Told my husband one of my halstarion fics is just me working through some of my own trauma (I might never publish it tbh ((I might one day)) I just find a lot of catharsis and therapy in writing. Halsin very much reminds me of my husband, and Astarion's struggle to find a sense of self-worth and identity after a lifetime of being abused and controlled really speaks to me and I've told him as much before)

But anyway I said something along the lines of "astarion is finding the ability to heal just being around and talking to halsin just by nature of him simply being a good human being" and my husband wrapped me in a really big hug and leaned close to my ear and I thought he was going to say something NICE AND SWEET BUT INSTEAD HE WHISPERED:

"halsin isn't a human, he's an elf"

I'm gunna kick his ass 🤣
