With the Guess the Build crew jokingly asking Skizz if he’s colour blind or if he’s ever taken a colour blind test, I really hope they do make him take one on camera.

Not because I think he’s colour blind (I legitimately think it’s just an object permanence kind of thing) but because I had a phase in 2018 of watching people take colour blind tests and I think it would be interesting.

you know, i always find it really funny when dudebros complain about syndicate and odyssey being too "jokey" or not "taking its characters seriously" or whatever…

like, did y'all collectively sleep through "it's-a me, mario!", "i meant besides vaginas", ezio inventing the latte, bartolomeo's... just... *gestures vaguely* entire character, etc?

like, it's fine to have preferences of course, i myself prefer a more serious and grounded tone, but these are usually the same people who tout the ezio trilogy as "peak assassin's creed", call ac1 a glorified tech demo and hate on connor for being "too serious and boring", like? make it make sense!

alright so now that we’ve gotten some actual crumbs, it feels like it’s a good time to lay out my prediction for what da4 is going to look like. writing this in a letter and mailing it to myself

we are part of an underground organization formed from the ruins of the inquisition to stop solas from ending the world

meanwhile the wardens have been researching the blight/the location of the archdemons and discover some secret about the location of the black city/what is actually contained in it

we’re supposed to be shocked at the reveal that the evanuris are trapped in the black city and the maker doesn’t exist

the ancient elves were in control of some crazy mutating technology (like in hormak) and that was the original source of the darkspawn. the whole thing about them being from the deep roads and a dwarf concern was actually just a red herring, they’re just underground because they’re powered by lyrium and this has ALSO been an elf thing the whole time :)

anyway, now we need to Double Make Sure the veil stays up because the evanuris have something even worse cooking up in the black city and we need to prevent them from unleashing a super blight and destroying all life, and our job is to convince solas to give up, not because we disagree with his plan but because his actions will have unintended consequences. even if he doesn’t care about everyone else and wants to rebuild the world, he won’t even be able to do THAT because the super blight will kill elves too. so although we WERE enemies we will have to band together to defeat the greater threat etc. it will be optional to recruit him as an ally/advisor, or you can just fight him directly and take control of his forces

we will have to cross into the fade AGAIN and storm the black city directly to put a stop to whatever’s going on in there

#i feel fairly confident about this but i hope i’m wrong honestly.#i’m a little disappointed that it’s probably going to turn out to be ‘elves are the most important people and also the cause of everything #and their lore is the Correct one’#i hope to god that they give you the option to fight him and don’t just force you to make nice for no reason lol #ESPECIALLY if this is a new protagonist with no history with him #it’s pretty much the same formula as inquisition and origins. two-step problem where the thing we initially set out to fix turns out to be #the least of our problems and we’ll need to put aside our differences for the greater good #it will probably also come out that the tevinter gods are also an elf thing. like how flemythal can turn into a dragon #and then the archdemons were the original hormak style experiment. or something #and we won’t have an explanation for the maker bc that’s just humans being silly. but see everything has a neat scientific explanation :)#or maybe the maker is like. elgarnan in disguise lmal #i am perhaps being a little ungenerous but also. i feeel in my gut that this is what they’re planning #mine #dragon age #da4 #ghilannain feels like a possible candidate bc of the lore abt how she created halla. but there was that trailer with a mans voice #so it will probably be elgarnan because he’s the head of the pantheon especially now that mythal is gone #GOD i hope that comes up #they’re pulling so much from trespasser. a dlc that wasn’t even the main game and lots of people may not have played #they’d better reference the stinger ending of the actual game and give some resolution to that #maybe it’s going to be like. solas’s plan to take care of the evanuris when the veil comes down is to just absorb them #but we need to convince him that they’ve had time to set other contingencies up so even that won’t stop whatever they’ve started

Submachine 10: the Exit

#submachine #flash #i wanted to put off posting this because. i honestly don't know what to say. but if i do i'll probably just never post it #it's so huge it's intimidating to play like. isn't it bigger that all the other games combined. wasn't this said somewhere #and i haven't replayed it properly because time and energy #but aight i'll ramble about what i remember and everyone'll be free of me sooner #which isn't much. i barely remember the plot. this is my least replayed one too because of [see above]#gotta love revisiting old locations... some of them for yet another time. very fitting for the finale #and it also shows how much the artstyle changed between games which is neat #speaking of which i love the art in this part. it's so detailed and varied and i love how many animated bits there are #the reveal about structures repeating and looping infinitely was amazing and tying to what we already knew so well #i also liked the supercomputer reveal! really cool and fits the series' focus on tech #and also i like the theme of technology and spirituality mixing so there is that. tech advanced enough to seem like magic or religion etc #also the ending! nothing really shows that the game is over like seeing actual people lol #of course there's more to it but that's actually what hit the hardest for me #and that's the end of my submachine posting v_v tomorrow it's back to anime girls or whatever #will come back to skutnik games tho! i still haven't posted daymare town or covert front

My roommate and I are playing Dual Destinies now and we both whooped and cheered when Phoenix slipped on his suit jacket. Is this a universal experience?

#aa:dd #aa5 #mitch plays aa5 #aa5 spoilers #naruhodo ryuichi #phoenix wright #we were so hyped to see him as a lawyer again it was like we were watching an e3 reveal lol #I don't have an opinion on his characterization yet since I just cleared 5-1 but he's not really acting how I thought he would #like the way I imagined him as a lawyer post aj would be a lot like godot. strong poker face with an emphasis on control #but this phoenix just seems to flounder in ways you wouldn't expect him to. because of how developed he is past that point #if that makes sense?#and his character voice is a little off which I was expecting. but in pivotal moments it can really break my focus #the cutscenes are neat. I love cutscenes. honestly a missed opportunity to not include cutscenes in the remastered trilogy

I also still headcanon it being written/read from left to right #So he started with Zelnick then Fwiffo then Tanaka and so on #Although I did change it up for the second one - Teisel then Xelloss then Xigbar then Asch and Van #The more I think of it the more I'm surprised there's no H :0 #Even just as a demarcation of a pause before during or after a syllable #The ''sh'' sound makes complete sense tho hehe <3 #Any incorrect shaping of letters/poor handwriting on my part can totally be chalked up to ZEX not being used to human hands!#Totallyyy lol #I really like the way specific syllables are shaped - like how Teisel and Zelnick almost share the same shaped between ''SEL'' and ''ZEL''#How Z is a more connected extension of S just agh it's so pretty <3 <3 Eco_Mono really did such a lovely job with it ♪#And then certain ''incorrectly'' spelled syllables still turned out so pretty! #omori au #sunnys sonata au #literally the only reason i haven't posted anything about the au in a while is just because I'm losing it over every single character #and most of them aren't even important/canon to omori canon or they just have a miniscule appearance/role #there are so many side characters and jokes With these side characters it's not even funny anymore #i dragged characters from completely different universes that have a tiny tie to omori into the sonata verse bc i thought it would be funny #Little Jack from the old OLD Halkenna verse is in this verse- Omoboy is in this verse- there are characters that had NO screentime in here #there are plots for fights that aren't on the main storyline. there are alternate endings that were literally never touched on anywhere #not even in the disc server where i jot down my ideas #i have aus of aus and literally for what #honestly I think the funniest bits of side plot I've developed have to do with rococo having to deal with sbf making summoning circles #either that or just the clone hearts all roaming around the world being a weird family and also being an obstacle to the main group #everything else is just very scattered development changes and add-ons to characters i already had planned. both main and side characters #Shattered Omori got a very. dark? design change. Hero and Aubrey were both slightly tweaked. The Twins's fused form was HEAVILY updated #that fused form had a lot of notes added to it.. how their emotions work. how they speak. their height. abilities. basically everything #i. actually just have a lot of notes for the twins lol #what can i say. i think they're neat

I kinda wanted to try and start a new Tomodachi Life save file, but I don't want to delete my current one on my 3DS, so off to Citra I go!

Funnily, when I gave Johan's mii his name, the game pronounces it like it's pronounced in the French version with a j sound lol. So ya have to use the pronunciation setting in order for it to be pronounced in the usual way.

Though in my attempt at making him in Tomodachi Collection, I just stuck with the French pronunciation for him and Peewit. His French pronunciation kinda feels more natural to me when transliterating it into Japanese and I feel like Peewit's French name, Pirlouit, would be a bit easier to adapt into Japanese.

#plus i still kinda like to think the french version of johan's name in universe is like a corruption of jehan which is an old french name #and the choice to translate pirlouit as peewit in the smurfs cartoon was a smart move as the names sound similar #and peewit is easier for a monolingual english speaker to pronounce so it's a win win #also i found a copy of the european version online #johan's voice will likely sound much more accurate this way lol #with the accent difference and all that #it's honestly neat how they changed the accent in the us and european versions of tomodachi life #whereas the japanese version uses the same voice from tomodachi collection #which sounds waaaaay more bitcrushed #reminds me a little of the amiga's text to speech from the 80s
