I have that weird thing in which whenever I read a few works from a certain author, I somehow start to imagine their writing style as an art style.

A few examples:

I imagine Bergen 's style would look like crisp and simple, lineless cartoony artstyle that uses exaggerating features to convey the story behind the piece as well as many bold but fitting color palettes. Characters would be depicted in dynamic poses.

HappyAsPie 's style now, are little anatomically correct doodles, that are suspiciously clean and thorough as for a doodle, showcasing just how talented they are. Additionally, there would be an insane amount of them on an individual canvas, every single one looking vastly different from one another

Or, Spdrmain's writing style looks like a charcoal semi-realistic, traditionally made drawing, with many purposefully drawn messy lines. The details are specifically highlighted only in places where your eyes are supposed to be drawn, added to capture the mood.

What’s your total AO3 word count?

What fandoms do you write for?

At present, I’m only really active in the MCU/Irondad fandom; but I’ve written in the past for Marvel, Sherlock, Deadpool, TASM, Supernatural, Glee, Doctor Who, & Psych.

What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I do! For the most part. At a certain point I fall behind in responding and always feel a little awkward responding to older comments (a pleasant shyness); but I read all of them and deeply appreciate every single one.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I think my answer to that might be different than other people’s answers! I’d probably say count to ten; it’s a fill I wrote for the Whumptober 2019 prompt ‘shaky hands’, primarily from Tony’s perspective, post-Snap.

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Happy in tone, or in what happened? I like to think all of my fics end on the happiest note possible; I can’t stomach bad endings. Put em through hell, but make it worth it at the end.

I’d still have to say the world is not kind. It’s the way I choose to believe Endgame ended (until I get around to writing that giant fix-it).

Do you get hate on fics?

Not that I’ve noticed. Occasionally people will get a little pointed, but I try not to take anything personally; I’m just glad they got to the end and were moved by it enough, in whatever way they were moved, to comment.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I have written smut, primarily M/M, but only rarely in my published fics.

Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I’ve written crossovers; I’d like to write more of them eventually. The craziest one was The Adventures of Dean Winchester & Friends, for the SuperWho Big Bang 2012. It was ridiculous, self-indulgent crack. We’ve all been there.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge!

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Surprisingly yes! I was honored and pleasantly bewildered. Peter Parker’s Night Clinic for Kinda Crappy, Accidental Superheroes was translated into Suomi (Finnish).

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have not had the pleasure! I’d really love to, I think that would be a unique experience and I love collaborative art.

What’s your all time favourite ship?

Oh god all time?? I presume romantic and not platonic ships, but I’ll give both. Romantic has to be Sterek, once a Teen Wolf girlie, always a Teen Wolf girlie. Platonic is Irondad, bar none.

What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

It’s a threeway tie between the sequel to the world is not kind, my Pepper Potts character study piece, and the Infinity War / Endgame rewrite. Of the three, that last one has the least words put to page; but never say die, I still chip away at them all.

What are your writing strengths?

I can write a good emotional through-line. I like to call it emotions porn. Description has never been my issue, and commas love me.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Writing action, or solid plot. I’m not much of a mastermind, so I have a hard time with penning longer works.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I’ve done it before when necessary; I’m forced to use Google Translate but if anyone ever wants to correct me I know it’s probably wrong! 🤣

This is the time of year when we all start looking back and reflecting upon everything that has taken place in the last twelve months. So, I suggest we show ourselves some love!

What are your top five favorite creations you produced in 2022? It can be art, writing, gif sets, video editing, or any other form of creative expression. Take this opportunity to highlight your best work! Then tag five others so that they can share the love as well!!

#1 From the Same Star  This is the story that finally got me to try writing. I've been reading fanfiction for longer than many of you have been alive (started when I was 13, over 25 years ago) but I never thought I could write my own stories. This one is close to my heart for so many reasons, but I love all the IronFam interaction, and I loved writing an fully grown, happy, supported, and awesome Peter Parker. And I've fallen in love the with OC love interest as I've continued to write her. 💗

#2 Emergency Contacts  This is the first story I tried not-in-my-soulmate-universe, and it was the first prompt I tried. It's from Flash's point of view, and it's a lot of fun. I really love how it turned out, and it's actually my most popular (kudos-wise) story to date. (Of course, I've only been writing for like seven months...)

#3 Ghost in the Walls This is part of my "Strands in the Rope" series, and I think it's one of my favorites that I've written. I loved the exploration of Tony's relationship with his parents, his reflections on his growing mentor/parental relationship with Peter, and I love the piano scene so much.

#4 Laundry Day This is a short one-shot in my Comfortember stories. I love a lot of those, so it was hard to choose one, but this one is so satisfying and gives me all the warm fuzzies every time I read it.

#5 is the only visual art I've done (so far - I'd like to do more, but I'm unsatisfied with my figure drawing skills, since there's been a woeful lack of practice since high school) for any fandom, but I'm kind of in love with how it turned out. (The background is acrylics, and I digitally painted the figures in with Photoshop.)

I did a few videos this year that I love, too, but they're not fandom-related, and have my kids in them, so... :)

okay so obviously it’s not 2022 at all anymore and I didn’t actually work on five new projects in 2022, but here’s some stuff I’m proud of that I generally worked on in 2022 XD

#1 How Like Home: (harry falls through the veil) call me predictable, but I spend so much of time thinking about this fic that it’d be kinda crazy if I weren’t in love with it too. this fic has been with me with (now) three years, and I expect it to be with me for at least another three, so it’s got a very special place in my heart

#2 A New Point of View: (irondad body swap) this fic is actually almost done now! (in 2023) and I didn’t expect it to take nearly as long as it has since I started it early 2022 and expected it to be 15-20k words (it clocks in at ~67k now that it’s done). it’s maybe not my favorite fic in terms of content/demonstration of my ability, but it’s brought me some friendships that I don’t know if I would’ve had without it, and for that it’ll be special to me for a long long time to come

#3 Bop to the Top: (drarry genderbend modern) okay so I tried so hard to abandon this fic. i didn’t touch it for years and yet!! one day I woke up and it just wouldn’t leave me alone. i started it in 2020, abandoned it in 2020, but finished it in 2022. I actually do like this fic a lot, despite the lack of positive reception. it’s very different from what I usually write, and I think that makes it all the more important

#4  Be Your Protector: (irondad foster fic) my first foray into the irondad fandom! as my first forays into a fandom always are, it’s a bit weak because my grasp on the voice of the characters was a bit weak, but I still like this story a lot. a million iterations of it exist, but I’ve still reread this one that I wrote in a single weekend haze

#5 Vanish Point: (irondad oneshot) this is the most overt projection i’ve ever done with a fic (and that’s saying something!) I decided that one awful water slide i went on would be funny if it happened to Peter while Tony was there, and I decided to write it out, and here it is!
