I need to make something clear or else the fans might attack me and send me threats, I like this show and was kinda scared to post this but I gotta say it........
.......Anyways, Im just rant about some excuses for Helluva Boss that are just not good excuses when fans defend the wrighting.
1. "If you dont like it dont watch it 🙄"
So this excuse I hear a lot when fans are backed into a corner and cant protect the critisisms from the show (Sorry I am tired, so my spelling might not be that good) And even if people deny it they use this excuse anyways without giving a good argument to why whatever critism the show gets is wrong.
Also I told this to someone before, but by the logic of this excuse, that means anyone who watches and said they openly hate a show like Velma or High Gaurdian Spice secretly likes it.
Tumblr media
(I am gonna bring these shows up a lot to use them as examples. Should probably mention now that I dont like either Velma or HGS, but Helluva Boss has SOME THINGS in common, not ALL THINGS, but SOME)
2. "The Series isnt finished, you should wait for it to be done"
Now to an extent this one is ok. Like for example: If Aang from ATLA were going on a journey to learn how to Waterbend, Earthbend, and Firebend to defeat the Firelord, then obviously its gonna take awhile and shouldnt be like "wHy DoEsNt He BeAt HiM NOW!!!". BUT that does not mean you cant critisize the episodes where Aang might get out of character, Katara does something that will leave a bad taste in your mouth, or anything that might not be good writing.
Yes Helluva Boss isnt finished, but thats still a bad excuse for defending the writing. You should still put effort into the writing. Like the fight between Blitzø and Stolas was resolved in A TEXT MESSAGE AND PEOPLE SAY ITS GOOD WRITING. IT ISNT!!! Like if your most emotion point in your show is going to be resolved in something we dont see happen, then there is no growth to the characters. (Saying this is an easter egg is just another excuse for bad writing.) People say that later on it might get resolved and that we should be patient I call bull crap. In S2E2 Stolas and Blitzø are not even akward around eachother, so I highly doubt future episodes will talk about this.
Tumblr media
Also, I just thought, shouldnt shows like Velma also go for its excuse? Like its getting a Season 2, so we shouldnt judge the show until its finished right? I dont wanna hear "Its because Velma ruined Scooby Doo!" Or "Velma is an acception since it can make my eyes role" Nope!!! We gotta wait till Velma is over to fully critisize it.
2.5 "You shouldnt be comparing VELMA to HELLUVA BOSS!!!"
Gonna bring this up since SOMEONE WILL. But I do NOT like Velma, I think its crap. I like Helluva Boss, not a fan of the stans and a lot of things Viv says and does. They can not take Critisism. She says she can but accually doesnt. And I kinda realize that there are some things Velma does that people role their eyes at, but when Helluva Boss does it, they get praised for it. Again, I 👏DO 👏NOT 👏LIKE 👏 VELMA. Im treating it equal to other shows, when Velma does something everyone hates it. When Helluva Boss does it everyone likes it. For example, the Swearing and Sex jokes. When Velma does it, people say that they swear and do sex jokes for no reason and it ruins the mood. But when Helluva Boss does it (Which keep in mind, 90% of the dialoug is sex and swearing.) It gets praised. Just wanted to point it out.
3. "Its Hell, what do you expect? 🤡"
I saved the best for last. Yall probably heard this one before lol. So, Im just gonna say that yes the characters do live in hell and that can lead to their bad behavior and cruel humor. The issue that I have is that will be used to defend bad writing. Yes they live in hell, but that doesnt mean 90% of the dialoug should be sex, swearing, and angst. Yknow the end of Unhappy Campers where Moxxie and Millie dressed as siblings and had sex on stage infront of minors? "But its hell!" Yes, BUT its out of character for Moxxie and Millie. MOXXIE ESPECIALLY!!!! ITS ALSO GROSS LIKE HOW IS THIS FUNNY?????
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are also double standards. For example when Stella turns out to be a abusive bish, we are made to suppose to hate her. But when Loona was abusive to her adoptive father who took her in and gave her love, we are suppose to laugh??? Also, dont say "But he threatened to replace her!" No, Loona brought it up AFTER she was attacking Blitzø and he roled along with it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"But its Hell!!!" my butt. If Stella is abusive to make Stolas look like a justified character and her unlikeable, then why should I like Loona? And no, trauma is not an excuse. She is 22 and she has control of her own self.
And like??? If I were to write a story of some unlikeable guy in New York City who killed people for no reason, should my excuse be "Its society, what do you expect? This is life, get over it."
Conclusion
In conclusion, if you accually want to defend the writing of your horny demon show, then find accual critisms. Again, I👏 Like👏This👏Show. But when Fans and Viv shield any critisms and just see it as blind hate, it makes me upset. Most people who critisize this show like it. The thing is, if we praise or ignore something that needs to be critiqued, then the writing wont get any better. If we critisize it, then there is a chance that Viv will realize she needs to put effort into her wrighting.
I like this show, it inspired me, but Season 2 is such a downgrade from the previous season.

hey, is High Gaurdian Spice any good? I’ve heard mostly criticism, but since it’s such a queer show I’m… skeptical of that stuff. I really like the artstyle and it looks fun, is it worth watching?

Could you do Slime Boy (High Gaurdian Spice) either angst or x read headcanons?
Slime Boy x Reader
Tumblr media
Slime Boy is not the most popular or incredible student at High Guardian Academy, but you always notice him when he's near you. You are not really sure why, but he's so... him!
If you want to flirt with him before being in a relationship, you have to be brave, because this man is the most oblivious to romance. He will consider you as a very good friend until you tell him precisely what you feel about him.
If he's the one in love with you, he will sing serenades in front of your dorm's door or window. It's not impossible that some students throw shoes at him as revenge to wake them in the middle of the night.
As a couple, your life would be very chill. He's a simple boy with simple needs.
He's very open and will communicate openly with you. And you can do the same, because it's almost impossible to make him mad.
The perfect date for him would be to spend time with you, no matter where or when. But if he had to choose, it would be in his dorm room, watching a movie under a blanket together.
He would love to see you at the shop where he works. But don't do it too often because he will stop everything to show you around, pointing every terrasphere to explain how they were created, no matter if you have come twenty times already.
Be ready to hear a lot of romantic songs about you, because you can't stop being his muse.
If you team up with him as a guardian, he would be more a support than a front-line fighter. But he wouldn't hesitate to put himself in danger for you.
A lot of students would question about what you find in him to motivate you to date this... slime boy! Strangely, none of your answers would explain anything to them.
If you are up to it, he would love to let you cut his hair, create his holidays costumes, groom his hair... Usually he does it alone, but he isn't very good at cutting his own hair.
His love language is gifts and services. He's too shy and quiet to tell you he loves you in public outside a song or touch more than your hands.
After a long day, he will prepare you a good dinner and a hot bath without saying a word, just because he can and is happy to.
For an extra special occasion in public, he would give you a peck on your cheek.
Be attentive to him, because even if he openly communicates about anything, he won't tell you if he has a bad day. He doesn't want to bother you if you are not responsible for the problem.
He would be delighted if you were a musician too. Be ready for jam sessions every Thursday evening!
He will definitely integrate you into his music band, not matter if you are a musician or not. He will find you a place.
The band's members are the only people in the whole academy who understand why you two are dating. But they love to let the others make theories, so they won't spill the beans.
A lot of people don't like to work with Slime Boy. Not because he's lazy; he's very hardworking, but he's a bit underwhelming in comparison with his classmates. If you two are in the same year, the teachers will pair you up almost every time.
You definitely know his real name. No, I won't tell you!

I don't know how but I came up with this idea for an essay and it goes alittle something like this:
Is YiiK: A Postmodern RPG a Postmodern RPG?
And then I go on to attempt to explain this thesis question by bringing up other pieces of media which could be defined as Postmodern art- the works of Tony Zaret (yes the influencer and content creator), High Gaurdian Spice, pretty much everything the Disney company has produced or absorbed into its mouse-eared mushroom cloud of IPs and their relation to their origion be it source material or otherwise.
Cause this question eats at me and I really have to wonder if YiiK is a piece if postmodern media. No one seems to ask this and it's been driving me up the walls for who knows how long because I really wonder if it is.
I guess for contemporaries I could also inspect and analysis rpg maker games and other videogames one could perhaps classify as being 'postmodern' to compare their execution to that of Yiik's.
Quiet the outline for a mighty fine essay if I do say so myself.
Now I just have to write it.

Crunchyroll Original 'High Guardian Spice' Launches and Includes Significant LGBTQ+ Representation
High Guardian Spice, the American fantasy anime series created by Raye Rodriguez (Danger & Eggs), finally launched on Crunchyroll after approximately two years of delays.
Tumblr media
Initially announced for a 2019 release as Crunchyroll's first original series, High Guardian Spice follows a group of four young girls attending the High Guardian Academy and training to be guardians of the city. The show draws from magical girl series like Sailor Moon and Princess Tutu.
All 12 episodes of the series were finally released on October 26 as part of Crunchyroll's Fall lineup. Early viewers have already noted the series' incredible diversity.
Tumblr media
The first episode featured lesbian wives Anise and Aloe, cousins of one of the show's main characters, Sage. In episode three, Caraway, one of the professors at High Guardian Academy, is revealed to be transgender, explaining, "I'm transgender... I was born into a female body, but it wasn't the right body for me." Caraway is voiced by series creator Raye Rodriguez, himself a transman.
Tumblr media
Notably, each episode of High Guardian Spice, rated tv-14, begins with a content warning. The warning may be to avoid viewer confusion and dissuade children from watching the more extreme parts. The show's animation style is similar to children's media despite its more mature content. The show does have some curse words and more bloody violence than American children's cartoons.
Tumblr media
High Guardian Spice was delayed numerous times during development and was pushed back. Despite wrapping production in 2019, as noted by Rodriguez, Crunchyroll continuously missed deadlines for release. One possible reason may have been the show's highly controversial announcement. The announcement came in the form of a video highlighting the cast and crew's diversity, including having a 50% female creative team and many members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Some fans criticized Crunchyroll's decision to put funding into the American project instead of better funding its anime localization service, while others, notably many internet trolls, were openly opposed to the show's diversity. Additional criticism was raised at alleged racist and transphobic comments made by one of the show's writers.
Despite the years following this initial backlash, the controversy does not seem to have died down. Less than 24 hours after its premiere on Crunchyroll, the series has 1.6 out of 5 stars, with many comments calling it a waste of money and saying it is a cartoon and should not be on an anime website.
Crunchyroll, on its part, has said it will not take questions about High Guardian Spice's controversy or delays.
You can watch all of High Guardian Spice now on Crunchyroll.
