Hello! I was wondering if you have any tips for someone interested in practicing both Hellenic and Norse/Heathen polytheism.

I’m interested in both but am unsure how to go about incorporating heathenry into my pre-existing Greco-Roman based practices

Hey there, Nonny, thank you for the interesting ask! (Adding "read more" due to length)

When it comes to worshipping multiple pantheons, just in general, I feel it's always important to first address your beliefs on multiple pantheons. Are you Omnist, where you believe there is truth to every religion just about? Are you a syncretist, where you believe there is only one or a few pantheons and the gods simply go under different names? These sorts of beliefs are important to address before moving forward, as it can heavily impact your practice, depending on what answer you come up with.

Outside of all that, I think the biggest thing is doing research on ancient Norse history, culture, and religion. My friend, @broomsick , has a lot of great resources on historical Heathen practices. They are one of the most well-read people I've ever spoken to regarding this topic and they can answer just about any question you have, from what I've both seen and experienced. I highly recommend asking them for resources on ancient Norse heathen culture and religion. There, unfortunately, is not nearly as much information about Norse mythology as there is about Greek mythology, mostly due to the fact that it was a largely verbal practice for the Norse and they didn't write things down often, but with the information we do have, you can at least learn a little bit about what culture and religion were like for Norse heathens.

A big thing to pay attention to while researching is differences in culture. For the ancient Greeks, culture massively impacted their practices and worship, and I would not doubt that the ancient Norse heathens were the same way, in that regard. Understanding the ancient culture will aid you significantly in also understanding the Norse deities that came from said culture (this is also true for Greek gods, or any pantheon, really). It will give you a better idea of how to approach them and even what may be considered taboo. A good example is that oaths were a HUGE thing in ancient Norse culture. To break an oath would be to become an oath-breaker, and that is the absolute WORST thing anyone could possibly be (maybe with some exceptions). Within ancient Greek culture, oaths are not held to the same standard. While it's certainly not a good thing to break oaths and promises, it wouldn't make you into someone that could never be trusted again, nor would it likely see you shunned for the rest of your days. The ancient Norse took oaths far more seriously than the ancient Greeks which is a notable difference in their cultures; this tells you that Norse gods will likely take oathing much more seriously and may be stricter about maintaining any oaths you make.

On top of all this, respect the fact that these deities come from separate histories. Even if you decide you are a syncretist, it is still important to respect that these deities were, at one point, separately worshipped by very different communities with varying beliefs. The only thing I recommend with this is to simply acknowledge it as a fact and respect it in your heart. I've found that acknowledging this has been beneficial to me, as it helps me to remember that the Norse deities likely expect different treatment from me than those of my Greek deities, or that they were at least treated differently in the ancient past.

Another thing to keep in mind, and something I've noticed, is that epithets don't seem to be as big of a thing in Norse heathenry. I still very much use them, and I see other modern worshippers doing the same, but overall, I have noticed that epithets don't seem to carry the same weight, at least not for the same reasons. As I said, they are still used, but rather than invoking a hyper-specific aspect of that deity or identifying who you are specifically speaking of, it seems that Norse deity epithets are meant more as respect and acknowledgement of a deity's power and status. Odin the All-father, Loki the Father of Lies, Freyr the Great General of the Gods - to me, these seem to acknowledge the power, accomplishments and status of these deities rather than their specific domains and aspects. Naturally, there are Norse epithets that acknowledge specific aspects, but knowing what I know of ancient Norse culture, I feel it is more with the intentions that I described above.

One last point I'd like to make is that I often see this stereotype floating around the pagan community that Norse deities are hyper-serious, especially in comparison to other pantheons (specifically in comparison to the Greek pantheon). This is, as mentioned, just a stereotype. Frankly, the Norse deities I've encountered have all been extremely kind, patient, understanding, and, believe it or not, fun to be around. Thor, for example, gave me this awesome "big brother" energy when I first encountered him. I felt like I could be myself and joke around easily with him. As another example, Loki has been tons of fun for me. They know how to cheer me up when I'm sad and have been an extremely comforting presence in my life. Of course, different deities will react differently, as is true for even different people, but overall, I find this weird ass stereotype to be entirely false, and I'm unsure where it stems from. You have nothing to be worried about when it comes to the supposed "hyper-sternness" of Norse deities.

I feel that's all the advice I can give without making this far longer than it already is. Genuinely, I advise seeking out @broomsick ; I know I mentioned them before, but they have been a massive help to me in my own personal journey with Norse deities. Remember that, regardless of the panteon, I always recommend being yourself with your deities and worshipping in a way that makes you feel comfortable. You don't have to be extremely serious and formal, if that doesn't make you happy. You also don't have to be extremely loose and informal, if that doesn't make you happy. Worship in the way that makes you comfortable because, just as with ancient Greece, many Norse clans (hope that's the correct term) worshipped differently from one another, and there were often contradicting beliefs between them all. There is no one way to worship or one correct answer; there is no set of rules you MUST follow. Worship the way you wish; it is your practice, after all, and no one else's.

here’s some things i noticed/wondered/loved:

- i think in that scene where tom is on the ground yelling for sonic, he is wearing a special forces suit. maybe he upgraded from cop to working with gun?? if so i think that’s a really good use of his character actually! he wanted to save a life and raise a family above all else yes, but he still got his previous dream of doing more serious cop work!

- shadow just. has a big ass portal?? like holy shit he’s just suckin the life outta earth and ig that’s one way to do it (or maybe it’s just a ring and i’m stupid idek)

- i’m sure we’ll learn more about this in the actual movie so i’m not too worried, but i’m super confused at the very beginning scene. apparently sonic didn’t change his heart…but he did tho? like he learned what being a true hero meant in the last movie. tbh i feel like that’s enough but hey i’m not against more character development for our boy so!! (also that bit where he’s like “in my lungs” was actually really funny to me, ben schwartz’ awesome delivery caught me off guard)

- GERALD ROBOTNIK ALIVE HUUUUH?! tbh i would’ve preferred if maria was alive, i feel like that would be an interesting dynamic. but also ig that would make it harder for shadow to learn anything so i totally get it. anyways i’m just glad they’re putting a little twist on the story, it keeps it interesting. they already sorta did that with the knuckles and iblis thing actually! (even if that show sucked ass and although that probably wasn’t intentional 😭)

- even tho bro only got like… 3 lines, i really think keanu fits shadow. he’s very soft spoken in comparison to the rest of the case which feels nice. also he’s like the “really bad” guy so ofc he’s not gonna be yappin on and on like sonic or robotnik and he’s gonna take things uber seriously.

- where was my girl maddie :( i think she was only in like a singular frame. hope shes in the movie a somewhat significant amount. i heart pretzel lady!! could live without wade tho like pls im so sick of his bowling soap opera 💀

- FAT ROBOTNIK FAT ROBOTNIK FAT ROBOTNIK!!! after fucking 3 movies they finally fulfilled jim carrey’s wishes!! let the man get creative like please i love jim carrey sm aughdfhfnfmschxj. also love how we got so much stobonik content within that short scene like jesus come get y’all’s food

- shadow at one point says something along the lines of “when we’re done, there won’t be anything left.” maybe i’m reading WAY to into this but what does the “we’re” part mean?? is he working with others? i feel like this is either gonna be team dark or some new movie exclusive character(s). edit: someone made a valid point that he’s actually probably referring to gerald (look at reblogs!)

Have been actually shocked by the takes of Louis and Armand’s relationship dynamic that I have been seeing in which people act like Armand’s subservience is manipulative and evil.

As someone who was also a victim of grooming in my youth (though obvs not like Armand level of traumatic events bc good lord that boy cannot catch a break) I always found Armand to be a really compelling character, and I loved how they were handling the psychological impact of his abuse on his relationships within the show and they all felt very relatable to a degree. I was like mind blown by the way they handled how Louis and Armand’s pasts related to each others and thought it was super clever and it made me go “holy shit” in a way that a tv show hasn’t made me go in a long time. Though I can see where some of the takes are coming from, it has been really disheartening as a victim of grooming to see people dismiss Armand’s behavior when he’s with Louis as purely a form of manipulation on Armand’s part or a fun silly sex thing 😭😭😭

YES ANON FR!!! also very disheartening and genuinely offensive to me how some ppl talk about Armand and his trauma (also am a victim of grooming lol). I’ve talked about this before, but the way ppl r saying with their full chests that Armand is being manipulative in his trauma responses is like actually fucked up, and it’s low key triggering to me 😭. Just bcus armand manipulates ppl doesn’t mean he is *always* manipulating ppl omfg 💀💀 some nuance pls I beg of u.

to me it seems very clear that Armand falls into subservience and behaves as the victim bcus the abuse he experienced was the closest he ever felt to feeling like he understood what he was doing and understood what he was needed for. For a lot of victims of grooming their abuse can cause them to feel safe in those types of abusive dynamics bcus it’s familiar to them, which def seems to be how it is for Armand. Armand feels constantly lost and confused and by being a slave again he returns to a time where he knew what he was, when he had someone there to tell him what he was. And it comes off very clearly to me that Louis sees this in Armand when Armand tells him about his trauma and (as he’s also in a vulnerable position) realizes that he can use Armand’s pattern of submitting to servitude to his advantage. Which!!! That is objectively fucked up im sorry 😭 and I’m tired of being in a fandom where ppl r acting like just bcus Louis is a likeable sympathetic character and Armand does mistreat Louis also, that means Louis isn’t capable of mistreating Armand. Bcus it sounds like when ppl make those excuses that they r saying sexual exploitation like that is ok 😭. Just bcus Armand agrees to and participates in it doesn’t mean Louis isn’t knowingly exploiting the trauma of a vulnerable person 😭 and it doesn’t make it ok. Like we can find it fun and sexy, but the “face down in the coffin” scene was still borderline non con sensual 😭 yknow what I’m saying? You can like Louis as ur fav and discuss how Armand is shitty to him without acting like it’s ok for Louis to pretend to be Armand’s abuser as he orders him around like an animal so he’ll do what he wants. This is an incredibly complex dynamic with two very fucked up characters who hurt and abuse each other out of fear, and some of u can’t handle that nuance 😭.

and I understand not being able to grasp the nuance of Armand’s character, it took me like a year to fully wrap my head around him. He’s got a lot going on and it’s hard to understand why he behaves the way he does, especially if you haven’t experienced sexual trauma or grooming. But just like, y’all have to remember that it can come off as pretty shitty and bad faith to interpret a character like this as always being evil all the time. Ur reducing someone very complex and ur making some borderline offensive (also borderline racist but that’s a different rant) implications

hi rafa! i finally got past my initial fear of a&m and finally read it, yay! (i really didn’t want anything bad to happen to rosier so i kept putting off the book lol) and holy fuck ur pen game is insane, the way u handled such heavy themes like grief and war and the overall body horror that plagued the characters was amazing, it’s so well done i couldn’t have expected anything less. one of my favorite parts was when the watchers first got to earth and azazel (the love of my life) had that brief conversation with naamah about birth and motherhood. it made me giggle a little bc when i was in middle school i once suggested to my religion prof (i’m a mexican catholic school survivor 💀) that god was our mother bc he made us and birthed us and it got me into so much trouble that i was forced to read the psalms every day during mass for an entire week.

this got crazy long but i just wanted to let u know that this validated the thoughts of my 13 year old self so thank u for that! i hope u have a nice day <3

hello! the rosier comment is actually so funny because i was telling someone 2 days ago that im always afraid of him coming across as a punching bag just because he suffers quiet a bit in the story. if it makes u feel better, he is mostly happy with his life in a&m (which im sure u read). He has his very sad moments (like his chapter with asmodeus) but he is mostly content with life.

(And I'm happy you like Azazel :') ) The scene with Naamah and Azazel is actually one of my favs! The motherhood of God is so fascinating to me. Lazytown Shenanigans Pt. 9

Oh no she's back...

Well... It's been a while, I should say. I haven't been making any Lazytown Shenanigans posts mostly because I haven't watched the show at all all this time, but now I'm kinda at it again (I don't know for how long tho, but still)

I've watched three episodes in these three days, but I would like to describe my impressions of only one of them: the "Purple Panther" one. I don't really feel like rambling about all of them, plus my current mental condition just doesn't allow me, so I hope you buddies understand me 😭

But the "Purple Panther" episode made a really good impression on me, so I can't help but talk about it at least a little bit. Ok well not a little bit, this post is going to be very long (and pretty emotional in some parts), so bear with me I guess :/

"Purple Panther."

The very first thing I'd like to point out is that for some reason it was in this episode that I first noticed the view of the town from above:

Compared to how empty the landscape seemed, for example, in the "Rockin' Robbie" episode, the surroundings here look pretty fascinating; I mean we can see a lot of things here, from numerous reservoirs to Robbie's lair. I legit want to live here

The next thing that kinda amused me, though it rather touched me, was that Sport rejoices in every little thing happening around. The sun came out from behind the clouds — he is happy and laughing. A rainbow appeared in the sky — he is happy and laughing. Be like him guys and enjoy every little thing in your life 🕺

The scene in which Ziggy visited Stingy also amused me a little bit; mostly because of their interaction and damn, the way Stingy said "gold" just sent me to another dimension (though I think it happened later after their meeting, but whatever I don't remember already). What was that "GUULD" buddy like 😭

Also this painting on his wall seemed kinda creepy to me (not creepier than Ziggy's face on this frame but whatever 💀):

Who's that odd man? Why is his image hanging on Stingy's wall? Could it be that this is an image of his father? Because as far as I remember his father is rich, and there are bags of money around the man in the painting. I'm overthinking things too much again

I was a little confused by the lack of a museum in the town to be honest. Like this little bunch of kids had to arrange everything themselves, and yet they didn't have a museum all this time before this event. What was Milford thinking? As mayor he had to make sure that there was something remarkable in the city bruh. He was too busy simping for Bessie apparently

Since I mentioned Bessie, I remembered one minor scene that kinda... surprised me at first?? When she brought her very first telephone and started dialing a phone number on it she started with 555, and I honestly thought that she's going to call Robbie because his phone number starts with 555 😭

Holy smokes I didn't really want to inject any negativity into this post (because I have enough of it in real life atm), but Stingy stunned me a little in a bad way: the bro climbed the stairs to pick up the town clock, of course for personal reasons, fucked up with his "mission," then he was saved by Sport and after all this sloppiness HE ASKED HIM TO GIVE HIM THE CRYSTAL? THE BRO GOT TOO IMPUDENT LIKE WHAT THE HECK-

But that's not all; why in the world did Sport actually give him the crystal.. My boy, this beeping thing on your chest is warning you of people in danger, and that goofster has already had a bad experience with your crystal and like... life doesn't teach you anything huh? I can't blame him because he's sweetly silly and naive, but considering that the person he entrusted his crystal to is Stingy, I don't quite understand why he did it so easily. Even if that was for the sake of the museum.

A couple of words about ROBBIE MY GOOFSTER I haven't rambled about him for so long.. The bro was watching sports elves as usual, even when all the interesting actions were over, but yeah, we cannot blame him for that ok? I like how he sees an opportunity to dedicate his day to Sport and kids in every event that happens outside. The true simp acquires his regalia for a reason /j

Now let's talk about the actions in the museum. I quite liked the paintings and exhibitions there, although some of them looked kind of creepy, like this one:

But I have something to say about good-looking things. I think glasses suit Milford:

I mean if they had left the glasses as his permanent accessory, he would've looked a lot more mayorish (this isn't even a word but WHO CARES, you know what I mean) than he was originally. And Bessie looks like my grandmother when she was younger, and it makes me feel a certain type of joy 🥹

Not far away from the topic of the mayor, I did not fucking expect that that bronze statue of Milford was not a statue at all but GODDAMN ROBBIE IN DISGUISE. I always thought like haha, stupid Lazytown citizens, they're so easy to fool just by dressing up as another person, but this time this goofster was able to trick even me that's it 😭

From that moment on I completely forgot to take any screenshots because what happened next legit short-circuited my brain

That scene. That scene. In which Robbie tries to steal the crystal. My brothers and sisters in Christ, my vocabulary is not enough to describe my delight when I watched all these manipulations. I feel like I'm about to blow up because WHAT HAHNDNEJEJEKWKWK HOLY SMOKES THAT WAS SOMETHHIIIIIING IT SCRATCHED MY BRAIN IN THE RIGHT PLACE

I DIDN'T FUCKING KNOW THAT HE COULD MOVE LIKE THAT. BRO IS SUPER LAZY BUT HE MOVES LIKE A SNAKE HEHEHHEHEHEHH I'M SO GIDDY SORRY I'M AN INADEQUATE PERSON

But that's not all oh noooo no no. First of all, he ohoohho kissed the crystal when he finally got it. The crystal, which is a part of Sport. No I'm not overthinking things again, you're just imagining it. /j /silly

Second of all, his second disguise was so silly at first, but when he began to talk it sent me to another dimension AGAIN. French accent. Wow huh I- ummm.. it made me feel a certain way — giddy again I suppose, because I was smiling like an idiot every time he said something. I just genuinely love it when he imitates all sorts of accents, like French, Scottish, or Russian (when he says "brilliant" with that rolling "r" my brain starts buzzing heehee 🥰)

I'm pretty sure this is one of my absolutely favorite disguises of his from now, his silly moustache just won my heart ngl

Damn I really sound like I'm a crazy goof but whatever. It's not like someone reads it till the end so I can probably say whatever I want lmaoo

Ok I really need to get a more constructive kind of narrative again, I really probably sound like a freak. I was somehow surprised that Robbie started jumping rope on his own will, justifying it by saying that he thinks better that way. Hmmm ok ok mister, we, of course, will believe it. I just really didn't understand why he started doing it, except that he probably needed to ruin the exhibits in some way lol

Without going far away from the topic of my favorite sillies, it was somehow hard for me to watch how difficult it was for Sport to grab an apple. My boy struggled so intensely that he even gave up a couple of times... Don't get me wrong, I really like Robbie and his goofiness, but all those mean things that he does to Sport make me feel kinda sick sometimes. Poor Sport doesn't deserve any of this shit; the boy's too sweet too kind too nice to be tortured :(

I'll probably omit all the other details about the chase scene because this post is already too long, but I want to point out one thing from the final scene.

Sport forgave Stingy and said that 'it's alright to make mistakes as long as you learn from them,' and it clearly was directed towards Stingy, but dear... It was, uh, your own fault to give the crystal to Stingy in the first place because such a situation already happened in the past, and you very obviously haven't learned a lesson from it. Stingy has some blame on him, of course, but Sport is an adult man and he should've realized that if he gave away his crystal it wouldn't end well. So he was the one who made a mistake imo..

Well, that's kinda it. This post came out long and in some parts inadequate again, as usual, so I doubt that someone will read it till the end. But if someone did, thank you heehee :33

director's commentary on Trophy please 👀👀

Oh gods where do I even start-- my magnum opus, my beloved, the every-horrible-thing-I-could-think-of-happens-because-no-one-stopped-me (and boy did my best friend try) fic

This was so long I'm sorry-- as you can see, I always want to talk about this fic but have ✨anxiety✨. When asked about it though-- it's what my brain needs to allow it lmao. I do hope you enjoy :)

The first line was originally (as a thought) "I deserve this" , this was scrapped because the concept became irrelevant in later drafts (and now it may become relevant again-- who knows). The first bit before it cuts back to the race was originally the first of a back and forth kind of flashback thing. ex. chapter 2 would have taken place in the present with hints as to what happened, and chapter 3 would directly follow the events of chapter 1. If the way I explained that didn't make much sense-- that should be enough to show why this has since been changed💀

A single step away– but in the corner of his eye; a flash, a blur— and Zoom tackled him off the magnetar.

This was very intentional. I specifically wanted to mention just how close Barry was to winning as he did in canon. Makes everything that happens next all the sweeter, to me :)

There are many parts and lines that are going to hit so much harder later on and that's all I'll say about that matter for the moment.

“You really thought you could defeat me?” His low whine turned into a howl as Zoom pressed harder on an evidently broken rib. “Forgotten I’m the fastest man alive?” Zoom leaned further down and Barry bit his cheek to prevent a shriek. “Don’t worry.” Tone laced with venom, he wrapped a hand around Barry’s windpipe. Zoom’s mask was inches from his face, blocking the breach. “You’ll have plenty of time to remember.” He clawed at the hand desperately, struggling for air. 

This is one of my favorite scenes ngl. I wrote this whole excerpt after rewatching the Enter Zoom scene and wrote nothing else for the rest of that night lmao. Tis where you get the parallels between those first two lines and ones in that episode "You really thought you could defeat me?" is just slightly changed from "{Harrison Wells}, you thought you could defeat me {with this}?" And as I type this, I have discovered another layer to that parallel that is extremely relevant to the story. Holy shit this is awesome (I will not be saying. spoilers.) ANYWAYS; the other parallel line. "Forgotten I'm the fastest man alive?" comes from "Never forget, I am the fastest man alive." I love parallels. Let's just say that Zoom is very irritated and a little offended that Barry seems to think he {Zoom}'s less powerful than he is. May need a couple more reminders...

Knew I needed another really bad injury besides the broken rib to both bring the Enter Zoom parallels to a climax, and to make the next scene/s work. I thought "Hey! Speedsters can't run if their leg is broken!" and that was that.

“Now you can watch your precious multiverse die. Knowing you’re the one who destroyed it.”

This might be my favorite line and it is the only anything from the first draft of chapter 1 that made it to the final draft. Also I wrote it at 5 am because of course I did.

Somewhere behind the two speedsters, there was a scream

The person who screamed will not be revealed in this fic but I do know who it was and there is an in-universe reason for it besides simply directing the attention away from Barry. I wrote a companion piece off of that reason-- may post it if I feel like cleaning it up a little. But for now, feel free to theorize :)

And finally, to round out the chapter 1 fun facts and commentary-- something I've wanted to say since that fateful day it was posted.

Around 50% of chapter 1 was written on March 14th from 5-11 pm with no food, no water, and no bathroom breaks. I had the power of whump and the speedforce on my side and I was DETERMINED to post it on Barry's birthday and it fucking worked.

What’s your favorite arrow shot in a comic? Can be Clint’s or Ollie’s or both, can be a trick arrow or a normal one that looks cool or one that they just did a cool thing with (personally I’m obsessed with that one panel where Clint shoots an arrow into a barrel of a gun)

So my fav from Clint isn’t necessarily flashy BUT what I like about it is that it shows his development as a character and how smart he actually is. In Avengers #174 from 1978 Clint and other avengers are up against The Collector, right? Here’s the thing though, The Collector stumbles because he totally undermines Clint and thinks he’s is kind of worthless

It ends up biting him in the ass pretty hard considering Clint snags his weapon from him fast, making catching the archer pretty futile and then my FAVORITE, where Clint realizes that he isn’t alone. That he has a team right behind him. Under extreme pressure (ie a burning metal wall literally crushing him) he makes an impossible shot and crunches those angles real fast in his brain with an arrow that had electricity stored in it and it hits the control releasing the rest of the Avengers to help save the day and ALSO stopping the Collector.

It would have been Secret Invasion #7 when Clint picks up the bow after Kate gets really hurt and Vision whisks her off, but Clint shooting those Skrulls haunts him, especially since they were dressed as his friends and loved ones. So it makes him picking up the bow again bittersweet, but…. Without the psychological effects

i guess she was less clingy and a little more tolerable but still... the problem here was that this girl liked me.....

there were a lot of reasons that make me pissed off remembering to this day but that's sort of unrelated here (for context just know that I disliked her from the near beginning) so onto the main story

So this girl would always ask for hugs from me which I was okay with at first (she did it to everyone ig) but eventually I stopped letting her hug me because I got tired of it and I don't really like hugs to begin with.

but still, she was weird about physical touch...i remember this one time where she kept touching my arm when I was wearing a short sleeve and she was saying stuff like "wow you're so muscular" (IM NOT BTW??? LIKE BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY IM AVERAGE ASF) like okay that was creepy ngl.... i still didn't think anything of it back then though which was stupid of me because I should've connected all the dots

also she kept complimenting me all the time which was mildly uncomfortable but yeah couldn't do anything about that ig

eventually i started hanging out with other people and avoided this girl to the best of my ability until the end of the year because by that time I was thinking "oh whatever I'm going to transfer anyways" so i stopped caring since i thought it would be over soon

yeah so on the last day she was VERY clingy since she knew I would transfer (I did let her though since I was thinking "oh its the last day and I'm never coming back so whatever. cant be that bad. ill forget about it later" and honestly that was a big mistake)

so school hours officially ends and we're at the gate of the school. and this girl physically WONT LET ME LEAVE. she was hugging me and refusing to let go but at that point I was like "oh who cares ig". she probably made me stand there for like 10 minutes istfg 💀but then here comes the terrifying part

she suddenly lets go and looks me dead in the eyes and asks for me to kiss her on the cheek (I think? i kind of forgot the exact phrasing by now). i gave her a weird stare (more like a horrified stare cause wtf.) and she just looked away in embarrassment and went back to hugging me and by this time I was like "oh hell no get me out of here". maybe a minute later she suddenly kisses me on the head and leaves

LIKE OKAY WHAT...

THAT WAS AT THE FRONT GATE. PEOPLE SAW. i wanted to disappear and never come back...like i dont know if she had the wrong idea that i liked her back but what the fuck......it was just so unnecessary....

for the rest of the day i did not feel well about this ☠☠☠

anyways remembering that still annoys me to this day like okay maybe if i had been an asshole and said no to her last hug i couldve prevented that

thankfully the people in my new school are actually sane like holy shit what kind of a traumatizing school did i accidentally enroll in for a year

havent met anyone clingy ever since but I'm never intending on letting anybody hug me ever again unless I trust them

Leaving the DSP fandom is such a wise choice. The elitism on one hand of all the people shipping the toxic ships (which theyre totally allowed to do but holy fuck are they obnoxious and condescending) and then on the other hand all the rampant death-threats-loving antis. I left as well, but regrettably much later than you. Sometimes I miss drawing my blorbos but it's a fair price to pay 💀

From the elitist attitude's I seen during the time I stayed in there, most of them came from sat*ivl*s shippers for the most part and I remember some going ballistic when ppl say they don't ship STNIVL (I remember saying I shipped Satalil but then I got semi anon hate complaining about to me how bad lil is which made me ended up shipping them even more) And ofc there was also the critical anti DSP blogs that also... existed for quite some time (And good lord they were also incredibly awful for attacking everyone and anyone in the fandom who dare ship their NOTPS and any problematic pairings in existence)

But now I think the elitist attitude got much more worser and annoying in the growing 2020s since I'm seeing not just STNIVL shippers but others being S*lW*da shippers as well... Which in the past despite me severely hating the ship (And still do) and staying far far away from their fans, they did had some mature sane fans I'll have to admit and they never start any shipping wars/stayed in their own lanes. But nowadays from what I've seen, lately they're starting to get annoying when other non shippers say they don't ship them (I even remember sometime last year while browsing for samewada content on twt, I've seen them going "those who hate on s*lw*da are automatically boring people. Samewada is too vanilla and boring, they will never survive while s*lw*da shippers are powerful" and while I'm aware it's a joke(???) idk it just still reeks of elitist vibes. Seeing that annoyed me so I blocked them on sight. They used to not be like this in the past but I guess times got even more worser

And yeah, I agree that anyone can ship whatever ships they want, be it healthy or unhealthy/problematic ships. (It's fiction afterall) I just wish some shippers didn't act like they're better than everyone and put other ships down to make their ship look like "it's number one, it's the norm and everyone should ship this" which is a huge pet peeve of mine when it comes to fandoms. That's just going to make more ppl hate the ship with attitudes like that and not only that, it also damages the reputation's image of the fandom of that ship as well.

But yeah those were some of the partial reasons why I left (And also everywhere I went, there were a lot of fans and certain fan contents that really made me highkey uncomfortable to the point where I ended up blocking the entire fandom on tumblr for the sake of my mental being) I also don't want to risk the fandom or the ppl I've blocked finding my art so every once in long a while when I feel like drawing samekichi/samewada or other dsp favs, I don't tag it into the main fandom's tag and just use the character/ship tag only so I don't attract huge audience

Other then that, I don't ever see myself returning to the fandom ever again. Screw the DSP fandom

Little update about what happened last night 

After I finished work we went to my apartment. I told him to make himself comfortable and gave him a beer so he could wait for me. I wanted to take a quick shower. While I was undressing myself he came to the bathroom and started looking at me with an amusing look because I got shy and tried to hide myself. I never thought id be into basic american adult tv buthere we are- I recently got into it, feb 19th i started watching and finished the whole 26 seasons and two games (sot and tfbw) in a month. South park characters have so much detail in their characters, right down to the little things, like cartman having to finish singing sail away or kenny liking oragami, like??? i love the little character details that nobody thinks about hello??

Its so hard to take them seriously with that stupid artstyle (the artstyle has grown on me and i love it sm but still, theyre hella goofy) but seriously some parts cut deep- especially the whole fucking covid thing, never in my life did i think id cry at fUCKING SOUTH PARK ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? I see a lot of angst and it actually makes sense??? And just,, a lot of stan's stuff is really depressing, i hate the episode(s) 'youre getting older' holy fuck. The fact that stan knows how to drive at 8 years old most likely because his dad is an alcoholic who drives drunk too is graaAAA,, I feel so bad for butters too, the innocent child who gets all the trauma dumped on him 💀 none of the kids in south park are safe from trauma, not even 'new kid' (they fr made you choose a parent, dude.....) one of my favorite serious moments though actually is when kenny tries to get them to remember his deaths, the like "TRY AND FUCKING REMEMBER." is so dramatic and im fbedhunfinjecnijef

also cartman being the only one to remember kenny's deaths waa,, Cartmanland he says 'what kenny? he dies all the time' and when kenny tries to make the others remember,, cartman isnt there so á, then cartman isnt shocked when kenny escapes wherever tf cthuhlu sent everyone. cartman did drink kenny's ashes so that could be the reason he remembers epic

also also, i didnt even think about it before until i seen just kenny and kyle at the bus stop, but stan and cartman moving away and just having two of the main four left at the iconic bus stop scene is so upsetting,, I enjoy the older seasons best 💔 Like season 10 and earlier man,, their early seson voices too omg <3 When they started doing season long stories was kind of annoying (edit bc new episode dropped, they put cartman back lmao,, still missing stan though man...)

Switching topics- No wonder style is more popular than stendy, it has more content than stendy even though theyre cannon dating 💀i think cartman and wendy interaction more actually. Wendy's kind of cool and i wish theyd make an effort to show her and stan together more often (even small things like they do with creek) and a few times its even shown how little stan cares, like with the texting thing or the time they broke up for a bit stan had said he hadnt talked to her for weeks... Stan doesnt deserve wendy tbh, i also always forget she killed someone for stan lol, they really dialed her crazy back,,

I probably have more random thoughts but these are the main ones,, the little guys have been doing laps around my brain for a month straight and i feel like im going to explode
