I decided to stop posting calories alongside my meals. Again, this stuff is mostly for my own reference to make things easier for myself. Almost like creating a menu for myself to look back on. Anyway, if I post it, it’s somewhere in the range of 350-500. This was lunch- potatoes, peas, and chicken sausage. Yes, I’ve been eating potatoes every day. Because po-tay-toes.

Elladan, elrohir, and legolas are exploring in a forest:
Elladan: hey legolas! Look what we found!
Eleohir: *pulls out a small figurine* who would loose something like this?
Legolas, knowing damn well not to fuck around and find out: Put. It. Back. Put it back. Put it back, or so help me god- i don’t wanna know where you found it, i don’t wanna know how you found it. I want a nice relaxing 2075. I do not want nor need whatever hocus spokus pilatus pas eldritch being bullshit, and you don’t want that either.
Legolas: so put the damn thing back right now or i’ll leave your fate to whatever demonic being you pissed off.
Elrohir and elladan: 🥺😢 ok

I haven’t shown the orcs enough love. Dwarves are weak as shit, humans are fucking ugly, elves are elderitch cannibals, and Hobbits is the apex predator, but what about the orcy orcs?
This is their headcanon post
Orcs don’t fuck. Like not at all. The way they reproduce is like starfish, they drop a limb and then they regrow that limb, but the dropped limb will also regrow a body. Boom. New orc.
So Orcs are a fully asexual community devoid of any traditional family dynamics. They find their own families alright? They’re pack creatures, they don’t like solitude.
That don’t mean they aren’t affectionate as hell tho. They cuddling. They smooching. They playfully biting. Orcs are the ultimate homiesexual specie.

for people being mad about this, that, and the other part of the Silmarillion which Rings of Power has altered, failed to mention, or glazed over in passing -- claiming that they have no respect for the source material, I am begging you to understand copyright laws.
Finrod’s death? Still a cool way to go. Definitely not as cool as wrestling a werewolf with his bare hands but they don’t have the rights to that. That’s in the Silmarillion.
Disa being named Disa? Yes, it’s Dis with an ‘a’ at the end. They don’t have the rights to Dis.
The whole glazed-over kinslaying situation? They don’t have the rights to that either. They literally are not allowed to go into too much detail about it or get specific.
Oh, and all of the details about Elvish hair/aesthetics? That’s all in LaCE. They’re not ignoring it. They don’t have the rights to that either.
And also, I can’t blame them for wanting to separate themselves a little from PJ’s (outstanding) work. PJ was a less than accurate adaption. Especially where the elves are concerned. And it was so utterly white. But his elves are NOT Tolkien’s elves. They’re missing a very distinct joy and sincerity in a strong bid to make them ethereal. And his dwarves are mere comedic relief.
Rings of Power treats Elves and Dwarves much more sincerely, I feel. Their dwarves are so noble and family orientated and smart! They still have some chaos-gremlin vibes but also the culture! the stone-songs! I love them!
And Rings of Power gives us elves who joke with each other and rib each other and elves who feel things so intensely, as Elves canonically do. I never really got that from PJ’s ethereal brooding elves.
Yes, Rings of Power gave us short-haired elves that are much more down-to-earth than we’re used to, but to me they actually feel closer to Tolkien’s work.
I’ve seen so many complaints but so much of what they are ‘changing’ is just down to the fact that there are things the Tolkien estate has told them they’re not allowed to touch. I understand, then, the question of “then why adapt the Silmarillion” and that’s valid. But honestly I’m just begging you to understand that they’re constrained by copyright laws. That means that there are going to be deviations from canon. A lot of them, actually. But it really feels to me like they very much love and care about the source material. They’re not altering it out of disrespect for Tolkien’s work. They’re making judgements about how to tell the same story, with the characters that still feel like themselves, while having to greatly alter or leave out huge chunks of canon events. And yeah, they are squishing the timeline. Like holy shit are they squishing the timeline. But honestly that doesn’t feel like a very big deal to me. Fanfics have made more egregious sins than compacting the entire Second Age into the span of one human lifetime.
It’s a fanfic AU. That’s all it is. And IMO it’s actually a very decent fanfic AU. There is so much love here for Tolkien’s work. Is it the best show I’ve ever seen? No, no it’s not really. But it IS a good fanfic.
(and Robert Aramayo is absolutely killing his role, holy shit).

Since I see a lot of reactions on articles/quotes from the Loki crew and cast, here are some general reminders when it comes to stuff like this;
There are so many people working on a show/movie and everyone make decisions creating the final product we watch. Of course they do a lot of work to unite their visions and make it cohesive, but "contradictions" may still happen. We often talk about the obvious people behind a show, the actors, writers and directors, but there are also costume designers, composers and editors, etc. All of these people can have different perspectives and pull things in different directions, that just sort of comes with the nature of making such a big show.
And then it comes to producing a show itself. Productions are messy. Things get reworked on the spot because what might've worked on the page didn't work in practice, props break and need to be changed, actors can't be in for the day, etc. All of these affect the final products in chaotic ways. Sometimes unpredictable things like this may get in the way of or improve the story.
And finally articles/interviews purpose is to provide this one specific person's perspective and promote the show, or engage fans.
So take these things with a grain of salt. You don't need to base your entire view on the show on statements from cast/crew. Is the line less meaningful because it was improvised? Should we consider an episode to be less canon because it was apparently rewritten a lot from its original state?
Your fan experience will likely be healthier and more fun if you try to mainly engage with the art you have in front of you. If you read quotes from creators and feel frustrated that they are inconsistent with the art - first of all, art is subjective, it just comes with the territory. But my main point of the post is that even if a person is working on the show, it doesn't mean that their view is 100% represented within the text. You don't need to go full Death of the Author here, but you gotta remember there isn't just one author and that author's intent at work here, there is a production, with all that comes with it. And honestly? That's what makes it interesting. All of these visions coming together to create art that we get to take part in, and whatever vision we're getting as a viewer might be something completely unique.

Todays activity took me to the garden. I sowed some more seeds for the fall - radish, lettuce, and carrots for the third time.
Apparently carrots don’t germinate in temps over 80 degrees. I didn’t find that out until after the second attempt.
I’ll probably do a last harvest of my tiny peppers and giant basil this weekend and then take them out and maybe plant something else for the fall.
Oh and I accidentally grew some pumpkins from the ones I chucked out back last year 🎃

#ok we're gonna try to finish this story in under 30 tags ok let's go#SO. 'hahaha yeah wow that's crazy that you know him! we did date yeah. (does not elaborate)'#but. okay confession time. i know this was a questionable choice. it was selfish. it fed the brain gremlin that craves validation#but i never blocked M on snapchat#so even though we never talked. i could see when he viewed my stories. and i won't lie. there is a smug part of me that enjoyed#letting him see me go on about my life.#i am a flawed bitch. so sue me. it was a manageable amount of contact that didn't send me into spirals#and he DID keep viewing them.#he even messaged me once! i don't know maybe a year ago. it was totally out of the blue. 'saw this book and thought of you' on a picture of#a nice edition of The Hobbit. i didn't respond. i had to have a petty moment for all the times during the Bad Era when i tried to message#him and he took too long (in my shitty estimation) to message back. so i left him on read. for like a year#okay you can see where this is going so I'll cut to the chase#'i ran into a friend of yours' is a perfectly reasonable conversation starter. it can be the whole conversation if it needs to be.#well. it wasn't#idk. my world state for the last six years has been 'M doesn't care for me and there is no world in which we ever have a civil chat again.'#well. that doesn't track with 'it's past my bedtime but i don't mind staying up to chat' and 'i would love to get an earful about podcasts'#and 'let's chat again' and 'it was really great to hear from you'#idk. i don't know what emotion i should feel. anger is gonna be the first one that makes it to the surface i think#got a good healthy dose of anger happening#grief. i do think there's some grief. mmhmm yep there it is#there are probably some positive emotions but those are the most strenuously repressed and i don't think I'm ready to let the collar off#i have made a lot of choices in the last six years to protect my mental health specifically because of how that relationship ended#so even just talking to him is. well for one thing it's playing a bit fast and loose with the health i have managed to build up#i feel good. my life has been good lately. my therapist moved me from monthly to once every three months. my social life is the most#thriving it's ever been#i am possibly in a place to unbox some things that were thrown in the attic as an emergency measure#i should talk to my therapist

I had a breakfast victory this morning!
I’m experimenting with healthy smoothies now that I can’t eat oats any more.
Winning combo -
Banana
Mixed frozen dark berries
Raw cauliflower
Frozen silverbeet
Full cream milk
HalzelNOT choc spread
I have been desperate to find a way to make the spread taste less-than-awful and apparently burying it in berries is the way to go!

I just want to say to my fellow female Tolkien fans that we should not feel ashamed for loving these books that are admittedly male-centric.
It’s tempting to call Tolkien a sexist for including so few female characters in his legendarium, but we must remember that the women he did include are the epitome of girl power and some of the best role models we could ask for: strong and willful and noble and brave, without sacrificing their femininity to prove themselves.
It’s glorious to me how you can flip through the books and see page after page of men doing everything … and then suddenly:
There’s Varda creating the Stars, Sun, and Moon!!
There’s Yavanna saving her trees by inspiring the creation of the Ents!!
There’s Melian making an Elf king forget his own people and then shielding an entire kingdom!!
There’s Lúthien defeating Sauron himself AND Morgoth himself!!!
There’s Idril preventing the complete annihilation of her people by creating the secret path out of Gondolin!!
There’s Galadriel resisting the One Ring!!
There’s Éowyn killing the lord of the Nazgûl!!
There’s Ioreth saving the victims of the Black Breath through her knowledge that the king will be the healer!!
There’s Arwen bridging the gap between Elves and Men as Queen of Gondor!!
There’s 100-year-old Lobelia beating Ruffians with her umbrella and leaving money in her will to help homeless hobbits!!
There’s Rosie raising 13 kids while simultaneously serving the whole Shire as Mistress of Bag End!!
There’s Elanor guarding and preserving the Red Book so that we can read it now!!!
That’s why I just can’t hold too big of a grudge about this. Yes, Tolkien didn’t write female characters too often, and it would’ve been fantastic if there were more. But when he did write them, they were amazing.
And on top of that, his male characters display literally our dream level of healthy masculinity in a man. Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, Faramir, etc. are our wish fulfillment. We have every right to enjoy that.
