Something about being able to find Gods in every little thing, every day.
Lord Apollon in the music that plays, either by your playing, or randomly hearing it, King Zeus in the stormy weather that makes the perfect atmosphere for hot chocolate, Lady Hestia in the toast and tea made for breakfast when your whole family is sleepy, Lady Aphrodite in the love for your hobbies and passions, Lord Hephaestus in everything you decide to repair or repurpose instead of throwing away...
There's so much, and I absolutely adore every bit of it!

I don't like when people paint Aphrodite as slut for cheating on Hephestos.
Or paint both Ares and Aphrodite as vain and superficial for it.
My man, you are lacking 1 important piece of lore of that myth and here it goes:
*Aphrodite and Ares knew eachother, and were together before Hephestos asked her hand in marriage*
Imagine if your girlfriend of years that you planned on marrying is suddenly sold off to your brother because he got a more luxurious bridal offer? (Whenever you believe in the golden throne myth or not it just makes the situation worse btw)
Tumblr media
Aphrodite and Ares affair was not a superficial thing. It was not a "He/She is soooo hot and i don't care that she is married/that i'm married"
Hephestos could have been the best husband in the world or whatever, he still was the vain one for asking for the hand of a girl who had NO interest in him + already had a consort (And even had kids with that said consort, depending on how you see the timeline of the myths)
And he asked for it because Aphrodite was the goddess of beauty.
Ares truly loved her for more than looks. Loved her enough to go against the rules, against his own brother. Because he would rather be caught in a thousand golden nets than to renounce to Aphrodite's love.
This is not a "Haha, people that cheat on their spouses are so dumb and deserve humiliation"
This is a forbidden love story. And that's why i love it.

Here we finally have my finalised designs of the divine children of Zeus, Hades and Poseidon.
I wanted to combine their sacred animals into their designs, though some have the sacred animals of their parents because they didn’t have any themselves.

I just had a thought what if while Percy, Annabeth and Grover are on there quest Clarisse is slowly getting closer to a child of Hephaestus. Or maybe her broken spear from episode 2 goes missing after its broken and suddenly reappears in her cabin on her bed fixed. Maybe not fully fixed but well enough to be used mostly. Cause like a child of Ares and a child of Hepheastus would be cute considering there parents history together.

Working with a fire deity isn't always just about fire itself, it can also be. . .
The sensation of warmth in the sun.
Burning with passion. Inspiring passion.
Sadness that feels like thunderstorms, emotions that burn slowly and hotly, and joy that feels like your heart was ignited.
The burn in your legs, your lungs, etc. when you run.
Fire related professions such as blacksmithing and glass blowing.
Loving so fiercely that your heart burns with the desire to protect.

I saw a few people reply Hermes on the last post, so I've decided to create a new poll with him included!
I'd really appreciate if you could tell more on why you chose this God/Goddess in tags/comments!
Please reblog for a bigger sample size!

Heoheastus Comm
This is Hepheastus! He is a part of a big batch of commissions I recieved to do an entire pantheon of deities. His concept was the hardest for me to wrestle with because he is such a physical design and I always lean ethereal when designing deities. But ultimately I'm super proud of how he came out.

Hermes, Hekate, Hephaestus, & Apollon.
(I also work with Orion, but he's not a deity).
I want to assume you’re an eclectic witch who likes structure but maybe just has a hard time keeping to it, so letting things be a little looser in your craft and not sticking to one thing just helps the flow.
I can see you doing a lot of spells to help with home and work life, relationships and money matters and manifesting good energy into your life.
Lots of fire magic energy as well 😊

An issue in helpol that I tend to have is the way people treat myth literalism.
I'm personally on the side that the myths shouldn't be taken literally, and that most of the stories should be taken as metaphorical. But also, I completely understand and respect people who do treat the myths as literal.
The issue that I have is when people pick and choose based on what fits their own morals the most.
I think that by far the most popular example is the story of Hades and Persephone. The ruler of the Underworld taking his niece out of Harvest's arms. Whether you choose to take it as Hades actually kidnapping Persephone, or as death taking a girl out of her mother's arms; both are perfectly sound.
However, choosing to take that as metaphorical and yet villanizing Zeus or Hera, instead of taking it as a representation of their respective domains seems...
Quite hypocritical.
Why can't we see Zeus's promiscuity as a representation of his title as God of fertility?
Why can't we see Hera abandoning Hepheastus as a representation of post-partum depression, considering her title as Goddess of childbirth?
(Those are the main ones that come to mind at the moment, but I'm fully open to hearing about more examples!)
I just think judging the Gods purely based on our own moral compass, and picking and choosing whose actions to justify based on which action you yourself deem unforgivable is something we need to work on.
I'm always open to feedback and criticism; if I had spread any misinformation, or incomplete/confusing information, please do let me know!

The Yandere Timeline.
The Time of Joy/Era of Tragedies. It had been around June as Zeus learned that as Hera left to bath in the Kanathos that she wanted to show him her few new Robe's. Zeus did what every god does as Hera was gone, he called all the Gods and casted down all the gods from the heavens, taking most of their divine power in the process. They are Demigod level on power. Only allowed to return when Zeus and Hera time is done, Hermes was left to guard and make sure no deities is allowed back into Olympus. And Hermes knew what would happen if he fucks it up, their Father Master bolt never shined that much.
Hestia lived under her Temple in Rome, being fast the Bestia! She did not have as much problems as the other without their powers, she was among her Vestal Virgins and just made Food for the Roman people, her powers allowed her to do that.
Ares was in Sparta with Aphrodite, Artemis was just with her hunters nothing really changed as she did not even notice what happen till she meet her attacked brother Apollo who learned how badly their father nerfed them,  Athena was traveling with her sister but leaving her fast for a Library.  Poseidon was in Atlantis his wife used him having no Power that he took care of the Paperwork.  Dionysus was with his cult, Demeter tried to find Kore who was in the Underworld with Hades, and Hepheastus was just in his Forge.
After many years they really noticed the problems they had as without their full powers they were as strong as Demigods only and wanted fast their full powers back, other then Hestia most of them had gone pretty crazy and wanted their full powers, even Artemis learned how lucky she was with her powers as she tried to be a Hunter without Godly powers or not even able to have new Hunters into her group, she only had Zoe left of them.
While on Olympus Zeus and Hera had the joy of their Lives, just that 2.. and the forgotten Hermes.
Till Artemis came back crying to her father as he saw him and Hera on a Date in the mortal world, he allowed them back into Olympus. Telling them that his and Hera alone time was over.
The truth was Zeus forgot he even kicked them in the first place, and just spend all the time with Hera. And yes, they were without almost all their power for more then 30 years.
The only one that had a actually good and able to live well was Hestia/Vesta, her worship had gone up to 200% in that 30 years and even more after it was done.

Fun fact: according to some of the old myths, the greek god Hephæstus, the lord of invention and craftsmanship, was waited on by a retainer of golden fembots who served as repository for all his divine knowledge.
Now, given that
Hepheastus was just as horny as any any greek deity
He was considered so unfuckably ugly that within seconds of giving birth to him Hera decided it wasnt too late for her to have an abortion.
He is the only known deity to qualify for the Most Divorced Man In The Universe award.
It stands to reason that one of them would have been his secretarywife. With that in mind, I propose that their relationship would have looked something like this:

How do the gods decide they are gonna claim their kids. Do they spin a wheel and who ever it lands on has to clain a camper. Or what. Like out of the 12 olympians zeus, hera and poseidon wont be on the wheel so it would be the other 9 olympians. So yeah that or they play Scissors, paper, rock and the winner has to claim a child. The one time you dont want to win.
