▪︎ REDESIGNING GRANDMASTER GLITCH

Part Three of my Go Jetters Re-Imagined / Redesigned series, and for now, the last adult character- its time for the one and only, Grandmaster Glitch !! It was a very fun opportunity to finally get to try my hand at redesigning the series' main villain, so I really wanted to go all-out on making a visually unique answer dynamic design, that really screams "Grandmaster Glitch", inside and out.

For my design, I decided to take cues from 70s and 80s cartoon villains, from series such as Masters of the Universe, Transformers, and TMNT. The idea was for the outfit to appear more menacing than Glitch himself, with sharp and square shapes, which convey his villainy, contrasting with his much more goofy, and misunderstood personality traits. His design is also meant to look a little bit like it could have been based off an old Go Jetters' uniform- as Glitch was an expelled ex-student. I'd like to think that he modelled the base suit from his old Jetter suit from the 80s, changing every little detail to eventually end up with what he got. It's definitely a home-made job, regardless. I also took some steam punk influence into consideration for this design, with the mechanical and metal details reflecting that part of his style, and calling back to the similar nature of his inventions.

Glitch's 70s - 80s villain inspired look is meant to contrast and rival Ubercorn and Jett's designs, which take influences from a different part of the same era, which better helps to identify them all as the "adults" of the cast, if their general personalities and demeanour did not do so already. I also tried to physically age Glitch a little from my last designs, making him truly look like a man having his evil mid-life crisis / power trip. I like to think that he wears his helmet at all times, because he's started balding underneath and he's rather self-conscious about it, and how it "ruins his image". I also kept his jet-pack's wings- which are retractable !! And that's my design deep dive !! ♡♡

Once again, I am SO-SO incredibly proud of how this design turned out, and I really think it's an improvement over my last Glitch designs. Nice to see him finally looking his age. Some art I did of my second-favourite cbeebies show!!!! (Go jetters).

Seriously though this show is genuinely brilliant, and it's so annoying that there's seemingly no future series coming out. I have been a big fan of the show since the day it aired (I remember waiting for about 3 hours infront of the telly just for it to start for the first time lol), and proceeded to have a huge obsession with it for about 2 years!!

Ubercorn is my fave, he is so awesome and lovely (and pretty much canoniclly gay at this point, which is awesome!!!). He is also extremely fun to draw which is cool.

Also I found a GJ magazine in a shop last year with the sweetest little grimbot toy in it aswell as glitch, and the grimbler (I think that's its name, it's the small ship he rides in), so I absolutely had to get it!! The magazine also had some very cool stickers in it which was awesome.

Here we have the cover and the back cover :33 our kids are proudly displayed on the front, (I'm actually very very happily surprised that they included tala, thank goodness. Her face was covered by the gift included with the magazine taped to the cover.) And old man yaoi is featured on the back. Absolutely wonderful I love all of these characters so fucking much

while I have the attention of the GJ community here: silly episode concept that I thought of

general plot would be the group heading to harajuku district/shopping street to try on the fashion that the district's renowned for and glitch stirs up some problems BUT. they accidentally leave their suits/belongings in the shop they loaned the outfits from for safekeeping

so now they have to use the general environment and overall skills (maybe some aspects of their outfits too?) to set everything back in order

this is honestly just an excuse to see the gang in neat outfits, im not sorry for this

I'm composing this semi-late night (for me at least) ask to inform you that I listened to your total swarm for young men album a couple days ago and I very much liked it. this was surprising to me as the album was not anything like my normal taste in music and I was not expecting to like it (because let's be real I got here from tumblr) but fortunately it's both very very weird and filled with absolute bangers so gj 10/10 5 stars. since this is so far outside of my normal arena I would also like to ask what genre/s you would say the water gun water gun sky attack stuff is and what you would say your major influences are as a musician? au revoir

usually people seem to put me in the "post-punk" or "art punk" genres which are very bad names for genres but they work fine. my sound design is influenced by a lot of glitch / experimental electronic stuff, because I think the current state of the art in post-punk is stuck on the ol guitar-bass-drums sound which is boring

biggest songwriting influences are protomartyr (listen to relatives in descent) and tropical fuck storm (listen to Braindrops). Biggest sound design influence and fav band of all time is autechre, who do mind-bending glitchy things so far in the future nobody else is even close (listen to literally anything they have made after 2012)

Ending Of Bugbo Idea

So, like... What if the ending of Bugbo is them going on a random adventure, but the gang gets into a fight, and they split up or something for a while, but something happens, which causes the world starts glitching out or something, leading to Bugbo having to band together with Thomas to stop the glitch, and as time goes by, GJ and Gerbo are trying to find Bugbo to possibly apologize to him, but soon notice the glitch themselves, causing them to realize something is not right in their world, and what they don't know is that they're glitching out themselves. Bugbo and Thomas find the cause of the glitch, as well as GJ and Gerbo after accidently running into Bugbo, and they find out the reason of the glitch while on their mission, but everything goes to hell real quick. GJ and Gerbo start glitching out more, causing Bugbo to start worrying, then freak out when Thomas does the same, who was hiding it from everybody. Everything starts fading away in their world, nothing but a black void consuming it, causing Bugbo to hold onto his friends and apologize to them, while they do the same, then they disappear. Soon enough, Bugbo has a full on mental breakdown, so he turns to try screen and yells at the viewer, since he knew that were there, tears streaming down his face as he gets closer to the screen, smashing his fist against it, and breaking out of the screen, escaping his dying universe.

Alright I've got a crack theory for Go Jetters: Go Jetters is set in a world in which the SCP Foundation is in a Broken Masquerade situation (a Broken Masquerade situation is when the SCP Foundation steps out the shadows and show themselves to the public). In the Go Jetter universe, the Broken Masquerade of the Foundation went well, people adjusting to the knowledge of anomalous creatures, humans and advanced technology.

Since the Foundation can go through their staff members too quickly (containment breeches, freak accidents, etc) the Go Jetters are set up to train the best of best recruits from a young age and to hopefully bring them into the Foundation.

Since the Broken Masquerade took place, anomlous humans and humanoids are allowed to roam freely as long as they pose no threat to anyone. Ubercorn is one of these anomalies used to be held by the Foundation, but from a young age the Broken Masquerade situation took place and Ubercorn and his people could freely go anywhere in the world.

The categories that you get placed in determine which MTF group your assigned to, what your going to be research in when joining the Foundation, or if your anomlous yourself. Of course, the Foundation doesn't force it's Go Jetters to become Foundation members, but keeps a careful eye on the Go Jetter Academy graduate as they could join a Group of Interest with their advanced knowledge of the anomlous.

I’ve always found the way the Go Jet Academy is structured to be really fascinating, especially in terms of the focuses- or really, the lack of them. Canonically speaking, there are only 5 (Pilot, Sport, Engineer, Strat, Ecology), and that already doesn’t match up with the much wider variety of staff we see on-campus, as well as the studies and teachings going on. So I wanted to take a crack at expanding upon the idea a little bit, by changing one factor- broadness.

The names used for the GJA tracks are never really consistent- Lars’ focus has been listed as engineering and mechanics in different places, and Foz’s has gone from “genius”, to “science”, depending where you look. Not to mention, the pitch bible also calls Lars a botanist, while in s3 Tala is introduced as an ecologist. So what’s the fix? Changing the wording, because technically, canon never actually defines these boxes, and how tight or broad they are.

Instead of hyper-specific roles, my pitch is that each colour of uniform indicates a “track”- a broad group of studies, each of which revolve around a particular topic. Each track links back to the Academy’s goal, of learning about the Earth, and helping to preserve it. This allows for two cadets to be under the same track, but studying two different things, kind of like a “major” system !

I also wanted to add more tracks alongside the original ones- there’s no way the Academy doesn’t teach more, and these are just some of my ideas for other fields of study, as well as their associated colours and logos. Some of these tracks come from the fact that we see teachers for them, others felt like a natural fit for the academy based off of canon context, and episodes.

So er...was playing Among Us as imposter and me, Brown, and Blue agreed to vote out Orange when there were four people left...

When there is only one Crewmate and Impostor, the game ends 'cause no one can get voted out...

Expect, this time, when I killed Brown before they started a meeting, the game didn't end, even though there were two people left...Blue was literally right there when I killed so they reported the body...

So I got ejected...but the game was glitched. There was just a grey screen instead of, (on my end): DEFEAT: QUIT, PLAY AGAIN and everyone (I assume. This includes me) had to leave, XP

SDR2 but it takes place in Fallout 76 and oh dear lord they never fixed the bugs. (and there are so many of them)

As a person who played 76 on his PS4 kinda recently, they fixed everything but the biggest issue. 

They haven’t fixed the game not being fun.

somebody commented this on my Popular Post™ about gj and i just. i am trying to articulate why i don’t like it.

i had someone say to me once, about another scene in a different show where a masc woman is shown in a dress, that it was “important” because “she gets to feel pretty.” when they said that, i felt a gulf of difference between them and me, because as a masculine woman myself, all i could picture was myself in that dress, and how ugly i would feel. not an “ugly” about beauty norms, although, hey, maybe that too--i’m as prone to badfeels about my fat rolls as anyone else. but an “ugly” that was, specifically, about not being me.

i don’t know many butch or masc women who would really care about looking as “gorgeous” in a dress as they did in a suit because of how uncomfortable and unhappy they would be in a dress in the first place--because of how ugly they would feel on the inside, no matter what people saw on the outside. i think, too, about the years i spent trying to be more feminine, and how fake i felt; that sensation of self-surveillance, and deep anxiety that i was failing a test i couldn’t have begun to study for. i felt ugly, even if i wasn’t ugly.

i just feel like there’s this glitch in people’s empathy when it comes to masc women and self-presentation. i’m trying to think of how to further explain and i’m not settling on anything satisfying so i’ll stop here, but. yeah.
