Leatherworking projects progress shots!

These are all going to be used for my wife's Nott the Brave cosplay so she has stuff to put on her belts! The small tie pouch is for buttons to hand out and the potion holder will have some sort of fun magic looking potion (probably poison or acid, I want to paint or cricut a skull on the bottle very badly). The bigger bag is 8 inches, big enough to fit a phone which is always a big priority for me with cosplay design: where do I put a phone that's accessible but hidden/incorporated into the outfit. I also still have to make a flask holder belt attachment as well as the belts, but I'm going to be fabricating those patterns from scratch so I started with these to get back into leatherworking.

I've got my peices cut out with all the holes for stitches and rivets punched. Tonight I finished up burnishing the sides of the thicker leather so I can get started on sewing.

The leather I'm using for these projects are:

- 5-6 oz brown bridle veg tan leather for the pouch belt loop and potion holder (other than the long strap with the buckle which I WISH was 5-6 oz but is 8-9 oz because I didn't have a long enough material for that belt so now I need longer rivets in a few spots (╯°□°)╯︵ I do not recommend)

- 8-9 oz brown bridle veg tan leather for the structured parts of the 8 inch belt bag

- 2-3 oz vintage bomber chrome tan leather for the pouch and the soft/inside parts of the 8 inch belt bag

Patterns are from Tony Allen Bernier! I get my leather from The Leather Guy (tm) and hardware from The Buckle Guy (tm). I'm not affiliated with any of Those Guys (tm), I just think they are neat and have good stuff.

I'm thinking of writing up some more comprehensive getting started in leatherworking for cosplay guides, cosplay buy lists and how tos, or even distributing my own patterns I develop if there is interest!

WHOAH i’m a little bit late with this but I’m doing @shepscapades ‘s hermit design challenge! for this week I took the opportunity to draw dnd nonsense and drew the Clockers as a DnD party! Featuring: Bdubs the Halfling Barbarian! Cleo the Reborn Paladin! and Scar the Wood Elf Bard! Gonna be honest i was originally just gonna draw paladin cleo, but then i got inspired and did the whole clockers group  I’m so excited for this week’s prompt, for a lil sneak peak, i’ll be doing video game swap with Horizon: Forbidden Wilds! (I have so many ideas so I’m just gonna try to crank out as many hermits in H:FW as I can, and tbh I’ll probably keep drawing them after this week)
