Phanar Greek Orthodox College or Phanar Roman Orthodox Lyceum, known in Greek as the Great School of the Nation and Patriarchal Academy of Constantinople (Greek: Μεγάλη του Γένους Σχολή, Megáli toú Genous Scholí), is the oldest surviving and most prestigious Greek Orthodox school in Istanbul, Turkey. The school, like all minority schools in Turkey, is a secular school.

That beautiful feeling when you look at your grades and realise even though you haven't done a lick of studying the entire year, that you are going to pass.

Apparently there's this trend on tiktok, when someone goes and ask their classmates "Who do you think is the best looking at school?" They say a name and then they go and ask the "best looking kid" do you know X? How much would you rate them?
And today a girl from my class decided to do it lol
I wanna see the results
I saw her walking around with the phone and before, when we were in class, she said she wanted to ask kids that she knew "had something" going on so she could help them start dating
Προξενήτρα if you will, idk how to say it in English

If my mom sees a significant amount of blood she gets lightheaded, and has fainted on some occasions. Once it happened when we were kids, I wasn't there to witness it but I heard the story from my dad. Basically my brothers, around 7 or 8 at the time, were playing outside while my mom was making their lunch, and she accidentally cut her finger. It wasn't anything serious, but it drew a fair bit of blood and she passed out. My dad saw this and rushed over, but he didn't really know what to do so he just sort of started slapping her to wake her up (not recommended, but he had no idea and panicked)
At that exact moment my brothers both came in from playing, and all they saw was our mom unconscious on the floor and our dad slapping her. So, like, without even saying a word to each other they both just INSTANTLY start whaling on him, like, full blown attack mode to defend our mom. Which obviously didn't help the situation, but she did wake up and everything was fine.
Now our dad says that he's actually really glad they attacked him over what they thought was going on, because it means he raised good boys. And I still think that's true, they're very good boys.

It saddens me that Helen of SPARTA is mostly known as Helen of TROY. As if she wasn't born, raised, and most likely, died in Sparta. Yes, she was of TROY for a while...But she was able to go back home to where she WANTED TO BE.
(Edit: Hating on Menelaus is illegal)

You know, one thing I haven't seen any Ratiorine fans take advantage of is that Aventurine is very specifically inspired by the Turkish Romani population, while Ratio clearly has Greek/Roman influence--both countries with long and often complicated histories with Turkey.
Everyone craving those sci-fi AUs, but where are my historical AUs at?
Where are all the "We come from rival nations but still found each other!" Romeo and Juliet-level dramas???
Where are all my period pieces with the fall of the Byzantine Empire for background flavor???
Where are all my "I am but a traveling scholar," "You're more like a fish out of water, friend!" strangers-to-lovers riding off into the desert sunset stories???
Come on, help a girl out!

Jack decides he needs a bit of time away from family to mourn the loss of his one sided friendship with Vlad and Vlad's death. So he takes a trip to Gotham. On this trip, he runs into Damian and Tim, who are convinced he's Captain Marvel in disguise.
Meanwhile, Jason's also run into Jack as he's coming into his ghost powers. Jason starts freaking out because someone just saw him when his new powers started glitching. Panicking only worsens the situation as now he can't figure out how to get his foot un-caught in the cement.
Jack, despite not knowing if this kid is a halfa or not, decides to give him advice based on how Danny told him his powers work. It works.
Now, Jason has a sort-of mentor that he didn't ask for but definitely needs, and Jack has something to do while he sorts out his feelings on the whole Vlad-was-never-his-friend thing.
Eventually, Damian and Tim catch them while Jack is trying to explain how Jason might have a second form. While Jack explains, Jason just transforms. His ghost form isn't what either expected. Jack was expecting something similar to Danny's or Vlad's. Not a winged little kid with a mask.
To be honest, this just solidifies that this guy is Captain Marvel for Damian and Tim. Obviously he decided to teach Jason magic.

with every passing minute that I think about it, I feel absolutely gut-punched by how well edwin and charles' story fits the myth of hero and leander. It's like an alternate universe where they didn't make it but in a different than Orpheus and Eurydice
will be explained at a later date, I need to process
