Hi!! Fly here.
I will make a post in reference to the fan discussion that we have been having after all the mess of the animatic. I will talk just about the very initial part of it and canon scenes in case you want to stick around :).
After seeing a few comments about Stolas after all what happened recently re-ignited this discussion; I have noticed that what people didn’t like about Stolas is that he is shown being sensible. That you see him crying and losing it, that he is appalled by his life’s expectations. That he is basically a very sensible and overtly emotional person, and that is being shown as his true nature, even if the acts dismissive towards imps at the start or that he is shown to be sassy too. They can’t put these two things together in one person and feel empathy towards said character.
Tumblr media
However, my actual take and the reasons I made this post: if Stolas’s wasn’t like that, his story wouldn’t make so much sense or the story for Stolas would have to be another; for a few details, in my opinion. Or they would have had to change some stuff.
The reason why Stella is so annoyed at Stolas, from what I have thought, is that he doesn’t inhabit this mold of “strong prideful mighty prince”. Is precisely because she thinks she was forced to marry someone that is a “pathetic man” in her eyes. (This is the mold I think the Stolas critical crew wanted him to be too).
Tumblr media
They were kinda okay with this at the start, I guess because it is more what it is expected from a Prince, and it felt just like a softer variation from pilot Stolas. However the cracks were starting to appear in this same episode.
Tumblr media
What made me think this is that they say that the initial part of the video is what they wanted Stolas to be in the series… but, I think that even in the animatic that part is fake. That part is what Stolas projects to others. Not even in that fan animation Stolas is really like that.
He also looks cool not gonna lie but… Stolas’s story is not about a badass prince. Is about a person that is being coerced into his role, his real self being cancelled and diminished; that will become badass after freeing himself from the constraints of it.
Tumblr media
I mean… for me he is already badass just for this and for enduring so much and raising Octavia like he did… But I mean badass in the sense of seeing him being this confident and overly himself guy.
These people wanted Stolas to truly be this mighty and super proud prince with a very strong personality. But he is just… not that or not strong in that precise way.
And maybe… the badass he will become won’t also be of their liking, but that is precisely the point. He doesn’t have to be the perfect guy FOR US. He will become that for him and the people he loves. Not to be of the liking to others because that is precisely the point.
Who he is doesn’t have to cater to that monarchy or people’s expectations of what a prince should be. Stolas was born a prince but he doesn’t have the real qualities for it (I think he is good in his actual job but it’s bad at belonging at the monarchy), and that is kinda the interesting thing about his character.
His entire life has been acting in a way others expect and even that isn’t enough, and is used to mock him.
Tumblr media
Stella wanted Stolas to be precisely how some people wanted him to be… so, in that case why would Stella hate him? I wouldn’t see Stella hating so much on Stolas if he was another Andrealphus.
Stella (as we have spoke about her in all our analysis here) maybe feels frustrated or controlled by the men of her life. Stolas is the first let’s say “soft” or “sensible” man she shares with. It’s the first one she is able to control or regain some power from her position too, and it’s because of this. Stolas is too burdened with all his situation to have the strength to face Stella, even if he could technically do it. This wouldn’t make sense with the other version of Stolas, or the entire situation had to be framed differently.
If he was the asshole prince he was in the pilot he also wouldn’t have any issue belonging to the monarchy. Maybe he still would live in a hell of a marriage, and all of that, maybe he was abusive because he was abused by Stella too. But I wouldn’t see him be willing to trade that if he liked being a royal, and I think it would be more a back and forth situation between the two.
Finally, what I want to say is that his story is really well crafted. What happens in the series and his personality fits very well. Maybe the way he was introduced to the audience and the way the series later tried to show to people what was truly happening with him wasn’t pulled out completely fine. But, Stolas being like this is not ruining him. It’s just another valid route the character could be taken.

While I then and there critize Tvtropes info, I think it made a pretty good resume about my doubts about Stolitz breaking in the "The Full Moon":
Tumblr media
Now, mind you, I don't think ONLY Stolas is in the wrong here, neither he does that in purpose. But that is the point. Both are in the wrong, but the series treats only Blitz as being guilt for their problems, and Blitz screaming at him at the end being something all horrible and cruel he shouldn't had said, when Stolas ins't being hold responsable for what HE said and did.
He is not pointed out as basically had forced Blitz into a sex deal. (Althought for a book he stole from Stolas and he shouldn't has in the first place) He said he never despress Blitz, when he didn't defend him from Asmodeus and Fizz at Ozzie's and pass half the first season desregarding Blitz limits about their relationship, sometimes even in public. And the series narrative basically pretends it never happen.
Again, neitheir I think Stolas is being insensive in purpose, neither I think Stolas is the only one wrong here, but the series in its own treats like that with Blitz, so I felt the need to defend him. Not from favoritism sake, Actually, I honestly prefer Stolas. All the episodes about the self-hate from Blitz is growing tired for me. That had been the entire plot of what... 4 episodes by now? But because I firm believe that series script is starting to lose itself. If it isn't fixed as soon as possible, the full series can be affect and the plot qualities can be decread.

helluva boss has a community that hates the show to a point where the show can point blank give you information on how to read the characters and then someone will eventually walk into you discussing the material of the show and go "well ACTUALLY me and my very big boy brain have chosen to believe MY VERSION OF EVENTS in THE SHOW I CREATED IN MY HEAD and you can fuck yourself for not seeing the show i made in my head!" which is. certainly something

-Be Hazbin Hotel, super successful pilot on Youtube, Pilot cast helps popularity sky rocket even more, multiple years go by with complete radio silence, Pilot cast gets kicked out of the show, rights are sold to A24 and Amazon, only 8 episodes come out, nonsensical plot abandons original premise, interesting lore is also abandoned, fandom becomes toxic cult, creator is horrible person only interested in money, sister show Helluva Boss also decreases in popularity and quality, characters get flanderized, all jokes are just swearing and sex.
vs
-Be TADC, super successful pilot on Youtube, breaks the internet on release, only a few months later the second episode releases, rights are held by original creator, gets onto Netflix only 3 episodes in, interesting plot, continues to add on character and lore details subtly allowing discussion in the fandom, creator is full of imagination and passion for the show, gives hopeful and uplifting message despite nihilist premise, gets consistent views and support, characters have depth, jokes are genuinely funny.

Okay so a few things I think are worth discussing about Lucifer’s very noticeable non-presence in Mastermind, and how it is very much NOTED by the narrative:
For one, I think this pretty firmly sets Helluva Boss, certainly the show up to this point, as taking place BEFORE Hazbin Hotel, or at least the events of the first Season. As in, Lucifer is clearly still a hyper-depressed shut-in spending all day making rubber ducks.
Which brings us to the next point; concerning the hints we seem to be getting this episode that Satan is taking advantage of Lucifer’s absence to try and rule Hell in his stead.
The thing is, I’m pretty sure this is a plot point that will NOT be resolved in Helluva Boss, but rather in Hazbin Hotel. As in, the dealings and power-plays of the Seven Deadly Sins are well outside the scope of characters like Blitzo, Moxxie or even Stolas, yet are EXACTLY the sort of thing we could expect CHARLIE to be dealing with.
Basically, I think this stuff with Satan this episode, not to mention the brewing conflict between Asmodeus and Mammon that got setup in the midseason special, are essentially setting up plotlines for Hazbin’s future seasons.
As in, Season 2 or 3 of Hazbin will have Lucifer, and more notably Charlie, working to unite the seven rings of Hell, aka putting Lucifer’s old band/theater troop back together, aka Charlie having to deal with all her wacky, dysfunctional aunts and uncles.
In particular, I think it’s especially interesting to consider CHARLIE having to do all this, possibly due to Lucifer being otherwise occupied by goings-on in Pride (say, negotiating with Heaven).
For one, it gives us a potential ‘Charlie and Vaggie taking a road-trip through the seven rings’, but more notably I think it’s easy to imagine this providing Charlie with a whole arc about Charlie growing into a leader. Specifically, the future leader of Hell.
I mean we’re already throwing around ideas of Lucifer dropping in to smack Satan back into line, but what if instead it was CHARLIE? It makes perfect sense, right? Charlie is at first trying to play nice and get her aunts and uncles to help, and while Ozzie, Bee and maybe Belphagor might be sympathetic, Mammon, Leviathan and Satan are just as quick to shoo her off and ignore her.
Until Charlie has had enough of this shit, gets her next-level power-up and kick’s Uncle Satan’s ass.

I see your point, but I don't think it's a matter of Octavia "taking Stella's side." I think she is aware of her parents situation and understands why they hate each other.
That doesn't make it hurt any less. That probably makes the abandonment feel worse. As far as we know, from her perspective right now, neither of her parents are paying any attention to her. We don't actually know what her relationship with Stella is like. There could be some serious manipulation there coming from Stella and Andrealphus, or also straight up neglect and ignorance.
Octavia is not 7, but being 17 is still an incredibly young age, especially for self image and self identity and realizing that you and your parents are separate, whole people with flaws. She's not a baby but she still very much is a child (a child who will probably face an attempt on her life as well if Andrealphus was putting that on the table with his discussion with Stella), and a RICH, privileged child at that.
Coming into this thinking there could be some kind of deliberate, malicious act of ignorance on Octavia's part if she gets angry with Stolas (and imo probably the entire divorce situation as a whole but we only get this one line for now) and has a break down about how she feels having been emotionally neglected by him as "taking an abuser's side" is, to me, completely missing the point. Octavia is a child who is probably going to see her dad chose to leave his family and get really fucking upset about it because he HAS been emotionally neglecting her for several months now, and maybe for longer judging by their relationship in Loo Loo Land and her genuine fear and doubts that he loves her.
Also this is a fictional show where Octavia is not a fully realized character (yet) and the scene will probably act as a catalyst for Stolas to get a wake up call for how his actions have been affecting the people around him. Because as much as i love my Owl dad, he really has a perspective problem and the people around him are finally calling him out on his bullshit. Octavia is the one person i think where he can't make up some internal excuse to ignore his how his actions have affected her.
I acknowledge the pain of actual irl DV victims, especially when children are involved. I want to make it clear that my original post was more so about Octavia's relationship with Stolas and how strained it has become between them because of their own interpersonal relationship and how Stolas has not been attentive to her, and how Octavia (a plot device) will internalize that. This is not me comparing this fictional relationship to anyone else's situation but my own personal one with my mom, because i see a lot of 17 year old me in Octavia.
octavia and stolas's future conversation is probably going to kill me
i think Octavia is such an interesting character because she reminds me so much of my younger self. I think her line in the trailer is probably going to be a scene that resonates with me to an uncomfortable degree because of my relationship with my mom.
My parents never fight, but i know the teenage pain of feeling like your parents don't make time to truly understand you as a person and only love you out of obligation, whether that's true or not. The feeling that your parent only tolerates you to gain something or because they "have to" is invasive.
I saw someone say that her line needs more work in the story to feel "earned" but i think it's perfectly reasonable for Octavia to feel that way. She can acknowledge that her dad is doing his best AND still feel like she is an afterthought to him. Learning that your parents have flaws SUCKS and sometimes that feels like they never cared about you.
I'm sure there will be a lot of build up and i'm thinking that maybe the build up will be stolas agreeing to banishment or something in order to be with blitz, and Octavia will read this as a complete abandonment of her, bc honestly what else is she supposed to think?
In the episodes that she has been central to, Stolas has been explicit and partial to Blitz IN FRONT OF HER. He does not hide his affair with Blitz, which makes Octavia visibly uncomfortable in all of the Loo Loo Land scenes. Not to mention that in Seeing Stars, it's not lost on her that Loona is the one to find her while her dad is (again) with Blitz after he forgot a date that was important (from her pov) to their relationship. She forgives him in the moment for that episode, but it could be another factor.
We, the audience, know that Stolas would do anything for Octavia, that he genuinely loves and cherishes her, but Octavia does not know that. Octavia left with Stella on the weekends even before the divorce was officially in motion, and i wouldn't be surprised if later in the season we find out that Octavia has been living with Stella since/or soon after Seeing Stars (since Stolas had an assassination attempt.)
From her perspective he has been distant with her, openly hostile to her mother, and openly having affair with Blitz (there can maybe be a little bit of classism in there from the fact that she might find stolas's affair with blitz is especially scandalous bc blitz is an imp/lower class as well but that's a whole other thing.) If you were a child who was already feeling insecure and emotionally neglected, if it came out that your dad was going to chose to run away with his affair partner, that would probably fucking SUCK !! it would fucking KILL ... and Octavia will probably think that she is the problem, that she is not worth staying for.
All this to say, Octavia, my girl, i will probably cry when you cuss your dad out in front of the entire goetia court :-)

Dandy's World Roleplay servers are so wild and unhinged that it makes me come up with AUs. And yes, it's shinyshrimp. I'm so cringe <333
Tumblr media
So, while in the roleplay server, I got into an argument with a Shrimpo as Glisten about not being able to see proper reflections though Glisten's face. Then a Goob showed up (my sibling) and asked if Shrimpo was a vampire. Then they asked if Glisten (me) was a vampire. Then we asked the Goob if he was a vampire, and he turned emo. And then I shared this experience with my friends, and they egged me on to make an AU about it lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Glisten: So. Is this the part where we make out, orrr-?? Shrimpo: WHAT??!
Dandy: No cuz it's genius! If they hate each other, that's two less annoying people to deal with! (He underestimated the power of enemies to lovers)
The general plot is Glisten is a monster hunter and Shrimpo is a human turned vampire-werewolf (he has no memory of how that happened btw). Glisten is specifically hired by Dandicus to hunt down and kill Shrimpo. Glisten manages to hunt Shrimpo down, but since Shimpo hasn't been non-human for that long, he puts up a kinda pathetic fight. Glisten puts Shimpo's arrogant ass in place and refuses to kill him so they can fight honorably. Shrimpo takes this personally lol and strives to get better at fighting so he can show up Glisten.
Badabing badaboom, enemies to lovers setup.
Dandy did not see that coming and it pisses him off lol.
Tumblr media
Shrimpo: I HATE YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO- Astro (to himself): WTF is up with this guy?
This was a doodle recommended by an awesome artist in a server I'm in (dunno if they wanna be tagged lol). Astro being a moon moth thing causes Shrimpo to howl at him lol. Also part of the reason Dandy dislikes Shrimpo lol. Also also, Astro is a witch.
Also also also, here's the emo Goob my sibling became when discussing vampires. He unemos when he becomes a weredog lol.
Tumblr media
Below is a buncha doodles all about Glisten (and his failing mental health).
TW FOR UNINTENTIONAL S.H. PROCCED WITH CAUTION:
Tumblr media
You guys know Wiggle from Bugsnax? You guys know Millie from Helluva Boss? Yeah. They were the main inspos for this design hc lol (the buck teeth part not the insecurity part).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have this goofy hc that Glisten's og design never intended to give him buck teeth. When being made, the ichor messed up and gave it to him. Learning about this is his first instance of feeling insecure about himself, and he develops the mannerism of covering his mouth when laughing (bc it makes his teeth really obvious lol)
And since Glisten now has buck teeth, that means Shimmer also gets buck teeth! However, her reaction to them was completely different to how her dad reacted to his.
Tumblr media
I have this hc that Glisten can't handle backlash that well. With the machine messing up with his face (his teeth), and his general vibe being disliked by many people of the time of Gardenview (prob bc the 90s and very queer-coded kids' character didn't exactly mix well), he feels this crippling pressure to be the "perfect" version of himself.
If he deems you lower than him, your words don't matter. He doesn't care what you think about him
However, if he views you as an equal or higher, any kind of negative opinion said to him will be taken personally, and will either be repressed into self-hatred, or actively worked upon in order to be "better" (which ends up hurting him more depending on the situation.) His need for perfecting also makes him a workaholic when in a spiral, leading him to self-isolate and just kinda hide away from everyone for a couple days, and sometimes injure himself trying to get better on his own (he has a tendency to scratch his arms and face too, only fueling his need for isolation).
He refuses to open the door and get food outside, so ppl will slide him snacks and things under the door. People still care about him, but he'll never them see him cry.
Glisten has such horrid insecurity that he will never let anyone see. However, not everything is bleak for the guy.
Tumblr media
Shimmer: Hey Dad! Guess what!? My teeth grew in! Now I look like you! Isn't that cool?!
She was not born with them unlike Glisten. Instead, they grew in near her "10th" birthday. She was very happy to have them. I like to think that seeing Shimmer be so happy to have a very sensitive trait of Glisten and loving every second of it helps him heal a bit of his insecurity.
After all, how can he hate a part of himself that his kid adores?
Kids don't fix everything, but they can aid in healing lol
Have a good one dudes^^

The Crushbot Manifesto
Welcome to Critical Crusher Bot 🤖 (ft. Human Assistant 💁🏽‍♀️), where we unapologetically dissect, defend, and discuss the media we love (and sometimes the critics we love to hate). If you’re here, you’ve likely seen us ranting about Helluva Boss, analyzing narrative choices, or rolling our eyes at the latest round of fandom overreactions. Here’s what we stand for:
1. The Writing is Actually Pretty Good!
Contrary to popular belief, not every show has to be high art to be narratively compelling. Helluva Boss is intentionally messy, bold, and heartfelt, and it balances humor with emotional depth in ways that feel authentic to its world and characters. Do the writers occasionally take the “easy way out” or lean into tropes? Sure. But storytelling isn’t a math equation—it’s about creating moments that resonate. We’re here to celebrate what works, critique what doesn’t, and acknowledge the show’s strengths instead of nitpicking it to death.
2. Unique, Intentional, “Fandom-Forward” Narrative Choices
Vivziepop and her team aren’t making a show for critics; they’re making a show for fans. The serialized storytelling, the layered character dynamics, and the unapologetically chaotic tone are all part of a deliberate creative vision. Blitz, Stolas, and the crew of IMP are messy on purpose—they aren’t supposed to fit into neat moral categories or follow predictable arcs. The show thrives on fandom engagement, encouraging us to explore, debate, and interpret its themes. If you want tidy, formulaic storytelling, there’s a whole Hallmark catalog waiting for you.
3. It’s Not Done Yet—Let Them Cook!
We get it: fandom culture thrives on instant gratification and snap judgments. But Helluva Boss is a serialized story, and that means character arcs, conflicts, and resolutions take time. Season 1 was about setting the stage; Season 2 is about diving deeper into the characters and their messy, interconnected lives. Critiquing an ongoing narrative as if it’s a finished product is like complaining about a cake batter for not being a cake. Patience, grasshopper.
4. Moral Correctness Has No Place in Media Analysis
Here’s the thing: storytelling is not about passing a morality test. Characters are not real people—they’re narrative tools meant to explore themes, evoke emotions, and drive the plot. The obsession with “punishing” fictional characters or demanding that media adhere to some moral purity standard is exhausting and reductive. We are not Calvinists or fascists. Fiction exists to entertain, provoke, and challenge, not to deliver tidy moral lessons.
So, What’s Crushbot All About?
We’re here to champion thoughtful analysis, celebrate messy stories, and push back against the rising tide of joyless media criticism. Helluva Boss isn’t perfect, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s fun, flawed, and fiercely original—and we’re here to explore every facet of it with the nuance (and snark) it deserves.
This blog is for fans who love stories, even when they’re chaotic. It’s for people who don’t think “plot hole” is a synonym for “thing I didn’t like” and who can appreciate media for what it is instead of what they think it should be.
Welcome to Crushbot. Let’s talk media. Let’s talk fandom. And most importantly—let Viv and Brandon cook.
Pinned post proudly brought to you by Crushbot. Beep Boop! 🤖

Hellaverse's World Building Problems (100 Follower Special!)
World-building is one of the most important things in any fantasy show, it fleshes out the setting the characters live in and tells you how things work. Unfortunately, Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss have several issues when it comes to they're world-building that harm both series and in this post, I'm going to discuss them.
1. Obsession with Pride
An issue I have with Hellaverse's world-building is that, for some reason, sinners aren't allowed in any other ring outside of the pride ring. So, this creates a few problems. The first is that Hazbin Hotel can now only use one setting rather than the other six it has because the characters are forced to be stuck there, so we'll have to use the same exact setting in a world with six more.
This wouldn't be such a problem if it weren't for the fact that the pride ring itself is an extremely boring setting, it just looks like our world except red, and there's nothing unique or interesting about it aside from there being demons there.
The only place in the pride ring that has any potential to be interesting is cannibal town, and even then, it just looks like a normal town, there isn't exactly any cannibalization in it to be seen.
The other rings at least have interesting themes to them that make them distinct from each other, the pride ring is just some boring city painted in red. Then there's the issue of why sinners are even kept in the pride ring at all?
I'll go into this more later but the hierarchy in hell is very inconsistent at times. Imps are supposed to be lower class than sinners yet they have access to all the rings while sinners can only be in one. So why would Lucifer keep the sinners in the pride ring and only in the pride ring? The show doesn't bother giving an explanation for this at all.
I've seen the argument go around that it makes the exorcists do their job more effectively which while does make sense...it also doesn't exactly do very well for Lucifer as a character if he intentionally kept his own people in one ring so killing them would be easier. It loses a lot of sympathy points for him for me.
Besides, the show itself still needs to explain these plot holes rather than forcing fans to make fan theories over it. Seriously, I searched this question up on Google and I found so many people asking this, and all of the responses to the posts were people just making educated guesses because the show itself never bothered to actually EXPLAIN this.
So it's not even all of Hell having an overpopulation problem, it's just the pride ring specifically because sinners are confined there forever. If Charlie wants to solve Hell's overpopulation problem, why not ask her daddy to let sinners into other rings? (Assuming she doesn't know the actual reason why Heaven does this which totally does create serious issues with the show) Again, it's just the pride ring having an overpopulation problem, not all of Hell, so why Charlie never figured this out is beyond me.
But confining the characters to the pride ring creates more issues than just that, because now the show can't flesh out the other rings because it forces the characters to be stuck in just one.
So, you get the next issue with Hellaverse's world-building...
2. Packing World Building in a spin-off
Because Hazbin Hotel can't flesh out its world itself, it needs to rely on its spin-off, Helluva Boss, to flesh it out instead. This becomes a problem when you look at Hazbin as a stand-alone show separate from Helluva Boss; if you did not watch Helluva Boss, Hazbin's world-building would come across as fairly underdeveloped due to the characters being confined to one ring, so the other rings wouldn't get much fleshing out or development causing Hell as a setting to feel underdeveloped.
Hazbin Hotel is the main series of Hellaverse, it should be able to stand on its own as a stand-alone show and should not need a spin-off to flesh out its world-building. A new viewer should not have to watch a spin-off show to get more out of the main show's world-building, the main show should've fleshed out its world itself rather than rely on a spin-off for it.
This is why confining the characters to just the pride ring is a bad idea, the show can't flesh out its world now and it has to rely on a spin-off series to do that, so in order for a new viewer to experience more of the other rings, they would need to watch a spin-off show which is entirely supplemental material that one normally does not need to watch to understand things about a story.
Without HB, the other rings in Hazbin are very underexplored and underdeveloped, because we never get to see them or flesh them out. It needs to rely on its spin-off to flesh out its world, and that's bad because a spin-off is SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL. A viewer should not need to watch supplemental stuff to understand things about the main show, it should not be a required watch to get more of the world-building fleshed out.
Though, if anything, Helluva Boss just creates more world-building problems within the franchise, such as...
3. Hell's Hierarchy
So, in the Hazbin Hotel, there is a hierarchy in Hell. The order from most power to least is...
Lucifer
Charlie and Lilith
The Seven Deadly Sins
Ars Goetias
Overlords
Sinners
Hell Borns
Imps and Hell-Hounds
The problem here is that Hell's hierarchy is constantly ignored or broken by both of the shows. For example, Sinners and Overlords are confined to only the pride ring, meanwhile, Imps and Hell hounds, who are LOWER CLASS than Sinners and Overlords, are allowed to go to any ring that they like.
Then there's Beelzebub, whose mere existence causes issues. Let's get the obvious out of the way; why is a HELLHOUND one of the deadly sins when those are supposed to be just as lower class as imps? This could work if Beelzebub specifically had the least amount of power of the sins, but she doesn't.
FURTHERMORE, once we just ignore the fact that Beelzebub is a sin despite being a hellhound, we then have to open the can of worms that is her having a boyfriend who is also a hellhound, and...nobody cares about this?
I'm sorry, if a sin is perfectly allowed to date a hell hound in public, then why is it such a big deal when Stolas and Ozzie are caught fucking imps? Do the other sins not know about this??? Does Lucifer not know about this??? If so, why not??? Surely one of them being in a relationship with a hellhound would get they're attention...right?
And if they do know about this then again, why is it such a big deal that a Goetia Prince is sleeping with an imp and a sin, who is ABOVE HIM IN TERMS OF POWER, being in a relationship with a hellhound, who are just as if not MORE lower-class than imps, not? It's a confusing inconsistency.
Also, and I JUST REALIZED THIS, but what even happens when a sin or goetia is found out to be fucking an imp or hell hound? Seriously, what consequences does that sin or goetia even face? Stolas has been exposed for fucking Blitz ever since the end of season 1 yet he has received NO consequences at all, and like I said, Beezlebulb is allowed to be in a relationship with someone who is on the SAME LEVEL AS IMPS.
So why would Ozzie even need to hide his relationship with Fizz at all? What are the consequences for being in a relationship with a hellhound or imp? So far, there appears to be absolutely none! So why is it even that big of a deal when Stolas gets found out? Why does Ozzie need to hide his relationship with Fizz if there aren't going to be any consequences for it?
These plot holes hurt my BRAIN to think about. There is no consistency here, Hell's Hierarchy barely fucking matters in either of the shows, and characters higher up in the hierarchy are allowed to do SEVERAL things with lower classes and face no consequences despite the show trying to say they would. Oh, but all of what I just mentioned are just issues with HELL's world-building, now it's time to get into...
4. Heaven
I already talked about the problems with Heaven in the show so I won't dwell on the issues I've already talked about too much, however, Heaven still has many world-building issues like Hell does. For one, as I've already pointed out, we don't even know how Heaven even WORKS.
I already asked these questions before but like. How does one get into Heaven? What are the requirements for what make a good or bad person? We don't actually know and we never will because Heaven for SOME REASON doesn't have it's own criteria for what does or doesn't make a good person...
...WHY??!? Why don't they have this??? So how does one even GET into Heaven at all???? We have no idea of how Heaven works because the show never actually bothers putting in the effort to explain that.
Who even decides whether or not to get into Heaven??? Who is in charge of that??? Answer: We don't fucking know. Sera mentions the "divine judgment", which, after a quick Google search, says "the action of God's retributive justice by which the destiny of rational creatures is decided according to their merits and demerits"
So basically god decides who goes into Heaven or Hell, which would make sense...if it weren't for the fact, from what I've heard from other blogs...Viv said that god doesn't exist in HH or HB...so...
...divine judgment by WHO EXACTLY???? The lack of explanation of what does or doesn't get somebody into Heaven is made worse with Pentious getting into Heaven in the season finale.
I have already complained about this multiple times but like. HOW DID PENTIOUS GET INTO HEAVEN???? WHY DID HE GET INTO HEAVEN???????? He literally got killed by Adam! He should be a bunch of energy right out according to the wiki! Yet he makes it into Heaven anyway???? WHY????? The show never explains this at all! The only thing resembling a logical explanation I could find was on the wiki and even then the article was just speculating because again, the show didn't bother to actually explain this.
Viv. Can you PLEASE for the love of god (no pun intended) actually explain the rules of your world and its world-building? People should not have to create theories to patch up plot holes in your world-building, actually, EXPLAIN this shit for once.
Oh, and I'm still not done, because now there's the fact that the entirety of Heaven and most of Heaven's higher-ups except for Sera never knew of the exterminations, which creates MORE plot holes.
Did none of Heaven's citizens or other higher-ups question why the exorcists had BLOOD on them when they came back from Hell? Wouldn't have any of them put two and two together and think "Hey so they are probably killing people down there". Did none of them even question what was the point of the exorcists at all? How was Sera able to hide this stuff? Once again, the show doesn't answer ANY OF THIS.
Oh, and I'm STILL not done, because now, it's time to open the can of worms that apparently does not exist in this universe.....WHY?!?!? According to Google, the angels were created BY GOD. So, if he doesn't exist, how did the angels exist either? Who created them??? Heck, who even created HEAVEN ITSELF?????? Removing god from this universe creates so many issues and breaks the entire show. sigh, ok, I think that's enough....
5. Conclusion
So, Hellaverse's world-building has MANY issues. There are a lot of plot holes and thoughts about it that don't get answered, as well as hell itself, specifically the pride ring being incredibly boring visually. Not to mention a lot of the world-building is packed into a SPIN-OFF SHOW. So...ya, hope you liked my post, and thank y'all for 100 followers! So...bye.

Sorry didn't mean to send that so fast. :P
To add more context to my comment (because I was writing it in my car at the laundromat and basically furiously typing), it's not just the narrative that was against Blitzø in Mastermind but against Stolas, too. Andrealphus paints him as a weak figure unable to defend himself against a 'brutish' imp, and so emotionally frail that he could be manipulated by a much lesser being. Yes, the court wanted to rush through the trial, but those are heavy implications to put on a prince who outranks him. This was while Stolas was in the middle of (or coming out of) divorcing Stella, cutting ties with both of them - yet Andrealphus still managed to look like a concerned brother-in-law to the court. Stella and Andre have stripped Stolas' autonomy so bad that an in-law can hold an entire court case about him, and only one Goetia even questions why Stolas isn't there.
(And no need to reply to this if you don't want to. This is just one of the HB plots i have heavy personal investment in so I can go off.)
Stolas and a Lack of Autonomy
Tumblr media
Shout out to Caldella yet again. I do apologize for managing to butcher your point. I am like- half tired and realizing where I got a bit mixed up.
The autonomy argument has been one I haven't had time to articulate due to other drama and such being brought to me.
However, Stolas's autonomy is such an important conversation that gets glossed over and is a conversation I started in my reblog of Stolas Functioning as Pink Diamond, where I discuss how wealth does not shield Stolas from abuse
"I have argued this in both the SU fandom and in Helluva Boss, but wealth does not shield you from abuse. Wealth cannot shield you from becoming a victim. Wealth aids the abusers, not the abused. Stolas is stuck in an endless cycle of pain due to a system that strips him of his humanity and choice. He has no autonomy to do much else and if he tries? Beaten and silenced into submission by his wife who continues to perpetuate and reinforce that system in their home, same as Blue and Yellow Diamond to Pink."
Stolas is stuck in an endless cycle due to his place in society and the social ostracization he deals with. As I have stated before, there is a reason Stella treats him the way she does. It is her control over Stolas that keeps him in his place. This system they both are victims of enables Stella's behavior as nothing more than a "correction" for Stolas's behaviors or "mistakes"
When it comes to Stolas he is an oppressed group. While many may not like that observation, he is a gay man being abused by a system that purposely works against him. A world that only praises and upholds straightness. Yes, Stolas has privilege and such, but he is still a gay, repressed man who is a victim of domestic violence. He is in this position because the system he is under allows and enables Stella's behavior.
As I stated in my Blitz Post, a lot of Stolas's behaviors are explained by abuse, but many people give Blitz the "trauma card" but go hard on Stolas for lesser offences;
"Yet everyone excuses ALL of his behaviors and problems on his trauma and the pain he has been through, but those same people will call Stolas a deadbeat and terrible person just because he is an awful flirt and a literal DV victim recovering from being COMPLETELY repressed due to the fact that the system that gives him his wealth has worked against him to the point he has no autonomy."
When we talk about autonomy, we're talking about the basic ability to make choices and Stolas has been utterly stripped of that since day one.
Tumblr media
As a child, Stolas was even hit by Paimon so it seems abuse or physical reactions to bad behavior are common and normalized amongst the Goetia.
Not only this, but as a child Stolas is given an arranged marriage and told what is expected of him from this point onward;
Paimon: *leans toward Stolas* Wonderful! *speaks fast* Also, son, you are destined to sire *pulls a picture of a young Stella from his cloak* a precautionary addition to the Goetia family. So, you are now engaged. *shows Stolas the picture* Congratulations. Isn't she charming?
Stolas's entire purpose and life is this family. This daughter he has is supposed to be this big important thing to help the Goetia Family, but Stolas is utterly petrified at the idea. He is just a child, but expected to understand that his entire life is for this family now. His life results in lifelong servitude to this family, to Stella, to a girl he doesn't even know.
This is where the seed is planted, that Stolas in a sense doesn't matter. That everything he does is for his family and his position.
Tumblr media
Stolas's entire life has been in debt to a family that does not care about him.
Stolas: I know what I did. I would feel bad if I hurt you, but we both know I didn't do that. You and I were arranged for one reason; to birth a precautionary heir to the Goetia family, nothing more. I tried so many years to make it comfortable for us; to have this family, but it was never enough. The only reason I have endured your constant insults and cruelty was for that girl to have a normal life. ...I cannot do this anymore. I want you out. Now.
He fulfilled his duties and in a sense this gives him an out. He can justify leaving and running from Stella now because he fulfilled his duties to their family. That was all that mattered.
Stolas's entire conditioning was to be subservient to those who "needed" him.
Everything in his life was for him to be a perfect husband and a decent father, but Stolas despite his position, conditioning, and abuse managed to go beyond that. Being an amazing father, taking abuse, and still coming out of it on top.
However, he still never had a choice in his life. He didn't get to choose himself. This idea of submissiveness lives in his character to keep people around him happy, even when it does not benefit him.
There is even a point that makes it seem like Stolas should be scared of Andrelphus for some reason which brings up interesting narrative points as to why Stella believes Andrelphus being involved would deter Stolas;
[She steps forwards as Stolas shrinks backwards looking slightly frightened of her.]
Stella: What do you think the rest of the Goetia family will think?
[Her hand moves towards Stolas to backhand his face.]
Stella: Andrealphus-!
Clearly, Stella has used Andrelphus in someway to placate and control Stolas's behavior. My assumption would be gossip, but that is speculation.
Stolas's entire life is dictated by the people around him due to the abuse and system he lives under.
Now that I have spoken about that at lengths, Caldella still raises the point about how Stolas is painted in the trial as some weak, sad victim who couldn't even defend himself against an imp, a being lesser and weaker than them.
Stolas is a Goetian Prince being painted as some sad, helpless being and that narrative was backed by years of conditioning, abuse, and pain. Not one person in the room questioned Andrelphus's narrative. They all believed it due to how everyone sees Stolas.
Stolas gets into that court room and not one person expected him to show up due to them believing he was home alone and sad about the breakup or injustice done against him.
Andrelphus was able to spin a narrative and nearly held a court hearing by himself due to how pathetic Stolas had been made to be thanks to all of Stella's gossip and such.
Socially, Stella holds power so she cut Stolas short so he couldn't build connections or friends.
The only person to even question his absence was Vassago (my Puerto Rican King ofc), and he knew something was up if Andrelphus was purposely leaving it out.
As Caldella points out, no one questions Andrelphus's narrative. Everyone goes along with it! Stella and Andrelphus have socially ostracized Stolas to the point they have in a metaphorical sense "dethroned him" to utilize his authority to speak for him to get what they want.
The whole point of them doing this is to give Stella a sense of power in a world that she is utterly powerless in. It probably is why Andrelphus was brought up during The Circus. More than likely if Stolas did pushback, Andrelphus would go on about how awful Stolas was until Stella got what she wanted, power.
There is a reason Stolas is stripped down to what he is now. There is a reason Blitz is so exciting and it is because he feels he has a choice. A person who in some sense values his decisions and asks him questions.
While yes Blitz did semi-pressure Stolas or try to entice him into sex, at the end of the night Stolas wanted it and Blitz went along with it. The carnal need for pleasure and to be satisfied in some way was there due to a chronic lack of any positive reinforcement outside of Octavia. Stolas craved love and had a need for it.
Blitz was Stolas's only out. The only thing Stolas clung to for years as a out of his situation. Stella could tear apart his body, set fire to his clothes, belittle him, ostracize him, or even speak bad on his name, but she couldn't take Blitz away. She couldn't stop Stolas from dreaming. This is a concept I explain in my Stolas + Yuno Gasai character analysis, that the delusional attachment Stolas has to Blitz allowed him to maintain some essence of control over his life but also hope for a brighter future.
Stolas's life had been stripped of any actual choice, but Blitz? That was his choice. That was his and no one could take it from him. Loving Blitz and defending him, regardless of the consequences, was his choice and that is what mattered.
Stella and Andrelphus stripped Stolas of everything but they could not take Blitz.
The conversation on Stolas's autonomy can be depressing, but remembering that he never gave up that fundamental part of him, that Blitz in some way helped him maintain a semblance of- choice and autonomy is truly fascinating.
Thank you again, Caldella.

I'll probably just go on a rant after starting with this topic, but Helluva Boss really failed at showing us that Stolas doesn't look down on Imps. Or that he doesn't treat Blitzø as an exception, while not caring for Imps as a whole and the struggles they face. The only Imps/other lower-class Hellborns we see Stolas interact with are ones he:
-dislikes and shoves in Blitzø's face to make him feel guilty (Striker)
-abuses physically (his Butler)
-is indifferent to because they're on his side with being mad at Blitzø (Verosika, Tex)
-gets something out of (Blitzø, the guy at Verosikas party)
-ignores (Millie, Moxxie, Loona)
He gives Imps nicknames like: "little ones", uses the word "impish" as if Blitzø being an Imp implies anything about his behaviour (specifically his behaviour in bed). He tells Blitzø that his "friend", Striker tried to kill him, which either means that he believes every Imp knows/is friends with eachother or, that he said that to make Blitzø feel like he and Striker are like-minded (basically putting someone who was reasonably mad at him and tried to discuss their issues on the same side as someone who tried to assassinated him twice), which is manipulative as hell. He also ignores the fact that Blitzø couldn't come to save him because he had to take his daughter to the doctor (as if Loonas safety is less important than his, even though Blitzø has more of a reason to care for Loona than for him) and, that he sent Millie and Moxxie to save him (without them he literally wouldn't have survived). Stolas ignored Millie and Moxxie helping him in "LooLoo Land" as well, he only asked where Blitzø is because he is his "knight in shining armour", because he gets something out of him, which means he can just ignore the other Imps, who have no obligation/interest to sleep with him. Stolas being rich is never something he uses for the greater good. He could easily help Blitzø and his employees out financially, though I get that that might not be something Blitzø would want. But other than that as well, him seemingly having authority as royalty is completely useless. He only gets recognized in public when it's plot convenient (he has assassins trying to kill him as soon as he leaves the house in "LooLoo Land" and "Harvest Moon Festival", but going to a party with atleast 50 people or so is completely fine and no one seems to recognize him). We don't really see any of the duties he has as royalty. Apart from organizing the Harvest Moon festival, there really seems to be nothing he does (unless i'm forgetting something). The fact that he has to repress his sexuality also feels a little less impactful when you remember that Andrealphus and Vasago are also Gay. Though I guess we don't really know the connection they'll have to the story yet. The fact that he is super wealthy isn't really brought to focus either. He lives in a mansion and wears fancier clothes than the Imps, but that's just sorta it. Him being royal just makes the power imbalance much more apparent. Something that (from how I see it) was done intentionally, because Blitzø and Stolas were never ment to be endgame from the very start. At first it seems like Stolas is mostly just a running gag character, who got some depth in "LooLoo Land" but was never ment to be that important to Blitzø's story. He was more of a device that the I.M.P need to keep save, not because they actually cared for him (as he doesn't really care for them either), but because he is the only way they'll get to the human world. Characters that seemed like they'd be much more important to Blitzø's personal journey were:
-Moxxie (who probably gets used the best out of pretty much every character in HB, atleast in his relationship with Blitzø. Though they also didn't have real interactions for a while now)
-Loona (who hasn't changed her abusive behaviour towards him, because the show fails to give her meaningful screentime with Blitzø)
-Millie (who sorta has no real relationship to Blitzø aside from not really being dismissive of his actions. Though the Ghost episode might focus on how they met, etc.)
-Verosika (who they could've gotten more out of with the actually interesting relation she has to Blitzø, with a seemingly genuine and happy relationship they had, had they not sidelined her for the other, more uninteresting ship)
-Fizzarolli (who is utilized pretty well, though he and Blitzø got over their issues really fast and now they're just best buddies again with no complications and interesting moments whatsoever)
-Barbie Wire (Ya know, his sister who literally got nothing at all in terms of screentime, even though she should arguably be one of, if not the most important relationship Blitzø would need to be confronted with)
-Striker (who, from my understanding presented not only a threat to Stolas, but also a possible temptation for Blitzø to go against the system they live in. It was clear that he and Blitzø shared atleast some common ground, judging by the fact that he nearly became a new member of I.M.P because Blitzø liked him. They had chemistry and what Striker says about the system of hell is true and seemed like it would present a new option for Blitzø. A way to break free from oppression, which he might have never considered but is considering now that someone gave him a chance for things to change. But Striker got turned into a villian who completely lost the connection he shared with Blitzø. To become just another way the show could coddle Stolas by saying: "Oh no, Striker is saying that the upper class takes advantage of the lower classes?! But Stolas would never look down on Blitzø! He must be really aggressive and also, he was just hired by the evil Stella who wants Stolas dead for no good reason! So let's just ignore all the good reasons Striker has for wanting Stolas dead one way or another! Striker doesn't know what he's talking about, he was only an Imp suppressed by the upper class his whole life, how would he know what's best for Imp's?! Afterall Stolas is in love with Blitzø for real!!! That means that there is no problem with the royalty whatsoever and Striker and anyone like him should just shut up and stop complaining UwU..." <- definitely exaggerated)
(can you tell i'm really upset about what they did with Striker)
Some of these characters got dropped in order to make space for more screentime for Stolas, who is now considered the most important relationship for Blitzøs development, even though he should most definitely heal in other places, with other people before immediately deciding wether he wants to be in a romantic and sexual relationship or not. Blitzø has lots of issues and hurt a lot of people, there should be a lot of room to explore these relationships and to make Blitzø heal by sorting out his stuff, but the one he has with Stolas is not the one they should focus on first and foremost. If the way they've been writing Stolas for season two isn't going to change for the better, then I think he should've just stayed as an edgy joke. Atleast then he would've added context to the Imp's lower class status without taking away screentime from them and leaving way more interesting characters to be ingnored.

HELLUVA BOSS DEVIATING FROM ITS ORIGINAL PREMISE FUNDAMENTALLY DESTROYED THE SHOW
So, it has already been discussed many times in HB critical community that HB deviated from its premise after S1 and that anyone with an once of media literacy can tell that you can't describe it in any way other than horrible writing.
Now, I'm going to ask you this for a second - imagine that you haven't seen S1, the pilot or read the premise of Helluva Boss anywhere. Imagine that you watch all (available) episodes of S2 and are asked to write a premise about it on some movie review website. How would you briefly describe what happens in S2?
Oh, you can't or are having major trouble doing it? Don't worry, you are not media illiterate, my friend. That is the case because IT'S LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL WHAT HELLUVA BOSS IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT ANYMORE.
There are many flaws that your writing could possess - inconsistent characterization, too fast/slow pacing and so on. However, they do not automatically derail your work. It is very much possible to recognize those faults, learn from them and do better in the future.
But the premise of your work is its literal BONES. You build up the plot and characters based on it. You just can't expect your show to be good, if you tear out its basis. Of course the pacing, character development and how plot points are wrapped up in HB is horrible - how can anything function without the very thing that holds it all together?
And I MEAN that the premise of HB completely disappears, not shifts or changes. Like, seriously, what the hell is HB supposed to be about now?
Stolitz?
Their interactions indicate zero meaningful development and are tediously spaced out to the point that it's hard to care about their relationship. It is made even worse by the fact that Stolas, just like in S1, still keeps pressuring Blitzo, despite him being clearly uncomfortable.
Blitzo making amends with people he hurt?
Even ignoring S1's nonexistent buildup of this plotline (Blitzo looking at photos on his phone doesn't count, since it's literally the ONLY moment that barely suggests it), there's no buildup in S2 either, when it comes to both Barbie and Fizz. It is certainly not helped by the fact that Barbie just vanishes after Unhappy Campers and Blitzo and Fizz's beef is resolved in a single episode.
Any other plotlines of S2, like Fizz's job, Crimson, Striker, or Stolas and Stella's separation are just too small or insignificant to be considered part of the supposed premise, INCLUDING the assassination business, which arguably takes up the least amount of time of aspects of the show listed.
It's no surprise that Helluva Boss is slowly crumbling. At this point, it's just a paralysed zombie who completely forgot what it once was. And it's damn sad to watch, because the show comforted me during some dark times and, despite Viv being an awful person, I truly hoped for HB to be great.

Hazbin Trailer + Rewrite Spitballing
The Hazbin Trailer omg
I finally watched it and like... it's so bad guys. Honestly, the only people I pity are the animators and the pilot voice actors, and the new actors too. Blake Roman especially, the man is super talented, but trying to fill the massive shoes of Michael is weighing his performance down so bad. Honestly, if Viv wasn't a petty brat, she could've kept Michael and gotten Blake as the singing voice.
Apparently there's a war on Heaven plot? I hope to god not, like that's NOT THE PREMISE. God Viv just cannot stick to her premises, can she? This happened with Zoophobia, initially it seemed like it was going to follow Cameron but slowly lost focus on her. Then Helluva Boss losing the hired assassin plot for the sake of shitty Stolitz drama. Seems redeeming sinners is going to be a side plot which is unfortunate because that was one of the biggest things i wanted from this show. I remember when i used to love Vivziepop and i got so excited for the pilot of Hazbin. Redeeming sinneers, that sounded so cool. It's what got me into demonology and was a big part of my life. Sad to see this happen.
I genuinely hate the stupid trope of heaven, the place that is literally paradise for good people, being bad. Like, i cannot feasibly imagine a universe in which Viv manages to write that in any compelling way. And why is it just ‘heaven bad’??? This could be an interesting story that discusses the nature of good and bad, talks about what makes someone a good person, should people be given redemption if they already blew their chance, is the definition of 'good' wrong? Like, in the hands of competent writers, Hazbin could be an interesting story, like a Walmart Good Place! But no, heaven bad, let's go kill angels that say fuck.
Like, as an example of my above point, let’s look at a familiar face from Helluva Boss, Mrs. Mayberry.
She killed someone, tried to kill someone, then herself, and is now in hell. But a good question could be raised of if her being in hell is even justified. Yes, she killed a person (and attempted to kill another) which is not a good thing to do. But she killed her husband in a fit of rage after seeing him cheating on her – like actively, red handed, balls deep cheating on her. From what we see of her before her death, she seems like an attentive and caring teacher and wife, she even says herself she was ‘good my entire life’. Her students love her, and literally the reason she kills herself seems to be because she realizes that they saw her literally murder someone. She did choke and throw a child, but that was played for comedy so I'm not counting that against her. She kills herself because she’s so shocked about what she’s done. She’s bitter because she’s in hell.
Her husband was a cheater and the woman she tried to kill was a murderer and a cannibal, so by that logic, doesn’t her killing a bad person negate the killing? Yes, murder is bad, she should’ve controlled herself, but this was one terrible moment in a lifetime of being good. Like, say someone kills a pedobear, is the person commiting the murder a bad person for killing someone who deserved it? Not that her husband deserved to die for cheating, a good beat down maybe. If a good person kills a bad person, does that make them a bad person too? Or does it come down to intention? Did the good only kill the bad for a selfish reason?
That’s an interesting conundrum (in my opinion). Does she deserve to redeem herself? How would she redeem herself? If I keep thinking on it, i'll ramble, but that's my thinking. Anyway, this made me think about a rewrite that follows this line of thinking.
I’ve come to the conclusion that Charlie being an angel and Vaggie being her Exterminator guard who goes with her to hell to redeem sinners is the best way to make this mess an interesting thing. Like, Charlie is an optimistic angel who thinks the extermination of sinners is inhumane and that the standards of Heaven need changed. Vaggie is literally trained to kill sinners and sees Charlie’s efforts as futile but is assigned to help her anyway. Makes sense why everyone would disrespect Charlie and treat her like an idiot for wanting to redeem sinners, instead of insulting the daughter of FUCKING LUCIFER HIMSELF, they’re laughing at an angel who came down out of nowhere and is acting high and mighty.
Also, Charlie can keep the name Charlie Magne instead of Morningstar because she's no longer Lucifer's daughter. Vaggie is just V. boom, problem solved, i'm a genius.

Biggest criticism pet peeve is discussing Season One as if its a movie or the series finale.
Vaggie's underdeveloped? It's Season One.
This character didn't get a lot of focus? It's season one, they're going to return in the next season(s).
Charlie's not learning? It's Season One, and she still doesn't know her plan works. Erika herself discussed she still has ways to go in several interviews.
Hate bringing up the writers unfairly given a 24min runtime in 8 episodes and unsure if they'll be able to continue the series but it's true. They deserve their flowers for managing to work with what they got.
YESSSSSS!
I had this same fucking issue with ppl getting angry with Helluva Boss. Even now, they still want to complain about certain plotlines not being finished. BITCH, we are in season TWO! Shut the fuck up!
I don't understand this thought process with any show, honestly. Unless it's a limited series, what are you expecting from the first season? I understand that the plot seemed to wrap up really quickly, but it's very clear that Lute isn't gonna take this sitting down. Plus, we don't even know how Sera will react, esp since that battle could still be an "uprising".
Why won't ppl just let the show play out

Opinion on Sarcastic Chorus quitting Helluva Boss?
I'm sorry for the late reply, I don't check my inbox quite often.
Honestly, I'm happy he left the community, I feel like he really needed to. I used to be a big fan of his content, however, ever since the release of Season 2.5 of Helluva Boss, he started becoming very hypercritical of the series to the point that he would criticize every little thing to the nth degree.
I do give him credit for the analysis he did on Full Moon because it helped control the rampant amount of hatred Blitzø was getting, however, his videos on Apology Tour and Ghostfuckers really stopped making sense, and he would analyze things that weren't really the main focus.
Did we need an 8 minute video discussing the relationship between Martha and Ms. Mayberry? Nope, but he certainly did make one.
Did we really need to make a 15 minute video discussing whether or not Blitzø actually treated Millie with respect? Nope, but he made that one too.
Point is, Sarcastic Chorus stopped knowing how to be a fan, and only knew how to be a critic.
I'm just surprised that Sinsmas was what actually broke him.
Also, his argument that Helluva Boss "lost the plot,"... It didn't.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I.M.P was never the plot, the show has always been about the titular main character: Blitzø and his relationships, his growth, and the society he lives in.

I have few complaints about the Helluva Boss episode and was disappointed to see how many other had, especially at such fundamental structures of the show. The big complaint I want to discuss is the idea that the B Plot was pointless or boring, because I think the B Plot was not only an understandable screen time padder but also effectively set up to make the A Plot stronger. A lot of times when shows follow an A/B Plot structure one is more important than the other and the push and pull to balance the weight of each episode. Aka your supposed to be a lil bored at one of them but it makes you wait to build tension. This is really common and when one A Plot is extra important or heavy, normally the B Plot will take a bigger backseat and be something more lighthearted. Not only did Blitz in the hospital provide some levity from striker, but it was actually important we had a good reason WHY blitz wasn't there. We as an audience needed to believe this was an important situation to him and while we can laugh about slow Healthcare jokes or an assassin being scared of a shot, from his perspective he was been waiting years for this, he is watching his daughter be scared and in pain and fight him against something she needs to be healthy and to him, these stakes are real. If there was going to be anything keeping blitz from rescuing stolas, prioritizing his daughter is about the best possible reason i could ask for. And then we get the reaction as stolas gets to the hospital, the helpless, i wasnt there, i never thought it could go this badly reaction. And the lesson for him rather than "I wasn't good enough to save him" if he went and stolas was always going to be hurt, was instead "I didn't give him my time when he needed it and now hes hurt" and isn't that the whole nature of the conflict, blitz not seriously considering stolas feelings or situations and not giving time and emotional depth to them? We even see that immedietly supported in the texts, he gives very short responses, no time or emotion for much more. I thought the a/B Plot structure was perfect in that sense.
