Good Leaders Must First be Good Servants:
The terms servant and leader are considered opposites of each other but the term "Servant Leadership", coined by Robert K. Greenleaf, means that one must first have a desire to serve others which then pushes to want to lead others. Matthew 20:25
To become a good servant leader, there are ten tenets that are integral. A person must have these qualities and habits deeply rooted in them first. They include:
Listening: This is a way to include everyone. It helps people feel that their input is worth something.
Empathy: Be able to understand what people are feeling or going through and relate to them.
Healing: Be able to play a role in helping people solve their problems and issues to help them become better.
Awareness: Knows the values and ethics the leader holds and how they are applicable in a situation.
Conceptualization: Know how to dream and be able to see the potential in a situation or an individual.
Foresight: See beyond the present and look into the future to be able to assess different outcomes from various actions that can be taken.
Persuasion: Does not bark orders or coerce but convinces. Aims at persuading and convincing people to go in a certain direction.
Stewardship: Overwhelming commitment to catering to the needs of others first. Thinks about the people and their needs.
Commitment to People's Growth: Has the personal and professional development of the people been improved?
Building Community: Looks beyond their own goals and dreams and to the goals of others as well as the organization's.

St. La Salle, an Inspiration
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Real wealth is the ability to think and to feel, not to be possessed by possession...”
 St. La Salle
As I was about to make this reflection paper, I’ve heard that there is a museum of St. La Salle located at DLSU library. As I went there, I’ve stumbled at a book about St. La Salle.  According to the book De La Salle, CEO, there are three characteristics a leader must possess. You have to be competent, credible and most importantly, have integrity. Being competent means you have to be knowledgeable and capable. Credibility means you have to perform. And integrity means you have to have values. These are the characteristics of St. John Baptist De La Salle. In addition, La Salle is a risk-taker, innovator, servant-leader and an innovator.
 Risk-Taker
St. La Salle’s life is all about taking risks. Before pursuing his passion of teaching, he had a comfortable and accomplished life. He came from a wealthy family. He had a name. He studied in the best schools. He was canonized by the Church. He had everything. But because of his passion to educate the poor, he gave up everything. Even though his family was against this, he still pursued his dream of giving an education to all: rich and poor. Because of this, he forever changed the education system.
In our business, which is an educational institution, we often find ourselves in a dilemma. We have to take into consideration both the financial and social responsibilities of running a school. Like what St. La Salle did, we also took a risk. It is expensive for someone to study in a Montessori school. But because of my father’s vision of providing education for all, we lowered down the tuition fee so even the less-privileged can afford to study in our institution. At first, this move has greatly affected us financially because of the less income we were receiving. But, as years went by, we started to earn more because of the increase of the population of our students and our family benefited from it. The risk taken was all worth it especially if your intentions are not for yourself but for the greater good of everyone.
Innovator
St. La Salle has revolutionized many things because of his innovative thinking. During his lifetime, he has achieved things that have change the way we live. His innovative thinking started because of his drive to improve the situation around him. During his lifetime, he experienced firsthand the poverty in his neighbourhood. He realize that the under privilege could not afford the education because of the system back then. Before he reformed the education system, teaching was done through tutorial. While a student was being taught, others would do other things while waiting. This means that formal education cannot be taught to all especially to the poor. That is why he introduced simultaneous way of teaching, to cater all students. Because of this innovation, it has change the education system forever and it is still applicable until today.
In business and in life, we often encounter problems. Sometimes, the solution you are looking is not given to you directly. You have to think outside the box. As leaders, we often encounter predicaments that hinder us to grow and prosper. By being innovative, we can find solutions to problems we encounter just like what La Salle did. And as leader, this would help us especially in making decisions that would greatly affect our business.
 Servant-Leader
“Servant leader is servant first...” Greenleaf, 1970, p15
He discovered the world of poor during a harsh winter of 1684-1685. He experienced first-hand the struggles of the less privilege in his community. He began to buy food for them, which led to him giving everything he owned. But giving everything he has was not enough. He had to find a real solution in improving the lives of the poor and he found out that education is the key. That is why La Salle change the education system by using simultaneous style of teaching which becomes one of his legacies.
Servant-leader: These two words are somewhat contradicting if you did not know the life of St. La Salle. In a worldly thinking, it is hard to combine being a leader and at the same time being a servant. Traditionally, if you are a leader, you are the one being served, not the other way around. But according searchio.techtarget.com, Servant leadership is a leadership philosophy built on the belief that the most effective leaders strive to serve others. By serving others (customers, employees, community), you help your company acquire loyalty from them and thus furthering your business.
Mentor
One of La Salle’s legacies is his mentorship of his teachers. That is why he established a school for teachers. He believed that in order for his vision of to succeed, He must train his followers to be competent and learn his ways. That is why he founded the Society of Brothers of Christian School Educators which vows for obedience and poverty. This ensures that even when he is gone, his life’s work and vision will continue.
Leaders will be those who empower others. These are the words of St. John Baptist De La Salle. As a La Sallian leader, it is important not only to follow an individual but follow the organization’s cause. In that way, even on his death, his life’s work and passion is still felt today. In relation to our school, my father always pass his knowledge to everyone around him. That is why when he died, our school still thrives on providing total quality education to others.

You Always Find Your Way Back Home part 2 - Thranduil x Reader-
Tumblr media
Part One Part Three Part Four Part Five
It was spring, the flowers were in full bloom, the trees were a deep green in health, and the Woodland Realm was peaceful and content, however, within the halls of the castle the throne room lay empty.
“King Thranduil, Queen ---” The servant halted in her step, a confused look crossing her features as she walked towards the guards. “Where is the King and his Lady?” She questioned them, holding a scroll between her slender fingers.
The guards broke their pose to look at the young woman, “My lord and my lady are in the Royal Garden with the Prince.” One answered stiffly, watching as the woman nodded before returning to their original pose.
Making her way to the doors of the royal garden, the servant quietly opened the door, not expecting the scene before her.
Thranduil was laying on the grass, his crown discarded a few feet away, using one elbow to prop himself up to watch the interaction of his wife and child. The queen laid flat on the grass with Legolas sitting up straight in her lap, playing with a dandelion he found.
“Are you going to make a wish my little Ionneg (son)?”  The queen questioned with a fond smile, reaching up to push some hair behind his ear. “You can make wishes with these??!” Legolas gasped as his eyes sparkled in childlike curiosity, holding the weed close to his face.
The couple laughed at their child before Thranduil spoke up “Yes you can, would you like me to show you how?” he said with a grin as he sat up fully, grabbing his own dandelion.
“An ngell nîn Ada! (Please father!)” Legolas pleaded, giving the puppy dog eyes while Thranduil just chuckled. “Alright Ionneg, watch carefully..” Thranduil said quietly, causing Legolas to grow serious. “Yes sir!”
“Alright..Now, step one, close your eyes and wish for something really really hard!” Thranduil coached, as the queen watched fondly while Legolas squeezed his eyes shut and got a serious pout on his face.
“Step two, breath in really deep, and blow all the seeds off the dandelion while thinking of your wish!” As soon as the words fell out of Thranduil’s mouth, Legolas was blowing on the dandelion so hard that his cheeks grew red.
“Did I do it right?” Legolas questioned, looking for praise as he held up the dandelion stem. The queen grinned and pulled her son into her embrace while tickling him. “You did wonderful!”
Legolas squealed and giggled wildly as the queen tickled him mercilessly.
“Ánin apsenë (Forgive me) for interrupting…” The servant called hesitantly, grabbing the attention of the couple. “Yes?” Thranduil addressed her, slowly moving to stand up. “You have a letter, your highness.” She bowed, holding the letter out to her lord. “Thank you, you are dismissed.” The servant nodded and bowed again before disappearing back into the kingdom.
“What is it my love?” The queen called, making her way over to her husband and wrapping her arms around his middle while Legolas continued to play with the flowers in wonder. Thranduil brought her around to his side, kissing her temple. “Let’s find out, shall we?” He mumbled before tugging open the letter.
Thranduil’s expression went from peaceful and calm, to annoyed and borderline raging. “It seems like our borders are becoming home to orcs..”
A frown crossed the queen’s face, “What would you like to do?” she questioned, looking over her shoulder to watch her son innocently chase butterflies. Thranduil slowly crumbled the letter, letting it fall to the ground. “We act.” He mumbled, letting go of his wife to march inside.
Sighing, the queen looked over at her son again “Come, let’s go inside now my greenleaf!” She called with fake cheerfulness, opening her arms for her son.
‘Let’s hope everything works out alright..’ She thought as she brought her son to his room for a nap.
“Watch over him please.” She called to the handmaid while leaving his bedroom after getting him to sleep. Walking down the hall, she heard Thranduil giving out orders for his soldiers while preparing his armor.
“Thranduil” She called out to him, grabbing his sword from the wall and bringing it over to him. “Stay safe..” The queen mumbled while cupping his cheek with her free hand. “I will my dear, you as well.” Thranduil said lovingly, taking her hand and giving it a kiss while looking into her eyes.
“Are you ready, sir?” The captain of the guard called, drawing Thranduil’s attention away from the queen. “I will return.” Thranduil declared, giving the queen a chaste kiss before taking his sword from her.
A pang of worry coursed through the queen and she watched the soldiers and her husband leave the safety of the kingdom doors.
.
.
.
.
.
What the soldiers weren’t prepared for, was the lack of orcs.
“Did Beorn lie to us, my lord?” The captain questioned, seeing no sign of any orcs along their border. “He wouldn’t.” Thranduil responded cooly. “Keep loo-” Thranduil was interrupted by an ear-piercing scream. Coming directly from the kingdom.
“No!” Thranduil screamed, ordering his men to turn back to the kingdom. His heart pounded in his chest, fear gripping and tugging at all of his organs.
Coming up to the kingdom doors, Thranduil struggled to comprehend the scene. Several guards lay dead in the pathway, followed with dead orcs scattering the halls. “FIND THE QUEEN AND MY SON!” Thranduil shouted, getting off of his stead and running to his son’s bedroom.
Legolas was crying in his crib when Thranduil arrived, a handmaid catering to him, she herself having tears rolling down her cheeks. “Ada!” Legolas mewled, pawing for his father. “Y-Your highness..” The handmaiden sniffled, giving Thranduil his son.
“Where is my wife?” He responded harshly, his voice thick with worry and fear.
“I h-haven’t seen her since the attack started..” The woman responded, trembling slightly while pointing down the hall.
Nodding, Thranduil handed Legolas back to handmaiden once he calmed down, and took off down the hall; unsheathing his sword.
Unbeknownst to the king, his queen was being dragged away to Gundabad by the surviving band of orcs. “You won’t get away with this..” She gasped out, holding in a noise of pain when they continued to drag her by the length of her hair.
Tumblr media
“We might..If you’re dead” One orc chuckled, licking his rotten teeth with a black tongue, a twisted smile crossing it’s face.
“Well that defeats your purpose of kidnapping me now doesn’t it!” The queen growled at the orc, blocking out the pain coming from her scalp.
The orcs collectively laughed, causing the queen to recoil in disgust. “All our boss said to do, was make the pointy-ear king suffer… Killing you should suffice enough..”
Gulping, the queen tried to control her erratic heart rate. Showing fear wouldn’t give her any mercy.
The orcs closed in on her, before a noise in the distance startled the orcs to lessen the grip on her head. Looking down at the coursing river below her feet. The queen made a choice. ‘If I die..I’m dying with my honor…’ She thought before she kicked the orc that was holding her and took the leap into the raging river. It all went black.
Beeeep. Beeeep. Beeeep.
Grunting the female scrunched her face, the noise of the heart monitor annoying her deep slumber. “Miss? Can you hear me?” The nurse called worriedly, the heart monitor speeding up as the woman couldn’t figure out what was going on and was beginning to get scared.
“If you can hear me miss, you’re in the hospital, you’ve had an accident. Everything will be alright!”
The woman opened her eyes to see a pristine white room, the light of it hurting her eyes causing her to shut them again. ‘You’ll be alright’ Played through the woman’s conscience as she struggled to stay awake, but eventually her eyes rolled to the back of her head, and she was out again.

Reed Diffusers Market Analysis, Size, Trends and Segmented Data by Top Companies, Opportunities, Sales Channels, Regions and Applications
Reed diffusers are a practical way of adding fragrance to a room. These days, reed diffusers are a popular segment in the home fragrance market. They are extremely easy to use - diffuser reeds are inserted into a ceramic or glass vessel of scented oil; the reeds soak up the scented oil and disperse a pleasant fragrance into the air. Reed diffusers provide a scent that is more consistent than scented candles. Unlike candles, reed diffusers are flame-free and do not require any heat. It is a safe alternative to scented candles, with no soot, wax, or ash to clean up. The reeds have a structure that provides a controlled rate of fragrance release.
Key factors driving the reed diffusers market include increased usage of reed diffusers at residential and commercial places such as corporate offices, homes, restaurants, and hotels. There is no direct side effect of these diffusers unlike when taken orally. This acts as a major driving factor for the reed diffusers market.
