Heyo! It’s been a bit since I’ve posted art, so here’s a sketch I made for a fic I’ve been reading recently. The fic is called Dog’s Life, and it’s written by @fountainpenguin! 10/10 fic, definitely would recommend, it’s got a lot of worldbuilding, and is just a really interesting story. This is BigB, btw. He’s a moth hybrid and his wing designs are supposed to be cookie inspired.

Ghostface Thriller

This was supposed to be my original fully fleshed out Halloween gig but I changed my mind at the eleventh hour to something else. I only have these very rough shallow sketches to offer that started the whole thing. Read on for a little texting excerpt of their conversation from this moment.

And for one single (quite tame?) Ao3 continuation.

Sirius: you know, this whole conversation is just proving more and more disappointing ghostie

Ghost: Why’s that.

Sirius: well

Sirius: im telling you i think the way you talk is attractive and despite the damning circumstances you’re actually kinda smart

Sirius: me calling you a sick shit made you blush?

Ghost: And sent a jolt straight to my c*** little pretty.

Ghost: Struggling to understand what’s disappointing about any of this.

Sirius: oh right

Sirius: well it’s just you sound hot but obviously you’re not actually you know

A moment passes where Sirius swaps the phone between one clammy palm to the other, doubting his turn of phrase with the radio silence that’d been dealt.

Staring at the bottom of the screen he waited another whole minute for the three dots to appear, which was excellent restraint in his books, before huffing out a breath through his nose and yielding.

Sirius: no ten wears a mask

Sirius: if you were as attractive as your fancy words make you sound you’d make it known

Ghost: You’re trying to unmask me through the phone and here I was thinking I was the pervert.

Sirius: doesn’t pretty get at least one photo

Sirius: of something? anything? to aid my crush :(

Ghost: Ask nicely.

Sirius readjusted, looking up to the ceiling as if he was going to find some sort of resolve there. What wasn’t yet clear, was whether it was the weight of the situation that was getting to his head and making his tummy swoop with this roleplay he’d voluntarily landed himself in, or, he really had a fucking crush.

Wetting his lips, he swallowed and was already blindly tapping out his response before his eyes fell to it again.

Sirius: please ghostie

Moments passed. Deadweight moments where Sirius convinced himself his shadow was moving on its own accord. In reality it was a handful of seconds but it felt like minutes, ticking by with the faint feeling of something hot dripping down the back of his throat.

Ghost: I don’t make a habit of sending selfies to my toys.

Sirius stared at the photo. It was his time to go quiet now, for reasons he planned to take to the grave; an event which may end up closing in sooner than anticipated if he plays his cards wrong.

Ghost: Tick-Tock, pretty. What you looking at?

The bastard.

Sirius: not much apparently

Sirius: i mean nothing i haven’t seen before apart from your legs

Sirius: never seen those out before

Ghost: You a leg man?

Against his will, Sirius giggled. Flushed in an instance from shame and shock and the feeling of very sudden self-awareness, but still had to swallow the tail end of it.

Sirius: am i going to get anything else more

Sirius: motivating

Sirius: i’ve been good all week and followed your orders

Sirius: i haven’t argued

Ghost: Oh, pretty. Come on now.

Sirius: okay but

Sirius: wouldn’t you get bored if i made it easy

Ghost: Clever boy.

Sirius squeezed his legs together, sinking further into the cushions.

Sirius: then reward me

Sirius: please

Sirius: please please please

Ghost: You’ll get what you want soon, but for now…

Another picture came through and for a sharp second, Sirius hesitated. It wouldn’t be his face, surely. He knew that and yet the moment felt pivotal either way as he hovered his thumb over the attachment and tried levelling his rattling heart.

He opened it, simultaneously losing feeling in his fingers and gaining it elsewhere.

Ghost: I wasn’t kidding about that jolt, not that hard yet but you’re doing a good job pretty.

I’m sitting here thinking more about the way Great and his relationship with Tyme is being presented in this show and wondering if this is all purposeful. I’ve been discussing with a few friends today how little it feels like we understand Great’s motivations and choices and how little emotional grounding we have for his romance with Tyme. How much is it driven by the rewinds, by the visions, by genuine connection? What does he think of the accusations Tyme has leveled against his family and does he have any qualms about potentially harming his brother by exposing them? Does he have any beliefs about why this is all happening to him? I have no idea and it feels notable to me that we still barely know our ostensible protagonist halfway through the show.

Meanwhile, others have noted that the show is starting to feel like it’s more about Tonkla. He certainly is getting a lot more screen time than expected and his backstory, motivations, and emotions are better sketched out than Great’s. He is also the only other person in the story who has experienced whatever these timeline glitches are, and a lot of what’s happening hinges on him and Dome.

Korn appears to be the only point of connection between Great and Tonkla, and they don’t seem to be aware of each other’s existence, or at least they haven’t met. But when tracking the events in the two timelines at play, there’s always a connection point through Korn that brings them all together.

I don’t really have a concrete theory here, but I am noting these things and wondering whether the feeling that Great, his relationship with Tyme, and the way he’s moving through the story seems off is intentional. Perhaps there’s a reveal coming that will make all of this track, because it seems unlikely to me that the show would accidentally develop a side character better than its main character.

-when do you think the next pages will be posted?

-how much (if you do have any) have you got done of the next pages are done?

This next one has nothing to do with a ship I like I just generally wanna know if your comfortable telling

-do you have any cannon ships in the comic that might show up later and if so what are they?

For your first questions, your Ask actually motivated to get some sketches for the first two pages today. I’ve been super busy and haven’t been able to draw or anything, but these questions made me want to :).

So I guess this ties into your next question, I have gotten very rough sketches for the next two pages.

My sketches are always super messy as well as my handwriting, sorry lol (I have to try so hard on making my writing legible on the final products 😭). I have no idea when I will finish them, but it’s something!

Next question, I’m still not sure if I will include ships but it will definitely be implied. I really like ships like Killer X Cross, Horror X Dust, so that will probably come up soon.

The way I want them to be portrayed in this comic is to have it be like an unacknowledged relationship that’s more based on necessity or desperation/loneliness? In another story it’d be nice for it to eventually turn into healthy relationships but we all know they wouldn’t be 💀.

That being said, ships aren’t really gonna be the main focus of the story, at least for the next chapter.

That’s all I got! Also, please don’t be sorry for asking questions I love answering them and it makes me happy!!! Seriously, I won’t get mad for Asks unless they’re just weird. Even then I won’t be upset just confused lol

I've been saving this but I can't take it anymore... your art is super cool!! I love the drawing style you have, especially the lines and expressions. Also the dynamic poses and interactions between characters, everything looks so cute but at the same time exciting to keep watching!! I would read a whole manga with your art in it :3

Curious question: what size are your drawings normally? I see that you draw in pencil and many times there is more than one drawing on a single canvas/sheet so I am curious to know approximately the size of your drawings

I hope you don’t mind me using your ask to say this, but…you guys have no idea how much your kindness and positivity has affected me since I started posting my CotL stuff.

I’ve had anxiety since I was a kid, and depression for almost a decade now, and most recently been diagnosed with ADHD and OCD. I’ve had the most lows in my life over the past few years, and my consistency and drive to draw has suffered for it; at most, I’ve posted every other week, but mostly once every couple of months, and even longer than that until now. Being on medication has affected my motivation to draw, and I’ve been on short-term disability for over a month now, trying out new medications and feeling mostly miserable from the side effects.

Despite all that, I’ve wanted truly to finally be consistent with art, interact with people, try new things, and it’s helped so much to have so many people loving the things I’ve come up with. I haven’t been as consistent this last week, and spotty some weeks before that, but you’ve all been so patient despite that, which is part of the reason I want to give you some transparency and vulnerability on my part.

So I apologize if things continue to be a little less than organized or consistent, but I’m going to keep trying my best everyday, because I want to keep bringing you things you enjoy and want to interact with, so…thank you. 🥹

But getting to your question before I really start to tear up…this 9x12 sketchbook by Strathmore (specifically the recycled paper) is what I’ve been using for my sketches for a long while:

And it typically depends on how big or small I think each of the drawings should be, but I do try to keep them on one page if I can just for organizations’s sake.

Also if I know I need to post it from my phone, I try to make things easier for myself by putting things within proximity of each other with my phone’s camera in mind (not the whole page because it’ll be blurry, up and down since that’s easier for me to take a shot with, and so on).

If I’m gonna scan it, that makes things a bit easier, but I do try to condense them enough so I can try and avoid doing two scans of the same page and having to stitch them together (this one below just ended up taking the whole page, and since most scanners - my roommate’s included - usually only scan Letter or A4 size areas, those I end up having to scan on multiple parts and edit them together in Clip Studio Paint).

But of course, it all comes down to what feels right or works with your own method the best (as long as you achieve the outcome you wanted, the tools and method to get there don’t necessarily have to be the “best” or “right” way to do it).

Now for your question.

Ah, burnouts. Those are not fun at all 😔. I definitely can relate to wantin' to start a bunch of new projects, but yet not feelin' the energy to actually start on any of 'em. It's like your body's just not listenin' to what your mind wants. I actually was talkin' to Clarabelle 'bout this and she had some interestin' advice.

She said that sometimes if a project feels too big, we can sometimes feel unmotivated to get started. In that case we could either try and start smaller with tiny things we feel we can do quickly and without much effort. For example when I wanted to work on this giant complex plane model 🛩, I found it was easier to just focus on completin' a single piece each time instead of the whole plane. It took while, but I ended up finishin' the whole model.

She also said that even doin' something that seems unrelated at first, can help inspire you. For example I was really wantin' to get some sketchin' done for a project, but just couldn't get started. So I took a break to watch some TV 📺 and ended up watchin' a really unique show that inspired me with some sketch ideas and I ended up motivated enough to work on the project again.

But I think what she said that really stood out is that we should listen to our bodies. Sometimes our bodies just want to rest, and even though we might see it as bein' lazy or not gettin' what we want done, it's actually more like rechargin' batteries. The time we spend just existin' isn't exactly wasted time.

Clarabelle is one of the wisest friends I have and her advice definitely helped me out. I hope it helps you out too! 😊

Alright so- I haven’t really been working on anything in particular as I don’t know what to work on. therefore- I have some sketches I did on a magma with my best friend! (Apart from the pencil drawing of course).

The first drawing is just a little sketch of 2007 Ruine! I remembered that one Tmnt challenge I did and thought “what would the rest of her look like?” So I decided to draw it ^^. The second one is a new Serafim oc! My bestie helped me make it so that’s very much appreciated <33. And the last two are my DR self, I’ve been trying to shift to Tmnt 2012 for a few years and drawing it gets me motivated so yeah!

I’ve been at hawthorne house for two years now, the girl i once was is now nothing but a scatter of memories. My life had changed in so so many ways, i was an heiress, the richest teenager in the world.... I was also the girlfriend of jameson winchester hawthorne, the boy kneeling next to me.

“heiress, for the game i was thinking,“ he sketched out the shape of box on our huge piece of paper, which was currently being used to plan out the grandest game, “at the beginning of the game, we give each contestant their own puzzle box, that contains a clue, what do you think?“ he turned his head to face me, our noses brushed, “i love that! we could also make them personalized, like we could make them individual to what they find difficult, we could engrave them with details, oh! And the clues could be in different things than paper, like lockets or maybe even rings!“

I looked towards jameson, he gave me no time to prepare before his mouth closed over mine.i felt his long fingers brush my chin, slightly angling my face upwards. My heart felt like a thousand fireworks let off at once, god I loved him. Jameson pulled away, but didn’t move, leaning his forehead against mine.

A knock sounded at the door, me and jameson jumped apart from eachother, gathering our plans and pinning them onto the corkboard. Tge person knocked again, more aggressively this time, that could only mean it was one person. Jameson rolles his eyes and pulled open the door. “Gray.“ grayson stepped inside without invitation. “Ms laughlin told me to tell you that dinners ready.“ he deadpanned, “you couldnt have just texted?“ jameson ruffled his hair and caught him in a headlock, “I thought it would be more practical.” Jameson rolled his eyes again before letting Grayson go.

I waited for Grayson to leave before approaching Jamie, “y’know, we can afford to be a few minutes late to dinner.” Jameson raised an eyebrow, “oh yeah?,” he wrapped his arms around me, “are you suggesting we go and spend some time in our secret spot together heiress?” I nodded, “indeed I am.”

the roof. That was there spot, on top of Hawthorne house, just the two of them. “Jamie?”

“yes, heiress?”

“Where should we go next?” Jameson and I had been travelling the world together for the past year, it had been the best year of my life, we’d visited all the places my mom promised she would take me eventually. Jameson laced his fingers through mine, “we can go wherever you want, although, I have heard of a cliff climb in sicily that might just be calling our names, heiress.” He smiled his devilish smile at me, “sounds fun,” I retorted, “and you haven’t been arrested there yet” he fiddled with my hair, “always a bonus I guess.” Jamesons hand made its way to my ponytail as he pulled me forward for a kiss. It was moments like these that truly made me feel in love with Jameson Winchester Hawthorne.

i haven’t really been into wof recently but i wanted to sketch something yesterday and she happened! might draw more similar designs because i’m trying to wrap up the wof as humans fanfiction that i started writing 3 (!!) years ago and it’s got me kinda motivated 🤷‍♀️

i didn’t really think much about this while i was drawing but i’d imagine that the one on the right is moon at the beginning of the story and the other is her at the end, when she’s discovered herself and her style more. or maybe she just got hair extensions.

hey anon !! My art process is almost non existent cause i haven’t been able to stick to One definitive way and i don’t want to cause i think its limiting. I still have a long way to go for improving my skills and learning new things and figuring out different styles !!

This is something i generally have stuck to for most of my posted drawings (i can post things specific to some drawings on a separate reblog ^^ im just to lazy to get pictures of em for examples rn)

Doodle !! I cant visualize shit, and usually have a very vague idea of what id like to draw Or just nothing at all. So I doodle messily with expressive gestures till’ i find something that sticks

choose one final concept/sketch and clean it up a lil so i have a way better idea of what im getting myself into

Base colors cause i hate doing lineart. So i just go straight into colors casue its fun and i like fun!! Right on top or on a diff layer it doesnt matter. I color pick with my eyes and put base colors or anything i think it would be cool. No pressure and it can messy cause I’ll clean it up and figure shit out later

fuck around and find out (rendering ig)—> i cant explain it super well or definitively. I just layer and throw colors on top till im satisfied or Done with it. I flip my canvas a bunch or check my values to make sure the results come out to look more coherent regardless of the mess of color

Im just a simple person and cant handle something that requires too many steps or things that havta be done Just right so this works for me atm. This may not be your jam but finding a process in that works for you through trial an error is just a part of art. Do what works for you!! I think experimenting is so important even if it sucks in the end

I have so many shitty drawings and sketches and even colored things that outweigh the tiny bits of art i decide to show off

I totally get that creating art can get really discouraging at times; not getting the results you want when you want them no matter how much effort you put in just sucks, but it won’t always be that way :] even if it takes you 10 years to find your groove and see improvement or 2 years, it’ll happen. I find that i’ve only improved when i actively didn’t give a fuck about how my art looks and only cared that i was having fun through it all, and thats hard cause perfectionism is a bitch and its hard to get rid of. You could improve with studies and daily practice for sure but moving towards improvement can be as fun and light n breezy as you want to make it, like taking a break to explore different hobbies or changing up mediums or fucking around and experimenting with it can help !!! Allow ur art to be bad; cause fuck it, at least you made something and thats really really cool. Once you cut urself some slack it’ll be easier to improve upon your skillset and slowly but surely get to where you want

Sorry im a bit tired idk if this is coherent so heres a more direct thing i’d like to say:

Maybe ur art isn’t where you want it to be rn and ik it can kill ur motivation to keep going at it (i’ve experienced this feeling a lot and im sure so have many others). But you gotta ease up on urself and stop worrying about results so you can allow yourself to experiment and have fun!! And its hard getting into that mindset but you gotta keep trying and you’ll find it getting easier

Hi everyone!

It's been a while, hasn't it?

For some of you, this may be the first time you've actually seen me on your feed since I'm on my annual hiatus so... Hi! I'm Seirin, your friendly skeleton lover and author of The Missing Scarf, that one Undertale comic (o´▽`o)

If you were not aware, this blog is usually only active in the summer and/or during the holidays as I'm a student, but I figured I should still write a little smth as I really haven't given any news for a long while now.

So, um, this blog is still very much alive, and so is TMS!   DEMON AU TOO

Truth is, I didn't anticipate back in September the sheer amount of work I'd have to pull off this year as well as the crazy schedule, house mouves, and many, many group assignements... I've always managed but this year is just rough, both physically and mentally (that was new). I had a serious slump around new year and didn't even have the motivation to draw or open social medias for a while. 

But you know me, always ranting that health comes first and that I’ve seen enough burned out artists to know not to go beyond my limits. (*￣▽￣)b  So knowing that I had this 30 pages+ lore doc, unfinished sketches and pile of unanswered asks just waiting for me whenever I wanted to work on TMS, I knew I wasn’t up for the task and had to put it off for later. And later. Again and again. 

That's about it for the venting section.

As of today, I'm still short of time but I've got some of my energy back, enough to write this anyway. But also *drum roll* to work on the next part of TMS! 

And this is where the real announcement comes in: while I'm still on hiatus, I'm planning to adjust the publication schedule a bit for this part. Until now, I'd post a chapter (1 page per day) only after I finished drawing it in its entirety. For this part however, I've decided to try a monthly (or bi-monthly) publication, to give me some leeway, and for you to have actual updates.

We'll see if I can keep up with this pace, but it seems much more satisfying for everyone  ( ´ ▿ ` )

So there you go. Sorry again to those who kept sending me Asks and dms I never got to answer. I just kinda turn into a hermit when overwhelmed or don’t notice them at all (I feel extra bad when I eventually do but every drop of energy needs to be salvaged for irl emergency), but I really appreciate the thought! And, yeah, I haven't disappeared into thin air. I’m just... Lurking here and there.
