Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia
Chilean flamingos preen under the Andean sky in Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat. To get the shot, the photographer had to fight back altitude sickness in the dry landscape, which is nearly 12,000 feet above sea level.
Several species of flamingos come to breed in this region – which is also one of Bolivia’s largest lithium mines, a threat to the birds’ future.

How can someone harassed and stressed out ignore being harassed? Aremuorin A friend sent me a video on gang stalking and I was saddened by the naivety and lack of awareness of the gravity of the extent to the damage it implodes in our society. Gang stalkers are narcissists who target empaths. These narcissists are detestable in every way. The first video is background while the second is really…

Humans aren't made of archetypes; They're made of energies
Energies in fluidity, humans are one of the densest species the galaxies have ever seen. Due to their obliviousness and willful ignorance to their depths in order to bask in the pain of the illusion of their attempts in basking in bliss of shallowness, most humans in this time of the Earth are unable to be humans.
The ancient energies of all the gods, humans of ancient origins, and magic of the Earth have been forgotten, the volume of the quiet had been turned a blind eye, a meek spirit, in order to turn to those shouting rageful wars of their worlds from their internal turmoil.
These energies are the Divine Masculine, Divine Feminine, each with their light and dark attributes, and the Divine Child of the Universe.
Each human is made of these energies. Multiple variations had been due to the soul's imprint in terms of which is the most dominant one, or the effects of the human experiences in the human collision with its confusion, furthering improving their more immersive and often linked deeper, well-intrigued and explorative Human vibration. Due to these variances, multiple humans have claimed to have "genders," upon which sexualities might also be reflect ant.
However, there is a downside to this. Multiple youth today are then affected by the sins, wounds, and burdens of the ancient past, embedded and buried in their DNAs, passed down from every wounded soul of each generation of their lineage, furthering sealing these multiple karmic tendencies upon which have not been, absolved, learned from, nor converted into primal wisdom in which transforms their life situations into lessons, and effectively stopping these from happening again.
Wounds exist through multiple lifetimes. Whether or not they are worn as a badge of a scar, pride embedded in that scare of a core due to the healing process happening in lightyears of unseen progresses in the currency of the human time, or they are seen as marks to be covered, buried under guilt and shame for their existence, just as their master treats their own mortality as one they wish to be more finite, these wounds are existing in this plane of reality at this timeline.
Multiple karmic people, situations, and lifetimes wounds, and curses are to be broken by the people experiencing them. Consciously, in the experience, your human body and soul, at its own fine consciousness, would not wish to experience them in the moment. Thus, forgetting to live in the moment due to their tendency to escape and desire to be inn another reality, but here's the thing-- Imagination exists in order to access a higher timeline and fantasy upon which are then to be rooted into the ground for you to live as a physical experience-- you cannot abandon your body out of fear this human world could take you out.
Attraction, as described by someone who does not feel the "common" descriptions prescribed by the terminologies of the current dictionaries of this world, is something intriguing in the terms of soul identity and attraction.
Energies are naturally inclined towards something they are familiar with; no matter their opposites, it is still something they know. The contrast between purple and yellow is high, nonetheless, are still connected due to their displacement in the human color wheel (it is still inaccurate to this way).
Someone who gives a lot is to attract and be attracted to someone who receives and takes to a fault. Someone who has loyalties outside themselves are to be attracted and to attract those who betray them for themselves. Someone selfless could end up with someone selfish.
Why settle into these energies?
It's all they've known.
Humans like familiar things- how odd they may be. The ever consciousness knowing thought of it all- the horrors of the existence, the previous memories haunting you like the ghost it had traumatized you to be, dead but alive, are clawing out to your skin, begging you to let them go. And yet still here you are- watching them with both horror and delight at their repeated existence and visitations, like an unknown stranger visiting your house in the middle of the night, and not having been able to have any other better experience in regard to visitations to compare better ones to this one.
To raise higher standards s to protect yourself from everything lower than you, effectively rejecting everything that's not your worth, for anything that doesn't add value to your life only takes from it.
How does this work?
just as someone stumbled into a problem, they would lead themselves out of it in the first place- and this doesn't happen when you escape the problem,
it only happens when you face it.
Do you fear the monster that knocks outside your door? Or do you stand and go meet him, hereby daresay even face him as you swing the door open, threatening him, hoping your intimidation would be effective as to both establish yourself as a worthy opponent, and one that could easily scare him off?
Problems show you their solutions, themselves. They echo as they whisper while holding your hand, the other one pointing at their insides of jungled knotted, mess. "Here," it whispers, "this is what you work with. What do I need? What is the purpose of lack? How can you solve me? How can you fill me up?"
The lack is there for you to fill it up. The obscurity and senselessness is there for you to tie up an explanation of the serendipitously string of divinely coordinate orchestra of the slight string of the air of words having by the threaad of your mouth and the roof of your lips.
Do you honestly thin you're alone in this big whole, planes of interdimensional collpasing and emerging of all prseent and separate, individualistic, world and star building galaxies?
There's a reason most stars don't come down to Earth.
You hold your hand out, untangling the mess the problem had shown you. Multiple stories of untamable characters, leaving the plot to go insane, now twirling around your finger, circles fully coming to close.
"It's all connected," you say. "It's all one." You whisper.
In everything, it is. In any essence, it's not.
Logic is just an explanation and way of thinking so ordained and chained by its repetition and approved by the mirroring of the universe's laws, effectively trapping people who stay in.
Hopelessness is the inactivity to follow your dreams.
Are you open to dreams? Ones you escape to, ones you sleep in> Do you remember when a cow started chasing you? When the secret force of people in suits then chase you out of the frame, effectively scaring off all the characters there?
Do you walk around your house, ready to fuck off the shadow walking at three in the morning? Do you have your pentacle?
Or are you someone with lost hopes, waiting for you to be found again?
DO you miss the stars? Do you have an inkling towards them?
Maybe having been fallen down here on Earth wasn't an accident,
nor was it a choice.
Not yours to be made, not yours to be rejoiced.
Revolted from. Reject from.
Be resentful of, be reminded with, taunted with, every waking dead second of your every day life
breathing, eating, strolling,
all aimlessly
with a world in your head
and a mind out of body
To live the world you desire is to simply acknowledge this one like it.
No, you must not hope to be in another world.
To leave from this realm, when you are meant to bring back down your imagination to the physical matters, effectively creating a solicitation balance between both worlds.
You are a bridge to both worlds, and you must keep making sure you plant each foot in their respective worlds.
Aligning with the stars and the heavenly bodies,
Suryn Kapil

Ancient Babylonia: Exploring Literature, Law, and Justice
“The living need the truth, before rumor pollutes it.”― Mary Renault, Funeral Games The city of Babylon is one of the oldest and most important cities in Mesopotamia, which is now modern-day Iraq. It was founded over 4,000 years ago, and over the centuries, it became a cultural, economic and political center for the region. Babylon was the capital of the Babylonian Empire, which was ruled by…

I feel it's very important for Tumblr to know that the entire basis of Digimon is 'Eldritch Beings think Huamnity is Neat* and would like to interact.'
*Neat in a sense that some want to pet, some want to be petted, and others would like to murder.

Note
The problem with 40K is that the whole 'starship troopers' angle of a cartoonishly evil empire presenting itself as the hope of humanity only works when it's wrong. 40K actually DOES have secret agents of the enemies of huamnity (and the T'au) subverting the Imperium, and that breaks the whole joke!
That basically it, yeah. Even Rick Priestly said that by the time he’d left, people had forgotten the irony

Book of the New Sun: Some Thoughts
Tumblr media
Okay, let's do this. I've been ruminating on these books and the accompanying podcasts from Ranged Touch for several weeks now, and I've got some thoughts.
The last book was a bit disappointing, in the ways that it explained things I don't think needed explaining, and introduced some elements to the plot that make the whole thing feel a lot more... flat. Specifically, the nature of the aliens, and the continued focus on time travel as an explanation for mysterious happenings, along with the more and more explicitly religious nature of the narrative.
Suffice it to say, as a general opinion: I liked these books more when they were just fun picaresque fantasy/scifi adventure stories. Once we get to the end and it has to Be About Something, it loses some of that sheen of endless possibilities that makes it so intriguing. But I suppose it was inevitable, this is a world that was designed to be destroyed, after all.
There are some interesting parallels with the Book of Genesis that I noticed in retrospect. This is an end-of-the-world story that mirrors the beginning of the world. It is "Eschatology and Genesis" in one, after all. One fun one I just realized the other day: the exarchs are nephilim. If the aliens in this world actually represent the divine, then the product of aliens and humans would be half-divine monsters. This explains a) why they're held in such contempt by the story as untrustworthy and b) why they're specifically noted to be very tall. They're giants!
The reveal about the true nature of the aliens really fell flat for me. That is the precise point where my interest in learning more about an infinitely deep and wondrous world runs into the specific ideological project of the author.
In fact, it's two reveals, and I don't like either of 'em. One back in book 3 where we find out that the hierodules are not, in fact, monstrous creatures of diverse form, but actually all supremely beautiful and beyond perfect superhumans, the ones that Severian described in the garden in book 2. Far less interesting than just having a bunch of weird aliens.
The other is that they're from a previous iteration of the universe, and were "perfected" by humanity through the same process that they are now enacting upon huamnity in this universe. This just feels like breaking down the metaphor and saying that they're God and this is now a tiresome theodicy. Trying to logically prove the existence of a loving God, reminds me of my philosophy of religion class way back in community college. Seems to be a very Catholic preoccupation, so no great surprise there.
The interesting thing is that this story also has some Lovecraftian monsters living under the ocean, trying to gain dominion over humanity for... some reason. It makes the whole thing feel more Manichaean, there's a good god and an evil god, both seemingly equally powerful, fighting over the soul of humanity.
There's also these indications of like... having to make deals with some external factions to get access to energy weapons. Like there's the faction of hierodules who are time traveling around and are interested in uplifting humanity to perfection, and then there are just regular ol' aliens who are messing with us for some unknown reason.
Perhaps the idea is that these other aliens, Abaia and whatnot, know that humanity is actually the center of the universe, the most important species who have this special connection with the time travelers. Humanity has a special connection with the divine (hierodules) that nobody else gets. But, in a very Catholic way, that's not necessarily a good thing, and causes them a lot of suffering.
I suppose the whole explanation that "oh all of this pain and depravation is for your own good as part of a divine plan" thing just rubs me the wrong way. It's not convincing to me, and it never has been. This series brings that whole argument into new genre trappings, instead of a vague righteousness we have giving the very Earth a new chance at survival with a new sun, instead of a distant and mysterious God we have aliens who have clear motives and concrete existence, etc. That doesn't make it any more convincing, though it does make it easier to grapple with, I suppose.
Anyway, enough about hierodules.
I found the resolution of Severian's personal story very satisfying. Tying up all the mysteries of his parentage with a neat little bow, the explanation of how the Autarchy works, all of that stuff, it was very good. Especially the way that the next Autarch could just be any random person off the street. It's a very cool idea.
My favorite thing is how it recasts the rest of the book, knowing that it was written with a thousand extra eyes looking over Severian's life, peer-reviewing it. It explains so much about the clinical, detached tone, and the judgments he was making about himself and his own actions along the way. It's going to be very fun to re-read these books with that knowledge in the future.
I agree with the Shelved by Genre crew about the depiction of the Ascians: the stuff that was added later, with the guy in the hospital, is much more interesting than the just out-and-out weird racism we see later in the book. That felt very flat and stupid, like the villains in Narnia books. The rulers are nothing but pure evil and will to dominate, the uderlings are either resilient victims of circumstance or mindless drones, etc etc. Just not that interesting compared to the rest of the world building in these books.
Really, it's just the old "those people are BRAINWASHED VICTIMS OF IDEOLOGY, not like me, the smart and independent thinker" thing, but blown out to the biggest possible size in a fantasy genre fashion.
I am completely and utterly uninterested in theories about who is a clone or a robot or a secret time traveler. I just do not care. Things like that feel like... they're just not part of the story. The idea of clones gets introduced, but it's deployed in one very specific way.
This is a fictional story, you could come up with any theories about it, and they'd all be equally valid. I could concoct some sort of theory that Severian was actually corrupted by Abaia along the way and is going to undermine the mission of the hierodules, or that he was secretly replaced with a Jonas-like robot, or that the Autarch was every character that he met on his journey, etc etc. It's kinda fun in its own way, but it never feels worth arguing about?
That reminds me, there's one thing that kind of annoyed me on the podcast sometimes: they explained the ambiguity, but didn't say their own read. Like, "here's the thing, it could be X or Y, how interesting!" Well, give me an argument. Whaddaya think? Part of that is being poisoned by future knowledge, even of the fifth and final book and maybe even that whole other series of prequel books Gene wrote, but whatever. Just a little irritating, not a big deal.
Overall, I liked it a lot. Mostly for the world and the characters, the text itself, not the meta elements. I'm not interested in how this is actually about how an author treats his characters in fiction or whatever. It's just a cool scifi world. I'd love to see extended visions of it, and I suppose I have in things like Caves of Qud.
Can't wait for Earthsea!

Being so deeply obsessed with Exocolonist and the need for a balance between huamnity and the planet’s biosphere...
And then playing Satisfactory where my task is to turn this beautiful untouched planet into an industrial hellscape...
It’s certainly a weird Mood.

Has anyone else read “American Lion” by Jon Meacham? It’s a biography of Andrew Jackson, and holy shit is Meacham trying to suck Andrew Jackson’s disintegrated dick.
I’m about 300 pages in and still going at this point just to see how hard Meacham goes when we get to the actual legalization of murdering Native Americans because at this point, he’s hand-waved slavery in the Deep South as not as bad as some places (and saying the slaves would have agreed) and also justified Jackson being so fucking violent against Native Americans because Jackson couldn’t change the “human nature” of “pushy settlers.”
I read a lot of non-fiction. There’s ways to write this shit as JACKSON’s beliefs or the standing beliefs at the time, but that’s not how this book is written.
It is definitely, “OMG THIS GUY WAS SO COOL LETS IGNORE MULTIPLE CRIMES AGAINST HUAMNITY. HE BOUGHT MEDICINE FOR HIS SLAVES SO HE WASN’T MEAN ABOUT BEING CHILL WITH OWNING OTHER HUMAN BEINGS. AND HE SENT NATIVE CHILDREN HE ORPHANED HOME TO HIS SON AS PLAYMATES WHICH IS WHAT A CHEIF WOULD DO SO HE’S CLEARLY NOT A FUCKING RACIST FUCKHEAD.”

Spiritual religiousness has been a blanket terminology for those who are escaping the hell they're rotting in and pain and turmoil they have been causing on others' welfare for the benefit of their own ignorance and own personal biases and ideologies.
The reason why we go through Hell is to create Heaven in the first place. It is not some one stop destination your merit through your moral points from the compass of someone else's book.
You write your own story. You are your own god you worship. Ignoring your own work on self-development and improvisation in this world wherein huamnity has been screaping themselves lower than what the actual standard of love is just joingin them in a mass parade of grave cemetery.
Spirituality is here to confront your darkness, embrace your demons and live alongside them, while determining leadership and confidence with the terms of arrogance and infuriatingly stupid triggered terms upon which you have been so lost you have separated yourself from these "sins" of the Devil himself as you call it.
You're here to work on yourself in order to know that you are love, not accept God's salvation as a form to escape your internal work. The one you've been avoiding your whole life.
Just because a weed was created doesn't mean it's there for its existence to cause your garden to rot. You dig up the bodies you have placed in your barren land for the love that you give to yourself and becasue of it, you're able to dig deep into the roots of your very being, in order to uncover the trauma that has happened to you and heal it within yourself.
You are able to create your dream life once you realize you're able to handle that. And the reason why is that you've already battled your demons and gone through Hell and back,
Now it's time to create Heaven for yourself.

Because I fell in love with humans.
That's why I learned and had cemented while getting my bachelor's in anthropology. It's what I feel when I think about all of the different ways of being, seeing, and perceiving the world. What I feel when I hear and think about huamnity's little quirks, like the innate desire to pet animals we see. How when tragedy strikes, you can always see people trying to help.
How could I not fall in love with humans and humanity?
