How you meet.

You were raging, livid. Looking down at your white shirt that was now stained with beer thanks to the asshole that had thrown his beer across the crowd. Who the fuck does that anyway when it’s such an exorbitant price for a pint?

And the worst thing about it was you saw it happen in slow motion, the guy taking a large swig of the drink before throwing it across the crowd. You were just glad it didn’t hit your braids.

Cutting through the crowd of people you made your way towards him, festival goers seemingly able to tell how irate you were as they parted for you like the Red Sea.

“What the fuck was that, asshole?” You jabbed a manicured hand into the centre of his chest as he stopped laughing long enough to look down at you, his lips curling into a crude smirk when he noticed that your once-white shirt was now practically see-through.

“Shit, I got perfect fucking aim huh?” He wasn’t apologetic in the slightest as he stared down at you with pink eyes full of mischief.

“You owe me a new shirt.”

“Yeah? Well it looks like you owe me a drink, princess.”

“Are you fucking kidding? You’re the one that threw it!”

“Don’t be like that, pretty.” He almost cooed, leaning down so he was eye level to you, “You’d look better without the shirt anyway, I was doing you a favour— cooling you down.”

“You’re lucky it didn’t get in my hair, or you’d be dead right now.”

“Ah shit, I love a woman who talks dirty to me.”

This guy was not fucking serious. You were tempted to pay for a new drink, just to throw it over him in retaliation when the band that you’d really wanted to see came on. Growling in frustration as you tried to let it not ruin your day, even though you were sticky and reeked of beer. Making your way back to your friends as you danced and sang together.

When the act was over Shidou made his way towards you as the crowd was beginning to disperse, a fresh beer in hand.

“Peace offering,” Shidou held it out to you, “Pretty girls shouldn’t be frowning.”

“What? You gonna throw that over me too?” You scoffed.

“As much as it would give me a hard on, no.” He smirked.

“You still owe me a new shirt,” You glared, but you still took the drink out of his hands. Taking a sip of it, the cool liquid a relief in the blistering heat.

“Okay,” He shrugged, the same cocky smirk on his face as he pulled his shirt up and over his head. Exposing his toned chest to the warm sun, nipple piercings glinting as he deliberately flexed— holding the shirt out to you.

“But I still think you look better with your tits out.”

You should’ve been disgusted with yourself really, letting this man pin you against a wall in a secluded corner of the festival even after his crude tongue. Thick digits not even bothering to unbutton your denim shorts as they snuck beneath the crotch, bullying your clit as he pressed searing kisses against your throat. But, if this is what he could do with his fingers, you wondered what he could do with that tongue—

Shidou manages to get your number, and like the pathetic loser in love that he isn’t doesn’t even wait until the next day to call. You end up texting back and forth while you’re in your hotel room that night while he asks what hotel you’re staying in.

Ohhh man, this is a tough one- I see them as pretty evenly matched? I can imagine them all countering each other in different ways, and perhaps having favorable/unfavorable matchups- though I think they're all be close enough in skill that any fight would be a tossup.

Honestly, I kinda want to compare them to a starter trio from pkmn? (or rock paper scissors lmao)

Hector -> Quirin -> Adira maybe?

I feel like Hector's win condition against Quirin would be to outmaneuver and take him down before he runs out of stamina. Quirin is a tank, but also slower and the easiest to outspeed- Hector's aggression and decisiveness benefits him here.

Quirin, in turn, would win a war of attrition against Adira- if Adira didn't engage, he wouldn't burn himself out like Hector would. He can play just as defensively and patiently as she can, and out-endure.

And like we saw in the series, Adira has an excellent balance between strength, defense, and dexterity, and leverages each to her advantage. I'm not sure one member of the brotherhood is objectively the most skilled fighter, but of the three, imo she's probably the most reliable.

If we're talking canon/post-series and not hypothetical matchups, I debate on if Hector or Adira would be stronger. Quirin is obviously rusty, so he's out. Hector is isolated, and not necessarily fighting skilled opponents most of the time- but he probably practices and drills himself religiously. Adira's out in the world, so more likely to encounter trouble and test her skills- but she also might avoid fights because it's safe/practical.

We do see Adira beat Hector in a fight in RatGT, buuut I think that could've gone either way.

14. Do you think the Brotherhood should continue with new members?

Honestly, no! I think the Brotherhood, as it was, needed to come to an end. The secrecy, the demand of loyalty to the point of self-destruction and sacrifice, the legacy of the moonstone and the mindtrap talisman… it's better left in the past. (I also tend to HC that the Brotherhood favored recruiting orphans or children who otherwise had nothing, which is another reason the system would need to change in my mind.)

I think the Brotherhood could definitely reform, possibly under a new name, and become more inclusive/healthy- I really like the HC that in a canon-compliant ending, Hector goes on to be a teacher/mentor for the next gen- but part of rebuilding the DK would be starting that part of it anew.

18. What is a cool headcanon that you liked from someone else?

Xannerz has really cool thoughts on the DK and the Brotherhood!! Hard to pick just one w/ all our chatter, but I really like her headcanon that not everyone left the DK in the evacuation and a small handful of the citizens stayed behind. Ones who were older or sick, and just couldn't make the long journey, or maybe who refused to leave out of love/loyalty to their home- Edmund wouldn't have been completely alone, but it's still bleak and tragic in its own way.

Meechatuck's idea that Quirin is actually quite skilled at picking locks and Mo (rainyday-deer)'s old HC that Hector whittles are also both very cute to me!

How you meet.

You loved this festival, but you hated the lines. Trying to find the smallest one to get any kind of food before heading back towards the main stage for your favourite bands. Trying to weave your way through the thick sea of people to find a partially shady place to rest for a few minutes until a tall, hulking guy ran directly into you beer first—

“You should watch where you’re going, sweetheart.” He grunted, still holding the now empty plastic cup in his hand.

“Are you fucking serious?” It wasn’t enough the fucking asshole had split his beer all down your top, the fries you’d just paid an exorbitant amount for after queueing for the better part of an hour, we’re now scattered all over the grass.

To say you were seething was an understatement.

“Lighten up, it’s Chase Atlantic tonight,” He grinned, and the smug look on his face only made it worse as you were about to explode.

You’d spent ages planning this cute outfit and now you’d have to spend the rest of the day wet, sticky and reeking of beer.

“You’re such a jerk,” You groaned, wishing you could wipe that smug smirk off his face.

“Aww, don’t be like that. Normally girls are happy when I make ‘em wet,” His grin only seemed to get wider, “At least you still look hot.”

You had to walk away before you punched this guy in the face for sheer audacity alone, so you turned to leave but he was quick to block your exit.

“Let me give you my shirt instead,” He offered, “As an apology.”

The word was dripping with sarcasm and it only made your mood worse, but he didn’t look like he was kidding.

“Come on, sweetheart.” He paused, tugging his oversized shirt up and over his head to expose his toned chest to the evening sunshine. His skin glistening in a thin sheen of sweat as you had to stop yourself from drooling— of course this asshole had a reason to be cocky, “I ain’t got all day.”

And you knew deep down part of him thought you wouldn’t take your shirt off in the middle of the festival arena, but you called his bluff when you pulled it over your head. Oliver made no efforts to hide that he was shamelessly ogling your chest as you handed your dirty shirt to him before tugging his Supreme branded shirt over your head.

Of course, he had to dress like a fuckboy but at least you were dry— and you still looked cute.

You were even more surprised when he pulled your shirt over his head with no hesitation, “How do I look?”

“Not as cute as me.”

You went and found a spot of grass to sit down on as you watched one of the artists performing on the stage, keeping an eye on the food truck queues in the hopes of being able to grab something to eat before Chase Atlantic. Until someone flopped to the floor beside you and held out a fresh tray of fries to you.

“I didn’t know what sauce you liked so I got both,” He shrugged, stealing a fry off the cardboard container as he grinned at you while he chewed, “Peace offering?”

Of course it was the asshole from before.

“It’s gonna take more than just fries,” You grumbled, but still took the container as you dipped them into the sauce.

And of course he left with your number in his phone (to get your shirt back obviously, nothing else-)
