I will be really honest but I don't have a lot of time to draw in general so my process is more 'this is between cosmic entities, the 30minutes I have and me, I draw whatever the fck happens in my head' rather than having really complex steps :'))

I have some speedpaints! (I record them a lot it helps me for some details)

I think this one is the most representative of how I work

I doodle a lot of stuff on the same file and I often go to one drawing to another because I can't draw more than 30min/1hour on a drawing most of the time ://

When doing bigger illustrations I do sometimes just really quick doodles to have the idea, doodle or some notes on my phone notepad (and I wrote a lot on it too, here is a chaotic example of a stuff I never finished that makes me laugh so hard)

I don't do lineart too, and mostly just 'clean' my sketches/doodles, and I do a sketch for colors too (to test stuff) before doing the 'clean colors' on bigger pieces.

I use one layer for the sketch, one for the basic background and one layer for the colors, then merge everything to paint over it. (I use some effects on layers for colors then merge them)

I have a really doodling/sketchy style (and no time) so it works for me but tbh it really depends on what you want for your artstyle too. If you like flat colors I think colored lines look better than just sketch but this is my preference ^^

hey starbs! I was wondering something, I know you are studying biolgy in uni and as someone who wants to be a biolgist but has been told im too "artistic and creative" to spend my life working with such precise things. I know you are also and artist, obviously, how has it been for you that you are a creative person, yet working with a course that is so strict to what it is (like not incudlign the different types of biolgist, like how you work there you rcant do what you want like you could with art or writing etc)

do you have any advice on how to reach for this goal or how youve felt just wanting to be a biolgist? im struggling alot with future stuff and it would be nice to hear from a fellow artist. (keep up the great work)

I'll be honest and say that studying Biology was a bit of a rushed decision (?)

I had no idea what I truly wanted to do while studying for the entrance exam. I knew I enjoyed different subjects and could work flexibly, but depending on the path I took, things would become either enjoyable or difficult for me. Biology has always been a subject I loved as a kid, but never something I was constantly interacting with growing up. With art that was different. I was definitely more passionate and skilled at art than at anything else.

I would have choosed to work with art, if only I had scored higher in the entrance exam and if only it was easy to make art for a living. Still, I don't regret choosing to study Biology.

It was a little discouraging in the beginning with how little I knew about the subject. Some students had far more knowledge than I ever had growing up. Some of them know exactly how a biology major will help them in the future. There were also people like me who had no idea what they wanted to do, but were willing to learn.

Turns out that Biology is one of the least precise things you could ever work with. Sciences in general is a subject that functions on uncertainty, and is what brings people forward to gather more information. My Plant Anatomy teacher often says "Mas é isso né gente, as plantas não lêem livros" (Which can be translated to "But yeah, plants don't read books"), because very often you'll find exceptions and unexplainable occurances everywhere (In this case, students are taught not to make assumptions about certain morphological characteristics that are present in plants... but not in all of them).

Artistic and creative are traits that are incredibly helpful and often necessary as skills. In a more literal approach, it might help you understand illustrated examples and "train your eye" for the tiniest details. Using your creativity as a tool to learn will immediately make things easier for you. I can't always draw and paint like I used to, but I can say that "motor proteins travelling along microtubules look like tiny people going for a walk :D" and never forget the information.

Being creative helps you make analogies with already existing information, so it's easier to retain it. I could also say "motor proteins travelling along microtubules remind me of Michael Afton walking down the sidewalk :D" and it's even easier to remember! Play with the information like it's a toy. If you can explain it to a 5 year old, that's because you learned.

But of course, there will always be classes that are more difficult than others. Mathematics will always be that one for me. You can't escape the challenging parts ^^'

Overall, it really depends on the person. It might work for me, and it might not work for you. The key is to explore and experiment on your own pace. Answers will come to you if you keep searching for them.

My best advice (in any major you're choosing), which will likely save your time, energy and sanity, is to find people like you. Not necessarily people who share similar interests as you, but people that you can count on and share your struggles — and they'll sometimes share their own. Befriending people often keeps you grounded and less anxious about how you'll perceive yourself and the future. It's a win-win interaction. Everyone is struggling, so we'll help each other out.

Remember it's okay to not know things right away. Remember it's okay that you're not as skilled as x person. Remember it's okay to be kind to yourself.

I could be saying all of this, but every day there's a huge effort to remind myself to take it slow. Reality oftens becomes skewed when we don't give ourselves a break.

I hope I helped you somehow, with the little to no experience I've had over the past few months. Wishing you and any other person reading this and who's in a similar situation good luck.

Okay this is extremely random and hopefully you don’t mind me asking *inhale* BUUUUUT I ate an edible for the first time today and since I do believe you have experience in the weed business you could help me understand this more cuz like I ate about a third of a full edible n im not sure how many mgs were in it but like do you think it was too weak because I thought it’d be like… me tripping out and discovering the secrets of the universe and making jokes so uncharacteristically hilarious that it scares people but all I did was get so loving and joyous and horny and laughing at everything to now im just hungry as fuck. Overall I felt different for about 5 or 6 hours. But it wasn’t like crazy or anything, all it did was put me in a relaxed and happy mood but physically I felt nothing. Was that liek a weak dose or does that sound normal and would eating more next time get me more fucked up … if you know. I’m sorry if that question is stupid like i said it’s my first time n idk what im doing 💔

NO UR GOOD DON'T WORRY it's good to ask people but i gotta say im unfortunately not as experienced as id like to be, ive only ever tried smoking and homemade edibles :/ BUT i might still be able to help you here!!!!! it sounds like you were only a little high like in one of the lowest "levels". i get like that when im smoking and only take a few hits. barely feel anything physically but i do get hornier and more relaxed (and sometimes sleepy)

the first time you try weed it's very common that one of two things will happen: either you won't feel almost anything or it hits so hard you might even get a bad trip. that's like a very common thing, most people react like that and it was like that for me too (the first time i ever tried it i was at the beach and barely felt anything at all, just kept staring at the waves wondering when it was gonna hit and then i got sleepy and went home). another thing is if you're eating it the effects can take a long long long time to actually hit. like to me personally it's usually almost two hours until im actually feeling it and then three hours until it peaks. when it does i get a really good trip for around three or sometimes (depends on the mgs and what else i consumed during the day) even four hours and then it starts going away. there are some things you can do to feel it faster like eating it in an empty stomach but i don't recommend it at all. also if you eat it with chocolate or milk for whatever insane reason it tends to last a little longer i have no idea why?? but it's a real thing, it's why pot brownies (or any recipe involving chocolate) are so popular

did you have a trip sitter or just anyone else with you? if they had tried it before and ate as much as you did and managed to get high it was probably just because it was your first time. if you didn't eat as much as them it's also possible that you didn't eat "enough" (BUUUUT if you didn't cook it yourself it's like always better if you start by eating very little then you wait like an hour to see how you feel, if you don't feel anything THEN and Only Then you eat some more. if you didn't cook it yourself, you don't know how strong it is yk? better safe than sorry you don't want an unexpected green out). and if you ate the same amount and it was also their first time then maybe you just have a stronger metabolism it happens sometimes. if you wanna try again i recommend eating the same amount and waiting, if you only feel the same thing again maybe try eating some more and waiting even more

if it's eating not smoking it's good to take like a whole evening for that because like i said trips from edibles last way longer. can go for even eight hours sometimes

Ahhh, in the bad end au nobody manages to escape the dungeons! As such, jester isn’t allowed to regain their place as announcer, instead demoted to a floor one enemy. So, Lady Luck needed a new announcer. A new face for the cams. Who better to use than the very girl who arrived JUST to catch a glimpse of her hero? I mean, she’s already camera and media savvy! And that smiley optimism of of hers is so useful :)

So tldr she’s the announcer now and is having the worst best time of her life :)

When reading fics , do you care if it’s got a lot of like non dialogue lol

I’m trying to write my first fic and I have a lot of like story telling and not so much dialogue yet

moments without dialogue can be my favorite parts of fics :DD the only time that a lack of dialogue for a long period of time may turn people away is if it feels out of character- like if ur writing from say, george's pov, and it just feels like very general observations with none of what i would expect from him, then it may put me slightly off the fic, buttt obviously that's something that can be really hard to get right :o

dialogue used to be least favorite thing in the world to write lawl, but then something about writing mundane ass dnf conversations just made it click for me hehe

How did you come up with the names for your OCs? I have a lot of character ideas, but keep struggling to come up with good names for them.

I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW. I HAVE OCS WITH WACK NAMES LIKE,,, my babies Eggs & Bacon (i cannot. talk about them a lot because i genuinely have nothing to say about them and they be a bit personal) one of my main OCs is one of my net names but backward (EVOD), some of them are like. i mean. one of them will have silly names like "Glue" or smthing and i'll work with it somehow--

however! have a seat .

what i used to do and i still kinda do; search up names with meanings! if i have an OC with a concept already, i'd see if any names would either fit their concept or something they like! i'm trying to think of an example but... Zerum's real name (Alistar) means defender, but some definitions say it means warrior. I also spelled it as such instead of 'Alistair' because he's part star-child (a species i made up! could be a story for another day bc the worldbuilding has an indefinite hiatus and i never. finalized it.)

another example of themes is whatever i'm doing with Aza and her world-building; her name is inspired by a demon but other charas are just straight-up named after demons. their roles also match with the names- Aza's step-brother, Malphas, is named after. well. the prince of hell- and he is also a prince of hell, wowzers!

some names are temporary! Dot's name is temporary despite having it for... years. and tbh i just kept it as a nickname for them, their real name is still being thought of bhBFHJVFJ

sometimes i'd just give them words or titles as names. like... EVOD is often known as 'The Operator'! I thought of a "new" OC kinda recently but i don't feel like working w them a lot rn and their name is like,,,, Nine??? I think?? I. I forgot but it was a number- should've written it down,,, man. no they're not nine years old btw

other tips i can think of; if your OC is from a specific culture, you can name them after something related to wherever they're from. :> even if it's inspired by a culture--

AH, YOU CAN MAKE UP A NAME TOO TBH BC THOSE BE FUN!

tbh don't stress too hard on it because you can always change their names! one of my OCs had her name changed 8 different times (went from Dae, to Dai, to Daishi, and now Chihiro.) and like. honestly?? have fun experimenting and go with what's best for you! you can always have temporary names! :3
