he is ! i think james tells him so when they're in their bed, a lazy sunday morning. there's sunlight floating through the gaps in the shutters, casting golden patterns on his skin, and all james can do is look at him. look and look and look at him.

reg is smiling, face half-hiding in the pillow because sometimes it's too much to bear the weight of james' gaze when he looks at him like that. a mix of fondness and reverence, like he's beholding a rare treasure, gotten the best prize. regulus is whispering a, "why are you looking at me like that?" cheeks flushing the slightest bit.

james is reaching out, touching him softly, almost as if to make sure regulus is even real and breathing back a breathless, "because you're my real life angel"
