(Im sorry for so many questions) Between Toshinori and Izuku, if one or the other died, who do you think would take it worse? And who do you think would handle the aftermath better? How do you think each of them would react to witnessing it/finding out?

What an interesting question!

There is the obvious answer that, if Toshinori died, Izuku would instantly get a Force Ghost version of him in his head to chat with forever and ever. He wouldn't be truly gone; he might even be able to be more accessible to Izuku than ever before. This would skew my answer a lot. While I think it would be really cool to see a story that explored the subtle pain and grief of "losing" someone in all aspects except for a mental projection, I'd rather just pretend that part doesn't apply here. Maybe OFA got destroyed, or Izuku passed it on to someone else. In that case…

Izuku's waterworks are one of his defining traits. He's gotten far more stoic over the years, but I am sure this would bypass all that progress. He would be inconsolable, losing the person who shaped his life since he was a baby.

At the same time, Izuku has spent the series growing a strong, healthy network of people who support him. He has family and teachers and friends. He'd cry, a lot, but he'd be able to do so on plenty of shoulders. And he has a lot going on in his life! He has a career to start, he has adulthood looming - he has so much to look forward to, and so much of it became possible thanks to Toshinori.

It would hurt each time he hit a milestone, I imagine - to get on the hero charts for the first time, or do his first big fundraiser, and not be able to share that success with the person who gave him the chance to do so. I would never say that a person's death is "good" for someone, but I think it would be something that spurred Izuku on. "I'm blessed to have been able to know him at all," I could see him saying. "He would want me to keep doing my best."

Izuku loves to ruminate. I am sure he'd never be able to fully stop wrestling over how he could have changed fate and been able to stay by Toshinori's side just a little longer. But everyone dies someday. Toshinori lived a long, full life, and left behind an incredible legacy, one that Izuku proudly helps keep alive in his stead.

Toshinori, I think, would look far less devastated by comparison. He is stoic and solution-focused. He would probably be comforting Izuku's friends and family and doing his best to fix things as best he could. That's what he loves, after all: being of service to others.

But Izuku's passing wouldn't feel like a neatly finished chapter in a book. Old people die, but young people aren't supposed to. Losing someone so bright and talented with so much ahead of him… what a senseless, unfair waste it would be.

And what a blow it would be to Toshinori. After everything he's been through, he finally found someone like him, someone with his heroic spirit, someone who changed his life and his whole way of thinking. He already lost his health, his quirk, and most of his life. To lose Izuku too, after all that, would be unimaginably painful and cruel. His brightest light, snuffed out too soon. And we know how much Toshinori beats himself up about not being able to save people.

Toshinori is a resilient person. He's been through tragedy before, and he bounced back. I don't think he'd break down and become a ruined hollow shell of his former self. But when it came to the private, unseen pain, I think Izuku's passing would harm him far more deeply than the inverse.

So it's interesting: I think Izuku would appear far more wrecked in the short term, but would ultimately heal and be able to carry on and live a full and rich life. Toshinori would seem far less affected, but it would be a crippling loss for him.

okay, monster!au characters reaction to Yuu(s) having hiccups. Like the high pitch squeaky toy type of hiccup. I feel like it would be seen as cute to concerning by everyone depending on how long they last.

Hiccups can be extremely annoying to the one experiencing them (and sometimes be painful), but highly entertaining to observers! 😆 I remember at one point that my nephew had a little trick to get someone to stop having the hiccups by asking them a completely random question, like, “What did you say about [insert random thing]?” and the sheer confusion and attempt to clarify what was going on would end up stopping the hiccups!

The trick kinda loses its effectiveness when you use the same phrase over and over again though, so shaking it up a little might work!

Anyway, it’s not uncommon for animals to get the hiccups either, though the pitch and duration will vary. As such, most monster species experiencing them tend to be less vocal than us humans. Now imagine that Yuu gets these high-pitched hiccups in the middle of class one day. >v>

Yuu: “First, we need…three grams of wild chicory.” *takes dish and pours contents into the cauldron* “Next, we need a—[hic!]”

Grim: “Need a what?”

Yuu: “We need a—[hic!]”

Grim: “Eh?”

Yuu: *getting frustrated* “Pass me the—[hic!]—the—[hic!]—oh for the love of—[HIC!!]—ow!”

Grim: “Fygah?!”

Deuce: “What was that?? Are you okay?!”

Yuu: “What? You mean the hi—[hic!]—ccups?”

Ace: “That’s what human hiccups sound like?”

Crewel: *stalks over* “Why are you pups yapping instead of working?”

Grim: “Yuu has the hiccups!”

Crewel: “Hiccups?”

Deuce: “They sound so…squeaky.”

Crewel: *looking concerned* “Do you need to go to the nurse?”

Yuu: “Yeah, like I said, it hap—[hic!]—pens. Never had them last thi—[hic!]—is long tho—[hic!]—ugh.”

*Trein continues teaching the class, Yuu’s hiccups getting progressively more frequent as they try to stifle it. They try everything they can, from holding their breath to taking slow sips of water, but they end up getting more and more embarrassed as students stare at them and Trein gives them a concerned and annoyed look at the same time*

Yuu: “Can this g—[hic!]—et any—[hic!]—worse…?”

Crowley: *drops in out of nowhere* “Pop quiz!”

All except Trein: “Gah!?”

Yuu: “………”

Deuce: “…Yuu, your hiccups are gone!”

Yuu: “They are?” *pauses* “They are! Thank you, headmaster!”

Crowley: “Hm? Oh, well, you’re welcome, Yuu!”

Trein: “You have no idea why they’re even thanking you, do you?”

Crowley: “The fact that a student thanked me in the first place is more than enough to know I’m doing my job right, Mozus.”

Ace: “Wait, so you mean that humans scare each other to get rid of hiccups?”

Yuu: “Yeah, that’s why when the headmaster jumped in like he did, I got surprised and the hiccups went away.”

Deuce: “How does that even work?”

Yuu: “I……don’t really know. But it can be effective, if a little bad for the heart at tim-”

???: “Screeeeeeaaaah-!!”

Yuu: *looks up as a large shadow charges at them* “AAAAAAAA-!!!”

WHUMP!!

Ace: “Gyah! Floyd? What the heck, what’d you do that for?!”

Floyd: *holding Yuu in his arms* “Hahaha! Why not? Lil’ Shrimpy has the funniest reactions when Seagull does the same thing.”

Yuu: *looking panicked and horrified* “[Hic! Hic! Hic! Hic! Hic! Hic! Hic! Hic!!]”

Floyd: “Eh? Why’s Shrimpy making that sound?”

Ace: “Ugh…and we just got the hiccups to stop.”

Grim: “Wait, I thought scaring humans got rid of them, but scaring them can cause them too??”

Yuu: “Just—[hic!]—get me—[hic!]—some wat—[hic!]—er!”

And there we have it! The good news is that Yuu will definitely have plenty of help getting rid of the next round of hiccups. The bad news is that it may not be so good for their heart with how terrifying some of the monster boys can be. 🤣

By the way, the last part was inspired by the last strip of a Calvin and Hobbes comic where Calvin had the hiccups, and was trying all sorts of tricks to get rid of them. Believe me, it was a tossup between Floyd and Rook in terms of who was going to pull that stunt at the end!

how are YOU? what’s the haps, what’s the news? hope you’re holding up well! :-)

Not a whole lot to report, really. Things have been good, I've been productive, and lots of fun things are on the horizon. Trying to keep a lot of work related things close to the vest for the time being because I don't like yapping too much about what's cooking because surprises are fun.

I've got a lot of friends with birthdays coming up so we'll be doing fun shit and having a good time. I get to see my mom next month so that's cool. Been working with a finance dude to get my business in order, finally, after years of needing help in that department.

Lots of being responsible and taking care of myself, really. The cats have been lovely, and haven't harassed me whenever I step into the booth lately so that's been appreciated.

Going to the gym has been great, that's been going well! Should hit my goal for 2024 by the time the Summer is through, barring any setbacks. If I was better at being motivated to cook this diet shit would be a breeze, but that's my biggest hurdle tbh. I'm finding ways around it though.

YouTube shit is going great right now, lots of improvements centered around the changes I looked into at the end of last year have translated to tangible bumps in numbers so that's cool. The rest boils down to consistency, which is all on me.

All in all, very excited for the next few months and making up for time I lost at the start of the year!
