogeny, Illiad and Homeric hymns. But remember...AVOID OVID AT ALL COSTS PLEASE. Because He's a Roman poet and his poetry was influential during the Renaissance, which included mythification of the Gods. The result of which is fandoms like Percy Jackson. These myths are what makes up "the Greek Mythology". But these myths aren't the gods. To know the Gods, we must clear our mind from these myths first- some of which describes certain Gods and goddesses as "evil".

Start learning about the the history of the Gods. Their are different classes of Gods like Titans, Primordial and Olympians. Check this out in theoi.com Research the offerings you can make. Remember the Gods won't be angry at you unless ofc you do smtg gravely heinous or disrespect any of them. Also numerous offerings are not at all necessary. Just a fresh glass of water everyday is enough if you have problem making regular offerings. You can include candles and incense and that's it the Theoi are content. Advisable to clean and tidy before starting worship- doesn't mean you'll have to take a bath everytime before praying. Just washing your hands is enough. You can offer certain objects to the Gods to enchant them. Like i plan to gave a clawclip to Hera and request her to bless it.

You might stumble across phrases as "working with". Don't worry. If you work or don't work with a certain deity, doesn't mean you're any less. Simple devotion and even that is cherished by the gods. Working with a theoi simply means having assistance of a certain Gods or Goddess to achieve smtg personal. Worshipping...is just fine.

Next, you can use a necklace as a pendulum if tarot and oracle cards isn't an option in receiving guidance or answers from the Theoi. Start recording your research work in journals. Write some poems and prayer. Doesn't have to be flowery. Simple appreciation of the Theoi, their praises, or a request for their guidance can be prayers as well. Good at art? Offer your drawings.

Lastly if you have trouble setting physical shrines or kharis, worry not. Set up digital shrines. For that you can use the "collage" feature of pinterest or draw one in digital art apps. Physical offerings are a trouble? Make digital ones where there's no limitation. Pictures of offerings like fruits, beverages, baked goods and all, animal correspondences, EVERYTHING. You can make a digital shrine blog like this one or create boards on Pinterest for the Theoi and save pictures that you feel like. Acts of services are as much an offering as food. Engage in books for Athena, create something in honour of Hephaestus, learn about herbs and their uses for Apollo, appreciate art for Dionysus, help elders in the name of Hera and Zeus cuz they are the protectors. Take care of yourself for Aphrodite, laugh for Hermes, condemn wrong to the society in the name of Ares. And that's just enough devotion as someone who makes physical offerings. Honour the Theoi in the daily life.

Keep learning, cuz there's no stop to that and always be respectful for its the most important aspect of any religion. Comparing who's stronger, who's good bad...nope!! That's what the ones who read "mythology" do. We? We are not mythology students but devotees. And for us, The THEOI are way more glorious than their itsy bitsy myths. The Theoi aren't their myths and this is an ancient religion and not just mythology.

Hello Cin. I was wondering how you find / make the time to post so often and consistently while working and managing real life. Do you have a schedule you stick to in real life that helps? I really am struggling to even keep up with my gameplay let alone a story! Thanks!

Hey friend!! You know I got an ask just like this about a year ago when I was posting everyday!! The biggest thing is, during that time, I had anywhere from 2 to 3 days of updates in my drafts! I'd love to get back there again! It was easier then because the focus of the story was Hope and Jayce and their love story so not a lot of switching households etc.

These days with more going on, and just being busier in general, I've been able to find a posting schedule that works for me. Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (this week is an exception because it was Anniversary Week!). Having a schedule like this (it can be just twice a week sometimes) helps keep things manageable.

I play mostly at night and on the weekends and whenever I find time. I save editing for the morning before I post while I enjoy my morning coffee and sick ass playlists.

Writing is a hobby that is calming and that I find pleasure in, so I make time for it. Its very easy to get innundated with real life. It can be overwhelming for all of us. Demanding jobs, kids, spouses, pets, friends, other social media, being broke, paying bills, all of that can leave us with zero time to do anything that we love. If we don't make time for our hobbies, what even is life? Sorry for the soapbox but I can't stress enough the need to make time for things you love.

But it’s just some minor stuff you know since this is taking place BEFORE the disaster that caused garden view to close, but its gonna be awhile before that comes ^^

So new characters will be introduced at some point, a new saga might happened, some little adventures here and there, and my favourite idea: going outside garden view✨

But for now all you guys need to know is that I’m getting some of my inspiration from BATIM (bendy and the ink machine), since there’s this ichor (which literally translate to blood of the gods) so that must be important, and there’s Bendy the INK demon..

and whenever a toon dies in game they splatter into ichor, so the connections between DW and BATIM is quite heavy to me; but the lore of Dandy’s world is yet to be revealed fully..

I have both other sans OCs as well as other non-sans OCs!

(The non-sans OCs drawings will be in a different post since i cant fit all of it here as i also want to ramble a bit about their respective worlds.)

However! These other OCs arent as “fleshed out” as my main focus, Void!sans, but i can still make up things along the way. I still have small key factors about them!

Sadly though, most of these sans OCs are sometimes when i subconsciously think of another sanses personality which makes it so it mirrors onto the my sansOCs.

Which is not the best thing. So i just have to make them more unique along the way

I dunno if this is too personal (ignore if it is) but do mean people go into details about gay sex to you because I feel like whenever I read a thread discoursing about homosexuality, esp straight men always have to bring up "poop shit poop shit" "no sensible man would dip his dick in poop" etc. etc. it gets old but I wonder if gay men have to hear that in person too often

Anyway, that's historically been my experience, yes. It's one of the main pillars of homophobic talk you'll actually hear. Some people skip the High Arcana Discourse or theological complexities and just go for the gut

It surprises me how often people don't know this, not meaning to attack you anon (this question came up with some friends as well). But yeah, a lot of people don't go for the high road of academic discourse or holy theology. It's easier to just say we literally eat shit and collect STD's by breathing

hiii I have a question about prayers so I know that if you go to pray or offer something you have to clean yourself basically wash your hands but like what if I'm in a car for example I can't do that and I wanna pray maybe for something or I wanna devote something I'm doing can I not do it unless I have found a way to wash my hands? I'm sorry if this is worded badly feel free to ignore this

Yep! Sensible question and it was just yesterday I was looking into miasma and khernips.

So basically if my research work has been correct, I'd tell you that ancient Greek devotees used to wash their hands or take a bath to remove the miasma clogging them. Now coming to what miasma is (ignore if you know)? It's just not physical dirt or pollution, it's a spiritual clogging which prevents one from paying their undivided attention to the Gods while worshipping. It could be death of a near one or a pet that makes us grieve as a result of which we might not be able to dedicate completely to the theoi. Or say suppose a bleeding cut which actually aches. In that case many would say blood is the miasma here. So what do we do? We wash to wound and wait for the bleeding to stop. Another explanation of this could be that the mild/ grave pain caused by a bleeding cut or wound poses a hindrance at worshipping the gods because a part of our attention remains on the pain. I'd make a post on this in detail later.

Now coming to the car thing. If you've not visited the graveyard or hospital (unless it ones daily profession) spiritual miasma clings. Think of it as negative energy residuals. Hospital is a place where more or less everyone is sad. Graveyard is a place where everyone is grieving. We're bound to be affected even if by a small ounce by these negative feelings. That is miasma and is better to be cleansed. In this case, it is advisable to cleanse yourself.

But speaking on normal day scenarios if you're just travelling and feel like praying you can! Doesn't matter if it's a train, bus or car. If you feel completely devoted to the Theoi at the moment, just pray! The Gods won't be mad at all. Infact they'd be happy.

Think of it like you being a host of your guests at your house. Say suppose you're working in your garden and your guests arrive. What do you do first? You get in, wash your hands and offer them refreshments. Now another day say suppose you're stacking the dried dishes on the wrack and some relative stops by. First instinct tells us to offer them the refreshments. Its just about cleanliness. When you feel like maybe some dust or something has actually made your hands dirty or soiled and from within you feel like it's better not to pray or give offerings to the Gods, listen to yourself then. And if as you say while being in a car, you sincerely want to perform devotional acts like praying and offerings, you can do that then too! Not that you'll always and mandatorily have to wash your hands and cleanse yourself.

A lovely name in my opinion and I want to extrapolate on why since I do enjoy understanding why things are pleasing and work.

Firstly it is two syllables which means it has nice mouth feel, you can break it down into just Nai for a nickname. It also flows well so there is no choppiness that comes from some consonant combinations (though that is cause there is 3 vowels).

Overall it is nice and feels and unique; 8/10.
