#he seems kindhearted and also willing to have fun

Note
Hihi!! I saw your Muichiro x older sibling reader, may I request the same thing except for the other hashiras?? With reader also being a hashira and well, going on missions together?? Please and thank you!! ^^
▸ ANSWERING. yeah sure, it was a bit strange bc i usually imagine the others as the older siblings of the situation haha but it was fun to write <3
Tumblr media
▸ FANDOM. kimetsu no yaiba
▸ CHARACTERS. tengen uzui, sanemi shinazugawa, kyojuro rengoku, giyu tomioka, mitsuri kanroji, obanai iguro & shinobu kocho x gn!reader
▸ RATING. sfw
▸ WARNINGS. platonic! siblings like relationships, r is a hashira, idk if there’s something else that needs tag so in case lemme know + gyomei is missing bc i really didn’t know how to write him as the younger sibling i’m so sorry 😭
Tumblr media
TENGEN UZUI
yes, there are his wives taking care of him
yes, they usually cook for him and all that stuff
but you love preparing bentos for both of you if you have to go together on missions
and he enjoys eating them as much as you enjoy preparing them
you know that he comes off as eccentric and not all people enjoy this part of him, but you’re willing to remind everyone that he’s actually very kindhearted and knows how to be selfless
you defend him from bitchy comments mostly because you see tengen as a younger brother <3
you always watch his back during battles, even if he doesn’t need it that much
his wives are very grateful to you for taking care of their husband when they’re not with him (:
SANEMI SHINAZUGAWA
alright, sanemi is a disaster
you casually grew closer to him really, mostly because you were a pillar yourself
you started taking care of his mansion because,
well.
“don’t touch my stuff,” he sighs, staring at you. “i’m just cleaning the pavement.”
in reality, he feels a warm feeling whenever you take care of him like that
you make sure he eats and rest properly [we all know he uses his blood in battles and it’s pretty careless about his health sometimes]
you always prepare ohagis (botamochi) if you go on missions together (;
he’s your little hotheaded brother <3
KYOJURO RENGOKU
let’s just say he’s still not used to you acting like an older sibling
also because he always took care of senjuro, so
he’s more responsible and knows how to take care of himself pretty well
so, how do you show him affection?
cooking.
you’re always preparing new things for kyojuro and he loves eating them btw
“they’re really tasty!”
you often train together
when you go on missions together you’re super protective because he often acts too selflessly
“i want you to come back in one piece,” you pout at him, making him chuckle. “i will, don’t worry!” he says before leaving for the famous mugen train
oh well,
[but was it really necessary tho ?]
GIYU TOMIOKA
he actually was the younger sibling
but seeing you acting as his older sibling surprised him
did you really care that much about him?
YES WE DO.
he knows how to take care of himself, but does he?
you literally jump at people if they talk shit about him
“he’s just shy!” or “he’s very introverted, he’s not a bad person” and “he’s very humble! he doesn’t look at others as if they’re useless or things like that.”
you almost slapped shinobu once 😭
you love going on missions together because he doesn’t get too embarrassed if you act like his older sibling <3
you deeply care about giyu
MITSURI KANROJI
just like kyojuro, you can show her affection with food
that’s why you’re always preparing the bentos to take on missions together
she’s so sweet and kind 😭
you’re somehow like obanai, you send death glare at whoever seems suspicious of taking advantage of her or talking bad about mitsuri
you know she can comb her hair by herself but you like doing it for her
she’s another one who knows how to take care of her, so there’s nothing to do for you really
but you’re her emotional support !!!
you’re always cheering her up and comfort her if needed
and she’s truly grateful, she loves you dearly as if you were really part of her family
OBANAI IGURO
you found it hard to befriend obanai
but when you finally succeeded you couldn’t help the feeling of i have to be his older sibling!
you make sure he takes care of himself and all that stuff
and you do the same for kaburamaru
he loves getting petted by you
yeah, obanai knows how to make others hate him ngl but you don’t have problems with defending him either
that’s your job LMAO
you know he doesn’t eat much so you’re careful to not fill too much his bento box
you treat him as a younger brother always
no i mean, in every situation
and he’s flustered easily by it if you do that in front of the other pillars (or slayers in general)
SHINOBU KOCHO
girl gets emotional with your actions
she knows what it means to be the younger sibling
you make sure she doesn’t overwork herself
that she sleeps and eats properly
you even take care of her fishes for her when she’s on missions
you train with her and love learning new things from her
when you two are on missions together she often asks you about the most recent thing she taught you lol
“she’s so small, how did she became a hashira?” and you’re quick to snap saying “strength is not the most important thing!”
you know she’s the smartest among them all
and you’re actually very proud of her 🥹
Tumblr media
▸ BEFORE LEAVING. reblog and comments are super appreciated. i hope you enjoyed it, thank you so much for reading !! <3

So anyways I’m making my own links meet au
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are the designs! I’ll go onto more depth about my AU if someone asks but it’s called kore links Teheheh
First: strong headed confident leader (most of the time at least) who’s loyal to a fault with a ‘no funny business’ attitude. Try’s his best to keep the rest of them in check in his own way. Keeps his secrets to himself and himself alone.
Twilight: a kindhearted farmer who despite his looks is an absolute sweetie. He’s the one who actually keeps everyone in check and is like an older brother figure to all of them. Many sleepless nights have been had via nightmares from his adventures and a longing feeling that there’s still a bit of her out there.
Kore/koreidi: a so named high priest/priestess of farore aiding the group on their quest with strange magic and odd abilities. It’s quite odd how she knows everything about everyone else but nobody knows a smidge about them or his past, Half of the time the links don’t even know if they’re traveling with the same person or not. They’re quite rambunctious and eager to see the world but also focused on the task ahead like the sands of time are slipping away from her…odd isn’t it?
Warriors:a level headed captain of the royal army who also just so happens to be second in command to the tallest and the oldest. Cocky at times as a front to others to hide the fact that he HATES how he looks, Not because he’s ugly, but because he’s the reason a war started in the first place. Will never show it but he is one flirt or cat fight away from flying off the handle. All in all he’s a good leader when he needs to be.
Sky: the sleepiest hero by far and surprisingly the one with the most education experience. In by no means should you take him for granted in any way, he may like a nap but his sword skills are unmatched even by the standards of the very first hero! Quite sassy when needed but kind and courageous! The core of what a hero should be!
Wild: a quiet yet resourceful person who tries to not think about his life before the calamity , but it’s always lurking in his mind and there’s always an urge to find links to his past (AHaHAHA). He lost his arm after his last adventure, however purah did find some spare shikah tech that they hadn’t destroyed to make a new arm for him! He’s very close to his zelda and gets insecure talking about his scars. He doesn’t know why, he can hardly remember how he got them. Guess it’s just another reminder of how he failed.
Hyrule: The sassiest hero by far! He’s somehow a hoarder and has nothing on him at the same time. However sassy he may be his resourcefulness is absolutely what makes him such a good fighter! He’s great at puzzles and surprisingly is one of the more strategic links when it comes to dungeons! He’s also quite the magic user- but prefers to keep that hidden! If they ever knew about the fairy thing…yikes!
Wind: a fun loving pirate who loves his family dearly and is better on water than land. As much as a goofball he might seem his big brother attitude and his brave nature makes him a force to be reckoned with! Also surprisingly an astronomer at heart! All in all a brave young hero with the courage of someone 100x his size!
Time: a mischievous little creature who’s main goals are to prank steal and prank more. Despite this however he’s a sweet boy who’s willing to help his friends no matter what. He’s a little confused on his age at the moment but he’s sure he’ll figure it out…eventually! As chaotic as he is he loves giving justice to those who deserve it and will do exactly that!
Ravio: the definition of “I got lost but I’m not complaining”. Ravio is a random researcher kore/koridi found who tagged along in their search for the heroes. He’s a shy man who is a coward of cowardice was a human but when it comes to those he loves a bit of courage seeps through him (though he is practically useless when it comes to fighting). Ravio is, as kore puts it : “a purple deku nut who’s either as brave as a lion or as oblivious as a rock” endearingly of corse

I know next to nothing about engage at the moment, but I would most definitely like to read your thoughts on your favourite or least favourite characters so far! Or anything you like/dislike about the make, really!
Also- I have no idea about anything about the Brodian family besides They’re Royalty but I would 100% die for Alcryst.
I'll be honest, Engage has really surprised me with just how much fun it is!!
(Spoilers below the cut!)
I actually love a lot of different characters. Alcryst is my boy, he keeps outleveling everyone but the healers because I have to take him everywhere. Also, please know that you will not die for Alcryst: Alcryst will die for you (he is 100% willing to throw himself into danger to protect other people because of a frankly massive inferiority complex that makes him believe he's worth less than the people around him; I honestly do not know where this comes from, given that his brother and father love and support him so much, but his brother being perfect in his eyes may contribute in part).
Also, Fogado. I was so afraid I was going to hate Fogado because the pre-release stuff gave the impression of a flirt along the lines of Virion or Inigo, one of my most beloathed character traits. Fogado is honestly more along the lines of Claude in how laid-back and easygoing he seems (while secretly getting shit done), and I love him so much.
(Also, both Alcryst and Fogado are the younger brothers and have an archer class specialty, so between them and Takumi and Claude depending on how canon you consider Three Hopes to be, I apparently have a Thing for the younger brother archers in Fire Emblem games.)
I also love Boucheron. Boucheron my beloved. Buff and kindhearted and everyone is obsessed with his muscles. It's hilarious. But he takes it in stride with incredible grace and also he's just so nice? His supports are all great and also I love setting him up with Lucina's ring because they synergize so well (her special move calls in all allies within two spaces to join in a chain attack, and his personal ability raises his strength when allies jump in to assist like that).
AND YUNAKA. I was so sure that Yunaka was going to backstab us but I was completely wrong and I honestly ended up so attached to her. She's so fun and honestly so silly, which is hilarious since she's literally an assassin or, well, former assassin. "Hiya, Papaya" is now ingrained in my lexicon, thank you Yunaka.
Oh and Zelkov and Kagetsu. They are both utterly delightful in completely different ways: Zelkov is very cool to the point of coming off as intimidating but he has no tolerance for boredom: he teaches himself new things and tries his hand at all manner of crafts and hobbies to keep himself engaged. Also, he has the most interesting inflections in his speech I have no idea what it's drawing from but I love his speech pattern. And Kagetsu is the exact opposite: he's bright and cheery and charming and friendly and so excited about so many things he's so endearing. Also, I don't think that the common langage of Elyos is his first one because he says "I could quiz you" instead of "I could kiss you" and I just. I love him. I love him so much.
I'm also really fond of Alcryst's older brother Diamant, Fogado's older sister Timerra, Rosado the adorable wyvern rider, Merrin the wolf knight who's obsessed with rare critters, Lapis the sword knight who loves a craft project, Jade the meditative knight who secretly writes novels in her free time, Etie the archer with her weighted teacups for getting buff during teatime, Saphira the axe-wielding badass old lady, Framme and Clanne the twin presidents of the Divine Dragon fanclub...honestly it's a shorter list of characters I don't like.
Funny enough, I'm not a big fan of Vander. He might be fine if not for how he comes down hard on Framme for forgetting things, and Framme gives off intense ADHD vibes. I got in a lot of trouble as a kid for forgetting things people told me, so it does not endear me to him when Vander chastises a girl with attention problems rather than trying to coach her and figure out a system that works for her.
I'm also not big on either Hortensia and Goldmary. Both of them are manipulative in different ways but it's extremely uncomfortable; Hortensia gives me Severa vibes with how she tries to leverage her cute looks and get people to fawn and fuss over her, while Goldmary is...almost like a lady Inigo, in a way? She's extremely flirty and kind of full of herself from what I've seen and I just haven't been endeared to her as of yet. I still have a lot of supports to unlock though so all of these might change!
I actually really like a lot of the mechanics in the game! Engaging is such a fun system and I love shuffling the rings around to different characters to see how they work together: giving Marth to an Archer with high speed will absolutely obliterate flying enemies (or just about anything else, honestly) with the extra shot of half damage for every attack they make. Right now I'm abusing Corrin's inheritable Quality Time skill for trying to build up supports because it increases the Support level of all nearby allies after a move (and heals a few points of damage too). Also, having weapon proficiency linked to the Engage rings means you have so much freedom with reclassing: right now I've gone to Advanced class just based on the original base class, but I plan on changing things around once I hit the max level just to see what happens! I think Yunaka would benefit from some time as a Wolf Rider for the Hobble class skill, but Thieves and Dancers are special classes that don't have a level cap at 20 so I'm still trying to find the max level for her. Also, I haven't seen a single normal Base Class that has a unique class skill: only Advanced Classes do, but once you've used a Master Seal once every other Advanced Class change just takes a Second Seal; combined with that freedom afforded by the weapon proficiency system, it's super easy to experiment.
Also I kind of love the skirmishes. Skirmishes level with you: at this point my skirmishes are asking for Advanced Class Level 11 and 12 while the main story is something like Advanced Level 4 or 5. I actually got forced into doing the story at one point because it needed Advanced Classes and I just didn't have enough Master Seals. On top of that, after battle you have an opportunity to run around, adopt animals, pick up items, and talk to your allies! It's really interesting to explore these maps in 3D that you'd just viewed from above or in brief flashes during combat sequences -- some of them are really beautiful, too, like the Solm Palace!
Overall the story isn't bad, either! It's been fun to play through, the cast is delightful, I'm honestly shocked and delighted that for once it's not the desert nation that's the site of the villains, and the dark-skinned characters are absolute gems with some remarkably keen strategizing in play when it comes to keeping their nation and its people safe. Full respect for Solm, I love it dearly (though I will confess that the number of lily white Solmese characters still grates on me: aside from the royal family, every recruitable Solmese character including the dancer is white, despite one of them making it pretty clear from her supports that she was desert born and raised).
That said, it definitely has some of the same flaws that I've seen in Fire Emblem games before it, which continues to be the most uncomfortable aspect to interact with. The villainous nation worships the evil dragon, the only good members of that nation are the ones who don't worship the evil dragon but instead worship the Divine Dragon, the warrior nation is justified in constantly encroaching on the evil nation's territory because they worship the evil dragon, the evil dragon in this case is quite literally devouring the inhabitants of the nation that worships it...there are several aspects that feel like they were lifted from Awakening, but this actually takes it a step further than Awakening ever did and has made Sombron directly and tangibly responsible for the death of a nation. In Awakening we know that Validar orchestrated events at the Dragon's Table in the doomed timeline, so it's not just Grima's influence that caused that disaster; I also don't think it's unreasonable to say that Validar's mind control over both Robin and the people of Plegia at large was only attributable to Grima's influence, since I've always been under the impression that Robin killed Chrom in the doomed timeline because of Validar's manipulation, not Grima's (that cackling at the end of the opening movie sounds like Validar to me, not Robin). My impression in Awakening was always that that Validar sacrificed Plegia to raise Grima, even in the doomed timeline; in Engage, Sombron sacrifices his own people because he's evil, I guess. It's just a bad look and does not lend itself well to crafting a nuanced villain.
I'm admittedly not done yet so hey, that may turn around, too, but my hopes aren't exactly high there.
Also Veyle is precious, I love her, I want to give her hugs and I want Mauvier to live even though I'm pretty sure he's not long for this world (preemptive RIP Mauvier).
Also, if you've made it this far, this is where I'll put the actual big spoilers:
I did not really feel anything when Lumera died. We knew her for a chapter at most, and while her affection for her child is heartwarming despite Alear's amnesia, her death didn't really have any punch because we barely knew her and it was telegraphed in the most obvious way ("we'll talk later and I'll tell you all these things" yeah right I've heard that from a Fire Emblem game before you're not making it out of Chapter 3 lady). Meanwhile, I was completely gutted by the death of Morion, King of Brodia and Diamant and Alcryst's dad. We didn't know him long, really, but we got to see him in action, got to see how he interacted with his kids, how much he loved his family, and how committed he was to the safety of his land and people. And when he was corrupted...you could bring his sons to the fight. And have them face their father. And the dialogues for the brothers when they faced their father just destroyed me. Diamant, worrying he's not ready for kingship, asking his father if he was a good son though Morion no longer answer; and Alcryst, insisting that he has to strike down his father because he knows the task would break the older brother he so loves, and telling Morion that he loves his father and always will. I was a wreck after that, they really pulled out all the stops with those conversations and I am still in pieces honestly.

BTS as shojo manga/anime characters
this is just my opinion but let me know what you think! is there anyone else that you think matches much better?
1. namjoon as kurosaki (dengeki daisy)
Tumblr media
although kurosaki is quite aggressive and has seems to be quite cold, he deeply cares for his loved ones and is quite a mature character. i believe namjoon would be willing to have an unpleasant persona in order to protect someone he loves.
kurosaki is witty, intelligent and sarcastic. he can speak english well but can often be quite clumsy, similar to namjoon.
kurosaki hides his identity to protect someone as it was his friends dying wish, i believe namjoon is loyal and dedicated and so would commit to this role.
(kurosaki is also quite perverted LOL)
kurosaki cares for everyone and often becomes parent like, but there are times where he needs to be cared for and enjoys to be looked after. as namjoon is a leader he is always ready to protect his members and doesn’t often feel comfortable when he is the one who is being taken care of but is still happy and grateful for it.
namjoon is a picky eater similar to kurosaki
2. Jin as tomoe (kamisama kiss)
Tumblr media
tomoe is VERY handsome and those who meet him can barely resist his charms.
tomoe is often strict with nanami (fl) but it is because he cares for her and so often lectures her when she is clumsy and comes home late, similar to jin who is always looking out for his members.
tomoe also is very protective and saves nanami multiple times, i believe jin would give up his life to save the ones he loves as he is very kindhearted and selfless.
tomoe is often quite sarcastic and can seem old fashioned, which reminds me of jin with his dad jokes.
3. yoongi as kyo (fruits basket)
Tumblr media
the first resemblance for me is kyo is a cat and yoongi often reminds everyone of a cat due to his features and soft actions.
at first kyo has a tough outer exterior but as he spends time with tohru, he slowly opens up and heals, becoming more kind and full of live. this is similar to how yoongi used to be referred to as ‘cold’ but as he’s grown up with the boys he has shown his fun, carefree side.
kyo becomes more calm and emotionally mature which is more like yoongi compared to kyo at the start of the series. he was always sensitive and vulnerable.
kyo possesses qualities of empathy, selflessness, patience, supportiveness and often gets embarrassed if people see his soft side- like yoongi.
finally, kyo is protective of those he loves.
4. Jhope as kazehaya (kimi ni todoke)
Tumblr media
kazehaya is always smiling and is known for his big bright smile, similar to hobi.
he’s very lively, outgoing and positive.
he’s always looking after everyone and goes out of his way to cheer his friends up.
he is often too nice for his own good and has a sensitive heart.
but he is also known to be quite scary when he gets angry, like hobi.
he stuck around someone who appeared to be quite cold and enjoyed being the sunshine around her to make her happy and bring out her true personality, hobi is like the sun for bangtan.
5. Jimin as kyouya sata (wolf girl and black prince)
Tumblr media
kyouya has a very sweet and kind outer appearance like jimin.
he is referred to as a prince which is what jimin is most like.
kyouya is secretly sadistic, although jimin isn’t exactly sadistic, he often enjoys teasing the other members.
just like jimin, he gets quite jealous and is possessive over those he loves.
i feel as though jimin has a very cute soft side to him but would ultimately be a tease towards his gf, just like kyouya.
6. Taehyung as Kou (Ao haru ride)
Tumblr media
firstly tae looks like kou and has similar features/ facial expressions.
like kou, tae used to be a lot more childish and outgoing when he was younger, but as he’s grown we have seen a more calm and collected side to him (his outgoing side is still present but he has more qualities now!)
tae can be quite blunt and sarcastic as seen on weverse- like kou. but can also be quite sensitive deep down.
i feel as though tae would suit the role of being quite closed off before opening up to those he likes as he seems to be quite protective of who he is around.
in the manga, we see later on that kou becomes quite mischievous and cheeky as well as more carefree, which is like tae.
7. Jungkook as Hak (Akatsuki na yona)
Tumblr media
firstly jungkook reminds me of have physically as Hak has quite a strong body.
hak is very loyal to those he respects and takes their opinions seriously.
he cares about those he loves and is willing to sacrifice everything because he devotes himself, both emotionally and physically- similar to jungkook.
he loves to tease and is mischievous- jungkook seems like the type to tease his gf(!).
he is protective and fulfils every need.
hak is extremely talented like jungkook especially in martial arts and is one of the strongest fighters in the country (although i do think jk is more similar to usui in this aspect).
finally, he is a romantic and feels love very deeply.

So after me and @princesspastella started on our self-indulgent nostalgia trip of watching TTTE together, we ended up developing an Idol AU bc that's just the brand of weeb we are. I ended up writing some au-specific character descriptions for fun, and I figure I might as well share them on the off chance ppl actually find them entertaining
THOMAS
A newbie idol with much to prove. Thomas can be rather cheeky, and his tendency to act without thinking often lands him in some sticky situations. Despite his lack of experience, he fancies himself a leader to his fellow idols at Shining Time Productions, even though he's not always taken seriously. He is cheerful and sociable, but has a habit of involving himself in the affairs of others, and sometimes he can be a bit too honest. Thomas' mood and whims are somewhat unpredictable, and he will oftentimes act according to however he feels at the time, even if it might inconvenience those around him. Though he can be impatient and forgetful at times, he rarely strays from his convictions, surmounting strife and stress with his own brand of blinding optimism. He's also a fiercely loyal friend, and is shown to be especially protective of his best mate Percy. His singing voice is playful and authentic, making for performances that are vibrant and brimming with confidence.
PERCY
A rookie idol with an endearing personality. Percy is kindhearted and friendly, albeit somewhat timid and more than a little clumsy. Though he's easily swayed by the words of others, he has an overall chipper outlook on life. He is also shown to be a bit scatterbrained at times, prone to daydreaming and getting caught up his own fantasies. This, combined with his fearfulness and tendency to take things at face value, makes him an easy target for James and Gordon's teasing. Having been an avid idol fanatic from a young age, Percy has always wished to become a popular idol so he can shine on stage just like them. Though Percy has matured quite a bit since he was initially scouted, he still falls victim to occasional bouts of naivety and misunderstandings. With a bright, charming singing voice, he delivers lively and cheerful performances.
JAMES
A pretty boy fashion model, with an attitude to match. He has a sizeable female fanbase, second only to Gordon (a fact which frustrates him to no end). Though he seems superficial, James is shown to take his idol career seriously and is a surprisingly hard worker, even though he still complains when he's forced to take on menial gigs. He relishes in the attention of others and will get increasingly agitated if he's ignored, and he doesn't always enjoy sharing the spotlight. This, along with his flippant and selfish behavior, gives off the impression that he doesn't care much for others. Beneath all his vanity, however, James has a heart of gold. He is quick to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it, and he will frequently take the rookies under his wing. Though he has a sharp tongue, he's rather submissive underneath it all, and he's often teased by Thomas and the others for it. He considers Gordon to be his main rival, though this sentiment appears to be largely one-sided. On top of his idol work, James engages in various modeling gigs. Accompanied by his sweet and luxurious singing voice, his performances are dramatic and full of flair.
EDWARD
An older idol, though still fairly new to the industry as a whole. Edward is a hard worker, polite to everyone he meets, and always willing to lend a hand to those in need. With a soft and cordial personality, he regularly plays mediator for the often antagonistic James and Gordon. Edward has been described as having a calming presence, and due to his compassionate and non-judgmental nature, others often confide in him. As an idol, Edward ironically tries not to stand out, preferring to let his unitmates have the spotlight. He strongly dislikes conflict and expresses a genuine desire to get along with everyone, something that fortunately comes easily to him due to his friendly and considerate personality. However, his easygoing nature does sometimes put him at odds with his more ambitious unitmates. With a mellow voice that seems to embrace you, his performances are as gentle as they are powerful.
GORDON
A part-time trainer turned full-time idol. Gordon is strict with both himself and others, and is willing to do everything in his power to achieve his goals. Though he prides himself on his refined sensibilities and dignified persona, Gordon is inclined to bragging and can be quite the showoff under the right circumstances. While he may seem overly serious, and perhaps a bit moody, he becomes rather flustered when things don't go according to plan. Despite his boastful tendencies and heightened sense of self-importance, he is ultimately well-meaning, and is happy to help his unitmates reach their full potential. Gordon can often be found staying late in the practice rooms so he can keep up with his idol training despite his tight schedule, showing his commitment to self-improvement. His harshness is often interlaced with an overbearing fussiness and perfectionism that renders him unable to sit back and watch while others fail. He delivers a sharp, alluring voice that carries well, along with sophisticated and precise performances.
HENRY
While Henry is diligent and caring, he is easily swayed by his surroundings and is somewhat high-strung. Despite not having much natural talent, he can be very stubborn once he sets his mind to something, and his resilience and ability to keep trying in the face of any hardship is something many people find admirable about him. Though he is a very hard worker, his frequent bouts of illness often hinder his training. Henry also has something of an inferiority complex, stemming from him seemingly being the only "average" person in an industry full of talented individuals. This, combined with his somewhat pessimistic nature, gives him an altogether negative view of himself as a person, and he often expresses concerns about feeling inadequate compared to his peers. Regardless, Henry never lets his low self-esteem get in the way of working hard and improving himself so that he might one day achieve his goals and become like the people he admires. He greatly looks up to Gordon, attributing much of his own success to the other's influence and trying his best to imitate him in certain respects. a mild voice that wavers deeply as he sings, his performances are soft and lingering.

Dsmp Hogwarts AU, except it’s all the characters and I go into why they are what they are, please reblog this took a long ass time
Man, what a title Huh? Anyways, this will obviously go over the characters and not the content creators, because in some cases those are vastly different
Also, before we start, I will go over an important thing that I will mention probably a few times, and that is the difference between Hufflepuff Loyalty and Slytherin Loyalty.
Both of these houses value loyalty, but in very different ways. Take for example that you’re a spy who has their best friend as their partner, and you’re out on some super important mission. Let’s also say that your partner got shot and is close to death, and the only way to save them would be to abandon the mission entirely.
A Hufflepuff would try to complete the mission because it would be the best for all, while the Slytherin would abandon the mission despite the fact that it could result in countless deaths, just to save their friend.
See it as Selfish Loyalty vs Selfless loyalty. Both are great things to have, but are still different.
Anyways, on with the show
Tomathy Danger Kraken Careful Innit
I have seen people try to argue that this boy is a Hufflepuff because of his loyalty and such, but gosh darnit everyone this child is a god damn Gryffindor. I mean, one of his main character traits is that he’s brash and too brave for his own good. The reason he got fucking exiled is because he burned down George’s house without thinking of the consequences, and then just screamed at Dream without thinking of the consequences. The same goes for Ghostbur’s “death”, it was because he had no real plan except Stab Dream with an axe. So yeah, Gryffindor
Wilbur Soot
Slytherin, 100%. This man has created one and a half nation, one entirely out of spite, he was both a general and a president, he’s a smart lil fella, and he managed to hold his own against the god of the server. I don’t even thing you guys wanna argue with me here
Tuberculosis Underscore
This one is tricky, because it’s really between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw for me. Like, he does possess the Hufflepuff loyalty™ plus he is very kind, but he’s also one of the more logical and observant characters we have in this server (The bar is very low let me tell ya). But I think I will have to go with Ravenclaw, just because like, the boy invented nukes. He built fucking nukes. So yeah, a very chaotic Ravenclaw that will spout bee facts at you, be prepared
Technoblade
My man is a Ravenclaw, no doubt about it. I mean, he started talking about an old greek myth in the middle of a war? Just Ravenclaw things amiright?
Philza Minecraft
I will have to go with Slytherin on this one, simply because of the large amount of Slytherin Loyalty, but also because of his cunningness and resourcefulness, but for real this was very tricky, simply because I don’t like to think about c!Phil too much because as some of you may know, I kinda hate him (Not the cc though, obvs, he’s awesome)
Ranboo My Beloved
Hufflepuff. This boy’s ideology is literally “Choose people, not sides”, he’s an honest and compassionate boy who works hard, and has a very open mind. He’s literally the by the book Hufflepuff
Eret
Honestly, Slytherin. I mean, they are ambitious as fuck, both shown by them betraying L’Manburg for the throne, but also by working hard towards their redemption arc. They are also a good leader of the smp, and in general a great role model to have
Nikki Nihachu
This one is actually difficult, simply because Nikki has gone through quite the character arc the past couple of months. She started out kind, sweet and loyal, a classic Hufflepuff. Then she joined the syndicate and straight up tried to kill a child, which is less Hufflepuff but who am I to judge. But in her core, as seen through her discussion with Jack about Tommy’s revival, she is still a good person that works hard for what she believes in, wants the best for everyone (Despite sometimes working in her best self interest) remains kind through it all. So yeah, Nikki is a Hufflepuff, just a bit of a sadistic one. But we can’t all be perfect ya know?
Fun Jonathan Michael Vincent Georgina James Sus Dy Soot
Ah, my favorite character, and also one of the best examples of a Ravenclaw. And I ain’t saying that just cuz I’m a Ravenclaw, Fundy is one of the most Ravenclaw characters out there. He’s creative, Clever, Spontaneous, Witty, Curious, Sharp, and a real trickster. The idea of Ravenclaws being the goody two shoes kids that always does their school work is just false, we never do our Homework and instead sit and read about things we find interesting, and Fundy is a good example of that. Also he was quite the eager learner during the Dreamon Hunters arc, which again is a good example of a Ravenclaw. So if Ranboo is the by the book Hufflepuff, then Fundy is the by the book Ravenclaw.
Dreamwastaken
I’m pretty sure it’s confirmed that Dream is actually a Slytherin, and I ain’t arguing with that. This boy is cunning, sly, a leader, traditional, Self-Preserving, and a master with words. There is not much more to say here, apart from the fact that Slytherins main colour is literally green, so it all checks out, this boy is a snake.
George Lore
Mr not found over here really is hard to pinpoint down, simply because his main character trait is his apathy, which isn’t really a trait for any of the houses. I was discussing this one with my girlfriend, and both of us were pretty clueless of what to do with him. I was thinking if Hufflepuff since they take the ones that don’t fit anywhere else, but then I was reminded of the most recent Dream XD stream, which showed us one thing, and that is that George is clever, observant, and Sharp Minded, all the traits of a Ravenclaw. Sure, he could also be Slytherin as he was both cunning and sly as well, but I think Ravenclaw fits him more personally.
Sappitus Nappitus Boyhalo
Finally we have another Gryffindor, there’s been a serious lack of them on the list. My man is a fighter, he’s bold, he’s brave, he’s passionate, he’s confident, and he doesn’t really think that much of the consequences of his actions (Cough the pet war cough), so yeah this boy a lion.
Punz
Ah, Punzie, the mercenary themself. Tbh, I know very little about them because Punz don’t get involved that much in lore unless they are hired for something. I mean, they were in the eggpire, but even then they were barely involved, which is sad cuz I like Punz. But what we have seen of Punz is that they are someone who does not care about you or what you want, as long as you pay them. They are power hungry and self preserving, which means that I have to put them in Slytherin.
Jack Thunder1408 TV Manifold
The boy who I can’t help but be sympathetic towards. Jack is also a hard character to pin point because of the reason that he’s gone through quite the development. Jackie boy is a very broken character that has literally been through hell, so it’s hard to properly sort him. He’s quite confident and clever, yet cunning and resourceful, so for me it’s either Slytherin or Gryffindor. But I do lean towards Gryffindor more, partly because of his stubbornness and gullibility, and part because of all the fire imagery that’s associated with him. I mean, the cc described him as burning inside, he’s been through the scape of fire and death, and he burnt his nation to the ground. In case you didn’t know, Fire is the element of Gryffindor, so yeah, another red and gold boy.
JSchlatt
Schlatt is as both charming, charismatic and calm in the early days, using subtle manipulation tactics to get his way and achieve ultimate power. He’s ambitious, narcissistic, cunning, and tyrannical, while still hiding it all behind a facade of smiles and waves. He could also be both cruel and irresponsible at times, aka the time he had an underage child drink during an event, but ya know, mistakes. So all in all, I think it’s pretty clear that he’s a Snakey boy.
QuackityHQ
As much as I love CC!Quackity, I also fucking hate him because of the many, many different directions he’s taken this character which makes it possible for him to fit in literally any of the houses. The duckie is both Chaotic and lawful, he’s both friendly and hostile, he’s a smart cookie and a fucking dumbass, so like bruh. But, I’m gonna have to go with how he is now, which is manipulative, power hungry, cruel, and strong willed. Aka, another Slytherin.
Karl Jacobs
Finally, a character that is not broken down to the point of barely making out a readable personality. Karl is a kind and funny person, who is very open to new people considering how often he gives tours to visitors and new people, and he is quite literally loosing himself traveling through time in an attempt to help people. Hufflepuff
Awesamdude
This one I know will be controversial, but I’m saying Hufflepuff on him. Sam is one of the best cases of the Hufflepuff loyalty, literally letting both Tommy and Ghostbur be stuck and ultimately die in the prison just so he wouldn’t risk Dream breaking out. Before that point he was very kind and gentle towards Tommy, literally building a robot to keep him safe and take care of him. Sam nook is a reflection of Sam’s feelings towards Tommy, and they are kind and gentle.
Dropsbyponk
Ughhhh, another tough one. Ponk is a chaotic being who is mostly neutral in conflicts, but is shown to be very open about their feelings towards those they care about, like Sam or Foolish. They seem to be have strong feelings in what they believe in, and can be a bit brash sometimes, not really caring about the consequences of their actions, which is what makes me say Gryffindor for them.
Badboyhalo
Our favorite muffin demon. I assume, I don’t know what life you live. Anyways, Bad is like the stereotypical Hufflepuff. The kindhearted, well meaning, sweet, responsible Hufflepuff. The Hufflepuff that’s like in all of those incorrect quotes blogs and “Slytherin and Hufflepuff friendships uwu” posts. But for real, Bad is very Hufflepuff. He does however have Slytherin Loyalty, considering he pretty much sacrificed the entire server for Skeppy, but if you would try to convince me that Bad is a Slytherin I will just laugh at you
Skeppy
It was at this point I realized what I’ve gotten myself into with this post, which you know, not fun. Skeppy is both cocky and filled with energy, with a real ambition to cause chaos. He’s also shown to be willing to sacrifice himself for the person he loves, Bad, when he gave himself up to the egg. I’ve seen some people say Slytherin, but I’m kinda getting Gryffindor from the lad, so yeah, another lion.
Antfrost
Frosty here is a kind hearted person that for the most part seem to be along for the ride. He reminds me a bit of a parent of toddlers, with his patience and serenity towards the more chaotic people on the server, so of course my natural instinct is Hufflepuff. Buuuuut, then there’s again the issue with the egg and the Slytherin loyalty, this time towards his boyfriend Velvet who he was willing to join a cult for (relationship goals) but again, you can’t really say Ant is a Slytherin considering how wrecked he was about what he did while in the eggpire when he was released from it’s grasp. So yeah, Puffle boy
Captain Puffy
Oh captain my captain, you are such a Gryffindor. And some of you may disagree on that, stating that she’s a Hufflepuff or something (I did research before this to check what other people think, I know) but naaah, she a lion. Puffy is very motherly and protective towards other people on the server, especially the minors, but in the way that a Bear is protective towards its cub, which is gentle towards them but fierce towards others. Puffy also falls natural in the role of a leader as seen with Pro-Omelette, but that is kinda expected since she’s a past Pirate Captain. But she wasn’t the leader she was supposed to be, as she waited quite a while to act against the eggpire out of fear of hurting her friends, which lead to quite the damage towards the rest of the server. She’s also been shown to act on impulse, killing Antfrost and taking one of his lives after he killed her son. Idk if this is a good explanation of why I believe Puffy to be a Gryffindor, it sounds more like I’m claiming her to be a Slytherin or Hufflepuff, but she is a Gryffindor I promise!
Foolish Gamers
Foolish is a kind and friendly being, if not a bit naive and easily distracted. He’s also not the brightest person, in fact I’d go as far as to call the guy a Himbo, and he can be a bit skittish sometimes if he’s stressed or haven’t taken a break in a while. But despite it all, the guy is someone who’s creative and hard working, with a brilliant mind for his building. The man is an artist who can get grumpy if you suppress his creative aura, and put his heart and soul into his works. He also has a habit of getting wrapped up in big projects, and ignoring sleep or personal care until he’s finished them. This all leads me to say that Mr Gamers is a Ravenclaw, just not the smartest one. But hey, we can’t all be geniuses, can we.
Slimecicle
Slime is very naive and very trusting towards people around him, taking every word they say as a fact. He can also be a bit dark and ominous at times, but quickly shakes it off as nothing important. This all makes him quite childish, which is very hard to sort, so I’m gonna say Hufflepuff for his friendliness and move on.
Purpled Bedwars
I actually started loving this guy the minute I saw him, purely because Purple is my favorite colour, like my man has taste. Purpled, like Punz, is a guy who helps whoever pays him the most. He’s not interested in most things on the server, too busy looking out for number one (And Dogchamp of course). He’s very self reliant and resourceful, but still quite passive. He may not be the most ambitious guy, but Purpled is definitely a Slytherin (It also brings me and my girlfriend Serotonin knowing that the mercenary siblings are both in the same house, we love those two)
Hannahxxrose
I don’t watch Hannah that much, but god I love her voice, it makes my lesbian little heart happy. Hannah is a friendly person who is very naive about the conflicts on the server, thinking it all can can be solved by placing a rose (God I wish). She’s a good decorator and a good hearted person, who unfortunately fell victim to the egg’s influence. I’m going with Hufflepuff on her, but I’m honestly not entirely sure as I don’t know that much about her.
HBomb94
H is a very well meaning person that only really wants people to be friendly towards each other. He had a strict moral code and he keeps to it, as shown where Fundy tried to get his help with blowing shit up. He’s very helpful to those who ask and is willing to back up his friends when it’s needed, which makes me say that the friendly totally not dirty cat maid is a Hufflepuff.
Connoreatspants
I just want you all to know that I’m writing this before Connor’s lore stream that surely will just go against everything I say because fate hates me, just so ya know. Connor is not a person that does stuff on the server with lore and he for the most part keeps to himself, so this is a bit hard. Connor also has this thing where he likes to say things just to confuse him, and also making a bit of cursed lore, but he’s still a fairly humble person. He does lie and steal a bit, and has this habit of moving into other people’s houses, but I digress. I’m actually leaning towards Ravenclaw on him, for some reason, so that’s what I’m going with until I have more of an established character.
ItsAlyssa
I know she has left the server and stuff, but she was one of the original members so it would be a crime not to include her. Alyssa is a bit chaotic, often going on killing sprees, or burning down the trees outside of L’Manburg. So I’m placing Alyssa in Gryffindor, but to be honest I don’t really know at this point.
Callahan
How do you sort a person who does not speak, stream, or show like anything of his personality? The answer is, you don’t. Hufflepuff is the house of those who don’t fit in anywhere else, and that’s where I’m placing him.
Vikkstar123
Please log onto the server I’m begging you, I didn’t watch you as a kid and honestly know nothing about you. From what I’ve seen of Vik he’s a very humble person that tries to stay out of it all, instead forming a land together with his bro Lazar. Honestly my instincts say Ravenclaw and I trust my instincts, so I’m putting him in Ravenclaw
Lazarbeam
Lazar was actually a big part of the exile arc which I realized after already have written his, so now I gotta rewrite it. Lazar is fairly ambitious on the server, and has the goal to obtain the most powerful objects on the server just to rival the other strong members of the smp. He’s especially against Tommy, and aims to do a lot to be the opposite of him, aka well respected and not a war criminal that got exiled (Totally fair goal). Despite that, he was able to show some empathy to the British child, even going as far as to give him a disk during his exile. This all makes me say Slytherin on him.
Michaelmcchill
Newest boy. Michael is a very apathetic person, showing little to no empathy towards most people’s trauma on the server. The person he does feel empathy for however is Dream, who of course did nothing wrong and is locked up in the prison which is just horrible oh no. Michael just truly does not care about what you’ve been through (as of now) which is why I’m gonna say Slytherin, because he does have Slytherin loyalty towards Mr Was Taken.
TL;DR

Prestige
Chapter one - Welcome to Weltingston Heights
Sanders side fanfiction
Idea by: @hestianerd1
Wordcount: 1094
Pairings: so far the main one is prinxiety :)
TW: cursing and some hostility, but let me know if I've missed any! :3
The summery of the whole story: Prestige. Such a simple construct. All you have to do is act the way you want people to perceive you, keep up the image, wear a big proud smile and never ever dare make a mistake. That’s why Weltingston Heights University is such a well known school. Everybody knows that anyone who got in must have some prestige tied to their name. Educational records, family history, or even literal fame. So why not treat students the same way? Because what’s a little more pressure on their young and strong bones?
But prestige and image are precious things. You slip up even the tiniest bit, step out of the line you drew for yourself and it’s all gone. So now that the pressure is on, and everyone already knows their place in this small circle of society, only one question remains. How far are they willing to go to keep the false image up?
(Or: Very over-dramatically with a noticeable amount of sarcastic undertone: "Oh my god! They were roommates!")
---------------------------------
Chapter one - Welcome to Weltingston heights
The halls were packed. So packed in fact, Virgil barely had space to move around. And that rarely was the case!
Usually, people just cleared a path for him - not wanting to catch a disease or something he presumed (rumors are so stupid). Mostly, people just feared him.
When you’re growly all the time, with a hoodie on, head low and headphones on, people tend to react that way. And the makeup and dark clothing probably didn’t help either.
Either way, they usually ran the moment they saw him.
But not today - no! This day out of all the days they could’ve chosen - they chose to not scatter. The filthy glory of move-in day.
Welcome to Waltingston Heights.
This day was already a nightmare. And yet another new room and roommate on top of it and Virgil was ready to throw himself over the ledge. He clutched his box to his chest and swallowed hard.
Just breath Virgil. You’re almost there. Count your steps. - he thought.
Room 223… 227… 234…
Room 236. Finally.
A quick (and very clumsy) fumble with the keys and Virgil was shutting the doors behind him. Hard and fast - falling against cold hard wood in the darkness.
Thank God for the hot weather outside - the staff had to close the curtains to protect the rooms at least a little from the boiling sun. Deep breath in, deep breath out. Two more trips to his car. He can do that. Obviously, he can.
But maybe he’ll unpack this box first. People might just thin out in that time.
And so, V took of his backpack, forced his legs to work and took a good look of the room.
Not too big, but bigger than what he had at home. One bathroom and a small kitchen of to the side. This pretty much supplied as a small apartment - just like the exact same looking once from previous years. It was suitable. Livable in.
Now, only if the roommate situation was the same.
It wasn’t the question of who, honestly, but rather why anyone at all? He did go to headmaster Berry with this, but that helped nothing. The man lacks empathy and that’s all he’ll ad.
Dropping the box on one of the beds (right side. Always the one under the window.) he started pulling out pieces of identical clothing and neatly folding them away into the drawers. Setting up a small table-lamp, an alarm clock. Dealing with the bed sheets.
Pushing the box aside, he fell onto his new bed. Home for the next two months max.
It didn’t matter who the roommate was, they always eventually requested him moved. Without fail. (Those days the old man decided to show some empathy - how convenient.) But they were in the right - he didn’t blame them. Didn’t like them as much, either.
He had to get up and go get those other boxes. He knew it. But he didn’t really want to leave the safety of the quiet room… And his idiotic ass also left his headphones in the car… Okay. Deep breath.
It was on his third trip back - the last one thankfully - when the students finally started thinning out. No more stupid elbowing through crowds, no more unwanted bumping or pushing. Not nearly enough space yet, but better.
Balancing the box in one hand, he reached out for the door handle. He was about to push the door open when it got yanked, pulling V with it.
Laud laughter and chatting filled the anxious boy’s ears. “Oh my, I’m so sorry! Are you alright?”
“Obviously.” he grunted elbowing his way into the room. Plopping his box down, he turned to actually face the guy he had to spend the two weeks with (didn’t give it longer).
And god, out of all the people in this school, it had to be this guy. He hated this situation. Eyelids lowered, mouth a thin line, Virgil growled. “You.”
“The one and only. Roman Velez.” the other bowed with a grin. A young girl behind him giggled at the sight and said something in Spanish, which made the actor grin even wider. “And you, dark and broody, must be my new roommate.”
“Not for long hopefully.” V grunted, turning back to his boxes and starting unpacking again.
Was it really too much to ask for some quiet and piece this year?
“I didn’t catch your name, emo.”
“That’s ‘cus I didn’t say it, dumbass.”
“Such pristine vocabulary. I just asked to be polite, anyways. I know you’re Virgil Reat. Everybody knows that.”
Virgil was just about to quip back when a completely shocked high-pitched voiced beat him to it. “That is him?!” the girl squawked.
Roman immediately fixed her with a glare. “Shut up, Cas. Go help dad.”
His sister was the best thing in the world, but she just could not keep her mouth shut. “Oh my god! Ro! You-“
“Now.”
“Wait till dad hears about this!” and she was gone, evil giggle fading with distance. Leaving the two boys in the not-so-small room.
Roman looked back at the short bundle of unhappiness and wondered what went wrong in the board-members heads to assign them as roommates. But he couldn’t say that out loud, now could he. So, he went with the next best thing - when in doubt, wear a smile and act friendly. “You don’t have much decoration.”
Virgil just razed an eyebrow. Then gestured at Romans’s side of the room. The man had literal toys everywhere. Glittery letters, a plush unicorns and bunch of stuff from plays he assumed. Like that sword hanging on the wall over there. Were they even allowed to bring weapons (no matter if fake) to school? “There wouldn’t be no place to put it with all the shit you brought.”
“Well, I’ll let you know, these things are not ‘shit’. They hold emotional value. And at least I’m not afraid to express myself.”
“And that’s exactly why most people find you annoying.” and with that (and a very cruel, obviously fake, polite smile), the box was tossed to the ground and V’s big black noise-canceling headphones were finally on his head. Blasting whatever his crappy phone would offer at that exact moment.
Roman was left staring at the rude little leprechaun laying on his bed. Ignoring him!
“Hey!” he called out. But V only turned the volume up and closed his eyes.
Roman scoffed in disbelief. “Welcome back to Weltingston, I guess.”
This is going to be a fun year.
---------------------------------
Welcome to a new series! I hope you'll enjoy it <3
(Also, I wrote Roman Spanish because I just love the concept, but I don't really speak or know much, and I really don't want to come of as offensive! That's the last thing I want... So if anybody out there is kindhearted enough to help me correct anything that might seem off or with some correct translations into Spanish in later chapters, I'd really appreciate the help! (I don't trust google translate with something like this XD) I really don't mean to make anybody uncomfortable, and if this helps me prevent it, than I'd be very grateful! Thank you <3)

let’s talk about ty lee
there’s this one, very overlooked line from “the beach” that I just find fascinating. ty lee is trying to pacify zuko, at which he yells
Tumblr media
to which ty lee sighs and responds quietly, wistfully
Tumblr media
the reading of this line betrays a sadness on ty lee’s part that brings out an otherwise unforeseen maturity.
anyone paying enough attention can tell that ty lee is smarter than she lets on. she and mai are both protecting themselves against azula’s manipulation in different ways. it’s a two-sided dance: azula brazenly manipulating mai and ty lee, and mai and ty lee subtly manipulating azula. azula knows that they fear her and are only there by coercion, and she openly uses this to her advantage. but she does not anticipate either of their betrayals, and this speaks volumes to how ty lee wears a mask of naiveté that [almost] never cracks.
make it impossible for her to disagree with you by complimenting her.
mention auras whenever you want the conversation to change tracks.
feign innocence.
make her jealous by flirting with boys. (that one’s just for fun.)
this whole scene, and every scene, she is looking for levity wherever she may find it. she is the peacekeeper; she knows how fragile their group is, all the underlying tensions bubbling beneath, constantly on the verge of overflowing. she’ll make vapid remarks whenever she feels like anyone is about to lose control of their emotions and say too much and/or hurt someone.
but here, ty lee’s tone does a 180. she lets her perky cheerleader persona fall, because she’s overwhelmed with sympathy for zuko. frankly, if she had slapped zuko across the face this episode, i would not have complained, because zuko in this episode is peak Little Bitch. but his insufferableness in this episode only further speaks to ty lee’s sadness at seeing him in this state.
ty lee did not know him during his banishment. she saw him as a child, and she saw him after ba sing se fell, where he was basically just introduced as the latest player in azula’s posse. azula used the same coercion tactics on him to make sure he never strayed too far, and it’s clear to anyone (because zuko is...not subtle) that he is unhappy here, with them. she never saw zuko in his Ponytail Phase. she never saw him yell “I DON’T NEED ANY CALMING TEA” and stomp around burning things.
so when she sees him again, to us as the audience, he’s actually calmed down quite a bit. but to ty lee, the change is drastic. for one thing, half his face has been burned off since she last saw him. again, to us, this is how he is introduced, and it just feels like a natural part of his face. but to anyone who only knew him before the age of 13, they’d be quite horrified to encounter his scar. it is not clear whether she knows the specifics of his banishment, or what exactly happened. well, that is, before zuko yells at her, “my father decided to teach me a permanent lesson on my face!” which... yeah, elucidates the situation pretty nicely.
but even more so than the scar is his seeming personality transplant. before his banishment, zuko was terrible at performing the way azula is. some of that is simply the fact that azula is also far better at lying to herself, and convincing herself that ozai’s feelings are her own. zuko is painfully transparent. especially in contrast to someone like ty lee, he wears his heart on his sleeve (and you can bet daws peck at it). ty lee knows zuko as he was before he was warped by that severe trauma, so she knows him as he truly is. whenever i watch this episode, i can only scream “this zuko is not my boy!!!!” and i’m willing to bet ty lee feels the same. instead of being earnest, idealistic, kindhearted, and sensitive, zuko is just yelling all over the place and treating her best friend like shit. it’s horrible to watch.
and yet, ty lee can’t find it in herself to be frustrated by his behavior, only saddened. so when he yells “you don’t know me,” what he’s saying is “you don’t know what i’ve been through,” and while that may be true, ty lee did see his life before that. his childhood paints a relative picture of what his life would have been like in a vacuum. sure, he’s still suffering under ozai’s abuse, his mother’s disappearance, lu ten’s death and iroh’s consequent grief, but before the agni kai, he’s still an idealist who cares about people and isn’t afraid to speak his mind in favor of what he believes is right.
zuko was routinely punished for showing kindness, because kindness = weakness, but even though he was punished for it, he still trusted his instincts and remained kind. that is, until he got banished for “speaking out of turn.” how could he have been in the right in that situation when clearly his father who loves him would never have done such a thing unless he had committed an egregious crime? so he tries to behave the way he thinks ozai would want him to behave, and bases his decisions off of what he thinks his father wants, convincing himself that these must be the right decisions, and that his instincts are wrong. thus, he feels tremendous guilt when doing the right thing, and he feels tremendous guilt when doing the wrong thing––and it is only once he confronts his father, and acknowledges that ozai had been the one in the wrong the whole time, does he learn to trust his instincts again.
it’s obviously a tragic situation, and therefore ty lee’s cognitive dissonance between this zuko and the one she knew is enough to break her facade, for even a moment. she wants to reach out to him, she wants to help him, but with azula there, she knows she cannot.
Tumblr media
look at how this shot in “the boiling rock (part 2)” is positioned. azula is in the background, with ty lee in the foreground. here she is realizing that azula would just let them all die, let her brother die, without a care. but we know that ty lee does care. ty lee’s fighting style is specifically one of fully incapacitating people without truly hurting them. and even when they took ba sing se, azula made sure not to kill anyone. but now, here she is, not only letting strangers die, but letting zuko die.
ty lee is not faced with the decision between saving zuko and betraying azula (and it seems like she cares more about not incurring azula’s wrath than she is about finding a way to help them) because mai makes that decision for her, and ty lee only acts when it’s clear azula is about to strike mai. if mai “loves zuko more than [she] fears [azula],” then ty lee loves mai more than she fears azula. this is significant, because up until this point, we––as well as azula––are pretty much convinced that ty lee worships her. and say, for argument’s sake, that she does. then we can look to this moment on the gondola as a turning point. ty lee realizing that azula would not hesitate to kill zuko would cause ty lee to want to turn against her, and azula forces her hand when it looks like she is about to kill mai.
but i don’t even think it’s as simple as that. because ty lee’s not dumb. she knows what azula is capable of. this is why she behaves just so sycophantically towards her. azula trusts mai because she deems her too apathetic to act on a moral code, and would instead act only in her own self-interest, and in a sense, she’s right. but mai won’t let zuko die, which azula did not anticipate because she assumed that because she was the one who engineered their relationship, that meant that their relationship would work on her terms. she thought the same of mai and ty lee, that because they were only friends through her, they would choose her over each other. but obviously, they wouldn’t.
Tumblr media
meanwhile, ty lee knows that azula likes her not just as an asset, but as a person. and she knows that the more she flatters azula’s ego, and the more she pledges her loyalty, the more azula will like her. azula clearly cares about mai and ty lee. their betrayal hurts her on a personal level that she isn’t willing to admit, but incites a breakdown nonetheless. you can see that even in the beginning of “the southern raiders,” azula is starting to come loose at the seams. and by the time that ozai demonstrates to her that he does not truly love her, all the bonds in her life have been broken. she falls apart because to her, she has just been handed empirical proof that she is incapable of being loved. and so she loses it completely.
ty lee let azula feel loved, even if said love was only expressed in dramatic compliments, the illusion of obsequiousness, and paper-thin loyalty. this scene, at the beach, shows us ty lee’s internality in a way we very rarely see throughout the show.
Tumblr media
it’s clear that she cares. to be able to manipulate people as well as ty lee manipulates azula, one must be able to read people incredibly well. it’s obvious that ty lee possesses uniquely adept social skills, and it’s obvious that zuko, well.........does not. ty lee is an incredibly quick-thinking performer. very rarely does she not know how to talk her way out of a situation. we only see two instances wherein she does not:
Tumblr media
when she is confronted by multiple boys at once asking her to pick one, (sidenote: dykon???????????) and when she must save mai.
Tumblr media
even though it’s clear that she easily could, punching her way out of a situation is ty lee’s last resort. though azula’s priorities lie elsewhere in assessing ty lee’s usefulness, it is evident that personally, ty lee values her people skills over her fighting skills.
she wants to resolve this conflict not through violence, but through communication. zuko is making it particularly difficult because he keeps lashing out, but she can tell exactly what he is thinking and feeling because his behavior is so readily apparent. when the audience is introduced to zuko, we are led to assume that he is an inherently angry person. and yes, even as a child, he has always had a bit of a temper. but zuko behaves particularly egregiously in this episode, and ty lee is acutely aware that this is not his neutral state. this behavior is a response to an inner turmoil that becomes painfully obvious when he burns a portrait of his family.
ty lee confronts him about it and he says, “whatever. i don’t care,” to which ty lee sadly responds, “i think you do care.” thus the exchange that leads to ty lee’s most revealing moment. the line, the wistfulness behind its delivery, lets us infer so much about ty lee. she is more perceptive than she lets on, and more caring, too. if azula had only been paying attention, she would have known that her betrayal hadn’t come out of nowhere, not remotely. but to paraphrase mai, azula doesn’t know people as well as she thinks she does. because ty lee played her like a fiddle.

Reaching the stars and coming back none for the worse is this Tuesday’s Talentswap, Myth Anon, the Former Ultimate Astronaut! (Fusion’s Interpretation)
———————————————–
BACKSTORY AND TALENT
Having grown up in a rich and affluent family known for their contributions to scientific research, Myth had a whole bevy of scientific knowledge forced into her at a young age, ranging from physics to medical studies, and her hunger for knowledge meant that she just ate the knowledge up. But deep down, the sheltered yet studious heiress wants to explore the world beyond her lavish estate. Fortunately, Myth’s intellect made her a prime volunteer for NASA’s research, despite her age. She passed the high-difficulty astronomy and astrophysics exams with flying colors, and is slated to go on the research shuttle when she becomes a legal adult. But she is willing to postpone her studies if it means chaperoning the Ultimates and Jr. Ultimates, as well as meeting up with some fellow Former Ultimates.
———————————————–
RELATIONSHIPS
Wyre Anon, Former Ultimate Tennis Pro
With Wyre’s parents being business partners with Myth’s parents, they were practically inseparable, ever since they first met during a charity gala. Wyre regularly helps to physically train Myth for her astronaut exams, and Myth regularly helps Wyre study up for academic tests. Wyre regularly tries to get Myth to loosen up and have some fun for once, and they just live for one of Myth’s rare smiles. Despite Wyre’s rough, tough, and rebellious attitude regularly getting on Myth’s nerves, Myth knows that Wyre is a loyal and kindhearted companion to have.
Outfit: A red visor with a black checkmark on the front, a red tennis jersey, a white undershirt and shorts, red and white knee-high socks, white sneakers with red laces, intact glasses.
Anon Scar, Ultimate Artist
Spending most of her elementary and middle school years as a wallflower, Anon Scar has taken to sketchbooks as her prime mode of entertainment. Although Scar mainly specializes in pencil sketches, Scar eventually mastered a whole museum of art forms. Now that she is in high school, she decided to forge herself a new identity, as the “Overlord of the Monochrome Realm”. But she doesn’t do a particularly good job of keeping up the charade, and turns out to be a bit of a concerned mother hen. Myth is regularly confused by Scar’s vocabulary and rich inner world.
Outfit: Shaggy hair in double buns held up by art supplies, elaborate black and white make-up, black overalls splattered with paint, a black and white striped sweater, black and white striped stockings, black rain boots with paint on the bottom, a black and white striped scarf.
Fusion Anon, Ultimate Magician
Having started out performing magic on the streets to help his struggling family, Fusion is a master at both quiet sleight of hand and loud bombastic performances. Fusion’s specialization is pulling disproportionately large items out of his long sleeves and large afro. Despite Fusion’s unnatural talent, Myth couldn’t help but admire his optimistic and paternal personality. Somehow, Fusion always knows whenever Myth needs something and pulls whatever she needs out of his hair/sleeves, and he always weirds the lady of science ever time. However, Fusion couldn’t help but envy Myth’s upbringing.
Outfit: A blue cloak with oversized and floppy sleeves and yellow details over a red t-shirt with a big yellow star on the front, blue pants with a red pattern on the end held up by a brown belt with a yellow star-shaped buckle, blue curly-toes shoes with yellow jingle bells on the end, glasses from original design.
Fusion Anon II, Ultimate Pianist
As the only child and rebellious heiress of a wealthy family, Fusion II has dominated piano competitions after piano competitions with her fast-paced and finger-flying compositions. But with the pressure by her parents to inherit the family business, Fusion II adopted a flippant and aloof personality that is dominated by piano-covered meme songs. Both Fusion II and Myth bonded over the troubles of being born into wealthy families and having to shoulder various burdens. Myth also regularly has memes taught to her by Fusion, and in exchange, Fusion II gets to play a soothing piano piece for Myth.
Outfit: Smoothed down hair, music note pin in the center of her red bow, light blue off-the-shoulder sweater with a piano key design on the ends over a white tank top, floor-length white skirt with a black music note design near the bottom, black heels.
Just Anon, Ultimate Inventor
A lazy yet strategically and mechanically intelligent young man, Janon would much rather lie in bed all day then actually lift up a tool to complete an invention. Despite being a chronic procrastinator, the few inventions that he manages to finish managed to revolutionize the scientific world as a whole. When meeting the Ultimate Inventor, Myth was internally excited to meet a fellow genius. But when Janon’s foul mouth and poor work ethic was revealed, Myth instantly took all of that back. Even today, Myth and Janon regularly feud about each other’s work ethic and general attitudes.
Outfit: A grey gas mask that hides his face, an oversized pink overcoat with grease stains all over over a white button-up shirt, brown gloves, pants, and boots.
Sparkle Anon, Former Ultimate Child Caregiver
Having started a successful babysitting business from a young age, Sparkle’s eccentric, dramatic and rather childish attitude just attracts kids like metal to a magnet, particularly when it comes to her magical girl persona, “SPARKLE THE SPECTACULAR SPELLCASTER”. Eventually, Sparkle decided to just keep up the persona full-time, and that just attracted even more children and parents to her babysitting agency. While confused by Sparkle’s magical girl persona and general attitude, Myth knows that Sparkle means no harm, and just yearns to entertain and care for people.
Outfit: A pink frilly dress with white and gold details, an elaborate and long pink wig, white gloves with red flower bracelets, red knee-high boots with white details and laces, light blue contacts.
3-GG (aka. Egg Anon), Former Ultimate Robot, and Wet Sock Anon, Former Ultimate Entomologist
Just like Myth, Wet Sock is the heirexx to a prestigious scientific family, with Egg being specially-crafted by the family to be a sibling figure to Wet Sock. But ever since one of Wet Sock’s pet moths flew into one of Egg’s circuit boards, Egg’s mindset hasn’t been the same, causing their parents to boot them both out of their estate to never be seen again. Myth couldn’t help but take pity on the two, and looking past the cursed comments that both of them made, Myth found two broken and lonely individuals. Myth yearns to get closer to the two and learn more about them.
Egg’s Outfit: Pale armor-like skin, an ahoge that functions like a satellite dish.
Wet Sock’s Outfit: Glasses from original design, a black jacket with a blue butterfly design near the bottom over a blue sweater vest, a matching tie and a white button-up shirt, black pants and matching shoes.
Curious Anon, Jr. Ultimate Cosplayer
Growing up with an unremarkable presence and a trouble with expressing emotions, Curious has taken to cosplaying and pretending to be different fictional characters. No matter the gender or personality, Curious manages to accurately portray the character, both in appearance and personality, with hand-crafted costumes. Because of Myth‘s sheltered upbringing, she hasn’t been exposed to anime until Curious came along to educate her. Myth is currently interested in magical girl and science fiction anime. However, Myth couldn’t help but want to craft Curious a proper identity.
Outfit: A white-button up shirt, a red tie, dark green pants, black slip-on shoes, fake glasses.
Anon Nerd, Former Ultimate Adventurer
Having been abandoned in the wild at a young age, Anon Nerd had to do his best to survive in a dog-eat-dog world, as well as find a permanent home. Nerd’s socially isolated backstory made him rude and irritable, regularly mauling and pummeling people he doesn’t like (read: everybody) with his fists. Myth understandably steers well away from Nerd, fearing what would happen if she got on Nerd’s bad side. Which is a shame on Nerd‘s part, considering that he finds Myth cute. Unfortunately, Myth is far too dense to pick up on those feelings, and Nerd responds to unknown emotions with violence.
Outfit: Mid-back length hair, a red headband, a black sleeveless parka over a tight white shirt that shows off his muscles, blue jeans, nothing on his feet.
Eldritch Anon, Ultimate Anthropologist
Eldritch is well-known in the anthropology circuit for his cynical and misanthropic philosophies, and his elusive shut-in behavior. Eldritch seems to have the idea that Myth is either a malicious robotic overlord or a hostile alien queen, considering her fascination with space and her limited emotional range, and yearns to stay as far away from her as possible. Myth wonders what could have went on in Eldritch’s past to make him despise and distrust humanity this much, and why he doesn‘t seem to view Myth as a human. Myth just wants Eldritch to trust her, and gain his friendship.
Outfit: Shoulder-length hair in a ponytail, a black face mask that covers his mouth and nose, a lavender and black poncho over a matching sweater and pants, bandaged hands, white shoes.
Dream Anon, Ultimate Supreme Leader
Despite Dream’s impulsive and childish behavior, Dream‘s followers renown her as sunshine in human form, and a beacon of hope, joy and optimism. At first, Myth was skeptical about the validity of Dream’s talent. She thought that a teenage girl, let alone someone as childish as Dream, couldn’t possibly be the leader of such a large organization. But upon witnessing Dream’s optimistic and rousing speeches, Myth was beginning to see why her followers named her the leader. Dream gifted her a sports jersey with her name on it, as a sign of friendship and acceptance.
Outfit: Same outfit from her original design, only with her sidebag being replaced by a cardboard crown and a black cape.
Iris Anon, Jr. Ultimate Detective/Assassin
While Astronomer!Iris has her interest in true crime, Detective/Assassin!Iris has this interest taken to an entirely new level. While Iris is known on the lawful side for her clumsy, yet intelligent and optimistic personality, Iris has an entirely different reputation on the opposite side of the law, as a devious little assassination master, who uses her clumsy and dorky personality as a facade to draw suspicion away from herself. Having a positive outlook to just about anybody, Iris took a liking to Myth already, loving how intelligent and well-put-together she is. However, Myth can’t help but feel as though there’s something off about Iris.
Outfit: A dark blue overcoat with a star badge pinned on the front over a black button-up shirt and a yellow tie, a light blue plaid skirt, black knee-high socks with a noticeable sliver taken out of the right one, red Mary Janes, glasses from original design.
Purple Anon, Ultimate Aikido Master
Having been raised in a traditional family skilled in both martial arts and traditional dance, Purple’s aikido manages to mesh both of these traditional art forms together into one picturesque martial art. Purple, despite her combat-based talent, is timid and cowardly, regularly hiding behind her good friend Fusion. Purple’s vocabulary, if you managed to get it out of her, is very old-fashioned and loquacious. Luckily, Myth is intelligent enough to understand Purple. Just like with Wyre, Purple and Myth regularly like to meet up together and do physical training together.
Outfit: A black headband, black hakama top, bandaged arms, purple hakama pants, white socks, brown sandals.
This series centers around the intelligent yet awkward and isolated astronaut learning about friendship from the colorful personalities surrounding her.
——————————————————-
PERSONALITY
Because of her upbringing, Astronaut!Myth is cultured, highly-educated, mild-mannered and polite, never raising her voice or speaking before she’s spoken to, and when she speaks, her words come out clearly and precisely. Also because of her upbringing, Astronaut!Myth is also solitary, socially inept, not very good with emotions, and has a tendency to come off as cold. Despite her cold tendencies, Astronaut!Myth is actually really kind-hearted and tends to get excited and cheery when talking about her interests, about the only times when she ever actually smiles.  In her off-time, Astronaut!Myth can sometimes be seen practicing her smile in the mirror, in order to come off as more friendly.
——————————————————-
APPEARANCE
Astronaut!Myth wears her undyed hair in a moon-shaped ponytail. Astronaut!Myth’s upbringing is shown very clearly through her clothes, which consists of a navy blue vest with golden buttons and her family’s logo on the right lapel, a white dress shirt with a light blue tie and sleeve ruffs, a black belt with a gold star in the center, a navy blue skirt with a constellation design, black leggings, and black boots with light blue buckles and soles and white fluff on the insides of them.
————————————————-——

Out & About (Pt. 2)
Read Pt. 1 Pt 3 Pt. 4
Pairing: Bakugo x Reader
Fluff/ Friends to Lovers (?), lots of pining and !!some swearing!!
Synopsis: Reader is very close friends with the Bakusquad, except for the aloof and mysterious Bakugo. He still intrigues them however, and a night out with the group might actually be the the push they need to really get the ball rolling on transitioning their awkward comradery into something a little- more.
Note:Whhhhewww. Let’s get into it, I’m sorry that the dialogues’ very stilted -K (and again, I apologize for formatting)
Tumblr media
XSero had scouted out a charming little restaurant in the heart of the city. Small, cozy, and family owned, the ambiance was perfect and the food was even better. You kept your eyes down for the most part, trying not to glance at Bakugo, but you couldn’t help but notice his order. An extra spicy dish that didn’t seem to affect him in the slightest. You wished you had that sort of tolerance and picked at your food, trying to calm your nerves. The interaction on the train still lingered in your mind. He was so, so close. Absentmindedly, you went to shovel a large helping of noodles into your mouth, instead feeling a caulloused hand brush against your cheek. You look up, eyes meeting Bakugo, looking just as surprised as you. Tugging his hand away, he glared back down at his food, pouting in his aloof manner. A thick silence hung between the two of you. Bakugo finally broke it, refusing to look up at all. “Tie back your hair or something. You looked like you were gonna swallow some strands with your food, idiot,” he mumbled, begrudgingly. You thanked the gods above that the others were occupied with their own dishes, because if they saw that interaction and they way you reacted, you’d never hear the end of it.
Wait. Could Bakugo like you back? You gave him a subtle side eye. No. Not possible with how he’s acting. Even if he did have some feelings for you, and this was all some tsundere situation, he clearly didn’t want to like you. And maybe that was for the best. Bakugo wanted to focus on being the number one hero, and so did you. A relationship would get in the way.
A relationship?!? Why were you thinking about that? You blushed deeply, sinking into yourself at the thought of dating Bakugo. Holding his hand, cuddling with him, kissing hi- “Hey Y/N, you alright?” You peered up at Kiri, who was sitting across from you. His voracious appetite was almost impressive, but even more so was the fact that he had managed to tear himself away from his fifth bowl of katsudon. “H-huh?? I’m fine, yep. 100% a-okay!!” You cringed. That came off as WAY too emphatic. Kirishima pushed aside his stack of empty bowls to see you. “Are you sure? You’re really red. Are you feeling okay?”
“I-“
“Wow, Y/N, you’re burning up!” Mina had appeared seemingly out of nowhere and had placed her hand on your forehead. She wiped a bit of rice away from her cheek and let loose a ferocious burp. You smacked away her hand, mostly out of suprise. “Mina!”
“What? I’m just worried about you. You’re the color of Kiri’s hair.”
Sero laughed. “Y/N, if you’re not feeling well, we should head back.” For once, you wished your friends were less doting.
“I’m fine! Just a little warm, haha.” None of them seemed very convinced. Even Denki gave you a skeptical glance. He smirked. “We’re you imagining something hot? I mean that waiter was pretty attr-” Sero flicked him, scolding. “Y/N’s not gross like you, Denki.” He turned to you, concerned. “But seriously Y/N, you’re up for tonight?”
“Yep! I’m okay.” You tried to grin, but it felt forced and false. The others were still skeptical, but decided to shrug it off. No point in wasting a perfectly good evening, and they were pretty sure you were responsible enough to know your limits. Mina wrapped an arm around you. “Alright!!! Let’s get shitfaced-“
“No Mina, we’re minors.”
Your group opted to walk around the city to see if they’d discover anything new. The moon hung high in the night sky and it was colder than usual- late fall was leading into winter. The neon signs filled you with contentment as you chatted with your friends, cocoas in hand. You lagged behind them for a bit when crossing a bridge, trying to take everything in. Everything but the...well, the Bakugo issue. Everything was fine then he had to smile at you and fuck everything up. “Y/N?” You snapped out of your stupor, looking at Kiri. “Yeah?” Kiri looked ahead at the group, oddly wary. You knew Kiri to be a trusting and kindhearted sort of guy- the embodiment of a paragon hero. Cheerful and humorous, and always willing to have some fun. But he could be serious when he needed to be. “Is something wrong, Eij?” Kiri laughed softly. “No, no it’s nothing serious!” He looked at you, cocking his head to the side. “I just want to make sure they’re not listening,” he pointed at the cacophonous trio dashing ahead, and you giggle as the three idiots directed their attention towards annoying Bakugo.
“Why’s that?”
Kiri rubbed the back of his neck. “I have a bit of a personal question and I don’t want you to be embarrassed.”
“Ha! Like I could be embarrassed in front of them. Shoot.”
Kiri hesitated. “Well, I’m hoping this doesn’t make you uncomfortable or weird or anything, I don’t to be rude or assum-“
“Eij just spit it out!”
“Do you like Bakugo?” He asked it earnestly, eyes shining with a quiet anticipation. You choked on air.
“Wh-what makes you think that?”
Kiri leaned back, crossing his arms against his chest and looking up to think. “Well, at dinner, your eyes kept darting back to Bakugo, and I thought that maybe that’s why you were so red! And when we went to get cocoa, when he went to grab the drink tray from you, you flinched at his touch. And also that one time in class when you guys were sparring and you looked super flustered when he pinned you even though you weren’t really going all in! Or when he taught you how to cut produce at camp and you got so nervous that you cut yourself! And-“
“Okay, I get it Kiri!” You covered your mouth, trying to hide your blushing face. You felt like you were about to hurl. “Am I really that transparent?” Kiri let out an quiet squee of excitement. “Oh my god I was right?? Really? Oh my god, my best friend is in love with my other best friend!! Ahhhhh!”
You sighed. “Well, you were half right, Eij. I only started liking Bakugo today.” Kirishima paused. “Wait really? Huh.”
“Wha- What do you mean by ‘Huh’??”
He shrugged. “I don’t know. It just seems like you’ve always been this way around him.”
You’re quiet, trying to chew on that. Always? Looking back, you thought that the nervousness was fueled by the intimidation factor Bakugo had.
But the truth was, you weren’t afraid of Bakugo. You never were.
You were in love with him.
You tried to shake that thought from your head: No! Back then, Bakugo was just someone you respected! Not a crush, just a colleague you thought was intelligent, brave, talented, fiery, attractive-
“Oh shit.” Kiri nodded.
“But why are you acting like this is a bad thing, Y/N? Love is great! And the fact you like Bakugo is even better! I mean-“
“He doesn’t like me back, Kiri.”
“What?”
“He doesn’t like me back.” You clenched your fists. “It’s that, or he doesn’t want to like me.”
“Why would you think that, Y/N?” Kiri said softly.
“He’s Bakugo, Kiri! Even if he did like me, it’s not as if he’d want a relationship. His ambition wouldn’t allow it, and you know that, you’re his best friend!” You hissed through your teeth with bitterness. Kirishima only looked sad.
“YO! Eij!!! C’mere, win this crane game for meeeee,” Denki whined. His pockets were turned inside out, and he clung pathetically to the machine. Kirishima turned to you. “I think he likes you, Y/N. Bakugo is the type of guy who stubborn and would never admit it, but I think he does.” He pats your shoulder. “And don’t give up on him.” Kiri winks, then goes to join Denki at the game. Sero and Mina dispersed on their own arcade escapade, but you decided to stay outside in the brisk autumn air. You didn’t have the appetite for games after that conversation. You sighed, rubbing your shoulders. It was cold. If only you brought a coat with you. You watched the night crowd going about their evening, looking at bright storefronts and multicolored signs, all with a serenity you couldn’t quite place. But it was lonely, to be sitting there on the curb with nobody to enjoy this with. Lonely and cold. You try to shrink yourself, burying your head into your knees. Were you lonely? Yes. But this was still a nice little scene , and you’d hate to squander it on self pity. As you’re about to lift yourself up, something soft and warm comes down on your head. An article of clothing that smells faintly of caramel.
You find a way out from under the expanse of cloth, and look up at Bakugo’s face. He quickly whipped his head away, watching the moon instead. In his hand was some hot beverage from a vending machine. He must have gone off on his own, just to escape Mina, Denki, and Sero. You lazily drape his jacket over your shoulders fixing your eyes on him. Just what is he thinking right now? If only you knew. You felt a quiet distaste for him in the pit of your stomach when recalling the train ride. It sickened you how attractive he was there and even now, when the moonlight hit him at a truly beautiful angle. “You shouldn’t have forgotten your coat. Did you even check the weather? You could have gotten a cold or something.” Bakugo only said things when it was too late, huh? You were reminded of the 5 o’clock rush hour crowd that you had been tormented by. Would have been real handy if he spoke up about that, escpecially since he seemed to be fully aware of it. You looked down at your feet. “Sorry,” you whispered in a half-there voice laced with a hint of resentment. It came off crueler than you intended.
Bakugo, a little taken aback , cast you an odd glance. “What?” You were always so cheerful. Always so peppy and excitable, especially with your friends. On a night like this, you should be celebrating and laughing with everyone else. Not apologizing. Not to him. What could have brought this on?
“I’m sorry, okay Bakugo?! I know-“ you choked back tears. Why were you crying?! Why did you have to care so much?! “I know I’m not as smart as you, or as talented.” You looked him in they eyes, anger clouding your face. Why did it have to be him, of all people. Why couldn’t it have been a nice boy like Midoriya or Kirishima? Why did it have to be the boy who demeaned you or refused to help you until after the fact. Why did it have to be a boy you’d never be good enough for, even if he liked you back? A boy you’d never be an equal to, in talent or looks or intelligence.
“But couldn’t you stand to be a little more considerate?!” You rise, throwing his jacket back at him. You’re screaming now, tears pricking at the corners of your eyes. “You could have bothered to tell me about the fact that we left too close to rush hour. Or that I should have worn a coat before we went out.” Bakugo was silent. His jaw hung slightly open, uncertainty in his eyes. “But of course, you’re not going to say anything.” You cross your arms, turning to leave.
“Wait.”
He grabs your shoulder, turning you towards him. You expect a scathing comeback or some sort of equally rude outburst.
But instead, he envelops you in a hug.
He rubs your head, whispering to you in a low, pained voice. “You shouldn’t be the one apologizing. It’s me.” He releases you, hands still on your shoulders and eyes scanning you like he’s afraid you’ll disappear into thin air. “I-“ he grits his teeth, as if holding back words. “I think you’re okay, all right? And I don’t have the heart to tell you anything when you seem so happy. But, I guess that backfired. ” He seems to retreat within his shell again, shoving his hands into his pockets. “So. I’m sorry. I don’t really have an excuse other than that.” He attempts to avert his gaze, but it’s hard when you’re staring him down like that. It starts to snow.
“Well?! Are you gonna say something?!” He finally yells. It’s a little bit weaker than usual. His voice shakes and his hands tremble and he feels scared thinking about all the things you could possibly say. But he tries and tries not to show it. He’s Bakugo Katsuki; he’s not supposed to worry about anyone else. So why was he so hung up on you?
You’re heart skips a beat. He’s still attractive, even yelling like mad and frothing at the mouth. You debated whether or not to tell him the truth.
You began. Tentatively, cautiously proceeding with your words. “Bakugo, I-“ you froze. What if you were misreading him and he didn’t have feelings like that? What would happen to being friends? And furthermore, your friend group? What if you held him back from his dreams? What if...
You weren’t good enough, you weren’t good enough, you weren’t good enough-
You smile, all with a trace of melancholy. “I forgive you Bakugo. But next time, please tell me when I’m being ridiculous.”
Bakugo sneered, but you caught a glimpse of relief in his eye. You might have a long way to go to see that same soft-hearted boy on the train car, but it was nice to know he was still in there. You give him another grin, and he turns to hide his face behind the back of his hand. Odd behavior. You laugh. And after a bit of suprise, he does, too. It died quickly though, dissolving into an awkward silence.
Bakugo hesitated, fiddling with his spiky hair. His words come out in barks. “You too, Y/N. Let me know when I’m being dumb. Not telling you stuff.” He turned away, but not before tossing you his jacket. “Wear it.”
And you obliged.
Little did you know, seeing you in his jacket almost made him explode. It was too much for him, and as you two scanned the arcade for your friends he screamed at himself internally every time he inadvertently sneaked a glimpse at you. Before you spotted Denki crying over some rhythm game you offhandedly commented to him with one of your bright beams:
“It smells like caramel!”
And he died on the spot. Full catatonic shock, and it took him around 15 full minutes to fully recover.
Once Kirishima had been found, he watched Bakugo usher you away from some creep that’d been eyeing you. He smiled. Something had changed between the two of you, and he couldn’t quite place it, but he knew it was a change for the better. But still, he sighed with exasperation.
“Those two really are clueless, aren’t they??”

Note
can u give me a brief overview of the main, say, 5 kirby characters + ur favorite hcs? i love ur blog but i don't understand kirby lore. also are any of the ships u reblog abt canon? they seem neat and i'd love to hear more. abt everything. it's a neat universe even if the games aren't my thing
ofc!!
kirby:
titular little pink space marshmallow.
their signature ability is inhaling their enemies and absorbing their powers, aka the copy ability.
in the process they get cute lil hats (x) (x)
they’re a very cheerful, energetic and kindhearted sweetheart who loves strawberry shortcake, eating and sleeping.
they also love to sing but their voice is so terrible it’s a basically a superweapon.
in spite of their youth and cute appearance they’re EXTREMELY powerful. they’re also kind of heavily implied to be an incarnation of an ancient elder god of destruction, but that’s neither here nor there.
headcanons: has an energy drink addiction, able and willing to fall asleep everywhere and under p much any circumstance, the concept of a “best friend” stresses them out immensely because the thought of singing out only one is just depressing to them
king dedede:
he’s greedy and and capricious and petty but aside from the first game + Revenge of the King he’s not really genuinely evil for the most part, and in recent is mostly decently heroic/an ally
“self-designated” “”king”” of dreamland, i.e. just some rando who showed up one day and the people kind of took it in stride because This Might As Well Happen.
the game stresses regularly that he has no legitimate right to rule, he just kind of does because dreamlanders are extremely politically apathetic, and also just fairly apathetic in general
the folks he rules over love the dude though
he also gets possessed a lot so the devs have an excuse to make you fight him. dedede constantly averts the Villain Forget To Level Grind trope though, so his boss battles are both a ton of fun and offer something new in every game
headcanons: is a skilled engineer and has scopophobia from his rocky history with possession. has unofficially adopted the gals from crystal shards (ado + ribbon)
meta knight:
a masked swordsman (swordsperson? idk his gender is ambiguous in japanese but he’s referred to as masc terms in both so).
he usually takes on a “mysterious older rival / mentor / anti-hero” role, but he’s generally fairly helpful + force for good more than anything.
he abides by a strict code of honour and is constantly honing his ability in combat.
is the same species as kirby under his mask. this is “”revealed”” in every game in which he’s a boss, where his mask breaks when you defeat him
goes to ridiculous lengths to preserve his image as a Stoic Mysterious Warrior (e.g. hiding his adorable face 24/7 and keeping his love of sweets a dire secret)
headcanons: his eyes glow, kind of an insomniac, drinks coffee with way too much sugar and cream, gets sick easily (in the games he’s usually kind of a glass cannon)
bandana dee:
a waddle dee (the most common mook enemy in the game) with a bandana and a spear. like perry the platypus
loyal right-hand servant of king dedede, ish.
is desperate to prove himself and stand out among his kind as a hero and a warrior
his first appearance was a brief one in a sub-game and since that point he’s appeared in plenty of other games since then, to the point of being a playable character in many of them
really loves apple juice
people really want him in smash because there’s only three kirby reps. those people are right.
headcanons: is a really good cook, fairly versatile with numerous weapons, really hates rainy weather
other than the core four there’s also
magolor (laid-back spacefaring catboy wizard, twist villain of RTDL who’s trying to clean up his act and redeem himself to... interesting results)
taranza (clumsy, pretentious spider mage-druid with a bowlcut, he wasn’t really evil just a simp. you never fight him directly in his debut game bc he freaks out and calls for his not-gf)
marx (fuckingf STUPId idiot)
susie (capitalist e-girl office lady with a mech and a gun, cute and polite but also the kind of person who says stuff like “i’m not racist but-”)
adeleine/ado (friendly human painter girl who got possessed by eyeball demons in her debut game, in the kirby verse the earth was rendered uninhabitable by an apocalyptic ice age so she’s pretty much the only actual human we see)
ribbon (sweet lil alien fairy with a gun made of shiny rocks)
daroach (gentlemanly rat thief dude idk i didn’t play squeak squad)
+ many others i’ve missed
as for the ships thing, generally nope ;; in the entire series there are like. two or three instances of explicit romance being shown in the entire thing:
- chuchu having an unrequited crush on kirby (rip queen)
- taranza the spider mage having an unrequited crush on his childhood friend, an evil queen who got corrupted by a magic mirror (rip queen. literally this time because a child fucking murdered her with a laser)
- the only actual canon romantic relationship is kirby/ribbon. in the true ending of Crystal Shards after they fight a giant blood-spurting eyeball kirby gets a victory smooch on the cheek. nblw rights.
(though worth noting that in kf2 meta knight and dedede are referred to as “sworn partners” with an enduring bond that strengthens their combat ability and reach out to hold each other’s hands before collapsing, which is,,,, Hmmm)
hope this is alright anon! sorry if i rambled a bit lmao

Mornings Don’t Always Suck
Words: 1457
Characters: Virgil focus, Roman, Logan, and a bit of Patton.
Relationships: Any you want, but it was platonic in my head :3
Warnings: tickling, minor embarrassment, partial nudity (boy loses shirt whoops), sleepiness, restraint (he’s held down), playful use of the term ‘queer’, and I think that’s it :P
A/N: This is my first tickle fic!! I hope you all like it!!
Tagging: @cefsticklestoo 😊
It was too late to try. Virgil had yet to sleep a wink and it was already nearing eight in the morning. He groaned and snatched his currently charging phone up, checking for any notifications from his apps. Nothing. He’d only checked it a half hour ago anyway. Rolling to a sit, Virgil ruffled his hair back into place and made his way downstairs.
He noted first Patton at the dining table, always able to feel his best whether he managed to sleep much or not. Then there was Roman in the kitchen, putting together ingredients to make breakfast. He had an alarm set for 7am each day of the week; he said it kept his complexion at its best. And Logan was absent, always second to last in waking up as it took his brain longer to process his surroundings when half asleep.
“Virgil!” Roman called, thrilled to see the other side so soon. “Do you want pancakes for breakfast? Now that three of the four of us are here, I can start cooking!”
“Yeah, sure, Roman, go ahead.” He muttered, taking a seat next to Patton. He put his head on his arms and pulled out his phone. Patton had yet to greet him.
“Virgil,” he said instead, an accusatory tone to his voice. “How much did you sleep?” Virgil, slowly looked over to the fatherly trait, a single eyebrow raised.
“Okay, random, um. I,I didn’t-- how, how could you even tell?” Patton sighed and leaned forward on the table. The two hardly acknowledged the last of their group walk past to the kitchen.
“Well, for starters, you beat Logan to the table. Secondly, you didn’t even grab any coffee. Third, you’re in the same clothes from yesterday!” Virgil looked down and noticed it was all true. Logan was at the counter, drinking the coffee that he neglected to grab for himself and he had, in fact, not changed his clothes since the previous day. He groaned.
“Alright, yeah, you got me.” He dropped his head back to the table and stared ahead at nothing. A few moments passed, and Logan and Roman began to carry in their food and get the table all set with what they needed: sliced fruits, spreads, and drinks to accommodate their meal.
The group ate their breakfast as normal, Roman doing most of the talking, specifically about dreams he’d had and ideas they’d given him, with the others adding in their input and commentary as necessary. Virgil cleaned his dishes and helped the others with the rest. Just as he was headed for the stairs to try and relax some, Logan took his hand.
“Virgil, I’d like to try something, if you’d be willing to help me out?” He asked, looking slightly hopeful and… giddy? Virgil, furrowed his brows and agreed, really just to put off trying to sleep some more. “Great. Okay, take off your shirt and lay on the floor.”
“I’m sorry, what?” Logan blinked.
“It’s just, it’s easier that way. For this to work, it’s best to have minimal obstacles.” Virgil took a deep breath and did as he asked, not feeling very anxious at the moment. Instead, he felt rather calm and was willing, excited even, to do things with the others. Even if ‘others’ meant only one ‘other’. Perhaps Roman and Patton would join in a bit. Who knows?
VIrgil removed his sweater and his long-sleeve, and lay on his back on the floor, folding his arms across his chest.
“Okay, I’m cold and exposed. Now what?” Logan knelt beside him, wearing a content smile.
“Close your eyes.” Virgil glared. “I promise not to do anything queer.” The halfnaked man on the ground shut his eyes and muttered under his breath.
“You’re queer.” He felt Logan reach for and grab his arms, gently moving them down to his sides. The calm touches already made him feel more relaxed.
A sudden tingle slashed through his stomach, causing him to jolt and sputter, rolling to the side and covering the spot that got shocked.
“Whoa, hey, what was that for?!”
“Virgil, I promise you, it’s fine. It’s just part of the test.”
“Yeah, one to make me squeal like a child?” Virgil sat up and guarded his midsection. “Jeez, ask a guy if he’s ticklish first next time.” The last thing Virgil needed on zero sleep was someone finding out his weakness and proceeding to use it against him.
“Are you ticklish?”
“Obviously!”
“Ladies, ladies, what is happening here?” Roman interrupted, standing behind VIrgil with his hands on his hips.
“Perfect! Roman, could you lend me a hand?” Logan said, beaming, his one hand flapping outwardly. Roman turned his gaze to Logan, curiosity taking hold. “Could you hold his arms for me? Gently, though.”
“What? No!” Virgil moved to his feet to try and escape the situation. However, Roman took his chance and snagged the emo, trapping his arms at his sides. Roman linked his hands together, keeping Virgil entirely stuck. “Roman, I swear to goOHOHOHOHOD!” His voice raised into a cry as his stomach was prodded again, this time at a quicker rate. “STOP STOP STAHAHAHAHAP AHAHAHAHA!” He squealed, laughing and kicking and tensing. “WHAHAHAHAHY?”
“Why?” Logan said, speaking loudly for Virgil to hear over his own hysterics. Logan took his hands back for a minute, giving him a break to not overwhelm him. “Because. It’s all part of the test.”
What tehehest? What’s this for?” While he seemed upset before the tickling had officially started, he continued to smile even when he stopped giggling. He rested his weight against Roman, but his feet continued to move, the sudden adrenaline leading an outlet.
“I’ve read that being tickled can tire a person out, enough so that they’re able to fall asleep soon after. So? Did it work?”
“I’m not sure that was nearly enough tickling, my brainiac,” Roman cut in, smirking down at the side in his arms. “He seems to still have some energy.” Logan nodded. Virgil dropped his head backwards onto Roman’s shoulder, feigning defeat. “Wow, not even fighting it anymore? If I didn’t know better, I would assume you don’t mind this experiment thing.” Virgil’s head flew back upright.
“What gives you that idea?!” Their eyes turned to logical trait.
“Do you wish that I stop? We can call it off here, if you would prefer.” Virgil found himself between a rock and a hard place. He could keep up his deniability and agree to be let go, or he could admit to liking being tickled and have both fun and maybe even get some decent sleep. However, his hesitancy to respond gave the two enough of an answer.
Without another word Logan reached back up, this time dragging light finger-touches across the neck, beneath the jaw and down to the shoulder. VIrgil squirmed and huffed, trying to catch the hands under his head in reaction to stop the sensations. He squeaked as it failed, the hands trailing down to his collarbone, then to his pectorals, and scratching across his ribs. His body twisted as much as it could in Roman’s grasp. Logan’s tickling increased as the creative aspect began to blow on his skin, the breeze blowing against the hairs on his neck. He let out giggles and gasps, squirming and kicking lightly.
“So he likes it!” Roman cheered, genuinely happy with the discovery. Virgil felt the sudden want to disappear.
“I dohoho nohohohohot!” He said, unable to contain himself in the slightest. He was also sure that lying would be no use, but his instinct was to protect this not-so-secret secret for as long as possible.
Logan, however, decided that it was enough for now and let the soft tickles drift into nothing, Roman following his lead. Virgil slowly stood back up, wiping his eyes and rubbing against the remaining sensations, still chuckling lightly.
“So, Virgil?” Roman teased, leaning in and resting his chin on the lee’s shoulder. “You like to be tickled, hm?” Virgil’s face tinted red as he looked sheepishly the other way.
“It’s, I mean, I wouldn’t, I, I wouldn’t exactly, um,”
“Ha! That’s great, Virge!” Roman threw his arms around him and nuzzled his face with his own.
“Yeah, yeah, get off me.” Virgil felt as though he would regret it later, but at the moment, he wasn’t too self-conscious.
“How do you feel, Virgil?” Logan said, smiling in a kindhearted way.
“I’m a little more tired now, but it was still, it was still kinda, kinda fun. Thanks, Lo—“
“VIRGIL!” And with a shout, Virgil found himself lying on the ground, a giddy Patton over him, and beginning to laugh his ass off as he was tickled, this time mercilessly, by the fatherly trait.

Writer’s Month Prompts Day 19
Day 19: Metamorphosis
Oh my god you guys this one was so much fun to write out! Requested by @cosmicrealmofkissteria <3 Hope you like it!!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Listen, Velma tried to be a good student. She was a Ravenclaw, after all; she just wanted to be a good student, make it through Hogwarts, graduate at or near the top of her class, and go on to have a promising career in whatever she excelled in. She was thinking Potions; it was rather like Muggle chemistry, which she had always been fascinated by.
So far she had nice friends as well; there was Fred and Daphne, both Gryffindors. Fred, a Chaser for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, wasn’t the brightest lightbulb of the bunch, but he still tried, and liked to create complicated traps with his magic. Daphne was a redheaded firecracker who all the boys agreed was one of the prettiest at Hogwarts (which kind of lowered Velma’s own self-esteem a bit but anyway), but she was the nicest girl and was always ready to defend her friends to bullies. There was also Norville, but he preferred Shaggy, a lanky beatnik of a Hufflepuff who sometimes got scared of his own shadow; he was kindhearted and was always down to hang out with his friends, or sneak into the kitchen to hang out with the house elves and eat. She was pretty sure all the house elves loved him.
Apart from her friends, who made life at Hogwarts more fun, there was also… Paul.
There were many reasons to stay away from Paul. For one he was a Slytherin, and although Velma didn’t believe in relying solely on stereotypes, she had been made fun of by enough Slytherins already to want to keep her distance from most of the lot of them. He also had the reputation of being a heartbreaker and a shameless flirt, flirting with girls and even some boys, and Velma wasn’t keen on getting her hopes up only to have them crushed. Also, although he wasn’t as obnoxious as her fellow Ravenclaw Ace Frehley, he still was one of the boys that liked to fool around in class. Did he ever actually get any work done?
So yeah, there were many reasons to stay away from Paul Stanley. Even if he had a cute face and that long dark curly hair and a charming smile… all the more reason to stay away from him. It was always the handsome ones that were the worst, her mother always said.
“Hey! Hey, Velma!”
Velma froze in the hallway. Speak of the devil… She turned around to find Paul himself running to catch up with her, bookbag bouncing against his side. He stopped and smiled as he worked to catch his breath. “Finally caught up with you… You dropped this.”
He held out… a quill? Velma blinked at him. “You ran all that way because I dropped a quill?”
Paul shrugged. “It wasn’t that far,”
Blinking owlishly at him for a second, Velma reached out and took back the quill. “Thanks,”
“No problem.” She was about to turn around when Paul spoke again. “You’re headed to Transfiguration, right? Mind if I walk with you?”
And she was reduced to blinking owlishly at him again. He kept smiling for some reason and explained, “Ravenclaws and Slytherins have Transfiguration together. We’re in the same class.”
How did he know that? I mean she knew that, she’d known they were in the same class ever since term started, but why would he put in the effort to observe that?
Don’t fall for it, Velma. Don’t fall for the smile and the good looks. Plus everyone’s going to assume you’re dating him and you’ll never get a moment to yourself again. “I’d… I’d rather walk by myself, thanks,”
A look of disappointment flashed across his face, but only for about a millisecond. “Oh. Okay, that’s fine. I’ll see you in class, then.”
Velma nodded. “Yeah,”
She turned back around and strode briskly away, her mind turning. What was that about? No guy had ever put in the effort to talk to her before, unless it was to make fun of her or get closer to Daphne. Heck, Paul had even flirted with Daphne before. But Velma was alone. What did he gain from talking to her when she wasn’t with Daphne?
Unbeknownst to her, Paul was watching her walk quickly away, and he sighed. There went his chance to ask if she wanted to go to Hogsmeade with him. Gene was right; he really did have it bad for her.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Velma paid attention carefully to Professor McGonagall as she lectured the class. They were learning the spell that would turn creatures into rabbits. She wondered if it would work on human beings as well, but before she could raise her hand and ask, Professor McGonagall was demonstrating the spell. Oh well; she could ask her after class was dismissed.
Readying her wand, Velma focused on the object in front of her, which was a jewelry box. She focused on the box, imagining it turning into a rabbit in her mind. She waved her wand. “Lapifors!”
The box morphed, until it was a small rabbit.
“Very good, Miss Dinkley,” Professor McGonagall complimented as she walked past, supervising the students as they attempted to pull off the spell. Velma beamed happily. “Perhaps you can also figure out how to reverse it back?”
Velma gave a moment of thought, then looked down at the rabbit sitting on her desk and waved her wand. “Repari—”
Then she suddenly jerked up as pain washed over her bones. Her arms and legs seized and jerked, and Velma felt a flash of panic as her wand fell from her hands and she suddenly heard a familiar voice screaming something. She fell out of her chair and her vision went dark.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Paul was barely paying attention to Professor McGonagall as she lectured them all on the spell. He was too focused on the back of Velma’s head. It was turned towards the front, and he knew from having other classes with her that she was paying close attention to every word. It wasn’t until Gene nudged him that he snapped back into focus and lifted his wand to attempt to perform the spell.
After a few tries, spent waving his wand at the water goblet on his desk and saying “Lapifors”, Paul gave up. He sat back and sighed, and glanced over at Gene’s successful attempt, currently sniffing around his desk. “How did you do that?”
“Say it with feeling,” Gene advised.
“I’ve been trying to do that!”
“Well try it again,”
Paul sat forward and lifted his wand. He was about to wave it when he heard, “Very good, Miss Dinkley,”
He looked up to see that Professor McGonagall had stopped at Velma’s desk. Had she already transfigured her object? He wondered if Velma was beaming proudly at the praise like she had once when Professor Snape said her sleeping draught was “acceptable”, the highest praise anyone outside of Slytherin was likely to receive from him. She had such a pretty smile…
Smiling at the thought of Velma’s likely happiness, Paul turned his attention back to his water goblet and waved his wand. “Lapifors!—Hey!”
Gene’s rabbit had crept over to his desk and started sniffing his arm, and Paul jerked his arm away, in the process moving his wand in the wrong direction. For a moment, he hoped nothing would happen. Then he suddenly heard shouts of surprise and looked up just in time to see Professor McGonagall back away and, terrifyingly, Velma collapse to the floor. He rocketed out of his chair and ran towards her desk, pushing through the forming crowd of students. He looked down… and stopped.
Velma’s robes, uniform, and glasses lay on the floor, nothing in them except a rather large lump. The lump began to move, until a small pink nose surrounded by brown fur poked out of the hem of the skirt.
Gasps rose and Paul’s stomach dropped in utter horror as a brown rabbit crept out of the robes.
Then sudden laughter began to erupt, maddeningly from a chorus of Slytherin girls. “Dinkley’s been turned into a rabbit!” they jeered. “Now she’s got four legs to match her four eyes!”
“Shut up!” Paul whirled around to shout at them. They stopped in utter shock, because Paul had never yelled in anger before. He turned back to Velma, who was being inspected by Professor McGonagall. “Is she okay?” he asked worriedly. He felt like the lowest form of humanity; this was all his fault. If only he’d been focusing on the water goblet instead of thinking about Velma…
“Miss Dinkley is all right,” Professor McGonagall confirmed. “But it seems someone has turned her into a rabbit.” She straightened up and fixed them all with a stern glare. “Well? Who is responsible for this?”
Paul knew there was no way he could get out of this. But he deserved whatever penalty he got. So with a regretful look, he raised his hand. “It was me… It was an accident, I swear. I wasn’t focusing and I moved my arm and—I’m sorry…”
Professor McGonagall looked at him sternly. “Mr. Stanley, be thankful this can be easily fixed. You could have caused irreversible harm to Miss Dinkley. We will discuss your punishment later. In the meantime, you will help me get Miss Dinkley and her belongings to the hospital wing.”
Her tone of voice left no room for argument; not even Gene was willing to protest Paul getting punished for a simple mistake when Professor Minerva McGonagall spoke like that. Paul simply nodded, “Yes, ma’am,” and went to grab Velma’s bookbag and wand. He also bent down to gather up Velma’s clothes from the floor while Professor McGonagall carefully picked up Velma, who was visibly shaking. Paul wondered if she was panicking over what was happening, or if she could hear and therefore knew it was Paul’s fault she’d been turned into a rabbit.
“All the rest of you, carry on,” Professor McGonagall instructed. “Return to your seats. Come along, Mr. Stanley.”
Paul nodded and followed her out of the classroom, the entire time wondering how he was going to apologize to Velma for this.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
He ended up keeping his distance from Velma for a week afterwards, too nervous of how she would react. He was also kept away by her friends, mostly Daphne, who upon hearing about the incident confronted him and accused him of doing it on purpose. He also had to serve detention, and got five points taken away from Slytherin. But he spent his entire detention thinking about what he was going to say, and as soon as he was set free he sped off to find Velma.
His first pick to look was the library, and to his glee he found her at a table in the back doing her homework. She was too absorbed to hear him approach, which was good, because it gave him a chance to get his nerves under control. He blew out a quiet sigh, clenching and unclenching his fists, then pulled a quill out of his pocket and placed it on the parchment she was writing on.
Velma stopped and looked up. He shrugged at her, hands in his pockets, and smiled. “A spare in case you lose your quill again,”
She frowned slightly, then pushed it back over to him and went back to work. His heart sank sadly, but he still didn’t give up. “Can we talk?”
“I’m kind of in the middle of something,” Velma whispered, not looking up at him. The harsh whisper stung.
“But I need to talk to you,”
“About what? Turning someone into a rabbit?”
Now that… that stung hard. A voice that for some reason sounded like Gene’s spoke in his head. Quit being a coward and say it. If nothing else than do it so I don’t have to hear you pining over her for another year.
He sighed and pulled out the chair beside her to sit down. “I’m so sorry that happened. I swear it was an accident. Gene’s rabbit sniffed my arm as I was saying the spell, and I jerked my body, like this—” he mimed his movements from the day of the incident, “and my wand moved and the spell hit you. I swear that’s what happened.” Velma glanced up at him, and for a moment he thought hopefully that she would speak, but then her eyes went back to the parchment. “I’m really, really sorry, Velma. If it makes you feel any better, I got detention and five points taken away from Slytherin.”
“Daphne said she was going to punch you in the face; that made me feel better.” Disappointingly, Paul’s face showed no signs of any punching. It never showed signs of any flaws; what was his skincare routine? Shut up, brain.
“Yeah, your friends confronted me in the hallway the other day. I told them it was an accident. Your one friend—Frank?”
“Fred,”
“Yeah, him, he said he would punch me in the face if he saw me go near you again,”
“Should’ve been Daphne who made that threat. Fred doesn’t follow through unless he’s in the moment.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. One time he saw a group of Gryffindors trying to beat up Shaggy and—” Velma froze, realizing she had raised her head and was looking at Paul. Oh jinkies, he was even cuter up close. “… And never mind.” She looked back down at her homework.
Paul’s heart sank again. He thought he’d been making progress. “Velma, please…” he reached out and placed his hand over hers, making her stop and look up at him. “Please let me make it up to you. I’ll do whatever you want. In fact…” he couldn’t believe he was going to say it, but, “do you want to go to Hogsmeade with me next weekend? I can take you to the Three Broomsticks or something, or wherever you want.”
Velma stared at him in utter surprise. After a moment of blinking at him, she asked, “… Are you asking me out on a date?”
“So I can make it up to you,” Paul said quickly. He didn’t want to ruin this somehow. “I can take you anywhere you want, or if you don’t want to do that I’ll do whatever you want. I just… I really like you, and maybe it doesn’t seem like it right now but I swear that I do. What happened in Transfiguration was a total accident.”
Silence. The seconds ticked by. And with every second that passed Paul’s anxiety grew. She was going to say no. She was going to tell him to go away. She was going to say to never talk to her again. She was going to yell—well, not yell because she wouldn’t want to get kicked out of the library—she was going to furiously whisper-yell that he had some nerve asking her out after he just turned her into a rabbit. She was going to—
“Okay,”
Paul immediately felt hope rise in his chest. “Really?”
“Yeah,” a faint smile was appearing in the corner of Velma’s mouth. “Okay. I’ll go to Hogsmeade with you. But I’m making you go with me to the bookstore first.”
Paul nodded his head so furiously that for a moment Velma thought it would fall off. “Okay, that’s fine. I’ll meet you in the courtyard before noon.”
“Sure.”
He couldn’t keep the smile off his face. “Well… great! I’ll leave you to your homework. I’ll see you tomorrow?”
Velma had a smile on her face, and it was a breathtaking smile if he’d ever seen one. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Paul waited until he had left the library, because he didn’t want to get yelled at by the horrifyingly scary Madam Pince. But when he was out in the hallway, he pumped his fist in victory. “Yes!”
He was so going to tell Gene when he got back to the Slytherin common room that he finally asked out Velma Dinkley, the cute bespectacled Ravenclaw he’d been pining over since last year… and that she said yes. Next weekend couldn’t come any faster…

Is this good enough? @sky-dream161
Works for me~ (This is a prompt art trade! Send me your pics and I’ll write a story based on them!)
PROMPTS ARE ON SHUTDOWN, please only send me prompt requests when it’s open UNLESS you pay 1$ for a priority prompt! :Db Then I’ll get it out right away!
Prompt:
“Don’t worry, Caterpie, we’ll find the crooks who broke your glass orb.” Chikorita, still feeling uneasy after turning into a pokemon, couldn’t help but try and comfort the small caterpiller creature.
She had lived her whole life as a shut-in gamer girl, until one day her crazy ex-boyfriend who she had busted out of numerous criminal activities pit the blame on her that his gang’s ‘transferred goods’ were interfered by her.
Last thing she remembered is waking up in a world of pokemon, with her new best friend, Charmander, constantly showering with her support and praise for how well she fought and did in combat.
She wasn’t sure about any of this… in Anime, isekai meant that you were accidentally taken into a new world.
She wondered… did she get taken into an anime? For being completely innocent in her past life as a human?
Even so, seeing the poor thing crying after losing something so precious to him…
She wanted to do something better with her life, and not make the same mistakes like trusting those who she shouldn’t. Though her heart was guarded in some aspects, she couldn’t lock it away completely from those innocent pokemon who needed her help.
She was always too kindhearted… she just hoped not to make the same mistake this time around…
“Charmander,” She looked to her trusted friend, still finding it hard to admit that she could trust again…
She nodded, “You better believe me and Molly will help you out!” Charmander bundled a fist together and rose it to the sky, “We’re Team Happiness! We make sure justice is served and the weary are saved! We’ll justify you! The homeless friended, the starving fed and fulfilled! We’ll find those goons and get your precious orb fixed in no time!”
The Caterpie sniffled a moment, “You… You guys are so cool.” Seeing snot coming from it’s nose, Molly the newly joined Chikorita to Charmander’s big dream of helping and saving the innocent, lifted up her scarf wrapped tightly by Charmander around her stubby foot and let him blow onto it.
“H-hey..!” Charmander seemed to be offended, but Molly just smiled, apologetically.
“It’s okay..! He’s just a kid, and besides, I’ll justify dirtying the rescue team scarf by washing it later.” She humored, something she wouldn’t dare do back in her human life… she was always too afraid to fight back, but here… she felt some freeing power… as though this world was a dream she could live out the best possible side of herself.
Charmander sighed, “It’s strange enough finding a pokemon who gives itself a nickname… but now one that’s fine with snot on it’s arm?”
The three pokemon laughed as Team Happiness took off into the dungeon for some justified rescuing.
They weren’t expecting this though…
After traveling so far into the dungeon, they were confronted by an evil pokemon trying to gather something called the ‘Soul Orbs’ that contained powerful legendary type power within them.
If one were to wield it’s amazing power, it could make an ordinary pokemon have the same power as that of a legendary!
“No longer will I we be known as the weakest pokemon!” The leader stated, a Kakuna, who had been scheming this for a long time it seemed before Team Happiness entered the scene. “Pokemon that can’t evolve… Pokemon that only know one more like Splash or Transform… well… We’re not gonna be stuck in one form forever! Now, we’ll join together! Fusing ourselves with the Soul Orbs, and become the new terror on this world! Then everyone will have to respect us! In fear!!!”
The pokemon around him smashed the other Soul Orbs, as Caterpie scooted back to hide behind Molly and Charmander.
“Grrk! If they become legendaries, we won’t be able to fight them in our current states!” Charmander threw her arms up over herself, the wind from the pokemon started to unnaturally evolve taking place. As the room began to glow a pure white, there was suddenly a sound that Molly heard… that from when she first had the dream of becoming a pokemon…
“The soul of a human can save that of a untamed Pokemon… they’re wild natures long for friendship and peace… Young Chikorita… Do you accept this great burden? Will you give your soul to protect all those that you cherish? This world that has only brought you joy and purpose..? What will you choose… I wonder.”
It was common for the voice to say, ‘I wonder’ at the end of everything it said, but now, as Molly took one powerful step forward with the dried tears and snot of the little Caterpie behind her, she gained the courage she lacked in her previous life to to do what was right.
“I won’t let you place the blame on those that didn’t do anything wrong! If you want to be strong, then your physical forms can’t stop you! It’s the heart that makes a hero! And friendships give you the power to become mightier than even that of a legendary!”
Molly felt her being begin to glow too.
As the pokemon did infact turn into what looked like a mutated version of a large, powerful pokemon with many types, abilities, and moves… Chikortia evolved into a Bayleef.
“B-but they’re still more powerful!” Charmander was amazed she evolved, but still not fully convinced.
Molly lowered her now elongated leaf to her dear friend, “You once rescued me, thinking it was impossible to reach me before the cliff collapse. I was still so new to this form- I-I mean… Well, I’ll explain later, but I couldn’t get up and run. I was so tired and scared… Charmander… can I give you a name?”
A name to a pokemon meant a higher level of friendship, and Charmander’s eyes began to swell in gratitude.
“Molly…” She nodded and took her leaf, getting back on her feet. “I won’t let you down, Molly! Just like you, I want to be able to help all pokemon! Even these guys deserve a chance to face their wrongs and be saved too!”
“Then… You’re new name… is … Kayda.”
In a swarm of white, Molly could feel Kayda’s evolution power as it began to morph and change her body, biologically configuring her to be a more powerful, truer self.
“RAWWWAH!” Swiping her new Charmeleon head around, she seemed more riled up then ever! Her voice also had a bit of a growl to it now, more matured than before. “Let’s take these down and teach them what true power true redemption means!”
“Yeah!” But before they could, turning behind them, they saw the little Caterpie morph into a strange pokemon. Not a metapod, but a pink creature that flew and had the same sort of body-shape as a kitten…
“Hehe! My wondering was right.” The little pink kitten spun in a circle and giggled. “I guess bringing you here was a good use of my last bit of strength after all.”
“Ah! What are you!?” Molly exclaimed, but before anyone could answer anything, the conformed, unified monster in front of them let out a terrifying roar.
“We can’t… control… ourselves…” the voices of many different pokemon sounded like they were in pain.
“Whaa?? What is that thing!?” Kayda stated, gawking and standing back. “It’s hideous!”
“This is what happens when one isn’t true to their own selves, and uses artificial means to grow stronger…” The pink kitten pokemon stated. “Could all of this been avoided if they only knew… that true power comes from deep within themselves… it was always there… lurking in wait to discover a true soul to connect with… and through that bond, create a even greater them… I wonder.” it’s long tail flicked behind it in a fluid motion.
“I… I know that voice.” Molly began to recognize the pokemon.
“Hehe! I’m Mew. I called to you and saved you from your moment of peril. It was fun!” It whipped it’s tail in front of itself, acting carefree.
“F-fun..?” Molly looked a little unnerved by that statement, knowing that she was about to die when she was suddenly taken to the pokemon world.
“Those humans were bullies… Your soul shone like you were about to evolve to protect your little sister who was still in the house…”
“Ah! Beth!” Molly began to freak out, “Is she okay!?”
“Not to worry! She’s waiting for you… in this world too.” Mew lightly hovered, “I’ve given her a special form. One that will help you both get back to your world… but first-!” She spun around again, dropping what looked like…
“Are these..!?” Kayda exclaimed, seeing their evolution stones fall down along with one mega stone…
“It’s your time to decide… do you feel you need these to win?” Mew tilted it’s head to one side, “Or do you believe you can rescue each of those fused souls and bring their true pokemon natures back to their original forms..?”
Molly and Kayda looked to one another… then nodded.
“We can justify this on our own means!” Kayda stated, doing her signature bundled fist gesture and gesturing it high out in front of her.
“Yeah!” Molly stomped on the ground, “We don’t have to faint them, all we have to do is reach them. Our hearts will be more than enough… and then… I can see my sister again…” She looked determinedly towards the mutated legendary pokemon that held many different pokemon’s souls within it.
“Hehe! I knew you’d say that! Good luck, rescue team! I’ll be over here in case you need me… I wonder.” Mew flew up to the top of the room, and at times, would dive down to use a legendary move that would help Team Happiness as they tried to pull out a soul that wanted to be saved.
With the power of Mew to help unfuse the pokemon, but only being able to if they were willing to be freed, the last pokemon to convince was Kakuna…
It was still trapped, panting in it’s new form as it had gotten increasingly smaller in size from each soul being freed from the team.
“I… don’t care… if I can’t control myself… I … won’t be made fun of… anymore!” The Kakuna reared it’s mutated legendary head up. “AHHHHH!!” Clearly in pain, the monster seemed to charging up for some ultimate attack…
Already at their ropes end, Molly and Kayda panted themselves, sweating on the sides of their faces.
“We can’t… keep holding out like this much longer…” Molly admitted.
“We just… gotta hold on… break him out of it…” Kayda faltered slightly and had to catch herself with one claw upon the ground.
“Ah! Kayda!” Molly dashed to her side, using her leaf to stabilize her back up. “We can’t give up… but… I can’t lose you either.” She gritted her teeth. “Maybe.. maybe we can’t save them all…”
Kayda looked exhausted, “I… won’t give up… I’ll save every soul… not just the innocent ones! But the ones that deserve a second chance too! That Kakuna…” She looked tenderly up to the beast, still charging it’s ginormous legendary attack above it’s head in a white sun… “It never knew friendship or kindness… it never had the chance to just feel accepted and loved before…”
Molly reflected on her own life…
“He doesn’t know what it’s like! It’s not fair! I’ll justify the cause and means to bring it back to safety! It’s gonna know what it’s like to not have someone give up on it!!! I won’t lose!!!” Kayda took a powerful step forward,… but again, twitched and fell back down, getting held up by Molly.
“Kayda!”
Watching this, the rescued pokemon behind the team began to look to one another.
“We may be weak…” A Magickarp hopped over to the team…
“But we want to help…” A tiny Dunsparce also bounced up, slowly…
The other pokemon, unable to evolve or naturally weak by their natures, began to surround Molly and Kayda.
“E-…Everyone…” Molly watched as they formed a shield, basically moving in front of them to take any hit for them.
“Stop this, Kakuna!” A Spinda cried out.
“We know you feel forgotten… I can’t evolve, so no one really spars with me…” A Patchirisu declared, lowering it’s head and ears in shame. “But… We trained countless times to get ready to steal the Soul Orbs… didn’t we? We broke a few but were able to hang in there till we succeeded! Maybe… maybe that was fun enough… Maybe we don’t need to get stronger this way!”
“Let’s all hang out and play without worrying what we can and can’t do! We’re stronger together! Just look at what we accomplished!” A little Emolga stepped up then.
“Please, Kakuna!” Qwilifish’s voice came off deep but sorrowful, “Let’s all be friends again!”
A Rattata jumped in place, “We don’t care if you’re strong! We like you just the way you are!”
The white sun above the mutated legendary pokemon’s head began to shrink in large strokes, as Kakuna’s true voice began to ring out, crying…
“Everyone…  I didn’t want to fail you… I… I love you guys so much!” the mutated legendary began to cry too. “You trusted me as your leader… I didn’t want to give up for you all… I know you’re not betraying me… this is scary, but I just didn’t want to disappoint any of you… I… You’re all my friends!”
“Then don’t destroy your friends.” Mew mused, giggling into it’s paws. “Time to come out then, did you have fun?” flying down, it used it’s power to then separate Kakuna from the mutated pokemon.
“It’s acts like this is just a game…” Kayda sweatdropped, awkwardly. “The whole world was about to be rampaged by these pokemon but it just… cutely chimes in at the last moment?”
“Oh? You think I’m cute?” Mew flew the soul back down, and it reformed into a Kakuna, who was lovingly embraced by everyone.
“Now for the finishing blow.” Molly held up her Rescue badge, as Kayda did too.
They shot out their Rescue Team Power as the mutated legendary’s husk was destroyed, and with it, new Soul Orbs were created in it’s heated remains…
They tinked against the ground while Mew gathered them and sent them into a pocket dimension. “I think Beth will be so happy to hear her sister saved the world..!” Mew playfully flew in loops in the air.
As a final wish, Molly asked if Kayda could return with them to the human world…
“Silly!” Mew giggled once again into it’s paws.
“Ah! Why are you laughing!?” Kayda threw her shaking fist up again, “Am I not justified to want to be with my friend always!?”
Mew flew down to Kayda, smirking almost as it lowered it’s eyes to her…
“You are Beth…”
Kayda stood back, “W-what..?”
Molly also looked to her friend, “It… It can’t be…”
“Hehehe! In order to teach Molly true strength, I had to bring her someone’s soul who already had a strong spirit to teach her.” Mew danced in the air, “Her own sister!” it spread out it’s arms in glee. “Now that you know who you are, I’ll return your memories for you!”
Mew glowed and passed through Kayda like a ghost, but as she did so, Kayda began to cry.
“Molly…” she looked over to her. “I remember…” tears streamed down her eyes. “I remember hearing noises from my bed as I was playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon… I remember the yelling of men’s voices I didn’t recognize… gun shots… but..!” she looked to Mew, “There was a light-!”
“Sorry, didn’t mean to throw you into that mix, but I figured if you both disappeared, those mean bullies would simply just go away. You’re home’s a little ransacked though… nothing a little Legendary power can’t fix!”
Mew had brought back Caterpie, revealing it had switched places with their old friend, and also summoned many real legendaries that the team had helped previously to turn back time.
Molly and Beth were returned to their human selves, able to call the police and for Molly to finally have the strength to turn down her now Ex-boyfriend from bailing him out of any more trouble.
The girls moved and continued to be successful in their lives… one learning that strength comes from declaring a true feeling of love from one’s heart, and the other, that she was never truly alone, and her sister was always right there beside her… that she could benefit her Sister’s life too, and they could teach one another.
She never let Molly live down the fact that Mew thought her ‘younger’ sister was what she needed to grow and be the strong, independent woman she is today. But Molly lets her enjoy that right to boast, after all… she wasn’t wrong. Molly had always felt she needed to shelter and protect Beth since she was so shy, but it was truly Molly who was the shy one… who needed Beth the most.
(A little darker than most, but I feel the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Games do have some incredibly cool twists! I hope you enjoy your prompt and that many pokemon fans can enjoy your blog! ^^)

💫, ☄, and 🌠 for you please ! Oh and, stay healthy, stay safe you two !
Thank you for the ask, my lovely @praisingthecountessofvesuvia!! These questions are so much fun to answer. I hope you’re staying safe and healthy as well 💖
💫: What is your favorite fact about this character and why?
That’s a hard one! I’ve spent quite a bit of time world building & character building for Kelly (even if I’ve barely published any of it, oops). I think my favorite fact about her is that, as cliche as it sounds, she follows her heart no matter what. Her family has had a history of hating the Alnazars, so the fact that she fell so hopelessly in love with Asra even whilst knowing she shouldn’t just hits me so deeply. Like, she probably could’ve avoided the plague, too, but instead she did what was right in her heart and tried to save as many people as she could. She loved Asra until the very end, even though he didn’t even show up on her deathbed. I respect the hell out of her for that.
☄️: Does this OC deserve better treatment from you? Do you make them suffer just a little bit too much? Be nice to them!
Oof, this is a call-out, isn’t it? I mean, yeah, she’s totally been through hell and lost pretty much every single person she ever cared about. She was supposed to kill the person she was falling in love with. She also died. But everything ends up okay in the end, right? I am a SUCKER for some angst, but also: Kelly, I am very sorry that I created the most tragic backstory that I possibly could for you. You deserve only good things!!!
🌠: On a scale of 1-10 how Baby is your OC? BONUS: When asking the question, rate the OC yourself and see if the reply matches up!
I would have to say that Kelly is a solid 8 on the Baby scale. She is one of the most kindhearted people ever, and if you treat her right, you’ll definitely be on the receiving end of that kindness. She loves to find so much joy in the little things, and she always seems to be smiling, which screams Baby to the max. But then again, she was willing to kill Asra when she thought he’d done her family wrong, so I can’t exactly give her a 10/10. Kelly would most definitely disagree--she thinks she’s quite tough, and would probably give herself a 4, maybe less. Bless her heart.

The Family that Shouldn’t Be
Summary: With Muriel and Eustace dead, Courage finds himself all alone at the farmhouse. Fortunately or unfortunately for Courage, the villains he faced in the past begins to make themselves at home at the farmhouse, bringing with them much fun and mayhem the small pink dog can handle.
Rated T for just in case
I feel like I went off-topic at the start of this chapter before bringing the Clutching Foot in. . .maybe? Either way, I hope it isn’t too confusing for my readers. Also, I will, on occasion, call Big Toe as the Clutching Foot since it's one of the other names he's called. I can't wait to start on the next chapter with the Black Puddle Queen.
All Courage the Cowardly Dog character belongs to John Dilworth
The Clutching Foot Who Brought Terror

Courage clutched the flyer tightly in his paws as he gathered the. . .well, courage, to ask Katz if they could go to the County Fair. It was always a Bagge tradition to go even if Eustace didn't enjoy it. Plus, Courage hadn't seen Scarecrow in a while, and it would be nice to see a familiar face. Swallowing hard, Courage crept over Katz.
"Katz?" Courage said. Katz looked away from his book to look at Courage. "The County Fair is happening right now, and I was wondering if we can go."
Courage waited for Katz to say speak, but before the feline could, Cajun seemingly popped in from out of nowhere, startling the dog. "The County Fair? It sounds like fun! I'll go with ya, Pup."
Courage supposed he could go with Cajun if Katz didn't want to go. Before Courage could say anything, Katz spoke up, "I have nothing better to do, so I will accompany you to the County Fair."
"Nah, it's okay, pussy cat. You seemed so enthralled with your book that Pup and I can go by ourselves." Cajun insisted.
"That's the thing about books. You can put them aside and come back to them another time. You would know this if you read a book other than a cookbook." Katz countered as he closed his book and set it on the table.
Courage could feel the tension in the air, and he was curious to know why Katz and Cajun couldn't get along. He was sure it was more than clashing personalities.
"I want to bring along Le Quack and Weremole," Katz stated as he got up from his chair.
"Why?" Cajun inquired.
"I don't trust to leave Le Quack alone at the farmhouse, and I don't want Weremole to eat someone he shouldn't," Katz answered.
It wasn't hard finding Weremole and Le Quack. Weremole was, of course, was outside in what Cajun had dubbed Weremole's den. Weremole didn't have anything better to do, or so he said. Courage was sure that Weremole didn't have any rabbits to eat and no doubt wanted to eat someone, and Le Quack was down in the basement working on a new scheme. Le Quack was reluctant to come along but really didn't have a choice in the matter. Much like he didn't have a choice in where to sit.
When Courage opened the truck door, Le Quack hopped in and got settled, but Katz insisted, quite forcefully, that Courage sat in front, leaving Le Quack to sit in the back with Weremole. As soon they arrived at the fair and Katz parked the truck, Courage jumped out after Cajun, who was laughing at the fluffy state Le Quack turned out from riding in the back.
Courage spotted Scarecrow getting ready to operate the hayride, he turned to Katz and said, "I'll be right back." and walked over to Scarecrow.
Scarecrow looked up, saw a familiar face, and smiled. "Ah, Courage! It's been a while." He looked over to the truck and frowned. "Were are Muriel and her husband?"
Courage's ears drooped. "They died. . . months ago." Courage answered
Scarecrow's expression changed to one of sadness. "I'm sorry to hear that. How are you coping with their passing?" Scarecrow asked.
"I got some friends living with me and helping me out." Courage explained.
Scarecrow looked back at the villains and frowned. "They don't look. . . trustworthy," he said.
Courage smiled awkwardly. Scarecrow wasn't far from the truth. "Well, I trust them with my life." unlike in the past.
Scarecrow still wasn't sure, but if Courage and Muriel were willing to give him a second chance after what he had done to the Bagges, then he would trust the dog's judgment. Scarecrow smiled and said, "Well, I trust what you're doing. Don' be a stranger if you need anything at all. I also hope you have fun at the fair."
"Thanks, Scarecrow." Courage said, waved goodbye, and joined Katz and the others again.
"Who's that?" Cajun asked.
"That's Scarecrow. We met him in the cornfield last year. He was sad because he wasn't scary enough, so he believed becoming bad was the way to become scary. He tried to protect Muriel from Eustace and me. He locked down the house, set up traps, turned the basement into a panic room, and locked Muriel in there." Courage explained.
They looked over at Scarecrow, driving the hayride. "He don't look big and tough now," Cajun commented.
"After I rescued Muriel, I tried driving us away, but he chased us into a cornfield. Crows weren't afraid of him, so I got other crows to attack him. Muriel and I forgave him for meaning well and got him a job here." Courage finished.
"You are too nice, doggy." Le Quack told Courage as he walked past him.
"Ain't a bad thing," Cajun said as he followed after the duck.
Katz glanced down at Courage and inquired, "What do you want to do first?"
That was an easy answer. The first thing Courage wanted to do was ride the carousel. It was by his definition safer than the other rides, he did enjoy the Ferris wheel, but even the thought of him stopping at the top and the bar meant to keep him locked in breaking off and falling to his death usually left him with a death grip on the bar. So here was Courage, riding on the carousel giddy with laughter as the ride went round and round.
After the ride finished, Cajun had managed to convince Courage to ride the roller coaster with him lucky for Courage; it wasn't one of those tall coasters with a lot of loops. It still made the dog queasy after the ride ended. After wandering around with the villains looking at food and games, Cajun stopped at the dart booth. They watched the fox miss the balloons.
"You are, how you say? Bad at this." chuckled Le Quack.
"What a gyp! I hit that one balloon, and it didn't pop!" Cajun growled.
Le Quack continued chuckling at Cajun's misfortune, and Courage was sure he heard Katz chuckle softly too. Moving on, Courage stopped at the booth with the fishes. He did enjoy getting a fish and always gotten one every time he came to the fair.
Before Courage could hand over money to booth operator, Cajun spoke up, "You're gonna get a fish? Ain't ya worried about pussy cat here eatin' it in the middle of the night?"
Katz glared at Cajun, and Courage knew that the feline was planning to cause the fox harm. As the booth operator handed Courage the ping pong balls, he knew what he had to do to defuse the situation. Courage threw the balls haphazardly at the fishbowls until they were all thrown.
"Bad luck, Pup." Cajun sympathized.
"At least he didn't get ripped off as you did," Katz said with a smirk.
"Oh, haha, go ahead and laugh at my pain." Cajun sniffed then picked Courage up. "Pup and I are gonna drown our sorrow in sweets."
"But. But. . ." Courage began protesting, not wanting to leave Katz, Le Quack, and Weremole behind.
"It'll be fine, Pup. They'll follow us. At least Katz will not want to see me get ya into trouble." Cajun reassured Courage.
Courage resigned to his current fate and looked over his shoulder to see the others were indeed following after them. Cajun set Courage down near the funnel cake stand and ordered one for himself,
"What about you, Pup? Do ya want a funnel cake?" Cajun asked. Courage had his eyes set on the cotton candy stand nearby. Seeing this, Cajun paid for his funnel cake and bought a cotton candy for Courage. Le Quack bought a donut for himself, they sat on a bench and watched Weremole sniff the ground before rushing towards the cornfield. They watched the stalks rustle and heard a squeal followed by a snarl.
"Guess Weremole found himself lunch," Cajun observed.
Courage bit into the cotton candy and perceived that Katz wasn't with them.
"Where's Katz?" Courage asked Le Quack.
"No idea." Le Quack retorted.
Courage's brows furrowed as he puzzled over where Katz has gone to. Could he have gotten bored or tired and went back to the truck? It was a possibility. Courage finished his cotton candy and was licking the remnants off the paper cone when Katz came strolling over to the group. Courage glimpsed something in Katz's paw.
The feline stopped in front of Courage, and holding the object out to him said, "Here."
Courage eyed the item in Katz's paws and saw it was a small goldfish plushie. Katz cleared his throat and stated, "I suspect you wanted to get one of those goldfishes greatly, and I'm sure you would want one to feed and watch, but this is the only solution I could think of where you won't have to suffer heartbreak when it does. And you can cuddle with it when you're asleep. . ."
"Where did ya get it?" Cajun asked.
"At the ring toss booth. It wasn't hard landing them onto the pegs." Katz said with a shrug.
Courage focused his attention more on Katz's face than the exchanging happening between him and Cajun. Courage was sure that Katz was abashed about getting the plushie for him. But why did Katz have to be abashed about doing something kind for him? Courage couldn't figure Katz out. He seemed to switch between being aloof to being kindhearted towards him but still act cold towards the other villains.
Not wanting to be rude and appreciating the gesture, Courage said to Katz, "Than you, Katz."
Katz almost smiled, but it never made it on his face because of Cajun. "So now that you won Pup a prize, does that make ya both boyfriends?" he inquired.
The animosity in the air was very heavy, and Le Quack hurried away from the fox. Katz tossed the goldfish at Courage. He fumbled with it until he was able to catch it. Katz, in the meantime, stomped over to Cajun his paw shot out and gripped the fox's throat. A strangled sound wheezed its way out his mouth as he clawed at Katz's tight grip. Katz ignored Cajun as he dragged the fox over to the high striker game, he slammed Cajun against the long narrow frame and the fox clutched his throat as he coughed and wheezed as Katz slowly sauntered away.
"What is your problem?! Can't ya take a joke?!" barked Cajun.
Katz ignored Cajun as he grabbed the hammer out of the startled high striker operator's hand and swung it down onto the lever. The puck shot up, taking Cajun with it, and his head slammed against the bell at the top. Courage had followed after Katz and gasped aloud when he witnessed what he did to Cajun and hurried over to where the fox fell.
"Cajun? Are you okay?" he asked, and Cajun answered back with a pained groan. Courage turned his attention to Katz and said, "That wasn't very nice, Katz. Why do you always have to be so mean to Cajun?"
Katz stared at Courage, scoffed, and handed the hammer back to the operator. Courage sighed as Katz walked off, sure he was heading for the truck. What had started as a nice day ended in misery as Courage and Le Quack helped the injured Cajun back to the truck with Weremole trailing behind. Katz was already sitting in the truck sulking. After the rest of the party got into the truck, they were heading back home.
The running engine was the only sound rending the air. Having recovered a little from Katz did to him, Cajun stared out the window.
"Thanks for the head injury," Cajun growled.
"If you can string together words into a sentence, you're fine." Katz retorted.
Courage was getting anxious and hoped Cajun didn't say anything to push Katz more. When the farmhouse came into sight, Courage noticed that Katz was slowly the truck to a halt far from the house. Peering up at Katz, Courage saw the cat's eyes narrowed as he seemingly glared at the farmhouse. Stretching as high as his tiny legs could stretch, Courage glanced over the dashboard, and his eyes widened at the giant hole where the front door once was.
"Why does it look like someone blew the door in?" Cajun asked.
"Do we have a robber in the house?" Le Quack inquired, looking through the window.
Courage let out a gasp. The table holding Muriel and Eustace's ashes. Did it get ruined from the possible explosion?
"Oh no." he whimpered.
Courage scampered over Cajun's lap, worked the door open, jumped out, and hurried towards the house, the villains' calls to wait or to come back falling on deaf ears. Heart pounding, Courage rushed over to the table, ignoring the debris on the floor. Courage climbed onto the chair set near the table, and after checking the contents on the table heaved out a sigh. Other than a few shards of wood and one picture frame knocked over and the rest seemingly out of place, nothing was really disturbed.
"Courage!" Katz snapped, resulting in the dog turning in Katz's direction. Katz walked over to Courage and said, "Please don't go rushing off into danger like that!"
"Why? I've done it plenty of times." Courage reminded him.
Katz was about to reply, but a noise in the kitchen halted it. The villains headed for the kitchen, and Courage followed after them. Katz opened the door; they entered and stopped short, and Courage looked around Katz's legs, and his jaw dropped. Big Toe and the other four toes looked up from the meal on the floor.
Katz, of course, saw a mess on what was once a clean floor and the refrigerator door wide open. He could about feel his eye twitch.
The Clutching Foot looked up at them all, and Big Toe asked, "What?" followed by a chorus of "Yeah, what?"
Surprisingly it was Cajun that spoke up in anger. "What? What?! Your eating what I was planning on making for dinner! And you left the fridge door wide open! Your gonna spoil everything inside!" Cajun slammed the door shut. He opened the freezer door and fished for the ice cube tray and headed over to the counter. Courage walked around the Clutching Foot to help Cajun.
"What are you doing here, Big Toe?" Le Quack asked.
"We needed to do lay low, see?" Big Toe answered, followed by, "Yeah, lay low."
"Lay low from what?" Cajun asked as he placed the ice pack on top of his head.
"We did a heist, see? And this is the only place we could think of to hide out, see?" Big Toe answered. The Clutching Foot stomped over to bag near the table and grabbing the end of the pack with his teeth, tipped out the contents inside. Gemstones of various sizes and values and three statues of different height tumbled on the floor. Le Quack plucked one of the gems off the floor and examined it closely.
Cajun whistled. "That's a lot of rocks."
Courage picked up one of the statues and inquired, "What are you going to do with them?"
"Sell 'em, see?" Big Toe answered.
"Well, I hope you plan on cleaning this mess you so graciously made and fix the gaping hole out front." Katz hissed.
"Me and the boys can lick the floor clean, see? But we gonna need some help with the wall, see?" Big Toe informed the cat.
One of Katz's eyes twitched at 'lick the floor clean.' He heaved out a sigh, pivot, and walked out of the kitchen. Everyone watched the cat go, but it was Courage who went after Katz.
"Katz? Where are you going?" He interrogated as he followed Katz out of the giant hole.
"Away from here before I do something I may regret," Katz answered back.
"When will you be back?" Courage questioned further.
He received no answer as Katz slammed the truck door shut and drove off. Courage whined softly. All he wanted was a lovely day at the County Fair with Katz, but when that didn't happen, he hoped Katz's mood would improve when they got home, but no such luck. With a sigh, Courage looked at the destroyed wall and knew at least one way to make Katz feel better.
Katz returned quite late that night. Driving didn't settle his anger, especially since Di Lung almost drove into him. And Di Lung shouting, "Watch where you're goin', ya fool!" as he drove off in the opposite direction had Katz digging his claws into the steering wheel. Katz headed to the one place where he could, at the very least, feel better, his motel where his spiders still reside.
Being with his spiders did give Katz a little peace of mind, and he had come across someone vandalizing his once precious motel. . .and well, no one is going to miss one human. Katz certainly won't. After seeing his spiders, Katz went to his new club, Klub Katz. He quite liked the name that he decided to use it again since the last time he used it was on an island that very few people came across. Now Katz was home, and all he wanted to do was sleep. Katz was pleased to see the hole fixed, and a new door put up as he walked into the living room. The only one Katz could see still awake at this hour was Cajun. The fox sat in the rocking chair, looking bored as he flipped through the channels.
Katz took a step towards the stairs when Cajun spoke up, "There's a plate in the oven for ya if ya haven't eaten yet."
"I'm stunned that you saved me some dinner," Katz replied.
Cajun scoffed. "I wouldn't not after what ya did to me, and even if I were 'kind' enough to do so, I would do something get my vengeance on ya. But Pup insisted we saved dinner for ya and made sure I didn't over spice it."
That was considerate of Courage. Katz glanced around the room and commented, "I see the Clutching Foot cleaned up the house."
"Nah, the only thing the Clutching Foot did was lick the kitchen floor clean." Katz made a disgusted face. "But, Pup mopped the kitchen floor, swept the floor in here, tidied up, and fixed the wall."
The anger in Katz began rising again. "You made Courage clean up all by himself?" Katz asked slowly.
"I ain't that heartless. At least to Pup, I ain't anymore. And since Pup's short, I helped fix the parts he couldn't reach and help put in the door." Cajun told the feline.
Lucky for the fox, Katz doesn't have to wring his neck. "Why are you up? You're usually asleep by this time?" Katz inquired, trying to be a little bit civil to the fox.
"The Clutching Foot decided to become roommates with me in the basement, and all five toes snores. Loudly." Cajun explained. "I may curl up on the couch and sleep there later. You're so lucky to sleep in a bed with Pup, who probably don't snore."
"Indeed." Katz agreed. "But he does have nightmares and will on occasion wake screaming from terror."
"Still better than constant loud snorin'." Cajun shot back.
Katz gave Cajun a rare smile and headed for the kitchen. Katz heated his dinner, ate alone, then washed and dried the dishes, putting them away, and headed for the stairs. He quietly entered the room and got into bed and looked over at Courage. Katz was sure he felt his heart skip a beat when he spotted the fish plushie he got for Courage cradled in his arms. A red paw reached out to touch the sleeping dog but drew back. Katz laid down and fell asleep.
The next morning was pretty average, save for the new addition, or addition in the farmhouse. Once Courage was awake and had gone down to the kitchen for breakfast, Cajun asked if he could help make breakfast seeing how there are now five more mouths to feed. Courage was more than happy to help. The whole tome, Courage could feel Katz leering at them, and not only did it make him uncomfortable, but he wasn't sure what they did to deserve it.
Breakfast went along fine and without any disastrous result. Around lunchtime was a different matter. It came to Courage's attention that Katz was reading the same newspaper, which, in his countless hours of observation, knew he was still feeling moody. Hoping that making the cat another cup of tea would cheer him up, Courage headed for the kitchen. Once he stepped inside, he spotted Cajun at the sink, and something was. . .off. The fox had his back to Courage, and he could hear Cajun slowly run a knife sharpener over a blade.
Courage fidget in his spot, not wanting to get close to Cajun to use the stove. He jumped when Cajun spoke. "Ah, Courage. I'm glad you're here."
Cajun's voice sent chills down Courage's spine, and after swallowing the lump that formed in his throat, he asked, "A-are you getting ready to make lunch?" Courage didn't have a clue as to why Cajun was making him so nervous.
The sound of the knife sharpener stopped abruptly, "Why yes, Courage." cooed Cajun as he set the sharpener down on the counter then spun around. "And you're to be the main course!"
Cajun laughed a malicious laugh as he held up the now sharpen gleaming meat cleaver. Courage made a good impression of a fluff ball as he screamed and ran out of the kitchen swiftly, leaving the door swinging in his wake. Courage rushed over to Katz as the cat peeked over his newspaper.
"Dear boy, what has gotten you into a state of terror now?" he inquired.
Courage hopped in place as he tried to explain through his babble about what transpired in the kitchen. As Courage finished his tale, Cajun walked biting into a carrot.
"What's all the screamin' about?" he asked. Courage belted out another scream and ran out the front door. "Was it somethin' I said?" Cajun asked.
Katz didn't answer. Instead, he got out of his chair and strode over to Cajun as he rolled the newspaper up. He proceeded to whack the fox on the head with the paper. Cajun yelped and tried to defend himself with the carrot.
"What did I do this time?!" demanded Cajun.
"Courage informed me that you were going to cook him for lunch." hissed Katz.
"What?! What insanity is this?" Cajun wondered.
"Are you going to deny it?" Katz interrogated.
"Of course, I am! First off, none of my recipes call for a dog of any kind, seein' how they are a distant relative of mine, it feels a bit like cannibalism to me. And second, I was out in the garden harvestin' some of the crops for lunch." Cajun defended and held up the carrot as evidence. "So either Pup is lyin', or there's two of me, and the second one is a lot more murderous than me."
"I hope you have a doppelganger because I would have to hurt you very badly if you tried to hurt Courage in any way." Katz threatened.
"Story of my life," Cajun grumbled and took another bite out of the carrot.
Courage was trying his best to hide, but it was pretty tough when he couldn't stop shaking, which in turn caused the bucket to rattle. He couldn't understand the villains. Courage thought they were no longer trying to kill him. But after the thing with Cajun in the kitchen, he soon had Weremole to contend with, the feral creature chased him around the house, his teeth gnashing until Courage took refuge in the barn.
And as Courage tried to catch his breath from all that running, Le Quack showed up, lit a bomb he had, thrown it in, and locked the doors on Courage.
Courage fumbled around for the bomb, quite glad that not only was light coming from the loft door, but the lit wick on the bomb helped him find it and put it out before it exploded. Lunch was tense for him as he sat very close to Katz, hoping the cat didn't mind, which he didn't seem to as he didn't say anything to it or tried to push the dog away. That seemed to lure Courage into a false sense of relaxation. Courage decided to take a bath after lunch to help calm himself further. He presumed Katz didn't like him sitting close to him. The cat had entered the bathroom, and when Courage asked him what he was doing there, Katz proceeded to grab the dog by the top of his head and attempted to drown him in the tub.
Courage thrashed about until he was successful in getting out of Katz's grip. He gasped for air, and as Katz reached for him again, Courage whimpered as he scrambled out of the tub. His wet paws made it difficult for Courage to open the door, but Katz approaching gave him the incentive, and he tore the door open and ran out. Tears pricked Courage's eyes as he wondered why now after the villains have been living with him, they decided to try and kill him. He thought they changed after he saved them countless times, and they rescued him once.
Villains will never change; it seemed. Determine not to stay around when the Clutching Foot decides it's his turn to go after him; Courage peeked from his hiding place and seeing no one in sight took haste running from the farm with no destination in mind. The dog ran until he was close to collapsing, being out in the burning sun until he spotted a familiar object approaching quickly. When Courage arrived, panting and sweating, he found himself at Shirley's wagon. He hesitated to climb the step and seeing if Shirley was home. Would she attack him as the villains have?
Courage didn't have time to ponder further, the door open and Shirley appeared.
"Ah, Courage. It's been a long time since we last met. Come in and have some tea with me." Shirley offered.
Not only was Courage parched, but he couldn't say no to the gypsy without the possibility of incurring her wrath. He hopped onto the step and walking into her wagon, which felt a lot cooler than outside. Courage sat at the table as Shirley prepared the tea and set the cups down.
"Thank you." Courage said, taking the drink and gulping it down.
"You're welcome," Shirley replied and took a sip from hers. "How are your Muriel and the stupid one doing?"
Courage with a sigh set the glass down and told the gypsy in detail about their passing months ago.
Shirley listened to Courage's story and feeling commiserating for the pink dog said, "I'm sorry for your loss, Courage. If you ever wish to communicate with your Muriel or the stupid one, don't hesitate to seek me out. I'll charge you a small sum for it."
Courage smiled and felt a little calm. "Thank you, Shirley," he replied.
Shirley nodded in response then asked a question that made Courage tense up, "Have you been living all alone?"
Courage shook his head. He explained that some villains he encountered in his past came to live with him for one reason or another. How the months that followed, they never once tried to harm him and how they ever saved him from a water creature that was similar to the Black Puddle Queen, but all that seemed to have changed today.
"I just don't understand." Courage whined. "We were living happily, then all of a sudden, they tried to kill me today." Katz's trying to drown him hurt Courage the most.
Shirley was ready to come up with some curses to help Courage out, but first, she needed more details before she could start. "Has anything changed recently?" she inquired.
"Well, the Clutching Foot arrived yesterday. He wanted a place to lay low because he had just robbed a place and stolen a couple of gemstones and three golden statues." Courage answered.
Shirley seemed to perk at the mention of the three statues. She got up from the table and rummaged around the contents in her trunk. Once she found what she was looking for, Shirley brought it over to the table.
"These statues, Did one of them look like this?" she questioned as she set the worn paper on the table.
Courage scanned the drawing and gasped. It looked exactly like one of the statues that the Clutching Foot had stolen.
"Yes, one of the statues look like that." Courage answered.
"Well, the good news is that none of your new questionable friends were trying to kill you," Shirley explained.
It was like a terrible weight on Courage lifted only for a new one to settle on the dog.
"What's the bad news?" he asked because there is always bad news.
"The bad news is that your friends are possibly in danger," Shirley told him.
"What?" Courage squeaked.
"A spirit lives in the statue. The spirit strives on terror and will take on the form or something or someone the person is afraid of." Shirley explained.
"Except for the Clutching Foot, I've been living with the villains for months. It doesn't explain why it took the forms of Katz, Cajun, Le Quack, and Weremole." Courage stated.
"Maybe you're still afraid of them subconsciously." Shirley offered.
It could be. Courage has seen Katz angry plenty of times and seen him take it out on Cajun most of those times.
"Why would the villains be in danger? There's nothing they're afraid of." Courage said.
"Anyone would be afraid of being eaten," Shirley answered.
Courage almost spilled his tea. "What?" he whispered.
"This spirit eats those it terrorizes. Which was lucky for you when you ran away." Shirley said.
"Oh, no." Courage whined. He needed to go back and save his frie- no his family. He finished the tea and quickly said, "Thank you for the tea, Shirley." he hesitated and added, "How much do I owe you for the information?"
"Free of charge just this once," Shirley answered.
"Thank you again." Courage replied. He said his goodbyes to Shirley and took off back home, hoping all the way that he's not too late to save them.
Courage didn't notice the distance it took to get home being a fretting state the whole way. It felt quiet when he got home; the door squeaked open much too loud when he pushed it open. Courage's heart thudded hard as he walked into the house, and out of habit, Courage called out, "Katz? Cajun?"
He wasn't surprised when he didn't get a reply. Courage spotted the basement door slightly ajar, and with the knowledge that the villains were in danger, he made his way down the stairs. Halfway down, Courage heard an unfamiliar voice speak, "Hmmm, who to cook first? Not the giant foot, it'll be last. Hmmm, maybe the fox."
"Whoa, whoa. I already been cooked once. I have no desire to be cooked again." Cajun stated.
"And it's that fear of being cooked again is what will make you a delicious appetizer." the evil spirit tittered.
Courage hurried down the rest of the stairs, almost losing his footing twice and once in the basement found the villains tied up except for Weremole, who seemed to be locked in a chest. The chest shook around, and Courage could hear Weremole growling and hissing from inside. A cauldron similar to the one the villains chained Muriel over sat in the middle of the room, and a lovely woman carrying Cajun over her head strolled over to the cauldron.
"Can't we just order you some take out instead?" Cajun offered.
"Cajun fox stew sounds better." the spirit stated.
With a cry, Courage rushed over just as the spirit tossed the screaming fox into the cauldron. Courage leaped and tackled Cajun before he hit the bubbling liquid, and Courage skidded across the ground hard.
"Oh, Pup. I'm so thrilled to see you." Cajun said with a tiny frighten whimper.
"I'm amazed you came back." the spirit said.
"I couldn't let you eat the villains." Courage stated.
The spirit winced slightly at that. "Even after four of your friends tried to kill you?" the spirit inquired.
"I know now that it was you who took on the forms of Cajun, Katz, Le Quack, and Weremole and tried to kill and possibly eat me." Courage said.
"I told ya I wasn't tryin' to cook Pup!" Cajun hollered at Katz.
"Now is not the time for that." Katz hissed back.
"Such bravery. How I loathe it." sneered the spirit. "Luckily, your friends have their little fears that are keeping me from returning into my prison. Did you know the giant foot is afraid of you, dog? It fears you will lick it as you did once before. We already know one of the fox's fears, but the cat's fear is the juiciest I've ever tasted. Would you like to know what it is?"
Courage watched as Katz seemed to freeze at the spirit's words. "No, I don't care what Katz is afraid of. All I care about is saving them from you." Courage told the spirit.
"Even though you still fear them?" the spirit asked with a grin.
"What?" Cajun asked.
Courage could hear the hurt in Cajun's tone, and looking at the other villains staring back at him could see the pain in their eyes.
"You are still afraid even though we done nothing to you the whole time we've been here?" Le Quack asked.
Seeing the smug look on the spirit's face and knowing he had no way out of it, Courage confessed, "How can I not? You are all villains, you all done something terrible in one or another to Muriel or Eustace or both or me, and it's hard to forget when someone or something incurs Katz's wrath." a determined look crossed Courage's face as he stared into the spirit's eyes. "But the spirit refused to mention that I'm afraid of other things and other villains I encountered in the past, it just chose to take on your forms because it was convenient."
"You mean something like these?" the spirit asked. With a wave of its arm, the windmill vandals, the dummies, and the other creatures they encountered recently showed up.
Courage shook at the sight of them but kept his resolve as he continued. "They scare me, but they are are a lot less terrifying than the thought of losing my family to them."
A stun silence filled the basement. "Family? What family?" Le Quack wondered.
"You mean us?" Cajun asked.
"Yes. I never hesitated to save my loved ones from danger, and none of you are the exception. And I decided we were a family after you rescued from that creature." Courage admitted.
"Oh, Pup. I'd hug ya if I could." Cajun said, his tail wagging.
"Such a strange hodgepodge family this is." Le Quack stated.
"What about us?" Big Toe spoke up.
"As long as you don't try to take any of the others hostage to force me to do a heist or any other terrible thing to me, then you can be part of the family." Courage told him.
The previous villains disappeared as the spirit wailed. Courage and the villains turned towards the spirit as it doubled over, taking on the forms of four of them.
"That's unnerving," Cajun commented.
"You wretched little dog! Those positive emotions are like poison to me." the spirit hissed.
"No matter how many times someone or something comes and puts my family in danger, I will continue to face those things to save them." Courage promised.
"We'll do the same for you." Le Quack said.
"Yeah." Big Toe and the other four toes agreed.
The spirit let out a shriek and disappeared. Courage put the fire out the fire under the cauldron first then using his teeth gnawed through the ropes on Cajun since he was closer. Cajun let Weremole out of the chest as Courage freed the others.
"Now then, do you have any idea where that spirit came from?" Katz asked Courage.
"One of the gold statues is its prison." Courage answered.
Everyone turned towards the Clutching Foot. "How were we suppose to know, see?" Big Toe said.
"Yeah, how were we suppose to know?" the other four toes agreed.
"Well, take it back where you got it from," Cajun suggested.
"We can't see? They'll know it's us, see?" Big Toe said, followed by four, "Yeah."
"I'll take it back." Le Quack offered.
"Ain't ya worried about being arrested?" Cajun inquired.
"No prison can hold Le Quack." the duck stated.
"Make it quick," Katz said.
The Clutching Foot and Le Quack went back upstairs first to gather the stolen goods, and Cajun said to Courage, "I'm gonna make ya dumplings for dinner tonight."
"Yay." Courage cheered as his tail wagged.
Courage and Weremole were the next to go upstairs, and once they were gone, Cajun turned to Katz.
"So pussy cat, what are ya afraid of?" Cajun asked Katz.
Katz's ears flattened against his head as he narrowed his eyes at the fox. "Why should I tell you?" he questioned back.
"Fair's fair since you know my fears," Cajun stated.
"And I won't hesitate to light a fire under the cauldron again and make cajun fox stew." Katz countered.
Cajun held his paws up in defeat. "Okay, I get it. I won't ask again."
Cajun left, and after making sure he was all alone, Katz whispered, "What I fear is losing Courage to that fox."
