Can’t stop thinking about dnd aus for multiple fandoms it’s actually a problem
#dnd#baldur's gate 3#okay so like for klaine I think Blaine would be a cleric and Kurt could be a Druid#and I have THOUGHTS about Kurt being a Druid#because like.#him being a half elf and his mom giving up every connection to his eleven heritage to be with Burt#but then she dies when he’s 8 anyway and not only has he lost his mother he’s severed any tie he has to his culture#but one day soon after she passes he’s sitting by her grave#thinking about how nice it would be if he could find some flowers to pick for her headstone#and instead… a circle of mushrooms blooms right before his eyes#because out of death there is life and something something the magic of nature#for Javey obviously David is a cleric and Jack is a rogue#I am legit so unwell about this#David and Sarah get a letter one day and travel to the elven city they were banished from#and it’s their mom (in this au she would be Not Great) and she’s like. I need you to take this young elf to moonrise towers (or smth idfk)#and long story short the young elf is Les!#David and Sarah are charged with safely getting him to where he needs to be#under the promise that upon his safe arrival they’ll be allowed to live in the forest again#(they were not allowed because they’re half human and racism is a thing in dnd)#anyway#out in the city they meet Jack (human rogue) - Race (drow fighter) and a few others along the way#and they get sidetracked and have adventures etc#a few key moments that stick out to me are: David being reluctant to use his magic but finally using it in a scuffle to save Les#Jack dying and Davey bringing him back#just a lot of really intense combat moments#oh and also them fleeing combat from the Fucking Frog#and sitting and pouting about it like ‘what the FUCK was that?’#and they never bring it up again bc they NEVER retreat

Flashback: Klainetober 2022 fics
Since we are back in October (and I'm feeling all sorts of nostalgic), I just wanted to reblog and share the old Klainetober 2022 fics that myself and my friend @madas-ahatters-world did last year.
We put them all together in a series called Halloween Harvest - Klainetober 2022. There were 31 prompts - and we do plan to get back to them, but here are the ones we did finish.
It was fun writing these. It was challenging to try to take a stab at horror writing, which isn't usually my thing. These fics were created last year when I first started writing fan fic - so its nice to look back on some old work and see how my style has developed in over a year.
If you haven't read any of these - enjoy!
The cover art for each story and individual story summaries are listed below the picture. (13 stories so far!)

Jen Tortures Herself With Every Dreamworks Animated Movie Ever: Abominable
Tumblr media
Wow I can't believe Dreamworks made their own version of Up but without the Dead Wife and Flying House and with a Yeti instead of a colorful bird
Anyway, this movie was kind of a mystery to me going in, because I swear to god I've never heard anyone ever talk about this, so I had no idea what to expect out of it. As for what I got, well... it was... actually pretty ok! So let's get into it.
Tumblr media
After the death of her father, teenager Yi has grown distant from her family and her friends, Jin and his younger cousin Peng. That is, until she happens upon an escaped yeti, eventually named Everest, after she decides to help the creature get back to his home on Mount Everest, roping Peng and Jin along for the trip. All the while, they're being chased by the wealthy collector Mr. Burnish and zoologist Dr. Zara, who are determined to recapture the yeti and put it on display.
So yeah, a pretty simple "get mysterious creature back to where they belong" plot that we've seen in plenty of other movies in the past. The movie does kind of fumble over more than a few cliches when it comes to that plot, and the characters, for the most part, are a bit too simple and one-note for my liking. The tone is also a little strange, with some weird humor mixed in with often heavy-handed attempts at whimsy and drama. The pacing is also kind of strange? I don't know how to explain it but something is... off about the way this film presents its story and I can't... seem to articulate why.
Tumblr media
As for the characters, like I said, they're all pretty simple. I feel like Yi is a little confusing and doesn't really have a clear character arc? Like she just decides to help Everest almost immediately after meeting him? Like literally just travel across China on a whim??? What? I get she's an impulsive teenager but still, bruh, that's just wacky. Peng is your typical hyperactive kid character, and he grated on the nerves a handful of times. Out of our main human trio, I think Jin is the best, he's a pretty funny character who goes through an actual arc, starting off as a tech-obsessed stick in the mud before learning to enjoy the journey alongside the others. Everest is also just... your typical cute creature cliche? He doesn't have a ton in the way of a personality and he has these powers that are kind of just... whatever the plot needs them to be? Like deus-ex-machina yeti fr fr out here.
Tumblr media
Our villians are... surprisingly interesting! We start off thinking Mr. Burnish is our greedy big bad capitalist when, surprise! Dr. Zara actually is instead and I love her cause she goes from zero to 100 so fast and yeah, she's a twist villian cliche but I don't care because she kind of a baddie there I said it.
Tumblr media
As for presentation, this movie is honestly gorgeous. Like seriously, it is so damn pretty to look at. The set pieces are so vibrant and colorful and the scale of them is awe-inspiring. The character designs felt kind of weird to me at first, burt I grew used to them as the film went along, and they're animated very nicely. There's a lot of scenes in this movie that were clearly just Dreamworks flexing, and you know what? I'm not gonna fault them for it. They're beautiful.
Tumblr media
Something else that's beautiful about this movie is its score. Yi plays the violin and that actually becomes a major plot point throughout the film and every time she picks that instrument up, we get some truly soulful, beautiful pieces. This soundtrack is nowhere near as memorable as something like HTTYD's but its still absolutely lovely in its own right, I think.
So yeah, Abominable was one of the more surprising movies of the Dreamworks watch. I kept forgetting I would even have to eventually watch it until now, but I think, for what it is, it's ok. I wouldn't call it great, but I wouldn't call it terrible either. It's a perfectly servicable film about a bunch of kids and a yeti going on a cross-country adventure. And sometimes, that's all ya need.
Overall Rating: 6/10
Verdict: Evil Unetical Scientists Can Be Hot Sometimes, Actually

Les Mis mini review 06/09/2023
So I saw the current cast minus a few principals last night as shown below
Tumblr media
In my honest opinion I think Josh may be a little miscast in the role of Valjean, there was some lovely acting choices throughout but I just found myself not connecting to the performance, it didn’t take away from the show but I think I would have much preferred his phantom. He seems to be having a lovely time so good for him!
Adam Robert Lewis was on as Javert which was fab as I didn’t think I’d get to see him as he’s leaving soon! Vocally absolutely sublime, very uptight and perfectly rigid portrayal at the beginning and then as the show went on became more and more unhinged, fantastic show!
Lucie as Fantine was good, not my favourite portrayal acting wise as I didn’t get desperation and on the brink of death but she’s always going to vocally kill it, I think if I’m honest she seemed a little bored, again she’s leaving soon so nice to see her in the full show after seeing her in the concert.
Thenardiers we’re Gerard Carey who’s always brilliant and Claire Machin who was equally as brilliant super funny and genuinely evil.
Nathania Ong as Eponine always stellar sad to see her go soon!
Cameron Burt was on for Enjolras LOVELY voice and acting.
Louis Emmanuel (2nd cover) was on for Marius really enjoyed his performance so youthful and genuine and his voice with a little more time in the role will be perfect.
Can’t forget Lulu Mae Pears as Cosette who is 100% on the way to Christine after this cause wow her improvements have been drastic she sounds fantastic!

Hiiii!!!!! please please pleaseeeeeee keep writing for sammy fabelman😭 (pref gender neutral or male reader) maybe meeting his parents and family for the first time? also please tag me in any sammy writings i love them!!!!!
remember to drink water!! <3
Tumblr media
gif cred: @manderley
ask and you shall receive!
meeting the fabelmans - headcanon (gn!reader)
sammy would speak low of his family, not in a nasty way, just because he knows that his family will 100% embarrass him.
mitzi will show you embarrassing baby photos. his sisters will ask you intrusive questions, and burt will ask if you're up-to-date with the news on computing science and bore you to death.
but the biggest worry was the family secret - he hasn't told you yet. how can he introduce his parents to the love of his life when their own marriage is falling apart?
you, on the other hand, were estatic to meet sam's family.
if you're jewish, you'd find comfort in meeting another family just like your own; as sammy is the only other jewish person in the school.
if you're not jewish, it's not a concern; the fablemans have no quarrems with that kind of thing, and that's all that matters.
mitzi would suggest going on another camping trip, using the bonding moments to get to know you and let you see what activities they like to do as a family
burt, however, suggests just inviting you over for dinner; not to get you too overwhelmed. "nothing beats good company while eating a nice meal."
ultimately it's up to sammy how he'd like to introduce you, and ends up going with the dinner option.
"at least it's easier to run off from a dinner table than the middle of a forest" his excuse was.
you ask "what makes you think i wanna run off?"
"not you, per say. was thinking more me running away, to save me any embarrassment"
you try your best to make a good first impression
wearing your best clothes, polished your shoes, got your mum to bake a cake as a gift.
sammy insisted you didn't need the cake, so when you arrived with it in hand, you felt a bit foolish.
but as mitzi opened the door, and her face lit up at the sight of you (glimpsing the cake) you felt less nervous.
you're welcomed with open arms. literally. the minute burt took the cake with thanks, mitzi engulfed you into a hug.
"you never told me they were so handsome/pretty, sammy" she says
sammy rolls his eyes "yeah, forgot to mention that obvious bit of information"
everytime sam makes a sarcastic remark, you shoot him a stare like "chill out, ok?" and he tries to calm his nerves.
the fabelmans took their turn in talking with you.
you chat with reggie and natalie while mitzi cooks, chuckling at the cheeky remarks they make about there brother
"we never thought he would date anyone!" they both giggled.
"fun fact, it was actually me that spoke to him first, he was so shy" you told.
their giggles grow in volume, "that's no surprise!"
sammy sinks lower in his seat. wishing he could disappear.
like sam guessed, when you all sit at the table and grab servings, burt asks you questions about school; what you're studying, what job you want to persue, do you think about going to college, etc.
you tell him about your ambitions, and he seems impressed.
he talks rambling about computing science, telling you how it'll kick off in the next decade, and it's a good profession to get in.
"they don't wanna do that stuff, dad," sammy sighs.
"no no no, keep going mr. fabelman, it sounds really interesting"
you genuinely are interested, seeing a father be so excited about something. but you also wanted to playfully nudge sammy, knowing it'll annoy him.
you talk to benny also, erupting in laughter at his silly stories and bent-double jokes.
sammy seems a little tense when you talk to him, but you try to shrug it off.
if only you knew what was really going on.
finally, mitzi has her moment to shine with you. you gives you random compliments, getting and giddy and saying "oh my boy is so lucky!" and it makes you blush.
after dinner she goes to her piano and asks you your favourite song. the family chant about how talented she is at piano, and you're eager to listen.
"i really like that one song on the radio, oh i can't mind the name..."
"i know exactly which one it is!"
mitzi stretches her fingers and begins to play. you know it immediately, looking to sammy with a smile. he smiles back, glad to see you happy.
by the evening, you thank the fabelmans for the wonderful meal, and expressed how you genuinely enjoyed yourself.
they welcomed you so fluently, it was a surprise. you were gratified by their generousity and kindness.
"you're welcome anytime," they say, insisting sammy to bring you every weekend.
sammy begins to walk you home, growing silent. he lets out a distressed sigh.
"wasn't so bad, was it?" you say.
"surely you get that most of that was all a front," sammy rolls his eyes.
"and what? all families have their skeletons in the closet. my family has a chest full of them!"
sammy stops in his tracks, staring in a cautious matter, as if he wanted to tell you a secret. you grew worried.
"there's stuff you don't know, okay? and... i'm just not ready to tell them. one day i'll tell you, but right now, i feel like i can't tell anyone, like i have to die with this secret."
you could almost feel the weight on his shoulders. your eyes grew in sympahy.
you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and planted a kiss on his lips, him reacting swiftly and returning the favour; your embrace soothing him.
you pulled away, looked into his eyes, and say "you can tell me when you're ready, i'm here for you; always,"
sam smiles, appreciative of your gentle sympathy. he walks you the rest of the way home, holding your hand in his.

Showbiz Pizza Magic Night (1984), Segment 1: "Magic Night Intro/Magic Medley" Transcript
Edit (05/15/24): I got confirmation that Billy Bob and Looney Bird do NOT sing in the Magic Carpet Ride section of the medley. Their curtain isn’t open during this part at all.
Note: Below the cut, you'll find my best effort at transcribing the first segment of Showbiz Pizza's Magic Night show tape from 1984, which includes the intro skit for the entire show and the first song, which is a medley of magic-themed songs. You can also find some footnotes at the very end of the script, along with a list of links to transcriptions of the rest of the Magic Night segments.
Some extra stutters and stammers have been omitted for clarity's sake.
I've done my very best to ensure that this is as accurate as possible, but of course, I am human and fully capable of making a mistake, so if you have a correction, please feel free to let me know!
MAGIC NIGHT 1984
SEGMENT ONE: MAGIC NIGHT INTRO/MAGIC MEDLEY
Featuring:
Aaron Fechter as Rolfe DeWolfe, Earl Schmerle, Billy Bob Brockali, and Looney Bird
Burt "Sal" Wilson as Fatz Geronimo
Duke Chauppetta as Dook LaRue
Rick Bailey as Beach Bear
Shalisa Sloan as Mitzi Mozzarella
----------
FATZ: Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to Magic Night here at Showbiz Pizza! Now, you’re all probably wondering to yourself, or to the people next to you, in which case, they’re probably telling you to quit wondering so loud in their ear so they can enjoy the show and also understand exactly what I’m trying to tell you, which is, uh, this! It’s uh-
DOOK: What?
(MITZI laughs.)
FATZ: You got a problem, Dook? What do you mean, screaming, “what,” in the middle of my little speech when I was on a roll and everything?
DOOK: Well, you wasn't making no sense.
(MITZI laughs again.)
FATZ: Well, I hadn’t had a chance to say anything yet!
DOOK: I know, that’s what I mean! You’re talking but you ain’t saying nothing.
FATZ: Well, I’m about to if you’d just let me.
DOOK: Okay, man. I was just trying to keep the flow going, that’s all. No big deal.
FATZ: Okay, okay. Well, thank you very much, but anyway, back to what I was saying. You see, from time to time, we like to put these themes together for our shows, just to add a little spice and continuity, if you know what I mean. And the theme for this particular show happens to be magic. Now, you may be saying to yourself, “Hey. I don’t like magic. I hate card tricks, and birds that disappear bore me to death.” Well, you are certainly entitled to your opinion. However, just to put your mind at ease, we are not going to attempt to perform any magic tricks on this stage at this particular time because, quite honestly, none of us here are certified and bonafide magicians.
MITZI: Well, what about Rolfe? He's a ventriloquist.
FATZ: Now, now, Mitzi, don’t be calling Rolfe any names. That’s not nice, and besides, he can’t help it if that’s what he is.
BEACH BEAR: No, Fatz, see, you don’t understand. A ventriloquist is someone who can make his voice appear as though it’s coming from someplace else.
FATZ: Yeah, so?
DOOK: So, Rolfe over there, he makes his voice sound like it’s coming from Earl’s mouth.
FATZ: Wait, wait, wait, wait. You’re trying to tell me that when Earl talks it’s really Rolfe’s voice?
DOOK: Yeah, exactly.
EARL: Wait! Hey, come on, you guys. I don’t know what you’re trying to pull over there, but listen up. I am me, and Rolfe is Rolfe, poor soul, and that is that. You understand?
DOOK: Yo, Earl! We ain’t trying to hurt your feelings or nothing, man, but we’re just trying to explain to everybody that Rolfe’s a ventriloquist and you’re supposed to be a dummy.
(A few of the other band members laugh.)
EARL: What!? Hey! You guys’re really trying to make me mad! Ooh, I’m so mad!
ROLFE: Hey, Earl, come on, man, don’t overreact.
EARL: Who’s overreacting!?
ROLFE: You are! Let’s face it. Every sound and every gesture that you make comes from me.
EARL: Oh, yeah? Well, prove it.
(FATZ, MITZI, BEACH BEAR, and DOOK make general sounds of agreement, goading ROLFE on.)
ROLFE: Okay, watch this everyone: Earl, why don’t you tell everybody here just how long you’ve been in showbusiness?
(There's a beat of awkward silence.)
ROLFE (Cont.): Uh. Come on, Earl. Tell everybody how long you’ve been in showbusiness.
(The others are doing a poor job at keeping their laughter hushed.)
ROLFE (Cont.): Earl, come on, man. Earl, I’m waiting.
(After another beat of silence, an exasperated ROLFE starts again, in a terrible approximation of EARL’s voice. Really, it’s almost impressive how awful his impersonation is.)
ROLFE (Cont., Imitating EARL): “I have been in showbusiness for almost three years and I have enjoyed working with Rolfe DeWolfe, uh, who is a good ventriloquist and I…”
(ROLFE’s confidence wanes as he realizes he’s convincing no one. The others are finding this amusing for all of the wrong reasons, making him noticeably embarrassed.)
ROLFE (Cont., As himself.): Uh... I am a geek.
(The others share one more good natured laugh amongst themselves.)
EARL: Right, Rolfe. You’re a geek. Now, would somebody close these curtains and get us outta here?
FATZ: Uh, now hold on there, Earl. Don’t close the curtains just yet. We got a medley to do. And, uh… Wait. Billy Bob! Come on out here!
BILLY BOB: Okay, Fatz!
FATZ: We’re gonna need you and Looney Bird for this.
BILLY BOB: Okay, great!
LOONEY BIRD: Yeah, great!
FATZ: Now, uh, we got three songs to do here in a medley, y’all. It’s gonna be Magical Mystery Tour, Black Magic Woman, and Magic Carpet Ride.
LOONEY BIRD: Great.
FATZ: And for those of you who are paying particularly close attention, be on the lookout for our subtle and effective use of the theme “magic” in these here songs. Okay. Let’s do it.

Footnotes:
*Rolfe and Earl's curtain periodically opens and closes throughout the performance. This means the "ALL" section includes mainly the center and right stages but has been labeled as such to make the formatting less cluttered.
**There are some lyrical mishaps throughout this medley that have been transcribed based on what is recorded in the tape rather than the lyrics of the original song. It can be assumed here, based on the echoed response from the others and the original lyrics, that Earl was supposed to sing "hoping" instead of "waiting". There are also several incorrect lyrics in the Black Magic Woman section of the medley.

And another! One of my favourites this time 🎥
Edison West - Film Freak
a consistent pain in the sides of Batman and his protégés, the Film Freak has a talent for always coming back. Completely and self-destructively devoted to his art, Eddie is also completely without originality, which proves his undoing every single time. He wouldn’t give it up though. For him film is a language, it has to communicate its intent clearly. On that note, Eddie’s projects are ideologically inconsistent with each other, though never with themselves, always surreal, always iconoclastic, and almost always ego driven. His shoots, which range from guerrilla productions and handheld cameras to elaborate sets, are carefully planned out in their every move, and Eddie’s devotees, equal parts production crew and cult, perform their duties to the letter. As carefully planned out as his projects may be, Eddie’s next move is always clear, he has to allow the audience to catch on. His references are obscure, ever-shifting, and often multitextual, but if they can be traced, then so can he. But is he quoting Anthony Perkins in Psycho, or is he quoting Skeet Ulrich quoting Anthony Perkins? More often than not, Eddie’s plans involve his own defeat, and often his death, he has a compulsive need to make himself into a martyr figure, seeing it as the next step in propagating his house style. For Bruce, it’s just as important, and often more difficult, to prevent Eddie from receiving the ending he’s looking for, than stopping whatever crime he’s actually committing. His crew, despite the best efforts of both Bruce and the GCPD, have always managed to end up circulating the Final Cut of his projects, and they play to a notable cult following.
The first one to really be a total redesign, name and all. There’s two Film Freaks in the comics, one named Burt Weston, and one named Edison. I call this version Edison West for simplicity’s sake. character refs for Eddie are Eric Binford from 1980’s Fade to Black, who conducts a series of murders in the style of old Hollywood films, in full black and white. Cecil B. Demented from the film of the same name, who leads a group of guerrilla filmmakers in a terrorist campaign against bad taste. And Cosmo McKinley from Shock Treatment, a character actor who runs a televised asylum under the guise of being an actual doctor. Eddie has a lot of potential as a recurring villain but he never really gets to do much. It’s nice to have somebody on hand that justifies any homage you want to do. Plus he’s my American Psycho, just like me fr fr. Evil autistic swag unlimited

Scenes from December (18/24)
Klaine Day Eighteen : Nose
***
December, 2057
The day was mockingly bright and sunny.  There was a gentle breeze, and a temperature that felt too warm for mid-December.  Still, Kurt couldn’t help but bring in his full-length, black coat a little tighter.  He held himself close, arms fully clasped across his chest as he looked down on the two graves as he stood quietly with his thoughts.
A year had passed.  Wasn’t this supposed to get easier?  Somehow, time just made the world feel emptier.
It wasn’t as if his dad had suffered.  Despite all the scares of heart attacks and cancers, he had passed quietly in his sleep, sitting in his chair, while watching a fishing show.  It was remarkably peaceful, and Kurt could only hope that when his time came, it would be so simple.
He thought about how he had spoken with his dad just a few days earlier -- how tired and worn he had seemed, yet still able to follow the conversation.  Not that his dad had every that much to say.  Most of their conversations had been Kurt chatting away about his life and Burt nodding along, waiting to interject a confused comment or disperse a pearl of wisdom.  That was the great thing about his dad - the fact that he was a steadfast constant in Kurt’s flashpan storm of a life.
Kurt had thought maybe his own age might slow him down a little.  His sixties had taken all the color from his hair (he decided the silver looked nice on him though) and most of his eyesight (his glasses had been a permanent staple to his face for over a decade now) but they couldn’t take his spirit.
Which is why his dad’s death had felt like hitting a brick wall.
What do you do when one of your constants in life no longer is there?
How do you adjust to a world that you no longer recognize?
No matter how old he got - there had always remained that little boy in him, the one who reached for his father’s hand whenever he was scared.  Whenever he was anxious.  Whenever he wanted to be reminded that unconditional love and genuine acceptance were a thing that he had.
He missed his mother - because she was someone, a part of him, that he never really got to know.  But his dad's absence felt so much greater.  Kurt understood who he was through his dad.  And it was hard to reconcile that he was still himself without his dad there.
Kurt had always been an emotional man.  But he stood there, frozen, unable to really express how he felt.  What did he feel - really?
There was a crunch of grass, a shattering of the still moment as Blaine came up beside him.  His Blaine - who had gone through something similar only just a few years earlier, only with more conflicted relief than agonizing sorrow.  Kurt had done all that he could for Blaine then - even if it meant giving Blaine space to grieve in his own way.  They had been together long enough, now, to know what the other needed.  And Blaine had known how to navigate Kurt’s tempestuous emotions with such ease.  Kurt wasn’t sure he would have made it the past year without Blaine there.
Blaine curled an arm through Kurt’s - breaking through his stony armor as he had always been to do - and pulled him down for a soft kiss on the nose.  Yes, they still had each other - though the thought that time was now limited weighed heavy on Kurt’s mind.  But at least he still had comfort in it.
“I just wanted to let you know,” Blaine said with a soft voice, “that Tracy had her baby.  I was going to head to the hospital.  Would you like to come - or do you need more time?”
Kurt managed a smile.  “I’d like to come.”
Maybe the world wasn’t as empty as he thought it was.  Just different.
And maybe that was okay.

Chapter 43: Thoughts In The Sky
It was a little rainy that day. The type that you would barely notice aside from the occasional drop landing on the tip of your nose. It creates a peaceful feeling in the air. It's notably different from your normal, sunny, or cloudy days, yet it isn't a pouring mess that makes you cancel your plans. It would only be an issue if you were spending the day traveling for supplies. This happened to be the case for the group of toppats as they slowly approached the top of the mountain.
They all made this trip at least once before, so it wasn't that much of a change from what you would have expected. It shouldn't even be something to note. Just make sure anything that could be affected by the rain was wrapped up safely. And even then, that could be seen as an overreaction considering how little the rain was. Sven was already prepared for that though, he tended to be. That would be nice as long as no one else commented about it. At least this was the only trip they would need to take for almost the entirety of the next month if his calculations were correct.
As the lift they were on made contact with the mountainside, they all began to head out onto the Skyline ground. They didn't know how they missed this system of transportation in the beginning for so long, but that was beside the point now. Fredrick and Jaques got the boxes they brought out with them as Sven went to find the first place they needed to get to. Calla helped Burt out of the lift. She gave a smile as she glanced out over the distance. It was nice up here…
She and the others sat down nearby to properly rest from the trip from the crashed station to here. They had a chance in the lift, technically, but you didn't want to risk falling to your death with one wrong move because you weren't paying attention. Normally Right Hand Man would be there in case someone fell, but he had.. more important things to take care of that day. A frown came across Calla's face as she thought of that. She still didn't know exactly what happened to Hat Girl, but…
She felt a hand on her shoulder, glancing behind to see Burt looking at her with a hint of concern in his eyes. He pulled back his hand. "Are you alright?" He asked, tilting his head. "It isn't like you to be so…" He gave a faint shrug. "Sad," He said for the lack of a better word.
"I'm fine… It's just." She let out a small sigh as she rested her hands in her lap, drawing the other two's attention to her. She thought about whether she should continue speaking for a moment. Did her thoughts need to be said aloud when they were so obvious? "It's Hattie. Thinking about her.."
"It isn't fair what happened to her," Jaques said with a sigh, glancing to the side as he leaned back. The other four looked at him silently. Noticed the faint shake in his hands. They didn't comment on it, they knew better too. Even if he was one of them in terms of rank now, he was a leader of the clan. “I…don't want to get into it but. It's so easy to tell whatever those, jewel store felines did, it isn't gonna be gone for a long while."
"I just wish I knew what happened. It isn't mine, nor anyone else's place to know but.." Fredrick sighed as he leaned against Burt, the other man holding his hand. "I just.. she's so young. Whatever happened messed her up mentally and it just isn't right!"
Burt was quiet as he nodded. Fredrick had glanced at him when he said that, and both knew why he had. "I don't think we should be talking about this, at least this often," Burt said, looking at the group. Calla tilted her head, but Jaques gave a faint nod. "Everyone's been talking about it behind her and her family's backs," Burt said as he gently helped Fredrick straighten up. "They need the time and proper headspace to heal. You don't think they hear us? Do you think our words help?"
The group was silent for a moment as the rest thought about his words. "He does have a point. Doesn't apply much here since they aren't around, but he does have one." Jaques stated.
The conversation was interrupted by heavy footsteps against the ground. They all quickly shot to their feet and backed up toward one of the buildings as they watched the scene. One of the lazy paw cats jumped into view, dragging along a necklace whose centerpiece was as big as their head. One of the mountain goats was after it. The group didn't even see them yet, they could just see the looming shadow at the end of their sights. The cat jumped next to the lift as the sound of footsteps sped up.
For being half blind, Burt was the first to see what was going to happen as he pushed Calla and Fredrick down.
A loud crash filled the air as the cat just barely dodged out of the way of the charging Goat. As they made contact, the lift and the system attached to it broke, sending wood everywhere.
Jaques could barely stubble his way out of the way of some of the debris, falling to the floor in the process. A loud crash came over the other three's heads as a piece of metal slammed into the wall above them. Fredrick took a peek up, and let out a small shiver as part of his hat's top had been sliced off, and the metal was stuck in the hole it had made in the wall. He wasn't going to say he would have died if it hit him, but he didn't have hopes he wouldn't have. It seemed so clear.
The air was silent, except for the breathing of the goat as they stumbled back onto their feet.
"And that.." Jaques was the first to speak up, a small grunt to his voice as he got up from the ground. "Is an example of why I wanted to become immortal." He sighed as he dusted himself off.
"What on earth happened?!" Sven's voice suddenly called, the blonde man appearing with a bag, one of the nomads beside him.
"It wasn't our fault, and I'd argue it wasn't the goats either," Fredrick stated, glaring at the Lazy Paw just in time to catch them turning invisible. "Hey, get back here-"
"I don't think they would help us even if they listened," Calla said, taking a breath as she went over to Sven. The man looked over her for any hint of an inquiry as the Nomad walked up to the lift system to examine the damage. The air both lost and gained some tension. Lost some because everyone being okay, but gaining some from the anger of why that had even happened. "I don't think we're getting back to the station tonight." Calla let out a sigh. "I'm sorry Sven. We should have tried to stop it."
"Oh don't worry, this type of thing happens now and again." The Nomad said, glancing over at the group. "It isn't as bad as it looks, at least compared to the past. It should be fixed before the sun sets. You will still be here for longer than intended though."
Sven was silent for a moment. The group could see the stress building in his eyes but he didn't say anything aloud. Instead, he gave a nod and walked back over to the group, holding Calla's hand close.
No one said anything to him right away as he sat down. They wanted him to have a moment to try and think clearly. It was the least they could offer him.
Jaques went ahead and got the list from him, going over to the nomad and arranging a deal where they would go ahead and gather everything on the list for a bit more payment than usual. He could see Sven giving him a glare from the corner of his eyes but he didn't see any better solution here. They knew Sven wasn't gonna let the stress fade smoothly. Might as well go ahead and take the task of gathering everything off his shoulders. Jaques came back to the group after arranging everything.
"I heard there was a lake here," Calla spoke after a moment. "You think we can head there?"
Sven gave a nod. "Yeah… we can do that."
The lake was calm and peaceful when they got there. There was only a small family of Nomads near the edge on the other side of where they were.
"See Sven, this is nice," Calla said as she sat down on the grass, lending back a bit to glance up at the sky. Sven gave a small nod as he glanced down at her. He kept glancing at his phone to make sure his message to the chief was sent. "Reginald will understand."
"I know he will," Sven admitted with a sigh as he sat down. He glanced at her as she smiled, him offering a small one back. He glanced at the water, it almost seemed to glow like crystals. "It's just.." He sighed as he glanced down at the ground, Calla taking his hand as he turned his gaze back towards her. "It's hard not to worry about, anything."
"I know," Calla said with a sigh as she glanced over the water.
"It's just, so much has happened so quickly," Sven said as he glanced down at the ground again. His hands curled into fists on the ground, tearing off some blades of grass as he did. Calla let out a small 'ow' as he quickly let go of her hand. "Sorry." He said, bringing his hands back to himself before he did anything else. "With the Moonjumper Legend and what happened with Hat Girl.."
"Stress is annoying, we can all agree to that," Burt said as he walked up beside the two, glancing at them. Sven glared at him as he glanced out over the water. "But we can't let it bug us every moment. If we do, we just miss out more on stuff."
"Burt, did you get possessed or something?" Sven asked, getting a chuckle from the rest of the group. Burt even cracked a smile as he shook his head, Sven glaring at him as he climbed onto his feet. "I'm serious! You never speak like this!"
"If you have an issue with how I am now." Burt started with a shrug, before smirking. "Blame Fredrick." He said as he glanced at his boyfriend, who rolled his eyes with a shrug. "Besides, you guys always said to lighten up."
"Alright, stop the playful bantering before someone comes to check on us," Jaques said as he came back over after having walked away. He had managed to get ahold of some fishing poles, they all knew better than to ask how. They already knew the most likely answer. He sat one down by the water and did his best to cast one out into it. "Wait, I'm supposed to bait it first." He said, earning a chuckle from behind as he shrugged.
"Fifty-something years in a painting does mess up basic memory, huh?" Burt asked, to which Jaques just glared at him. Fredrick walked up beside the former leader. "Hey, what was.. you know?"
"Lonely, for one," Jaques said with a sigh. "I could see outside the painting but I couldn't.."
"I can't help but think of what would have happened." Sven said as he glanced ahead at the fellow man in blue. "If Burt and Fredrick weren't in that hall that day, or if Snatcher hadn't shown up"
"Oh please, help with my nightmares," Jaques said as he smiled. Sven shook his head a bit as he chuckled as well. He wasn't helping things, was he. At least people started to settle down it seemed. Calla leaned beside him as Fredrick took the other pole, Burt standing on a rock nearby. "It still feels weird to be out sometimes," Jaques admitted. "It feels great, don't get me wrong! And I feel like I am getting used to things again-"
"Jaques, pay attention to your line." Calla quickly said. The man only then noticed it was going deeper into the water and yanked his pole back, grinding his teeth as he pulled.
Frederick got up and helped the man step back as he pulled. It didn't seem to be that big or strong of a fish, Jaques just seemed to be shaky from a lack of practice. "Come on.."
The line was finally pulled up. It was a little bigger than they were expecting. It looked a lot more like a living version of the fish you would see in cartoons rather than an living creature. Then again, you could say that about a lot of this planet. It had purple scales with some red and blue ones spotted about. Jaques began to work on getting the hook free from its mouth without hurting the little thing. It jumped right out of his hands and back into the water.
"What fish is dumb enough to go after a hook that doesn't even have a worm?" Burt asked, Fredrick letting out a chuckle as he led against him, Burt mumbling as he wrapped his arm around him. Jaques shook his head as he cast his line in again. Hey, if it worked once it'll work again. Burt tilted his head as he walked up to the water, glancing in before glancing back at Jaques. "Weren't you fishing with the others the night they got stuck in that storm?" He asked, getting a nod.
"I never said my memory of recent events was perfect, to be fair," Jaques said, Sven, nodding as he glanced away from the lake. He walked up to the edge of the cliff piece they were on, staring below at where they would come from. Being this high up still had his nerves a bit shaken. Sure, it wouldn't kill anyone if they accidentally fell, but it would hurt a lot… He needed to try and cool down, he thought. "You alright Sven?" Jaques called as Sven turned back to the group with a slight smile.
"Yea. I'm fine." He said as he came back over. "Just… I don't know. Never been a fishing guy?"
"Ehh, same here. I just fell into the motions because my family did it so much growing up. Then again you can say that about… a lot of people probably." Fredrick said, glancing out away from the lake to some of the other peaks. His eyes almost seemed to light up when they landed on the Twilight Bell, glancing around to see the lift to that peak was still functional. "I know that light show isn't gonna be happening, but why don't we see what the Bell Realm looks like normally?"
"Did you just call it the bell realm?" Burt asked, Fredrick, shrugging as the others chuckled. Sven glanced over at Calla as he thought of that day in the bell. It was the last time he could recall having a close moment with her. He was sure there had been others since then, like during the cruise, but his mind tended to be so distracted. He didn't understand how she wasn't tired of it, or at least showed it. "I guess we can head there if you all want to. Just make sure we don't end up joining the ghosts in there." He paused as he got some looks. "What, I'm not all positive now."
Sven sighed as he began to head to the closest path to the lift. Jaqeus quickly dropped the pole to catch up with the group. Calla grabbed Sven's hand and smiled at him, and he did the same.
Sven's mind began to clear a bit more. It would be fine, he began to truly realize.
"So… In the off chance something does happen, we're all in agreement not to tell Reginald." He remarked.
"It's not him I'm worried about, it's Right," Jaques stated as he rolled his eyes. "He doesn't say much when anyone does anything dumb, but I swear if looks could kill." He sighed as the group nodded in agreement.
The bell was more quiet and peaceful than the last time they were there. Considering the last time they were in a panic trying to find the teens, it was easy to see why. There were also fewer people in general around to distract from the views. Just the ghostly goats and the strange versions of the dwellers form Subcon. Never got around to asking why they were here. It was almost strange how… it felt like hiking through the forest back on their earth. Expect it to be a ghostly realm rather than your everyday woods.
They looked around for a small while, exploring the parts they felt they could safely access without doing anything dumb. They eventually decided to relax in one of the… fountains. They weren't really fountains, but they were filled with water that seemed to be coming from somewhere. They found one they felt was safe enough, Calla dashing ahead into it with Fredrick following behind a moment later. Almost like kids at a water park really. Then again, did that part of someone ever die?
"Fredrick, be careful! I can't get over there quickly if something happens!" Burt called. "Oh, and you too Calla, I suppose." He added as he sat down on the ground, before leaning back, making sure his hair was still covering his bad eye as he glanced at the dark yet glowing sky. Sven was quiet as he glanced up as well, a little silent as he thought about what to say. "So, what are you two planning to do once we get back home?" Burt asked. "I'm finally going to try a game I fell in love with but never got around to playing."
"I'm starting to wonder if Sven's comment about you being possessed is true." Jaques said as he paced back and forth, hands to his side as he glanced up. "I don't know, really." He said with a shrug, glancing down at the ground, walking almost perfectly in pace with some unheard music. Sven glanced over at him and gave a hint of a frown. Jaques was smiling, though. "I guess I'll see when we get there. Sven?" He glanced over at the blonde.
"I don't know. Knowing me I'll probably just fall into my old habits like we haven't spent, probably a year by that point, on an alien planet." Sven let out a sigh as he looked at the ground, resting his hand against it. He was so used to touching smooth surfaces or paper. There were times where he almost forgot what the ground itself felt like. He glanced up at the sky. "I don't mean too. It's just.. a habit of needing to get work done I can't explain. Even when resting my mind is always thinking about the clan."
"You were made third in command early into your toppat life if I was told was correct." Burt said as he glanced over at him faintly. Sven gave a small nod as Jaques sat on the ledge of the bridge they were on. "I know the feeling of focusing a lot of work. It's not the exact same as you but i can understand." Burt sighed as Sven glanced over with a faint head tilt. "For me it's more numb, just going through the motions of life. For you, I think to your brain it is your life."
"Maybe? It feels like you read me like a book but, I don't know." He sighed. "I'm not trying to be a downer, I just.." He sighed as he shrugged, slowly standing up. He took his hat off his head to more easily wipe away some sweat, and glanced at it. It had been dulled faintly over the years of use, but it was still as good of condition as the day he got it. "I mean… I have been in the clan since a bit before Reginald took leadership… was that, like, a decade ago or something?"
"A decade? How old were you at the time, eighteen? You look great for someone who's gonna be pushing thirty." Jaques said. That earned a small chuckle from Sven, not from the words but from the shock in Jaques voice. He would say Jaques should know, but he was in storage during Terrance's and Reginald's leadership, pre-orbital station. "Look, we all get wrapped up with the clan. It is our life, our family."
"I know, but it's still… hard to balance my work life balance I guess, everyone else can do so just fine." He sighed as he walked closer to where the water was, sitting on the edge. He could catch the shadows of Calla and Fredrick whispering to each other, but didn't think anything of it. Was he even good enough for Calla with how much he struggled with- His thoughts were cut off as he suddenly found himself soaked with a splash. "What the-" He glanced up as Calla garbed his hat.
"Fredrick, catch!" Calla said, tossing his head to the man before racing back into the area. Sven felt himself blushing as he got back up, quickly taking his shoes and socks off to prevent them from getting wet before jumping onto the watery slope to get it back. He almost slid onto the ground but Calla quickly came by to help him balance, letting out a giggle. "You better hurry." She said playfully as she slid back, almost like she was ice skating. "I.. don't have any other reason."
"And they're acting more like kids at a water park now." Burt commented as he glanced at the group. He couldn't see all that was happening well, they kept jumping in and out of his line of sight as Sven stumbled trying to get his hat back. But he couldn't help but smile. He glanced over as he looked at Jaques, who was watching with a hint of temptation in his eyes. "Go ahead." Burt said as he began to stand up. "I can afford to be the adult here. I can think of an explanation later if need be."
"Well, if you insist, I better help the poor man." Jaques smirked as he just dashed into the water… and had to catch himself from falling face first. Sven quickly stumbled over to help him up, but Jaques was already laughing. Sven found himself smiling despite how annoyed he was. He supposed there was just this hint of a trill he hadn't felt in awhile. Jaques glanced at Fredrick. "You better hope I don't get your hat before Sven gets his, or it's gonna get moldy. Does that… make sense?" He asked as Fredrick backed up.
"Come here and find out." Fredrick started with a smirk as Sven and Jaques went after them. Burt watched from the sidelines with a smile as the chaos formed in front of him. He didn't feel safe joining himself but Fredrick was having fun, and that was all that mattered. Sven seemed to start genuinely having a fun time too though, even as Calla and Fredrick kept playing what was basically a game of monkey in the middle. It didn't stop until Fredrick slipped and fell, his back hitting against one of the sides hard.
"Woah, that's enough!" Calla said, Burt taking Jaques hand so he could get over to Fredrick. The man rubbed his back with a grone, but there was still a bit of a chuckle in his voice. Burt began to scan him over, as Calla handed Sven back his hat. "Sorry, we just wanted you to have fun." She said, Sven smiling at her as he took it. She glanced up, seeing an area they hadn't gone to yet. "Fredrick, do you think you can walk?" She got a thumbs up. "Wanna go higher?"
"I would say that's a bad idea but, as long as we don't start playing tag or something it should be fine." Sven said, glancing up as he went to grab his shoes. He felt more at peace now. Not perfectly, there were still worries and issues dancing around in the back of his mind. But he could try and hold them in for a few minutes at least, he reasoned. He glanced over at the others. "What do you all think?" He got nods from the rest of the group. "What's with us all nodding and not just answering aloud."
"Don't give us a crisis." Jaques said as he helped Burt and Fredrick get off the water platform, Burt making sure his eye was covered again. Sven had caught a glimpse of the eye behind the hair and suddenly had a question, but this wasn't the exact moment. He began to lead the group forward after a moment, wanting to scan ahead in case something blocked their path. "You know, it's strange that places like this are even possible to exist." Jaques said. "I know it's another planet, but.."
"I mean, you should see some of the stuff that happens on our world anymore." Burt said with a shrug.
Jaques seemed to tilt his head as he processed the information.
"Should I be concerned when we begin to head home then?" Jaques asked, getting small chuckles from the group and an eye roll from Burt. "What, I'm being serious!"
After they were all done in the Twilight Bell, the group decided to head to the Lava cake. They had already tested their luck in ways today, what was the worst that could happen here? But in reality, they wanted to get their clothes dried off from the water before they headed back and decided that was the best place to do so. Luckily they didn't need to be super close to the cake to get the heat they needed. They just sat on some benches a good eight-miles away from the cake and that was enough.
It looked like the sun was due to start setting soon, and that did bring some worry back into all of them. They should be about half way home by now at least. But things would be fine, they would reassure themselves. Even if they had to stay here for a night in the worst case scenario, they would at least have each other. A;though knowing they're luck, they were probably missing something amazing at the orbital station. But oh well, it couldn't be helped. That was just life, wasn't it.
That thought rested in Sven' brain for a moment, bringing some peace. Yea, stuff like that was just life. So were the incidents that happened.
"Hey Jaques, I know we ask you jokingly all the time about the dirt you have on other people, but I have to say I am genuinely curious." Sven said as he glanced over at the man, who had been picking up any small stone in his grasp and tossing them out over the edge. Jaques glanced over with a head tilt as the others looked over with some interest in the topic being brought up. "I know you were in storage for the last few decades but, you know anything about anyone still around today."
"Only bits and pieces. You should have seen Mr. Macbeth when he was younger. He was like Platinum but, calmer." Jaques started with a hum, barely noticing the looks everyone gave each other at the statement. To compare Platinum and Macbeth in the same breath so casually like that was so odd. "I still wonder what happened that changed him. He still looks like he hasn't gotten good sleep in awhile." Jaques sighed as he tossed another rock, with less energy to his throw. "Wonder if being revived helped with that."
"Probably not." Sven sighed as he got up stretching a bit. "If anything, he's probably worried his revival is tied to the.. you know."
"You do have a point, huh." Fredrick said, glancing at Sven who rested his head in his hands for a moment. Had that really never crossed his mind? Of course it wouldn't, he realized. This was his mind he was talking about. Fredrick stood up and walked up beside Calla, giving her a faint glance before beginning to speak again. "For all we know, riches and greatness could be waiting for us." Jaques gave a chuckle as Fredrick shrugged. "Probably not, but I don't think he's gonna cause us any real harm. I mean, why would he?"
"Why are we all so paranoid about the Moonjumper's Second coming anyway?" Calla stated like she had some to some grand realization, sitting up from where she had been leaning against Sven had glanced at the others. Burt went to give some answer or comment but found himself unable to think of either. So he just, gave a shrug with a look of 'isn't it obvious'.
"Yes, our clan or at least Hat Girl being tied to the prophecy is scary, no denying that. But the prophecy doesn't say anything bad will happen."
"He would like to cause trouble. I just get that vibe from those images I’ve seen… I am using that word correctly, right?" Jaques asked as he glanced at the others. They all had to hold in their stickers, they already bugged him enough with painting and being stuck in time stuff. They could afford to show a little respect to him. Jaques shook his head as he adjusted his gloves. "But I don't think he would cause us harm if we don't cause him harm first. So maybe we can just…relax?"
"Yea… If only it was that simple for Hat Girl." Sven sighed. He whispered the final part of that to himself, but he was sure they heard it as well. She was directly tied into the prophecy, where the clan's involvement was just implied. She had a lot more stress on her plate then they did. That wasn't going to mix well with the… no.. no thinking of that for now. "She'll be fine, she's always fine no matter what happens. When the Moonjumper comes, she'll do her part and it'll be over with."
"And in the chance the Moonjumper does try a fight with her or, anyone. We have him outnumbered." Jaques said, glancing at where his gun was held as Burt nodded. Jaques couldn't help but frown, however. Why did he feel some string of guilt saying those words? Why did he have this strange feeling that the Moonjumper wasn't just going to be friendly, but someone the clan already knew? "We'll be fine." He said to reassure himself, and the others. "Let's just try and worry about it when the time comes."
"Which could be any moment" Burt stated as he glanced away from the sun, looking for any hint of the rising moon. You think they would have long since spotted it by now, but alias, no sight. That brought some feeling to Burt. He didn't know if it was unnerved or at ease, or some strange mix of both. He felt it fade as Fredrick sat beside him, instead being replaced by a warmth he tried not to show. "But for now, leave the story for the story people. Let's just… live I guess? I need coffee." He got a glare from Fredrick. "I’ve gone five days without it while having access, what more do you want?"
"I swear the only reason you're even remotely positive in the way you’ve been is because of the hype for the third game!" Fredrick said, letting out what suddenly felt like a huff as he covered his face while Burt rolled his eyes. Everyone could catch the faint smile he had though. No one said anything, but they all saw it. Burt suddenly pulled him closely, giving a smirk as he blushed. "Oh come on, now you're just trying to embarass me! Can't you give me a break about this kind of thing."
"Oh, posso romperti." Burt said, and Fredrick pushed him away with an angry look and a small chuckle. He couldn't really hide that he found the situation a little funny. “Hey, you say I drive you crazy sometimes so why..” Burt paused as he glanced back over the view, standing up and walking to the closest view of the main peak he could get. He pulled out his phone and used the camera as a very blurry telescope. "Hey, I think they fixed the lift." He called as the others looked over. "I think they got everything we need there as well."
"Perfect!" Sven said, immediately heading to the exit of this peak. "We can get back home and not have to worry about anything else… Today was fun though, I'll admit. Even if I was on the side a lot."
"No, not a tank. Platinum will take it before we can use it." Fredrick sighed with frustration as Sven opened the door to the lift once they got there, glancing down at the next peak they would have to go too. Apparently there were less of these systems when Hat Girl was first on this planet, Sven had no idea how anyone got around alive. Fredrick glanced at Burt. "You know what, spare some coffee for me tomorrow because I have a weird feeling I won't sleep much tonight despite everything."
"Well, maybe next time you'll be more in the action." Calla said, warping her arms around him from behind as he laughed a little, holding one of her hands. Making sure to be more careful this time. That he didn't hurt her. He didn't want to hurt her or the others. Not after all they did to him. He heard her let out a yawn as she let go, heading up to his side. "I'm not looking forward to walking all that way back though." She said, getting a groan from Fredrick. "We need a tank or something."
"Yes, my plan is working." Burt said with a smirk on his face. Fredrick rolled his eyes at that as Jaques shook his head. "Soon you will know the joy of coffee and bow before it-"
Sven shook his head as he heard the two start to bicker. They were like an old married couple already… Oh well, it would help keep them awake on the way back.
It felt like they were going to pass out as they were finally in the home stretch of the way back. Subcon's haunted purple turned into the orange and brown that had become the forest clearing. They all did everything to keep each other sane and awake, talking about what had happened that day and stopping to snack if they started to feel lightheaded. Despite it all, the conversation four of the five had before the lift was broken was still in the back of their minds. The thoughts about one poor child…
They weren't really expecting too see anyone still up when they finally got back, besides maybe Right Hand Man or Macbeth. It had to be past midnight, maybe somewhere close to 4am. They were met with a slight surprise. Hat Girl, Platinum, and Van were racing around in the dark, all wearing some glow sticks they had found while Reginald, Right, and Macbeth watched. It was the first time any of them had properly seen Hat Girl out of her room. She still had a faint, hurt look in her eyes and the way she moved.
But she was comfortable being out now, it seemed. That was good. Her Rumbi was even out, chasing after her while Alexsandera followed behind.
Right leaded back a bit, and that was when he noticed the group. "T'ere ya are, we were startin' to get worried!" He called out to them, quickly saying something else to Reginald before he got up. Sven tried to straighten his posture to at least appear more personal than he was feeling, but that likely wouldn't have done much help. Right eyed the group as he got close. "Are ya all really ok? Ya look like ye were lost in t'e jungle for twenty years or somethin'. Would 'ave come out-"
"No, it's fine. You had other things to worry about." Sven said, shaking his head. He glanced at the others as Calla sat down on a rock to rub her feet, and Jaques was already heading into the station to sleep. Burt and Fredrick were talking to each other, seemingly just to kill time until one of them decided to head to bed for the night. Sven couldn't help but smile, even as he sighed. "I didn't get a chance to do a proper double check, so we might have to sort out a few things. I can check tomorrow for you though."
"Sven! I was wondering where you guys were." Hat Girl said as she came up to him and Right, Rumbi bouncing and beeping by her feet. Sven gave a polite smile. Her voice had less energy than normal, her movements were slower. But they couldn't blame her. He just gave a wave as Hat Girl picked up Rumbi as he went to bump into one of the boxes, letting out a small chuckle. "How were the Skylines? Did you see Adalyn?" Sven shook his head. "Huh, kind of a surprised actually considering how much she appeared lately."
"Yea, things just happen." He let out a yawn as he glanced over at Calla, who was rubbing her eyes as she glanced at him. He let out a small chuckle as he looked at the two. "I'm going to head to bed before I lose any brain cells. I'll see you two tomorrow?" He asked, Hat Girl giving a faint shrug. At least she was being honest. He walked over and offered his hand to Calla, helping her up as they began to head back into the station, the other couple following not long after. Once they had left, Macbeth walked up to the father and daughter.
Hat Girl let out a bit of a yawn before she sighed, holding her Rumbi closed. The air got quieter, and Van and Platinum stopped chasing each other to glance over at her.
"Alright, it's already way past w'en yer supposed to be asleep, Hattie." Right said.
"I know, I know… Before I head off, can I ask something?" She looked at him, a more serious tone to her voice. It was faint, but it was enough for the group to pick it up. Reginald placed a hand on her shoulder, having started to come up once the group that came back from skyline left. "I, been thinking for a bit about it."
"What is it?" Reginald asked, trying his best to hold in his concern.
"Do you remember that stone piece I showed all of you? The one with… you know?" She asked, getting some nods. "I want to head back to those ruins, see if there's anything I missed. I know I should just let things happen naturally but, I feel like I missed something. And, I dunno. Maybe It could help me feel more at peace?"
The group was silent for a moment. Macbeth waved over Alexandra to get him to focus on something else, or appear to at least. This was between the leaders and their child after all.
Reginald and Right both shared a look for a moment. It was kinda funny, how just a look and basic body gestures could be all that was needed to communicate without words. Both were worried, maybe even scared about what would happen if she did. But at the same time, both knew that she had a point. And anything that might give a chance to put their daughter's mind at ease after everything, it would be the best thing they could do.
"We can't, say for certain yet. But we'll talk about it… You just head to bed and we'll see you at breakfast tomorrow?" Reginald asked, Hat Girl giving a nod. "Good.. Platy, can you-"
"She's old enough to take herself you know." Platinum said with a chuckle, but still walked up and took his sisters hand before leading them away from the adults. Van watched the two for a moment before making the briefest of eye contact with the leaders, before beginning to head to their own room.
"If s'e is gonna go back to t'at place, I'm goin' with 'er." Right assured once the group was out of earshot, crossing his arms. "I can't risk somet'in' like t'at broken tower fallin' with 'er in it again."
"I can come too." Macbeth offered, glancing at the two. They both glanced at him and he was silent for a moment, before sighing as he let Alexsandera rest in his arms. "I just.. I want to know more about the Moonjumper. I can't, describe why but it feels like I'm supposed to know more. Like it's the real reason I was brought back. Besides," He patted the Dweller on their head. "My child is from Subcon. I feel like they deserve to know everything they can."
"I'll see if I can find a day with both of you clear to do that." Reginald sighed. He was too tired to add much more to the conversation right now, and he could discuss any extra details with Right the next morning. "Could be sometime next week, could be a month from now, who knows… I just want you all to be careful."
"When am I not careful?" Mr. Macbeth asked, earning a small shrug from the chief. Alexsandera's movements slowed, warping the lower part of their tail around his arm. "I'm gonna take Alex to bed now. You can let me know if any arrangements are made after the next meeting." He said as he went back to the station.
Reginald let out a sigh as he rested his head in his hand, Right wrapping his arm around his husband. Partly as support since the cyborg thought Reginald might just collapse at any moment. "I don't want things to get worse.." he said as he leaned against him.
Right took Reginald's other hand and held it. "Trust me, love, I know."

🌟 get to know people game 🌟
tagged by @anotherdapta what a treat to be tagged :> ty!
Current time: 19:40 (now it's 20:25)
Anything you've been doing lately: i've been getting back into drawabox recently. i'm currently on box 138 / 250 and i won't lie, it's getting pretty tedious. i just aim to get 6 boxes done every day / other day and i sometimes get some free time in the day (when i am "working") so it's a nice timewaster. as boring as drawing boxes is, i can see the results it's having when i'm drawing digitally. my lines are so much more confident and fluid. speaking of digital art, i've been playing around with glitching. i've already had a play with the PNG glitch ruby library, and i want to have a go with pixel sorting at some point. i should draw some more pylons...
Anything you intend to do later: i'm in low power mode now so just chilling for the evening. currently listening to some friends (hello friends!) playing D&D -- just looming ominously in the back of the call on mute. later, i might watch some youtube videos (i've been bingeing this channel that covers strange and unusual deaths) or finish off reading solaris.
Anything you recently watched or played: i'm not normally a TV binge watcher but i watched 3 episodes of severance yesterday and 3 episodes today. really really enjoying it. the cinematography is absolutely gorgeous and i love the set designs. i'm a big fan of anachronistic tech a la fallout and control so severance ticks the same boxes for me. and that's not even to mention the compelling story and fantastic characters (i am PRAYING nothing bad happens to irving and burt. they are too precious).
current i am playing DREDGE which brings some of my favourite video game elements together: inventory tetrix, fishing minigames, and lovecraftian horror.
Anything you want to watch or play: my to watch and to play lists are ridiculously long. top of the "to watch" list is probably the latest stranger things series. i've also been meaning to rewatch serial experiments lain (in fact there's a few anime series i'd like to revisit).
top of the "to play" list...is a tricky one. i guess i really should get round to playing subnautica: below zero since subnautica is one of my favourite games. i also want to have another go with the talos principle because i love the visuals and soundtrack but i gave up with the puzzles around 10(?) years ago. lastly, looking forward to the baldur's gate 3 full release in august and control 2 whenever.
i shan't tag anyone since anotherdapta and godblessyoublackemporer have pretty much hoovered everyone up but if you follow me and this looks cool (or if you don't follow me!) then just pretend i have tagged you :)

anyway, don’t be a stranger :)
It’s a rant :)
I think I have read Solitaire by Alice Oseman a good 20000 times by now.
You can’t blame me though, it is an amazing piece of literature and I seem to have found solace in its tragic storytelling.
It has been a while since I’ve posted anything, no one has read it, but is that really the point? I just seem to exist on this plane and yeah. I found an analysis I did of “The World Is Ugly” by My Chemical Romance, total red flag. 7th grade me was an absolute trainwreck.
I spend 4ish hours a couple weeks ago on my ranking of Taylor Swift’s albums, and my big three are Speak Now, 1989, and Folklore. Not surprising - I grew up on Speak Now, 1989 was a major gift to 10 year old me, and Folklore is my comfort album honestly.
Honestly, I’m considering just putting my name on this blog, make it more personal. Why not? We’re all going to die at some point, might as well name my own diary that’s floating through space and time.
I want to dye my hair dark, it’ll be the second ever time in my 18 years of existence that I have dyed my hair.
My best friend graduated high school this last weekend. I’m so proud of her.
I am always nauseated but I can’t tell if thats because of my F in French or my long-lasting duel with diet culture and societal pressures.
The current song in my Delta-complimentary-headphones is Friend, Please by Twenty One Pilots for no other reason than middle school nostalgia and I am attempting to be an academic weapon (I graduate in less than 20 days and I am having a breakdown about it).
I think that my English teacher is going clinical- she is actually having us use ChatGPT to create a fiction story. Is that not what Hollywood is currently striking? The use of AI in the world of Creative Arts? It’ll be okay, Kai Stormrider (the guardian in this AI-generated mess) will guide me to a hopeful A- at the end of the semester.
Middle school me would absolutely bully Senior year me for using tumblrdotcom to procrastinate a French assignment that I am literally using google translate for. But hey *shrug* we’re on a floating rock.
I accidentally told one of my ?friend’s? that she dumbs herself down for her boyfriends, but I meant she chooses dumb boys to fall head-over-heels for.
I think she’s going to block me.
In Instagram group chats, I send similar messages to this, but I get told that they are “schizophrenic monologues”... can they not just be me recapping the conversation you asked for a recap on? Must it always be something that requires a diagnosis?
I feel like I should be crying as I write this, but I can’t.
My crying wrapped that I have on Google Forms sits unused this evening, with a total of 36 cries so far that I can remember having this year. It has been 142 days since the year has started. I have spent 25% of this year crying. I thought it was less.
The song has changed- it is now March to the Sea, also by Twenty One Pilots.
I think Tori Spring was written for me. About me. To me. I feel so similar to her it’s crazy.
Why do we just write out the full words of “I can not” instead of “I can’t” when we write about period pieces - they used other words. “I mustn’t” for example, still a conjugation, but they used it.
I started another chapstick today. Not because I ran out of my other, but simply because I lost it.
I’ll find it some day. Will I find myself in the way I will inevitably find my vanilla Burt’s Bees?
Life is a bitch.
Hozier played. Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene.
I still haven’t listened to francesca.
I have told my ?friends? about this account, how I use it to cope. But none of them care. A snap back here, a laugh, a text left on read.
Last weekend, I went on a vacation from school for a bit. To go see my best friend as she graduates from high school. It was nice to feel wanted.
I start nearly every line with an I.
I should be more creative.
“I Wish You Would” by Taylor Swift.
What would you wish for?
I don’t know what I would wish for. A break? A trip? An A in the French class I am still procrastinating?
My girlfriend already went to sleep. I love her so much, just everything she does. I feel bad that I feel like this, but I can’t just tell her. We’re long distance so she would worry and I can’t do that to her - I know that is a whole anxious-avoidance style or whatever. But IDK. I don’t want to stress her out or worry her, so I stay the happy, sunny, golden retriever girlfriend.
The Nick Nelson to her Charlie Spring.
She knows I have shit going on in my life, in my mind, but not as much as I really do deal with.
still not crying
Got some Panic!, MCR, and now Scott Street by Phoebe Bridgers.
“do you feel ashamed?”
I have 22 missing assignments, and even less days to make them up. I’ve mentioned that.
I’m going to procrastinate later. Tomorrow. I sign up for where I sit for graduation.
yay.
you are loved,
scorpio (kind of)

Can we have a review of the rest of the cast?
yeah sure i've had 24 hours to process:
david thaxton - javert incredible. perfect. life-changing. honestly, the vintage vibes are insane. he walked down those stairs at the prologue and we knew we were in for an absolute treat. every. single. motion. just clearly has so much thought behind it. he checks the paperwork and LAUGHS while singing '5 years for what you did, the rest because you tried to run.' he kneels down and spits 'that's the way to please the lord' in fantine's face and then laughs when she lunges at valjean. he tries to force valjean to stab him at the barricade. and then from then on he is just shaking uncontrollably, he holds up the gun to valjean in the sewer but he's shaking so much, it's all so clearly inevitable. also full speed suicide too. honestly. you all NEED to go and see this man.
ava brennan - fantine now i truly LOVED her acting in i dreamed a dream, it was so refreshing to have a principal fantine that actually acts the song. however, her vocals were a little shaky but we will put it down to first night nerves! i am REALLY excited to see her grow into the role and think there will be really exciting developments!
nathania ong - eponine i've seen her on tour a few times now and honestly she gets better every single time. her on my own is an absolutely earth shattering moments in the show, her acting is soooo good and her vocals are incredible, easily the strongest voice in the case.
robert tripolino - marius i really had high hopes but at the moment by far my least favourite of the new principals. i think some of his shaky vocals can be put down to nerves but he has a really thin sounding voice that i really wasn't expecting? he was constantly drowned out, not just by natty, but by lulu mae too. not much going on acting wise. his empty chairs lacked much depth and was faaaaaaar too shouty for my liking. can only hope there's lots of improvement to come.
lulu mae pears - cosette easily the best cosette we've had in years. she has absolutely no issues hitting that top note and actually really really acts. i actually found her so much more awkward and endearing than marius in a heart full of love. genuinely loved her in the finale too. so exciting to have a decent cosette at last!! smaller roles:
bart lambert - grantaire hmmm. i enjoyed his acting after gavroche's death but that was about it. didn't really get a sense of him having any connection or reason for being at the barricade. he also really seemed to have forgotten that grantaire's man personality trait is that he is almost constantly drunk. no real fun abc cafe moments either.
donald craig manuel - bishop of digne i didn't love donald in phantom but honestly i loved his bishop! it was nice to have one that made an effort to actually act like an old man AND have really good diction too. (p.s. he doesn't wear shoes)
adam robert lewis - courfeyrac love adam but VERY pitchy last night. hopefully just opening night nerves. also hope he brings a bit more passion to the role tbh.
cameron burt - feuilly lovely voice but need him to sing his lines instead of shouting at least 50% of them.
those are the main new ones i have thoughts on! i also want to add that it's lovely seeing sam peggs promoted and he's a great babet so far! also chris is absolutely wasted as combeferre and puts the rest of the barricade boys vocals to shame (i do get them giving alt valjean the less demanding featured barricade boy tho after luke and jon both having bad vocal issues last cast)
also so many of the male tracks are different now and it's gonna take so long to learn them all!

What are some of the scariest movie scenes ever?
The hillbilly rape scene in Deliverance is a real spine-tingler.
For those who haven’t seen this, one of the most famous scenes in cinema history, it goes like this. A group of four civilized men go on a canoe trip in the South, before the river is dammed to make a power-generating lake for the air-conditioned nightmare of Atlanta and its bland suburbs.
There is the alpha male, played by Burt Reynolds. The soft man, played by Ned Beatty. The refined man played by Ronny Cox. And Jon Voight, who has all three characteristics swirling around in his soul.
While banked on the side of the river, Ned and Jon are accosted by a couple of real bumpkins. The toothless, violent, ignorant, barbaric savage of lore. Ned is raped in the most humiliating, dehumanizing, emasculating manner. Squeal like a pig, anyone?
A look of horror, but also of disgust at Ned for so easily buckling to his attackers, passes over Jon’s face. It’s a brilliant moment in the film.
We all know the trope of affable, civilized people going into the back country and encountering primitive savagery.
It’s a tale as old as time, when exile from the community was the worst possible punishment to confer. These days, we can’t begin to imagine how horrific this sentence was. But before the internet and before world travel, being thrown into the wilds of the other, of “savages,” was a punishment worse than death.
Today we know that most rural people are fine folks. Probably more affable and generous than our neighbors in the city. But the fear lives on. We see it reflected in movies like Straw Dogs, Wrong Turn, The Hills Have Eyes, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and probably hundreds more.
The thing is, if you’re someone who likes going into the backwoods, these fears are very real.
There are a lot of crazy folks out there, and when they meander out of the woods into your campsite, it can get a little weird.
I have friends who go back country skiing, way out in no man’s land. They drive down roads nobody ever goes down, the locals eyeing them suspiciously. With their expensive gear and nice FJ, these guys are a target.
Outdoorsmen and women go missing all the time. They’re murdered all the time. I know people personally who have been killed in the woods.
Not to overestimate the risk, of course. It’s not like you should be afraid to go for a hike.
But there are communities in this country, or any country, who don’t like outsiders rolling into town. Who are actually far beyond the pale of civilization. Communities who don’t like the police, settle their own differences, and know how to get away with murder. They don’t watch Netflix and they don’t know there’s a #MeToo movement. And they’re not too terribly excited that the “yuppies” are discovering the hitherto unexplored natural beauty to be found in their neck of the woods.
My father was a detective. And if there was a body found in the woods in rural New Mexico, you could forget about solving it. Nobody would talk to you. They took care of their own business. And if someone in the community killed a random outsider, nobody gave a shit. They might think it’s a bad idea, it might bring unwanted attention, but they weren’t going to turn a local into the authorities. That’s against code.
And if you don’t think these people exist, and these communities exist, you’re out of your mind.
I’ve had friends who have been camping with their wives or girlfriends way, way up in the hills, when a couple weird, and potentially violent creepers come onto their campsite. They sit and make themselves at home. They don’t leave, even after it gets real, real awkward. It gets scary. They start making crude sexual comments, tinged with violent and aggressive overtones, expecting you and your girl to laugh it up with them. Taking a little offense if you don’t seem to share their sense of humor. We’re all just having fun, right?
I’ve been deep in the woods with girlfriends, when very strange dudes come walking out of the shrubbery and just linger. Weird shit, weird comments, weird vibes. And many times I’ve reprimanded myself for not having a gun with me.
I’ve run into creepy hillbillies in the Yukon, where nobody can hear you scream, and you’re afraid to car-camp that night, staying awake listening for the snap of a twig. Friends who’ve road-tripped across the continent of Africa, who have had genuine moments of fear that the women in their party were going to be raped before they were all murdered, their bodies left to rot in the jungle.
So even though it’s silly to paint all backwoods people as violent nogoodniks, don’t kid yourself. There’s a kernel of truth to it.
If you’ve ever been far from civilization, especially with your best gal, and come across someone (or worse still, a group of someones) who seems kind of off and vaguely menacing, you know what I’m talking about.
Best wishes,
Laemmle-Vision

Gleecap 5x11--City Of Angels
Sam is beloved to me, but also not a leader the way Finn was
YES, BURT AND CAROLE! MY LOVES
I love Ryder randomly raising his suitcase in celebration. He's such a Teenage Boy(TM)
I love the I Love L.A montage! They're having such fun!
MERCEDES JONES! UH-HUH YES YOU ARE FAMOUS
The montage of how Mercedes got famous is everything to me
Throat Explosion looks unbelievably old. Like older than the usual adults-playing-teenagers on this show
Mercedes being exactly a year out of school and already acting like an old woman looking back on her youth truly shows that the show gets us
It's nice to see Marley and Ryder being friends, and Ryder not pushing the romance thing
Aww, Sam brought Finn's plaque
Jean-Baptiste sucks
Poor Carole...
Burt is so supportive I LOVE THAT MAN
Jerk!Jake needs to leave. Jake was so lovely for all of S4, why must they ruin him
THE STARS!!
Everyone leaning out of the bus windows is so funny to me
I love 'the show must go all over the place'
Mercedes is so pretty!!
The Amazonians are probably inevitably going to come in third, but they aren't that great. They just had a lot going on.
Throat Explosion were decent but not anywhere near Vocal Adrenaline standard. Also Jean-Baptiste's face was so distracting
I love the outfits the ND have
Burt and Carole being competitive middle aged parents is my favourite thing and they are the loves of my life
I don't normally like More Than A Feeling but Blaine and Tina sound beautiful on it. It's probably Tina's second best song
Now, anyone who knows me, knows I'm a sucker for Neil Diamond, and I adore America. I'm so glad they did this song
Update: I was in full-body goosebumps for the duration of America
I'm not the hugest fan of Kitty's voice but she really does suit America, which is interesting because I can't think of anyone who sounds less like Neil Diamond
Listen--I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For is a very emotional song at the best of times--this is the perfect spot for it
Oh, Sam
I love the Marley-Mercedes friendship
Oh no--I hate Throat Explosion
I love Carole's face when Burt comments on Finn's rhythm
Truly, even after death The Kiss That Missed will haunt Finn
Roz--an icon.
Poor Schue. he seems so sad.
I love that Kurtcheltana do appear in this episode for about 0.5 seconds

love that haircut 100 album cause like while a lot of new wave has funk and jazz lil sprinklings on it i love how they just revel in it like i love how lemon firebrigade is literally just a instrumental aside from the lil sung part its soooo goood and especially perfect listening to on LP on my nice sound system ^_^ like glad that i experience the album first on LP b4 picking up a CD i kinda feel awakened to llistening to music on LP now. like just getting real comfy w. it ^_^ also in the morning i was so pissed off just stressed wasnt able to get any sleep really cause of dendy peeing and my room smelling awful and then right after that my dads dog lucas threw up and i cleaned it up and let him out but was just exhausted but after that i relaxed and listened to reach out by burt bacharach and then listened to goldfinger score by john barry and played spartan x while listening to it it worked so well since like spy music and martial arts go well together especially with the games obvious game of death influence so that was fun. also since that game is great. buut it was suuuper relaxing putting burt bacharach on and resting my eyes and falling asleep to it :> gonna rly gonna try to get more records in the future and just have a lot of my fav albums on record and maybe even look for like expensive stuff thats my fav like b2 unit and 70s miles davis and stuff liiiike that. tho also i think from now on im gonna try to listen to everything i buy for the store b4 taking it in. im too lazy at listening to music digitally like on spotify or on yt like i just lag so im gonna try to listen to all the records b4 one to check that they dont skip and two to just get more knowledgee :) abt the world beyond just names n stuff. and three also its good to not just take them immediately after cause lots of time the boss doesnt have cash in his register when i go since its like right after they open so its better for me to wait more towards the middle of the day or second half :) saturdays haul was reallly really gooood and im excited to see how it goes from here on out. especially saturdays where im gonna go to two back to back. regretting i didnt listen to some of those albums i got previously buuut from now ill try to do that and like if things continue for the foreseeable future ill probably run into the same albums i found previously so like ill be able to hear them eventually. this job is rly dope i hope it doesnt end and things get better both for me and the store. cause like ya the pay obv isnt consistent and based on how muhc work i put in which is a nice challenge but obv with its disadvantages so like im hoping i continue to find great stuff and eventually it goes to where i can work in the store again and do both. its fun going w/ my uncle and my grandma but i also hope i can drive there alone i nthe future so idont feel too reliant on ppl and also so that i can go at my own pace n stuff. rn i can definitely drive to and from the one i go to thursdays but the saturdays one are tricky and ill have to look up more on google maps. tho yesterday was soooo goood like i found so much great stuff and felt real proud about my finds ^_^
