The first thing you feel is something plastic poking the inside of your nose. It smelled of chilly, medicinal air conditioning.
The next thing you feel is a massive, unpleasant weight on your chest. Then at the crown of your head. Then some weird pressure squeezing your calves every few seconds. Then an entirely full bladder.
“I need to fucking pee.” You mutter, voice dry and raspy.
“I think you can just go, dude.” A familiar voice replies.
You fight against the crustiness of your eyes but immediately regret it. All you can see through the slits of your eyelids is a harsh, white light.
“Am I… Am I fucking blind?” You whine.
“I’m pretty sure that your eyeballs are still inside your head. So hopefully not.” You hear the voice chuckle.
You fight against the unforgiving glare from above, forcing your eyes open. It takes a few moments to gain control of your body, but you’re eventually able to crane your neck towards where the voice had previously echoed from.
“J-Jesse?” You croak.
“Yeah. I’m here, bud.” Your raven-haired friend smiles.
You spot him to your left, sitting in, what appears to be, an uncomfortable armchair. He wore a blue disposable mask over his nose and mouth, his hair looking unkempt and unshowered, and you notice how his clothes look wrinkled and slept in.
“What happened? Are you alright? What’s going on?” You groggily inquire.
“You’re the one all strapped to a hospital bed, but you’re asking me if I’m okay?”
Jesse takes your hand and squeezes it appreciatively. He flashes you a soft, warm smile.
“How are you feeling?” He asks.
“I-I’m not sure…” You admit. “What… what the hell happened?”
“Well,” Jesse starts slowly. “You went on a date with Anderson to Orchards yesterday. At the end of it, you were being a total dummy and made out with her after she ate a whole plate of shrimp.”
“N-no, no,” You interrupt, scrunching your face up as you try to recall the previous day’s events. “She ate this whole soup thing for dinner. Some weird French dish with some weird-sounding name.”
“Bouillabaisse,” Jesse clarifies. “It’s a fish soup. It doesn’t always have shellfish in it, but hers apparently did.”
You groan.
“Oh, I am such a dumbass.”
“Please explain to me exactly how you were being a dumbass in this situation.”
“You literally just said that I was a dummy!”
“That was Jesse of the past. I’m a much more mature man now in my old age.”
You attempt to smack his arm, but he’s saved by the many coils of IVs attached to you, pulling your hand back.
As he playfully rebukes you for attempted physical abuse, another person enters the room. A kind-looking nurse walks in with a clipboard in hand. Wearing dark blue scrubs, a low ponytail, and a surgical mask, she greets you with a friendly wave. She approaches your bedside opposite Jesse, and her glasses-covered eyes indicate a friendly smile.
“Hi there,” She nods. “My name is Yoojin. I’m your nurse today. I’m so sorry for not being here when you woke up. I had to step out for a few seconds, but your brother here assured me that you were in capable hands.”
You turn to Jesse and mouth in amusement, “Brother?”
He suppresses a laugh.
“Later.” He whispers through his mask.
You turn to Yoojin with a small grin.
“No worries. I only just woke up now.” You assure.
She gives you, what you assume, is another smile under her mask.
“So how are you feeling?”
Tumblr media
Jesse remained by your side the entire time, only leaving briefly when he needed to use the bathroom or take a call. He sympathized with your gripes about being bedridden, making lighthearted jokes about your catheter, messing around with the IPC devices off your legs over and over until a nurse came in and kindly asked him to stop.
The TV in your room wasn’t working, so he kept you entertained, cracking his usual dad jokes and telling some old stories of Jackson you hadn’t heard yet. You pretended not to notice that the anecdotes he’d recall always excluded an essential person in his childhood, and you tried your best not to remark on it.
After a couple of hours, Dina finally came around to visit. She walks in as you’re berating Jesse for stealing a fruit cup you knew you weren’t going to eat. The sight of her immediately warms your heart.
“Dina!” You exclaim. “Oh, I missed you.”
Dina sets her bag down next to Jesse, lowers her face mask for a moment to give him a quick peck on the cheek, and pulls up a chair next to him. She takes your hand and beams at you graciously. You notice that her eyes are slightly glassy.
“Oh, babe,” She sighs. “I missed you too. Sorry that I’m just getting here. Had to deal with a few things before I came over.”
“Don’t apologize, D. I’m just glad to see you.”
She squeezes your hand softly.
“I’m so glad you’re awake,” She gulps. “You worried us so much.”
“Sorry about that,” You grin sheepishly. “I was being a bit of a dummy.”
Dina blinks for a moment before giving Jesse a smack on the back of his head at this.
“Oy vey. You asshole.” She chides knowingly.
“Hey! No need to abuse me! I’m delicate.”
He caresses the spot where she hit him as you laugh heartily.
Tumblr media
The couple recounts the events of last night for you, explaining in detail as much as they know. You listen without interruption until they reach the topic of your EpiPen.
“But how’d you guys get to my EpiPen so quickly? Did you pass by my apartment?” You ask them curiously. “I don’t mind if you guys did! It’s just not that close to the restaurant. Wouldn’t have made much sense to book it back to my apartment, honestly.”
Dina and Jesse share a look you don’t understand. Your eyebrows furrow, confused by their hesitation. Eventually, Dina responds.
“Uh, well…” She begins slowly. “Jesse actually happened to have a spare EpiPen at his place. Thank god, right?”
“You did?” You turn your head towards Jesse. “I didn’t even know you had one, Jesse.”
“Y-yeah,” Dina continues cautiously as you notice Jesse’s expression shift to a poker face. “He used to have an, uh, egg allergy growing up.”
“What?” You ask incredulously.
“Yup,” Jesse chimes in. “I grew out of it when I was in high school. But my mom still insists that I have an EpiPen on me. Just in case.”
You continue to look completely discombobulated. You don’t fully buy their story, especially since neither were looking you directly in the face. But you’ve always trusted Dina as a sister and Jesse like a brother, so you half-heartedly accept the tale they’ve decided to present you with.
“Oh, okay,” You say, slightly unconvinced. “Well, thank god for that, I guess. Is it okay that you used it on me, though? What if you suddenly need it again?”
“No worries,” Jesse assures you. “I’ll call my mom and ask her to send me a new one.”
His poker face improves, so you concede for now.
The couple continue to recount the previous day’s events until they eventually catch up to the present.
“Only family is technically allowed to visit you in the ICU,” Dina confesses at one point. “Jesse had to say he’s your brother to get past the nurses' station. The nurse manning the desk at the time could definitely tell we were lying, but she was really nice and allowed it anyway.”
“Oh, gotcha,” You say. “Well, you’re basically my brother, anyway.”
“You should feel so lucky to share the same genes as me.” He boasts, stealthily avoiding yet another smack from Dina.
“What about you, D?” You ask, turning towards her. “What did you say you were? My sister?”
“Nah, I didn’t wanna be siblings with Jesse, even just as pretend.” She grimaces.
“Okay, yeah, didn’t think of that,” You realize, scrunching up your nose in total disgust at the thought. “Gross.”
“Wouldn’t be able to get that image out of my head.” Dina shudders. “Anyway, I told them that I’m your life partner.”
“My what?” You giggle.
“Hey, it counts!” Dina defends. “Well, kind of. The nurse had to list me as your ‘spouse’ instead, which feels like a hate crime.”
“Oh, shut up.” You laugh as Jesse chuckles.
“What? You don’t wanna be married to me?” Dina asks in mocking shock and offense.
“I am absolutely honoured to be married to you,” You assure her. “I’m just worried about poor Jesse. How in the world are we supposed to break it to him that we’ve actually been married for over ten years?”
“Oh, please, Jesse’s known from the start that he’s always just been a side piece.”
“Hey!” Jesse interjects in indignance. “I’m right here.”
“Be quiet, side piece. The wife and I are speaking.” Dina waves him off.
You burst out into laughter at Jesse’s playfully hurt expression.
Tumblr media
The three of you discuss what the doctors have told you, and you eventually bring up the conditions required of you to be discharged.
“I know that the doctors and nurses saved my life and whatever. And of course, I’m very grateful. And I truly do not mean any disrespect,” You say. “But I want to get the fuck out of here, uhh, right fucking now.”
Dina smiles and Jesse chuckles.
“I know, babe.” Dina sympathizes.
“You’ll be out sooner than you know, bud,” Jesse adds. “Don’t stress over it. We’ll get you out as soon as possible.”
“Oh!” Dina suddenly pipes up and reaches into her bag. “I can’t believe I forgot. I brought your phone. I was able to grab your purse for you before the paramedics took you away. I turned it off and charged it at home, so it should have some juice.”
She places your phone in your hand, and you flash her a grateful smile.
“D, you need to be canonized for your good deeds, I swear. With a statue and everything.”
“Oh, I know,” Dina smirks. “Brought your wallet too. Not sure if you wanna keep it here or bring it back to your apartment, though.”
“I’ll ask them if I can keep it here with me.”
A thought suddenly hits you.
“I’ll… I’ll have to figure out how to pay for all this when I get out.” You sigh.
“Oh, babe,” Dina says reassuringly. “Don’t worry about any of that right now. Just focus on resting, okay?”
“Your insurance will hopefully take care of a huge chunk of it,” Jesse contemplates. “It’s through your dad, right?”
“That’s what I’m worried about,” You say as your hands begin to fidget anxiously. “Something as big as this, they’ll probably contact my parents. I… I can’t let them know I’m in here. I know it’ll start shit and… I just know it won’t be good.”
The couple give you identical, concerned looks.
“D-do they know? Th-that I’m in here?” You ask timidly.
“Not that we know,” Jesse replies. “Neither of them is on your emergency contact list. And you know that Dina and I would never speak to either of them. Unless it’s to tell them to shove a stick up their respective asses.”
You and Dina giggle.
“Speaking of which,” Dina adds. “You can ask your uncle. I called him yesterday while you were still out. I hope that’s alright.”
“Oh, that was so thoughtful of you,” You say gratefully. “What did he say? I hope he didn’t worry too much.”
“Honey, you almost died. Of course, he’s worried. He loves you.” She checks the time on her phone. “He should be arriving sometime later today, actually.”
“Shit,” You groan. “He didn’t have to do that. He gets so busy with work during this time of the year. This must have been so inconvenient—”
Jesse suddenly takes his thumb and middle finger and flicks you on the forehead.
“What the fuck!” You exclaim in indignance, rubbing the spot you were hit, as Dina gives him another hard smack on the head. Jesse ignores you both.
“You are more important than any goddamn job that exists in the world, in the whole motherfucking galaxy. Your uncle loves you, just as we do. So no more complaining about it, dumbass.”
You give him a pouty look, but his words fill your heart.
Tumblr media
Your best friends stay the rest of the time until your uncle arrives around midday. Relief and affection overwhelm you when he enters the room. You squeeze him with the tightest embrace you can possibly give for someone essentially strapped to their hospital bed. You ignore the loud beeping resulting from the tangling of your many IV wires.
After your friends help you unravel all the cords, they gather their things and get up from their chairs.
“We’ll let you guys talk.” Jesse says, offering his seat to your uncle.
“Oh, you don’t have to leave.” Your uncle graciously assures them.
“It’s alright; have some family time,” Jesse insists kindly. “I’m pretty sure she can only have two visitors at a time, anyway.”
The couple make their way towards the sliding glass door.
“I cannot express how grateful I am for you two,” Your uncle says before they exit. “Thank you for saving her life. And thank you for keeping me in the loop.”
“Please, no need to thank us, really.” Dina nods kindly. “She’s family. We would do absolutely anything for her.”
“That means you’re both family to me too.” Your uncle concludes. “Thank you.”
You hold back tears of vast emotion from three of the most important people in your life exchanging such caring sentiments. You’ve never felt luckier.
“We’ll be in the waiting room,” Jesse promises. “Let us know if either of you needs anything, okay?”
Jesse and Dina take their leave, and your uncle subsequently takes a seat next to you.
“Oh, Uncle,” You start before he can speak. “I’m so, so sorry. You shouldn’t have flown all this way. I can’t believe I was so stupid to have—”
“Hey, hey,” Your uncle interjects. “None of that. You have no reason to be sorry. You needed me, so I’m here. I’m not mad, and this is not your fault.”
Tears form in the corners of your eyes.
“I just feel like I’ve inconvenienced so many people. If I could have just paid attention…” You lament. “And now I’ve totally made you drop everything to be here. I know you’ve still got work—”
“You are a thousand times more important than my job, sweetheart.” He shakes his head and squeezes your hand, echoing Jesse’s previous words.
“But…”
“You are my family. Nothing is more important than that.”
You smile at his adamancy.
“And especially since losing Rafael,” He continues. “I think of you as my own.”
“I know, Uncle.”
You squeeze his hand back in affection.
“D-did…” You suddenly say. “Did you tell—”
“No, your mother and father don’t know a thing about this.” He answers insightfully.
“Thank god.”
“Did you want me to tell them?”
You grimace. Your uncle chuckles.
“I figured as much.” He surmises.
“I just don’t know how to keep this from them forever, though,” You continue. “They’ll see it through the insurance company. I…”
“Don’t worry about that. I can talk to the nurses later today before I leave, see if I can pay it in full myself without needing to use your father’s insurance.”
“Uncle, please. Please don’t do that. This is going to be so costly, and you’ve still got your mortgage and Raf’s leftover student debt—”
“I just want you to focus on getting better, alright? I don’t want anything else on your plate right now.”
“Uncle, promise me. Please. Please promise me. Do not spend a single cent on this. I want to do this on my own. I’ll figure it out. Please promise me.”
He gives you nothing more than a smile in response.
Tumblr media
Your friends and uncle take turns rotating as your company for the rest of the day. They’d only leave your side when the doctors and nurses needed to conduct extensive tests to ensure that you were still stable. You were never on your own for more than a few seconds, your loved ones determined that you not feel alone.
You’d turned your phone on almost immediately after Dina’d handed it to you. But as a small, gracious gesture of appreciation, you had set it aside to give your visitors your undivided attention for the rest of the day.
It wasn’t until the evening, when your friends and uncle waved you goodbye as visiting hours ended, that you allowed yourself to finally glance at your notifications.
Anxiously picking your phone up, the first thought you have is to call Abby. Jesse and Dina had mentioned she was with them in the waiting room the night before. But, like your friends, she was informed that she wasn’t permitted to see you in the ICU as she wasn’t family. Dina and Jesse sent her home with the promise to let her know as soon as possible when you finally woke up and that you were alright.
You notice that she’d messaged you earlier in the day. But much too embarrassed to face her just yet, you decide instead to first call your old freshman roommate.
Tara picks up after only two rings, almost as if she’d been waiting by the phone for your call. She greets you with a happy shriek of your full name, an amused giggle escaping your lips as a response to her sudden enthusiasm.
“Thank fucking god!!! I’ve been waiting all fucking day to hear the sound of your voice!”
“Umm, I have no idea what you’re talking about,” You reply, smirking. “This is actually Satan, here to leave a message. I’m calling to let you know that I will be collecting your mortal soul sometime during the next 24 hours.”
“Oh nooooo,” Tara plays along. “What on earth have I done to warrant eternal damnation, Miss Satan?”
“Not sure if you know, but homosexuality is actually a cardinal sin. And unfortunately, you seem to be a notorious, flaming homosexual. I know, I know; it’s quite disappointing. But alas, I do not make the rules.”
“But Miss Satan, are you not a homosexual too?”
“Well, that’s exactly how I know it’s a sin.”
The two of you crackle at each other’s banter, and you make plans in your head to spend more time with Tara and the rest of the girls after you’re released from the hospital.
Tumblr media
You and Tara chat for a little while about the most mundane things, like her classes the day before and her plans for the weekend. She apologizes for not having more to say and for “being so boring,” but you’re genuinely happy to just hear her prattle off about anything.
At some point, she hands her phone over to Astrid, who greets you with a similarly delighted shriek that her girlfriend had received you with prior. She gushes over you with love and concern, insisting that she and all the Wilson girls come to visit you as soon as you’re out and adjusted.
“Tara just about broke down when I told her about it.” She reveals. “She was about to leave for her shift at Ruston’s when Dina called, and I’m pretty sure the whole dorm could hear her sobbing.”
“What?! I did not!” You hear Tara shout from a short distance.
“You had so much snot running down from your nose that I just about hosed your face down before you left!” Astrid yells back.
“Stop telling her that! She doesn’t need to hear all that!!”
You giggle at the couple’s repartee.
“Anyway,” Astrid continues. “Kris, Sid, and I tried to come down for a visit, but they apparently only let family in. Jesse and Dina seemed to have monopolized the fake roles of being your family already.”
“Yeah, sorry about that, Addy.”
“Oh, don’t be sorry,” She brushes off. “I’m just glad that you haven’t been alone there. Those two really care about you, you know.”
“Yeah, I know.”
“Dina started to make a whole fuss when they wouldn’t let us past,” Astrid continues. “Threatened to sue the nurses, all the doctors, the entire hospital. The receptionist nurse didn’t even get a chance to kick her out ‘cause Jesse himself forced her to go leave and take a walk to calm down. I don’t think she came back until a couple of hours later.”
“Yeah, that sounds like our Dina.” You snort.
The two of you discuss what you’d like to do whenever you finally get released, Astrid swearing to get you out of your apartment nearly every day after your discharge.
“I don’t think I have all the stamina for all that, babe.” You chuckle.
“Then you better get yourself to the gym with Jesse, and build that stamina the fuck up! I want your sexy self at parties and clubs, living your best 20s life with us!”
You chuckle warily at this, simultaneously pushing away the reminder of who Jesse’s daily workout partner is.
Tumblr media
After saying your goodbyes to Tara and Astrid, you make brief calls to the rest of the girls of the Wilson Crew. They all answer your calls with an assortment of jubilant greetings, each girl expressing their elation and gratefulness that you’re finally awake and safe.
You send individual texts of love to Dina, Jesse, and your uncle, thanking them extensively for coming to your aid and expressing your excitement to see them again very soon.
Having done your rounds of gratitude, you finally acknowledge that you can no longer ignore the unread texts of the blonde-braided woman you’d had your near-fatal dinner with. You open up your message thread with Abby to see that she’d sent you only three texts earlier in the day.
Tumblr media
You stare at her text.
Oh. Huh.
No part of you blamed Abby for the incident; in fact, you’d been feeling a tremendous amount of remorse for putting her through such a traumatizing and jarring ordeal. It had been plaguing you so much since you woke up that you were far too embarrassed to ask Jesse and Dina more about her.
But something about her texts bothers you. There was very little warmth and familiarity in her messages. Her words didn’t seem that of the woman who had been walking you to your classes every day, who showed you off to her friends at the Bow and the Arrow, who treated you to a lavish restaurant on a fancy date. Who kissed you with so much passion on the sidewalk of that same restaurant the evening before.
Is… Is she angry with me?
You continue to stare at her strange messages for several more minutes, unable to process the situation you’re somehow in now. You can’t think of an appropriate response that would lead to something honest, so you decide to put your response off.
A-at least until after they release me… At least until I get home…
Tumblr media
The doctors only began to discuss the possibility of your discharge early Sunday morning. Though it hadn’t even been a full two days since your admittance, it took everything in you not to practically beg them to let you go. You’d been insisting to anyone who’d listen that you were completely fine, that you’d walk right out yourself if you weren’t strapped to your bed with a million wires.
It wasn’t until midday, as you were mercilessly beating Jesse’s Shy Guy as Pink Gold Peach in Mario Kart, that Yoojin walked into your room with good news. You don’t notice her at first, too busy taunting Jesse for landing in 7th place while you scored 1st.
“You only won because I got Lakitu’d in the second lap! Fuckin’ Isabelle was sending red shells at me nonstop…” Jesse gripes.
“Sucks. Sounds like a personal problem, man.” You shrug.
“Alright, I want a rematch, but on the Egg course this time.”
“You’re such a sore fucking loser!”
“There’s a shortcut on Yoshi’s circuit close to where the finish line is, by the way,” Yoojin interjects, eyes smiling. “If you use a mushroom and drift to the hidden waterfall on the right, it’ll get you pretty far ahead.”
You and Jesse look up, a bit sheepish at her witnessing your juvenile behaviour. The nurse looks completely unbothered by it, however, and she approaches your bed as you place your controller down.
“Aww, come on, Yoojin,” You whine. “Don’t tell him that! I’m on a winning streak!”
“Shh,” Jesse shushes you, attempting to cover your face with one hand. “Don’t listen to her, Yoojin. She’s delirious from all the drugs you’ve been pumping her with. I must know all your secrets, ‘cause I swear, this one is cheating.”
“Maybe later,” Yoojin laughs as you flick Jesse’s forehead. “Because you might want to hear what your doctor just told me.”
Your ears perk up at this.
“I can go home?”
“Your most recent labs just came back, and everything looks good.” Yoojin nods. “And your vitals have been stable for the last 24 hours. So unless you plan on wolfing down ten pounds of shrimp sometime before leaving, we can get started on getting you released sometime later today.”
Your face breaks out in a huge smile, and you turn to grasp Jesse’s arm.
“Dude! I can go home!” You exclaim.
“Yes, I heard,” Jesse says. You can feel his smirk through his face mask. “Finally.”
You turn back to Yoojin.
“I can go right now?” You ask.
“It’ll take a couple of hours to make sure everything’s set for your discharge,” Yoojin says, chuckling at your eagerness. “But just hang tight, and you’ll be out of here in no time.”
“Why don’t you guys settle things here while I go tell your uncle?” Jesse offers.
Your uncle had stepped out to get some lunch at the hospital’s food court not too long ago. He and Jesse had arrived on the dot when visiting hours began earlier in the day. Dina had accompanied them but left shortly after to take care of other obligations, promising to be right back the second she was done.
“Oh, that’d be great,” You say. “Thanks, Jess.”
“No worries, bud. I’ll be right back.”
He gives you a pat on the head before leaving you alone with the nurse.
“So before you leave, we’ll go over a few things to make sure you don’t suddenly relapse during the next few days,” Yoojin begins. “And we’ll make sure you go home with a couple of new, unexpired EpiPens, just in case.”
You nod as she goes on to explain the plans for your discharge. You listen attentively, determined not to end up back in the hospital like this again. As Yoojin wraps up, you work yourself up to ask her a question that’s been at the tip of your tongue since the beginning of the conversation.
“Hey, umm, before you go,” You mutter nervously. “I wanted to ask about how much all of this will cost me. I-I know it’ll be pricey and all, especially with two brand new EpiPens, so I just want to be prepared.”
“That’s not really something I can help you with,” Yoojin replies apologetically. “That’s the jurisdiction of the hospital’s billing department. But I’m sure you can get it all settled with your insurance after you’ve been released. Depending on what you have, they should cover most of it.”
You give her a tentative smile as you wring your blanket between your fingers.
“A-alright then.” You sigh defeatedly.
Tumblr media
It takes about two hours for you to finally be released from all your restraints and another hour until you’re finally walking out of the hospital and into the sunny parking lot. Yoojin allowed you a quick embrace before you left, insisting that you promise to be much more careful from here on out.
You lean against your uncle and Jesse for support as you exit the hospital’s automatic sliding doors, legs still a little shaky after being bedridden for so long. Dina pulls up next to you in her car and gets out to open the passenger door.
“M’lady.” She says with a bow, gesturing to the seat.
“Shut up, D.” You laugh, rolling your eyes.
“You sure you’ve got everything?” Your uncle inquires.
“I think so,” You reply. “Didn’t really bring anything with me.”
“Alright, well, I’ll head to my hotel room first so I can take care of a few things. I’ll meet the three of you at your apartment sometime later today. Sound good?”
You, Jesse, and Dina all nod in unison. Before he walks away, you wrap your arms around him in a tight hug.
“Thank you so much, Uncle,” You murmur. “It means so much to me that you came.”
“Anything for you, sweetheart. Anything at all.”
He gives you a quick squeeze before releasing you, promising he won’t take very long before walking away towards his rental car.
“So,” Dina chimes. “Wanna grab some gross, greasy non-hospital food on the way home?”
Tumblr media
When you finally cross the threshold of your apartment, you’d already wolfed down the majority of your fries along with half a chocolate milkshake. You collapse onto your couch with a relieved sigh, your best friends falling next to you on either side. You lean your head onto Dina’s shoulder as you take her hand between both of yours.
“I think I’m about to go into the world’s longest food coma.” You decree.
“I’m right alongside you, dude.” Jesse agrees, having devoured one and a half burgers himself on the way.
“No comas, please, or we’re gonna have to turn right back around and readmit you into that hospital.” Dina says.
“Never again, please,” You beg. “If I have to hear the nonstop beeping of a heart monitor for one more second, I’m going into straight-up fight-or-flight mode.”
Your friends chuckle.
“Alright,” Jesse eventually says as he sits up straighter. “Now that you’ve been freed, what do you want to do first?”
You hum as you ponder his question.
“Get so blackout drunk that I totally forget this entire experience ever even happened in the first place?” You offer.
“Right, well, perhaps we can do something that isn’t completely stupid and detrimental to your health. Especially after you were just in the hospital after almost dying.” Dina retorts.
You boo her as Jesse chuckles.
“Well,” You continue. “I guess I should tell the girls I’m finally out. I promised them I would. Or did you guys say anything to them already?”
“Not yet,” Dina says. “They’ll probably want to hear it from you.”
You groan.
“You’re right. Ugh. I don’t think I can handle the sheer amount of screaming and excitement that’ll come with it, though. Kris sounded like she was going to smother me with so much love that I’d suffocate from it.”
“You can always put it off, at least until tomorrow.” Jesse counters.
“I guess so. You think they’ll be mad?”
“Babe,” Dina says, squeezing your hands and rolling her eyes. “You almost died. I think they’ll survive a day.”
“Alright, alright,” You giggle. “I probably should focus on getting work done before class tomorrow, anyway.”
“Ma’am, I know you are not thinking of going to your classes right after you were just in the hospital all weekend.” Jesse scolds sternly.
“I’m fine!”
“Dear lord.” Jesse sighs, exasperated.
“Like I said,” Dina repeats. “You almost died. School is not a priority right now. You need to be resting, not writing essays and doing homework.”
“I don’t want to fall behind!”
“Didn’t your doctor give you a school note before we left earlier? She said you can give it to your professors to excuse you from your classes this week.”
“Yeah, but it’s not mandatory or anything. I’m fully recovered now, so it just seems totally unnecessary.”
“Like hell it is!” Dina bellows before releasing your hands to stand up from the couch. You fall flat on your face onto her spot when her shoulder disappears from under your head, and you muffle irritated curses into the couch cushion. You look up to see she’s disappeared momentarily into your bedroom.
“D… What are you doing?”
Dina reemerges after a few seconds, your laptop in her hands.
“Babe. What’d you get that for?” You ask suspiciously.
“I’m emailing all of your professors myself to tell them that you will not be attending any of your classes this week. Especially since it seems that you want to be such a stubborn dumbass about it…” Dina says matter-of-factly, shoving your head away from her spot on the couch to sit beside you once more.
“Never should have given you my password.” You grumble as Dina opens up your laptop and easily bypasses your lockscreen.
“Alright, who are all your professors again?” She asks, opening up your browser to access your email.
“I’m not telling you!” You reply stubbornly, crossing your arms.
“Hmm… I know she’s got Olinick’s double class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Mulligan at least on Mondays—” Jesse lists, counting your professors on one hand.
“No, no, no, I don’t!” You turn towards him, shoving your hands in his face.
“—I think Joslin from the English department too, but I can’t remember if that was last year or this year.”
“Jesse!”
Tumblr media
By the time your uncle arrives at your apartment, you’d conceded to your best friends and allowed them to draft an excuse email to all of your professors. Dina opens the door for him after he knocks while you make final edits to your letters, and he settles into the ratty, secondhand armchair right next to the couch.
Your uncle chuckles at the scene before him: you with a focused look on your face typing rapidly on your laptop, Jesse leaning back into the couch while gently patting the top of your head as he continued to make suggestions to your email, and DIna taking her seat right back next to you before kicking her feet onto your lap as you lift and place your laptop on top of her legs. It had been a while since your uncle had seen you so relaxed around other people, the last time being right before your freshman year of college. His fondness for your best friends quickly grows by the second.
You look up from your work for a moment to smile warmly at your uncle, and he returns it with one of his own.
“Hi, Uncle! Sorry, I’m just finishing up this email to my professors.”
“No need to apologize, sweetheart. You telling them you won’t be attending any classes this week?”
“Yup,” Jesse answers for you. “Took a lot of bullying on our part to convince her not to overwork herself with school right now.”
“This dummy wanted to go back to classes right away as if nothing happened.” Dina rolls her eyes as she extracts a foot from underneath your laptop to kick you softly, earning her a stern “Hey, hey, hey!” from you.
“Well, thank goodness she has you two to set her straight.” Your uncle chuckles.
“Oh, she’s absolutely lost without us.” Jesse says, continuing to pat the top of your head.
Your uncle smiles. He can tell that Jesse’s joking around, but he knows that the couple have both been selflessly keeping you alive for the past few years.
“So how are you feeling?” Your uncle continues with concern etched on his face.
“Not so bad,” You admit. “Just so glad to be among civilians once again.”
You feel Jesse rub your upper back kindly.
“I’m sure,” Your uncle smiles kindly. “How about we talk about what you’re going to do now that you’re out?”
Tumblr media
The four of you discuss what the next, post-hospital visit steps would be. They remind you of the check-up appointment you have later in the week, caution you once more about what foods you need to constantly be looking out for, and double-check that you have your new EpiPens handy and within constant reach.
“I still have my current EpiPen in the bathroom,” You say. “It hasn’t lapsed yet. So maybe I can give you each of the ones they sent me home with, if that isn’t too much of an inconvenience to either of you guys?”
You turn towards Dina then Jesse.
“You sure?” Jesse asks.
“Yeah, I mean, I obviously don’t want something like this to happen again. But if, by some hideous trick of fate, I end up in a repeat situation, it might be smart to just have one in multiple places. Just to cover my bases, I guess.”
“I don’t mind at all,” Dina nods. “As long as you have easy access to one at all times.”
“Yeah, that was my thinking too,” You agree. “Plus, I don’t want to have to use one of yours again, Jess.”
“Mm, I guess.” Jesse hums.
Your eyes meet his and you once again recognize his poker face.
“That sounds like a good plan,” Your uncle agrees. “Let’s try not to rely on just luck next time around.”
You give him an apologetic smile.
Tumblr media
The sun had been set for at least an hour when Dina and Jesse finally took their leave. Both offer to stay the night, in case you suddenly need either of them, but you assure them that you’ll survive one night alone just fine. You embrace each of them tightly, putting every ounce of gratitude you have into your hugs.
You settle back onto the couch after you see them both out the door, and you turn towards your uncle still sitting in the armchair.
“I know I’ve said this probably a hundred times the past day or so,” You begin. “But thank you for coming, Uncle.”
“I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if I didn’t come,” He replies. “Neither would Raf if he was still around.”
You both share a sad smile.
“I miss him, Uncle…” You whisper suddenly.
“I know. I do too.”
You sigh before continuing.
“I wish he was still here. I feel… I feel so incomplete without him around. Like this has all been an awful nightmare that I have yet to wake up from.”
“I know just what you mean,” Your uncle laments. “But our lives still go on, sweetheart. I think it’d make him sad to see us grieving him for the rest of our lives.”
“But… it just feels so wrong. It feels so wrong to stop grieving for him, to move on from him.”
“It’s not exactly moving on from him,” Your uncle ponders. “It’s more like… We make a place for him in our hearts. It’s sort of like he becomes a part of us. He’ll always be in everything we do.”
Your eyes well up as a childhood memory floods your thoughts.
Tumblr media
When you were eleven years old, you had your first anaphylactic experience. You and Rafael were hanging out at his house, your uncle at work all day. You were making a mess in the kitchen, developing concoctions with half the contents of the pantry. As you were dumping a bag of marshmallows into a blender full of graham crackers and banana slices, Rafael fished an old bag of chips out of one of the cabinets.
The writing on the bag was all in a language you couldn’t understand, but the superheroes on the front seemed to be enjoying the crunchy snack. Raf was tearing the bag open before your greasy fingers started grabbing at its contents.
It didn’t even take two minutes until Rafael realized something was wrong. You were annoyed and taken aback when he slapped the chips out of your hand. It wasn’t until he was hauling you to the garage and strapping you into the passenger seat that you began to feel dizzy. By the time Rafael had driven to the emergency room, your skin had broken out into hives and your throat felt completely swollen. The last thing that you remembered before blacking out was your faithful cousin scooping you up and sprinting to the emergency room’s entrance.
You didn’t hear the end of it from your parents when you’d woken up from being unconscious after a couple of hours. Your mother spared no shame in relentlessly admonishing you, regardless of who was in the room, for your “stupidity.” The doctors and nurses offered you continuous looks of pity as they had to witness your many verbal lashings, though none stepped in to interfere. You were blamed for inconveniencing the family, for forgetting your EpiPen at home, for “forcing” Rafael to drive a car when he didn’t have his driver’s license yet, for obligating your parents to pay for your medical bills.
From that day on, your fear of your parents’ wrath was far greater than the fear of possibly falling prey to your fatal allergy.
All that gave you hope was your uncle and cousin coming to your defense. Unlike your parents, they showered you with care and love, especially Rafael who felt guilty and responsible for your admission. They nursed you back to health after you were released, Rafael promising you that he’d never let it happen to you again.
Tumblr media
“Can I tell you something, Uncle?” You ask. “I didn’t even tell Jesse or Dina this. And I don’t think I ever could.”
“You never even have to ask, sweetheart. You know you can tell me anything.”
“I…” You gulp. “There was a point… while I was in the ICU that I was a little lucid for a few moments…”
You wring your fingers together in uneasiness as you stare down at your lap, unable to meet your uncle’s eyes.
“I… I didn’t know what was happening to me. I didn’t know I was going through anaphylaxis again. But I just knew… I felt that something was wrong with me.”
Your uncle listens to you intently, his chin on his hands folded as if he were praying.
“Something inside me… Somehow, I knew that I was dying,” You continue. “Or I knew that at that moment, I could die. I could keep going… or I could choose to let my body give out completely.”
You finally meet your uncle’s gaze.
“And I wanted to. I wanted to just… go,” You confess. “Not in a s-suicidal way. Not exactly, at least.”
Your eyes fill with thick tears.
“But… I wanted to be with him again. I knew that if I gave in, if I succumbed to whatever was killing me, I would see him again.”
Your bottom lip shakes as you continue.
“I miss him so f-fucking much, Uncle. I don’t know how to go on without him around. I’m so l-lost and confused, and all I want to do is talk to h-him about it. But I can’t. There’s n-nobody else in this world that I’ve ever felt as close to as him. Maybe except—”
You break off before you can finish, shaking off the memory of ocean green eyes and a constellation of freckles. The look on your uncle’s face tells you that he already knows how your sentence was going to end, but he says nothing.
“He told me he’d never let anything happen to me. He was always supposed to be here with me,” You sob. “I know that’s selfish. I know that his life didn’t revolve around me. But so much of mine did. I planned… I built my life to always include him. Now what the hell am I supposed to do?”
Your uncle’s sad eyes watch as you roughly wipe your cheeks of the tears uncontrollably streaming down.
“Sweetheart…” Your uncle begins as he stands up from the armchair to sit next to you on the couch. “You are not selfish. I know how much he meant to you. How much he still means to you.”
He takes your hands between his.
“I just…” You sniffle. “It’s been years. I thought I’d healed from it already. I thought I’d moved past all the pain.”
“It’s not a continuous thing, dealing with your grief.” Your uncle smiles softly. “You’ll have moments, hard ones where it’ll all feel raw and fresh again. It doesn’t mean you’re weak or selfish. You just have your own way of handling your sadness.”
You nod in acknowledgement of his words.
“But I think we both owe it to Raf to live our lives, to be happy without him around,” He continues. “His gift to us was time. Time with him and great memories. Even if he’s no longer with us, we’ll continue to carry that gift with us wherever we go.”
Your uncle smiles and you return it, though wistfully.
“I’m very grateful that you trusted me to share this with me,” Your uncle begins. “But don’t be afraid to talk about this with your friends. Especially those two.”
“Jesse and Dina?”
He nods.
“I see just how much they love you,” Your uncle says. “They seem like they would do absolutely anything for you. And I am so grateful that you have people like that in your life.”
“Yeah, they… mean so much to me.”
“I’m glad. So, please. If I’m not around, don’t be afraid to confide in those two. I’m sure if the roles were reversed, you’d do the same for them.”
“I’d do absolutely anything for them.”
“Exactly. So don’t be afraid to embrace the love in your life. You deserve that. And that’s exactly what Rafael would want for you.”
You throw your arms around your uncle and sob into his shoulder.
Tumblr media
You and your uncle continue to talk for a while until you realize that it’s nearly midnight. Like your friends, he offers to stay the night in case you need him. But you know his flight home was only in a few short hours, so you insist that he go back to his hotel to get a bit of sleep before he needs to leave for the airport.
It took everything in you not to beg him to stay, but you couldn’t bear troubling him further. And you longed to finally have some time to yourself, so you put on a brave face.
After your many assurances that you would take care of yourself better, you walk him to your front door. When you open it up, you both notice a simple brown box with a thin bow placed on top of your doormat. You pick it up, noticing how light it feels in your hands.
“What is this?” You mutter.
“You got a package?” Your uncle asks, looking at the box.
“No… I didn’t order anything.”
“Strange. Maybe your friends Dina and Jesse left it for you.” He offers.
“I… I guess,” You frown. “Although, I don’t really know why they wouldn’t just give it to me when they were here earlier.”
“Hmm, that’s true,” He hums, squinting his eyes at it. “A secret admirer, perhaps?”
“Ha ha, Uncle. Very funny.”
You give him an amused grimace before untying the bow and removing the lid. You gasp as you recognize what it contains.
“Oh…”
You drop the box and embrace its previous contents.
“My Barbie Bear…”

author's notes:
thank y'all so much for you patience waiting for this new chapter to come out. i literally wrote like, half of this while in the psych ward, and that was all the way in decemeber sldkfjlsdk
tbh i meant this chapter to be a lot shorter than it turned out to be but lskdjfs more content for y'all ig!
reader's first words after waking up is inspired by me saying, "i need to poop so bad" when the doctors were busy working on me in the emergency room lmaoooo
silver lining of me being in the icu back in december is being able to describe it in detail in this chapter hehe. being in the icu suuuuucked but mostly cause it was boring and cold and i wasn't allowed to get up to pee!!!
the nurse yoojin is named after one of my nurses while i was in the hospital. i loveddddd her, she was such a sweetheart and it made me so happy whenever she was assigned to me. i was rewatching arcane while i was in the hospital, and she saw and asked me about it, and then we gabbed about the show and league of legends (cause she religiously plays the game but hasn't watched arcane yet), and i eventually convinced her to actually watch the show heeeheee
reader’s uncle saying he sees reader as his own is what uncle iroh says to zuko in atla, fun little easter egg heehee (you know me and my love for easter eggs)
reader greeting tara on the phone as satan was how i first greeted my best friend when i was finally able to call her through the public phone in the psych ward (hi rhi LOL)
pink gold peach is my main in mario kart lol
reader's professors mentioned are all named after old professors from my former college's theatre department (rip dennis, miss you always ❤️)
reader’s uncle telling her “we make a place for him in our hearts” in regards to rafael is what tara in buffy the vampire slayer says to dawn when their mom dies (can you tell i love btvs)
working on the next chapter asap, lmk what you think of this chapter in the meantime!
also i made an ao3, so if you wanna read on there too, check it out!

could you write a drabble where darry’s girlfriend is totally adored by the rest of the boys and she’s almost motherly to them?
bro... thank you for planting this idea in my head ♡︎
pairing: darry curtis x f!reader wc: 972 warnings/notes: none
You met Darry six months ago while you were at the grocery store. You were clearly having trouble trying to reach something on the top shelf and he offered to help you, retrieving the item and handing it to you with a charming, kind smile. The two of you ended up talking in the spice aisle for nearly ten minutes before you both realized that you had places to be. Darry had scribbled his home phone number on your grocery list before leaving. Since then, you mostly saw him on the weekends when he wasn’t working, or on the rare occasion that he wasn’t totally exhausted after work, you would see him for dinner.
It took a while for him to introduce you to his brothers, and eventually the rest of their little gang. But when he did, he came to notice that the boys treated you differently than anyone else. They seemed to respect you, and they didn’t really pick on you or mess with you like they did other people. That was also partially because you seemed to take care of them, and honestly you didn’t even think much of it. You just found yourself doing little things for them here and there. It started with you cleaning up Darry’s work boots one night, and then you ironed Sodapop’s work shirt one day while he was running late for work, and you’ve helped Ponyboy with his homework on multiple occasions when he was struggling through his math homework.
It made Darry’s heart swell, especially when you took care of Ponyboy and Soda. Ever since their mom died, they haven’t had a female, or even somewhat of a motherly figure in their life. Darry could be tough on them, so having your gentle nature around was almost comforting for them.
Today you had the day off of work so you spent some time at the Curtis’ house. Darry was working so you tried to clean up the place to take it off of his shoulders. Besides, you sometimes spent the night with Darry and ate dinner with them, so you figure you might as well pull your own weight and treat the place as your own.
“You know Y/N, this ain’t even your house. You don’t have to clean up after us.” Pony says while he sits on the couch and Johnny sits on the floor near the coffee table, and the two of them were playing ‘go fish’.
“Well- I stay here enough and eat enough of yall’s food, I might as well. And I don’t want Darry to have to worry about it when he gets back from work.” You explain as you wipe down the kitchen table with a damp cloth.
Ponyboy smiles softly at that before he looks down at the cards in his hand. “Well… I know that Darry really appreciates it. He probably don’t show it or say it, but… I know he does.” Pony tells you with a little nod.
“I just know he’s got a lot on his plate, and I don’t see you boys helping him clean up much.” You say, the teasing tone clear in your voice while you grin over at Pony. Pony’s expression turns sheepish immediately, and Johnny even chuckles at your playful scolding.
Later that evening when Darry comes home, you stand in the kitchen with him while you two wait for dinner to finish cooking. After a few moments, Darry turns to you as you’re leaning against the counter.
“You know, Ponyboy told me you scolded him like a mother today.” Darry says, and you groan and shake your head.
“I did not! I was just messing with him-” You insist, and Darry laughs.
“He knows that, doll face. I just… think it’s funny. You really do take care of us.” Darry says with a little smile while he reaches for your hand.
You think about it for a second, and you realize that you really do take care of these boys.
“Well… you’re my boys. And someone’s gotta keep some order around here.” You tell Darry with a grin. You hear the front door open, and you poke your head out from around the doorway to see Sodapop and Steve.
“Aht aht, don’t bring them dirty boots in the house. Leave ‘em on the porch.” You tell the two of them, and Ponyboy laughs as they turn back around and begin to take their boots off on the porch.
When you turn back to Darry in the kitchen, the man is just grinning from ear to ear.
“What were you saying about keeping order around here?” He asks jokingly and you can’t help but laugh.
“Hell, even Dally listens to you. You must have instilled some kinda fear in him or something.”
You laugh at that and shake your head, and you move closer to Darry so you’re tucked in his side.
“But… really. Ever since our folks passed, Pony and Soda haven’t really had… a woman to care for them, or like.. A mother figure. If you know what I mean.” Darry tries to explain, and you nod while giving him a little smile.
“I understand, Darry. Really- and… I’m happy to be that for them. I know I can never replace your mom, and I don’t want to- but… I’m happy to look after them. I know it's hard for you to do on your own.” You explain to Darry, and he lets out a quiet sigh while he looks down at you with an expression of admiration.
“Have I ever told you that I love you?” Darry asks, and you laugh softly.
“Yeah. Once or twice I think.” You tease him lightly before the two of you carry on with making dinner before the boys in the living room start getting too rowdy.

Where Did The Years Go?
Yan Scaramouche x GN Reader.
Synopsis: You said you understood him. So why do you plan to leave him too?
Warnings: Yandere themes, manipulation, Scara is in his Kabukimono era, thoughts of murdering the Reader, and unhealthy relationships.
Word Count: 800.
*~*~*~*
Dendrobium could only grow in areas where Celestia is blind. Kabukimono knew that, almost more than he knew anything else. The Dendrobium blooming next to a grave long since abandoned, much like the rest of this island, has no one to watch over it, no one aside from you and him. The seven red flowers sprouting in the tomb were unloved by this world, much like Kabukimono once used to be before he found a home within you, his beloved.
The flower had many names, unlike the unmarked, broken stone that hid some sort of rotting human beneath the soil. The Flower of Poison because of the stamens which are indeed poisonous to mortals unlike himself, intended to keep pests like mice away from the inner parts. The Flower of Death was another ominous title since the flowers are said to bloom only when an Inazuman is said to cross over to the other side after passing on, be it from old age, disease, or some slow and painful death they either did or did not deserve. Sometimes, when you are feeling guilty enough, you visit this grave too, and sit down to meditate, contemplating what your mother is doing in the afterlife if it even existed. Perhaps this was why you were given a Vision, the shade of that of the tea you often brewed for both Kabikumono and yourself, a bright green color that dared not dwindle. The Flower of The Other Shore is also a common label for Dendrobium because when a soul passes the river they are said to be greeted by a field of them. Kabukimono ponders for a moment, leaning down to pick out a petal, playing with it between his thumb and pointer finger, stopping when he hears you call out his name, followed by the slightly loud note of a bell. He leans back down and buries the petal within the soil of the grave, bowing before hurrying off in the direction of your home.
Today’s dinner is a combination of what you both managed to gather. Kabukimono gathered the fish and seaweed, while you cooked the rice from the small field outside your home, along with some Lavender Melon. Your meals are often like this, Kabukimono found out a few days into him becoming a resident here for the time being, that what you ate depended heavily on the weather and the harvest. He promises himself that one day he will treat you to a meal and life so grand that you will never go back to foraging all day to just be barely given enough to scrape by.
Seven months have passed since he first arrived here, according to you. He hopes that this life will continue to get better and that he will be able to give you the life you deserve.
“Kabukimono,” The saying of your name is unusually deflated like it has been the past week or so. “I… have to tell you something, alright?”
“Absolutely! Tell me anything, anything at all.”
What comes out of your mouth is not what he wanted to hear at all. “I… I’m leaving Yashiori Island.”
“...Huh?” He looks down at the small bowls that are in the center of the two of you. His side, as usual, has more food than yours, because you keep saying you cannot bear to see him go hungry. “Why?”
“There is not enough food. Not enough… anything. The thunderstorms are getting much worse too… I can’t live here anymore.”
You think this is the first time you have been scared of Kabukimono, because that new expression he is wearing is utterly terrifying.
“I… I’m sorry, Kabukimono. I’m… leaving for Inazuma City soon.”
He smiles, and in the blink of an eye, he is standing up and then your foreheads are touching, his hands grabbing your shoulders so tightly you could feel them almost dislocate.
“No, you’re not, because that’s awfully selfish of you! My [First] would never do such a thing, right? They wouldn’t leave me alone to starve and cry and be covered in filth.”
Being aware that you are unaware of his non-human nature, yet acknowledging your uncontainable empathy, makes employing this strategy even simpler. It works every time you want to leave.
“Here, you can have my portion for tonight, alright? Just… Just don’t leave me. Please?” After a moment of silence, along with the tears that trickle down your cheeks, he knows he has one, at least for now. “Don’t leave me. Don’t leave me, [First].”
When you don’t answer again, looking to the side, to the bag of your essentials, Kabukimono wonders if that grave would have enough room for two and not just one.
But he dismisses it because surely, you’ll be with him forever, right?

Johnny Cage
With a (bottom) Male S/O who is basically similar to Nicole Watterson but reversed. Pt.2
(Daycare!)
Tumblr media
M/N watched as his 3 children kept chanting that weird name, now he wasn’t familiar with anyone with that kind of name unless they were talking about Kakashi Hatake which the name “Ninja mime” fits him.
To M/N, he looks like any old-rich- white-dude so why are his kids are so fond of him suddenly? “Woah there little children! Don’t make a scene out of me.” Johnny Cage said with a snarky grin making M/N stoic expression turn firm a little.
“Come on kids, let’s not disturb the gentlemen.” M/N voice had a bit of sweetness mix with irritation as he began to push the cart full of food but it seems like his children didn’t want to leave.
“Aww, but dad. Look this may sound surprising to you but could we at least hang in the store for a couple of hours?” C/N one said, “This is like the only one time we actually might be grateful towards you if you do.” C/N three said
“Couple of hours? No, we have to get home early, cook dinner, go to sleep and take you kids to school.” M/N rebuttal and his three children pouted before looking up at Johnny with adorable-dejected-looking-faces.
“Looks like we can’t know each other yet Ninja-Mime.” C/N two with sadness. Johnny looked down with a half-smile. Looking up at their father who was beginning to walk away. Johnny crouched at their height “How about I..go to your house?”
“You can do that?!” C/N one question with excitement and Johnny just gave them a playful wink.
“Children!!” M/N yelled, the 3 kids jumped at their fathers voice and scurried away from Johnny to their father who was already 6 feet away from them from the aisle.
———————————————————————
Around 5, at home. Biyu was out of the house again to work dead-paying job meaning the children own the house now to do whatever they want.
“He should be here any minute now.”
“You sure? Someone like him has way too much on his hands” C/N two replied to C/N one. The two youngsters head downstairs and stood in front of the door, C/N one was tapping their shoes on the wooden floor impatiently before the doorbell was heard. The children immediately yanked the door open and had nervous smiles on their faces with Johnny cage looking down at them with wide eyes when seeing their nervous expression.
“You kids okay? I know I’m a celebrity and all but- you guys don’t seem like-“
“Oh no! We do want you here! Come! Come in.” C/N two nudged their small hand out for Johnny to come inside. The two looked up with creepy smiles but they were just shy and nervous since a big star came inside their little home. Johnny entered their small house, it was homey but very clustered as their were toys on the floor, and colored pencils laying around with papers drawn. A fish tank sitting on a dresser and kitchen just a few steps away.
The children began to pick up and tidy the living room up a little for their special guest and they did it pretty fast, C/N puts a towel where they accidentally spilled orange juice on the cushion and led Johnny where to sit which he oblige. “So this is where you guys sleep, not particularly my taste but for a normal family such as you guys.” Johnny looked around before he heard something moving and he adverted his eyes to see the three kids of M/N just staring at them. “Do you want anything sir? We got water, Thai tea or orange juice?”C/N one question with a nervous smile
“No need for the hospitality kids, just call me Johnny.” He interjected, “ok! Johnny?! How was your day?! What did you ate?!” M/N children energy were high! Johnny could understand where M/N stoic personality came from (If M/N came back and spot Johnny with his children it would drop his energy already.)
“I haven’t really ate anything today, but I did snuck out during a meeting for a movie just to see you kids.” Johnny replied, “awh, we were that important even we just met..well I know you..but you don’t know me-“ C/N one continued before C/N two smack them on the head for their sibling to not reveal the stalkings they did on Johnny’ daily life.
“So kids..do you guys have any games to play?” Johnny cage asked as he leaned back in the small couch, his legs had to be out stretched on the floor since he was tall.
“We can play (Your favorite game) on the PS5!” C/N one suggests and C/N two opens a cabinet under the TV to reveal the many games they had before picking the game C/N said they could play. The kids brought out their controllers and tossed one to Johnny who caught it in ease. The three began to play the game on the TV, making loud noises in the process making the toddler in the house awake
“CAN YOU GUYS BE QUIET?!” C/N three shouts from the nursery room, the older kids and Johnny quickly shut their mouth but later snickered in response. The three continued to play the PS5 until the clock strikes at 7pm. The sounds of keys rattling against the door heard before opening-
“What are you kids doing?!”

falling in love with soobin was the easiest thing in the world.
you’d been stressed all week from work, with deadlines fast approaching for your classes and applications for grad school following your coattails. you had been dazed for the better part of the night, staying in the library until late, and then rushing in order to catch the 11 PM train back.
all you wanted was to go back to your apartment, and fall asleep on the nearest (somewhat) sleepable location, which at this rate, would probably be your front hallway.
opening your front door, turned on the light and took off your shoes, before being surprised at the dim light that was coming from the living room. as you walked closer, the soft smells of soysauce and sesame hit your noise. taking a peek into the living room, you were met with your boyfriend placing a plate of dumpings on the living room table.
“oh! you’re home! i thought you’d be at the library until a little later, but this is perfect too. i just finished setting up!”, soobin said, before standing up to hug you.
as his arms wrapped around your frame, you felt your worries melt away. your bag dropped from your shoulder to the ground, and your reached up to circle your arms around his shoulders. you nuzzled your face into the crook of his neck, melting as he began to to rub circles into your back.
“you didn’t have to do all this,”, you murmured softly.
“i know. but you’ve been studying so hard, and then you said you were going to stay at the library late today and that you hadn’t had dinner yet, so i thought it would be nice to have a warm meal before you go to sleep tonight.”, he replied simply.
you lifted your head slightly to see the table. he had prepared a stir fry noodle dish, steamed fish, dumplings, a small salad, and two cups of tea, the steam still curling from the rims. he must have cooked for a while, and he also had finals this week as well. you knew that he seldom cooked, often claiming that a kitchen without a soobin in it would be the safest thing for everyone involved. but he had, just so that you had a warm meal when you came home from studying.
——————
as you finished your late night dinner, you glanced over at soobin. he was busy de-boneing the fish he had made, making sure that there weren’t any small bones that “might make my baby choke”. when you ate the leftovers the next day.
you could see the look of concentration on his face as he poked his chopsticks through the fish. the light from your living room lamps cast a small halo of light on his tousled hair, before lighting up the curve of his nose. sitting this close to him, you could see the small freckles that lined his face, his eyelashes as they fluttered when he blinked, and slight upturn of his lips as he smiled once he finished checking over the fish. even though you had been dating for quite a while now, he still managed to find ways to make your heart flutter.
you slowly scooted over to his side of the table before resting your head on his shoulder.
“will you stay over?”, you asked timidly.
“of course,” soobin replied, before reaching over to cup your cheek. “i’ll be here for as long as you need me.”
——————
all of your friends had warned you, "be careful, once you fall for someone there's no going back.”
but somehow, you didn’t mind it all too much. after all, as the kitchen lights softly fell down the slope of your love’s hair as he washed the dishes, you couldn’t think of anywhere better to be, than right here, with soobin.

My little solider
Sokka and reader
Tumblr media
The moon and ocean sprits had not only blessed you with, a wonder husband and tribe. They had also blessed you with a wonderful son, as much as you tried to give your son a normal and peaceful life. It seems like you had been proven wrong as war had come, and now life will never be the same for you and your children.
Sokka “ mama I’m going”
y/n “ huh wait where are you going off to, don’t you want to see you dad off one last time” you were keeping a fire going when Sokka had ran out of the house, today was sorrow day. As the man of the tribe will be leaving for while to help against the war against the fire nation.
katara “ Mama sokka ran off with a sack and war paint on his face, I think he going to join dad” you soon sighed as you looked at your daughter.
Y/n “ kanna can you keep an eye on katara for me”
Kanna “ sure but I saw Sokka running off to join my son and the others”
y/n “ yes it seems like he ready to be warrior at such a young age”kanna had nodded her head and you soon went to go get sokka. You had been able to caught up as he was walking with Hokoda.
hakoda “ it seems like you mama has come to speak with us”
Sokka “ hey mama”
y/n “ hello my little warrior”
Hakoda “ it seems like he wishes to join us”
Sokka “ I want to come with you dad so I can help fight and protect you”
Hakoda “ that is honorable my son but you can’t come with us not yet, you are to young for war and I need you to stay here”
Sokka “ I want to help you fight”
hakoda “ I need you to stay here and look after you mom, sister, and gran gran and helped them when I’m gone”
Y/n “ I know you are strong and brave my son and you will make a fine warrior one day, when the time comes”
Sokka “ …….”
Y/n “ we are going to need brave warriors like you to help around the village, while the older man are away and hey maybe you can teach them some new tricks when they get back”
Hokoda “ yes your mother is right”
Sokka “ I’m going to miss you”Sokka soon hugged his dad, and hokoda had hugged him back.
Hokoda “ I’m going to miss you as well so much that it will hurt, but I know you will be good here”
Sokka “ yes dad” you had given the two some space to talk a bit more, before hokoda and the man had left. You stood there watching as your son made his way back to you holding his bag.
Y/n “ I’m proud of you my little warrior”
Sokka “ really mama”
Y/n “ yes one day you will become a great warrior and helping the world, it might take some time but I know it will happen”
Sokka “ yes mama”
Y/n “ now come on let’s get home hey maybe you can hunt some fish, for dinner tonight”
Sokka “ okay and I will make sure to protect our family”
Y/n “ I know you will” you and Sokka soon hugged each other, and soon walked back into the village together. Sokka will keep his oath to his father and protect the family and village until they came home, and he will keep the promise once he becomes older and his father left again.
Many years later
sokka " well we have everything we will need aang"
aang " thank you both for coming with me"
katara " well it will be good to help you after all we have been through"
sokka " wait where is my club I need it"
y/n " here it this" your son and daughter soon looked back and saw your standing there, before you could say anything they soon rushed and hugged you.
sokka " mom we are ..."
y/n " I know I knew one day you both will leave home and go on your own journey, and I can't stop you all from leave"
katara " we promie we will come home and we will see dad as well"
y/n " I know you will here some food for you all even something for aang to ate as well"
aang " thank you y/n and I will make sure sokka and katara stay safe"
y/n " you stay safe as well all three of you" katara and went to go help aang back the remanding of their supplies onto Appa.
sokka " mom I know you I'm not going to war like dad and uncle bato"
y/n " no my son you are going on your own battle to bring peace to the world, you are no longer my little warrior anymore you are you own warrior now"
sokka " thank you mom"
y/n " now go out to the world and bring peace and hope while being brave and smart, look out for you sister and aang but let them grow as well and yourself as well my boy"
sokka " yes mom I promise I will bring everyone home and we will come home"
y/n " I know you will and you make your father and uncle proud" sokka soon hugged you one last time, the kids had also hugged gran gran as well. They soon took off on papa as you and everyone waved goodbye to them. You are happy for you children as they will go save the world but you still worry about them, you knew the spirits will watch over them and soon bring them home and the war will be over.

You felt the cold wrap around your wrists and tug them to your sides. And finally you got a glimpse of who was messing with you. Tendrils of darkness holding your arms tight, just below the tablecloth. And grinning up at you between your legs, a large smile amidst inky shadow.

Amidst one of Charlie's mind numbing lesson plans, you get a big surprise hiding under the dinner table.
---
i love this stinky swamp man so much and i love the thought of his shadow basically manifesting any and all horny desires and occasionally acting on them despite his best efforts.

The logic behind today’s lesson plan escaped you. Charlie seemed to think that proper table manners and dining etiquette would surely land each participating sinner a spot in Heaven. Like you, most of the Hotel’s residences were less than enthusiastic. But still, why bother trying to redeem your damned soul if you were going to refuse to get involved with all of Charlie’s ideas.
By now the Hotel boasted over twenty willing sinners. Most of which had no clue how to properly hold a butter knife, let alone know the difference between a fish fork and a salad fork. A handful of the volunteers from Cannibal Town were actually well educated in the practices of fine dining, despite their usual methods of messy eating. And they were more than happy to assist Charlie’s lesson. Including the Hotel’s resident facilities manager, the Radio Demon himself, who sat near the head of the table with Charlie and Vaggie.
Halfway through the lesson and you were bored out of your mind. Picking at your food while Charlie attempted to instruct a particularly violent demon on how to use the fork without breaking the fine china. Most of the other residents were chatting quietly amongst themselves as they ate. It wasn’t often the whole Hotel got together to eat and talk casually. And most seemed to be enjoying themselves. You continued to pick at your food until you felt something brush your leg.
You frowned and leaned back in your chair to look down, unable to spot anything in the shadow. You assumed one of the people seated next to you, or perhaps even Angel Dust seated across the table, must have nudged your leg accidentally. And then you felt it again. An icy cold slither up the back of your calf. You glared at Angel, sure he was pulling some kind of joke. But he wasn’t laughing, lost in his own conversation with Husk next to him. You glanced at the other sinners near you, but no one seemed to be paying you any mind.
A shudder ran through you as the thing at your feet touched you again, reaching the hem of your skirt and pushing it up slowly. You leaned back further, but still couldn’t see anything. Just inky darkness below the table cloth. Too dark to simply be the shadow of the table. Quickly sitting up straight and going very still when you felt cold fingers run over your clothed cunt. What the fuck was going on?
This time the thing below you didn’t pull away. Exploring your pussy and inner thighs. You did your best to not show your reaction on your face. Whatever cruel joke someone was playing on you, they wouldn’t get the satisfaction of seeing you enjoy it in front of everyone. Though you did draw a few confused glances when a quiet gasp escaped you. Your mystery friend pressing down on your clit repeatedly. Your hands shot down between your legs. Pressing down on the chair below you and blocking the things access to your core.
You felt the cold wrap around your wrists and tug them to your sides. And finally you got a glimpse of who was messing with you. Tendrils of darkness holding your arms tight, just below the tablecloth. And grinning up at you between your legs, a large smile amidst inky shadow. You’d seen this creature before. Always attached to its master. Your head shot up, looking towards the Radio Demon. He was sitting nearly at the opposite side of the table to you, but even from this distance you could see he was tense. His ever present grin strained as he stared straight ahead, brows furrowed. Not engaging in conversation, just dead focused on, well you knew what.
Another shuddering gasp left you. The shadow having pulled your panties to the side and gaining full access to you. You refused to look down again, trying to remain calm, but you could feel a long, cold tongue on your clit as two fingers slipped inside you. You whimpered, as quietly as you could possibly manage. The stretch didn’t hurt, the combination of your own slick, and whatever substance the shadow was made of making its fingers slide in and out of you easily. It was slow, taking its time to explore every inch of you, inside and out.
Your gaze turned back to Alastor, and you were surprised to see his cheeks flushed bright red. You could see his claws digging into the edge of the table as he gripped it. And all of a sudden you weren’t so sure he was doing this on purpose. Did the shadow have a mind of its own?
Before you could stop it, a horribly loud whine escaped your mouth. Drawing everyone’s attention. You blushed dark, the fingers inside you stilling as everyone stared at you. Everyone except Alastor, who remained staring straight again. Embarrassment clawed up your throat and you stammered to explain yourself.
“Oh yeah! That's what I’m talking about!” Angel Dust moaned across from you, leaning back in his chair as he mimicked your whine, though much louder and far more exaggerated. The table laughed along with him, before returning to their conversations. You frowned at Angel in confusion, but he simply just winked at you and returned to Husk.
You took in a deep breath, right as the shadow curled its fingers inside you. You squeezed your eyes shut and breathed through your nose, focusing on remaining still and quiet as it drew you closer and closer to your orgasm. The coldness of its being a stark contrast to your burning skin.
Glancing once again at Alastor you could see how he was gritting his teeth. For a brief moment the shadow disappeared, not pulling away, simply fading out of existence. Before returning back full force. Seemingly intent on making you finish before Alastor dragged it away from its work.
You clenched your fists and bit down on your bottom lip hard as you rolled your hips against the shadows fingers. Eyes fluttering shut as you felt your pleasure nearing its peak. Distantly you hear Angel talking louder, making lewd jokes and making sure the attention was off you as you tipped over the edge. Thighs trembling as your orgasm flowed over you. Each and every nerve on fire. The wonderful sensations quickly turned into overstimulation as the shadow continued its motions. You squirmed in your seat, struggling to get out of the tendril’s grip so you could push it away. It was hopeless.
You had long since forgotten about keeping quiet. Far too distracted by the fingers and tongue driving you crazy. Right as you were being dragged towards your second orgasm, it all stopped. You whined needily and glanced down, the shadow was gone. Looking up in a daze you noticed so was everyone else. Except for Alastor.
The tall demon stood from his chair, adjusting his coat and running a hand through his hair. He looked embarrassed almost. Avoiding your eye as he turned towards the door. You sat up slowly, watching him as he walked away from you. Still trembling and a little bit out of breath.
“Alastor. Don’t you dare fucking leave. I was just about to cum.”
He froze. And you grinned as the room around you darkened. The length of the shadow crawling up the wall, grin spreading across its dark face. You felt another tentacle of darkness wrap around your waist and lift you out of the chair.
The door in front of Alastor opened and Angel Dust stuck his head in.
“Hey I got everyone to leave and- oh! Well I’ll leave you to it.” He laughed, watching you be maneuvered by Alastor’s shadows before leaving the two of you alone once again.

Heyo lovelies, take however long you want with this one, ik you're busy with everything but something just popped in my head and it's quite cute, how about Jake wants to impress the reader and wants to make up for the time he spent hating on her, so calls neteyam or lo'ak and asks them what our favourite dish is, all three of them are horrible at it but they still do it to make our day special, when the reader comes home after a long day with Ronal , she is suprised so see them all huddled up and is suspicious but then they bring out the creation, them just staring into her soul while she ate it, it wasn't the best but eats it anyways because they made it for her 🥹🥹😭😭❤️❤️❤️ okay this has me melting 🫠 hope you're doing well 💖
A/n: I love all these requests😭
Tumblr media
Jake had a problem. Anyone could see it if they happened to walk into the Sully family’s Marui and saw him sitting hunched over trying to messily scale a fish. Did you even like this fish? Jake wondered as he threw the poorly done fish (which looked like it had been mauled rather than cleaned) into the wicker basket beside him.
Today was the one year anniversary of the two of you being properly mated before Ewya. One year since you had left your home in the forest, one year since fighting Quaritch, one year since losing your son. Jake was well aware that one year did not make up for the several years of damage he had inflicted on you but he was certainly trying his best.
Jake’s ears flicked up hearing footsteps come padding into the marui and he instantly turned around. To his relief it was Lo’ak instead of you and he looked just as surprised seeing his Dad turn to quick. Lo’ak’s eyes read the room, drifting across the scales scattered around Jake’s knees and landed on the basket of barely edible fish. “Y’know Mom said cleaning the fish was strictly her job right?” Lo’ak rhetorically asked. Of course his Dad knew, after what happened the night you and Ronal went out for the evening and Jake had tried to prepare fish, he had been banned from the kitchen for life.
Jake huffed shaking his head and turned back around to the basket. “I am well aware of that.” He stood up, holding the basket and went over near the makeshift counter he had put together for you to work, versus doing it outside (especially when it was raining). “I just-” Jake cut himself off pinching his bridge of his nose, his hand on his hip. “It’s been a year son.” He looked to Lo’ak, “And I want this to be special for your mom. After everything, its the least I can try to do.”
Lo’ak didn’t respond right away trying to decide what to do. But in the end he nodded some and made his way to the counter. “I think I know how to make this meal that Ronal makes for us sometimes. Tsireya explained it, Mom really likes it.” Jake looked down at Lo’ak in surprise, was he offering to help? They hadn’t done something father - son related since they left the forest.
“But. We’re gonna need to get new fish. Not even Lepay will want these.” Lo’ak deadpanned, dangling the barely meated fish in the air before its tail broke and it fell to the ground at their feet with a sickening ‘splat’
Tumblr media
Eclipse had fallen by the time you had made it back home. You and Ronal had such a long day; between her giving you swimming and breathing lessons to diving for ingredients to restock on medicine, then Tsireya, Kiri, and Tuk came asking if they could have a sleepover and it was Tuk’s first one so you were already worrying about that. To say you were tired was an understatement. All you wanted right now was to nibble on some dinner, convince Lo’ak to go out with Aonung and Rotxo and have the evening to just you and Jake.
When you walked in you noticed Jake and Lo’ak standing near the kitchen with their backs to you. They spoke in quick but hushed tones making you raised a brow in suspicion. “Ahem.” You cleared your throat and they instantly turned around, their eyes wide as if they had just been caught red handed.
“You’re back!” Jake tried to enthusiastically say while not looking nervous. He stepped forward to you and Lo’ak moved over to cover up whatever it was that they were hiding. He came over to you and you shared a quick but sweet kiss. “Now,” you smiled looking up at him with a knowing look. “what did you and Lo’ak get into.” Staring down at you Jake could see it in your eyes, the way you smirked that he was hiding something.
He took a deep breath moving his hands up and down your biceps (a nervous habit he had developed.) “Well, today has been one year.” He began, “And when I was with the Sky People we have a tradition called anniversaries.” He tried to explain, using the English term since he didn’t know the na’vi. “It’s on different days for different peoples and couples and its to celebrate something special.” You nodded following along then looking back at him, moving your hands to his so he could squeeze them. “And what are we celebrating tonight?”
Jake bit his inner lip, amazed at how difficult it was for him to form the words to say to you. He felt like he was back in highschool trying to charm that cute redhead cheerleader that was in his trig class. Jake never was successful in asking her out.
“We are celebrating us.” He replied once he found the words, “Sorta like a wedding anniversary. Tonight it’s been a year since we made things official, survived everything with the sky people so I figured you deserved something special.” On cue Lo’ak turned back to the counter and picked up a tray with a pile of food adorning it. Carefully he came over to the dining area and set it down, surprisingly not dropping anything.
When you got closer and sat down beside Jake you realized they had replicated Ronal’s spicy soup and greenery noodles. At first glance it looked delicious, but the real test was to see how it tasted.
Jake and Lo’ak watched you expectantly as you took the first bite. It was different to say the least. The spices were a bit strong in the broth and the noodles were a bit bland but all and all it was edible. “It tastes wonderful.” You smiled. The father and son’s bodies visibly relaxed as they let out a chorus of “yes”s and did what Lo’ak called “bro’s celebration.” You couldn’t help but kindly roll your eyes at their antics. It was good to see them bonding. Lo’ak then came over and gave you a quick hug. “Have a good night mama.” He whispered before getting some of his stuff and jogging out the door.
You looked over at Jake who was now sat down. “Had something to Aonung.” He shrugged then took a bite of his soup. His ears went back at the taste. “Oh god.” He winced making you burst out laughing. “Why didn’t you say it was too strong.” Jake laughed painfully, downing his cup of water. “Because I did not want to hurt you and Lo’ak.” You replied honestly, taking another bite trying to not make a face. “Agh, no babe don’t eat that it’s awful.” Jake chuckled gently setting the bowl down in front of you.
Tumblr media
After you had made an edible dinner for the two of you, you both ate then cleaned up feeling too exhausted to do anything else. Climbing in bed, Jake opened up the covers up for you to climb in rather than him just getting in bed and rolling over like he use to.
“That was really sweet of you to do Ma’Jake.” You whispered into his shoulder hugging him. “It’s the least I could do, after everything.” There was a hint of guilt in Jake’s tone and you squeezed him a bit.
You fell into a comfortable silenence, the waves crashing outside on the beach starting to lull you sleep.
“At least I didn’t try to serve that fish I tried to make.”
“You what.”

MINORS DNI
Next day started slowly, Y/N woke up around 9 a.m with cat still resting near her legs unbothered and curled. She carefuly got up, trying not waking it up and went straight into bathroom to take a shower. Today'll be a day when she is going to take care of mansion. The supplies were filled and she had a car on herself, so nothing was staying in a way. When she went out wearing nothing but sweatshirt, pants and lavender scent, cat lifted it's head then stretched gracefully. They both reached big kitchen when he got a bowl filled with fish and another one with water and Y/N made herself fruit salad. She also checked the list, today was a clearing day, mostly vaccuming and removing dust from the shelves in her room, than clean the bathroom. Cat jumped at her lap and demanded headscratched, which she gladly provided after ending the eating.
"I'm going to call you Ash." Y/N decided and animal just tilted it's head to right. "Your fur remind me of it's color."
The pet's head tilted a little to right, like he was thinking about that, but then nuzzled head into her hand. She smiled and got that as acceptance. After the breakfast cat was allowed outside, when Y/N took vaccum, some rubbers and broom upstairs to her room. The cleaning went smoothly, the most took main area of the masterbedroom, along with it's shelves. The bathroom was suprisingly clean, so she headed to the next room. Till the noon the cleaning lasted, she was suspecting that anyway the unused rooms will again gather dust, but at least any stains or another dirty things'll be gone. Probably the specialist from goverment is used to work with little dust. The biggest challenge will be the main room in 0 level and library. Y/N made herself a break and prepare lunch for herself and Ash, but despite opening doors, the cat was missing. She was slighty worried, something could happen to him or he just left. The cats have their own paths.
Lunch wasn't big but it was a chance for her to take a breath before cleaning the last room on this side. It was a first one - office, with a lot of shelves, that big and old desk with drawers. Y/N tried to clean it carefuly and it came out that some of the drawers are closed and around were no keys. Maybe they were in the ring given by the mayor? It was to check later. Actually she could work here to prevent dust coming here again. The desk was spacious, her laptop and work things would fit perfectly. The clearing ended in late afternoon with also vacuuming big hall on the parter and then Y/N ate a dinner, for supper left once again snadwiches.
When she wanted to go nap a little, the entry phone has ringed. There was also camera to check who's outside and maybe don't bother to go whole way to the gate. To her surprise, outside were two men, one holding something looking like cooking sheet and another one currently looking at camera. She pressed button to talk, said quickly 'coming' then changed shirt to clean one and got outside.
Through gate metal rods Y/N could see them more clearly two visitors, closer one had to her surprise thin, but long coat followed by jeans and lether shoes. His skin was very pale and dark grey, longer hair almost reaching the shoulders. Taller than her and bigger, was holding serious expression. The cookies guardian had brown lether jacket and also jeans but looked more sports, had black raven hair, but cut short in modern style. He was thinnier and looked more deftly. On his was has huge smile and simple glasses. Indeed in his hands were cooking sheet. Y/N came closer with unsure steps and hesitant smile.
"Good morning!" Second one said with happy tone, causing his company to focus on a gate.
"Hi, what's the matter?" She asked in polite voice and open the gate door.
"We've heard that you are new here, so my boyfriend conviced me to come here and say hi, also hand over some of our cookies." The first said in calm and slow tone.
"That's true, actually everyone is saying that I'm new here." Y/N admitted shyly.
"Yea, the words are spreading fast, we just wanted to be nice."
"I'm Hoseak and that grumpy cat over here is Yoongi."
"Thank you, I'm Y/N L/N." They've exchanged the handshake.
"How's everything? It had to be a big change." Yoongi asked looking at the mansion.
"It was a surprise, but I'm trying to catch up with everything here, it's so new and actually quite interesting."
"We are renting cozy cabinet in the woods so it's different." Hoseok admitted and smiled. "Here there are homemade cookies, I hope you'll like them." He said and showed chococlate sweets.
"Oh thank you, but I'm afraid it's too much."
On the sheet were at least twenty. Simple with pieces of chocolate. He handed them over to her and smile has never left his face.
"If you are going to need something we can help. Living alone in such mansion as a woman can be overwhelming. Also it's age doesn't help." Yoongi offered generously.
"Once again thank you, but I'm doing fine for now. Also another residents offered me help, it's so nice. I'm not alone, I just found a stray cat and things are going all right I guess." Y/N smiled nervously.
Couple exchanged soft looks and Yoongi nodded. They seem so different, she could never guess that they were together. They were like sun and moon. The thought strike her a little, she looked at necklace, which was always with her. Men's gaze followed but she failed to notice.
"It's good to have even animal company." Yoongi said and his lips twitched.
"Oh yes, actually your hair's color remind me of Ash fur."
"Oh don't even say thay, Hobi is calling me a cat just enough times." He rolled his eyes and his boyfriend giggled softly.
"It's because you're cat darling. You like to sleep whole day, eat and when eveything is quiet. You also don't really like water."
Y/N smiled at their little bittering. It was so wholesome and calming. "Are you here on holidays?"
"Yes kind of. I'm professional dancer and Yoongi is a music producer." Hoseok explained happily.
"I think, I can imagine how you both met for the first time." She giggled softly.
"Yea, we met at work. Anyway, we just wanted to say hi and see, if you need something. We are going to go. Also be careful, becauae the weather is going to be moody this week."
"Thanks, I hope we can meet maybe in town if you want." She summed up.
They bid their goodbyes and Yoongi left his number in any case. It was so surprising and she was truly touched by all those good people living here and wanting to help her. Usually in those small towns new persons are treating with distance, but she didn't have any of it during talking with mayor or even Namjoon. That was a huge relief actually. Y/N went inside the mansion and left open kitched doors, hanging on chain, if Ash would like to come back. Now when the mansion was slight cleanier, she wanted to look at books, which should be catalogued and maybe try to open the cellars. She went upstairs to also check her laptop and wi-fi tomorrow she wanted to start a work. Her phone ringed with "mayor" name caller, she picked it up immediately.
"Good evening miss L/N. Sorry to interrupt that late."
"Good evening sir. It's okay I wasn't doing anything important."
"I got to know, that government found a specialist, but unfortunately he's abroad. He'll probably be able to show up in the next week if not later." Mayor said with slighty sad tone.
"I'm glad that we are moving with a case. If we cannot speed that it's fine." She said with small smile.
"I will keep you informed miss. Have a good night."
"Goodnight sir."
Her words were a truth, it's good if everything is moving forward even with small steps. After checking the internet connection and setting up her files and noted she went to eat something. Y/N spotted Ash sitting in main hall. Pet just cleaned itself and jumped off the sofa, to greet her. She petted cat's head softly, then going to kitchen. He followed her, but didn't seem hungry, only sipped some water. In that forested area cat could hunt something. She ate the sandwiches then closed all the doors and checked them along with windows. Y/N had Yoongi'a words in mind about the moody weather. After that she headed upstairs to get ready to sleep, cat followed her graciously. The warm shower was all she needed after whole day of cleaning. When she stepped out of the bathroom, Ash was already on the bed stretching. It's when loud bang came to their ears, cat almost jumped at the spot, when Y/N frowned and looked at the closed doors. She put on bathrobe, too a flashlight and phone into a pocket. It needed to be checked. Woman took a deep breath and stepped out of her room turning on light, which also switched up down below. It was the dim one, she didn't want to turn on proper ones. The mansion was drowning in silence, the noise earlier was loke something metal falling on the floor. Ash once again followed her with silent steps and looking down below. Y/N slowly went down by the stairs looking around but everything seemed normal. She wasn't going to yell 'is someone there?' like in those cheap horrors, it was sure that all doors and windows were closed. She was only in kitchen before so they went there. Behind the shadows were shifting and dancing, but one cat's gaze was enough to calm them. In the kitchen was clear what happend. Some bowls fell off from the cabinet without doors and it caused the whole noise. Y/N frowned she didn't even touched those during making supper. She sighed and put them on their place.
"The false alarm." She smiled to Ash and went back with him to her room.
The lonely lamp inside was left turned on in any case. Cat curled around her feet once again after staring intensly into dark places in the room. The night was calm and silent.

Hey folks n blokes! A few days ago ya might've been one of the people who helpfully responded to my question asking which LotR recipe we should cook next, and you all had great ideas. Including a golum salmonella sushi platter. There were a few that twinkled directly into my eyes, but only one fish gets fried at a time! Thanks @vensre for the suggestion!
Today from Lord of the Rings, we will be making Bilbo Baggin's Seed Cakes
(As always you can find the cooking instructions and full ingredient list under the break-)
MY NAMES CROSS NOW LETS COOK LIKE ANIMALS
SO, “what goes in to a Seed Cake?” YOU MIGHT ASKIf you're an amer*can like me, you might have never heard of a seed cake outside of the context of bird feeders.
Salted butter
Fine sugar
Whole milk
Eggs
Almond flour
Vanilla extract
Brown sugar
Caraway/fennel seeds
Ground anise seed
Ground nutmeg
The real key ingredient here is the caraway seeds. The factor that ties all recipes together. Important note, anise seeds and anise stars are 2 separate things!
AND, “what does a Seed Cake taste like?” YOU MIGHT ASKTastes like what an old bookstore smells like.
Smells like warm licorice
But without the chemical-y aftertaste
Take a shortbread and make it denser and with less airpockets. Thats your texture.
A little bit like gingerbread but nuttier, earthier
Very rich
Beautiful crumbly brown outside, soft teddybear-brown inside
Pairs well with a glass of milk hahaha
"A wonderful blend of sweet and savoury, seed cakes make a perfect after-supper morsel."-LotR Online. Mentioned both in the books and the MMO, being served after dinner ties into their real-life origins! Before caraway seeds in cakes became popular in the victorian era, they were often candied and served as dessert because caraway seeds help with after-meal indigestion.
. used an herb grinder for the anise seeds . used light brown sugar where brown sugar called for . used blanched almond flour . if i made this again, would probably use higher quantity of nutmeg or add cinammon
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From entering the kitchen, to having this in my stomach, it took roughly 2 hours? Ish? Definitely make sure to let your 2 sticks of butter and 3 eggs sit out a bit beforehand so they reach room temp, it helps them whip together the warmer they are.
The most difficult part of this recipe was finding the seeds. Everything except the caraway/fennel and anise seed i already had, and maybe its a recent thing but since when did grocery stores start charging such an obscene amount for a regular bottle of spices? Is it not enough to have everything else infected by price-gouging, now we'll be scraping pennies for our little flavor heavens? Bleh.
The seed cake is a new experience for me also, and many pardons if some sacred seed cake rule has been broken today. It tasted fantastic! The licorice was a strong flavor I've never experienced in this form before, it suits itself well. If you're baking for children or have a sweeter palette, the bitterness may be a bit much, but just have them dunk it in milk honestly. It did feel like there was some 'empty space' on my palette while eating- if that makes any sense? It couldve been layered with another flavor but i still can't put my finger on what that missing flavor could be.
Definitely be careful to put the eggs into the butter/sugar a little bit at a time. I got impatient the first-go, and the eggs incorporated less, and it led to a greasier cake. People seem to say that storing these and eating them the next day makes them taste better, i cannot attest as i ate both within the same day of making them.
This recipe has earned itself a glimmering 7/10, for making my kitchen smell nice but also making me use a standmixer if i want my arms to stay attached (with 1 being food that makes one physically sick and 10 being food that gives one a lust for life again.)
🐁 ORIGINAL RESIPPY TEXT BELOW 🐁
Ingredients:
220g salted butter
225g fine sugar
16g of milk
3 eggs
175g almond flour
2 drops vanilla extract
Pinch of brown sugar
1tbsp caraway seeds
1 1/2tbsp  ground anise seed
1/2tsp ground nutmeg
Method:
Pre-heat the oven to 320F. Soften the butter and let eggs come to room temperature.
Cream the butter by itself for around 5 minutes with a standmixer on med., until light in color. Add sugar and continue until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
In a seperate bowl beat the eggs until 'frothy'.
Stir a small amount at a time of the eggs iinto the butter and sugar mixture, making sure each portion incorporates as you go.
Add the caraway, ground anise seed, ground nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
Gently fold in the almond flour. Careful not to overmix.
Add a tablespoon of milk, or until the batter keeps its form but drips off an upside down spoon.
Pour into a greased 9-inch round cake pan, if not available muffin/cupcake pans should also work.
Sprinkle a bit of brown sugar on top.
Bake for 40-50 minutes. Cool for 10 before serving.

Happy birthday Zhongli! May you enjoy the year of the dragon with your hubby 💕
Established relationship, fluff, (one sided) tickle fights, lots of flirting
“You know, it’s your birthday. We didn’t have to come all the way out here.”
“It is precisely because it is my birthday that I’d like to spend it with the family of the one I love.”
Zhongli chuckles as Ajax’s mouth flaps open and shut, a fish out of water. He’s not the only one to take amusement in the action— Ajax’s siblings giggle at him as well, and his mother partakes in a shared glance of fond amusement. Despite being a guest at this household, they’ve already taken to him with familial warmth.
Then again, perhaps that’s how most families are when their child brings home a lover.
Zhongli takes his time through his birthday dinner, though it is not a particularly luxurious meal. In comparison to the exorbitantly priced dinners at Liuli Pavilion he’d taken Hu Tao to in the past, the rather plainly plated, mildly seasoned platters Ajax’s family had set out before him are simple. Yet there is warmth beneath the spices: time, set out in the early dawn for a father and third eldest son to catch fish together, an evening of marinating lamb with rambunctious children, a night time’s worth of lullabies and whispered promises as the sweet scent of cinnamon and jam wafted from the oven. It is simpler food, yes, prepared by amateur hands that have never studied in crowded kitchens and before renowned chefs.
But it tastes of home, inviting and kind; for that Zhongli swears it is one of the loveliest meals he’s ever had in his life.
“I’m surprised you ate everything,” Ajax tells him well after the plates have been collected and their hands have grown wrinkled from washing. Most of his family has retreated, his mother to retire their youngest and the elder siblings departing to give the couple privacy. Even his father, who Ajax had described their relationship as tenacious at best, had given Zhongli a warm hug in celebration of his birthday. “I thought you hated seafood.”
Zhongli grimaces. Ajax laughs, a delightful ring of joy, and his grimace melts into a smile. “I… harbor a dislike for it, yes. But it is not as though I cannot consume it—and your mother spent so long preparing it, wouldn’t it be rude to leave it uneaten?”
“You say that, but you leave my seafood meals uneaten all the time.”
“I was only saving them for someone who would enjoy them more. Who would I be to deny my lover his favorite meal?”
“You’d be a great con artist, you know that? Slippery bastard.”
Ajax dramatically huffs and Zhongli smiles as he opens his hands in clear invitation. The false anger only lasts a moment before Ajax relents, rolling his eyes, and slides into Zhongli’s hug. “You can’t just offer people hugs every time they point out your flaws.”
“Why not? It’s seemed to have worked awfully well for me so far.”
“Oh? Are you hugging anyone other than your fiancé?”
Zhongli’s cheeks warm despite himself, and this time Ajax is the one to squeeze him with a grin. “You shouldn’t be too mean to your fi-an-cé, you know? Or who knows, I’d bring someone else home…”
“Ajax, I hate to inform you of this, but you have few friends. Fewer who would travel to Snezhnaya.”
“What—hey! I could totally invite the traveler!”
“Ah, so my competition is only one after all.”
The punch against his arm is little more than a playful gesture; Zhongli chuckles as Ajax attempts to wriggle out from his hug. “I jest, I promise. Please don’t go: It would be too cruel to leave your fiancé on his birthday, wouldn’t it?”
“It’s not even your actual birthday!” Correct. Even so, Ajax relents in his escape efforts, sagging against him. The sudden increase in weight means little to an Archon, but it is the trust beneath the shift that has Zhongli faltering, heart loud. “Just you wait, I’ll figure out your real birthday eventually.”
“We’d already told your family today is my birthday. Adding another day would make little sense.”
“You think they care? The more birthdays to celebrate, the better.”
“In that case, why not celebrate everyday?”
“Okay, not that many. It’s like…” Ajax trails off, humming in thought. Zhongli soaks in his concentration with affection, leaning his head against Ajax’s shoulder as he waits. It’s not often he’s allowed to witness the more calculative side of his fiancé despite the many years they’ve now spent together, largely due to the fact that Ajax insists on keeping his work and personal life separate. At home, he can relax and leave most of the decisions to Zhongli: a decision made from both their preferences and comfort.
Still, he savors moments like this, where Ajax is deep in thought. Calm, peaceful, and in the arms of the person he’s come to love the most in the world. Free to do little more than stare at the face of his beloved and take in all the features he so little has time to appreciate.
“… it’s hard to think when you’re staring so hard at me.”
“Forgive me, but between the snow and my love, I’d much prefer looking at my love.”
“You’re just—“ Ajax’s complaint fizzles as soon as it begins, eyes full of fond exasperation. It’s an expression Zhongli would have never thought he’d be the culprit of as Liyue’s Archon, and yet, he’s come to treasure every glance Ajax sends his way. “Does Xiao know you’re actually a little shit? Because I think he should know that.”
“I’ve done nothing to be referred to in such a way.”
“And a liar. You know, in Snezhnaya we used to lock people up for that.”
Impossible. Such a law would be much more suited to Fontaine than Snezhnaya, where falsities and secrets are deeply intertwined with the intricacies of romance. Yet Zhongli hums rather than correct.
“I’ve not lied at all today. Do I lack so terribly in expressing my love for you ordinarily that you think my truthful confessions are lies? Would you rather I kiss you every morning as you set off to work, and take you every night loud enough that there will be no doubt of our—“
“OKAY! Okay, okay, shut up, I get it!” Ajax’s cheeks flame as he interrupts, a warmth that creeps from his neck to his ears. Zhongli laughs, bubbling mirth escaping him, while Ajax pinches his cheeks. “Why do I feel like you’ve been laughing at me all day?”
“I’ve little idea of this accusation.”
“You’re laughing at me right now.” Is he? Zhongli raises a hand to his face, failing to hide his still wide grin of amusement. Ajax’s eyes narrow. “Stop that.”
“I’ve hardly done anything.”
“Really? You want to play this game?”
“Game?” Zhongli huffs, transferring his hand from his face to Ajax’s cheek, patting it playfully. “Is that how you refer to spending time with me?”
“Oh, you’re just asking for it.”
“Asking for what?”
Admittedly, he was probably “pushing it” as Ajax would say, but Zhongli would like to contest that claim with the very cute evidence of Ajax’s slightly irritated gaze sent his way. He could hardly help it!
Though, Ajax wouldn’t accept such reasoning. If anything, the sudden mischief sparking in his eyes…
“Asking for this!”
“A-Ajax! W-waihahaaht!” Zhongli startles with a giggle at the sudden move of fingers against his waist, squirming at the ticklish sensation. Ajax grins down on him as his hands skate along his torso, teasing.
“Wait? You sure didn’t wait to tease me, why should I wait for you?”
“I wasn’t! Ehehe, I was telling thehehe! Ahaha, pause!”
“Excuses, excuses!”
If he weren’t so distracted, Zhongli would scold Ajax for interrupting another in the midst of their sentence. Unfortunately, he’s rather busy with trying to grapple at Ajax’s wandering fingers along his sides, sweeping up to poke at the divots between his ribs. Curses his perfectionism while crafting this human form—he could have simply left out the ribs, couldn’t he?
But he hadn’t evidently and now, he had to suffer the consequences.
Zhongli shakes his head as he laughs, successfully grabbing one of Ajax’s wrists only to lose it a moment later when the other hand jumps into his armpit. His giggles rise in volume and pitch, an unruly mess of jumbled syllables; his cheeks redden at his own laughter as he protests.
“A-Ajahahahaax! No, hehehe, it–it’s rude!”
It’s of little use. Ajax’s fingers continue to wander, prodding all of Zhongli’s weak spots, pressing ever closer even though there’s no space left between their bodies. When Ajax’s hair brushes his nape, he squeaks.
“Rude? You’re calling me rude?”
“Nohohoho! This-I-I—not there!”
Zhongli’s words dissolve into embarrassing noises as Ajax’s hands roam downwards to his hips. The actual act of tickling and of being tickled by his lover isn’t something he particularly dislikes: the familiar exploration of Ajax’s hands and the almost determined, grinning face that peers down upon him, if anything, warms his heart. But it is the principle of the matter—that he is a guest at Ajax’s home, generously welcomed as his lover, and rather than setting the family peacefully to sleep he is instead laughing his head off at the hands of the man he is meant to trust the most, at a surely obscene time of the night.
Succinctly put, it’s incredibly rude to be so loud in someone else’s home. Even more so when his laughter echoes in his own ears, wild and desperate at the way Ajax knowingly digs his thumbs in little circles at the center of his hips.
“Naa—AhahaHAHAHAJAHAHAX!”
“That’s my name, don’t wear it out.”
It’s too much, not enough, the feeling of his lover’s hands mapping out familiar patterns along his body; Zhongli’s heart thrums in his chest, both hungry for more and aching for a rest. His fingers grapple with Ajax’s, pulling at the bullying hands prying desperate giggles from his throat, but they only dig in deeper with every attempt. “EnouGHAHAHAHAA! STAHAHhahahap!”
“Wellll, I don’t know, should I stop~”
“YeheHEHEHEHEHES! NOHOHO MOOHEHEHEHRE!” Laughter leaves him dizzy when the hands crawl downwards teasingly, pinching his hips and then his inner thighs as he squirms; mercy comes at last when his legs give out beneath him, sending them both to the ground. They don’t crash, luckily, Ajax’s arms crossing around his chest protectively and landing them comfortably on the carpet instead. The contact is still enough to have him giggling, shoulders twisting inwards to protect himself from further tickling.
“Waiahait… Ehehe, stahahap!”
“I’m not even tickling you anymore!” Ajax’s hands rise from his torso to his shoulders, tugging Zhongli back until he’s leaning against his chest, Ajax’s knees rising up to form a protective barrier around his own. Blue eyes enter his tired vision, a hand cradling his cheek as Ajax furrows his brows. “You okay?”
He chuckles again, this time quiet and of his own volition. Ajax’s gaze softens, sweet, and he silently thanks the fact that his thrumming heart could be associated with the tickling attack and not the fervent urge to pull the other down into a kiss. “Ahahaha… Rather odd words from the person who’d chosen to render me in such a state.”
“Hey, this was much needed vengeance after what you’ve put me through today!”
“Was it?” One would think that he’d have learned after Ajax’s “vengeance” about prodding a sleeping narwhal for fun, but Zhongli had been honest when he said his teasing only came from sincere adoration. He leans into Ajax’s palm, nuzzling it before pressing a kiss against the bare wrist and smiling as Ajax’s eyes follow the motion. “Is that all the vengeance you wished to enact on me?”
Ajax swallows. His mouth parts, tongue swiping his bottom lip and leaving it glossy. “Well, I—”
“Do you two have any idea what time it is?!”
Ah. Right. They’re still in Ajax’s parent’s house.
“M-mama! I wasn’t—we weren’t—um, well…!” Zhongli blinks upwards as Ajax all but whole-body flinches away, mouth sputtering as Ajax’s mother stares down at them. Her kind smile at the dinner table remains fixed, but her eyes are…
Even an archon has things they know to fear. Celestia, Descenders, mother-in-laws, to name a few.
“Save it,” she sighs, pinching her nose in exasperation before moving her gaze to Zhongli. “Take him to bed, will you?”
“Wha—hey, he’s the guest!”
“And who was causing all that ruckus?”
Both of them, technically, but it’s clear the madame of the house (understandably) has little patience left for any antics. Ajax bites his cheek as Zhongli chuckles; he rises to his feet, steady now after resting in Ajax’s arms, and pulls the pouting ginger up with him. “My sincere apologies for the ruckus. We’ll be in bed shortly, I promise.”
“I’d hope so,” she says, her gaze returning to Ajax. They stare at each other a moment, her eyes shiny, before she nods. “Good night, you two. And,” her eyes return to him. “Happy birthday, Zhongli. I hope we can celebrate it again next year.”
Next year. He returns her kind smile, squeezing Ajax’s hands. “I’ll be sure to return.”
He waits for her footsteps to recede before Zhongli turns to Ajax, triumph flashing in his gaze. “It appears that I’ve left a successful impressi—hm!”
Ajax’s lips leave him far too quickly only to return again, persistent, hands pulling him into another. They’re quick kisses, breathless and giddy, filling each other’s spaces only long enough to leave them longing for more. He chases after Ajax, maybe, or it’s Ajax who chases after him. They meet in the middle regardless and Zhongli smiles into the kisses that follow.
Perhaps Ajax had a point about the second birthday. He’s already looking forward to the next.

i will be real with you the entire time i was writing this i had absolutely no idea what id already written
[very mild stuffing, mostly just two old fruits eating dinner & cuddling & bein mushy]
Leon slipped his arms around Shel's narrow waist from behind while he cooked, propping his chin against his shoulder. Gently, he snuck his hands under Shel's shirt and rested them on his belly. Shel was a thin person; there was no denying that. Where there had once been hip bones sharply jutting out, though, Leon found only the soft swell of his lower belly. He held his hands there for a moment, taking in the warmth of that soft curve, then gave it a gentle squeeze. Shel smiled and craned his neck around to nuzzle his cheek against Leon's forehead.
Shel had been nothing short of scrawny for just about his entire life. It was only once he started spending time with Leon that he began to soften up a little; perhaps trying to get his dysfunctional sweetheart to eat better was rubbing off on him as well. The two spent many an evening enjoying a hearty home-cooked meal together, just as they were planning to do tonight.
Leon was reluctant to take his hands off of Shel's lovely little tummy, but the dirty cutting board was calling him. He leaned up to kiss him on the cheek before retreating to the sink. Shel remained at the stove, stirring the sizzling vegetables around in the pan. The kitchen smelled wonderful. They had salmon in the oven, drizzled with a glaze of dijon mustard and maple syrup, and cooking on the stove was a colorful medley of squash, asparagus, and broccoli. Leon's belly rumbled, and Shel smiled. He turned away from the stove--the vegetables needed a chance to brown anyhow--and pulled Leon into his arms, nuzzling his face deep into the crook of his neck.
"Shelly!" Leon jerked at the sudden tickling sensation, laughing. Shel hugged him tightly.
"I just like cookin' with you is all," Shel mumbled into his neck. "You're my perfect helper."
"Oh yeah? What are the qualifications?"
"Cute, for starters," said Shel, lifting his head to kiss Leon's cheek. "Sweet. Funny. Uh, warm." He slipped his hands under Leon's shirt to press them into his warm belly, and he gasped at the cold touch. There was little Shel adored more than Leon's plush, pillowy tummy, save for his cats and Leon himself. It was delightfully plump, poking out adorably over the top of his pajama pants, and the squishy little pooch under his belly button fit perfectly in Shel's bony hands. Leon didn't share quite the same appreciation for it, but if Shel loved it so much, he supposed it couldn't be bad.
At long last, dinner was ready, and the two decided to forgo the table and snuggle up together on the couch with their plates. It was a chilly, rainy evening outside, but Shel's cozy living room was warm, and the gentle patter of the rain against the windows was pleasant. Leon's belly rumbled again as they got themselves situated. Shel gave it an affectionate pat, unable to hold back an amused grin.
"Hey, you had lunch today, didn't you?"
"Huh? Um, I think so. Probably?" Leon ran through the long, busy work day in his mind. Shel rolled his eyes.
"Eat your fish, you goofball," he said, smiling fondly. Leon didn't need to be told twice. He gladly obliged, and Shel gladly joined him. Everything had come out perfect. The fish was flaky and flavorful, and the vegetables were tender but still just crisp enough. Leon's empty stomach welcomed the first delicious bites with open arms.
"I don't know if I'm gonna be able to eat this whole thing," remarked Shel, and Leon chuckled.
"Have you ever eaten a whole anything?"
"I ate a whole pea once," said Shel. "Skin and all." Leon laughed out loud, covering his mouth in an attempt to keep himself from dribbling half-chewed squash all over the place, and Shel grinned down at him.
As it turned out, Shel was right. He had the stomach capacity of a stray chihuahua, and, despite a valiant effort, the big hunk of fish proved to be just a bit too much. He set the plate on the coffee table, covering it with a napkin to keep the cats out of his leftovers, and settled himself against Leon's lap, resting his hands on his full tummy.
"Full already?"
"Stuffed." Even not having cleaned his plate, Shel had pushed himself just a smidge too far, his stomach teetering just on the edge of discomfort. His tummy poked out ever so slightly under his soft pajama shirt, and Leon gave it a gentle pat.
"Boy, I'll say," he said, surprised at how firm his belly felt. He supposed it couldn't have felt too bad, though; that pinched pout of discomfort he was all too familiar with was nowhere to be seen on Shel's pretty face, only a content, sleepy little smile. Leon gazed down at him a moment, utterly gripped by his beauty--his delicate features, the crinkles of the smile in his eyes, the sea of silver waves that was his hair.
"Leon, eat your dinner," said Shel, both amused and touched by the look of adoration on Leon's face. It wasn't a look he'd ever imagined anybody might direct toward him, but it was one he was almost growing used to now--used to, but certainly not tired of.
"You're very distracting, you know," said Leon, tenderly brushing one of Shel's remaining mousy brown hairs out of his face before picking up his fork again. Shel smiled innocently at him, batting his eyelashes sweetly. Leon rolled his eyes and took another bite of salmon. He was beginning to feel full himself, although not quite full enough to slow down; each bite was still just as irresistible as the last. He didn't start slowing down until he was nearly finished, his belly growing snug against his shirt.
While he only had a few bites left on his plate, Leon's stomach had finally begun to catch up with him, and those last few bites were beginning to seem like a lot. He paused for a moment, letting out a little sigh. His belly gurgled softly as its contents settled, and he brought a hand to his mouth to stifle a quiet burp. Shel gazed up at him adoringly from his lap, appreciating the mundane sweetness of his movements and the way the glow of the light filtering through his thick, dark hair from above made him look like an angel. It wasn't an angle he often saw Leon from, being taller than him. Leon glanced down suddenly, finally noticing Shel's stare.
"Hey, good-lookin'," said Shel with a suave smile, and then he broke into laughter at the cheesy line. Somebody at work had once said that Shel's laugh sounded like an old man being smothered to death, but as far as Leon was concerned, it was the most beautiful sound in the world. He grinned down at him and ruffled his hair.
"Hey! I just brushed that," Shel exclaimed, grabbing at Leon's hand.
"You're gonna make me drop broccoli all over your head!"
"I'll just pick it off and feed it to you," teased Shel, reaching up and plucking a piece of broccoli from Leon's plate. "Finish your dinner already so we can get to foolin' around." Leon laughed, and Shel fed him the broccoli, then licked off his fingers.
Slowly but surely, Leon finished off the last few bites of his dinner, his belly feeling snug and tight as he pushed it just over the edge of stuffed. It had rounded out nicely against his shirt, not alarmingly distended but undeniably and visibly full. He set his plate down beside Shel's on the table and leaned back with a sigh. Another little burp bubbled up and escaped, and he rested a hand atop his belly.
"Man, that was a big hunk of fish," he said, rubbing at the taut bulge of his stomach.
"Wasn't it? And you were makin' fun of me," teased Shel.
"I still ate the whole thing, though," said Leon.
"I guess so," agreed Shel. He lifted Leon's shirt up just enough to expose his belly button, then leaned his head in to plant a kiss on his tummy. Leon blushed brightly. With an adoring look in his eyes, Shel sat his hands on Leon's sides, idly rubbing the soft skin of his belly with one thumb. Slowly and deliberately, he placed another kiss, letting his lips linger against the warm surface for an extra moment. Then, he snuggled up against Leon, wrapping his arms loosely around his waist and resting his cheek against his tummy.
He remained there while Leon gently stroked his hair, listening to the soft gurgles of his belly as it worked away at the big dinner. As big as it had been, neither of them felt uncomfortably full, although it wouldn't have taken much more to get them there. Leon rested his other hand on Shel's tummy, enamored with the way it bulged just barely noticeably under his shirt. This was all that "foolin' around" would consist of tonight; they both were full and sleepy and perfectly content to simply stay there and hold each other.

Part 3! LFT We have some jelly zoro with us today. Not sure abut how I worte Nami and Ussop any feedback is welcome
Zoro watched as Sanji flitted about, graceful in his movements as he plated everyone's dinners. Luffy was already inhaling the leg of lamb beside him. A large plate of sliced bread with a bowl in the middle was placed in the center of the table and soon came the bowls brimming with seafood, muscles, clams, shrimp and fish in a reddish orange broth. A second bowl of plain white rice was placed in front of him. Zoro hides a smirk, looks like someone had time to read this past hour.
"Dessert is in the oven rising, it will be out shortly so please no yelling," Curly brows shot him a pointed look before his cheeks turned red and he had to hide his face. "What can I get everyone to drink?"
"Wine would be lovely," Nami said with a smile, that witch would use anyone until they had nothing left to give.
"Of course Nami-swan! I'll fetch it right away! The love sick fool gushed, Zoro swore he saw hearts in his eyes.
"Sake," He ordered gruffly scowling. "Or is that too much for you to handle," Zoro didn't like the fact that the man he had in lap just an hour ago, the man who made such erotic noises would pay so much attention to some else and a woman at that.
"Burte you're lucky I have soufflés in the oven," The blond turned his attention back to where it belonged, the marks Zoro had left on his pale skin still there.
Zoro couldn't resist the smirk that graced his face. He shouldn't be jealous of Nami. They weren't in a relationship, not even a sexual one…well not yet anyway. But that would be fixed tonight, Zoro needed more of the man in front of him.
"A nice dry white wine pairs best with the Bouillabaisse," Cook placed a glass of wine in front of Nami before serving Usopp and Luffy saving him for last. "Here's your sake marimo," Sanji held out a bottle of sake for him to take.
"Finally," Zoro deliberately brushed his fingers against Sanjis causing him to blush. He was easy to tease when he was like this, tonight was going to be fun.
After everyone ate their fill, the food had been as good as had tasted when he had kissed the cook earlier, Sanji went back to the oven. Zoro sat back and enjoyed the view, those fancy pants of his hugged every inch and curve of the cook's shapely ass and thick muscular thighs.
"Oi cook can you crush a watermelon with those thighs," Zoro had to know, he was certain he could.
"What!" He shot up the pan in his hands tilting dangerously. "Why would you ask that!" Zoro could see the back of the blonde's neck and the tips of his ears were bright red and waited to see how red and flushed his face was.
"Oooo!! That would be so cool!" Luffy of course was all for it, for very different reasons of course.
"Is that even possible?" Name asked.
"It would be a waste of food and I will not be wasting any food!" The cook spoke his voice raising in pitch, almost yelling as he turned around his face red as Zoro had hoped. I'm his arms was a tray with three brown fluffy desserts and one yellow one. He placed the brown ones in front of the others and the yellow in front of him.
"Aww why does Zoro get a yellow one?" Luffy whined.
"Because he doesn't like chocolate," His shoulders were relaxed, clearly thinking the watermelon conversation was over.
"Why can't you just put a bowl under the watermelon?" Zoro asked, digging into the fluffy food in front of him before taking a bite, it was more salty and savory rather than sweet.
"He's got a point, Sanji, unless you're afraid of failing? I mean not everyone can be as strong as the great captain Ussop!" Ussop attempted to flex with his tiny arms, he could use a good work out. Zoro would lend him some weights if he wanted.
"Please Sanji?" Nami only had to bat her eyes and the dam cook folded.
"Anything for you!"
"Yah hooo!" Luffy cheered in-between shoveling bites of food.
Zoro had gotten the outcome he wanted, but it still left a bad taste in his mouth. It annoyed him how much it bothered him that Nami had such sway over the cook.

Car Taste Test
(Gracie Abrams x Reader)
——————————————————————————
"Hey guys! Today we have my wife, Gracie Abrams joining us!" Y/n speaks to her camera as she sits in the passenger seat of her girlfriend's car.
"Not wife yet. Soon though" Gracie replies, parking the car in the parking lot of the restaurant.
"Yeah? How soon?" Y/n asks, giggling as she leans closer to her girlfriend.
"Very soon" Gracie quickly pecks her lips before pulling away, thanking the fast food worker that brings them their food before the worker walks away.
"Alright. So. We're just doing a little vlog today and there's a new restaurant that we wanted to try. So that's where we are right now" Y/n says as she watches Gracie did through the bag of food that was handed to her.
"Do you wanna try the chicken, beef or fish first?" Gracie asks her girlfriend as she pulls out the food.
"You choose first and I'll try after you. Gracie's my taste tester if you guys didn't know. If I haven't tried something, Gracie tells me if it's good or not" Y/n tells the camera before she feels her girlfriend arm wrap around her shoulder, pulling her closer.
"That's because you're such a picky eater" Gracie replies, kissing her girlfriend's cheek.
"You know, when she first had dinner with my family, they didn't know she didn't like corn and Y/n didn't wanna be rude so she ate the entire plate. Then she spent the whole car ride home trying not to throw up" Gracie tells the story as Y/n groans.
"Your parents are so nice! I didn't wanna make a bad first impression. And they're such good cooks.. you know, apart from the corn" Y/n scrunches her face up at the thought of the vegetable as Gracie takes a fork full of the chicken.
"Okay, this is really fucking good. Come here babe" Gracie tells her girlfriend as she puts more chicken on the fork and puts it in Y/n's mouth, watching as Y/n moans at the taste.
"Alright, you gotta edit that part out. That sounds for my ears only" Gracie tells her girlfriend with a smile, half joking.
"Come here" Y/n replies, pulling her girlfriend closer to her before putting her mouth against her ear, letting out a soft, quiet moan of Gracie's name.
"Babe! The cameras on!" Gracie exclaims as she laughs with a blush on her face. Y/n laughs in reply as she picks up the ice cream that they ordered.
"Oh, so you'll try the ice cream but not the actual food?" Gracie asks with a grin.
"Yeah, you want some?" Y/n asks, eating a spoonful before putting another one in front of her girlfriend's lips, watching as she eats the ice cream off the spoon.
"Babe, you should cut your hair" Y/n tells her girlfriend suddenly as Gracie looks at her confused.
"Where did that come from? I thought you liked my hair"
"I do! But you would look so cute with short hair. Like shoulder length" Y/n replies, moving her hand to play with her girlfriend's hair.
"I thought I was already cute?" Gracie asks, putting on an adorable pout.
"You are! You're so fucking adorable!" Y/n replies, squishing her girlfriend's cheeks and pressing a soft kiss against her lips.
"You do realise we're giving the fans months worth of content, right?" Gracie asks pulling her girlfriend closer.
"Yeah, but it's fine. They deserve it" Y/n replies, placing another kiss on Gracie's lips.
"Oh wait! We need to get Weenie more treats!" Y/n remembers, telling her girlfriend to drive to the pet store.
"Also, I know I said that food was good but it was actually kinda shit. We need to go somewhere else" Y/n continues as she stares at the road.
"Yeah, I was gonna say that" Gracie agrees.
"You said it was good!"
"Yeah, if I said it was bad then you wouldn't have tried it. I'm helping you try more things" Gracie replies.
"Aww, you're so cute! I love you so fucking much!" Gracie parks the car outside the pet store before stepping out the car.
"Do you wanna wait in the car?"
"Yeah, you won't be long, right?" Y/n replies.
"I'll just be a few minutes" Gracie says before walking inside the pet store.
"Alright, I guess while Gracie's gone, I'll answer some of the comments from the last video" Y/n tells the camera as she picks up her phone and goes to her comment section.
"How did you and Gracie meet? We met when I was in college. I was in the same class as Audrey, if you guys don't know, Audrey is Gracie's best friend. Audrey invited me over because she thought Gracie and I would get along. And look at us now!" Y/n giggles before moving onto another question.
"Is Gracie actually good at baking? Guys, she is so fucking amazing, she could actually sell them at bakeries. The first time I had one of her cakes was when she made one for me on our first anniversary. And she made my favourite and I didn't think she would remember what it was because I only mentioned it once like a month into our relationship" Y/n gushes only to stop when the car door opens.
"Alright, where do you wanna eat?" Gracie asks, turning on the car.
"I dunno, where do you wanna go?"
"Please not this again. We do this every time!" Gracie replies with a laugh.
"Fine! I want ramen" Y/n says as she watches her girlfriend begin to drive to the noodle shop. When they arrive, Gracie goes in to order while Y/n waits in the car. Gracie sits back in her seat, taking Y/n's noodles out and handing it to her.
"You wanna try some?" Gracie asks, holding her fork with her own noodles on it up to her girlfriend's mouth, causing Y/n to put them in her mouth.
"Wait babe, come here, you got something on your mouth" Gracie tells her as Y/n comes closer to her, watching as Gracie goes to wipe her lip only to connect their lips instead, causing Y/n to giggle into the kiss.

Fishing
Needed to write about our fish boi so here ya goooooo, a short little fic
Tumblr media
You worked the early shift this morning, so it was only noon when you got home. Stepping into the door, you kicked off your shoes with a sigh.
Throwing your purse nearby, you yelled, “Nick, baby. Where are you?” You made your way into the kitchen to look around for your boyfriend.
“I’m in the bedroom,” Nick shouted. You changed course and headed straight to the bedroom. Finding Nick lying tightly under the covers, you sit on his side of the bed. You brushed his hair out of his face and placed a kiss on his forehead.
“What are you still doing in bed?” you questioned as your hand ran through his dark locks.
“I just feel sad today,” he confessed.
You frowned, “I’m sorry, love,” you paused for a second to think, “Have you eaten?” Nick shook his head.
“Hm, why don’t we go out and get some burgers, and then we can go fishing? Does that sound okay? Or would you rather stay in?” you suggested as he reached for your hand with his.
“You want to go fishing with me?” Nick asked as his face lit up. You hardly go fishing with him. This time, however, you want to cheer him up by doing something he likes to do.
“Of course I do,” you replied, “If it’ll make you happy, I’ll gladly go fishing with you.” Nick sat in bed, letting the covers fall, and brought you into a bone-crushing hug.
“I love you,” he whispered into your ear.
“I love you more,” you whispered back before pressing a kiss to his neck.
At the restaurant, you and Nick ate some burgers and talked about your day, about the band, and anything in between.
“Where should we go fishing?” you wondered as you both walked hand in hand back to the car.
Nick helped you into the passenger seat and said, “Oh, I know a spot,” and shut the door before taking his seat.
He drove you to his “secret spot” that “no one knows about”. You both got out of the car and grabbed the fishing poles. He helped you bait the hooks so the fish would be drawn to it. Then you walked to the edge of the water.
“Babe, I don’t think I remember how to fish,” you lied so he’d help you.
“Okay, I can show you how,” he replied as he put his fishing pole down and walked behind you. He put his hands on top of yours and showed you how to swing the pole and reel it back in. Nick talked you through every little detail. When he was done, he kissed your cheek and had you try for yourself. With his hands on his hips, he watched you swing the pole and let the hook fly into the water.
“Baby, look at you! You’re a natural,” Nick praised as he grabbed his fishing pole and stood next to you. He followed your actions and then the both of you fell into a comfortable silence.
After a while of not catching anything and being patient, Nick muttered, “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” you smiled as you both looked at each other. Nick leaned over and kissed you sweetly. The kiss deepened and your hand reached out and grabbed his. Before anything got heavy, your pole jerked.
You broke the kiss, “Oh my god! I caught something!”
“Reel it in!” Nick exclaimed. With all your strength, you reeled a huge fish in; Nick helping of course.
He grabbed the fish by its mouth and his jaw dropped, “Holy shit, babe. You caught a nice one! Should we have fish for dinner? We can catch another one and then we can go home. What do you think?”
“Let’s do that!” you jump with excitement at catching a fish. Nick unhooks the fish and sets it in the cooler he brought. Watching him do his thing while smiling makes your heart warm.
He baits your hook again and you swing it back out. “Seriously, thank you for this. I needed it,” Nick confessed.
“I’d do it again in a heartbeat,” you gushed as you kissed him gently.

Hirano to Kagiura light novel translation 4-4
Chapter 4: Fall.
Part 4
Prev || Next
At long last, tomorrow is the day of the cultural festival.
He’d thought they’d definitely stay late after school to prepare on the eve of the festival, but by rule of the student council, everyone had gone home at the same time today.
It can be said that this policy, which makes no allowances for the classes that were unable to finish their preparations in the time allotted, is typical of a school that values autonomy.
Even the culture clubs’ practices are restricted, and extracurricular activities are also entirely forbidden.
Thanks to that, Kagiura has been on pins and needles. Even though he’d tried to study in his room to suppress his flighty nerves, he can’t make himself focus on English vocabulary at all. Numerical formulas are somehow even more impossible.
Such being the case, he has since been reading a basketball magazine he subscribes to.
“Hey, you like cookies?”
At the sound of Hirano’s voice, Kagiura’s head snaps up.
“Yeah, I like ‘em!”
“Cool. I’ve got some left over that we made in home ec today; you want one?”
As he passes over a cookie, he adds, “I forgot all about them.”
Kagiura would’ve thought it’d just be the round type, but it’s the type of cookie with two colors so you can break it into pieces cleanly. It’s amazing. It looks especially good.
“Sure, I’ll take it!”
Male students’ homemade sweets are even more of a rarity than their homemade cooking.
Kagiura had made drop candy in his elementary school cooking class, which was his one and only experience in the subject.
“It’s all yours. There was one that Sasaki made, that he made look like a cat’s face, kind of like a tuxedo cat? It was super fancy. Should’ve taken a picture.”
“Did you make this one?”
“Yeah. We used the same dough, though.”
“I think yours is beautiful.”
“Huh? …Oh, haha, thanks. I kinda feel like you’re saying that to make me feel better, but I wasn’t trying to fish for compliments.”
“...Can I eat it now?”
It’ll be dinnertime soon.
“Ah…well, it’ll be our little secret. I’ll eat some, too.”
To Kagiura’s surprise, he puts a finger to his lips in the universal shh gesture.
Gguhh, Kagiura chokes on the cookie he’s already put in his mouth.
“What’s wrong?!”
From hanging out together for half a year, he should know that Hirano’s a soft person by nature, but he still can’t get over it.
“Th- the cookie got into my organs…”
“The fuck?!”
He likes him…maybe.
It shouldn’t leave the realm of maybe yet.
“Th- they were so tasty I kinda ate them too fast…”
Hirano bursts out laughing at his attempt to save face.
This guy laughs so much!
“Hahaha…Gotcha, I’m glad then, ahahaha.”
“Jeez, it’s not that funny!”
He covers his face with the open magazine, protesting that he’s already embarrassed enough, but Hirano’s still laughing as he apologizes.
“Damn. You know, if I ever get married, I hope I find someone who wears their heart on their sleeve like you do.”
At that moment, it’s as if time has stopped.
“.......?!”
Kagiura freezes, the basketball magazine falling from his hands.
“Oh, it’s dinnertime. Let’s go.”
Does he not realize what he just said?
No respect for the fact that he’s just taken Kagiura out in one hit.
Still in shock, Kagiura heads out for dinner slightly behind.
*****
On the long-awaited festival day, the skies are so clear it’s almost too hot.
Inside, the school is teeming with people.
As one would expect of the one day when even current students are allowed to wear casual clothes, there’s color everywhere you look.
Kagiura is wearing the original T-shirt his class had ordered.
The orange uniform, printed with the word “yakitori” and a drawing of meat skewers, stands out quite a bit for its simplicity.
Even as he’d listened to his classmates complain that they didn’t know what kind of casual clothes to wear at school, Kagiura had just figured “it’s hot, so a t-shirt is the only way to go”. But on the day of, he sort of understands how they feel.
The school where they spend all their time in uniforms is suddenly awash with all sorts of outfits. Just this fact is enough to make the vibe a little jittery, like they’re cutting loose.
Even Kagiura, who’s used to wearing casual clothes in the dorms, feels that way, so the students who commute from home probably feel even more out of place.
This time last year, Kagiura, whose choices of cram schools hadn’t been few, had not yet decided his future plans. As a result, he didn’t come to last year’s cultural festival, although it had been a perfect day to visit the school.
Everything he’s seeing is new to him, and although he’s been watching it all come together, each new wonder just deepens his excitement.
And of course, all of the food looks delicious.
Before noon, when he goes to visit Hirano’s class, cultural festival pamphlet in hand, Hirano soon appears, dressed in his favorite white T-shirt.
He lets Kagiura decide their itinerary, since “it’s my second year at this”.
They walk past someone holding up a sign that reads “Cheesy yakisoba in the courtyard!!”
He may be a rival in the Courtyard Stall battle, but Kagiura plans to go buy from them later.
The line for the yakitori stand is quite long; it’s grown from the time Kagiura was managing the stall in the morning.
After they get through the line and are handed a cup of yakitori, Kagiura takes them here and there, tugging at Hirano’s arm.
