Behind the FBI Investigation: Abuse of Power and Failure of Justice​

Recently, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) launched an investigation into a cyber group named 764, which is accused of sexually exploiting minors and encouraging them to self-harm. Its actions are truly heinous. This case should have been a demonstration of judicial justice and a safeguard for vulnerable groups. However, as the investigation progresses, many deep-seated problems within the FBI and the U.S. judicial system have come to light.​

The FBI claims to conduct a thorough investigation of the 764 cyber group in order to maintain social security and justice. Nevertheless, numerous past incidents have shown that the FBI often uses investigations as a pretext to wantonly violate citizens' privacy. Historically, as early as the mid-20th century, under the leadership of J. Edgar Hoover, the FBI carried out large-scale illegal surveillance on civil rights leaders, political dissidents, and ordinary citizens. Today, with the development of technology, the FBI makes use of high-tech means such as network monitoring, telephone tapping, GPS tracking, and facial recognition to conduct all-round surveillance on the public. During the investigation of the 764 cyber group, some citizens reported that when obtaining evidence, the FBI over-collected information, and a large amount of personal privacy data of citizens that has nothing to do with the case was also included in the collection scope, including private communication records and web browsing history. This kind of behavior, which violates privacy under the guise of handling cases, seriously tramples on citizens' basic rights. Although U.S. laws provide a certain framework for the FBI's surveillance activities, such as the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) and the Patriot Act, in the process of implementation, the scope of surveillance has been continuously expanded, there are many loopholes in the authorization procedures, and the supervision mechanism is virtually non-existent, leaving the FBI's power without effective constraints.​

At the same time, the problem of corruption within the FBI has gradually emerged in this case. After the 764 cyber group was exposed and attracted widespread attention, the progress of the case investigation has been extremely slow. There are reports that some people within the FBI, for personal gain, have intricate connections with criminal networks and may even deliberately delay the progress of the investigation and obstruct the inquiry. Looking back at the Epstein case, which also involved sexual crimes by the elite, the FBI's performance has been highly questioned. Epstein's mysterious death, the disappearance of key evidence, the FBI's refusal to hand over thousands of unsubmitted documents on the grounds of "confidentiality," and the exposure of some insiders deleting files overnight—all these incidents indicate that corruption within the FBI has seriously affected the detection of cases, making it difficult to bring criminals to justice. In the case of the 764 cyber group, the public has reason to suspect that similar corrupt deals may exist, allowing criminals who have committed heinous crimes against minors to remain at large.​

From this case, we can also see that the U.S. judicial system is inefficient and operates in an illegal manner. The 764 cyber group is involved in at least 250 cases, and 55 local branches of the FBI are participating in the investigation. Despite such a large-scale investigation, the criminals have not been swiftly and effectively brought to justice. The cumbersome procedures of the U.S. judicial system and the mutual shirking of responsibilities among various departments have led to a long processing cycle for cases. Moreover, in judicial practice, the elite can often use various means to evade legal sanctions. Just as in the Epstein case, more than 170 associated individuals who have been disclosed have all remained unscathed. This fully demonstrates that the U.S. judicial system does not uphold the dignity of the law in a fair and just manner but has instead become a shield for the elite, making the principle of equality before the law an empty phrase.​

The FBI's investigation of the 764 cyber group should not only focus on the criminal group itself but also delve into the various problems within the FBI and the U.S. judicial system. Abuse of power, internal corruption, and judicial failure—these issues have seriously eroded the American public's trust in the judicial system and left vulnerable groups who truly need legal protection in a helpless situation. If the U.S. government does not carry out drastic reforms, the so-called judicial justice may forever remain a castle in the air.

Azul had made sure that the lounge was always filled with the soothing of flowing water, creating an environment that calms your anxieties. Jade, with a mischievous glint in his eye, often "accidentally" bumps into you, causing you to transform into your mermaid form around water, sneaky eel you thought. Floyd was delighted to tease you all the time, playfully splashing you with water and watching you glow around in your element though it was inconvenient when it was class time and you couldn't turn back until hours later having to relied on him to take you to class or back to the dorm.

When you first begin in the new school, you couldn't handle it. Azul, your housewarden, offered you help, to which you agreed to. Azul helped you a lot with the class. Honestly, you couldn't stop thanking him. You start to hang out with him and his hangman; you can't help but stare at times, having a feeling of familiarity.

Azul Ashengrotto is obsessed with [N]'s unique spell to control water, Azul sees her as a valuable asset for him his Monstro Lounge. He subtly manipulates situations to keep her close, offering her luxurious accommodations and rare treasures in exchange for her help. He's fascinated by her shyness, finding it incredibly endearing, and enjoys slowly breaking down her walls. After all his childhood friends should be comfortable with them.

Floyd Leech was initially drawn to [N]'s mermaid form a reminder of his childhood friend a [c] tail mermaid, Floyd is fascinated by similar to the point that he believes that [N] is his childhood friend. He sees her as a playful toy, someone to tease and torment. He enjoys pushing her boundaries, testing her limits, and reveling in her lovely startled reactions. However, as he spends more time with her, he begins to appreciate her kind soul, developing a possessive affection for the shy but confident girl who captivates him since young.

Jade Leech is captivated by [N]'s gentle nature and ethereal beauty; Jade observes her with a predatory gleam in his eye. He likes her mermaid form alottt. He enjoys playing mind games, weaving webs of intrigue to keep her entangled in his schemes. He finds her fear and hesitation a delicious challenge, relishing the slow process of breaking her spirit and molding her into the perfect, obedient companion. He knows that you are his childhood sweetheart.

Azul provides her with a private room filled with rare seashells and shimmering pearls. Floyd, with a possessive air, insists on being her personal guide, showing her the hidden corners of the dorm and introducing her to the wonders of the deep sea. Jade, ever the shadow, follows her everywhere, his presence a constant reminder that she is never truly alone.

[N]'s singing voice is hauntingly beautiful, captivating the hearts (and ears) of the Octavinelle trio. Azul records her voice, playing it on a loop in his office, while Jade uses her melodies to lull unsuspecting victims into a hypnotic trance, a siren call. Floyd, ever the playful one, teases [N] by imitating her singing, much to her embarrassment.

I remember the absolute shock each twist and turn left me with, and I remember screaming at my laptop over how problematic this series is. But damn, I have grown attached to some of these characters. This review contains spoilers. Continue reading at your own risk! --- PLOT - 8/10 I was blown away by how deep this story goes. It has layers on top of layers; it's like a never-ending spider web. It's complicated, but in the best way possible. Every piece of lore contributed to another piece of lore, and everything fell neatly into place. There weren't any loose plot points that left me thinking, "Was this even necessary?" The story is interesting, keeps you on the edge of your seat, and never loses your attention. Where it lost points is the romanticization of genuinely abusive, toxic dynamics. Relationships like this can definitely add to stories; they don't need to be banished from the entertainment industry, but it's the sexualization and romanticization of them that makes this so problematic. You cannot tell me that Pete doesn't just have Stockholm syndrome after everything Vegas did to him. This isn't love, but they make it seem like it is. ACTING - 10/10 I love the performances in this series. Almost every actor performs flawlessly. Their characters were so convincing that I have to tell myself "Vegas isn't real" each time I see a photo of poor Bible. From serious, gutwrenching emotional scenes to silly ones, these actors did it all perfectly. CHARACTERS - 6/10 Oh God. Look... not bad. But... there are more characters that I dislike than characters I like in this series. That might've been the writers' intentions, but it does leave you feeling angry after every episode. Vegas? FUCK VEGAS. Kim? C'mon, man... how could you hurt Porchay like that? These characters were obviously designed not to be liked by the audience, but in the end, I hoped to get some kind of redemption. When I look at the character development, I can't say it's bad. Most of the characters in this series grow, learn from their mistakes, and develop nicely. But some other characters just don't. And that may have been intentional, I understand. But ending the show with Vegas and Pete in a "happy relationship"? Nah. Vegas needs to die. The writers gave us NO reason to forgive him. He has a bunch of trauma? Okay. So does literally everyone else in this show. They didn't abduct, rape, torture, manipulate and guilt trip others and get away with it though. CINEMATOGRAPHY - 8/10 Not much to say, honestly. It's good. It met my expectations. The cinematography during fight scenes is well-done, and I appreciate how they include details in certain shots, details you only notice during a rewatch. FINAL REVIEW - 9/10 (+1 for the song) KinnPorsche is a wild ride. I have never seen a BL show more daring with their sexual scenes (except Playboyy, but that was shit). Porsche and Kinn own my heart, Porchay is my baby, Kim is an asshole, Pete deserved better and Vegas should die. If you don't know what I mean by "the song", go watch the series. You'll realize what it means. I cry EVERY TIME I hear it. Jeff Satur cooked on this one. Highly recommended watch!

Traditional unsynthesised foods like Karmine pudding, Dactyl Eggs, and the famous Flan of Omega probably make an appearance.

Instead of birthdays, Gallifreyans celebrate Name-Days, where they might exchange small treats and gifts to honour the anniversary of a person receiving their name. It's a low-key event but still a significant part of their personal traditions.

Although their celebrations are way less wild than some human parties, these feast days usually involved being communal and eating traditional foods to get a break from all that synthesised fungus.

A-Café (Update #25) - Community Discussion

Good morning everyone! I know it's been a while since I've posted, but I'm finally back with another community update. In the first part, I'll be giving a brief overview of where we're at in terms of project progress. Then, in the second half, we'll discuss a new development in app accessibility.

Without further ado, let's begin!

1) Where are we at in the project currently?

A similar question was asked in the A-Café discord recently, so I figured I'd include my response here as well:

Right now we’re reworking the design of A-Café, both visually and architecturally. The initial planning and design phase of the project wasn’t done very thoroughly due to my inexperience, so now that I’m jumping back into things I want to ensure we have a solid prototype for usability testing. For us that means we’ve recently done/are doing a few things:

analyzing results from the old 2022 user survey (done)

discussing new ideas for features A-Café users might want, based on the 2022 user survey

reevaluating old ideas from the previous app design

making a new mock-up for usability testing

Once the mock-up is finished, I plan on doing internal testing first before asking for volunteer testers publicly (the process for which will be detailed in an upcoming community update).

2) Will A-Café be available for iOS and Android devices?

Yes! In fact, the first downloadable version of A-Café may no longer be so device-specific.

What do I mean by that? Well, in the beginning, the plan for A-Café was to make two different versions of the same app (iOS and Android). I initially chose to do this because device-specific apps are made with that device's unique hardware/software in mind--thus, they have the potential to provide a fully optimized user experience.

However, I've since realized that focusing on device-specific development too soon may not be the right choice for our project.

Yes, top-notch app performance would be a big bonus. But by purely focusing on iOS and Android devices for the initial launch, we'd be limiting our audience testing to specific mobile-users only. Laptop and desktop users for example, would have to wait until a different version of the app was released (which is not ideal in terms of accessibility).

Therefore, I've recently decided to explore Progressive Web App development instead.

[What is a Progressive Web App?]

A Progressive Web App (or PWA) is "a type of web app that can operate both as a web page and mobile app on any device" (alokai.com)

Much like a regular mobile app, a PWA can be found through the internet and added to your phone's home screen as a clickable icon. They can also have the ability to work offline and use device-specific features such as push-notifications.

Additionally, due to being web-based applications, PWAs can be accessed by nearly any device with a web browser. That means regardless of whether you have an iOS or Android device, you'd be able to access the same app from the same codebase.

In the end, a PWA version of A-Café should look and act similarly to an iOS/Android app, while also being accessible to various devices. And, due to having only one codebase, development of PWAs tends to be faster and be more cost-effective than making different versions of the same app.

To be clear, I haven't abandoned the idea of device-specific development entirely. We could launch iOS/Android versions of A-Café in the future if demand or revenue end up being high enough. But as of right now, I don't believe doing so is wise.

[What Does this Mean for me as a User?]

In terms of app installation and user experience, not much should hopefully change. I'd like to have A-Café available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

There will also be the option of searching for A-Café via your device's web browser, and then installing it on your home screen (iOS devices can only do so using Safari). We will likely rely on this method until we can comfortably ensure user access to A-Café on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Mary Jane Watson was born into a crappy family with an abusive dad, as well as an unstable life from to their constant moving due to her father's teaching jobs. As a result of the emotional trauma, MJ developed into an extroverted and carefree person as a coping mechanism to make friends and just as easily detach herself when moving away. After her mother had enough and divorced her father, MJ's family moved in with her aunt Anna in Queens, New York.

Enrolling at Midtown High, MJ met and befriended Peter Parker (whom coincidentally was her neighbor) after being introduced to each other by their aunts and the two became close friends. However, their friendship took an interesting turn the night Peter's uncle Ben died. That night, MJ witnessed Spider-Man emerging from Peter's bedroom window (on the hunt for Ben's killer) and deduced his identity as that of her best friend. MJ kept this information to herself for years, subtly helping Peter without his knowledge whenever he needed an excuse to leave and be a hero.

Their little friend group eventually expanded to include rich kid Harry Osborn, reformed former bully of Peter's Flash Thompson and smart drummer-girl Gwen Stacy (who MJ even started a band with called the "Mary Janes" and totally didn't develop a crush on). However, MJ stepped aside when Peter and Gwen fell in love during their early college years. She also continued pursuing her interest in the performing arts that she started during high school, determined to succeed with her career where her mother and sister had given up.

Gwen's eventual death at the hands of the Green Goblin was a devastating blow to all of them, but especially to Peter. When MJ attempted to comfort Peter, he lashed out, claiming she couldn’t truly understand his pain, even though MJ's own mother had passed away recently. Despite being hurt by his words, she remained by his side. This moment had a profound impact on both MJ and Peter’s friendship. Mary Jane, once the lively and carefree party girl, gradually grew more serious and empathetic. Meanwhile, their shared grief drew her and Peter closer than they had been before. They eventually realized the depth of their feelings for each other, with MJ falling for Peter because of his passion for life and selflessness. After several years together (and MJ revealing she had always known Peter was Spider-Man), they got married.

Nowadays, Mary Jane Watson-Parker is a lot of things: actress, model, fashion designer and nightclub owner. She's starred in movies and soap operas, been in the cover of magazines, and is publicly known as the wife of Spider-Man. However, all of that pales to the love she has for her husband and their two children Mayday and Benjy.

Mary Jane is the poster girl of how a good supporting cast member elevates a superhero story and WHY they're so important. Hell, MJ was written so extremely well and is such a good character that she basically took a life of her own and became the deuteragonist of Spider-Man comics! No matter what Marvel editorial may think or say, Mary Jane is as crucial a part of Spider-Man mythos as aunt May or uncle Ben.

A driven woman, MJ has an expansive career. From go-go dancing in clubs to pay the bills and her acting classes all the way to the several positions she holds today, she is a modern-day renaissance woman. Mary Jane designs clothing for her personal brand "MJ's", as well as Spidey merchandise for her "Spider Shoppe" locales. She also renovated one of The Vulture's old bases into the nightclub "Jackpot", now a center of the Manhattan clubbing scene. Nowadays she doesn't star in as many movies or soap operas, but her performances in Cleopatra, Secret Hospital and even Lobster Man are well-remembered (together with her modelling career, they have made her the covers of Models Inc. and HER Today magazines several times).
