leo valdez x f! reader
cw: dirty talk, teasing, cursing, penetrative sex, semi-public sex (in cabin 9), mentions of breeding
a/n: iñaki is real life leo, I'm so in love with him also: it's the first of da month 🗣
it was summer - a blazing, hot, skin cooking, thigh-sticking, blurry vision filled - kind of summer in the infamous camp half blood.
leo's playlist mixed with loud drilling inside of cabin 9, as he worked on another complicated project. sipping your cold lemonade, you watched your tan, sweaty, shirtless boyfriend work, biceps flexing and eyes scrunched together in concentration - gods, he looked incredibly hot like this, huffing and groaning at how physically challenging whatever it was he did. obviously your mind started to wander, nibbling on the straw you thought about his head in between your thighs a couple of days ago. oh! or the day before, when you got frisky in the spring but the nymphs caught you... your hands were tangled in his curly hair while he licked and bit your bottom lip...
(y/n)... you loved the way he said your name in that husky voice, deep in thought, you pressed your thighs together for friction. "(y/n)!" leo's voice caught you by surprise, his body was turned away from his project, towards you, with a raised eyebrow. "oh! sorry, I was..." you trailed off, too embarrassed to finish your sentence, you just asked what was up, hoping he wouldn't notice. "what were you thinking so hard about? definently not something you do often." he smirked, of course he noticed. "nothing. oracles. prophecy, maybe?...wait, you-!" he let out a chuckle at your obviously fake answer and made his way to where you were sitting, leaning close to your face.
"hmm..." his breath fanned against your face and you felt him study the flustered expression on it. trying to shift your focus on the song playing instead of the whirling warmth spreading in your stomach, you turned your face away. "y ahola lo grito, quiero ganar much o más zeros, y disfrutar de lo que tengo". feeling a finger underneath your chin, you locked eyes with leo's. pupils blown, pink lips stretched into an amused grin. "and now, are you thinking about omar apollo?" he tsk'd and moved his mouth next to ear, whispering in a low tone; "no, estás pensando en follarme." he kissed the place right below your ear, "right?"
the situation was so intense, sitting on a random bed inside the cabin, you were shaking, panties soaked, with his arms trapping you. trying to hold the eye contact you replied, "what does that mean?" earning you the reward of a soft, low laugh by your boyfriend. "let me show you, princesa."
leo pressed his lips against yours immediately, pushing against your shoulder softly to make you lay down. he was so absorbed in the taste of your lips, catching them again and again with a soft "mhm" sound. dark curls tickled your forehead everytime he shifted his face to kiss you differently, his curious demeanor not leaving him even in bed - a little moan left you, touched by his enthusiasm. leo smiled against your lips with a quiet hum, "pretty." one of his hands started caressing your stomach, snapping the band of your shorts with a finger teasingly. giggling, you wrapped your hand around his wrist and looked up to your mischievous lover. "leo, we can't! not here...", leo fake-pouted in response, "oya, you think I can't be quick?" he cocked his head with such confident attitude, it made you grind your hips up into his. with that, leo sneaked his hand down your shorts to grab your panty-clad ass, moving you against his dick in a self made rhythm. you could feel the outline of his cock through your clothes, the way his head pressed perfectly against your clit with every thrust. you arched your back off the bed, ridding yourself of the shorts and panties in desperation. hearing them fall to the ground, you snaked your hands behind leo's neck, pressing him closer. your boyfriend moaned at the feeling of your naked and pulsing pussy against his sweats, he could feel the way you were soaking the fabric as you moved against him.
biting his lower lip, you moved your hands to his crotch, trailing the outline of his dick in a torturous manner until he threw his head back with an annoyed groan. "f-fuck you." he spat, in a joking way of course, and pushed his hand down his sweats to pull out his aching cock. pre was running down his shaft leo was so hard, his cock sprang against his abs, leaving a sticky trail between the head and his blushing skin. wrapping his calloused hand around it, he made you watch while he fucked his fist, milking the pre to drip down on your lower stomach, quietly moaning into your ear above you. noticing you spread your legs almost instinctively, leo grinned boyishly before moving a pillow below your hips, "whose is this?" you ask, cheeks flushing. your boyfriend shrugged and went back to the task at hand - he positioned his head at your weeping pussy and flourished at the feeling of your heartbeat against his dick. he moved it up and down between your lips, collecting all the wetness you produced for him and plunged in deeply. overwhelmed by the sudden fullness, your mouth fell into a silent "oh", you arched against him and cried out.
"my pretty baby, 'm sorry, tuve que - I had to." the demigod tried to soothen you, running his hand down your ass softly. though he was barely off any better, his cock buried in your tight, greedy pussy, pulsing and milking him mercilessly. it took all of him to not fill you up right there and clean the mess with his tongue. leo felt your thighs twitch against his waist and decided to start thrusting, quickly and deeply. the facade of doing this 'with nobody noticing' quickly melted away at the sound of your wetness squelching against his dick and his balls repeatedly hitting your ass. also, leo was definently not the type to tell you "stay quiet", he loved the way you were shouting his name then, screeching to slow down. his spine tingles when you blabber praises at him as he feels you creaming a ring at the bottom of his cock. "mis dioses" the mechanic whispered while watching you fall apart on his cock without warning, so close to your body he could feel it spasm. his eyes rolled back at the feeling of your pussy almost caging him in, growing impossibly tight in an effort to drain him. with the last of his strength, valdez pulled out to cum on your thigh and watched it drip down onto... somebody's sheets.
a couple of hours passed and you laid in the strawberry fields with leo, fanning yourself aggressively to escape any second of heat. your boyfriend was snoring peacefully next to you, until...
"yo, who FUCKED on my bed???"

a secret that changes everything
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: percy jackson x gn!reader
summary: percy finds out that the thoughtful birthday gift he got from his girlfriend, annabeth, has actually been from you, when he overhears a conversation between you & leo
tags: reader tries to salvage percabeth's relationship (while also crushing on percy), percabeth isn't doing so well, annabeth forgetting percy's birthday, worried friend!leo valdez (to reader), overhearing a confession (percy from reader), open ending
a/n: this is no percabeth hate! nor do i condone any annabeth hate in the comments/reblogs!
Tumblr media
things with annabeth haven't been going well recently.
annabeth barely made time for percy and as the two drifted further and further away from each other, it seemed like their relationship would soon come to an end. annabeth hadn't even made time for percy's birthday and their anniversary, only leaving him a present at his cabin. at least percy thought it was from her. until now…
“you're an idiot! tell him–!!”
percy could hear voices outside of his cabin. the loud one was leo, while the other one was…
“sshh, lower your voice! i don't want percy to hear us…”
hearing his name from you, as well as knowing that he wasn't supposed to hear what came next only made percy curious. he made his way to the window, opening it a bit and continued to listen to the conversation outside.
“he should hear us! you can't lie to him like this! if he knew, then–”
“if he knew, then it would break his heart!”
you raised your voice, despite just scolding leo for being so noisey. meanwhile, percy's heart seemed to stop for a moment. break his heart? what sort of secrets were the two of you keeping from him…?
“annabeth is going to break his heart eventually! but you're only making it worse, by lying to him and giving him hope!”
leo now raised his voice as well. percy would've likely heard every word of it, even if he hadn't opened his window.
“you weren't there, leo! you should've seen his face! it was his birthday and annabeth had forgotten about it. not just that, but may i remind you, that it was also the day the two of them first got together? when he saw the present, he just… he assumed it was from annabeth! i didn't have the heart to tell him that it was from me…”
percy's heart sunk. he knew exactly what present you were talking about. a handmade gift, so much love and effort put into it. he thought it was from annabeth, but now he knew that he was wrong. the one it was actually from was you…
outside it had gotten quiet. leo didn't have anything to say. perhaps he had realized that you were just trying to be considerate of percy's feelings. you didn't want percy to hurt even more. that's what this was all about.
“listen…”
your voice was so quiet, that percy would barely hear it anymore. he closed his eyes, concentrating on it as much as he could.
“i love percy… he's my best friend! but he loves annabeth. she makes him happy, so i have to be a good friend to him and do whatever i can to keep them together…”
percy wanted nothing more than to open the window and yell at you.
‘you make me happy!’
but he couldn't do it. he was frozen in place, overwhelmed by his own emotions. he loved annabeth, but knowing what he does now, how could he still feel the same way about her? and how could he still feel the same way about you, after learning that you were willing to put his happiness before your own? how could he see you as just a friend after what was just revealed to him…?

DISTANCE MAKES THE HEART GROW ANGRIER
✸ pairing: jason grace x daughter of minerva! reader
✸ summary: you don’t know anything about jason anymore, except for the fact that you hate him for leaving
✸ warnings: kinda angsty…BUT I SWEAR THERE’S FLUFF AT THE END!! hurt / comfort type, & i think i swore like twice whoopsie
✸ notes: this might be my longest fic yet, hello? i mean, that’s not saying much but STILL
Tumblr media
you didn’t know much about jason grace as of lately. it was true that there once was a time that even the smallest of scratches on his skin weren’t a mastery to you, a time when you knew him better than you knew yourself.
until six months ago, when he disappeared without a trace and left you all alone.
as a daughter of minerva, you’d never had many friend to begin with aside from the two praetors of new rome, for your skills and intellect set you apart from your fellow members of the legion and as leader of the first cohort, you were high up in the ranks anyways.
but now, six months later, you found yourself filling the post of second praetor not because you wanted to, but because you had to. the weight of the world had fallen upon your shoulders in only a fortnight
then, percy jackson had appeared.
you’d given him the position you held graciously, but it did nothing to repair the damage done that caused you to be emotional and physically strung out beyond relief.
you didn’t know much about jason grace anymore, except for the fact that you hated him, and unlike reyna, would not be welcoming him back with open arms when he arrived at camp jupiter as percy said he would.
and arrive he did, aboard a flying warship with three other demigods you’d never seen in your life.
while percy, reyna, and the rest of the legion welcomed them in with open arms, you were nowhere to be found.
jason’s eyes scanned the crowd over and over again and each time failed to find just the face he was looking for.
ever since his memories had been returned, the son of jupiter had been driving himself crazy with anticipation to see you again.
the curve of your soft lips and spark in your eyes; the flex of you muscles as you fought and the amused quirk of your brow when you inevitably won. he remembered it all and he missed it all so much that he thought it just might suffocate him. to him, every minute without you was another minute closer to asphyxiation.
fortunately, even after six months, you were still the same girl he had always known. the same one who would tie her shoe laces with two loops instead of one and always had to step out the door with her left foot first.
the same girl who knew him better than himself, and who he knew just as well.
so when he walked into your typical getaway spot, you couldn’t really say you were surprised.
hidden and tucked away in the corner of the new rome library you sat, a book you could’ve even say the name of propped open in front of you just in case someone came in and you needed to look occupied.
you hadn’t read a word since you’d gotten in there, for your brain was too busy reeling with thoughts about the boy who was now sliding his way through the front door to the library in search of you.
you heard footsteps enter the otherwise pen-drop silent room and darted your eyes to the page of your book, resting your face in your hand and letting hair fall over your face in hopes it might cover you up and by some miracle, conceal your identity.
but unfortunately for you, jason would know you anywhere.
he stopped in his tracks when his eyes fell on you, his darling girl hiding away in a corner, trying to disguise herself from the world. you weren’t in your official centurion getup like everyone else, but instead jeans and a purple camp jupiter t-shirt that exposed the four lines scored across your arm.
four years. four years that you had known jason, and four years that had been stolen from him just like that.
“yn?” he uttered, asking even though he knew for certain that it was you.
you didn’t answer, just flipped the page of the book you weren’t reading. it bruised his heart a little bit, but he expected nothing less ever since your absence at the welcome party.
he walked closer, testing the water in hopes that you’d at least spare him a glance up. when you didn’t even give him that much, he crossed the room fully until he was standing in front of the table you sat at.
“i braced myself when reyna told me you were mad, but i didn’t expect for you to ignore my existence entirely,” he told you after the silence became too much to bear.
with a huff, you snapped your book dramatically shut and looked up at him, avoiding eye contact and making yourself seem as uninterested as you could possibly scrounge up.
for the first time in months, you took in the beautiful sight that was jason grace. he looked almost the same, with his starry eyes and pretty smile. except he was dressed in a eye-stabbingly bright orange shirt that read camp half-blood on it and was seemingly a size too small, considering how it distractingly hugged his biceps a little too snugly.
he still looked like him, but if he was masquerading around as someone he wasn’t. a son of zeus and not jupiter. a quest leader and not a praetor. a teenage boy, not a soldier.
“library’s closed, and you don’t have authorization to override that rule anymore,” you told him bluntly. “or did you forget how to read, too?”
“okay, ouch,” he nodded, shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans to stop himself from fidgeting. but that was the girl he knew: assertive and naturally bossy, for lack of a better word. a true leader, just like himself.
“i’m trying to read, leave,” you mumbled, keeping your eyes off of his.
“i know you’re not reading that,” he rolled his eyes, knowing that you didn’t see it became if you had, he would’ve been chided.
“yes, i am.” you insisted, reopening the book.
“sweetheart,” he sighed, pushing the cover shut again and pointing to the bleary title. “it’s in italian. which if i remember correctly, you don’t speak.”
your cheeks flushed with embarrassment, but you were mad at him, gods damn it, and you were gonna act like it.
slamming the book down, you pushed yourself to your feet and began towards the door, not giving him the decency of another word.
poor jason didn’t know what was going on. he didn’t know why you were acting this way or why he didn’t get the overwhelming joy of you running to his arms like annabeth had percy’s. no, instead you ran off at the mention of him and refused to meet his eyes.
he’d lost six months with you, and briefly lost the memories of all four years of you, there was no way he was going to lose you now too.
the fear of losing you— all of you— for good had a grip on him so tight that it made him catch your wrist with his hand before you could leave, and the touch of your skin against his sent a refreshing shock through his senses. one chance was all he needed to make sure you didn’t slip through his fingers again.
“don’t go,” he said. “please. i— i don’t really know what’s wrong, but i know that i want to and that i want to fix it.”
for the first time again, your eyes met his. but where his were soft and concerned, yours were glassy and inflamed.
“you don’t know?” you glowered loudly, voice echoing in the silent and empty library, eyes holding angry tears. “jason, you left me! and for months, i tried to figure out what was wrong with me that made you do it, until everyone reminded me that it doesn’t matter what i think or how i feel, because there’s people to take care of and responsibilities to handle.”
jason stared at you, all the things he’d planned to say suddenly lost as he processed your broken words.
“and yeah, i know now that it was all juno, but by the time i was told, everything had already changed too much.”
“too much?” he questioned, looking down at you like a wounded puppy and yanking on your heartstrings.
it wasn’t his fault, none of it was. the involuntary leaving, the memories being wiped, the identity shattering feeling of being an amnesiac. it was all juno and her twisted plans and jason was just a victim of it, and you knew that.
but he had forgotten you once, so what would stop him from doing so again? or worse, what if he had gotten all these memories of you back and the fresher version of his mind had decided that you just weren’t worth it anymore? maybe you never were.
you were just protecting yourself, your heart.
at first when he left, you’d prayed every night he’d come back, wished on every shooting star and dandelion. but then you were forced to accept that no, he wasn’t coming back and somebody had to step up. you had to step up.
it hurt so hard to have your life flipped upside down and take on more than you could even imagine, you just couldn’t do it again.
who’s to say that the minute you let him back in, he wasn’t going to be ripped right away again?
“too much.” you restated. “before percy showed up, i was filling your position and holding my own. all while people either asked me what happened to you or looked at me like i was some poor, little wounded deer, and helping reyna keep everything from falling apart, and with fucking octavian breathing down my neck! and the whole time i couldn’t think of anything but you, and your stupid…you!”
you groaned and shoved your face in your hands to hide the tears that had already started falling, the frustration becoming too much.
slowly, jason put a hand on your shoulder and pulled you into his chest, to which you let yourself slowly collapse into his embrace, your hands the only barrier between your face and his chest.
he wrapped his arms around you carefully like he’d done many times before, rocking back and forth as a silent attempt to calm you. he felt a little guilty for enjoying the feeling of you in his arms again, given the circumstances.
“i’m sorry,” you whimpered into the cotton fabric of his ugly orange shirt. “it’s not your fault. and you don’t deserve to be yelled at or ignored. i’m so sorry.”
“it’s okay,” he murmured into your hair. “i’m sorry for letting you think there was ever anything that could make me want to leave you. and, i’m sorry for not remembering everything sooner.”
you must’ve looked pretty damn rough for him to be apologizing that his memories were stolen by a goddess.
“you really remember?” you whispered into his chest, scared that if you said it too loudly the answer might change.
“yeah,” he answered, picking his head up off yours and tapping the back of your head to draw you out of his chest.
you didn’t go far, looking up at him while still in his arms, tear-streaked face and all.
“there she is,” he mused. “there’s my pretty girl.”
the frown on your face deepened at that, purely because your face was surely red and covered in tears, and he decided to compliment it anyways.
“everything? you remember it all?” you sniffed.
“everything.” he confirmed. “like how this is where you go when you’re stressed,” he dipped his head down and kissed your cheek.
“and your favorite color’s light blue,” he kissed your other cheek. “and you prefer mystery books to romance,” your forehead. “and i even remember the time i tied your shoe for you and got kicked in the face in exchange.” your nose.
you were eye-to-eye now, drowning in oceanic blue surrounding his blown-up pupils.
a small giggle passed your lips at the last anecdote, pressing a nostalgic smile onto your lips. “i missed you,” you admitted.
“i missed you too,” he said. “can i have a kiss now?”
you smiled and pulled his face to yours, capturing his familiar and dearly missed lips with your own. after all the fussing and fighting you’d done, he could have as many kisses as he wanted.

Overcrowded
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: You lose Percy in a crowd, and have trouble finding him again. However, he has the perfect way to solve this problem
A/N: sorry about the shortness of this, also let's pretend that demigods can use phones for this one. I think I've used all possible synonyms for "crowd" in this. Feedback is welcome <33
You cursed silently when you found out the mall bathroom had no paper towels. You settled for shaking your hands up and down in the air infront of you, before pulling out your lip gloss from your purse. After reapplying a layer over your lips, you used your elbows to open the door to the restroom.
You stepped out, and were amazed to see a giant mob of teenaged girls excitedly whispering to their friends. They were dressed in various shades of pink, ranging from the pale lilacs to deep magentas. You were stunned into silence, and for a moment, just stared at them.
They weren't here when you entered the bathroom, and they couldn't have just appeared out of thin air.
You snapped out of your daze, and scanned the crowd for a familiar head of permanently messy black hair, but to no avail. You frowned. Where could Percy have gone?
Deciding to satiate your curiosity about the origin of the sudden horde, you approach a middle-aged woman, who you assumed to be one of the girls mother. "Excuse me, but do you know what's happening here?", you gestured at the crowd.
"Oh, they're doing a sort of Meet-n-Greet with the cast of a movie."
"Alright, thank you."
You pulled out your phone and searched through the contacts. You found Percy's and tapped it, then pressed the phone to your ear. A cheery dial tone sounded, which brought a smile to your face.
The phone ringed long enough to make you nervous. Thoughts raced through you head. What if he lost his phone? What if he encountered a monster? What if he got hurt?
Of course you knew he could handle himself, but it couldn't stop your mind form thinking the worst.
After what seem like an eternity, he picked up, and your heart skipped a beat.
"Hello, love!" His voice came form the speaker and soothed your worries instantly. You let out a sigh of relief. "Hey, where did you go?"
"I didn't want to go anywhere, but then a huge-i mean huge-group of girls came outta nowhere, and i got swept up!"
"You're good?"
"Oh yeah, I'm good. Would be better if you were here though." You smiled again. Sweet little idiot with his sweet little words.
"Well, where are you right now?"
"Near a.........um, well, I'll be honest, I don't really know." He paused. You could picture him squinting at a store sign, struggling to read it. "I'm near a Ebino store?"
Okay. Reading store names wasn't going to help.
"Alright, umm, name something near you."
"A potted plant? Does that help?"
"I-no, that really doesn't. Okay, name something-"
"Wait I've got the best idea!" With that, he hung up.
You frowned. What was that supposed to mean? You looked through to crowds again, waiting to see his 'idea' was.
Huffing and tapping your feet impatiently, you debating calling him again, when you saw it.
A ridiculously large, blue helium balloon floated in the air a few stores away. It could have been a coincidence, but you took your chances.
Upon reaching it, you saw your boyfriend holding the balloon with an equally as large grin on his face.
All your annoyance melted away and he enveloped you into a hug. He buried his face in your neck, leaving feather-light kisses on it.
"I'm never losing you again."

Hi!! I loved your aftercare hcs! Could I do a request where the reader is babysitting Estelle for the night since Paul and Sally have gone on a date and Percy comes home and finds reader and Estelle asleep cuddled up together?
girl's night
• the reader babysits Estelle and Percy finds them asleep.
— percy jackson x mortal!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
warnings: none
a/n: hello! What a nice request, I hope I did it justice. 😭 Also, thank you!
It all started with a:
— Yes, Mrs. Jackson. I'll be there, don't worry.
Because it was your chance to gain Sally Jackson's trust. People who know her know that this opportunity is like gold, something not even a god would dare mess up or decline. But beyond that (since she was practically your mother-in-law), you cared about something else: Estelle.
Your boyfriend’s little sister. She was tiny, still unsteady on her feet, but already full of energy, and you loved the idea of bonding with her from such a young age. So, that's how you ended up agreeing to babysit her for a night while Sally and Paul went out on a date, which you thought was admirable and exemplary, that romance never dies even after starting a family.
You wondered for a moment if life with Percy would be like that too. Despite his life as a demigod and the differences between how you two were raised, you could see his dream of living peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. You wanted to believe that when he talked about those hopes, you were included, and of course, you were.
You wished he could be with you, but not even Percy knew you were going to babysit Estelle. You saw him too worried about godly issues and his college graduation, even though he was on break. But you knew that life never stopped and you didn’t mind as long as he let you help, even if it was just by listening.
— Darling! — Sally Jackson exclaimed as she opened the apartment door, and you stood there, mouth agape. She looked stunning in a red dress, reminiscent of that movie "Me Before You." Paul peeked through the door while adjusting one of his funny ties.
— Mrs. Jackson — She chuckled, preferring you to call her Sally, but you couldn’t drop the formalities.
They showed you what there was to eat, talked a bit about Estelle’s schedule, but after that, they just looked at you with a confident smile.
— You'll do great, dear — Paul said, kissing Sally's forehead. You couldn’t understand how they could entrust you with their most precious thing without giving strict rules.
— Her bedtime? — The question seemed funny because they just shook their heads.
— Estelle doesn't struggle much with sleep; it’ll be obvious when she’s tired.
And when they left the apartment, you looked behind you. There she was, waving her tiny hand while giggling.
— It's just us, Estelle — You said, sitting next to her as she kept watching something on TV, something more important than your obvious nervousness.
You wondered if she would just watch the screen the whole time, if you only had to give her snacks when she got hungry and make sure she slept at a decent hour. You were pondering this when you felt a tug on your hand. You looked at her, and she was shaking some coloring pages and a worn-out crayon. Where had she gotten that? When?
She said something you wanted to interpret as, "Let's color, and you'll like it, or I'll tell everyone you're no the one for my brother." Well, maybe not, but it felt like that.
You picked her up and took her to the wooden table where the family usually had dinner, making her comfortable with some pillows to adjust her height. But even then, Estelle stood up and started coloring.
You had your own page and couldn’t remember the last time you colored, so your hand moved a bit clumsily, and being so focused, you didn’t see her hand make you go out of the lines. You looked at her, and she grinned widely, but you knew she didn’t do it on purpose; she was just calling you to see her progress, a scribbled bear with at least five different colors. You smiled genuinely and gave her a thumbs-up, which she took as the best critique of her art.
The night went like that, and you never thought such a small child could teach you so much.
When you made cookies, seeing her face reminded you of the joy in just making them, not so much eating them or how they turned out.
When you watched her favorite cartoons, you remembered what it was like to watch something without guilt or the worry that you should be doing something better or more productive.
When she decided she wanted to dance, you remembered that music could be missing, but never the attitude and good moves.
Estelle ended up holding your hand as you regularly straightened the cushions and rug, making sure nothing was too messy. When you smiled, she did too, and she didn’t let go of you all night.
Finishing up washing the dishes, you looked down to see Estelle next to your feet, sitting on the floor playing with some toys while waiting for you. You stopped to watch her for a moment, seeing so much of Sally in her, but also unmistakable traits of Paul, and in her attitude, you saw Percy. Maybe because he was her big brother after all. Estelle brought her little feet together and touched her toes, lost in whatever a child her age might be thinking when you saw her rub her eyes. That was your signal.
— Estelle — You called softly, and she looked at you with sleepy, shiny eyes. You extended your arms, and she got up to do the same, and you picked her up, rocking her, but she seemed to realize what you were trying to do.
— No — She said clearly. You were startled as she hid her face in your neck, clinging to you. You weren’t an expert, but you knew what it meant, so you sat down with her on the couch, placing her properly on your lap.
— It’s okay — You lied, feeling bad about it even though you knew you had to. You put on a new movie to make her think she’d stay awake, but your trick was to make her fall asleep, though you didn’t plan on falling asleep yourself. You hugged her and got comfortable, the best cuddle ever because she kept holding onto you as you slowly closed your eyes.
You never heard the key in the lock, the quiet footsteps on the floor, nor the warm greeting from your boyfriend, who wasn’t expecting to find you cuddled up with Estelle on the couch, sleeping soundly.
— Babe? — He asked softly, checking to see if you were really asleep. He set the keys down and took off his hoodie, dirtied from some... incidents.
His blue eyes scanned the apartment for his mom or Paul but found no sign of them, leading him to realize why you were there. He walked over to you two with quiet steps until he was face to face with an image no one could take from him. Two of his favorite people, seemingly fond of each other, filled his heart with love, and he kissed both your foreheads. Unfortunately, you woke up, and he couldn’t help but pout.
— Sorry — You mumbled, blurry-eyed and disoriented from your nap, realizing it was Percy. He was smiling, kneeling at your level.
— Percy — You murmured, rubbing your eyes and feeling another weight on your chest, going rigid as you remembered. Your boyfriend noticed your fear of waking her. He extended his arms and picked up Estelle so you could get up normally.
— Having fun without me? — He asked with his sister on his chest, rocking to keep her in the land of Hypnos. You stretched, smiling sleepily.
— There was no way to tell you — He nodded, seeing your phone on the carpet, feeling a bit bad for not being able to carry a phone to stay in touch. He often spent days away, and no one knew where he was, not even you.
— I’ll put Estelle to bed — He whispered, and you nodded, struggling to keep your eyes open in his direction, making him chuckle. Before leaving, he leaned in with his sister in his arms to kiss you.
— Be right back.
You nodded and stood to check the living room. You only had to straighten the cushions and put the chairs back in place before Percy hugged you from behind. At his touch, you hummed, feeling a wave of sleepiness brought on by the calm of having him there, finally safe.
— Hey — He greeted, still whispering, and you rested your head on his shoulder, giving him enough space to plant a warm kiss on your neck. With no immediate response from you, he held you tighter and kissed your cheek, wanting to support you so you didn’t have to put in so much effort.
— I’m okay — You said, realizing what he was trying to do, but he quickly lifted you bridal style, making his way back to the couch.
— Shh, I’ll take care of you. — He soothed while sitting with you, and you wrapped your arms around him, sharing your sleepiness. You rested your head on his chest, and he pulled the blanket from the corner to cover you both.
You sighed calmly, almost falling asleep when you sniffed your boyfriend's shirt once, twice, three times. Groggy, you kissed his cheek and whispered in his ear
— You smell like monster, Percy Jackson — He smiled, and you mirrored it.
— Things got tough — He said slowly, resting his cheek on your head, almost stumbling over words.
— Hmm — You hummed starting to fall asleep, and you both did it.

“okay. on the count of three, we run.” percy said, linking his hand through yours.
“you’re making this more dramatic than it should be.” you sighed.
“well, my beautiful amazing girlfriend takes forever to get in the water. you just have to go.” he said, beginning to pull you forward towards the waves.
“i have to acclimate, percy. you don’t have that struggle.”
he rolled his eyes, smirking slightly. “sounds fake to me. come on, angel, just get in.”
“will it make you stop complaining if i do?” you asked.
“of course. just come get in.” you two were at the edge of the water now.
“that’s what she said.” you suggested, wiggling your brows.
“you’re so dumb…you know that?” percy sighed, bringing you to further into the waves.
“gods forbid i make a joke around you? let me live, dude.” you rolled your eyes for seemingly the fiftieth time that day.
his eyes widened as he turned to you, “dude…?” he pulled you closer to him. “that’s a crazy thing to call me.”
“you’re fine, don’t be dramatic.” you laughed softly, brining your hands to rest around his neck.
he scoffed, “pfft—me? dramatic? how’s this?” without warning, he pulled you down as he fell back into the water. the cold shock brought you back to harsh reality, but percy pulled you back up before you could react too much.
“perseus jackson! what in tartarus is wrong with you?!” you removed the hair from your face.
he just laughed in response, pulling your body against his once more. he dropped his head into the crook of your neck. “still love me?”
“not right now, no.” you mumbled.
“at least you don’t have to ‘acclimatize’ anymore.” he added sassily.
“i’m done with you.” he pressed a kiss to your head in apology.

Why didn’t you tell me?percy jackson x injured reader. (hurt/comfort) Part 2
Tumblr media
part one ✵ part two
✵ synopsis: after a fight on the Argo II, reader tries to hide their injury but Percy is determined to find out what’s wrong… he figures it out, but hopes he wasn’t too late
✵ interest: percy jackson (HOO)
✵ warnings: mentions of blood, pain, loss of appetite, isolation, loss of consciousness, and leo.
MASTERLIST
Consciousness returned like a gentle tide, bringing with it the soft rhythm of nearby breathing. Your eyelids felt leaden, and when you finally managed to pry them open, the infirmary's muted light was a blessing to your sensitive eyes.
Percy was there, but not how you expected. He wasn't slumped in sleep or pacing with worry, he was just... staring. Sitting perfectly still in the chair beside your bed, his sea-green eyes fixed on you with an intensity that made your breath catch.
His jaw was set, hands clasped so tightly together his knuckles had gone white, and you couldn't read his expression. You'd never seen him like this before, caught between anger and something else, something raw and vulnerable that made your heart twist.
When you tried to shift position, a deep ache flared through your side. His eyes tracked the movement, and something in him finally broke.
"Six hours," he said, voice low and rough. "You were out for six hours."
You tried to speak, but your throat was too dry. Without breaking his stare, he reached for the water glass, helping you take small sips. The gentleness of his movements contrasted sharply with the storm brewing in his eyes.
"Percy—" you started.
"No." The glass clicked against the side table. "You don't get to—" He stood abruptly, running both hands through his hair. "Do you have any idea what—" He cut himself off, turning away, then whirling back. "You were bleeding out. Right in front of me. And you didn't say anything."
The last words came out as a shout, echoing off the infirmary walls. You flinched, and instantly saw regret flash across his face.
"I'm sorry," you whispered. "I didn't want to—"
"To what? Trust me?" His voice cracked on the words. "To let me help you? Gods, when you collapsed, I thought—" He broke off again, dropping heavily back into the chair. All the anger seemed to drain out of him at once, leaving something much more fragile in its wake.
"I thought I was going to lose you," he said quietly, not meeting your eyes now. "And the worst part was knowing you didn't even think you could tell me. After everything we've..."
The silence stretched between you, heavy with things unsaid. When he finally looked up, the vulnerability in his expression took your breath away.
"I can't lose you," he admitted, barely above a whisper. "Not like that. Not ever." His hand found yours, tentative at first, then holding on like an anchor. "Next time you're hurt, you tell me. I don't care if it's a paper cut or a broken bone. Promise me."
You nodded, throat tight with emotion. "I promise."
Some of the tension finally eased from his shoulders. He didn't let go of your hand, his thumb tracing absent patterns against your skin. Neither of you spoke for a long moment, letting the quiet wash away the last echoes of anger and fear.
"Annabeth going to kill me for yelling in here," Percy finally said, a ghost of his usual smile returning.
"Probably," you agreed, feeling your own lips curve upward. "Worth it though?"
His expression softened as he looked at you, and that something deeper was back in his eyes. "Yeah," he said quietly. "Worth it."
As exhaustion started pulling you back under, you felt him shift closer, his free hand brushing hair from your forehead with impossible gentleness. The last thing you heard before sleep took you was his whispered, "I'll be right here. I promise."
The next two days in the infirmary blurred together, marked by the steady stream of visitors and Percy's constant presence. He'd only leave when someone else insisted, and even then he'd return looking like he'd barely slept, dropping back into his chair like it was the only place he wanted to be.
"You know," you said one afternoon, watching him fight to keep his eyes open, "your room probably has a more comfortable bed than that chair."
"I'm fine," he insisted, though he was practically slumped over the armrest. "Annie said you might be able to try walking today."
As if summoned, she appeared in the doorway. "Speaking of which." Annabeth crossed her arms, giving Percy a pointed look. "You're not going to be much help if you pass out from exhaustion."
"I don't pass out," Percy protested, but she was already shooing him toward the door.
"Go. Shower. Sleep. She'll still be here when you get back."
Percy hesitated at the doorway, giving you a look as you laughed at the exchange. "I promise not to do anything stupid while you're gone."
"Better not," he said softly, something warm in his eyes before he finally left.
Annabeth checked your bandages, nodding with satisfaction. "Walking should be much less painful now."
The first attempt at walking wasn't exactly graceful. Your legs felt like jelly after hours on hours in bed, and the stitches pulled uncomfortably. But Annabeth was patient, letting you lean on her as you made your way slowly across the room.
You'd barely made it halfway when familiar voices drifted in from outside.
"If you're going to hover, you might as well come in," she called out, amused.
Jason was the first through the door, followed by Leo, their faces lit up seeing you on your feet.
"Look who's vertical," Leo joked at the sight of you.
"Barely," you admitted, grateful for Annabeth’s support as your legs trembled. Jason immediately took that as his cue to support your other side.
"Baby steps," Leo said as you gave him a look, but Annabeth cut in,
“Let’s get you back to—”
"I've got her." Percy was suddenly there, like he'd materialized from thin air. His arm slipped around your waist, careful to avoid your injury as he took your weight from her. "I thought you were going to sleep," you murmured as he helped you back to bed.
"Tried. Couldn't." His voice was low enough that only you could hear. "Kept thinking..."
He didn't finish the thought, but his arm tightened slightly around you.
"Well, now that the gang's all here," Leo said once you were settled, pulling something from his bag, "movie night?"
"In the infirmary?" You raised an eyebrow.
"Come on," Percy sided with Leo. "She's been staring at these walls for days. And we'll keep it quiet." He looked toward the daughter of Athena.
Annabeth sighed the sigh of someone who knew not to fight it, "Fine.”
Once the others were gathered, everyone settled in around your bed. Including Leo perched at the foot with his laptop, Annabeth claiming the extra chair, and Percy back in his usual spot beside you. As the familiar opening credits rolled, you felt some of the lingering tension finally ease from your shoulders.
"Hey," Percy whispered, his hand weaving through you hair before finding hand in what had become a familiar gesture. "You good?"
You looked around at your friends, your family really, and squeezed his hand. "Yeah. I'm good."
His answering smile was soft, private, meant just for you. And as everyone argued about plot holes and character arcs, you realized that maybe getting hurt hadn't been the worst thing.
Sometimes it took falling apart to understand just how many people were there to help put you back together.
By the time the movie ended, you'd dozed off against Percy's shoulder, his thumb still tracing absent patterns against your skin. The last thing you registered was the quiet murmur of your friends' voices and the steady rhythm of Percy's breathing, anchoring you safely in the moment.
You were going to be okay. All of you were. And if hidden injuries caused this, maybe next time you’ll hide a paper cut.

✮⋆˙ y/n’s pov
“some kid killed a minotaur!” a hermes cabin demigod yelled from near the dining pavilion. glancing up from our glasses of soda, annabeth and I turned towards the voice. “he’s a new one!”
we looked at each other, wondering which god couldn’t keep it in their pants again.
suddenly, a few apollo kids ran out from the infirmary towards the arch near thalia’s tree.
“the new kid’s probably clumsy,” annabeth said.
“he killed a minotaur,” I shot back.
“hey, you can be dumb and strong at the same time.”
“uh huh. whose child do you think he is? I bet it’s one of the big three.” I said.
“no way, they have a pact, remember-”
“do you really think they actually follow that, annie?” I snickered at her.
in a while, an unconscious boy about their age was carried into the infirmary. I only caught sight of his black hair, and dishevelled and bloody look. I decided to visit him the next day to check up on his condition.
the rest of the day was spent reading in my cabin, while my sisters tried new makeup products on our brother, which was quite funny, really.
throughout the next week, I left the warmth of my bed to visit the new kid—percy jackson—in the infirmary. he had begun to regain consciousness.
“who are you?” he asked, sharply inhaling a breath.
“oh, hey,” I smiled at him. “i’m y/n y/l/n. daughter of aphrodite.”
“right. daughter of aphrodite. a goddess,” he repeated slowly.
I realised that no one had explained about camp half-blood to him yet, and took that job upon myself after calling out for will and letting him know that his patient was awake.
“so, there’s gods and goddesses. and monsters. and everything in the greek myths you were taught? they’re all real. at camp half-blood, we’re all demigods—the children of a god or goddess and a mortal.” I continued to explain to him how the demigod world worked, remembering to talk about the mist, the gods, the cabins, and everything else.
I expected him to not believe me, and call me names (like the other new campers) for lying, but he took it like a champ. he nodded at me, sitting up properly, and asked for something so his arm would stop paining. I immediately got will to help him.
the next week, when I was out by the beach, reading my romance novel about a mortal girl and a faerie prince falling in love after being enemies, I heard sand shifting around behind me.
“who-” I turned around.
“hey, y/n, right?” percy asked, walking closer.
“ah, you remember,” I said, a smile growing on my face.
“well, yeah. you’re really just the only person who has spoken to me normally… and not like I was some intimidating and scary… thing,” he said, running his hands through his already dishevelled hair.
“come, sit down.” I patted the sand beside me. he took his place there, sitting down with his legs criss-crossed.
“what are you reading?” he asked.
I explained to him the plot, setting, characters, and everything about the book I was reading for the next few hours.
we sat there till dusk, watching the sun set into pretty hues of pink, purple, and orange.
“it’s so pretty, isn’t it?” I asked.
✮⋆˙ percy’s pov
“yeah, it is.” I replied to her, eyes fixed on her side profile.
wow. she’s so beautiful.
timeskip: present
“perce!” y/n called loudly, running towards me.
“heyyyy! n/n, you’re back! how was the quest? did you get hurt or anything?” I asked, hugging her, and then moving back to scan her for injuries.
“i’m fine, perce, all good. I got will to check me out and he cleared me,” she said, grinning. her face was swiped with dirt and grime, but she still looked like she was an ethereal princess who walked out of one of her books. “what? have I got a lot of dirt on my face?”
“nah, you’re cool. ‘s pretty.” I said, and she laughed—my favourite sound in the entire world. “and anyway, you need to change out of these clothes and meet me outside your cabin. I have something for you.”
“what is it?”
“that’s a surprise-”
“I hate surprises.”
“you’ll like this one,” I winked at her, as she laughed again.

✮⋆˙ y/n’s pov
I changed into casual loose sweatpants and a shirt since it was summer.
ah, summer. one of most romantic seasons ever. the breeze whipping around a girl’s hair, as a boy runs towards her with flowers. the sunlight falling onto their faces as they share a kiss. watching the sun set in pretty shades everyday with each other. that was summer.
everything about it reminded me of percy. watching sunsets, seeing the sunlight fall on his face after he gets out of the water. the flowers, now dry, that he gifted me for every special occasion.
it was hard to admit that I liked him more than I would like any friend. i’d never picked up any hints from him, that might’ve signalled that he liked me, no matter how many of my siblings told me he did.
all friends hold hands, right? and all good friends wish each other a good morning and good night everyday. what was so special? the flowers?
“hey, n/n!” percy’s voice dragged me out of my thoughts. he was dressed in loose shorts and a hawaii button up, and my gods, he looked so gorgeous.
“perce! at least tell me where we’re going now,” I groaned.
“nuh-uh. a surprise is a surprise.” he brought out a blindfold and handed it to me. I raised my eyebrow at him. “put it on. i’ll take you there.”
“I swear to gods, if this turns out to be a prank-”
“shh, it won’t. now put it on,” he promised.
I walked closer to him and put on the blindfold, and he turned me around a few times to make sure I wouldn’t figure out where we’re going. I scoffed at his childish actions.
as he was standing behind me, I felt his warmth on my back. he took my arms at my side and urged me to walk ahead.
he manoeuvred me in different directions and finally stopped after a while.
“you ready, princess?” he asked. the nickname did something to cause butterflies in my stomach.
“yeah,” I whispered.
he took off the blindfold, and it was too bright for a second. I shielded my eyes and groaned, before letting them adjust to the harsh sunlight.
I looked around and saw a huge, fluffy blanket laid down on the grass of the fields. a basket with food was set in one corner and a bouquet in the centre.
specifically, a book bouquet.
“PERCY, HOW DID YO-”
“surprise,” he grinned, as I turned around and hugged him. he’d always given me gifts when I returned from quests, but this was, by far, the best.
“how’d you know all my favourites?” I asked, looking at the 10 romance novels on the blanket.
“oh, annie helped,” he said enthusiastically. “should we sit down and start eating? you can tell me all about the people in your books, and why you like romance books especially, yeah?”
smiling, we sat down on the blankets, and ate away with no care in the world.
✮⋆˙ percy’s pov
as she talked about her books for the next few hours, I could only think about how beautiful her brown eyes were, especially when the sunlight hit them at the correct angle. how soft her lips looked as her mouth moved at a faster pace than her thoughts. how perfect her cheeks were, smiling wide. how amazing she was. how smart and beautiful she was.
when did my feelings of friendship turn into love, for her?
as she continued to speak of the love between her favourite characters, I noticed her longing for a similar love. I could give that to her, couldn’t I?
wait. what? what am I even thinking? y/n’s my best friend.
“love is everywhere, in every gesture, every glance. it’s the thread that binds us together, connecting hearts across time and space,” she said.
and at that moment, I knew I was done for.
I was hopelessly in love with my best friend.

Hoisting yourself up onto Hestia’s hearth in the centre of the gods throne room, your eyes lingered on Luke’s dead body and the people who surrounded it. Looking at the emotions on their faces, all you felt was numb.
Luke Castellan is dead.
Kronos has been turne into fine dust.
Ethan, Selina, Micheal, and so many others, are all dead, fighting to defeat the Titans and protect Olympus.
The second Titan War is over.
None of that changed the cold nothingness that had filled your veins as Percy’s knife buried itself in Luke’s chest, Luke’s grip on the hilt loosing, blood pouring out of his chest onto his twitching, scarred hand.
Faint, thundering sounds caught your attention, your eyes darting over to the rest of Olympus shown through the massive archway, and spotted what looked to be the Olympians, ready for battle, and heading straight toward their damaged throne room.
By the time they actually arrived, you had already found another thing to focus on - Hestia’s hearth, that’s slowly flickering back to life. When you heard their loud footsteps end, realising there is no more battle, you finally looked back over, glancing between the gods - and the full army Poseidon brought - and Luke.
“Percy,” your father called, sounding awed at your older brother, “What… what is this?”
Percy turned to face the Olympians, finally, and announced, “We need a shroud” — his voice cracked — “A shroud for the son of Hermes.”
A pair of footsteps, that definitely don’t sound like Grover’s hooves, distracted you from watching the rest of the scene fold out. And it is definitely not Grover and his goat legs, but a six-foot-something sun god coming right your way.
Apollo looked to have somehow managed to change his clothes when you weren’t looking, swapping his Greek battle clothes for jeans and a hoodie. He definitely still had the looks of a Greek god, though, just like all the other times you’ve seen him in the past with his warm, striking blue eyes, wavy, honey blonde hair, and massive figure of an actual god.
Staring blankly up at Apollo, he was sat right next to you in a few, long strides, scanning your body up and down.
“My Achilles,” he joked, grinning dumbly at your slumped figure. “Arms up, Sunshine,” he continued with, looking less jokey now.
“Ironic,” you muttered, not raising your arms. But one look at the god’s face, completely devoid of amusement at the if movement, changed your mind on lifting your arms.
“What do you mean ‘Ironic’, baby?” Apollo, back to his normal self, asked way too casually, looking up at you with raised, perfect brows as his hands made quick work of the armour on you.
Apollo’s presence, you started to realise, was simply enough for the previous stone running through your veins to melt, changing back into hot, dark red blood that was already rushing up to your sunken cheeks as his soft hair kept brushing bare skin while leaning over to do all the straps on your torso armour.
“I mean exactly what you’re doing right now - loosening straps,” you mumbled as an answer, deciding to entertain Apollo acting dumb. You made sure before you spoke, though, that he was distracted with one of your hip straps while leaned over you, and *not* looking at your face.
“Don’t tell me that’s why you’re so cold,” he pouted, actually pouting, as he look right up at your face that was looking down at his, “Because that was so long ago, Sunshine - I’ve changed!”
“I’m not cold, I’m just not you,” scoffed you, though you’re fighting a smile now, as you stared challengingly at the god looking right up at you with, somehow, the warmest, most radiant blue eyes you’d ever seen.
Instead of giving you an instant response, Apollo decided to lift the bulky, but light, armour right off of you, tossing it over somewhere. It’s only then you realised you’ve been chatting with Apollo this whole time in front of all the Olympians, including your dad, this whole time.
Deciding to glance away from the gods as soon as you looked, your eyes landed on a slightly tense looking Apollo, who’s staring right at a big, fresh bloody spot on your shirt. He almost looks worried? Like he actually cared, which was weird, because these couple years he’d been flirting and joking with you, you’d figured it was just because he wanted to annoy his uncle and thought you had a decent pair of boobs, or something.
For a split second, just as Apollo looked right back up at your face, you wondered if this was how your mom felt every time your father had looked at her - like the most special person in the whole, entire universe.
That was a dumb thought, though.
Totally.
Definitely.
“I’d take a closer look, but I don’t think you’d appreciate me taking off your clothes right here,” started Apollo, sounding cocky, and finally stating what he was doing by being here with you. “So, Sunshine, I hope you don’t appreciate battle scars!” he finished, with one of his classic grins.
You decided not to reply, and stare blankly at Apollo as he moved his hand to your lap and held one of your hands in his. A sudden golden glow appeared from his large, warm hand just before he murmured some words in ancient Greek, his eyes closing in focus. A sudden intense rush of energy and warmth ran through you at the words you could hardly make out, and suddenly it felt like your head was spinning… while in the clouds?
Slowly, your head started clearing, and you realised that rush of energy and warmth was familiar. It was like when one of the Apollo campers would heal a wound, except it felt multiplied by at least a hundred, seriously.
“What the actual hell…” you said, feeling weirdly energetic and pain-free, something you hadn’t felt since coming back to Camp.
“It’s great, right?” Apollo remarked, his hand dropping yours to follow its other in tugging off his grey New York hoodie.
“Is this was you feel like 24/7?” you mused teasingly as Apollo slipped off his hoodie, lifting the shirt underneath and showing off nearly half of his completely perfect, tan and muscular torso which your eyes totally didn’t linger on.
“Even better than that - there’s actually golden liquid flowing through my veins,” Apollo answered gleefully once he’d fully taken off his hoodie, looking very happy at your tease - he’d obviously took it as a compliment.
“That’s sounds awful,” you countered, crossing your arms over what you realised was your now-healed body, and oddly clean shirt. Seriously, though, if gods felt like this - high as a kite - all the time, you were starting to think you understood Hades.
“It’s really not,” Apollo chuckled airily, standing up abruptly and then fiddling with the hoodie in his hands so it’s the right way out.
“Sureee,” you retorted sarcastically, deciding to stand up in suit. Once you stood, distracted by steadying yourself for a moment, you got blinded by someone shoving a hoodie over your head - that ‘someone’ being the one and only Apollo, of course.
The hoodie, which you realised smelt oddly warm - like sandalwood and amber, but also cologne and a refreshingly sweet floral scent - was quickly slipped over your head and you found yourself slipping your arms into the big sleeves. Apollo pulled your trapped hair out of the neck, fixing it to sit over your shoulders with an adoring look on his face.
You cringed at the thought of your bloody shirt beneath Apollo’s hoodie leaking into the intoxicating scent of what you assumed to be him, but you quickly realised it wasn’t bloody or dirty anymore, and it hadn’t been either since Apollo healed a deep cut you hadn’t even felt then and the rest of your body with it. And apparently washed all your clothes and body with it, as you realised it felt.
“You look adorable, Sunshine,” the god gazing down at you cooed, dimples on full show like always. Regret grew in his ocean blue eyes, you started to notice, joined by conflict, but ultimately the regret won.
“You should probably go handle that,” Apollo said, sounding like his eyes previously looked. He nodded over to behind your shoulder, and your eyes followed, greeted by the sight of those creepy fates taking Luke’s wrapped up body away.
All of the sudden, though, Hermes said, “Wait”, just as the fates were going to walk past him. He unwrapped his son’s pale face, and kissed his forehead, then murmured a blessing in Ancient Greek that made your stomach twist.
“And I’ll take care of that,” Apollo joked breezily, lowering his voice so only you could hear his words. His smile never faltered as you looked back behind yourself at your brother, Annabeth, and Grover, then back at him, even though he felt his stomach twist.
“I… I’ll see you around, Apollo,” you murmured, the aftermath of everything having fallen right back on you. You mustered up a small smile, and turned around, taking a few steps in the direction of your brother before a hand landed on your shoulder, halting your movements.
“I’ll vouch for you later, Sunshine,” Apollo joked quietly, with the same dopey grin, and gave your shoulder a gentle rub before letting go. He watched you walk away again, and didn’t stop you this time, letting his mind drift back to centuries ago, to the girl in that vision, and just how much you resembled her with your back turned to him.

PERCY JACKSON x Apollo!READER
sypnosis: you don't like the rides percy's taking you for your “friendly” themepark date, until you head for the ferris wheel.
notes: reader is, again, a child of apollo, reader is gender neutral, reader is very judgemental, fluff, friends to lovers, ferris wheel trope
a/n: took the pic from a manhwa called operation: true love!
-----
The sun was already setting, beaming down on the theme park, and you couldn't contain your excitement as you navigated through the vibrant seas of people. Every corner of the park pulsed with energy, from the screaming rollercoasters to the colorful stalls lining the walkways.
But the rides Percy led you to were... not so thrilling. You were a child of the God of—many things! You were the embodiment of fun. He must've lacked the “humor literature.”
“This ride is seriously lacking,” you declared, shaking him with an insistent grip. “I thought you would show me something that could really make my adrenaline pumping, not just a slow spin on a plastic horse.”
Percy smirked, shaking his head. “It’s a carousel, not a roller coaster. Not everything can be an epic adventure.”
“My point still stands.” You shrugged with a grin.
The day continued with a mix of roller coasters, carnival games, and food stands. Every ride you encountered seemed to get an immediate and loud critique from you. You had a special way of making even the simplest attractions sound like the worst thing ever. Despite your constant complaints, Percy remained as patient as ever—only staring at you with an underlying tone of something you couldn't seem to shake.
As you approached another game stall, your attention was completely captured by a prize displayed on the table. It was a plushie that had the exact features of Percy—and with no problems, you got it.
“Wow, it’s got the same hair as him too...” You muttered, fiddling with the knitted clothes. It was removable too—who does that?
“Look, Jackson, it looks exactly like y—”
Turning around, you'd only seen a random kid staring up at you with the stink eye (what a bitch.)
Your heart dropped, and your eyes immediately started darting to her surroundings, trying to find the supposedly, very spottable son of Poseidon. He was nowhere to be found. Like, literally. Too many people to even find him.
“That guy!” You grumbled to yourself as you rammed through the seas of unfamiliar faces, muttering a few apologies to whom you had accidentally bumped into.
None. None. None!
He was nowhere to be found, making you even more agitated.
Minutes stretched on, each one feeling like an eternity. Your eyes darted back and forth, scanning every black haired guy. The thrill of the games and rides seemed like a distant memory now, replaced by a gnawing worry.
“He’s—” There he finally was, standing in line for the ferris wheel. He seemed so nonchalant, with a pack of pretzels—he didn’t even think to tell you!
Relief (with a mixture of irritation) flooded through you, and you rushed over to him.
“Percy, where have you been?!” You demanded, grabbing a hold of his arm with a vice-like grip. “I was about to organize a search party! You can’t just leave me like that!”
He, clearly taken aback by your sudden outburst, raised his hands in a placating gesture. “Sorry, sorry! I was just saving a spot for us on the ferris wheel.”
“Next time, tell me where you’re going!” You scolded, reaching up to tug on his reddening ear.
He nodded, an apologetic smile on his face, and led you to the ferris wheel. As you climbed on one of the cabs, you noticed the slight shiver to his body, even under the weight of his jacket. His hands started to pale, a contrast to yours.
“You seem cold,” you muttered, trying to lighten up the wilting mood.
“Nah, I’m alright.” Percy assured with a shake of his head, and sat in the opposite direction as you.
You didn’t buy it—not when the blood on his palm was starting to go away. You unwrapped the scar around your neck and rose from your seat. Without hesitation, you wrapped it around his neck, hoping to provide some comfort.
His eyes slightly widened, and he instinctively grabbed your wrists. “No, I’m okay. You keep it—”
“Percy, just take the scarf. You look like you’re about to turn into an ice sculpture.” You deadpanned, your eyes staring directly at his. The once glowing aura of yours seemed to darken along with the sun setting, making the atmosphere more—intimate, ish.
With a resigned sigh, he gave in, accepting the scarf and wrapping it around his shoulders. The two of you settled into the cab as the ferris wheel began its slow ascent, the view of the park unfolding below you.
The sky transitioned from bright blue to soft oranges and pinks, creating a breathtaking backdrop that framed the scene perfectly. The fading light bathed the scene in a soft, romantic light, enhancing the atmosphere.
“Dad would’ve loved it here. The view is breathtaking!” You said as your eyes landed on the little people below you. “Even if—”
Before you could finish your dramatic musing, Percy’s gaze fixed on you with an intensity that made your breath hitch. There was something in his expression, a mix of hesitation and longing, that made you pause.
“Percy, what’s wrong? You okay?” You asked and leaned in slightly with narrowed eyes, trying to find anything out of the ordinary on his face.
Well, none. He was perfect.
Your cheeks started to heat up—and not from the temperature, but from his gaze. You turned your head to fully face him, mouth opening to speak. But then—
His lips press against yours, for just a moment. A very long moment. It was gentle but filled with an unspoken deoth that made your heart race.
You then reeled back, staring at him wide-eyed and gaped. You couldn’t even notice the faint tint of pink spreading across his cheeks, embarrassed by the sudden intimacy.
“I’m sor... what?” Your words died on your tongue, which was unlikely of you. You were usually so talkative.
Not here, though. Your breath was utterly taken away.
“Y-yeah... sorry, I’m so sorry.” He stammered softly, his hand flying to his mouth.
You cleared your throat, not being able to hear the incoherent and muffled apologies and explanations coming out of his mouth. Your mind was trying to process this whole thing.
You weren’t mad; quite the opposite. You felt... giddy. The same feeling with your father when he was with his past lover—but you didn’t know that. The author just wanted to add that for references.
Albeit, your fingers slightly twitched, almost wanting to do something you might regret. But you only live once, right?
So, with no hesitation, you grabbed the ends of the scarf and pulled Percy in for another... well, kiss. Your lips meshed into each other perfectly, the softness of it making you melt. The kiss was longer, a little more passionate, and it conveyed everything you had been feeling throughout the day.
When you finally broke apart, the both of you were breathless, staring at one another with flushed cheeks and bewildered expressions. You kissed Percy Jackson.
A shy smile managed to dance across his lips, “So, how’s the view?”
You grinned and gently pushed his face away, averting your gaze to the ground.
“Definitely better now.”

𝐚/𝐧: this had no reason to be so emotionally taxing but here we are
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Being the boyfriend of a Boreas kid meant two things happened every night: one, sneaking you in from your lonely cabin to his lonely cabin, and two, sleeping with nearly a hundred different blankets.
Normally, he fell asleep easy despite the chill, but there was a lot of work waiting for him back New Rome. Jason knew this holiday at Camp Halfblood was only making that work pile up, but he tired, so he didn't care just yet. He could let the anxiety catch him after Christmas. Plus, the longer he was away from work the longer he was with you.
Jason had been away doing Roman things for at least two months, and Iris Messages and the occasional phone call weren’t cutting in anymore; despite your cold shouldered father, you were as clingy as all get out. Not that Jason minded (he was clingy too).
The next fall of New Rome University couldn't seem to get there any slower. You were both going to be there, thank the gods.
Jason started to grin at just the thought, his eyes skimming all over your peaceful face as you breathed in and out slowly. The two of you were practically buried under all the blankets, and he would have been miserably hot if it weren’t for his amazing cooler system of a girlfriend.
“You’re staring,” you suddenly sang out softly, a mischievous smirk taking your face.
Jason’s heart sped up. “I thought you were asleep.”
“Creep,” you mumbled.
He reached over to caress your cheek, tucking some stray hairs behind your ear. You leaned into his touch and twisted in the blankets, wrapping your arms around his middle and nuzzling into his chest.
He pressed a light kiss to your hairline and rested his arm on your waist. “What’s up?”
“Just thinking.”
“About?”
You blinked blearily up at him. “Christmas. I’ve been working on something.”
“Care to share?” Jason had known you long enough to know you were serious about Christmas surprises. This time of year your powers were strongest, and you always took advantage of that.
You lightly patted his chest and snuggled deeper into bed. “Mhmm. When it’s ready. Can’t let anything get out or else Mr. D will so shut it down.”
Jason was officially intrigued. “What exactly… never mind. I'd rather sleep easy.”
You leaned up to kiss his jaw. “Good choice.”
He caught your lips before you could get back to sleep, cupping you cheek in his hand and drawing you close for an everlasting moment. The thundering mosaic on the ceiling was as annoying as ever, and he swore he could feel the statue of his dad staring holes into him.
So Jason pulled the pile of covers up to hide the two of you away, thriving off your little giggle as he pulled you in once more.

A week till Christmas, and you finally felt ready to cast the enchantment. Giddiness ran through your whole body all morning, along with some nerves, of course.
It all began when you heard Chiron reading a story to some of the littler campers. They were year rounders and were feeling homesick, whining and crying so much their counselors couldn't get anything done. So, he read to them, taking some Christmas storybook from Athena Cabin and frantically narrating the tale of Frosty the Snowman.
You’d been coming by to drop off some paperwork from your well-enough paying job in the Big House, lamenting being unable to find a suitable gift for Percy's little sister Estelle. She'd be coming to camp for the Christmas Day bonfires with her mother and father, and you had yet to find something she would like.
As you dropped off your papers you heard the older of the littles cry out that she wished it would snow in camp. Another then exclaimed he wished they had their own magic snowman.
Mr. D was in the next room over, promptly laughing and popping the kids dream bubble. You weren’t having that, not one bit. And suddenly, you had your perfect gift.
The only reasonable solution was to learn how to create a magic snowman.
(Jason would later call you crazy, which is basically a declaration of love, you think.)
You sat alone in the dim lighting of your cabin, which you shared with no one but the dust bunnies. Boreas didn’t really hoe around much, which you supposed was nice, aside from the fact that it left you no roommates. Nights used to get lonely before you and Jason started saying fuck to the rules.
Little snowflakes danced around your palms before they went spiraling into the air and exploded into dozens of flurries. Slowly, bit by bit, the snow started to pile up all around you, creating a blanket of white across the floor. You had the snow down, now, you just had to trust you had your sorcery skills down.
A knock on the cabin’s skylight startled you.
You smiled, calling up, “What’s the password?”
“Jason has the coolest girlfriend ever?”
“Not quite.”
There was a sigh. “Shiver me timbers.”
“Access granted,” you sang in reply, an all too satisfied smirk planted on your face.
The skylight creaked open, letting in the moonlight as well as your boyfriend. He shivered instantly. No matter how high you set the thermostat, the Boreas cabin was always freezing. Not that it ever bothered you, anyway.
A snow flurry landed on his nose, sending Jason into a sneezing fit. “Still working?”
“Mhmm.” He watched as you tried and failed to hide a yawn.
A little smile sprouted on his face as he rolled his eyes. “All right. Bed time.”
You shot him a glare. “Don’t baby me.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it, but I’m afraid I can’t sleep without you,” he said softly, holding out a hand with such a pretty look in his eyes. If he kept on looking at you like that, you might as well fall in love with him already.
“Fine,” you sighed, plopping your hand into his and letting him haul you to your feet. “Only because you can’t function without me.”
You wrung your arms around his neck and flushed yourself against him, his arms tight around you and a cute blush in his cheeks.
A light breeze kissed your cheek as he rose off the floor, keeping one arm around your waist while the other pushed open the skylight.
“Air Jason, taking off,” you said, doing your best to mimic a pilot’s microphone and failing miserably. Jason loved it though, an airy laugh bubbling from his lips as the night air met the pair of you with no regret.
“You’re such a dork,” he muttered into your ear, eliciting a poke to the ribs from you. Jason dropped a few feet in the air and nearly sent you into cardiac arrest, a scream leaving you as your legs clambered to wrap around his waist.
Jason was laughing for gods’ sake, shushing you as he picked up speed to reach Cabin One before the harpies caught you. “Sorry, sorry.”
In through the open window and down to the floor, the wind carried you all the way, a soft caress on your skin as if the air meant to comfort the two of you. You were going to ask him if he felt it too when a wave of exhaustion found you, and you started to lean into Jason, not letting him go even when your feet touched the ground.
He rubbed gently circles into your back, his chin coming to rest on your head, eyes closing. You were cold to touch, as always, but Jason would gladly get frostbite just to hold you forever.
Eyes soft, you caught corners of glittery lights in your peripheral, turning to find a Christmas tree that had definitely not been there a few hours ago. A smile split onto your face as you rushed up to it, admiring the rainbow lights and mismatched ornaments.
Jason must’ve gone through the Big House attic to find all these. You picked off an ornament of Olympus, a selfie of a smiling Apollo and a less than pleased Dionysus staring out from the little city of the gods.
“It’s perfect,” you said, spinning back around to find Jason there.
He had that look in his eyes. You know, the one that takes all the air out of you and leaves you craving nothing more than his very presence. “One more thing.”
You followed his gaze to the ceiling, lip slipping between your teeth to contain your smile. “Mistletoe?”
His hand came to cup your cheek, eyes dipping low. “Hey, I don’t make the rules.”
How could you argue with that? Without warning you lurched forward and sent Jason stumbling back, lips meeting his in a feverish moment.

Dawn was encroaching on the camp.
There was barely a noise all across the Long Island Sound, aside from the sea meeting land, the ruffling of the harpies’ feathers, and the contented snores coming from each cabin. In the stables the pegasi huffed and dealt with the faux antlers stuck to their heads. Mr. D sat snoring in a rocking chair on the Big House deck.
The tall and proud Christmas tree at the center of camp stood looming over Hestia’s fire. Her warm face could be spied through the flickering flames, if one looked close enough. Beneath the tree’s branches were boxed gifts, some from attentive godly parents, but most placed there by Chiron (he never bothered correcting the campers when they assumed Santa Claus came in the night).
Garlands and wreaths hung from every doorway. Mistletoe was easy to find from the awnings of the Aphrodite Cabin. Poinsettias bloomed over the rooftop of Demeter’s Cabin. The smell of cookies and candy canes wafted out from the camp kitchens, the dryads tossing bits of flour and sugar at each other as they prepared something special.
It was a Camp Halfblood Christmas if you’d ever seen one.
The only thing missing was snow.
You stood on the hilltop overlooking the center of camp, embracing the December chill. The magical borders prevented outside weather from affecting the camp, but they did nothing to stop weather coming from the inside.
Flexing your palms and shaking them out, you let out a breath that crystallized in the frigid air. The water in the air bended to your will, the clouds gathered at you command. You didn’t pretend to understand weather and the science of it all, you just knew that when the water in the clouds got cold enough…
Your concentration was unrelenting even as the first few snowflakes drifted down from above, following the current of air down the valley of camp. You would need a lot more than that. Glancing at the sun peeking up over the horizon, you pushed past your growing fatigue.
There would be snow that Christmas Day if you had anything to do about it.

Jason noticed right away that the familiar warmth of your freezing body was missing from his side. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes he rolled over and noticed that your shoes weren’t at the foot of the bed.
The whole cabin was freezing, but without you, it was just getting on his nerves. He was ready to get up, throw on a coat, and maybe just start yelling your name to find you wherever you’d run off to.
That was when he looked out the window. Jason’s jaw slacked, his eyes pleasantly wide and bright as a laugh tore out of him. He jumped up and didn’t bother with shoes as he flung open the cabin’s door and ran into the snow.
Everywhere a white layer of snow sat heavy on benches, picnic tables, the cabins—nothing was safe from this Christmas Day miracle.
He laughed again and raked his hands through his hair. So this is what you’d been working so secretively on. Jason really should have guessed sooner.
The sound of boots in the snow caught his attention and he glanced over to see Piper hurling a snowball at Leo’s head. Leo sputtered when the snow hit his face, a sly grin all over his face.
Piper laughed behind her hand and noticed Jason struggling to pull on sneakers in his doorway. She dodged a snowball from Leo’s warm hands and jogged toward him. Her voice was tangled with a smile. “Did you know she was planning this?”
“Nope,” he said, popping the p. All around camp kids were racing outside, slipping on the icy snow and tossing on any warm clothes they could find. You were still nowhere to be seen. “Have you seen my girlfriend?”
Piper shook her head and made to say something when a handful of snow was dumped down the back of her shirt. She gasped and whirled around, shivering despite the hot anger in her eyes, and took off after a cackling Leo without another word.
Snickering, Jason took another look around, sighing when he couldn’t see you in the midst of excited campers.
He turned around to go grab a jacket when a soft noise caught his attention. Some kind of grunting, followed by a startled yelp. Jason started to smile. He’d know that sound anywhere. He followed the noise around the side of his cabin, tilting his head at the sight.
You were red in the face, using all your might to roll a giant ball of snow, struggling to say the least. Estelle was standing by with rapt attention, excitement written all over her face.
Jason went to stand beside Estelle, kneeling to be at her height. He leaned in to stage-whisper, “Do you think she needs some help?”
You looked up, stopping in the process of pushing your back against the snow, huffing and puffing through your glare. Estelle giggled. “Probably.”
He saw it in your face; you wanted to flip him off, only refraining given the current company. Estelle’s eyes gleamed up at him along with a bucktooth smile. “We’re building a snowman!”
“We?” you huffed, tucking your hair out of your face and behind your ears. “I didn’t know we were pronouncing my name as we now.”
Estelle rolled her eyes. “I’m supervising.”
“Honestly, I think ‘Stelle’s doing the heavy lifting,” Jason teased.
You sighed and turned to face your work. “That’s one layer. Jason, you do the middle.”
Still grinning, he was going to protest before doing exactly as you said, when a voice echoed across the lawn. One of the Stolls (Jason knew they were a few years apart but he still could never remember which was which) was approaching, a snowball in hand.
“Yo, Y/N!” he called. “It’s getting a little soggy over here!”
You smiled like this wasn’t the first time someone had had this complaint, wasting no time in cracking your neck and splaying out your hands.  A cold rush of wind enveloped you, a firm crease in your brows, before another wave of snow rained down from the clouds.
The Stoll brother shouted his thanks, and you meant to offer a smile when suddenly the world got tipsy, everything going black for a split second as you teetered off balance. Jason’s heart dropped and he rushed to your side, steadying you against him.
“Hey, hey, you with me?”
You blinked blankly, though you nodded despite the greenish tint in your cheeks that was quickly fading. Still, Jason wanted nothing more than to sit you down and cast lightning upon anyone who tried to use you like a snow machine again.
“I’m fine,” you assured him, gaining your color back. “Just a bit tired keeping all of this up.”
Estelle was attempting to finish the snowman on her own, promptly falling face first into the snow and sputtering to her feet. You giggled at her expense, not realizing you were still leaning mostly on Jason.
He wasn’t done questioning. “How long did it take to cover the whole camp?”
“Oh, uhm.” Your brows drew together, lips pursed. “A few hours. No big deal.”
You broke away from Jason and went to help Estelle roll along another giant snowball, casting Jason a reassuring smile. He let out a sigh and tried to let it go, going to help with the snowman construction.
The three of you finished the three layers of the snowman’s body, and Estelle ran off to collect the decorations and came back with a box, her brother, and her brother’s girlfriend.
Percy held Estelle on his shoulders, the box of supplies in Annabeth’s arms. You wiped your brow and smiled so brightly upon spying them that Jason nearly forgot you’d been focusing on continuing the snowfall all along, slowly draining yourself.
Before he could call you out you sprang to your feet and went to pick the carrot out of the box. Annabeth chuckled and said, “I had to fight Blackjack for that.”
“Aww,” you hummed through a giggle. “Poor guy.”
Percy scoffed. “Please, he gets enough carrots. He could spare us at least five.”
Before you even had the chance to reply, Estelle jumped up to swipe the carrot from your hand. A response was barely on you lips when she nearly toppled the whole snowman over trying to stick the nose on its blank face.
You sighed and went to help her, scooping your hands under her arms and lifting her so she could reach its face.
The morning went by as Piper and Leo approached the finished snowman with hot cocoa in hand. Piper sported a grin as she looked at you and said, “Mr. D is furious.”
“I hoped so,” you said.
As Piper knelt to talk to Estelle you once again chose to ignore the weightiness in your shoulders, swallowing thickly to deal with your drying throat, and walked to the near empty box. Inside was a top hat you’d been saving for last. This was what the practice was leading up to.
“Hey, Stelle,” you called. Jason came to your shoulder, brows drawn, and you shot him a smirk. “Have Percy help you put the hat on top.”
She needed no more asking, taking her brother’s hand and dragging him to the snowman. Percy lifted her just as you had, and as Estelle rested the silk top hat on the snowman’s head, you held out a hand, worked some Boreas kid magic, and sent up a prayer to your dear old dad. A flurry of snowflakes shot out from your palm and right to the heart of the snowman.
You waited on bated breath as Estelle’s boot crunched back to the snowy ground, your gaze locked on the unmoving creature of snow. One second, then two, then three, until a minute passed. Estelle ran back to Annabeth and started ranting about something, Percy right behind her as he slung an arm around Annabeth’s shoulders. Piper and Leo engaged in another snowball fight, hot cocoa discarded on the ground.
And the snowman stood still. Your lips pursed with confusion and frustration. Jason appeared beside you again, looking from you to the snowman. “What’re we glaring at Frosty for?”
“Nothing,” you dismissed with a forced grin. You let out a sigh and intertwined your fingers with his, pressing a swift kiss to the back of his hand. “Wanna head inside? You’re shivering.”
He shook his head and slipped an arm around your waist. He was warm and soft and despite how much you loved the cold, you’d never get tired of it. But you couldn’t focus on that right now; you were too disappointed.
That was until your boyfriend hit a full stop, his eyes slightly horrified yet also mystified. Brows pinched, you were on the verge of asking what was wrong when his hand gripped your chin. You flushed deep red at the action, another rush of warmth hitting you, but then Jason was turning your head to follow his line of sight.
A bright laugh escaped you. There, made of snow, two button eyes, and a carrot nose, was Estelle’s snowman. But now, he was living and breathing. The little twig eyebrows on him drew taut as he examined himself, looking at himself tree branch arms.
Your friends all around you stood in shock, looking from you to your creation. You laughed again quite like a mad scientist, and dropped Jason’s hand to slowly approach the snowman.
“Hello,” you said, and he considered you with a blank button stare, the line of chocolate chips making his mouth curved down into a frown.
“What am I?” he asked you, dropping his arms to his sides. He looked very contemplative for a snowman.
“A snowman,” you answered brightly.
The snowman hummed. His voice was soft, reminding you of the sound of crackling fire. Ironic. “I don’t think I’m meant to be alive. I feel… odd.”
Your smile started to fade, and you glanced back at your friends for help. Estelle stood awestruck, slowly stomping through the snow to stand at your side. She took your hand and looked up at the snowman with shining eyes.
The snowman looked back at her, going quiet. “Hello.”
Estelle started to smile. “Hi. My name’s Estelle, and this is Y/N. Those are our friends.” She jabbed a thumb back at the others. “Oh, do you have a name?”
He seemed to turn thoughtful, nodding. “I believe it was Perseus.”
Estelle let out a tiny gasp. “That’s what I called you! In my head!” She turned to you in complete and utter amazement. “How did he know that?”
You could only shake you head with a smile, squeezing her hand. “I dunno. Magic?” You couldn’t help but laugh once more, casting a glance up at the sky. The wind brushed through your hair, feeling oddly like a father’s hand ruffling a daughter’s hair.
You’d never met your father, but you doubted he was a cold as the weather.
Percy, Annabeth, Leo, and Piper came to admire the snowman, introducing themselves as he assessed them one by one. Jason hooked an arm around your waist, pulling your side against his, and you practically melted onto him. Your legs felt a tad bit weak.
He pressed a lingering kiss to your temple, whispering in your ear. “You astonish me.”
A smile split onto your face as you turned to kiss his cheek. Percy started to laugh as he looked upon the snowman. “Perseus the Snowman, huh?”
Perseus was holding Estelle’s hand as she rattled on about camp and how cool her big brother was and all about the Greek gods. Perseus listened with unabashed attention, the crease in his twig brows alluding to his curiosity.
Annabeth sidled up to you, unsure how to phrase her question. “Do you… Well, was this smart?”
You gave her an odd look. “What do you mean?”
The wise daughter of Athena settled you with her seriousness. “He’s snow… you can’t keep him that way forever.”
Her words rattled you to your core, and for once, you felt the chill of December.
Morning passed to evening, and you stayed stuck to Jason’s side more by exhaustion than by choice. Not that you minded, but the jelly feeling in your legs was less than pleasant. It took some work to ward off the curious campers from bombarding Perseus, who proved to be a rather anxious snowman.
Christmas Day passed by answering the endless questions of a snowman, explaining everything he could ever want to know.
Piper and Leo had gone off to lead ornament making with their respective cabins, being head counselors and all, and Percy and Annabeth went to make an obligatory holiday call to the latter’s father. Leaving only you, Jason, Estelle, and Perseus.
The four of you were at a picnic table close to the woods, the demigods sat atop the table and the snowman rolled up to the side.
Your energy was slowly but surely coming back to you. With the sun crossing the sky and starting to descend, the need for snow was waning. You hadn’t had a demand for a few hours, and to be honest, you were grateful. Your eyes felt droopy and your shoulders ached. You wanted to sleep, but you had one more thing to keep focused on: Perseus the Snowman.
Jason drew gentle shapes on your hand, letting you lay your head on his lap as Estelle told the harrowing tale of how Percy defeated Clarisse La Rue in his very first game of capture the flag.
You were having trouble looking at your snowman. From what he said when Estelle let out a yawn, he knew exactly why.
“Look at that,” he said, drawing everyone’s attention. His button eyes swept across the lawn of camp, where the snow was melting into the grass under the heat of the setting sun. His eyes turned to you, then. “You’re letting it all melt.”
You sat up and crossed your legs, resting your hands in your lap. You blinked at him, a tug on your heart. “Yes.”
He could only stare back at you. “You’re keeping me, though.”
Perseus was very perceptive for a snowman. You smiled at him. “We’re not done talking to you.”
He smiled back. “That’s true. And when we’re done talking?”
Estelle was looking between all of you, a confused purse in her lips. Jason cleared his throat and asked her to get him earmuffs from his cabin. She nodded and ran off, nearly tripping over herself. You sent him a look. “You don’t own earmuffs.”
“Oops,” he murmured through a grin. Perseus was watching the pair of you almost fondly.
You turned back to him and searched for the words to say, but it was all lost on you. Jason continued to rub soothing circles into your skin. All the words you knew suddenly boiled over. “I’m sorry. I didn’t think what would happen when… You know.”
Perseus shifted around, a gentle chocolate chip smile on his face as he took in the scenery. “Don’t be sorry. I’m happy to have lived.”
“But… you’re going to die,” you couldn’t help but say, as if he needed reminding.
He didn’t. That much was clear by his smile. “Don’t be sorry,” he echoed. “I’ll be happy to die. Snowmen aren’t meant for longevity.”
Your throat constricted. “It’s all my fault. I wasn’t thinking.”
“You were thinking of Estelle,” he said. “I’ve made her happy. I’m perfectly fine with melting.”
You cupped a hand over your mouth and averted your eyes just as Estelle came sprinting back, chest heaving as she lamented being unable to find any earmuffs.
“It’s cool, Stelle,” Jason said, forcing a smile.
She plopped back down and huffed, looking to Perseus, then the sunset. Perseus glittered in the light, and it took you far too long to realize it wasn’t glitter, but dew.
Estelle, angel she is, noticed it too. “Perseus, are you melting?” Before he could even think to answer she was turning on you, a fire in her gaze. “Make him better.”
You would—gods, all of Olympus knew you would, if only you weren’t exhausted. You gaped like a fish, squeezing Jason’s hand. Perseus the Snowman shook his head. “No, there’s no need.”
He reached out a wooden arm and she gently wrapped her little fingers around the splintered edges of his crooked hand. “I don’t fear death.”
Estelle’s jaw hung slack for an everlasting moment. “Well, I do! Y/N, do it.”
Jason tensed and snapped, “Stelle, that’s not fair.”
She didn’t seem to care in the slightest.
“Estelle,” Perseus drew her attention back to him. “You’ll make more snowmen.”
She shook her head hopelessly, eyes going glassy. “No, I won’t. I won’t ever make another snowman.”
“How sad,” said Perseus. “Never?”
Estelle wiped her nose on her sleeve and looked at the ground. “Maybe, not never.”
The snowman started to smile again. His button eyes roamed over them all, stopping on the sky, and he sighed. “What a wonderful day to be alive.”
You turned your face so no one would see you crying. Jason's hold on your hand was the only thing sobering you up enough to remain on the picnic table, watching the sunset with your snowman.
The god Astraeus painted the sky with vibrant yellows, pinks, and oranges in a sunset to rival all others. It was too beautiful. Perseus kept his blank gaze settled on it alone, his hand still in Estelle’s. You and Jason sat rigid behind them as time ticked away.
The moon rose expectantly to take its place as the sun started to hide under the horizon. The yellows and pinks made way for the dark blue of night creeping in. Only then did Perseus shift his gaze back to Estelle. “I’m ready now.”
A crease grew in your brow when Estelle nodded, understanding what you did not, and she stood up on the table to reach over Perseus’ head. With shaky hands she reached for his hat, glancing down at him, worrying her lip between her teeth.
All Perseus did was smile. “Merry Christmas.”
The little girl took in a wavering breath. “Merry Christmas.” And she removed the hat, lifting it off his head, and in an instant all hints of emotion left the snowman. Nothing changed at all, but each of you could see it; those buttons held life behind them no longer.
You bit down hard on your lip. “How did you know that would work?”
She shrugged, setting the hat down on the snow. “I didn’t.”
The sound of footfalls on the snow had you turning around. Chiron approached, a sorry look in his eyes, and he stopped a few feet off. “Everyone has gathered around the tree.”
You took Estelle’s hand in yours, steeling yourself and offered her a smile that she slowly returned. Jason moved to walk at your side as you followed Chiron to the center of camp. The tree lit up most of camp, stretching high and out.
Campers were singing off key here and there. A pair of girls was caught under the mistletoe, one laughing awkwardly before the moon eyed one swooped in for a gentle peck on her lips. Gifts were being exchanged. Snow balls were thrown. A snowman was being built by some younger Hermes kids too.
“Hey!” Percy called out, cheeks flushed as he sipped on his apple cider. One arm was slung around his girlfriend who was talking in low voices with Thalia. The lot of your friends were gathered around one of the many little fires scattered around the lawn.
He offered you and Jason each a blue gingerbread man, grinning ear to ear. “Mom made ‘em.”
You looked around for Mrs. Blofis and found her at a nearby table, handing out marshmallows for roasting with Mr. Blofis at her side. Mr. Blofis wasn’t doing much handing out, instead engaging in what seemed to be a deep conversation with Mr. D. The god of wine was gesturing wildly as he regaled some kind of story.
All was well. All was calm. You found it in yourself to actually smile.
Guilt wasn’t very far, wondering truly what you had been thinking bringing a snowman to life, when a particularly harsh bout of wind blew all your hair into your face. You sputtered through a giggle and swiped your hair to the side, your voice faltering when you caught sight of a man standing on the outskirts of the bonfires and chatter.
It couldn’t be. You stepped away from Jason and the rest, approaching the stranger. He stood tall, with a suit that glittered like snow. Two purple wings arched from his shoulder blades. What could your father want with you on Christmas?
“Hi,” you said, not sure where to start.
He stirred like he was uncomfortable. “Yes, hello, daughter.”
You had the heart to grin. “Merry Christmas.”
Boreas nearly scoffed before he corrected himself with a nod. “You as well.”
The silence to follow was tense. You motioned with your hand vaguely. “Is there a reason you’re here?”
You weren’t sure how to feel about meeting your father. You’d imagined this moment countless times, but it all led up to this anticlimactic reveal that was more amusing than anything else.
“There is,” he huffed. “I thought I would let you know your little magic act didn’t harm anything.”
“What do you mean?” you asked, heart dropping.
“I mean that the snowman is not dead,” Boreas informed you. “The snowman itself was never alive, I suppose. I’m impressed, I should say. You managed to catch a snow spirit and wrangle it into that snowman. Normally, snow spirits don’t get lives… You did a good thing, I suppose, giving that spirit one. He remembers it all. Perseus, as you called him, is living free and wild, as a snow spirit should be.”
You hadn’t realized your eyes were watering, relief coursing through you. “Oh, thank gods. I’m not murderer.”
Boreas chuckled softly. “You’re not.” He averted his eyes, raising a hand and pausing, unsure, before he settled it on your shoulder and met your eyes. “I’m… proud of you. I don’t have many children. You’re certainly one I don’t regret.”
You blinked up at him, reaching to awkwardly pat his forearm. “Thanks, Dad.”
He nodded stiffly, backed away, and with a last Merry Christmas, he vanished in a flurry of snowflakes. One landed on your nose and gave you an ever rare shiver.
Jason’s arm wrapped around you, his warmth enveloping you like a nice blanket. “You good?”
Nodding, you leaned your head on his shoulder. “Very.”
Curfew was extended that night, much to the harpies' disappointment. Treats and drinks were devoured by greedy children and finally, at the end of the night, Chiron gave the word and a stampede of kids ran to tear open the gifts they’d been eyeing for weeks.
After the younger kids had grabbed theirs and the crowd died down, your group moved in to find the gifts with your names on them. Your dad gifted you a snowglobe of camp. You shook it up with a smile, not noticing your sweating boyfriend approach you from behind.
“Y/N?” You turned, smile widening. Jason only got more nervous. “Uhm… I…”
You set the snowglobe back in its box on the ground and stepped closer to him, taking his hands in your freezing ones. “Yeah?”
“I love you,” he blurted. “So much.”
Your grin grew painful with how big it was. “And I love you.”
Jason blushed and took a deep breath. “You’ve been with me through… everything. When I wasn’t sure who I was, when Hera manipulated me and Piper, through the war.” He was out of breath, only one thought on his mind: no words would ever be enough. “I’m so in love with you. I can’t explain how much. Just when I think about it I can’t breathe.”
Your face had fallen into admiration. Jason’s thumb rubbed anxious lines on your knuckles. “I never want to spend a day without you. You deserve everything, and I want to give it to you.”
“Jason…” Your voice was shaky, tapering off.
“Don’t worry,” he nearly whispered, moving to cup your cheek. “I’m not asking you to marry me. Not yet.” You giggled and he swore it was better than ambrosia. “I will though. I promise I will.”
You were too busy reaching to take his face in your hands to notice when he pulled something out of his pocket. You leaned forward to kiss the very life out of him, and he would very much have let you, but he drew you back with his hold on your jaw, chuckling when you frowned.
He held up a little velvet box between your bodies. Suddenly you weren’t so interested in kissing him, swiping the box from him with greedy hands and gleaming eyes. You popped the box open, admiring the pretty silver chain laid within. “Oh, it’s beautiful.”
“Here.” Jason turned you around and offered to clip it around your neck. He didn’t waste the opportunity, peppering kisses from the skin behind your ear down to your shoulder, relishing in the little quiver you gave in response. “Merry Christmas.”
Whirling back around, you jumped him, arms flinging around his neck as you crushed your lips to his. You pulled back for barely a second to mumble “Merry Christmas” before your tongue pushed past his lips, your teeth catching his bottom lip.
“Woah! Woah! No PDA in my camp!” You groaned and ripped away from Jason, rolling your eyes as you cast Mr. D a glare over your shoulder.
Jason wasn’t so cocky anymore, red from neck to nose. “Sorry!”
“I don’t get paid enough…”
You and your boyfriend locked eyes, breaking down into a round of laughter as the grumpy god stomped away.
“Hey!” Piper jumped out of nowhere, Leo hot on her tail. Both were totally buzzed, and all you could do was laugh and wonder how on earth they’d snuck in alcohol. “Come sing carols, lovebirds!”
The pair of you followed the pair of them back to the little bonfire your friends had claimed. Fiddling with your necklace, you eyes scanned across them all to land on Jason, and a rush of adoration hit you like a freight train. You pecked his cheek and watched him stumble over a chuckle, returning a kiss to your hairline.
Then, as you leaned your head on his shoulder, a snowflake crossed your eye.
One by one, the sky became littered with flurries. Annabeth held up a hand as if to catch some. “Y/N, you’ve got to be tired by now. Take a rest.”
You shook you head slowly, confused. “This isn’t me.”
The winter wind kissed your cheek, and you were left at a loss. But Estelle—sweet Estelle, who sat between her brother and Annabeth—she knew. A little grin appeared on her face. “Goodbye, Perseus.”

Shut up, doofus, and just kiss me already
A/N: For someone so chill, Jason is really fun to write fanfics about. (No I don't have a crush on him what are you talking about)
Pairing: Jason Grace x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Reader being possessed, mentions of knocking the bad boy supreme out.
Requested?: Nope!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jason watched as you squirmed in your bonds, pure golden eyes darting around as the eidolon inside of you searched for an escape.
He felt his heart leap into his throat as you focused on him, narrowing your eyes to slits.
Then you gasped, the gold clearing from your now wide eyes as you sat up straight and stiff.
“J-jason?” Your voice was barely a rasp from all of the screaming and shouting at your friends to get away from you before the eidolon made you hurt them.
When they didn’t back off, the eidolon stuck true to its word, evident by the scraps on Jason’s biceps, and the gash right below his jaw. Frank had had to carry Leo out -though unwillingly, he made sure everyone knew that- for the Latino was knocked out cold.
You winced at the memory, remembering how Jason had to hold back Percy from knocking you out.
“No one is hurting her,” he had stated firmly, though through gritted teeth as he held Percy back by the shoulders. “Not now. Not ever. Not under my watch. Eidolon or no.”
Your eyes had softened, just for a millisecond, but Annabeth had taken the opportunity, crashing the hilt of her dagger into your skull.
You had crumpled to the floor, darkness crowding your vision, eyes flickering back to normal.
“What did I just say?” Jason demanded, crouching in front of you, looking over your shoulder at Annabeth, who only shrugged.
“It seemed like the best option,” Annabeth had tried to defend herself, though rather halfheartedly.
You had reached out, gripping Jason’s hand. “Probably was the best option.” It was true, you did believe that knocking you out was the best thing anyone could do.
Then you had blacked out.
“Hey.” Jason’s voice was gentle and angelic, and you cursed yourself for thinking the latter. “It’s not your fault.”
You opened your mouth to reply, but before you could, your throat seized up and you felt yourself lose control of your body as the eidolon returned. “I don’t know what this halfblood sees in you,” you sneered, and you inwardly curled into a ball, not wanting to hear the rest of what the eidolon would make you say. “Because you’re right. It’s not her fault.” You watched as you narrowed your eyes. “You should have protected her better, and then maybe I wouldn’t be here,” you hissed.
Jason stumbled back like you’d struck him. You wanted to scream, ‘Don’t show your pain. It’ll only make it worse! Where did your poker face go?!’
But you couldn’t. You could only watch as the eidolon inside you chuckled, pleased that he got a reaction out of Jason. “You’ll never be a good enough hero for her. For anyone, actually. She’ll never look to you to protect her. Never trust you, nor give her faith. She’ll never love you.”
Jason opened his mouth, hurt etched clearly on his face, but just then, Piper burst into the room. She gave you a long, concerned look before turning to Jason. “Is she ready?” Your friend asked.
“Yes.” Jason’s voice was heartbreaking to listen to. “Do it now please.”
Piper took a deep breath before starting. She looked you right in your golden eyes. “Eidolon, stop possessing this demigod.”
“N-never.” The once proud eidolon was falling to Piper’s charmspeak.
With renewed confidence, she continued. “You’ll leave and never come back, never possess any other person on this ship, and most importantly, you’ll leave now.”
There was so much force in her words, you felt the eidolon slip out of your mind almost immediately. Your eyes returned to their normal color and you groaned, shutting them almost completely.
When you opened them back up fully, you found Jason kneeling in front of you, clutching your now untied hands. Without a second thought, you threw your arms around his neck and rested your chin on his shoulder.
“I’m sorry, Jace,” you said, pulling away again.
“Don’t apologize,” he responded, glancing down briefly at your still interlocked hands. “If anyone should be apologizing it’s me. What the eidolon said- he was right-”
You didn’t let him finish, instead leaning up to put your lips on his. He took that as a shut up, doofus, and just kiss me already.
He gladly complied.

love triangle with the seven
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: percy jackson x jason grace x leo valdez x frank zhang x gn!reader x annabeth chase x piper mclean x hazel levesque
tags: oblivious/dense!reader, friendly rivalry, flirty!leo & percy & jason, slowburn, supporting each other
Tumblr media
nobody in camp knows what you did to make some of the most powerful half bloods there are all fall in love with you!
and the worst part about it all? while the seven are madly in love with you, you seem oblivious to it all!
percy, leo and jason are almost constantly flirting with you or teasing you, yet you always seem to see it as some banter between friends!
besides, leo flirts with everyone, doesn't he? and percy has always been a cheeky tease, right? they are acting perfectly normal, aren't they?
as for frank, he's often too shy to make a move on you at all, so there's no wonder that you aren't realizing that he has a crush on you!
the more assertive ones are annabeth and piper, who's flirting you seem to take at least a little serious!
but even with those two, you can't really believe that two pretty girls like them are truly both in love with you!
maybe that's why you can't even comprehend that all seven of them have feelings for you…
between the seven, there are some supportive dynamics, while between some of them, there's more of a rivalry!
percy and jason both ultimately support one another, but most of them, they are spurring each other on to flirt with you, before the other one gets a chance!
the three girls all agreed to stay civil and friendly, despite their crush on you, yet annabeth and piper struggle a bit and view each other more as rivals, while hazel manages to get along well with both of them!
perhaps it's due to hazel not being as assertive as they are! while everyone wants to date you, hazel included, she's likely the one who's most content with just being your friend for now and spending time with you!
though ultimately, the seven all hope to confess to you – or that you catch up on their feelings! once this love ‘triangle’ is sorted out, maybe their lives can become a tiny bit more normal again…

BUT DADDY, I LOVE HIM!
✸ pairing: jason grace x daughter of poseidon! reader
✸ synopsis: no, you’re not coming to your senses. even if it’s your father who’s telling you to
✸ warnings: none!
✸ notes: writing’s so weird…like it took me weeks to do my last work & i cranked this out in TWENTY minutes
idea from this post by @percabething!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“what?”
“you heard me, yn,” said your father firmly, ready for you to take your leave and quit bothering.
as if you were the issue here. you’d been minding your own damn business when he just appeared at the lakefront, disturbing your date planning.
your boyfriend would be here any minute, and here poseidon was suddenly deciding to parent. and not only to parent, but to have the audacity to try and tell you who you could and couldn’t date, trying to slam the door on your whole world.
“this doesn’t make any sense!” you protested. “jason and i have been together for months, why is it now a problem?”
“i was hoping that your little summer fling would die out, but it seems that you’re persistent with this one,” your father said.
this one? as if you’d dated more than one other boy before him.
“now, like i said, it’s time for you to stop entertaining this relationship with zeus’s boy. i know you don’t think so, but i’m looking out for you. think about what this could do to your name! end it already, yn.”
at that, he began to walk back towards the water, trampling over your beautiful picnic spread and narrowly missing crushing your basket.
you ran after him, the sides of your unbuttoned cardigan blowing in the summer breeze as you followed him into the water, willing your dress to stay dry as you cried out, “my name? i don’t care about what it could do! jason’s the one i want, dad, you can’t do this!”
poseidon stopped in his tracks, turning to you. “i am the god of the seas and your father, yn, i can do whatever it is that i please. so do enlighten me, why, may i ask, do you think i can’t do this?”
before you could even think to stop yourself, you shouted the words at him,
“because, dad, i love him!”
at the confession, something in your father’s stormy blue eyes seemed to clear up. his face softened as he looked at you for a moment, wondering how the little girl he remembered had gotten so old in such little time.
you began to grow antsy at the silence that followed your words, suddenly aware of the swishing of the lake against your calves as time seemed to still.
finally, poseidon sighed, “very well then.”
you perked up immediately, eyes bright as you squealed, “really?!”
the god nodded his head, though hesitantly and said, “yes. make sure he doesn’t make me regret it. and make sure he knows that.”
your father pointed over your shoulder, his tone suddenly shifted from how it’d been just about three minutes ago. you turned to find jason standing on the bank of the lake with colored cheeks and his hands behind his back, waiting for you to return and not wanting to interrupt your discussion with your father.
from the look on his face, he had definitely heard you.
blood rushed to your face as you realized that your first “i love you” for your boyfriend had been screamed at your father, of all people. when you turned back to your dad, he was gone with the waves.
tilting your head back as you dramatically rolled your eyes at the theatrics, you tentatively spun back round to look at jason, a sheepish smile on your face.
without missing a beat, he joined you in the water, splashing up to his ankles and sending water flying everywhere as he giddily made his way to you.
immediately upon arrival, he placed both hands on your face and pulled you in, catching your lips in a hasty kiss he’d been waiting to give you ever since he accidentally overheard your conversation.
you pressed your lips against his as your head swam as much as the creatures in the water below, winding your arms around his neck and pressing your body flush against his.
when you only separated because of lack of oxygen, neither of you strayed far.
“you heard me?” you asked with a breathe, forehead pressed against jason’s.
he was wearing what might’ve been the widest grin you’d ever seen.
“i did,” he said, pushing a tendril of hair behind your ear. “and i love you too.”
smiling hard, you pushed your lips against his once more.

THOUGHT I CAUGHT LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE (OH, BUT IT'S GONE AGAIN)~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/n: So this has been sitting in my drafts for a really long time. I don't remember what I was originally going for, but enjoy. Its criminally short, my boy DOES NOT DESERVE THIS. I promise I'll cook smt for him quick
You knew loss pretty well.
Hell, most people at camp knew it well. I mean, everyone had known someone who didn't make it, after going through a whole damn war when the oldest campers couldn't even legally vote.
But, to your surprise, even after losing so many, the loss of Jason Grace still hit hard, considering he was never yours to begin with.
It all started when Percy went missing.
One day he was there, and the next, he was gone. It felt like the glue holding camp together lost its ability to stick. All demigods, especially the ones close to him, like Annabeth, felt so lost.
Without him and his unwavering loyalty, the camp felt vulnerable, like there was a gaping hole in its defenses. The atmosphere had an extra layer of tension and concern.
And you could blame the emergence of your feelings for Jason on Percy's disappearance, but deep down, you knew that wasn't it.
You liked Jason, because, well, he was so...Jason.
Because he was freaking Jason Grace with his stupid smile that made your world light up and his stupid sense of doing the right thing at all times and his stupid--you could go on all day.
From the moment he stepped out of the lake, water clinging to every inch of him, and that adorable confused look on his face, you knew you were done for.
But then you learned of his girlfriend, and then he left on a quest, and then he came back, and then you learned of his and Piper's fake memories, which lit a small spark of hope inside of you that you couldn't get rid of.
That spark eventually turned into a blazing fire when you started to get close with him over the course of the next few weeks. You hung onto his every word, learned every little thing he mentioned about himself, memorised every inch of him that he willingly gave you.
You were convinced it was only a matter of time before the two of you got together, so imagine your the hurt and pain you felt when one night he confessed he was falling for Piper, not you.
You left his cabin that night fighting tears and fuming. You wanted to blame him, for leading you on, but he never did that. It was all you. You misinterpreted his kindness and friendship for something else.

Not On The Guest List
Platonic!Percy Jackson x Reader
Tumblr media
Masterlist - Join My Taglist!
Written for my personal fic writing challenge for 2024, Sophie's Year of Fic! Featuring a new fic being posted every Friday, all year long :)
Fandom: Percy Jackson
Summary: An uninvited guest shows up to Percy and Annabeth's wedding. Luckily, Percy's mortal cousin is on the case.
Word Count: 1,456
Category: Fluff
A/N: One fic a week every Friday of 2024!! We freaking did it!!! Guys, I literally have no idea how I managed to pull this off. But I did! Woohoo!!! Also, this fic and this fic also feature Percy and his cousin having adventures, although you don't need to read either of them to enjoy this one.
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
"Hey! How's it going in here?" I called, knocking on the door as I slowly pushed it open. My cousin and favorite person in the universe, Percy Jackson, called back in response.
"It's going good."
I pushed the door the rest of the way open to find him standing in the center of the room in his tux, looking perfectly polished. I grinned, then made a show of wiping tears out of the corners of my eyes. Percy rolled his eyes, but he was grinning all the same.
"My baby cousin's all grown up," I cried, crossing the room to wrap him in a big hug. He hugged me back, tight, and when we finally pulled apart we were both beaming. "Annabeth's gonna faint."
Percy just laughed and shook his head.
"If anybody's going to faint at this wedding, it'll be me. Or maybe Grover."
"I don't think anybody'd blame either of you."
Percy and I shared a smile, but before we could do anything else, the satyr in question came bursting into the room, looking more than a little panicked. He stopped short when he noticed me and Percy, glancing between the two of us like he really didn't know what to do.
"Grover?" asked Percy, taking a few steps forward. "What's wrong?"
"Uh..." He glanced to me again, then back to Percy. "Nothing! Just... a small problem."
"What is it?" said Percy. I stepped forward, too, trying to give Grover a reassuring smile.
"I'm happy to help, whatever it is the bride and groom need. We'll figure it out."
Grover didn't look any less nervous as he wrung his hands and looked between us. He'd probably been hoping to find one of the magical members of Percy's side of the wedding party, but I'd have to make do.
"It's just... I just saw He- the goddess of marriage outside."
"Hera's here?" demanded Percy, nearly shouting the words without a care for whether she'd notice the use of her name. I scowled, even as Grover seemed to get more and more nervous.
"I guess, since this is a half-blood wedding, she decided..."
Percy practically growled, and I saw a look of pure rage on his face directed at the Queen of Olympus. Probably, if he had to, he'd go out there and start a fight himself to keep her away from his and Annabeth's wedding. Luckily, he had the best cousin in the world to help him out, instead.
"I've got this," I declared, stepping forward and putting a hand on Percy's shoulder. "Leave this to me."
"Hold on..." said Percy, stopping me short as I started to head for the door. "Are you sure? I mean... she can cause all kinds of problems..."
"I know. I've heard all about the shit she's stirred for you and for Annabeth. But I'm mortal, and almost definitely not on her radar. Don't worry about it, Perce. I've got this."
I shot him a wink, then turned and booked it out of the room before either he or Grover could second guess me.
Thankfully, despite being mortal, it didn't take me long to locate Hera once I made it outside the wedding venue. She was practically glowing, and she was the only person in range who had a scowl on her face. I cleared my throat, straightened my shoulders, and shifted into character. Then, I rushed forward and grabbed the nearest person to Hera by the arm. I didn't know her, but I didn't need to for this to work.
"Did you hear?" I asked in a very loud stage whisper. The woman looked at me in absolute confusion, but I continued, just hoping she wouldn't say anything to ruin my play. "I just heard them talking, and they're calling off the wedding."
The woman in front of me gasped, and although I didn't dare look, I could feel Hera's attention shifting to me.
"I know! But it's done. It's like a curse or something, I swear. Everything's been going wrong, and they've been fighting for, like, the past hour. We're working on putting an announcement together for the guests, but like... this is not happening. We all thought they were bulletproof. Apparently not..."
The woman I'd started speaking to looked horrified, but she stopped mattering to me as Hera walked past us, a smirk on her face. Before she reached the corner of the venue, she disappeared into thin air. I smiled.
"Are you... are you serious?" the woman before me asked, her hand flying to her heart. I straightened up and grinned, pausing for one last check that Hera was nowhere in sight before answering.
"Nope! Sorry, weird prank. I thought it'd be a hit, but... clearly not. Enjoy the ceremony!"
The woman scowled, shocked and furious, but I turned and headed inside before she could make a scene. As far as I was concerned, that was a complete mission success. It wouldn't be a forever fix, since Hera would figure out the wedding did actually go on at some point, but hopefully I'd done things well enought that none of us would get in trouble for it. I headed back towards the groom's room to let Percy know the good news, but somebody stopped me just before I rounded the corner to the right hallway.
I looked up to see someone I recognized from a few pictures Percy and Sally had around their houses. Poseidon himself, attending his son's wedding in a Hawaiian shirt and shorts. I narrowed my eyes.
"That was well done," he said, giving me a small smile and nod. I quickly schooled my expression to absolute neutrality.
"I don't know what you're talking about. On an unrelated note, any chance your magic powers would allow you to change into a suit for this wedding? Or at least pants with the Hawaiin shirt?"
Poseidon just stared at me for a long moment, then finally, he started laughing.
"I can see the family resemblance to Sally," he said, clapping a hand on my shoulder and giving me a good-natured smile. "And don't worry. I'm happy to cover for you if anyone starts asking questions."
I sighed. It wasn't an answer to my pants question, but it was a promise to lie to Hera for me, so... I guess I'd take it.
"Thanks. And thanks for coming. I know it'll mean a lot to Percy."
Poseidon gave another smile and nod, then headed off to join the rest of the wedding guests. I watched him go for a moment, then took a deep breath and turned to go find Percy like I'd been trying to do. Never a dull moment since I'd reconnected with this side of the family, but I'd also never regretted it for a second.
Percy was over the moon when I'd told him, and not long after, he and Annabeth finally walked down the isle and said their vows. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, and by some miracle, we didn't get a reappearance from Hera. After so many pictures everyone in the wedding party was ready to drop, we moved on to an absolutely outstanding reception. With literal magical Olympians in attendance, the party got immediately into full swing, and continued long into the early hours of the next morning.
After whirling around the dancefloor for more songs in a row than I could count, I finally made my way to plop down at a table for just a few moments of breathing and taking the weight off my feet. At least half the guests had already called it a night, but a core of us were still going.
As I took a deep breath, Percy emerged from the dancefloor's crowd and made his way over to me, too. I grinned as I saw him coming, raising the glass of water I'd found in toast.
"Congratulations," I said as he sat down next to me, a massive, dopey smile on his face. "Again."
"Thanks. And thanks for the help today with... You Know Who. Don't know what we would've done without you."
I grinned. "Sure thing, Perce. I missed a lot of Olympian days when you were in the middle of the shit, and even if I hadn't, I know I probably wouldn't have been able to help much. So I'm glad I'm able to help now."
Percy smiled and leaned over to give my shoulder a squeeze, then slumped back in his chair. We sat for a few moments in comfortable silence, watching fondly as our friends and loved ones continued to destroy the dance floor.
In another moment or two, I knew we'd be dragged back into the middle of it, both with smiles on our faces. But it was nice to be able to take a quick breather with my favorite cousin amidst the festivities to just sit back and enjoy the moment.
