Hello, just a fellow The Originals fan here. Do you think Jackson could have been a better character if the writers decided to make him part of Hayley's biological family, instead of a love interest?
I think as a brother, or even as a cousin, he would have worked better. He being so protective of her as a wolf in season 1 would make more sense, he would want to protect his long lost sister and unborn niece, instead of following her just because she's his fiancée.
Jackson would care more for Hope as he did her stepfather, maybe seeing her as a second chance, after not being able to protect Hayley in the past. Having lost his entire family as a child, he would relate to Hayley losing her child in some kind of way and definitly would not abandon her. After Hope's return, I could see him working with Elijah to make the wolves of the bayou their personal army (to avoid the wedding plot, maybe Davina o Freya could find a loophole and resolve the situation as such).
So... Sorry for possible grammar mistakes, this is not my first language, and... well, I'm waiting for your response
Tumblr media
Hi love! Thanks for asking!
I absolutely wish we could have seen Hayley have actual family. She searched her whole life for her family and even sacrificed 12 of her friends for their location. Only to find them and essentially be rejected by them, except for when she has something to offer. I love found families, which is why I love her connection to the Mikaelsons, but I would have loved for her to build that connection with her pack. She began to have it with Eve, but after Eve was killed, we don't really see her build that bond with anyone else.
This is where the show failed to develop a love triangle. I don't like love triangles, but especially this one. Even when I don't like both ships, I can usually see why people are torn. But in order to make the audience torn, you have to make the character torn as well. We don't really see that from Hayley. She isn't torn between two men, rather torn between a man she loves and the simple life she wants. She likes the idea of marrying Jackson because he represents the life she could have had if her parents hadn't been murdered. And this is only after she is forced to even consider it in order to save her daughter. They didn't have to completely remove him as a love interest to make them have a better relationship. They simply needed to invest in the character/ relationship.
We can compare this to the other love triangle in this fandom. I liked early Stelena and can't stand Delena, but I can see why people ship them. People were shipping Delena since season 1, even when it seemed that Stelena was endgame. This is a successful love triangle. But people shipped them because we saw moments between Delena where he was vulnerable and she felt like she was the only one who could fix him. We could see them begin to develop feelings, even just familial ones. We don't get scenes like that with Jayley.
Every moment of vulnerability we see from Hayley is with Elijah or even Klaus. For Jayley to be a competitive ship, I needed to see moments where Hayley was opening up or Jackson was being vulnerable. I needed to see some connection between them other than just being from the same pack or being betrothed. I also needed to see Jackson understand that Hayley wasn't Andrea. He was so busy trying to "save" her from the Mikaelsons that he never realized how similar to them she was. They could have had her tell him about how she helped get 12 wolves killed and have him have to process/understand that, understand who she became because his grandfather killed her parents. They had a complex history and really could have been a complex ship. But we never get to see them share anything personal and develop that complexity.
Which brings me to your point. If Jackson had been related, it would have really changed the dynamic. Hayley would still feel torn between her family and the Mikaelsons but it wouldn't have been so difficult. We don't really see Hayley taking Jackson's romantic interest in her into consideration in season 1 at all. She really only mentions it to push Elijah to act. Other than that, we don't see any romantic connection. They basically were just family. But the real shift would be the hierarchy of the pack.
One thing I've mentioned that I hate about the Crescent pack is the confusing hierarchy. Part of this is due to the fact that the pack actually split in two and developed two different "royal" families. My other issue is the monarchy aspect. Packs are meant to be led by the strongest members, members who are chosen or earn it, it doesn't matter what family they come from. This is something they seemed to ignore in TO because they wanted to position Hayley and Klaus and King and Queen. I hated this. Hayley was always referred to as a queen, even having the pack kneel for her (ew), while Jackson is referred to as the alpha, not the king.
If they were related, theoretically, one of them would have a better claim to the pack rather than being from rival families. To me, Hayley or Aiden should have been alpha. We don't see Jackson ever step up for the pack the way we see Aiden and Hayley. In a normal pack, if the alpha runs off and someone else steps up, they would challenge that position. But here, Jackson just comes back and resumes his position. I would have liked to see a challenge. This is why monarchies are bad. They are allowed to rule no matter what they do, they don't have to improve or even try.
You're definitely right about the protective as a wolf thing though. I was always confused by what level of understanding the pack had as wolves. We are told in TVD that the wolves don't remember when they turn and don't have control. This is what makes hybrids different. But the Crescent Wolves seemed to remember their time as wolves and even control it. Maybe this is due to the curse or just one of many plot holes, who knows. But we already know that the wolves naturally are drawn to family. Ansel was drawn to Klaus as a child and then to Hope in his wolf form. That would have made sense for Jackson to be drawn to Hayley as his family and his wolf being protective. I don't think it would make sense to say his wolf was protective simply because of an arranged marriage.
It also would have shifted Jackson's motivations. To me, it felt like every interaction between Jackson and Hayley was motivated by Jackson's desire to fulfil his childhood dream of marrying his lost Andrea. It broke my heart for Hayley that the first chance she gets to meet her family, Jackson tells her he is disappointed by it and the rest of her family just ignores her. I would have loved Jackson to hold off on the obligations and just get to know Hayley. Maybe ask how she's feeling about being pregnant or offer her some stories about her (their) family. If he was biologically related to her, this would have been more of her focus. And to your point, he would have been more interested in the baby since it was his family. It would have been more impactful to see them bond over losing their family, of being forced out of their homes. They really did have a lot they could have bonded over but the show just didn't let them.
It would have made him take Hayley more seriously as a political leader of the pack, rather than just a potential wife. The pack was terrible at politics and part of this could have been because they lived most of their lives as wolves. They should have welcomed Hayley's experience and intelligence and even her connection to the Mikaelsons. Ironically, the pack had the arranged marriage because they understood it could help create peace between the warring packs. You would think they would understand Hayley's connection to the Mikaelsons could do the same thing. Hayley even bonds with Davina and could have gotten the witches on their side. They could have worked with the Mikaelsons and even the witches to come up with a better solution.
Another issue I have is that the unification ceremony gives the pack the power of the alphas, but why wouldn't Hayley just taking over the pack and them swearing their allegiance to her give them her power? The magic just felt so forced. There seemed to be a lot of better options.
Essentially, he didn't need another story line to be a better character. He needed better writing or more time.
Sorry this was so long but I hope I answered it all!

"Listen to me now, Elijah. I promised you that I would do everything in my power to keep your niece safe. And I intend to hold my end of the bargain, but know this…" Y/N said as he cast a glance at the Original brother. "If you, or your siblings, or your girlfriend, Hayley, get in my way, I promise to make you all wish that you had never been born in the first place. You will beg for death when I'm done with you all." Having said his piece, Y/N had the intention of leaving the Mikaelson Abattoir in success, but apparently, Elijah Mikaelson didn't do so kindly to threats made against him and his family.
Y/N tried to leave, but Elijah's fingers found their way onto his arm and held it in an iron tight grip. He turned Y/N to face him, as the normally mild-mannered vampire had such a look of rising anger on his handsome face. "What warrants disrespect from such a juvenile hybrid like yourself?" Elijah's grip tightens even further as his anger is quick to explode. "How dare you enter my family's home and make such threats against us… boy!" Y/N struggled to break Elijah's hold over him, but he's far stronger than him.
"No one calls me, 'boy.'" Y/N tells him. "Now, let me go or you're going to be very sorry, Elijah."
Elijah growled as he showed his vampire face and fangs and slammed Y/N against a wall and roared in his face. "Do not think for one moment that you can best me. I could end your existence before you could even think of attacking me with your magic." The older man looked from his face to his lips as they were both getting turned on by this.
"Go on then." Y/N told him. "Do it."
Elijah crashed his lips down on Y/N's as they both battled for dominance as Elijah eventually won as he began to peel both their clothes off as both of them had hot vampire hate sex against the wall.

Some people have this weird fixation about making Klaus choose Caroline over Hope, especially in fanfics. I’ve seen fics where Klaus abandons Hope, or kills Hayley for disrespecting Caroline, or just ignores Hope in favor of Caroline. Like some people forget Hope’s his daughter - of course, he’s going to choose her over everyone. I think any decent parent would choose their child over a potential girlfriend/boyfriend. And Hayley is Hope’s mom, a very important person in her life. I don’t think Klaus would kill Hayley unless she posed a threat to Hope or if she tried to take Hope away from him. Honestly, I don’t think he would even tolerate people openly disrespecting Hayley in front of Hope, regardless of who it was.
Another thing that I’ve noticed is how people are so determined to make Klaus a father figure to the twins, particularly Lizzie. I’ve read a fic in which Klaus clearly and openly favored Lizzie over his own daughter - which would never happen. I think that if Klaus and Caroline actually did end up together, he still wouldn’t be that present in the twins lives. Since he is overprotective to the extreme, I think that he would hold some resentment over how the twins treated Hope in their younger years. He’s petty enough to hold a grudge against a kid. And anyway, I don’t ever see Alaric allowing Lizzie or Josie to get close to Klaus, no matter what Caroline says.
I don’t know… it’s just weird that people keep diminishing Hope’s relationship with her own father to benefit their ship. Sorry for the rambling.
People fail to remember that Klaus is his own person and not an extension of the ships they like, and that ship half of the time is klaroline because they are obssesed with making him her personal puppy, as if that ever happened in canon.
Granted, Klaus said a few nice things to her and did like two good things to make Caroline not feel so guilty about wanting to fuck him, but other than that there's no way he would ever seriously chose her over his family, especially his own daughter. He chose to save her over Rebekah back in Mystic Falls because his sister is immortal, Caroline isn't.
I've never actually read long klaroline/klamille/klayley fanfiction. Sure, I use to read some oneshots from time to time because they have really good writing, but this fanfics I'll talk about best used to show up while I was in the klaus or mikaelson tag and I used to take a look because I was curious. It has some wild elements, that's for sure.
I've seen a lot of fanfics where they make Caroline some weird ass hybrid/tribrid that manages to be a werewolf, witch and vampire all in one and it's like wtf. They complain constantly about Hope's existence because she breaks canon and yet they make this baby vampire the biggest Mary Sue ever. Yes, the producers created Hope because they wanted to create their own magical baby like Renaissance from Twilight, but they make a fool of themselves by making Caroline be anything but a vampire. Caroline was incredibly mean and a complete hypocrite as a human and don't bring me the "she was insecure and always in Elena's shadow" because I'm insecure too and that doesn't make me be a bitch to the people who love me. Klaus was always threatening her whenever she spoke in a way he didn't like, and that was when she was already the "sunshine vampire" people claim to love so badly, so people who think he would even let her live if he met her as a human are laughable.
Klaroline shippers are so pressed about Hayley being Hope's mother, I can't even tell you how many posts, videos and weird fanfics I've seen of Caroline being her mother and being the "Mikaelson's light". I've said it a lot of times, but the Mikaelson wouldn't like Caroline at all: Rebekah and Hayley were constantly slutshamed by her, Elijah hates people who insult/hurt his family, Kol was literally killed by one of her best friends and he would not be okay with that, Finn couldn't care less and Freya probably just heard bad things from her, if she even knew about her existence. And in top of that, Caroline literally threw a party when she thought Klaus died.
When they have any Mikaelson or Klaus, especially Klaus, kill Hayley, I just lose it. Why the hell would Klaus ever do that? He literally lost his mind when she died, he was a mess and they don't even want to admit he loved Hayley: new flash, he did. She was his family, the mother of his daughter, probably his best and only friend and he loved her. Not in a romantic way, but they still get pressed because how dare Klaus have feelings for anyone other than their queen Caroline.
Also, their obsession with making Caroline be called queen? It's creepy and weird, it must be really annoying for them that Klaus only called Cami and Hayley a queen. Those two girls were a thousand times closer to be considered family by him than Caroline ever could, and his siblings did care for those women too.
This reminds me of a really good point in klaroline fics: if Caroline is the one pregnant with Hope, Klaus will react a lot better. I just can't see this, Klaus’s daddy issues are literally the main point of his character. He hated Mikael as much as he desired his love, he always yearned for one of his parents to care and no one did: Mikael, because he was a piece of shit, Esther, because she was terrified of her husband and there's literally no other reason in canon that explains why she allowed Mikael's abuse and Ansel, because he was forced to stay away and was killed twice. That isn't gonna change just because he got Caroline, sorry to tell you.
I can see him reacting less murderer and less threatening. Alkaline covers this so well and it's one of my favorite Klaus fanfics, if he has a romantic relationship with the woman he got pregnant he wouldn't tell the witches to kill her and their baby, but I do think he would still think at first she cheated, not only because of his paranoia but also because he is supposedly incapable of having kids.
The whole Lizzie and Josie thing is really a good point! I agree, Klaus would never favor the twins over Hope or even Marcel. Those are his kids, he raised them and he never met Josie and Lizzie until they were like what, twelve? Thirteen? He even said people needed to ask him permission to even talk to Hope, he would 100% hold a grudge against the Saltzman twins for being mean to his daughter. I also think that the whole "Klaus would like Lizzie more than Josie" is because physically and in terms of personality, Lizzie is the one that resembles Caroline the most. So when writers have him openly prefer Lizzie isn't only weird, it has some uncomfortable pedophilic vibes.
I've only seen klaroline and some klayley shippers say that about klope, how he would love x girl more than Hope and etc. I hardly doubt they even remember canon Klaus, just their fanfic version because if Klaus ever had to chose he would always chose his daughter. I've also seen, in a lot of fanfics, not only klaroline ones, how Klaus would love more or completely ignore his oc kid (they also have Hope he a complete bitch from the start, even if it's her seven years old version) and it's just strange. There are a lot of reasons why Klaus and Marcel didn't have a stable relationship, mainly all the bad blood between them and the fact that Marcel was already grown up by the time they met, but he never hesitated to put himself in danger for him. Klaus even refused to kill him, knowing he was endangering Hope. I just can't see him ignoring his kid, especially if he got to actually see him/her grow up.
This is not bashing to the writers btw! Sorry if it came out like that.

WIP WEDNESDAY
This is a snippet from chapter 36 of TBBW, a very very rough draft - I haven't done much for this chapter because I'm obvi focusing on editing. However, I'm sure you'll still find it exciting - and a hint to where the fic's plot is taking us next.
Klaus eyed the new girl standing in the Lockwood study, watching as she perused the family’s various collectables and ornaments decorating the room, admiring a painting which Klaus thought rather tacky that was hung over the fireplace. There was a scent about her, tainting the entire room, wet fur and damp earth - a werewolf. Interesting.
“You’re a new face,” he commented, making her jump. She hadn’t noticed he was there.
To give her credit, she recovered quickly, spinning around to face him, taking in his appearance with a sharp eye. Klaus let her look, stepping further into the room, his hands behind his back.
“And I take it from your accent you’re an old one,” she pointed her finger at him, tilting her head in question. “Klaus?”
He smiled down at the floor, amused by her valiant attempt to hide her fear. Unfortunately, her jumping heartbeat gave her away.
“My reputation precedes me. Hopefully not all bad.”
She curled up her lip in obvious disgust. “A little bad. Mostly repulsive.”
His smile dropped, no longer amused at all. He couldn’t work out if her disrespect was foolishness or arrogance.
“So you’re a friend of Tyler’s-” he continued, walking closer towards her, eyes narrowed. “That’s strange. He’s never mentioned you.”
The girl clamped her mouth shut, suddenly with little to say. And that was when Klaus heard his name being said, far away at the other end of the house, by a voice whose cadence he recognised instantly: Caroline.
“You’re kidding me? Klaus?”
Klaus turned his head slightly, frowning as he listened in more intently. He could practically hear the wince in Tyler’s response.
“Yeah, and I really don’t want to piss him off so…You should go to the party. I’ll be fine here.”
“But I’d rather hang with you,” he heard Caroline reply, so tentative and so very hopeful.
Regardless, Tyler shot her down.
“Trust me, I am no fun right now.”
Why would Tyler turn her away? The petty, vindictive boy Tyler was, no doubt he’d jump at the chance to have Caroline on his arm while Klaus was in the house. A childish fuck you, since he couldn’t turn the hybrids protecting him away. So why say no? His mother was out, so she wouldn’t intrude, he was alone in the house except for-
Klaus’ gaze fell back on the new girl, looking at her in a new light. Suddenly, her presence took on an entirely different meaning, one that Klaus didn’t like at all.
“And I think I know why,” Klaus continued, shooting her a smile that was all teeth.
“Okay. Well, I’ll see you later then?”
“Yeah, I’ll call you,”
“Yeah, okay.”
Klaus felt his hands clench behind his back, an anger settling his chest at sheer disappointment and hesitance he heard in Caroline’s voice, like she had done something wrong. The nerve of this boy-
“Tell me…” he trailed off, pointedly looking at the girl.
“Hayley,” she answered quickly.
“Hayley,” Klaus echoed, beginning to circle around her. “Tell me, Hayley, how did you and Tyler meet?”
She shifted her weight to one side, folding her arms around her chest. Defensive. “I ran with the pack he sought help from.”
“To break my sire bond?” Klaus asked, her face confirming his suspicions. He waved the panicked look in her eyes away. “Yes, I know all about that. So, you are one of the Outcast then.”
Hayley frowned, shaking her head in confusion and looking rather impatient, as if he was rambling nonsense. “Outcast?”
“Werewolves like yourself and Tyler: descendants of the same wolves that stabbed their brethren in the back for a chance of mercy. Doomed to forever wander in aimless, disjointed  packs,” he explained, stopping behind her, forcing her to turn to face him. His mouth curled into a sneer of his own. “Traitorous little things.”
She scoffed, smiling a little. “I literally have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“No. You wouldn’t,” Klaus drawled, tilting his head again, in that wolf-like way. Her smile fell. “Allow me to enlighten you,” he continued, pointing a finger at her, “You see, werewolves like you, like the others I made my hybrids - they know not of our nature. Instead of making a stand, staying to fight against the vampires and witches alike - your ancestors ran and hid. And in hiding, they failed to teach their children the ways of our kind. The traditions, the knowledge, the culture. All was lost until they were so far from what they are, they believe their wolf is a curse. Outcast. Alone. Forgotten.”
“Lycanthropy is a curse.”
Klaus grinned. “Is it?”
Her eyes narrowed, taking a step back from him, clearly ill at ease with what he had just said. “What would you know of our histories? You’re more vampire than wolf, I know that at least.”
“My father is what we call an Alpha of Alphas. A King,” he said, closing the distance between them, not allowing her to escape. “Do you know what that makes me, Hayley?”
“Am I supposed to say Prince Charming?” she sneered, all disgust and foolish defiance.
Something dangerous settled in Klaus’ gaze, violent and spiteful.
“Werewolves follow power. They do not follow weak Kings.” His hand shot out, enclosing around her throat and lifting her up by the neck. His eyes bled black and gold, veins crawling across his cheeks. “Do I look weak to you?” he growled out through sharp fangs.
“No,” Hayley choked out, fingers scrambling at the hand holding her throat.
“Then tread more carefully then, because unlike my father, I am not prone to mercy," he snarled in her ear, tightening his fingers around her throat for emphasis. "And learn to curb your tongue or you will find yourself without it,” he said, almost as an after thought, before letting her go. She dropped to the floor, gasping in lungfuls of air and curling over, coughing. Klaus cocked his head, his expression suddenly serene once more. He looked almost bored. When she looked up at him with wide, frightened eyes, he raised a brow, gesturing to the door impatiently. “Go.”
She didn’t need telling twice.

heeey bestie!!! I hope you're enjoying your trip, the photos are incredible and I'm a little jealous kkkk
So, new prompt for when you return from your hiatus/vacation:
I was rewatching some Paramore/Hayley interviews and Tayley really gave me the vibe that if someone was disrespectful to Taylor, Hayley would jump into the fight (physically if necessary) to defend the man. Like that interview at Webster Hall when Taylor says that there was someone who didn't like him and she says that the person didn't have taste (something like that, my English is shit as you can see).
Anyway, I can only imagine how funny it would be to see Hayley wanting to hit someone to defend Taylor who is twice her size lol
PS: Tumbler writers, this prompt is for you too.
Thank you so much, my holiday has been really great ❤
Ohh!!! This sounds like such a Hayley thing to do!!! I can totally picture this even more so with a younger H!!! 🤭
I don't know when I could have it up though, i have so muchhhhhh yet to finish when it comes to the prompts (hello T light assistant) and also, I will get to the other asks soon?, but anyways wanted answer this so if any other writer gets inspired they can write this prompt 🥰
Thanks for always sending great ideas!!
Ps. Any specific interviews that got that idea in your mind??? Maybe I'll go re watch some to get inspire :)
Ps2: your english is great, never apologize for that I butcher words all the time 🤭😊

Eerie coincidences leading up to season 8's Goodbye Stranger
I swore I'd never talk about this episode, but it features a jealous guy named Spencer (he who "dispenses"), a "Jimmy," and a girl named after the "forgiveness" character in The Merchant of Venice and is reminiscent of Porsche/"fancy car."
But I will say that this is so very, very, incredibly, jaw-droppingly Chuck-coded:
SPENCER: Of course you don't. Neither of you ever considered my feelings. JAMES: Portia? This is about her? SPENCER: Can you imagine the insult when she chose you? I wanted her as my soul mate the moment I saw her. When she picked you...I endured it. But when you two went all Bella and Edward, broke the code, put your passions before the community rules, well, the arrogance, the entitlement was too much. Your total ruination seemed appropriate.
This is the infamous, cruel, disrespectful 8x15 Man's Best Friend with Benefits. (Skip it, it's not worth the egregious racism). Nevertheless, there is a remarkably consistent throughline running through many of these throwaway episodes, coming just before 8x17 Goodbye Stranger.
James "Jimmy" is a man being forced to "act out" murders, just as Cas is acting out and committing murders for Heaven. Like Cas, he's pushing his (would-be) lover away. He shouts her to "GO," Just as Cas shouted Dean to "GO" in Purgatory.
When I think about the ruination of the Nephilim-coded things being destroyed in seasons 8 and 15, all I can see is Chuck sundering Earth from Heaven.
///
And here, in 8x16 Remember the Titans, we have a Zeus behaving remarkably similar to how The Empty does in 14x08 Byzantium. Zeus cursed Prometheus to die over and over, and his seven-year-old son is now awakening to the same fate.
ZEUS: Tell me, has Prometheus experienced the child's death yet? [HAYLEY gives a nod.] How did he take it? Did he hurt? [HAYLEY nods again.] Good. [ZEUS points his fingers at SHANE/PROMETHEUS who falls to his knees attempting to breathe.] 8x16: Remember the Titans
...
COSMIC ENTITY: Stop interrupting! Start paying attention. I'm taking him. And where I'm taking you is worse than Hell… because at least Hell is something. Ohh. Ohh, God, they look scared. Does that hurt you? Good… because I want it to. [Cas deploys his angel blade to attack, but the Entity flings him across the room] 14x08: Byzantium
///
In season 7, Cas refers to his own resurrection as, "I don't die - I'm brought back again. I see now. It's a punishment resurrection. It's worse every time." 7x23: Survival of the Fittest
///
The Prometheus himself is dressed a little bit as season 1 Sam, as a boy hated by God, but narratively, he's Cas.
SAM: Of course not. You were afraid big daddy would find out that you fell for the person he hates most in this world.
Makes you wonder if Cas's instincts are right? Perhaps, Chuck actually hates Cas. Perhaps, it really is a sadistic punishment resurrection, and he actually lives and breathes to see Cas and Dean separated.
...
And again here, Zeus's rage has so much in common what what the Empty will be like:
ZEUS: You like being an immortal, don't you? [He's kneeling in front of OLIVER again.] Oh, sure, you die every day, but nothing can keep you dead. [ZEUS looks over at SHANE who is lying on the ground.] It's almost like taking a little nap. All of your cares and worries disappear for a little while. Well, it's sleepy time, my dear boy. [His tone is like a loving grandfather, he stands, both hands crackling with lightning.] I never get tired of watching you die. [ZEUS, holding SHANE up, says it right into his ear.] Your boy is going on the mountain.
...
[The entity kicks CASTIEL.] COSMIC ENTITY: Just let’s lay down. Let’s just try and sleep. Hmm? Think about it. Infinite peace, yes? No regrets. No pain. Kiddo, save yourself.
///
I think Chuck is absolutely seething over Cas and Dean being in love in season 8.
Cas did not steal fire, but he did rip up the pages at the end of season 4. In season 10, his grace is reintroduced in a library, amongst fluttering pages, as a story-destroyer.
The theme of the angel-human hybrid family is ever-present in season 8, and the total ruination of the hybrid angel-human family is ongoing in season 15.
At the end, only Sam's family remains. The "pure," "good," "Noah-like" one. Heaven and Earth are split once more.

I hate how you treat Hayley in your fics. I like reading your fics but hate when you write one's for Elijah because you always make Hayley the jealous girlfriend. Like for once can you just make it were Elijah is happy with Hayley.
I mean cause Hayley and Elijah were always meant to be. And you shouldn't hate Hayley because she loved Elijah. I saw in another one of your posts that you prefer Elijah with Katherine or Gia or Aya. Okay 🙄, Katherine is just a whore who can't pick between brothers and Gia is a boring baby vamp that Elijah was using to get over Hayley. Also Aya and Elijah don't go together. You just hate Hayley because she is the better girlfriend for Elijah.
Tumblr media
Okay?! Look you don't have to read my stuff if you don't like it. I am not going to entertain this with how I really feel about Hayley being with Elijah.
Also don't disrespect my girl Katherine who was literally given a shitty hand in life. In my opinion I don't think Katherine didn't really love Damon or Stefan, she was just using them both. And Gia was a sweetheart who didn't deserve to die.

sometimes i feel like y’all are a little disrespectful when it comes to the tayley timeline. they were both in individual relationships for years, they didn’t secretly love each other since middle school no matter how much you all want to believe it!!
hayley has spoken SO honestly about how bad she felt throughout her entire relationship with chad considering it started out as an affair, she also has spoken about how she tried so hard to save their relationship even though she knew it was beyond the point of saving.
implying she was in love with taylor that whole time really belittles the shit that she went through. i don’t think, after hearing about how much it impacted her, that she would’ve began her relationship with taylor under similar circumstances (starting some kind of a relationship whilst already in one).
i think, cool, if you want to believe that then fine and of course for all we know it could be true but sometimes i’m just a little like.. it seems unfair to put that on them when we have no idea and it seems so against everything hayley has expressed previously.
i don't think anyone is being disrespectful, or they're not trying to be on purpose. if you believe they didn't love each other since middle school then that's fine, some people here agree with that to too, but i haven't said she loved him since then, but if i, or anyone else believe he has then that's fine. it's just speculation.
nowhere has anyone said that hayley started her relationship with taylor as an affair or through similar circumstances. maybe falling in love with someone or developing new feelings for them can happen without someone actually acting on them. those feelings can also exist before she ever recognized or admitted them to herself. she also stated once that she realized the started to love ch*d like a brother, so there was clearly a point she was fully checked out romantically. she also said she knew the relationship was doomed the moment it started and she was waiting for it to happen.
there is no belittling of anything going on. even in the timeline made, nowhere did it say anything about when they fell in love with each other as we obviously don't know and only have hayley's word of not even knowing the moment she fell, and us just judging taylor's relationship with his ex. you're acting like we have said they had some kind of affair when no one has said that. you're entitled to your opinion but this feels a little weird to put words in my mouth or these thoughts/ideas that i know i've never said/had.

Speaking of women being disrespected in the scene I have to bring up this. Remember how people were pressuring Paramore to no longer perform misery business because of its misogynistic lyrics and what not. Eventually it worked and then they decided to retire the song. Yet they were the same people ready to riot if Brendon Urie took I write sins not tragedies off the set list. I don’t know about you but it just seems like it’s a bit of a double standard. Not just that but there are so many other songs where men are degrading women or saying horrible things in those songs have become staples in the scene or even just songs that are important to the band as an individual. Yet as soon as a woman makes a song with a little bit of calling out man it’s a mediately seen as disrespectful. I mean that’s not surprising but it’s just sad how women can’t have a place in this genre the same way that men can.
In fairness from what I've followed of the Misery Business situation it was still very much Hayley's choice; granted there was also pressure from fans but she if she really wanted to keep it in their sets, she could have easily gone 'screw you it's our song and we'll keep playing it' and I mean, she's Hayley fucking Williams, who's gonna stop her, but instead she decided to go the other way on her own terms (https://www.nme.com/news/music/paramores-hayley-williams-reiterates-stance-on-misery-business-controversy-2623227)
Tbh I kind of respect them for looking at a song Hayley wrote when she was 17, recognising it might have a harmful message and deciding not to play it anymore, even if it is their biggest hit; on top of that, popular as MB is, Paramore have plenty of other really great songs (Ignorance, crushcrushcrush, For A Pessimist, etc.) maybe it's time for one of them to overtake MB
I do personally think cutting Misery Business from shows and playlists isn't really necessary, it would have been fine to just acknowledge That Line and keep playing it, but again, it does seem like it was still the band's own choice rather than caving to pressure. It does seem from the interviews they might be open to returning that song to their shows in the future, so it's not necessarily a permanent retirement, so there's that
But you are right, there is definitely a double standard for men and women writing controversial/edgy lyrics. I mean, there are some pretty misogynistic lines in a good half of the big Early 2000s songs ("Girls don't like boys, girls like cars and money" - GC, "I need a girl that I can train" - Blink-182) in fact there's probably far more examples from Blink's catalogue alone, but those are rarely if ever talked about. Hopefully as we go forward as a society we can begin to erase that double standard

Hayley, proponent of grand maritime theft
I have decided to make a bio for another of the characters from the lime house universe.
History thus far:
Despite her current depressing life in the greatest britain (as opposed to lesser britain, also called Sealand), Hayley was never really built for such dismal climes. Born in sunny southern California and with a childhood consisting mostly of sand and shopping malls, she would seem for all the world like the type of girl to graduate college with a degree in communications and go into online influencing, marketing perhaps. Of course, life is never so cut and dry, and the economic situation of America didn't help. Because the government and military were in the process of organising Operation New Leaf (the Octavia invasion), they didn't really care how much debt the country got into, as the plan was that it would all be swept away. Thus it became a period of insane subsidies and income for all, the people in power trying very hard to make people like them enough that when the army started running around blowing things up the people wouldn't revolt. Shopping malls came back with a vengeance, people with more money than they knew what to do with spent their nights trawling the wharfs and towns, clubbing til the waves got high enough for a swim and a surf - using the expensive new government floodlights. Nobody knew quite where the money was coming from, but for new adult Hayley this was paradise. Wandering the coastline with her gang and falling into situations that looking back she cringes upon eventually led her to an even more challenging prospect. Hayley likes to be challenged by things (one of the reasons she is intensely bored in westminster), and stealing yachts... that was a challenge. Sure she had stolen bikes, wallets, keys before, but it just stopped being interesting after a while. Find someone strolling the beach or in a quiet corner, talk them up, feel up where the most likely score was and then flick it out while canoodling. Most people she got them from were too drunk to remember her face anyway. You could not, however, canoodle with a boat.
Hayley therefore took up ship-boarding. You got them all the time, newly wealthy middle-managers high off the government-subsidised income blowing it all on a fancy looking boat. A wiser person would not be so stupid as to let Hayley and two of her friends onto his boat, so she never bit off more than she could chew. She was always good in that way, possessed of the rare instinct of when to fuck off. She had no trouble at all finding marks though, men whose eyes got about as far up her body as her bikini and stopped, drunkards laughing in the night and calling them up from where they lazily floated around the boat to take a drink. After all, why wouldn't you invite three hot women with razor sharp diving knives and knuckledusters onto your boat. Truly, more money automatically makes you wiser. Once on the boat and after securing any guns on board it was fairly easy to either intimidate or surreptitiously steal keys from the owners before dumping them into the sea with a life buoy.
After looting the boats they were usually either cleaned and dumped or sold. Hayley's new wealth went mostly into an offshore account or on paying off by lump sum a highly expensive and yet totally irrelevant college degree. By this point she was very comfortable and frankly did not even need the degree anymore (hers was in psychology, and as it should be clear to anyone who has read this, she did not have the patience for risk assessments or ethical analyses). She instead planned to slot neatly into a management role in a front company owned by someone who owed her a favour (several extremely large favours) and enjoy a respectable salary doing a disrespectable job.
In one of the government's greatest acts of secrecy, Operation New Leaf managed to start without any leaks reaching the press. Helicopters bearing the new "Octavia" flag dropped off soldiers across the country, who made a big show of shooting and blowing up buildings before taking the reigning party hostage and declaring their new nation. Once people realised that they were not going to get shot they mostly went back to normal, but the sham martial law that was declared caused Hayley to get caught wandering down the street with a stolen wallet in her handbag. Thus she made a run for it and stowed away on a cargo ship bound for Britain. By bribing and knowing roughly how a ship of such size operated she managed to stay as an engine cleaner until she could hop on a lifeboat and sneak off towards the coast.
She went the wrong way.
Ending up in france was not quite the end of the world, as she had taken french in school. She hitchhiked to paris, only needing to menace one touchy driver with her knife, and arrived in the centre with what mattered most - her card with the offshore account. It still worked, so clearly her identity hadn't been discovered, and she began a long sojourn as a maid working primarily in english-speaking hotels and holiday homes, of which there were a pretty large amount. Eventually, she found a job with Valerie Artagne during the summer months, and decided to stay on long-term with her even after discovering several drugs that even in her old life she would have failed to come by. Valerie, for her part, was only too happy to have a criminal watching over her flat, as she was very used to hiding expensive things from prying eyes and in the grand scheme of things Hayley's eyes were not that prying. Hayley, being asexual, also could be relied upon to take a very no-nonsense attitude to the people Valerie brought home, which was invaluable when they woke up in the morning demanding more sex.
Eventually Valerie headed home to see her friend-with-benefits-but-also-just-a-friend Jamie, and Hayley tagged along with her. Passport control was a bit irritating but Valerie hit upon the excellent idea of blagging a ride on the british embassy's private jet. Jamie went into parliament, Hayley needed a job and Valerie persuaded her it would be both easy and safe to get a job in the houses of parliament. It was easy because everyone else left due to the limes, and it was safe because nobody wanted to sack the only person who seemed to want to work there. Hayley is now effectively in charge of all the maintenance personnel directly employed by the houses of parliament as well as the one who compiles all the information from each day's meetings. She does not enjoy herself very much.
Personality:
Hayley is, at heart, quite a passionate person, which is why she gets along well with Valerie. She knows what she likes and spends much of her time missing it. However, the majority of her time in parliament she is a very sober and matter-of-fact person, going through the motions of her job enough that she isn't written up on it.
Hayley is also loyal. Once she has decided to be, that is. Criminals are not known for their loyalty, but Hayley has enough wealth to afford a moral compass at this stage in her career, and will not betray someone she likes, despite these people often not knowing that she likes them. The Lime Disposal Squad's cabal of socially inept ex-nerds, for instance, have earned a place in her heart from resolutely trying to clean limes out of her office, despite the fact that she seems to them as very severe. This is what has kept them from being shut down and replaced with a more professional body.
She prefers a roundabout approach to problems rather than trying to tackle them head on. This makes her excellent as a negotiator in delicate political matters that most of the current elected officials are underequipped for (given they only got in after all the previous ones left), and she has been known to give even the more influential MPs a going over when they start throwing too many limes. None of them want to go to the press over it because the press is as yet unaware that lime throwing is the primary method of conflict resolution in Westminster.
Wardrobe:
When one's preferred wardrobe was designed for a basically year long summer spent on a beach one is not exactly adapted to a life spent in London. Most of Hayley's outfit centerpieces are jackets or trench coats aside from when she's going somewhere suitably warm for her to show off (literally anywhere that is indoors and heated).
Her colours are warm yellows paired with cooler, almost silvery, golds and whites, but obviously as it's hard to find sunflower coloured overcoats she has found a new friend in silvery grey. Not dark grey, it always has to be light, and it always has to be "Just right". The amount of money she pays, people are only too happy to fulfil her pickiness, and while not completely satisfied most people who meet her on business can't help commenting that she is very fetching in her silvery suit jacket and impeccably pressed trousers (hot woman is hot who would have thought wow).
Fun clothes are sundresses, bikinis, the works. Mostly yellow. She kind of eschews worn jewellery because it tended to be quite easy to lose in a life such as hers but does have a few small piercings that aren't likely to get caught on things, a couple in ears that are either studs or rings and a ruby stud in her navel because she couldn't find someone who had a tiger's eye piercing.
She WOULD wear sandals or flip flops but people give odd looks when she does this and so to maintain appearances it's heels all the way, pumps too.
Goofy aah:
Hayley is asexual, which may seem odd when one considers her choice of behaviour. Why would an asexual person engage in sexuality?????? I hear you cry. Fear not, I shall explain to you at length:
Hayley does not feel sexual attraction to people. She does however feel sexual arousal because you know she is a human and humans feel sexually aroused over different things. Hayley (would you believe it) enjoys feeling attractive, and this includes feeling sexually attractive, and so she engages in sexuality without any particular desire for anyone. If she didn't keep a knife in her inside pocket this would probably be dangerous to her but eh. She a girlboss for real.
Oh also she's aromantic. No she can't be your partner, she can be your friend, I have a million other OCs for you to fantasise about watching sunsets with. You can spend your time with hayley looking at her dreamily and thinking "Wow.... she's like sooo hot...." while she tries to drag your attention back to the latest excel spreadsheet on her computer (her heart's not in it)

I just don't see the appeal for Haylijah. Aside from them having nothing in common or any chemistry whatsoever, they were easily the most cringe, disgusting, trashiest, and incestuous ship to ever exist. There's nothing beautiful and romantic or even remotely hot and sexy about a ship, where a man falls for a woman pregnant with his brother's child, and said woman is a terrible mother as a result of being more worried and thirsty over jumping her daughter's uncle's bones, rather than worrying about her pregnancy and daughter, which were far more important. Just look at how she wasted no time cheating on Jackson the first opportunity she got. I mean, I understand she was basically marrying Jackson for convenience, but come on. She literally just told Elijah she's engaged, and she goes and does that.
And don't even get me started on what a complete bitch and straight up cunt she was to Gia when she found out she was seeing Elijah. And at this point, she's already married to Jackson and has already found out about Dahlia. This just once again proves what a terrible mother Hayley is, because instead of being more concerned with the looming threat after her child, she's more concerned with banging two dudes at once and having all the attention on her. She can't even be bothered to be the tiniest bit grateful that Gia helped her out with her daughter, which she was under no obligation whatsoever to do, since that's not her problem anyway.
And same goes for Rebekah, who spent six months of her life with Hope. And once Rebekah's nanny services were no longer required, Hayley is quick to turn on her at the drop of a dime and ready to kill her too and for what exactly? And on top of that, thinking Klaus and Elijah would agree to that? Talk about being the most selfish, disrespectful, and ungrateful bitch to ever exist. Rebekah was a way better mother to Hope in those six months than Hayley ever was throughout Hope's whole life.
Now, let's go onto Elijah and his views of women. He doesn't genuinely love the women he falls for. He loves the idea of them and whatever image and picture he paints of them in his head. And the minute they don't live up to the ideal pure, innocent, and virginal woman he pictured in his head, he drops them like a bad habit. I guarantee if he knew who Hayley really was as a person and about her history on TVD, and if he was anything in character at all, he'd have thrown her ass to the curb the same way he did with Katherine.
And you say Elijah is not a hypocrite? He's the biggest hypocrite to ever exist and there's plenty of proof on both shows to prove it. Being buddy-buddy with Elena and even sympathetic to her for losing her brother, and even dumping Katherine over that. But having nothing to say about Elena having killed two of his brothers, and then having the gall to say on TO, "No one hurts my family and lives." Or what about having the gall to judge Cami for letting her feelings for Klaus cloud her judgment (which she wasn't, she was being very reasonable), when he did the exact same thing with Hayley, which is why he daggered Klaus and let Hayley run off with Hope in the first place? Yeah, Elijah is not the perfect, moral, and noble man you've all been brainwashed into thinking he is.
Before you assume anything or put words in my mouth ... no, I don't ship Klayley or Klaroline either. And let's also not forget that Julie Plec promised fans that TO would be more about the family dynamics and exploring more of the Originals past and wouldn't have the same love triangle drama TVD did. Talk about the biggest bold-faced lie ever told. If anything at all, Klayley and Haylijah solidified for me why a love triangle was not needed for TO. Julie Plec should've just kept her word. Now, Elijah/Francesca and Elijah/Gia would've made for far better, more interesting, more compelling, and definitely way hotter and sexier pairings.
Hello love. I adore the fact that you are still thinking of me after all of these weeks. Although I hope you haven't spent too much of your time being this upset.
Despite all of that, I'm going to take this ask seriously, or as serious as possible. It will be the last one from you I respond to, the rest will simply be deleted. But if that is how you wish to waste your time, have fun!
So your first complaint is that you don't see the appeal of haylijah. And that's fine! There are a lot of different ships for different people. I don't make it a practice to tell people who to ship. Rather, I love talking about things I love, like haylijah. Thank you for providing me another opportunity to do so!
To me, haylijah has so much chemistry. From the first moment they met, I knew they would be a main ship. They had so much chemistry that the show dropped the whole brothers love triangle because it didn't compare. Again, that's too me (and the show runners), if you disagree, that's great for you! I don't get how it's incestuous since they aren't related... But if you find it that way, maybe this show isn't for you. If they are problematic for you, I'm not sure what ship you can really like.
I think Elijah falling in love with Hayley was so beautifully done. I also want to point out the way you talk about Hayley as a human incubator for Klaus is not the move. Elijah didn't fall in love with Hayley as a woman who was pregnant with his brother's kid, but as a woman. Full stop. Let's not reduce women down to their sex lives or mother's down to one aspect of their being. Also you saying Hayley is a terrible mother destroys any remaining credibility you had. Hayley is the best mother in this show, even though the bar is on the floor. At no point did she put her relationship with any man over Hope. In fact, so much of the fandom hates her for that. To finish that up, she never cheated. Hope that helps. She was not in a relationship with Jackson when she slept with Elijah and she told Jackson about it, who didn't have an issue with it. So I don't know why you do.
Your language you use to discuss women is curious. You act like a warrior for Gia and yet you would use derogatory words to talk about women. Yes, Gia deserved better. We all agree. But Gia and Hayley have like four scenes together. A couple of which show them working together. I promise you, ever woman on that show has made immature comments to another woman because the writers are immature and sexist. She was grateful to Gia though. Or are you conveniently forgetting that scene?
You also seem awfully concerned abut a character's sex life when she has maybe one sex scene a season. It's almost like you are trying to tear down a woman for having sex. So I think you are the issue here. Not Hayley. You try to use it to say she is a terrible mother and wife, again reducing her down to two aspects of her personality and are essentially trying to slut shame a woman whose bodily autonomy was robbed from her in so many ways.
I can't even take you seriously on your take with Rebekah. The only time she ever threatened Rebekah's life was when she was possessed by Eva and she did so in defense of her daughter, which seems to cut against your stance that she's a bad mother. And again, with your sexist language. Rebekah only had to be a mother for six months when she got to live safely away from the chaos and war of New Orleans and then Rebekah bailed when Hope needed her most. Hayley raised her and never once abandoned her daughter.
Your idea of Elijah is comical and based on nothing but your own spite. It's concerning how upset it makes you. At this point I don't think you even agree with half of what you say but you think everyone here is as immature as you and try to attack our "weaknesses." I promise you, I am not so immature as to be affected that you don't like my favorite characters. I love people always say "virginial women" and yet you clearly don't understand what that means. Elijah has never once been attracted to a "ideal pure, innocent and virginial woman." First of all, you say it as if these ideas are black and white. You either are or you aren't. Saying this is discrediting the amazing, strong, witty women that he loves. I think it's funny you don't think Elijah is aware of what happened in TVD with Hayley. But he does know what she did in TO and still loved her, so your point is invalid. He left Katherine for betraying him, yet again. Which is fair.
I love the amount of research you've done though. Each paragraph is clearly targeted at different posts I've made on here. I'm really flattered. That being said, I've already discussed the hypocrite thing, so I'm not going to get into it again. But you clearly don't know what the definition of hypocrisy is so it doesn't even matter.
I don't have to put words in your mouth. You are incapable of brevity and make yourself look bad all on your own. But I am laughing out loud at a Elijah/Francesca and Elijah/Gia triangle. Talk about Elijah being a hypocrite and being with the woman who is trying to take down his family. Have you even watched the show?
This is fun and all and I appreciate you came more prepared than the last time we spoke. I also love that you can't respond because you have to hide behind your anonymity in the ask box so I get to have the last word here.
I say this with all of the sincerity in the world, I think you need to take a break from this fandom. I know it is a safe space for so many people, but for others, it becomes an unhealthy obsession and will only serve to make you more upset. If this fandom is no longer a happy place for you, it isn't worth staying in it. Try to use this fandom to build each other up and connect with people who love the same things as you. For so long, this fandom has helped me because of the amazing people I've met. There are so many beautiful souls who would love to have genuine conversations with you, but if you keep acting this way, you are only serving to isolate yourself.
If you ever want to talk, to genuinely talk, my inbox is open. But if you only wish to spread hate, please stay off of my page.

I love the original family, I do.
But it literally makes no sense that they would abandon Hope to that miserable hellhole of a boarding school right after she lost both her parents and uncle.
No matter what stupid ass excuses legacies tried to make for it, I'll call it what it is: Child Abandonment.
Kluus, Hayley and Elijah would never forgive their family for it.
They should've just killed off the whole family except Hope, to highlight how completely alone she was before before meeting Landon again.
But no, apparently, always and forever became a shame as soon as Hayley, Klaus and Elijah dropped dead.
Yeah I just don’t even count most of legacies as tvdu canon tbh, for many reasons, and the way they wrote the Mikaelsons is one of them. There’s just no way they would’ve left Hope alone at that school, especially not when she was dealing with all that grief. Idk what the excuses were even supposed to be in legacies, they basically just pretended Hope’s family didn’t exist most of the time, except for the few episodes they popped up in and were written so ooc it made it all even worse. Not only did they have Hope’s family abandon her at the school for years, but they had Freya literally kill Hope without even trying to find some other way to spare her from having to become the tribrid. While also not caring that Hope would lose the love of her life and have to face even more grief. Freya just leaves her while she’s transitioning, and the excuse they gave was she went to get a milkshake and go home?? Then they have Rebekah stab Hope once she finds out her humanity is off (when Rebekah had been badly affected by being stabbed herself by Klaus how many times, yet she does it immediately to her niece who was hardly a threat...), without doing anything else to help her. And don’t me started on the writing for 4x15... none of them acted like they cared about what Hope had been going through and that she’d lost Landon, they didn’t do anything to help her after she flipped her switch back on, it was all so bad. And fr, Klaus and Hayley and Elijah would be so pissed at them and what's happened to Hope. I’d never want the whole family killed off, but with how they were written in legacies, them being dead is about the only way their absence would make sense. The writers could’ve at least come up with better excuses, could’ve had Hope calling/texting them or interacting off-screen if they couldn’t get the actors for more episodes, but they just didn’t even try. And yeah, the legacies writers disrespected the whole Mikaelson family and their vow and made “always and forever” mean nothing in the end. They honestly just replaced Hope’s family with the “super squad,” and replaced New Orleans, Hope’s real home, with the school. So much of TO and where Hope came from was just thrown away, including the fact that her family spent like the whole show fighting for her to have a better life and then the legacies writers made that for nothing by making sure she was as unhappy and alone and traumatized as possible. So yeah I totally agree with you, and sorry for the long rant, it’s all still so frustrating to me.

Hey can you do a Elijah mikaelson x daughter baby reader. Where Elijah finds out he has a 2 months old baby and the mom died giving birth to her. Elijah is happy to have a daughter and since he has a child now she becomes his first priority over hope and Hayley is jealous as hell and acts bitchy. Elijah puts Hayley in her place when she says something rude please.
Yes and yes
Warnings: Fluff, Elijah just being the softest dad, Bitchy! Hayley,
Elijah just adored his little girl as he layed on blanket watching Y/N use him somewhat stand and began bouncing. Y/N Mikaelson daughter to Elijah and a human woman, Natasha, that had died during childbirth and Natasha's parents didn't want Y/N so she was shipped off to her father.
"Smart little baby aren't you." Elijah chuckled as the girl smiled at him before patting his chest babbling in baby talk. Hayley watched Elijah with Y/N as when Daliha came for the first borns, Elijah right away made sure Y/N was safe as the others focused on Hope.
Elijah was wrapped up in his daughter and was rarely without the two month old as Y/N was the light of his life and the only piece of Natasha, he had. Elijah had only two people he trusted with Y/N other than family, Camille was the only one that could watch the baby if Elijah's siblings couldn't.
Elijah chuckled watching Y/N fall forward hitting his chest before laughing and standing up again gripping his shirt trying to figure something out. Camille was in the room chuckling watching father and daughter together as she found it cute how Elijah was so sweet with his daughter.
"What are you trying to do, little heart?" Elijah questioned helping Y/N climb onto his chest watching her lay down gripping his shirt making him smile kissing her head. Elijah layed there not moving hearing the the girl fall asleep.
"Having fun?" Elijah heard Hayley looking at her not liking the look in her eyes as Elijah felt his daughter grip his shirt as he sat up.
"Are you upset with me?"
"Yes, you nearly got Hope taken." Hayley said as Elijah frowned remembered that it was Y/N that was almost taken and thanks to Camille grabbing the baby girl and hid with her. So Elijah found Camille in Elijah's closet rocking a sobbing Y/N and a close to tears human making Elijah take both in his arms.
"That isn't how I remember it."
"Elijah, you are letting a one-night stand mistake take you away from Hope." Hayley said as Elijah growled deeply glaring at Hayley. Natasha to Elijah wasn't a one-night stand as they had a serious relationship and the Russian just adored the the vampire.
"Camille please take Y/N up stairs so I can have a word with Hayley." Elijah said lowly as the blonde took the baby girl upstairs worried. Elijah looked at Hayley with a coldness in his eyes as Hayley shivered.
"Hayley don't not disrespect my beloved Natasha nor disregard my little heart as a mistake."
"Elijah....I just think that...."
"No Hayley. Hope is every much safe and don't need me as much unlike Y/N." Elijah said calmly as Hayley crossed her arms glaring at Elijah angry that the Original was seemingly upset with her.
"Sorry if I am looking out for my daughter and your niece!"
"Then how about you go off and marry Jackson if you are so worried about Hope. If you excuse me I have my daughter to protect."
Elijah was angry with Hayley as Klaus and Rebekah could tell seeing how the vampire kept his daughter away from Hayley. The hybrid walked into the kitchen finding Camille with Y/N and no Elijah in sight.
"So where is Elijah?" Hayley asked watching Camille feed Y/N a few strawberries since that was all the girl would eat at the moment.
"Meeting with the witches." Camille said smiling at the baby girl helping her use a bottle, Hayley hated it that Camille had been getting close to Elijah by caring for his child.
"So you and Elijah."
"Good friends, someone he trusts with his child. What about you and Jackson?" Camille said side eyed Hayley.
"We are going to marry." Hayley said trying to find out just how close Camille was to Elijah as said vampire came walking in. Y/N squealed seeing her father forgetting about her strawberries as Elijah smiled kissing her head picking her up having her sit on his arm.
"Dada."
"Little heart, you look so cute today." Elijah says smiling when Y/N touched his face smiling at her father. Camille moved around Elijah cleaning up.
"Was she any trouble?"
"No, she was an angel as always."
"Elijah."
"What Hayley?" Elijah questioned rather coldly looking at the hybrid with cold eyes as he was still angry that Hayley tried to guilt him to care more for Hope.
"I wanted to apologize and I hope you'll be at the wedding."
"We'll see." Elijah said walking out with Camille following telling Elijah what she and Y/N did while he was away leaving Hayley hurt hoping that Elijah would forgive her soon.

yk what i loved about the episode, Hope's different reactions to each Mikaelson
with Bex Hope was annoyed and outright threatened to knock the teeth out of her mouth, there's resentment when she talks about them being absent from her life, then Bex mentions Klaus and you immediately see how taken aback Hope is and the sadness that enters her eyes
with Freya, there was this broken fear in her eyes, fear of disappointment in my opinion because Freya is the woman who raised her alongside Hayley, her second mother for all intents and purposes and I'd argue the one Hope is most afraid of disappointing beyond her parents; that fear immediately disappears when she starts speaking, hidden under jabs and barbs, making remarks about Freya feeling guilty, or afraid and that's why she didn't bring Nik with her, only for Freya to retaliate and say she's neither of those things, she's simply sad that this is what the little girl she helped raise has become
and when Freya and Bex mention Klaus and Hayley, Hope storms out, very well knowing that a conversation like that will bring her over the edge
with Marcel, it's a bit different, he almost pulls a smile out of her and their conversation is playful and serious at the same time, typical big brother - little sister moment; Hope looked most at ease with him, regardless of the topic of conversation and he is the only one she listened to up until that point and follows him back inside
and Kol, when he appears, is the only one she addresses as 'uncle'; she didn't call Bex or Freya aunt at any point and even when she mentioned Elijah she didn't call him uncle however she doesn't disrespect Kol, doesn't throw any of the comments she did at Freya and Rebekah, she actually listens to what he has to say, all she really does is make a remark about him being late
and all together, Bex, Freya, Marcel and Kol achieve their goal, by asking Hope to decide what to do with her father's ashes and Hope can't run from the genuine love and affection they have for her, not when it's staring her straight in the eye and she is brought to tears by the end of it
anyway all of this to simply say, give Danielle all the awards
Yes! Anon you said it perfectly, I loved that w/ each one of them Hope's dynamic changed. It really highlights just how talented DRR is and this season she's been eating it up. If her humanity is on fully I can't wait to see her breakdown (because we know it's coming) because she's going to absolutely slay when she does.

if you're doing prompts... Mates Trope?! something during s1-2 of TO where part of the reason the wolves (or maybe just the elders who are very righteous about tradition) don't trust klaus is because he wanders around with everyone but his mate (which for this purpose i guess they can sense when a wolf is mated)
Oh || Klaroline
Elijah frowned deeply. “I’m not sure which scenario would be less tolerable to the pack, you being disrespectful to the mate bond or being mated to a vampire.”
Cradling the noticeable swell of her baby bump, Hayley snorted. “I might very well be carrying the next alpha with his disrespectful ass, so they’ll get over it eventually,” she pointed out. “But the vampire thing is always going to be a problem.”
“Not if Miss Forbes stays away from New Orleans.”
That was the crux of it, truly. Whether or not he had a mate, there was precious little Klaus could do about it in the eyes of the pack while she gave his city a wide berth. Honestly, her absence would likely make it all easier for them to swallow - perhaps to forget entirely with a few generations of distance. The thought left a hollow feeling in his chest, one far more noticeable since learning of his…predicament.
Learning he was to be a father after a millennium of running from the only one he’d ever known had been difficult enough. He’d ingratiated himself into the fabric of New Orleans in order to situate it to his needs, even softening the wolf pack to the idea of his leadership outside of the traditional hierarchy - at least, until he returned from Mystic Falls with a freshly established mate bond he apparently left behind.
A mate bond he could only imagine began with a defiant kiss and a slow-rising smile as bright as a sunlit afternoon.
Unfortunately, he didn’t know a thing about it until Hayley broke the news as to why the pack had turned against him. It was small comfort to know her use as a direct line in the camp, but he needed more. He knew so little about life as a wolf, that having been denied him for so long. “How can they know that I’ve found my mate?” Suspicion was a long-earned habit, and nothing was adding up. “How can they sense it here when I had no idea with her right in my arms?”
With a delicate cough, Elijah leaned forward to take some of his focus off Hayley. “I understand this is a difficult revelation, and there’s much to be learned about the mate phenomenon. However, I feel there’s a decided advantage in ensuring Miss Forbes is a non-factor in the politics of the city.”
His hand was around his brother’s throat before he could consciously think to do it, his hybrid strength more than enough to pin Elijah to the wall. “Stop. Talking.”
“Klaus.” Hayley’s voice was shaking, and her hands now covered her belly in a protective gesture. “You feel it now, don’t you? The need to protect her above all else?” She stood slowly, careful not to spook him further. “Even over your own brother?”
With excruciating control, he loosened his grip, finger by finger. “Alright,” he breathed once he could manage it past the sudden onslaught of rage. “I’m listening.”
.
“Caroline, you’re up!”
For at least the third time that afternoon, Caroline reminded herself there were too many witnesses at the Fall Festival to eat her sorority sisters. "I'm all for scamming money out of sleaze bags in the name of philanthropy, but I still think there are better ways to go about it than a kissing booth."
Amber just scoffed. "Suck it up, pledge, we all had to pay our dues," she said, divesting herself of the Gamma blue sash that said Kiss me! and handing it to Caroline. "If it helps, there's a total hottie in line. I almost extended my shift to get a chance at him."
Rolling her eyes, she forced a pageant smile as she slipped the sash over her head. "Thanks for your sacrifice."
"Funny," a familiar voice noted behind her. "You never thanked me for any of the sacrifices I made."
With a deep breath, she tried to make herself count to ten before turning. Call it personal growth that she made it to six when her glare fell on Klaus waiting at the booth. "I'm sorry, are we including the time you literally tried to sacrifice me? Because I'm so not in the mood to deal with you today, in case you can't tell."
"Oh my god, Caroline!" Amber looked mildly scared, but she took a step in front of her anyway, a stance she recognized from other sisters at any number of frat parties when a creep made himself known. "Who is this guy? Do I need to call security?"
She glanced back to Klaus, who remained uncharacteristically quiet as she decided what to do. Reluctantly, she met Amber's eyes with widened pupils. "Everything is fine, but someone needs to cover my shift. You never saw him, and I went home sick." When Amber obediently repeated her words, she also returned the sash. "Thanks!" she called out, quick as she was to flash away from the crowd, knowing he would follow.
Her dorm wasn't exactly a safe bet, given Elena and Damon's constant sexiling, and she didn't want to risk Bonnie catching them on campus. The only place she could think of was the wooded trail behind the chemistry building, where she found a quiet bench for them to sit. Well, for him to sit and for her to pace in front of. "We had a deal, Klaus. You weren't supposed to come back."
"To Mystic Falls," he clarified, his hands pressed together between his knees. At her decided frown, he allowed himself a sigh of discomfort. "Unfortunately, I have good reason to violate the spirit of our agreement."
She crossed her arms and waited.
He sighed again. "Sweetheart-"
"Just rip the band-aid off, Klaus!"
"I need you to accompany me back to New Orleans, and I need you to trust me enough to keep you safe," he said. With eyes intent on hers, his energy seemed barely contained, like he wanted nothing more than to grab her and go. "I would like you to do so freely. And quickly."
Her arms tightened, and she sank onto her jutted hip as she took in his plaintive request. "Points for being polite, I guess, but I doubt you would be if I were in any real danger. What I don't know is if this is you being overly cautious or just being a dick."
Rubbing two fingers at his temple, there was an ancient exhaustion in his face. "Neither of us can truly know what this is," he muttered to himself more than anything. He spoke up with more resolve. "Elijah wanted to hide you away in one of our many properties throughout the world, and Rebekah suggested a less involved plan that offered you an anonymous scholarship across the country - anything to keep you far away from me."
"Why are your siblings trying to get rid of me?" she demanded. "I didn't even do anything."
He shifted on his feet, and he couldn't quite meet her eyes. If he weren't Klaus Mikaelson, she might think he were embarrassed. "Your absence in New Orleans has been noted."
Confused, she pressed her hands to her face. "I seriously doubt that, since I've never been there. The only people I know in New Orleans is your family, and you've already established they don't want me there."
His ears flushed red, and then she knew he was embarrassed. "Hayley has found a home with nearby pack," he explained with a wince, "a pack that could prove necessary to the balance of the city. However, they are disinclined to negotiate with me at the moment."
"Gee, I wonder why. How many of them have you killed so far?"
Klaus gave a ferocious glare. "None, actually. But perhaps you missed the fact that a wolf with a known grudge against you is well placed to inform any number of enemies of your name and location."
The scoff burst out of her without permission, an absolute confidence emboldening her. "Like you'd let that happen."
Then he took a step closer, and that confidence withered into a new understanding - one that scared her. His voice lowered, soft in its menace. "Why do you think I'm here, Caroline?"
She swallowed, the tension unbearably thick between them. "I'm no one," she said, her voice shaky as she fought for the calm she felt only moments before. "Even if they could use me against you-"
"They can," he answered, deadly serious. "And they will. Maybe not now, but someday." He watched her closely; for what, she didn't know. His whole face softened whenever he found whatever he was looking for. "I'm only just beginning to understand myself," he admitted. "But you're far from no one, and I need to establish that you're firmly under my protection."
"Why?" He never really answered her questions, Caroline realized. This one, though... This, she needed to know. "Why me?"
His eyes seemed to burn with gold, and she held her breath as he stared. "Wolves know when another has found their mate, and this pack has judged my character unfit for abandoning mine."
If she weren't a vampire, she would swear her legs might collapse beneath her. As it was, her head felt suddenly light. Her mouth fell open, and she finally remembered to breathe. When she exhaled, it escaped as a sigh. "Oh."
"Yes, oh."
