My favourite scene from Goncharov is the one where he talks with the Russian twins. It's just such a poignant and underrated scene for Goncharov's characterisation (or lack of, in some ways) as a fractured man struggling with his identity. Although they're only side characters, Fyo and Misha really stood out to me because their motivations seem so transparent and emotive. Misha is fueled by such hatred over the collateral death of their sister, Irene, in an earlier instance where Goncharov's men took out her husband, and Fyo is just in a state of resigned despair, because he knows that his twin is also going to die over this vendetta and what else can he do but follow him? Misha is all he has left.
I think that conversing with people with such simple yet strong motivations without all the complexity and double meanings was something quite unique for Goncharov. You can see he looks completely intent on listening to Misha's anger (stunning monologue btw) when he has them captured in the room. But the part that really stood out to me was the end of the scene when Goncharov asks if they know what he's going to do with them and Fyo just scoffs sadly and says that no one ever really knows what men like him are going to do. No one can really understand him or his motivations for doing anything.
And the look on Goncharov's face... I don't think even he knew what he was going to do then. He's such a mess of an identity and motivations at this point in the film and you could tell that he did feel bad for the twins, but they had just tried to assassinate him so...
Anyway, we never really find out what happens to them. Since the scene cuts to Goncharov meeting Aubrey outside and though Aubrey clearly wants to ask, he doesn't. And Goncharov never tells.

YOU & I | an ellie williams fanfic series
this is a fic that will be posted and mostly updated on wattpad @ecstasyhighway this ff is heavily based off of you the netflix show and inspired by a ff on here which i cannot remember who wrote it but if yk lmk so i can give proper credit.

ch 1 ch 2
silly story and more ff info under the cut
Ellie had seen you walking around the music store she worked at... her attention automatically shifted from the customer in front of her to you. Your hair, your curves, your eyes. Everything about you was just...
"hello? did you hear me?" the woman raised her voice slightly to get her attention,
Ellie snapped out of her thoughts and focused on the clearly irritated woman in front of her.
"yea my bad, what was that..?"
The lady rolled her eyes and started asking questions about guitar lessons for her son or daughter or some shit, she wasnt really paying attention to the nonsense floating from her mouth.
"yeah, im not the one you go to about that, uhhh my buddy Jesse is in the back, he can help you"
"thanks" and with that, she headed towards the back, muttering words under her breath.
Ellie's attention quickly turned back towards you. She examines you closely. Watching you grab a vinyl from the shelf, Call Me If You Get Lost, is what you had grabbed. Ellie wants to walk over to you, and talk to you but shes scared. What if she says the wrong thing? What if she freaks you out? What if you think shes a weirdo.. She turns away to stop looking at you, her cheeks are red and shes shaking, she is just so nervous and she's not even planning on talking to you... She puts her face in her hands and begins to calm herself down.
"Hi! hello"
A voice chimes from behind her, she turns around and a lump forms in her throat.
Its... you.

Mordor says He returned only for Visa reasons. They did some math and understood that Sam had been there for almost 90 days, só It was time for a quick walk home.
Dear Visa Anon,
Which Mordor luminary came with this idea? The MENSA-level CRT Clique or Miss Marple, who thinks I know nothing (the Dimwit from Madrid is still learning how to spell, so I can't believe it's her)?
Regardless. These people should immediately stop watching Ninety-Day Fiancé on their cable network, following a severe overdose on Uzbek midgets and Egyptian gigolos 'looking for true love' stories.
Maybe they could also have checked their facts before solemnly stating bullshit, since they clearly think all the visitors to the wonderful U S of A are tourists and as such, entitled to a maximum 90-day stay at a time (and then a short hike to Tijuana or Canada and back on tracks: not EDI/GLA, FFS!).
Incidentally, may I remind these geniuses that S has been spotted only near EDI, which of course would mean for them he'd be getting his visa there. Unless...
Tumblr media
Unless you know the US General Consulate in EDI does not issue any type of visas - LOL, idiots. And unless he'd need to be in LHR for the pre-appointed interview and then another 7 working days delay for processing and 1-3 working days for passport delivery by mail only (never in person, chickadees). Doesn't really click with timelines, Madam Expert.
Because they are all very intelligent, they also forgot everything about/never bothered to look for the new-ish ESTA system (https://www.handyvisas.com/esta-us-visa/british/), especially designed for Visa Waiver countries' citizens. So I insist: if traveling as a tourist, S does not need a visa to enter the US for up to 90 days - that is correct, but by no means applicable to S's reality. And if he knew he'd need to stay more than 90 days, he would have applied for a visa - mandatory - in London before the Summer of Sassenach tour.
But he is not traveling as a tourist and very probably not under another type of non-immigrant visa, simply because he has businesses there and he is also involved in the OL project with *** (d'oh!).
Let's unpack:
As per US current regulations, S cannot apply for a B-1 (business non immigrant visa). To understand why, kindly refer to the US Customs and Border Protection FAQ (https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/documents/B-1%20permissible%20activities.pdf). I already munched it up for you:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He could only apply for a O-1 B immigration visa, for which his agent or employer should mandatorily petition the US Citizenship and Immigration Services. These are special visas designed for the individual who (...) has a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement in the motion picture or television industry and has been recognized nationally or internationally for those achievements. This is very subjective and a contract with * should be enough - I was in a taxi when I received your ask and immediately checked with a friend from the US Consulate, to indulge you. And all this hassle just because a Tumblr Nobody has flatulent opinions, huh?
According to the USCIS's own regulations, not Dutch fantasy or Belfast sagas, the authorized period of stay and possibility of extension are as follows (https://www.uscis.gov/working-in-the-united-states/temporary-workers/o-1-visa-individuals-with-extraordinary-ability-or-achievement):
Tumblr media
The good thing about getting this visa (and I think * sorted it out a long time ago for both of them) is that it helps tremendously with the Green Card procedures, something I bet the farm both S & C already have, by now.
So doing the maths was perfectly inane and useless.
Does that answer your question, clever Anon? Can I go back to the Quaich post I must finish (it will be VERY long, beware) today?
Thanks for asking and I am sorry for the length: this fandom being paranoid, I had to include all the tedious details. I hope we can put this idiocy to rest, now. Parochial twits.

ok, i am currently watching the new hbomberguy video and i got to the part with james somerton, and this is actually painful. i cannot believe how fucking creatively bankrupt someone can be. like, does he even watch or engage with the media he makes video essays for? i can't be sure. if he just regurgitates everything, then wtf does this guy even believe? this is so insane to me. i can't imagine making all these videos copying other people's work verbatim, it's all so empty and soulless.
the thing i love about video essays is seeing what others are passionate about talking about. i guess to me, sharing that enthusiasm (especially if it features good analysis) is so satisfying! it says something about you as a person: what you like, what you notice, and what you feel from art. art that has had a strong personal effect on me is part of how i understand my identity. so i guess there's something nearly uncanny valley about a fucking human content machine spitting out videos featuring nothing but other people's thoughts, opinions and observations. it's all so cynical.
and it's made even more upsetting that this guy is, ultimately, a marginalized person standing on the backs of other marginalized people. profit in the name of "queer analysis." it fucking spits in the face of what the queer community should be - we should be looking out for each other. uplifting one another. you'd have to be a real fucking scumbag to treat others this way.
EDIT: i got further in and uh,,, my question "what is this guy even passionate about," was answered! it's hating women. he's a misogynist. wow. fuck this guy with a brick.
EDIT: WHY WOULD HE MAKE AN ATTACK ON TITAN VIDEO IF HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO SPELL "SHONEN." THAT'S NOT EVEN REMOTELY IN HIS WHEELHOUSE FFS IM INSANE \
edit: to follow up on anime not being his wheelhouse, apparently he was gonna make a neon genesis evangelion video (despite as recently as 2 weeks ago saying he'd never seen it and didn't understand the watch order) and a revolutionary girl utena video. thank you, harris, for saving us from this fate. good fucking GRIEF

Season two isn’t (fully) real, it’s a peaceful, fragile existence
The more I rewatch the show and read different theories, the more convinced I get that S2 is some sort of elaborate dream sequence or a distraction or memory alteration attempt (Neil’s chaotic angsty ineffable husbands fanfic?). But not all of it.
(This gets kind of rambly so if you want my true hook, scroll down to the Michael Sheen Staged gif.)
Let me make this perfectly clear on the outset: I don’t think all of it is a dream, and I certainly don’t think the final 15/kiss is or is going to be discounted (and not only because there would be literal riots in the street, because there absolutely would be, but also I’m putting trust in Neil and the team wholeheartedly). I think that could actually be the domino that brings them out of it. I read somewhere recently something along the lines of “something loved can never be truly forgotten” and I think that fits my theory perfectly. I’m also making no claims (yet) as to what I think is real and what I think is “enhanced”.
Also I apparently am either too far deep or cannot work the tumblr search function with any modicum of usefulness, so please link me to the posts I’m alluding to if you think it’s the right one. I will edit them in and sincerely apologize to the brilliant minds that exist outside the confines of the search function.
Now, On with the show:
You can be in charge of the biscuits
Maggie and Nina: Look, I get that recasts happen, they change the actor playing the character because of scheduling conflicts, etc. But to cast the actor/actress that is immediately recognizable from a prior interaction (whether with the characters or the audience) is not something you see. FFS Maggie DIED in S1, and Nina was pivotal (maybe too strong a word, but enough to be memorable surely) to the storyline. It’s like someone said “Hey, they’ll work, bring em in, no I don’t care that they were in S1. It’ll be a test of how well our facade is working. If they (A&C) notice, then the gig is up and we’ll know it.”
Also why in the world is the owner of a coffee shop offering Eccles cakes to calm down, when camomile tea is right there? (Resists the urge to go off on a tangent on how Eccles cakes were used to celebrate the “Eccles wakes” at the feast of St. Mary (yes that Mary) and how that ties into the second coming plot.) Do Eccles cakes count as biscuits? Ugh another thought for another day I suppose.
It has come to my attention during writing that Shax is the same actress as Madame Tracy. I have less of an affront to this knowledge since I’m 2 months deep and countless rewatches in and only just noticed. But I’m going to pop it in this header anyway. Are you really trying to tell me that a show that apparently has demon entrances happening precisely on the 6s really didn’t think these choices out very deliberately? (Edit 3: https://www.tumblr.com/noneorother/735823422626709504/the-secret-timeline-inside-of-good-omens-season-2 JFC why can I never find the blogs when I want to insert them? It was a breakdown about how all of the demon entrances happen at a 00:00 that ends in a 6.)
Yours very faithfully, Maggie
Text to mail disconnect: There’s been a theory pop up (at the time one writing this at least (edit 2: https://www.tumblr.com/azariah-z-fell/743434274903048192/it-is-extra-weird-because-it-is-on-the-record) that Maggie actually texted Aziraphale her request to talk, and it was magically translated into a physical form, and the spelling error (that so many people are shouting DEMON at) was just an autocorrect typo. But, surely Maggie would know he doesn’t text if she knew him for several years at least. We’ve never seen either of our boys text, only call. Seems like someone doesn’t know how phones work, but wanted to get the message received? See also: currency, below.
You ever think, what’s the point?
Numerous people have pointed out the same obvious background people. There are theories about the guy in the Hawaiian shirt being the second coming or something similar. I wonder if it’s some sort of play on a badly executed attempt to make Wickber Street seem “normal” in an alternate reality, an elaborate distraction, but they have to keep using the same character models because their imagination is just slightly better than Shadwells’ (Oh gfdi how did I miss Mrs. sandwich right there). I’m not saying we haven’t done a “oh oops silly me I forgot something” but that isn’t usually done in the middle of a sidewalk. When Aziraphale is initially talking to Jim with the blanket, there’s a guy just chugging his arms outside the window, not walking. Another one in E3 when Shax show up outside the shop, a guy in an orange sweatshirt passes in the background, then passes again, and not close enough in time/area to just be the continuation of the walk. Especially in the early episodes, there are veritable conveyer belts of people, straight lines, no trying to pass, etc. I’m trying to look at the background in S1 and while there are still tons of people, the background is… livelier. People passing, shoving past, actually going places.
“I’m looking at the statue of Gabriel.” “Oh, good job?”
Aziraphale basically learns fuck-all when he makes the trip to Edinburgh. Granted, I do believe most of that was to make the Bentley “our car”, but so many things are out of character. The no drink, the over-the-top “investigation” (as awkward as he is, Aziraphale knows how to act more normally than that with humans), the background on the drive up there…
All the others were taken (random collective thoughts)
Somehow ALL the businesses on the street are different from Season 1?
A normal person would have moved out of the rain instead of just lolling there letting raid splatter their glasses, yeah? (As a person with glasses I can confirm).
“We have all the hosts of hell searching for him” cue Crowley looking around like then why the fuck are there still demons around me?
The cross disappearing from the Gabriel statue between shots.
“I’m a bit out of miracles” and “that’s not how miracles work” from the guy who got written up for too many frivolous miracles.
I have here a sixpence and a farthing There’s always money in the banana stand
The lack of (accurate?) paid transactions seems like whoever is pulling the strings has no concept of earthly money and how it’s supposed to work, just that it exists. Crowley and Aziraphale talk bluntly about poverty and know that money is needed and used in current society (“Give her the money, Angel”, Rome, Globe Theatre, 1941 magic shop, etc.). Could be a “let’s not get lost in the trivialities” thing but it does strike me as odd. Caveat: Aziraphale forgiving the rent doesn’t quite fit, but cost of the record is obscenely low.
But this does give me hope about the 3rd 1941 flashback, because they were using money accurately there, which hopefully means the flashbacks and memories aren’t being altered, just “present day”.
We’re real people
One of the overarching themes in Season 2 (and S1 now I think of it) is “stop interfering in the lives of other people”. Maggie and Nina, Job, Elspeth, the entire dance party, Warlock, the book of prophecy. It would be a shame if someone were to make sure I failed to be messing about in their own lives.
I had brothers, you don’t scare me
Something happened just before Maggie told them to “Come in here and say that to my face.” Another demonic turn potential here, but also kind of like someone’s saying “FFS get on with the plot”.
The book of love has music in it
This post https://www.tumblr.com/noneorother/731977308306636800/all-the-music-you-didnt-hear-the-good-omens (finally, one I can find!) popped up, and there’s another one that purports to have noticed that there’s music lines missing from the opening sequence (edit 1: Found it!: https://www.tumblr.com/dadesu/726651737165938688/anyone-noticed-the-missing-half-bar-in-good-omens ). Possibly Clueing us in that there’s something that’s missing elsewhere (I mean obviously, that’s the whole point of this season, is it not?).
Tumblr media
So where do we go from here?
As much as I’d love to say “Alright so the kiss breaks the spell whoever was put over them because of ✨the power of love✨, the ruse will be revealed, and they’re not talking because they don’t have to”
I don’t know, my thoughts are just the overarching patterns I’ve noticed over many, many rewatches and probably reading a few too many magic trick theories and/or fanfics. I don’t intentionally make my theory posts open-ended, but in the end that’s the fun of it. Nothing has to be mutually exclusive (yes I’m referencing my “Is Crowley already the new Supreme Archangel” post, I think I’m allowed that much). I’m happy to be proven wrong, and probably will be.
Lots of things are wrong right now
But I will leave you with one parting thought: Crowley knows. He knows there’s furniture missing. (That’s why he keeps just tossing things everywhere, because he know it doesn’t matter.)
And he. Does not. Care. For it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How many theories that I myself hate can I dig into?
I’m a demon, I lied:

Happy Deltarune Chapter 2 Day! 🎉
Presenting a revisited old idea I had:
Recruitable Party Member Spamton!
Available in [Big Shot] RED and PIPIS [Blue Blue Electric Blue]
Tumblr media
Normal! Spamton (Red Mage)
Acquired via Normal Route
According to Final Fantasy Wiki, Red Mages can learn the spells of White and Black mages, but it comes at the cost of lower stats.
He's more Addison looking because we made him a Real Boy tm! Behaviorally, not much has changed apart from being more composed.
Normal! Spamton's starting armour are the "Bargain Hunters" - the spiffy orange glasses he's wearing. This orange is a blend of the Dealmaker's pink and yellow. From what I read, orange lenses are ideal for foggy and low light conditions and filters out blue light.
Normal! Spamton has the ThornRing in his inventory. It's an incompatible weapon type so he cannot equip it. (But if one asks Malius to fuse ThornRing with an equippable weapon…)
Tumblr media
Weird! Spamton (Blue Mage)
Acquired with the presence of any Weird Route save file
Referencing FF Wiki again, Blue Mages learn spells from enemies.
Weird! Spamton often freezes and stutters in his speech and actions. Other than that, he is Spamton.
I left him a puppet because you didn't "free" Spamton in Weird! Route (and also to show how bad the Player messed up)
His starting armor is the "Snow Visor" - those snazzy purple glasses. I read that purple (technically red/purple) lenses are good in snowy weather. This purple is the complimentary color of the orange in Normal! Spam's glasses.
He has the Dealmakers in his inventory. They can either be exchanged with the Snow Visor or the Player snag them for themself.
Spamton Stats
Health: 150 * Attack: 8 * Defense: 0 * Magic: 7 * Guts: 1
I took his base game stats for this. Health is 600 ÷ 4, because the OG value seemed too high for a starting party member. The 7 in magic came from adding 1+9+9+7 and then dividing by 4 (6.5) and rounding up (7). (9 + 4) ÷ 2 also equals 6.5
His Guts is 1 because I wasn't sure what other number to give him.
Funny Stats (Normal! Spam): [Hot Stuff]: 1997, Sleaziness: 94
You know why these numbers are here 😉
Funny Stats (Weird! Spam): [Ice Cream]: 1997, Sleaziness: 94
Regular Attack has him throw a Pipis
[That's A Spicy Meatball]
Specils: Money Vacuum (Damage + Chance of Stealing D$ or Items from the enemy), Minitons (Summon clones to harass the enemy), Word Bullets (words *can* hurt your enemy)
Normal! Spam has Heal Deal (heals 60 HP to entire party)
Weird! Spam replaces Heal Deal with [Market Research], which allows him to copy an enemy's last used attack for the duration of one battle. (Works like the Mimic move in Pokémon.) He also has a < 20% chance of Freezing enemies when he attacks them.
Regardless of form, Spamton's starting weapon is The Big One, a broken sword with a blue polished pommel resembling a Pipis. (It's meant to be the sword he sells in his shop.)

Laws of Attraction กฏแห่งรักดึงดูด Ep 7
My keysmash count for notes this episode was at nine, which is impressive considering I only had about 30 lines of notes -- that's nearly one keysmash per 3 notes. Deserved.
Ooof of course it was Thatthep who killed Tongkhao, but making his kid take the fall??? Dude is even worse a person than I thought.
OH that escalated quickly? Good for them
Shshshsh oh no Thaen and Matee are SO death flagged, oh nooo
Chaan, upload that recording somewhere safe NOW, ffs
Ahshshs Tinn barrelling in no holds barred to hug his man right in front of the kid's salad
This Macmansion is an abomination
Aahahajaja this dude coming out with bloody brass knuckles
Dhdhdhhhd SPELLING ERROR I cannot (ญาน // Yaan instead of ฌาน // Chaan)
Communication? In this economy?? (also 👀 Tinn uses the same word, งี่เง่า /ŋîː ŋâw/, here that Pat keeps using in BBS when the subtitles say 'silly')
I love Rose so much
Suicide missions are never a good idea, FFS Chaan
These two is2g, do they have to be so cute???
Omg confession? Also does he though. Does he. Is he capable? Tinn, I believe, but Chaan … Jury is out
This is a pattern of behaviour that I find deeply concerning, Chaan. Just so you know.
FFS Thaen you are on the run WHY WOULD YOU STREAM THAT, make it make sense. Thee, at least you I thought were smarter than that.
OOOF I hope they at least realise they need Thee alive if they want to use him to make Thaen listen
Oh like I didn't hate Thatthep enough already.
Tinn, I wanted you to be smarter than that
Chaan having a change of heart?
Chaan … "Money and power isn't everything" is very easy to say when you have both of those things. Just saying.
Aahahshs of course Tinn broke the bed to get free. Of course he did.
Pretty sure that's not the while truth but Chaan
Damnit Chaan can you not be cruel for once??
Oh man what an ep 11
Awwww
Oh this is going to go so badly
Oh, did he just marry him?
I'm torn between "I can't wait for the next episode" and "no no no it'll be over after next episode!" I hope One31 keeps blessing us with shows like this one, it has been a WILD ride and addictive as all get out. The DRAMA!

The main issue with discourse about crests is how people see it as a cause for inequality with the nonsense about church bad it explains them as gifts of the goddess when
Is there another part anon?
I was loitering on redshit today and saw this sort of argument about the "Church BaD because Rhea said Crests come from the Goddess so she gives a divine right to rule to crested people" and...
Well, save for being a peak example of projecting and ignoring the text at hand...
It's, as you say relatively meaningless in the greater "inequality" scope of things, because, hey.
Kevin Blaiddyd can lift an ox with his pinky. Bob the mailman cannot. Even if Rhea never wrote a thing about the source of Crests... Kevin and Bob wouldn't have been treated the same way : in a world rife with giant monsters and bandits, Kevin's super strength will always be valued over Bob, who doesn't have this super strength, when it comes to protect/defend his people/family.
In a way, writing the Crests come from the Goddess has two results : 1/humans won't try to get their hands on one since, uh, if the goddess gives them, it's as random as it can so, maybe, if you find a person with pointy ears who has a crest, you won't be tempted to, idk, kill it and eat its liver to get a crest
+
2/maybe... it's the one of the only few things Rhea could preserve/salvage from her family and culture ?
The beings who were originally granted crests, aka Nabateans, were created with this power because the Goddess created them as such - "it comes from the goddess" is not technically a lie, Crests come from her blood and were only originally gifted to her children... Humans just happened to get this power by "stealing" it (at least if we're talking about the Elites and their lines!)
Back to projection and "ignoring the text at hands", getting the "divine right to rule" conclusion from this is like me, idk, going to the UK and expecting to find a good baguette :
The Book of Seiros lit says the Goddess is disheartened to see how the power of crests is misused by humans and says Nemesis fell to corruption, basically spelling out how people who have crests... shouldn't abuse it.
Imo, it's not the "divine endorsement" to rule here, but it's much closer to the mandate of heaven doctrine : if you do not rule wisely, the gods will abandon you - the first crested humans did so much shit that Sothis wept and left Fodlan (according to the Book of Seiros!).
As for crest inequality...
Yes, some people are born with super powers, and others aren't. Just like your usual run of the mill genetics that are still used, irl, to discriminate or at least make differences between two people.
"get rid of the system where super powers are valued" is just a nebulous nonsensical leitmotiv that... is completely empty, if you look closer at it.
AG!Sylvain wants to get rid of situation where you will have to use those super powers, okay, why not? But if a Giant Wolf charges at a toddler, and Sylvain with his relic can stop him, but Miklan without said relic cannot - who should be called upon to protect the toddler, or to get rid of the Giant Wolf? Sylvain or Miklan?
Ditto with healing : if Flayn can her special Nabatean Magic to make an AOE area to heal 100 people at once to full HP, when humans require at least 10 healers to cover the same area to heal those 100 people to full HP, who is going to be called to help when available? Flayn, or 10 healers?
Unless you get rid of everyone who has a super power - you can't value something that doesn't exist lol - "creating a world where crests aren't valued" is just, impossible.
FFS, Billy can rewind time, how do you make people "not value" this ability?

S2 overarching theory
Rewinds, memory and no god
I don't think the present in s2 are memories. It starts the same way that the s1 present-set times start: s2e1 begins in the clouds and zooms across the same landscape just like s1e2, the only difference is that there's more fog in s1 after the zoom into building-level. We literally go through a ton of white bullshit in s1 that isn't there in s2.
In s1, we were explicitly shown that what we were seeing was a recorded narration: the camera bumped into Newt's window, showing us that he can affect electronics, and we saw a pair of fast forwards/rewinds.
We did also explicitly see in s1 that there were different versions of the past/present, interwoven timelines if you will: Anathema's drawing on the title page of Agnes's book changes between when we are shown she made it and when Aziraphale sees it, and the "last" prophecy changes numbers. There is also a boat I cannot identify.
We did not have the fog in s2, and we did not have god's narration, and we had no ff/rw's. In s1, we also saw white mist in the paintball war, which appeared to make the office workers reenact the war in heaven: instead of seeing the ineffables as strangers, they saw them as people they knew.
I think the white mist, and the fog in the flydown to the present, was a "heavenly filter", god's POV. God sees "the truth", she sees things filtered through her demands, her rules.
Not having that in s2 means we are seeing reality as it appears to humans, not objectively, not "adjusted" so it's easy to understand. S1 was adjusted, s2 wasn't. That's why s1 was normal and s2 is a mess.
Imagine if we saw s1 without god's POV. What would it look like from the POV of the humans on the bench after armageddon who were told that their trade delegation got eaten by a mass hallucination?
It would look like timelines were intersecting and memories were being erased and you were reliving time loops. Because you kinda did. Except that's not what happened. It all happened, and it was changed post facto by Adam. That's not a memory wipe, but to the humans that's what it looks like. We are now those humans. Both realities are true: the trade delegation was eaten, and the monster that ate them never existed. That sure does look like a timeloop from the inside.
"Armageddon only happens once, you know. You don't get to go round again until you get it right."
Except they sure did. God shows us they did, because her ff/rw's show us things changed. God went round till she got what she wanted, but we only saw the last version.
Why else change the opening fly down? God said at the end of s1 after the reboot that "there was fallout in the nature of reality".
I think armageddon went round once, god didn't like it, so we went round at least once more, perhaps twice. You know how she likes threes. Maybe the first time Agnes wasn't there. Maybe the second time, there weren't enough prophecies to help. Third, perfect, and that's the one we saw: but there were echoes of the past two tries we didn't see inside the third that we did get to see. Much like how in s2, we see the dirty columns from the demons scratching it in the beginning, and people seem to appear and disappear as if there's sloppy Doylist editing and poor continuity. It got worse from s1 to s2 because we're not seeing the god's eye view, we're seeing things like those people on the bench bitching that a mass hallucination ate their trade delegation: people are literally there and gone between blinks.
God gave us a neat and linear Watsonian story in s1, because god was our Doylist editor. We do not have her anti-bullshit filter for s2, so now we are seeing what the humans in s1 saw: continuity errors.
So in s2, we don't get god's narration, we don't get her truth spell fog, AND on top of those, things are also "going screwy with reality" because of what Adam did.
Perhaps Aziraphale's and Crowley's powers go haywire: just like at the ball, people are now showing up as they wish to be, which would explain why people are dressed so haphazardly on the streets; and they now know something is wrong with supernatural events, instead of living in boring "reality" where they see them but make up a justification and forget. We're seeing what happens to Soho when A+C make it how they want it to be, just like Adam did to Tadfield's perfect weather. A+C never had to learn not to do that because they never had those powers before. The other angels have no idea what earth is like so they don't notice anything wrong.
If what we're seeing is A+C affecting reality, perhaps the people flipping around between blinks happens just like it did for Adam: Tibetan people not digging spy tunnels, then suddenly spying and having no idea why but compelled do to it. Maybe A+C are gaining powers akin to god's, and God is fighting them trying to control it, to put reality back to how it's supposed to be. A 14-second kiss feels like forever and the clock skips 15 minutes because that's how time feels like it's moving when you can MAKE your feelings into reality. Just as time doesn't move when you reminisce about when you fell in love and the days felt like they were melting together.
That doesn't explain Maggie though. She couldn't have bought the record store from its previous s1 owner and just lied about it, because Aziraphale would have said something (probably). Though perhaps she did just buy it, 8 months ago, and never paid rent. Nina is the only person she tells she was always there, but if it's true Nina only just arrived, Nina would not know she's lying. I do still think Maggie's god taken form, which explains all her weirdness: human heads aren't built for omniscience just like Jim's isn't built for remembering who he is anymore, you'd have to cut out a lot of stuff.

RPG Role Analysis Series #5 - Dragon Quest III vs. Final Fantasy I vol.I
It's time to do a bit of compare and contrast! I want to talk about Dragon Quest III, but I think we need to compare it to Final Fantasy I, because they have such a similar structure, and together are so foundational in the JRPG world.
Dragon Quest III was released just two months after Final Fantasy I, so I don't think they influenced each other much. The Wizardy series was already on IV around the same time, and Ultima IV had come out years earlier, and many of the classes in Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest III are analogous to those games, which in turn are taken from D&D.
Despite this, the chosen classes for each game have so much overlap! FFI has six, which each have a promoted class, but each class promotes only to that advanced class and can't change mid-game. There is also no main charater, your four party members are equal and your party composition can be anything. DQIII on the other hand allows you to choose your three party other members at will mid-game, but you always have to have Erdrick, the protagonist.
Tumblr media
Warrior (FF) / Warrior (DQIII) - The damage-dealing knight in both games. Both Warriors are tanks that wear the best armour and swing the strongest weapons, their job is to hit things and stay alive long enough to push through damage. In DQIII however, the Warrior cannot learn Magic, whereas the FF Warriors' promotion, the Knight, can learn low-level White Magic, making it a bit more of a paladin sort, actually. There is no further distinction in FFI of access to spells than the level of spells a job can access, so all low-level White Magic is available to the Knight, meaning they can heal (single or multi-target), deal holy damage to a group of undead, increase allies defence and evasion, or reduce incoming fire and lightning damage, making them have a role in supporting the party as well as dealing damage.
Monk (FF) / Fighter (DQIII) - FFI monks and DQIII fighters are more similar than the Warriors in that in both games, neither can learn spells, including The Monk's Master promotion. Both wear no armour, and no weapons (except claws can be used in DQIII without penalty), and hit hard weaponless, but are left as glass cannons due to their lack of armour. FFI monks emphasize being faster than other classes, and DQIII fighters have a higher critical hit chance, but the main draw of both is that they save the party money by having one fewer member to buy expensive items for. In addition, they can reach their maximum potential better than two Warriors who would compete for the same rare/unique swords. This is especially useful in DQIII, as a Hero-classed Erdrick will always need this gear. These early games don't have monks do especially monk-like things, like have any special fighting abilities, their job is to be low maintenance, above all.
White Mage (FF) / Cleric (DQIII) - Both classes have low physical stats, but aren't as helpless at using weapons as the Black Mage/Mage. They won't deal your main damage, and have to be carefully guarded, but it won't be completely worthless to attack normally when no one needs healing (which is great, as their magic does not focus on damage either), and won't necessarily crumple instantly, but should be carefully guarded. Both types can heal, revive, do multi-target damage for a large MP cost, reduce incoming magic damage, buff (evasion and defence for White Mages, agility for Clerics), and heal status effects. The DQIII Cleric can cause sleep status and debuff enemy defence, wheras the White Mage can only dispel defences (not truly a debuff, which is the realm of the Black Mage). The Cleric also has instant death spells, where the White Mage can protect against the same from enemies.
Black Mage (FF) / Mage (DQIII) - Both the DQIII Mage and the Final Fantasy Black Mage have pitiful weapon attack power, as they are meant to only attack using spells. In DQIII, items exist to cast spells for free, which gives the Mage something to do without blowing all their MP. The Mage can buff party defense, the Black Mage can caste Haste, and both can buff party attack, both cast elemental damaging spells, and slow enemies. The DQIII mage get a lot of the dungeon traversal utility spells that carry over from the protagonist of DQI and the Prince of Cannock in DQII (and some new ones), as was as a magic reflecting spell and some polymorphing. The FFI Black Mage has instant death spells and status effects like blind and stone.
Tumblr media
The DQIII mages have more of a mix of spells probably influenced by the roles of the Prince of Cannock and Princess of Moonebrook. The result is that the Cleric feels more like a D&D Cleric, with about the same level of offensive options, and the Mage feels more like a D&D Wizard who learns a variety of spells with different functions, including niche utility cases. The Final Fantasy ones really focused down on having the White Mage do purely beneficial effects to the party and the Black Mage do purely detrimental effects to the enemy (exception:making other people hit them harder), and fully exclusively own those roles.
Damn my posts are so long, I'll do some of the more divergent/interesting classes in another post (Red Mages/Sages, Thieves, the Merchant, Hero and the Jester).

Another day, another ff!
On today's menue, a rather sad love story
______________
Sir Leon x reader
includes: magic, wounds, fluff, memory loss, magic spells
word count :1.6k
______________
You pathed through the forest, through the massacre that had been going on here. Dead bodies were scattered all across the mossy ground. The gallons of blood coated a good piece of land in dark red.
Your eyes searched for Sir Leon. It took a good while before you were finally able to find his body laying on the ground, so you made your way over to him. With slow steps you neared yourself, as the hem of your dress and velvet cloak grazed the leafs and twigs on the ground.
"My my, who have we here..." With a heavy sigh you knelt down next to the knight. He was unconscious, heavily wounded and barely breathing.
One of your hands rested on his armed chest. While mumbling something in a foreign language, both your eyes went shut.
A strong spell left your lips. Before you could even open your eyes, the beat of his heart got back to a normal rate and his chest rose again. His wounds dissolved into nothingness and simply vanished within seconds.
You made yourself comfortable next to him, waiting for him to wake up. It didn't take long before his eyes opened slowly since his body was still weak.
"Oh my dear, sweet Leon..." The sound of your voice was very calm.
The man collected as much power as he could to sit up a bit and look around, only to catch the sight of his dead men.
"(Y/N)... what are you doing here?"
He reached out to get a hold of your hand and pulled it close to his chest as if he was afraid to lose you as well.
Another sigh left your lips.
"I'm saving your life. As always."
Leon did not recall you rescuing him in the past. A confused look lingered on his face, he felt like he had been in this exact situation already, even if he didn't remember. It felt like he had dreamed this situation before.
"That's not possible..."
With your free hand you brushed a strand of his soft curls away from his handsome face.
"We cannot continue like this", you started, "the people at court are already questioning your mortality. You can't be so reckless with yourself. I'm not capable of saving you every time."
Yet, he did not really understand what you said. The confusion of him was clearly visible.
"How did you save me?"
His voice was pretty quiet and unsteady for the great knight he was.
"Like I always do. It's the same procedure every time, my lord. You charge into battle and I go out to find you afterwards to patch you up. It's my duty."
The man squeezed your hand gently, his confusion turned into an empty stare. This situation felt so familiar to him. In his mind, he puzzled all the pieces together.
"You're not just a servant, (Y/N)... you have magic. Your treatment can't be explained otherwise."
You gifted him a soft smile and bobbed your head slowly.
These moments with him were always special, moments when he figured out your secret.
"I do, yes. You managed to find out, again."
Leon did not know what to say. It was not like he was shocked or disgusted, but he was unsure if he would find the right words. Something kept him extremely calm, as if it was no surprise to him.
Leon did not want you to feel bad, he needed to say something.
"Your secret is safe with me, I promise. I could never betray you and let the king nor the prince know."
"I appreciate that, my dear..." You placed one hand on his cheek, cupping it carefully.
"But you know I cannot let you remember."
"Wait", he protested, "Let's talk about this. I guess you're going to... erase this from my mind, but still, let me hear all of this once."
You thought about this for a second, but agreed in the end.
"So... How many times have you done this?"
"I stopped counting, but it started years ago."
He swallowed at the thought of that. How many times had you saved him already? He would've loved to know.
"You're saying we've done this plenty times before. How did I react? Have I ever made you feel awful?"
You smiled at his words. This man put you first, wherever he could.
"You're usually a bit spooked first, but you've always been understanding."
Leon swallowed at your words. The feeling that he had dreamed about this was not so wrong after all. Yet, he had another question for you, even though he felt like he knew the answer already.
"And I probably told you many times before that I... have feelings for you?"
Again, one of your hands gently caressed his cheek and his beard.
"Yes, you did. But no matter how many times you tell me, I'll never get tired of that. Not at all."
You leaned yourself against the knight and he pulled you into a gentle hug. For a long time you rested like that in silence before he had more questions for you.
"(Y/N)?"
"Yes, dear?"
"Did we ever kiss?"
Again you smiled while snuggeling yourself against the tall knight.
A warm feeling spread in your belly.
"Yes we have. I guess you will never remember our first kiss but one day maybe I can stop hiding and I can bring back your memories of that."
"(Y/N), I promise you that one day you'll be as free as I am. And then, I'd like you to bring back all these memories to me."
With a frown you hid your face in the crook of his neck. If you would continue using this spell on him, there was a chance he would forget you entirely or that the spell wouldn't work anymore.
"I'll see what I can do, my dear."
You gazed into his beautiful eyes again once you made some space between the both of you.
"Please don't take these memories from me again, I'd like to remember what you did for me. I want to remember you being so close to me.. " His voice was merely a whisper.
"As much as I would love to, I cannot let you remember that."
While talking, your thumb caressed his skin ever so slightly. He enjoyed the touch, not being scared even a little bit. He trusted and loved you.
"Because if one day they'll catch me, they'll notice that you're somehow involved into this, and then you'll be hanged next to me at my execution.
I hate do to this to you, Leon... but I have to. As much as I adore you being aware of my magic, appreciating my powers. I adore every time you confess your feelings for me."
Leon did not like the idea of that, but he was very understanding. He understood that you didn't have another choice.
" I love you, darling. More than anything. This is why I have to make you forget everything we just spoke about. As always." Your vision blurred to to the tears that were building up in your eyes.
"It always feels like a very distant dream. Where you use magic to save me, I promise you to keep your secret and then... I tell you about my feelings."
It didn't surprise you that by now, the spell lost some of its effectiveness on him.
A tear started to roll down your cheeks, but he pulled you closer again and wiped it away. He placed a soft kiss of your forehead and held you close for a while.
"Leon, it's time... the patrols are going to be here soon."
He understood, even though he did not want you to cast this spell.
"Do me a favour, will you?"
He asked quietly while hugging you tight.
With a nod you agreed and listened to his request.
"Once the law is changed, restore my full memory and become my wife. I want to be with you, forever."
With blushed cheeks you agreed, hugging him even tighter.
"I promise you, I will. Then we can get married and I can officially help ypu with my powers. But for now, we have to hide that..."
And with that, you placed a gentle kiss on his lips, feeling him kissing you back. While placing both hands on the sides of his head you mumbled a few words against his lips that he couldn't understand.
Soon you both separated and Leon felt a wave of tiredness overcoming him.
"Please forgive me, Leon. But I'm not going to risk you being executed."
The knight internally fought against your magic. He did not want to forget this. He did not want to forget what you did for him, and mostly he did not want to forget confessing his feelings to you.
"(Y/N)...I don't want to loose this memory..." he mumbled quietly as his eyes fell shut over and over again, no matter how hard he protested, until he fell asleep completely.
You hated yourself for doing this. You wished for nothing more than being his partner and not having to hide your magic any more.
One last time you looked at him, peacefully sleeping on the ground. "I cant wait to be free.. then we can finally be together..." were the last words you whispered to him, already hearing the patrols horses getting closer on the path nearby.

I didn't want to jump on slowie's post in case they don't want to see eldarya rant, but...
What was the real purpose of ANE? Yea, cash grab for Beemoov, but speaking from the story teller's side?
In TO Erika learnt something about new world, her ties with family were cut, she had to build her new life, found love, friends, and decided it's worth enough to make huge sacrifice. Most characters had their bigger/smaller arcs:
Ezarel got nice story (sucks that writers decided to throw it to litter), finally decided to face his fears. Valkyon... deserved better. Leiftan sadly got v botched and v forced on all players arc, but ok, cannot say they he learnt anything becasuse TO's ending was v rushed. Nevra was left with nothing. Miiko, Keroshane, Alajea, other characters- they were part of the story about i dunno, adapting? Making bonds? Something along the lines? It worked well enough to keep me glued to this game.
However, I cannot guess what is the main theme for Erika in ANE. Our MC. She didn't change during 16 episodes, and whatever they will have for her in those last 4- it won't have enough time to make same impact like it had in TO. What is the lesson the got? Not to trust easily (Charles)? They screwed it with HH and Erika blindly following her without asking questions. Erika didn't grow during whole season, she is literally the same girl she was at the end of TO. Her romance (hey, remember? it's otome game after all) is garbage. Correct me if I am wrong, but on Lance's route they didn't talk about Valkyon- even if he was her first love. She didn't talk with Leiftan about his crimes. When Nevra finally opened and tried to talk abt his insecurities writers decided to swith I AM HORNY NOW mode on.
I have read some really bad ff, like- REALLY bad, but they still have some story behind all those gramma, spelling and logical mistakes :)
Here? I am still looking for plot. Lots of things happen, and at the same time we (and characters) are at the same place as 4 eps ago.

Stealing Final Fantasy Statuses as D&D 5e Conditions
I just did a thing on stealing conditions from Pathfinder, but what about other sources? Here are some status effects from one of my favorite status-filled series: Final Fantasy. I’ve reworded them for use in 5e, and added some notes on how they could be further applied.
Tumblr media
Got danggit, Malboro.
Abandon
The creature’s critical range is increased by X.
Basically, Abandon 1 would be critting on a 19-20. Abandon 2 is 18-20, Abandon 3 is 17-20, and so on. I dislike that its similar to Abandonment. Maybe change the name to Savagery?
Abandonment
If the creature ends their turn and there are no allies within 5 feet of them, they become frightened until they start their turn within 5 feet of an ally. Effects that cure the frightened condition will cure this one.
I like this one. It forces the player to move and reevaluate their strategy without causing too much true harm. I dislike that it’s similar to Abandon. Maybe change name to Loneliness?
Amnesia
The creature loses all proficiencies, it can't cast spells, it can't understand language, and if its Intelligence and Charisma scores are higher than 5, they become 5. Greater restoration will cure this condition.
This one is taken from the Hydroloth monster. It’s a very nasty condition, so use it sparingly. It’s almost more terrifying than feeblemind, so if you put it on a spell, it should be a 9th level spell or maybe a 5th level spell with a 1-hour (concentration) duration.
Berserk
The creature must use their action each turn to make a weapon attack, drawing a weapon as necessary. The creature chooses targets at random and treats all creatures as hostile. They prioritize creatures in the immediate range of their weapon. If no creatures are nearby, they move up to their movement speed to the closest target they can see. If they end their turn without attacking anything, they attack themselves (but cannot critically hit themselves in this way).
I wish this effect existed in 5e already beyond a value in the confusion spell and the awful crown of madness spell.
Brave X
The creature gains a +X bonus to damage rolls with weapon attacks and gains advantage on saving throws to resist the frightened condition.
This could be a useful condition if using the Pathfinder 2e fear condition, which also has a numeric value. Brave X could reduce your Frightened X value, leading to less fear rather than “less likely to become afraid.” I can see this as a 1st-level spell with 3 targets like bless, perhaps with X being the spellcasting modifier. It should absolutely cost a resource and need concentration if it’s a spell.
Curse
Whenever the creature rolls a 20 on a d20 roll, it counts as rolling a 1 on that die instead. The creature cannot critically hit and ignores the first instance of advantage on any roll they make.
Normally, this status effect prevents characters from using their limit breaks in FF. So I made it prevent the creature from “doing cool things” (aka crits). It also mirrors the Lucky condition below, so perhaps call this one “Unlucky” instead since Cursed is a pre-existing status in 5e.
Doomed
Roll 1d6 when the creature gets this condition and note the die’s value. At the end of each of that creature’s turns, decrement the number by 1. If the number becomes 0, the creature is reduced to 0 hit points and begins dying. The creature cannot succeed at death saves while the source of this condition persists. If the source of this condition (a creature or object) is destroyed or reduced to 0 hit points, the condition ends and the creature can succeed at death saves again. Effects that remove curses can remove this condition.
This should probably be a pretty high-level effect or spell, maybe appearing on a 4th-level spell for 1 target or an 8th-level spell for multiple targets and use a Charisma save to negate it. I mean, it’s kind of like a delayed banishment, right? You might be able to get away with it as a fancy 3rd level spell, assuming the target is aware of how many turns they have left and can choose to focus the spellcaster.
Faithful X
The creature deals a bonus +X to damage rolls with spells and magical abilities and gains advantage on saving throws to resist the charmed condition.
I don’t like the name for this one but there’s not much else I can think to name it. Maybe Fervor? Favored? Graced? Blessed is sort of taken… Either way, spell damage can be a little strong depending on how it’s used. +3 damage on a magic missile is different than +3 damage on a fireball. This should be used with fairly low numbers and shouldn’t be something the player has access to all the time. It should require concentration if granted by a spell.
Frozen
The creature is paralyzed and gains fire resistance until the ice melts. The ice melts when the creature is dealt a total of 10 or more fire damage (before resistances are applied). The ice melts in 10 minutes in temperate conditions or 1 minute in hot conditions. It doesn’t melt in freezing temperatures.
Another one I’m surprised doesn’t exist in 5e. In FF it completely locks the character out of play, which may be a little too powerful for D&D, but I like the agency of being able to use fire to end the condition. It might be more useful to have levels of frozenness, like level 1 being half speed, level 2 being restrained, and level 3 being petrified, and each time they take fire damage reduces the condition by 1 level. I just think it’s neat.
Hasted
The creature’s speed increases by 10 feet and they gain +1 AC. Their initiative roll increases by 1d6 at the end of each of their turns. If this would increase their initiative past 25, it sets them to 1 instead.
I wanted a version of speeding up a creature that is interesting but deliberately weaker than the haste spell. Gradually increasing the creature’s initiative lets them have immediate value by going a bit earlier and eventually net an entire extra turn once they pass their original position in the turn order. This feature is useful for anyone, but could probably afford to be a 2nd-level spell.
Imperiled X
The creature gets -X to all attack rolls, ability checks, saving throws, and to their AC. Effects that remove curses will remove this effect.
This status normally reduces all stats in FF, so that’s what this does here. Awful, isn’t it? This should be a higher-level debuff available to be used by and against tier 3-4 player characters. That being said, it shouldn’t take a huge spell like greater restoration to remove it because it’s truly awful.
Lucky
Whenever the creature rolls a 1 on a d20 roll, it counts as rolling a 20 on that die instead. The creature negates the first instance of disadvantage on any roll they make.
There’s a few ways to interpret increased luck, but I like this version because it negates any potential unlucky rolls while increasing one’s crit range. The second part is difficult to parse, but basically they ignore the first thing giving them disadvantage, but not the second. This means they can also get advantage when it would normally be negated by disadvantage.
Malady
The creature can’t regain hit points from magical means. Effects that remove the poisoned condition can cure this effect.
There are effects like this in 5e already, so I think giving it a name is useful.
Malodorous
Whenever the creature rolls for damage, they roll twice and take the lesser value. Effects that remove the poisoned condition can cure this effect.
I mean, we can just call this Enfeebled, right? Also, something I’m starting to like as a mechanic, advantage and disadvantage on damage rolls!
Misery
Whenever the creature takes damage from a damage roll, reroll the damage dice for this creature and take the greater value. Effects that remove curses end this effect.
Truly abhorrent to simply take more damage. I would have said they become vulnerable to damage, but I think that’s too much of a death sentence. Instead, enemies just have “advantage” on damage rolls against them.
Oiled
The creature is vulnerable to the next source of fire damage they take, and they ignite taking 1d10 fire damage at the start of each of their turns until they or another creature spend an action to douse the flames. Using an action to wipe off the oil will end the condition.
Technically oil has an effect when a player is covered in it in D&D 5e already, but who wants to look that up? Just say they’re vulnerable to the next fire damage they take and light on fire. Can also be paired with Pathfinder 2e’s Persistent Damage condition. The main concern is that flasks of oil may become super powerful. Instead, maybe just add a flat 1d10 initial fire damage plus the 1d10 per round, or maybe reroll the fire damage and take the greater value.
Pacified
The creature cannot willingly make weapon or spell attacks. Effects that remove curses can remove this effect.
This one seems especially mean, but it still leaves plenty of options for the afflicted creature. They can still take the Help action, still Dodge and act as a meat shield, even still cast spells with saving throws instead of spell attacks, technically. I think this is fine, but also think that a hostile creature attacking a pacified creature should end the condition as well.
Protected
The creature has resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
Stoneskin on a condition? I think it’s fine. It creates a useful shorthand, especially for monster resistances. For instance, a werewolf might have “Protected/Silver.” Based on the Protect spell from FF.
Provoked
The creature must use its action during each of its turns to make at least one weapon attack. It gains disadvantage on attacks against creatures other than the one that provoked it.
I don’t think having a condition for compelled duel causes any harm, and it would be neat to let open this up to those without the spell. The only rub is the forced attacking, but I don’t think it’s that bad if used with restraint. Maybe it only lasts one turn or requires concentration.
Shelled
The creature has resistance to damage caused by spells and magical effects other than bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
Now this is something that doesn’t exist in 5e, resistance to spell damage. “Magic Resistance" only gives advantage on saves, which is great, but it means they can still get hit for full damage. The effect’s name comes from the Shell spell from FF, so maybe calling it “Warded” or something would be more apt for 5e.
Silenced
The creature cannot speak, making it impossible to perform the verbal components of spells. A lesser restoration spell can remove this condition.
I mean, simple. This is a condition that I think should exist in 5e and be more of a problem for players. For a single target, this could probably be a 3rd level spell, since that’s the level where dispel magic and counterspell live. “But silence is a 2nd level spell!” Yes, but that is an aoe that hurt you and your allies as much as it does enemies so it’s a double-edged spell. A single-target effect would heinously increase its power to single out the enemy necromancer or what have you.
Zombie
Effects that replenish lost hit points instead cause force damage to the creature. Effects that remove curses can remove this condition.
Honestly, I would call this something like “Infected” or “Hexed.” I would call it cursed but that has actual terminology in 5e. I enjoy this condition, though, since it screws with how players might use their spells. Undead enemies might innately have this condition. Optionally, you can have this condition also have effects that deal necrotic damage instead restore the same number of hit points. However, this makes it so cantrips can heal the creature so it’s not recommended.

Ida Mattei - a monster fashion designer. Leading in the fashion and art scene with his brand - MARquees/MARkeez (have yet to decide on the spelling)
Ida is very upbeat, friendly and youthful. Whilst being almost 40, he lives a very active life, and his energetic mannerisms and 'fresh' fashion make him look like he's one of the 'hip youngins'.
Ida is vegan, whilst equipped with teeth similar to ones of a tiger, he wants to live healthily, and stinks either like tofu or freshly washed laundry. He has 2 canary birds, Blue and Lilac (but they are both yellow, go figure), his best friends, whom only he can tell apart. it's suspected he understands them, and they can carry full on conversations, but it may just be Ida being a deranged moron.
Ida has his specific fashion sense, but a key detail, is that he NEVER looks the same. Just by entering a new room or a scene, patterns on his hoodie change, sometimes into entirely different themes (like dragons turn into ribbons or tree branches with flowers) and so does the ornate golden detailing going both around his shoes and legs. Thus Ida's reference sheet only contains colors, as the actual shape of objects on him is fluid.
It seems, Ida is growing fascinated with the concept of fluidity and change. His office is never the same layout, he switches pens and pencils during a single project, he wants to turn and swap things as much as possible. He wants to have life coming out of stationary objects, patterns which seem to be moving, eyes and buttons that can be watching.

now that its been nearly a full day since the last fanfest, i'm just gonna put my thoughts on Dawntrail as a whole out.
Jobs
Viper is cool. I like the idea of another scouting class. I'm a ranged phys main so sharing jewelry with another job is a plus.
The aesthetic of Viper is really really cool. I love the swashbuckler look that the AF gear has. I cannot wait to put Marisol in something similar. The twin blades into a double blade is also very appealing. I used to play Sith Assassin and Jedi Sentinel in SWTOR and its like a marriage of the two.
So in conclusion, Viper is just cool and its gonna be a lot of fun to play. Just like how Reaper is pretty fun to play still.
BUT Pictomancer is just more exciting to me. I LOVE RELM so much. Its been forever since I played VI so I might go do that sometime.
AND THE SPELLS ARE SO CUTE. They look so fake and painterly that I just can't help but fall in love with them. The AF gear is also so cute and I cannot wait to put it on Lily.
Archie is also going to main this class (I had decided that before the reveal, when it was still in the air between green mage and pictomancer.) Its so cheesy and cute and goofy and feels like it would fit my Doctor Who-like character a lot better than the raw powerful Black Mage.
Pictomancer is just gonna be good healthy goofy fun and its the job I'm more looking forward to!
Fem Hrothgar
I'm so so so so happy that they went big and buff over cutesifying Hrothgar. Cause we know they could've and it would've not looked good at all. I'm still not the biggest fan of the dimorphism of Au Ra. (even tho I main one. ^.^;)
My biggest complaint with Fem Hrothgar is that their starter gear looks so much better than all the others. Like the wrist guards! They look sooooo good. (I also really dislike Au Ra starter gear, that doesn't help.) But you can see the new graphic update with them and just their general design feels better than the OG 5. I felt this way a little about male Viera, but I was not super likely to make a male Viera so it didn't matter to me that much.
I don't know if i'm gonna make a Fem Hrothgar... They aren't my style per say, but I'm not gonna keep that door closed. I'm not the biggest fan of more animalistic faces, but that's a personal problem.
All in all, they look fucking fantastic and I'm glad they went the route they did.
Graphic Update
It looks great and its gonna be good when we get it. I'm very glad they actually showed us dark skintones this time too. They all got such a glow up! Can't wait for the gear to follow.
Now give us more character creator options for everyone, and hats for Viera and Hrothgar!!
Tural
The areas look really pleasant, I do like the whole brand new adventure feel. Its a lot better than the feel of the start of the void quests, that kinda had the same feel but got a little dreary once in the void proper. I dunno. Even as a fan of IV the Void Arc was kinda, meh. I like Zero and Golbez as characters, but the rest was kinda whatever. The world lore was also good but eh.
The new zone designs are just breathtaking. I'm the biggest fan of the Western town and South American highland zones. They are just so different from what we have currently it will be great. Solution 9 and the cave zone (that appears to be under it) are.... really fucking cool. Its so far away from what we were expecting I just can't help but be estatic. (And I can take pics of the Linnaeas twins' home shard there. Since I headcannon it as a cyberpunky shard.)
The dungeons all look pretty neat, I like the thunder crystal mountainside the most so far.
Its gonna be a fun story I think, a nice palette cleanser from the heaviness of Endwalker.
The Arcadian
I have no idea what to expect from a raid that is taking place inside a graphics card. By name alone and the fact its in the cyberpunk area does give me good hope. :D
Vanadiel
As I haven't played XI I'm indifferent. It'll be a fun raid and I'm likely going to enjoy the fights, but its just another FF in XIV. Pretty standard tbh. It'll be fun and I'll enjoy the story but there is no anticipation for me.
Ultimate Eden
Its gonna be bonkers and I'm gonna enjoy watching the full fight once its figured out. (I'm not a savage raider lol)
Other Content
The field zone has potential. Since we know nothing else, that's all I've got. I did miss having a field zone in Endwalker tho. It was the perfect place to while away hours working on relics. (let's hope the next relic grind is as tedious as just gather tomes.)
Cosmic Exploration is going to look flashy and great, but I don't do a lot of crafting/gathering so I dunno how much I will enjoy it past its story. Its gonna just be relegated to going there once in a while like Island Sanctuary for me likely.
Deep dungeons are only fun the first time solo and ok with friends later. I've completed both PotD and HoH but my friends still haven't finished EO so....
Hildebrand is Hildebrand. Perfection in humor form.
I will likely enjoy the Variant dungeons, I've enjoyed the first 2 (haven't done the newest cause I was taking a break from the game) and I like the lore that comes with them.
I can't think of anything else really rn but those are my immediate thoughts! Its going to be fun and refreshing and I cannot wait till summer to play it. (tho we must)
