there's so many things in tsc that just come at you all at once, so it's hard to focus on just one thing to break down, but the most glaring thing that stood out to me is how hard it is to really put someone back together. especially someone so shattered that it's nigh impossible to glue them back and pray they don't crumble under your ministrations.

if jean is neil's foil, then jeremy is andrew's direct antithesis. whereas andrew is a steady bedrock because he's been broken too many times to know how to weather the storm, jeremy is too soft hands and an even softer soul. he cares and cares and cares. so empathetic and so gentle it almost breaks your heart. you pray for the impossibility that jeremy can survive knowing the truth because if he doesn't, then what hope does jean have? so you pray he can be steady too. that he can weather the storm as well. that he will not break when knowing that just under the surface lies shark-infested waters.

but then you remember the beginning. "even knowing everything could go completely sideways, you'd make that choice every time"

in every other universe, jean has not survived. but in every other universe, he did not have the trojans.

It’s already dark when you all set foot into the carnival, yet it’s still noisy and alive. It’s magical how a parking lot in the fall can be transformed into summer at a Coney Island. The cotton candy machines on every corner, kids with caramel stuck on their cheeks, and the smell of burnt popcorn wafting through the air. It was wonderful. It was romantic. Much better than the sports game.

By the time you can look around and ask what everyone feels up to do they’re already off in pairs. You look to your left to see Scaramouche, who was looking up at the rides the carnival had to offer before turning to you.

“Cant believe I’m stuck with you, again,” he grumbles, grabbing ahold of your elbow and leading you through the crowd.

You hold up your handful of tickets, “I guess we have to use these together.”

You both ride everything. There’s a Ferris wheel and a carousel and bumper cars, where Scaramouche annihilates the court, and flying swings and a mirror maze. The two of you even fold your legs up into the baby train and ride that, too. In between you get a stick of cotton candy, taking turns tugging on it with your teeth. He doesn’t let you pay for anything.

Finally, you reach the looming roller coaster the two of you had been eyeing the entire night, waiting for the lines to shorten and for your stomach to not betray you.

A group of girls let you both cut in line, giggling behind their palms at Scaramouche. The boy handling the tickets stutters his way through handling your tickets and locking you both into the ride, face tomato red when Scaramouche thanks him.

You glance around as the ticket boy checks on everyone’s seats, mentally counting how many people have been all over Scaramouche. You never gave it much thought on how he was one of your university’s most desired men. You now started to understand why.

The rollercoaster starts with a jerk that thankfully snaps you out of your trance. You focus your attention on Scaramouche’s demeanor, his arm draped across the back of the cart you were in, right behind your back, looking around as the ride climbed up a hill slowly. The wheels clinking and creaking with each track. When you round out at the top, right on the edge of the first drop, you spare a glance at Scaramouche who holds a small smile on his face as he takes in the sight of the park around them. His eyes masking his inner child. The carts begin to dip downward at the same moment your eyes meet Scaramouche’s.

OH MY GODDDDDD 🫨🫨🫨 SIT DOWN. I’M ABOUT TO TELL U THE MOST BEAUTIFULLY CHAOTIC AND CHAOTICALLY BEAUTIFUL FORMULA 1 CONTROVERSY OF ALL TIME

SO THE YEAR IS 2008. our key main players are as follows— fernando alonso, 2x world champion and also my skrunkly, his teammate nelson piquet jr, a rookie in this szn and also the son of known garbage can nelson piquet, pat symonds, renault’s director of engineering, and flavio briatore, renault’s managing director and TP at the time.

renault is literally not even in contention for the championship this year, so why they did this? who the fuck knows honestly. but we’re headed into the singapore gp. fernando has a very unfortunate qualifying, getting knocked out in Q2 after a mechanical failure and starting 15th, next to piquet jr who starts 16th. the race is seemingly normal. fernando pits on lap 12 for tyres and fuel (bc yes, back then u could refuel) and then 2 laps later, piquet jr fucking bins it into turn 17. like the flop that he is. and bc this specific turn makes it difficult to retrieve cars, they had to deploy the safety car.

2008 regs meant that the pitlane would be closed while the safety car was deployed until all the cards bunched up behind it. this gave fernando a significant advantage because remember, he already pitted 2 laps earlier, which meant that by the time the pit lane opened, the rest of the grid would have needed to pit for tyres or for fuel while he didn’t, giving him the clean air to put himself in front of the order. shenanigans ensue (massa’s fuel hose nightmare etc etc) that give him more of an advantage, and he goes on to eventually win the race.

NOW. to anyone else, this seems very, very normal. wow ! congrats to nando and renault for scoring their very first win of the season ! #underdogtingz ! and yes for literally a year, that’s what everyone thought .. until the next season.

in 2009, renault were flopping saurrr bad. they kept the same lineup and while fernando was doing his absolute best dragging the tractor that is the r29 (and slaying bc the fucker actually managed to put it on pole once), piquet jr was unsurprisingly a total disappointment, amassing a whopping ZERO POINTS !!!! renault was like wtf stop embarrassing us, and then dropped him over halfway thru the szn for romain grosjean.

piquet jr was PISSED. and he is his father’s son, so obv he decided to stir up some drama. he came onto national tv and was like um . ackshually . singapore 2008 was a LIE bc symonds and briatore asked me to crash ON PURPOSE. they had a masterplan all alongggg and everyone was like wtf !!! and briatore was like fuck you i’m suing u AND ur fuckass dad !

im not even gonna lie idk what came of that but in the end renault was like aight we’re not even gonna fight, also symonds and briatore are both resigning byeeee. eventually the FIA was like yeahhh y’all did this shit on purpose and symonds at least confessed, but briatore was STILL denying involvement even tho he clearly had enough evidence against him. symonds ended up being banned from any FIA events for 5 years (he’s working for the FIA now btw. christ!) and briatore was banned indefinitely but u just cant take the sport outta him cos u see him around sometimes lmaooo

fernando denied involvement and the FIA was like we believe u princess 🥰 whether he actually knew or not .. we don’t know .. but be was literally caught up in spygate the year before that so honestly who the fuck knows. this would honestly be nothing to him he took part in corporate espionage what’s a lil cheating gon do to his wibbly wobbly morals

I could see you as Anne Boleyn honestly that's pretty fitting. I wish I could've done musicals at my high school but they always did ones I was not at all familiar with and they basically only gave the main roles to the top 2 year groups. The one time I actually auditioned for Rock of Ages I got a character that literally wasn't even mentioned in the script and that pissed me off because I literally chose drama as my one of main subject for exams so I dropped it like a week later. It didn't help my friend got a lead role and never acknowledged me the entire time on the day we got our roles announced. I didn't mean to rant but honestly I'd love to do acting and stuff more if it didn't involve the stress of not getting a role you want.

That sounds shitty, im sorry, and your friend ignoring you is ://// my school back home didnt have extracurriculars and when i moved to the US...well...they also didnt have much. Just sports (and i have stories about that too...) and they were trying really hard to revive the theatre program but.......the school had less than 80 students. In rural midwest. No one was interested in theatre... it was baaad. But the fact that they chose the tumblr popular musical bmc... i cannot stress how funny it was but i dont want to doxx too much about the school. All im gonna say is they had tried deh the year prior but didnt have the proper rights to perform it💀 weird ass unreal time in my life, i refused to believe it was real at the time and looking back i still think i was in a bizarre truman show situation or perhaps a social experiment i failed. The school's name was also incredibly funny in this context but youre just gonna have to imagine it.

Anyway. So i cant say i have actual drama experience either. I cant stress how many things ive done in life just because i thought theyd be funny, but also because funny situations show themselves to me. Or i do things out of spite. I dont even think i can sing, personally. But thats not something you can say after you told everyone you performed for the president of your country earlier that year (which was true, there are still photos of us together. I could write a novel about that day because so much happened. But i also dont know how i got there. At all times i could turn to an imaginary camera, record freeze, and say "you're probably wondering how i got here" because honestly i was wondering too).

What im trying to say is highschool is fun because literally nothing matters so you can do anything, even with a small role or bad card youve been dealt im sure you can always steal the show👍if you ever decide to take drama class again^_^

Hey i really love your blog!!! I just plucked the courage to actually send u an ask fhdjhd but GOSH i love your video edits and your gifs and your meta article posts, you're so articulate and you can explain/describe moments in a way that makes me go "oh wow, i cant believe i haven't seen it that way before!!" Haha ANYWAYS i'm just here to say that i completely agree with what all u said, Free creators might do a lil fanservice here and there for the 25 ships that exists within the fandom's circle, but rinharu's storyline is clearly the most romantic one! And i'd argue it's the one closest to being canon esp after part 1, i mean the fact that they put such an explosive emotional outburst right at the end of the second to the last movie means a lot. It's like reinforcing the fact that this series has always been about them, and everything that has happened only happened either because they met or they grew appart and miss eachother. I kinda feel like maybe.. juust maayyybe there's a chance KA wants to make the ship canon, since it's the last movie and they want to end it on a highnote maybe (bcs honestly i think the only reason they've been holding back is purely bcs of the merch sales, since they don't have a problem showing a wholesome lesbian love story in kobayashi maid dragon) butt i could be wrong, maybe i'm just overly optimistic and delusional, they could somehow ruin it and give an ending that panders to all the ships again 😅🥲, but at least there's a clear-cut guarantee that part 2 would dedicate a large portion of it fixing rin and haru's fight!!! Well, you know me, I only care for one ship, which is the only one with confirmed info that they're both actually gay and have mutual feelings for each other. There are some other ships in free! I'm fine with (those do not include Rin or Haru in them xD), but I just mostly don't care, bc after reading all the stuff, you can see that in some of those to one the other one is actually like his second option, which I just do not like. Others I just don't even see, bc again to me who witnessed great close male friendships and having two sisters who I'm very close to, I just do not see anything romantic in that.

It's not just Free! tbh, it's like any sports anime these days. They see two guys walking together, it's a ship. And like no one cares if they're just bros. Like I'd get i they did some fanservice fanservice, but like I never saw anyone in Free! crossing the line the way rinharu do. I can without thinking much name you 10 rh moments that no matter how hard you think can't be explain as being bros, but can't name one when it comes to others. I just find some ppl shipping everyone with everyone weird sometimes. It's like western fans see like some eastern actors or singers slap each other ass lovingly and they're like "oh they're fucking" I'm like "yeah, ofc all 500 of them, you're absolutely right". Yeah, I eel you about "going there". I mean seeing part of it, it just kinda cemented my confusion, bc I do not get how it can be considered platonic. We were just discussing since yesterday with @freeseafirefly how I now even more perplexed and do not understand how they will resolve it without going into relationship territory. And now we not only have this (bc Haru just basically layed it out there), but an actual scene of him playing on their feelings for each other and a literal image of Rin leaving and "taking Haru's heart with him" to the point when he's for the first time in his life openly crying on the ground. And it's not like this scene can be interpreted as anything else, the whole fandom talks same, bc the whole fight was just about them, what Haru said was just about them, there's a literal boom of his heart getting out of his chest, before he falls and now he's heartless.

So our question is like... why go there?

It's like some say that they might still resolve it with "they're special to each other" and swimming, but still like we already knew that, there was no reason to go that far is what I'm saying. And to think that it was planned since forever giving the clues is like... ???

The whole spoon theme also throw me on the loop because like, lets be honest, it's wedding themed. And that part of the interview about part 2 there also made me go...?????? Because I mean, huh?

This is just all in all very interesting turn of events to say the least. I do not see the point of all of this if its not what I think it is, esp after seeing tweets like "even I see a rh wedding and I'm mh T_T". It's just all very unsubtle, that's why we're confused.

Like who knows, maybe we'll really by some magic turn of events get lucky and they really decided that since its the ending, it's okay to go for it. But I also don't wanna to hype myself much, I'm already really happy with it, just bc again, this scene already proves all of my points.

You were his crush from the moment he laid eyes on you. He was just a second year when he first met you. You were in two of his classes but what made him have eyes for you was volleyball. He had seen you during your practice and he felt his heart skip a beat.

You may or may not have been the reason why he joined in the first place. He eventually had the guts to ask you to practice with him. It became a ritual between you both whenever you had time. He loved everything about you. Not only were you beautiful but you were smart, athletic and skilled in what you did.

Sometimes he would fantasize what it would be like if he dated you. Ugh he would have been the happiest guy in the whole school. But when you had gotten the opportunity to reach you drama of being a pro player, he didn’t want to hold you back.

He had bought you followers to ask you out but instead said they were to congratulate you. You’re ere a little disappointed that he didn’t ask you out, but you accepted the gift regardless. The day you left broke his heart into pieces. Whenever he would see a volleyball he would feel a pang, remembering exactly what it symbolized.

He watched you play in tv and would always feel so proud when you would score. If he didn’t see you in person this was the closest he could get to. As you both became adults, you only blossomed more. Not only did you skills sharpen but you were a beautiful woman now.

He would see the way reporters scanned your body and face and it urked him. He wasn’t sure about his feelings for you but he felt something. After announcing your retirement at age 28 he felt a little sad. Sad to see you go from the sport you loved playing but also happiness and pride.

It was just as you remembered it, Karasuno high school. You had come today to speak to the volleyball teams. Apparently they had been doing better than they have in years. First you had gone to the girls and they were delightful, and very motivated to win.

Next it was the boys turn, you heard they got a new coach who was really whipping them into shape. 

The sound of balls hitting the wax floor brought memories back.You were there for another reason but that was to be told with the team.As you stood at the doorway you saw a lot of potential in this team, and you smile to yourself.

There was one boy in particular who was very short but you were taken aback when he sprinted across the court and spiking the ball. Your eyes went wide, what did you just witness? Someone of his height, with that speed and ability to jump, this kid was going places.

Not only were you able to help out a team but you were also catching up with an old friend. You both caught up with things that have happened and all. there were even some times where situations became tense. Whether it be catching each other watching the other, or being alone in the elevator or unfinished sentences. 

Even the boys could see the unspoken thing between you both. They all hoped for you to get together finally. Sometimes they would push you to make the first move. Yet you never did.

He felt especially nervous since the finals were coming up. The boys have been working so hard and they’ve improved so much but now they’re going against the powerhouse school.

The match was exciting, scary and it all played out to be a great game. They all exceeded your expectations and made you proud. During the last said they made a come back and block a spike. It got your team the winning point and no one could believe it. It was a moment in history for the team, you couldn’t hold your excitement.

You kept out of your seat and into Keishin’s arms, kissing him in victory. Well some celebrated some stuff to take a look at you both. Not believing what they were seeing with your own eyes. Old friends finally Letting their true emotions show for one another.

He didn’t dare pull away from you instead he wraps his arms around you and pull you closer. This is the Moment he was waiting for for so long, it felt so right and comforting. He finally had you after so many years in such a long time waiting, you were finally his.

When you pull back you didn’t even acknowledge all the surprised faces. It wa just you and him at this moment. Just by how you kissed him he could tell you had those feelings closed off. Put away for years just like him. He rested his forehead to yours and he whispered

“So...did I finally win you? After all this time?”

You chuckle “I guess so, even though I’ve been waiting for years” you peck his lips.

As cute as levi is, he makes the most HORRIFIC facial expressions sometimes. Eyes a little too wide, smile too big, showing too many teeth and too much gum. Creepy smiles Bug eyed looks and wrinkled noses. He doesnt mean too, but he forgets what he looks like sometimes.

Levi is blind in one eye if you haven’t noticed! He lost it in a fight! A sword fight!

Has a really fucking weird accent i wont even attempt to write but will try to at least describe

Levis is old, very very old, he’s two-thousand and some change. So he can bypass some of the things younger vampires cant. He can daywalk for a few hours without protection BUT all day with protection ie: sun hat or umbrella. He can turn into mist and bats and a wolf creature. He can have his head cut off and still live. He can regenerate limbs. But things that still get him are the laws of hospitality. He must be invited, he must treat his guests with respect and feed them, water them, ya know treat them well.

Levi LOVES dogs! He gets one any chance he has and has an extensive record of every dog hes ever owned. When levi and svetza go out, levi is the buffer for dogs. Dogs seem to dislike svetza on some level she can not fathom. (Or some dogs at least) Dogs however flock to levi in droves and become instant babies in his presence.

Levi sleeps in a large four poster coffin bed. Its a queen sized bed shaped like a coffin with four posters, heavy light blocking curtains, and its very cozy!

Levi has family. Lots and lots of family. Hes kept a record of his entire family. He knows everyone and sends them letters and gifts on hollidays. Everyone in the family knows about levi but not exactly who and what he is and what hes about. Hes just that one really weirdly supportive uncle /cousin that shows up to familyreunions. Like the family isnt even sure how they are related but they know they are. He keeps track of marriages and births and deaths. Anytime anyone if the family needs to know their genealogy they ask weird cousin/uncle levi. Only a few memebers of the family know what he is really. Others know but dont believe. Some suspect and the others joke about it. Levis home (an old castle) is filled with family photos and such. It just fills me with joy to imagine that instead of mourning the fact that everyone you love dies while you live on as a vampire, he just sees it as an opportunity to keep track of his family and history! He even takes in family memebers when they need a place to stay. So its not uncommon for him to have random members of his super extended family living with him.

Garlic also isnt a deterrent. Garlic is just...stinky. Really really stinky. But he likes the stinky.

hes always cool to the touch so he LOVES warm stuff. Hand warmers, sunny days, warm rocks, warm people, hot drinks or foods.

But his favorite days are sunless because then he can go out without a hat and umbrella!

Levi is extra about his fashion! He wears all sorts of fashion, the man is two thousand years old and has CHOICES! Levi really loves the grungy garage punk and jock with crop top n booty shorts looks. At home he wears booty shorts and crop tops to lounge in. Sleeps in a night shirt thats really just an oversized tshirt dress he got at a thrift shop. He will wear a dress. He gives zero fucks.

Levi loves kitchy vampire shit! Novels, Movies, games, costume, Decorations, ect! He ADORES THEM! He thinks its fun and creative and likes all the lore people come up with! They even get facts right sometimes!

Holy items dont work on him at all! Especially crosses because “Oh yes, a jewish man hung on a torture device would be PLEASED to see them used to symbolize peace and love. My coming out story is weird, it gets a lil transphobic so tw near the end tw long post too

So, pretty much throughout my time growing up through elementary school and half of middle school, i grew up in a white middle class area. I didnt know about the LGBTQ+ or anything other than what I saw, which was white people and an occasional poc. Eventually I had to move and I ended up in a super diverse area, and ended up becoming best friends with this person (they are ftm now so imma use the right pronouns but they were f when this story mostly takes place) he told me all about things I didnt know, specifically the LGBTQ+ community and that he was pan, and it was new information so just like any 13 year old learning new things, I questioned myself, I questioned if I could like the same sex or not or possibly more.

Sadly, drama happened between my best friend, his girlfriend and I, so thing got a little weird. But there was a time in winter, when he was off that relationship for more than a month and he said he'd like to date me, and I really thought about it before hand and said yeah, I couldnt tell you how happy I was to have this experience.

I told my mom that night, in a round about way cuz I was nervous, "Hey mom, what if I liked girls?" She told me she doesnt think that I do, because I always expressed feelings for guys, and when I tell her I didnt really understand what being gay was when I was younger, I didn't really know it was a possibility. She snapped at me and said, "Unless you are willing to kiss a girl and do the other stuff, you arent gay at all."

Eventually I have a sit down conversation with her, about how confusing this all was and how I wish I knew how I felt, and so on. She said she had a similar questioning phase but it never stuck so she doesnt think I am.

Like a month later I figure it out and dude that was so gratifying. I came out as bi to my mom, who just dismissed the whole thing, but I was terrified to tell my uncle (it's a long story about that, no it's not "sweet home Alabama") because he always said bi's were wh*res so yeah. I ended up telling him, and he goes, "You know my opinion on it but that doesnt mean that I'll disown you or anything." Btw the relationship (dating wise) with my best friend after he came out as ftm because he went back to his ex, it's all cool tho.

So that was that, or so I thought. It was my first year of high school, and I finally really understood the definition of pan, what was holding me back though was the trans experience, I thought because I didnt know what it was like, I couldnt be pan, even though I didnt have a preference, turns out it just means you like people no matter their gender and it like, clicked finally so yeah. I've told my family about that since but I a similar reaction: my mom said she doesnt think I am and she lectured me on my generation having so many labels and how she hated it. My uncle said he appreciated that I was pan more than me being bi which confused me but he just had a better view of pansexual than bisexual. (I explained to both of them what the difference was but idk man)

I believe it was my second year of high school when I really started to question my gender, and that was mostly because I saw a video of what gender dysphoria looks like if it's not that strong and you arent aware for ftm. So like wearing bagging clothes all the time, always wearing sports bras, and practically no other bra, feeling really good if someone accidentally calls you sir, etc. And I was like, oml it's me. But it wasnt, I didnt find that out until later tho. So, with my friend group, I find a name that seems to fit me well and ask them to address me by it and he/him pronouns, as like a test of sorts. (All of my friends are gay in some way so it was cool) In the end tho, I got a little iffy about the whole thing and wouldnt ever correct them at times or it was just off for me. I felt really bad because I thought that they might have thought that I was just trying to force myself to be more like them, but I wasnt, i still felt bad though and kinda dropped it.

I'm not sure 100% how I figured it out tho, but I remember talking to my best friend (not the same one from middle school, they were my best friend as well but they arent the same person) about the whole experience and I believe they brought up the idea of genderfulid, and I was like :0.... what that. They explain it, you go aall over the gender spectrum, some days you might feel like a boy, others you might feel like you have no gender, some days you might feel like your gender is something completely weird and different, that's just what it is. And I was like, "It fits but like, I barely feel femme at any point in time, maybe like once a year." And they tell me, that's ok and stuff as long as my gender just decides to be a completely weird and went all over the place, it counted, so I was like, "I finally figured it out!!!" And i was so happy.

Then came the time I was comfortable enough to tell my parents. I had been using the label genderfuild for over half a year already and I thought that it was what I was so it was ok to tell them. I saw how ok me being gay went, so I was nervous but not as nervous as I should have been, probably. I told my mom first, she went on a similar rant of her no liking my generations labels and such, but it went fine, I explained it, I thought I was through, I thought I was fine, apparently not. One day I'm in the shower and I hear my mom being very expressive with what ever shes talking about to my uncle, which is fine, she needs someone to vent to sometimes. When I get out though, and I can here her clearly, I hear sees complaining about what I told her recently, that I'm genderfulid, but instead of saying that, she only says I want to be a boy. (Oh no) So shes complaining to him, asking why I cant be more like her and just be a masculine girl and be fine, why do I have to fit in with the crowd of my generation to feel special, why cant I just be fine with who I am now? Etc.

The sad thing is, that night, I was going out shopping for pants and underwear with my uncle because I needed some and I wore men's pants already at that point, because they are more durable, and stuff so I knew it was gonna be a long ride. My mom was snippy with me that whole night, just the entire time which sucked.

When we finally left to go get clothes though, I didnt know it could get worse. My uncle lectured me about how that's just my generations fad, and how his was making tattoos and piercings ok in the work place and mine is being trans a gay and all that crap, and that I'm just trying to fit in, I'm not being myself, no matter how much I chop myself up and cut my hair and take hormones my chromosomes will never change and so I can never be an actual guy. He also said that I would bring just more attention to myself being a woman who does guy things rather than try and be one, and he thinks I'm doing this all for attention. I was mad but silent at this point, I didnt want to cause anything to happen. He ended up asking me, "So did you pick a different name?" I was surprised but I said yeah, and my friends were using it and it seemed to fit better. He asked me what it was and fear over took my body. I told him, "I'll only tell you if you dont use it against me if your mad." He says, "i cant promise that." And then gets mad because I wont tell him. Though I do, because I feel obligated since hes buying me clothes. To be even more confusing, he buys me guys underwear, and undershirts along with the predetermined pants he promised me and now I'm so confused.

But it gets even worse. When we get home, my mom freaks out on him because be bought me all that mens stuff and she said he was encouraging my behavior and stuff, he defended with it's just clothes, and yah it is. Eventually things settle down, obviously my mom isnt talking to be, but that's for the best at this point. I'm in the living room with my uncle and he just then starts harassing me with questions like, how do you know? he asks. "Well, I just feel that way, same as you." I say. But why do you wanna be a guy? he asks. "I dont wanna be a guy, it's just weird that way. Also it's not me being a guy, it me being many more than that," I say. He says that's bullsh*t. I offer to show him videos that better explain what trans is and how it's an actual sciencey thing and stuff but he said he wont take a video because he wants me to say it. And then he just goes off, saying the name I picked out shows how self centered I am because I am selfish, he kept asking me if i liked to fight, to catch and play with bugs, to be strong, to be angry all the time, and all these stereotypes for men and I just left, and went to bed. He wasnt going to listen to me, so there wasnt a point to me staying.

But, it gets worse. The morning comes and I'm awoken by the slam of my door by my uncle and the laughter of my mom. My uncle starts being really aggressive and starts cleaning my room, I only have clothes on the floor mostly so that's all it was, but he starts saying, well if you're gonna be a man, imma start training you like one, the man of the house picks up after everyone, the man of the house does everything he can to help the house run smoothly, the man of the house has to be strong, and all that stuff. (Which I thought was funny because he was "the man of the house" yet I did everything, and still do. I clean up most after him, funny huh.) And, I know what's happening and so I stay in bed, I don't want this to happen. But I literally get ripped out of my bed by my uncle and get told to stop being a little b*tch and a brat because I'm being selfish by my mom and I'm yelled at to sit in the living room and wait while my uncle cleans my room. When hes done hes starts lecturing me and being all aggressive and in my face. He keeps asking me a million questions with the tone that he didnt care so I knew he wouldn't listen. Eventually, him and my mom leave, I'm told to stay there until I get back. When they do get back, they act like everything is fine, nothing happened between them and I and it's just been so hard for me to talk to them about that since.

I'm greatful that I dont have to deal with that anymore but every time something that that is brought up with my family, I panic so much now. I'm fine and I'm safe but it was very traumatic for me. And uh, thanks for listening.

Mingyu has this faint memory of a boy with dark, shaggy hair running around at the park him and his father used to go to. He would always be wearing his backpack, obvious to everyone that he came straight here after school, and would be chasing butterflies or catching ladybugs.

On one of the days where Mingyu’s dad would throw the ball a little too far to teach the boy how to jump up and catch, it rolled away and landed in front of a pair of scuffed sketchers.

“Hey, sorry!” Mingyu remembers saying, cheeks red from chasing the ball down. His father is standing a distance away behind him, one hand shielding his eyes from the sun and the other on his hip.

“S’accident,” the other mutters shyly, bending down to pick up the baseball.

Mingyu loved to make friends as a child which is why the next thing out of his mouth is “I’m Mingyu! Kim Mingyu!” The other boy’s front tooth is missing and he remembers that because he peaks his tongue peaks out through the gap.

He cocks his head to the side, a sly smile creeping across his cheeks. “Names Jungkook, Jeon Jungkook! But my sister is only four and she doesn’t know how to say it so she calls me Kookie.”

“My dad calls me Gyu,” Mingyu laughed. “He only calls me Mingyu is when I’m in trouble.”

“Well Gyu,” Jungkook hands him back the ball. “You must be joining the little league, huh?”

“Little league?” Mingyu raised his eyebrows.

“Yeah!” Jungkook’s eyes were wide with excitment. “My brother has this kid in his class named Ten—like the number—and he asked Wonwoo hyung if he wanted to play but he’d rather stay inside so he told me to come play with the kids my age but I dunno how to play since my dad’s always busy and hyung hates sports since he’s kinda lazy and slow like a sloth and—“

“You talk a lot,” Mingyu smiled. He liked that. His dad always called him a motor mouth because he could talk his ear off and at five, he thought it’d be fun to have someone to keep up with him. “Wanna come play with me and my dad?”

“Uh, duh!” Jungkook jumped up, racing Mingyu to the older man, who had resided under the oak tree with a bottle of water.

From that Friday on, Jungkook would play baseball with Mingyu and his dad. They later joined the little league baseball team together (though that only lasted one season before Mingyu decided soccer was more of his thing).

Now, every time Mingyu comes back to this park, he can’t help but think of Jeon Jungkook, the boy with kind eyes and a bright smile.

Mingyu still has fond memories of Jungkook whenever he comes to this park. Though, they’re a bit fuzzy around the edges, he stil finds himself laughing at all of their mishaps and hiccups that took place on this grass. And every time he looks at Pumpkin, he cant help but see his face.

“And then Jungkook hit a home run and Yugyeom and I smashed cupcakes in his face to celebrate,” Mingyu whispers to the girl who sits a distance away from him.

Her face is blank, eyes unreadable. Mingyu scans the bags under her eyes and the way her brows have furrowed and thinks “When did Hobag get the chance to grow up?”

He still remembers when she was a kid. When she’d come to all of Jungkook’s baseball games and hearing her scream for “Kookie” or ask “Nu” to take her to buy some snacks at the concessions stands. He still remembers her being a freshman in high school and how she and Seungkwan would trail after him and Wonwoo with whispered secrets and wild ideas for the four of them to partake in.

He still remembers the last day he saw her. The day that he was too coward to say goodbye to her and Wonwoo and left on the train earlier than they knew. He remembers the ignored calls and texts and how they soon fizzled out to every day to every couple of days to once a week until they finally stopped.

He doesn’t deserve this.

“The other night,” she whispers as if she could read Mingyu’s mind, “I had a dream.” She runs her finger over the polaroid. Mingyu realizes then that this is the first time she’s seen Jungkook’s face since she was 12. How cruel is this life? “In the dream, I hit a home run. The following day,” she flashes the picture in Mingyu’s direction, “you find this.”

It’s a sign, Mingyu knows that’s what she’s thinking.

“I’m not going to ask you why you left the way you did. It’s been five years and I spent way too much time stressing over it — especially since you welcomed Seungkwan with open arms. That dream...had to be mean something.” She runs her fingers through her hair and shakes her head. “It had to be a sign from Jungkook.”

“Hobag,” Mingyu whispers as he sees the tears spring from her eyes. “I am so sorry—“

“I told you,” she wipes her tears away a bit too harshly with her sleeve. “I don’t want to hear it.” Mingyu frowns and nods, leaning back onto the oak tree. “I don’t forgive you for what you did, Mingyu. I don’t forgive you for hurting my brother,” she shakes her head. “But...before I went to bed that night, I asked Jungkook to send me a sign on what I should do next.” Her eyes rake over the picture once more before she says, “And I guess that means to let you back in.”

“You don’t have to,” Mingyu whispers. “I fucked up, Hobag. I didn’t know what I was thinking and I’m sorry but—“

“I told you I don’t want to hear it,” the younger groans.

“But I am,” he says.

“Mingyu,” she breathes, looking up at him with tears in her eyes. “Have you learned nothing? Life is too short to be angry.”

Mingyu feels dizzy at her words.

That night. The last words between Jungkook and Wonwoo. The fire.

“I’ll be here now,” Mingyu tells her. “I promise.” He finally crosses the boundaries and pulls her into a hug, her tears finally flowing freely.

“I miss him,” she hiccups into his chest.

“Me too,” Mingyu frowns. “I miss them both. So much.”

They stay like that until all of their cheeks are dry and Mingyu wipes away the last tear. He smiles sadly at her, chuckling when he remembers just how much of a crier she was when they were younger.

“If someone told me last week I’d be doing this again, I would’ve laughed in their face,” Mingyu says as he swipes his sleeve under her eyes one last time.

“I would’ve passed out,” she snorts.

Mingyu leans back onto the oak tree again and sighs. It’s chilly outside and it’s dark out. “Isn’t Wonwoo going to look for you?” he asks.

“Seungcheol is over right now. They’re making amends,” she explains.

“Seungcheol?” Mingyu’s eyes are closed now, listening to the wind as it whistles past him.

“He’s one of Wonwoo’s best friends. Seungcheol had a fall out with their third friend Jeonghan and it made Wonwoo upset. Last I checked, they were cuddling so,” she shrugs even though Mingyu can’t see.

“Jeonghan?” he opens his eyes. “Is that the guy you were with in town?”

She furrows her brows, looking at him with confusion before she remembers the day he’s referring to. “So I did see you then!” He shrugs and closes his eyes again. “Gyu, you were here this entire time and you didn’t even tell Seungkwan?”

“I needed some time to think,” he says simply. “Is Jeonghan your boyfriend?”

“What?” she sputters. “What makes you— EW! You think I’m dating Yoon Jeonghan?”

“Oh?” Mingyu smirks as he realizes he’s successfully changed the subject. “Then maybe it’s Vernon? Woozi said he writes a bunch of songs about you.”

“Mingyu!” she smacks his arm. “I’m leaving. I almost forgot how annoying you were.”

She stands to her feet and brushes off blades of grass, ready to stomp off when Mingyu stops her again with the sound of his voice.

“The lanterns,” he says. She turns to him just as he stands. “Are you still making three?”

“Just because you weren’t here doesn’t mean we won’t make your dad a lantern,” she crosses her arms.

Mingyu isn’t surprised. Well, maybe that’s because he’s had a couple of days to simmer into the fact that they still visit his late father’s grave. But, it still makes him smile — even if he feels sad inside.

The lanterns started on the first anniversary of Jungkook’s death.

Jungkook had always been in love with the stars and could name thirty constellations before he could do long division. Because of this, the Jeon family would make lanterns and send them off on his anniversary. When Mingyu became a part of their friend group, he and Seungkwan would each make one for his dad and send it off with them.

“Do you think—“

“I’ll talk to Wonwoo,” she cuts him off. “But you have to remember that this time of year is super hard for him, Gyu.”

He nods. It’s totally understandable. If your best friend just up and left you without a word— “Did you just call me Gyu?”

“That’s your name, isn’t it?” she says, turning on her heel.

“You only call me Gyu whenever you’re not mad at me,” he says. Pumpkin doesn’t turn around this time. Instead, she keeps walking until he comes to his senses. “Wait! Hobag! I’ll give you a ride! Dammit, slow down! I can’t believe it’s been five years and we’re still having this argument! You can’t go home by yourself you could get robbed—“

And she keeps walking, feeling at ease for the first time in a very long time.

Chapter Ten: Not Enough

Summary: If home is where the heart is, then the hearts of Kim Mingyu and the Jeon siblings must lie within the stars. Maybe that’s why the always feel so out of place. Maybe that’s why Mingyu left town and never turned back. Maybe that’s why the Jeon siblings can’t leave this town. Maybe this time, the stars will align and things might start actually making sense.

Y/N was on the floor of her room, doing her AP Biology homework. She inhaled heavily as she put the work down. Even though she knew the answers, she wasn’t in the mood for science. She wasn’t like her brother, she didn’t want to major in science. Who the hell wants to major in science. Mrs. Finch was aware of Y/N’s disregard for science and always tried to push the girl to do her best, but Y/N couldn’t focus in that class. It was as if, the second she stepped into the classroom her brain shuts off. Grabbing her notebook, she stood up and walked across the hall to Scott’s room. Not bothering to knock she opened the door and there was Scott making out with Kira. Y/N slammed the door shut, “Sorry!” She yelled through the door. “Can I have the bio homework answers? Please?!” She called through the door, “No! Leave us alone!” Scott yelled back, Y/N groaned loudly as she walked back to her room. She suddenly felt deja vu, back to when Scott told her no to giving the answers to the homework Mr. Harris had assigned. That was the night Isaac started staying with the McCalls. Y/N trudged back into her room, she felt defeated, of course Scott felt the need to not share the science homework. She walked into her bedroom and jumped when she saw Isaac standing in front of her window. There was a thunderstorm outside and the water coming off Isaac’s body was starting to drip into Y/N’s rug. “What’s going on? Are you okay?” Y/N walked closer to her boyfriend, his eyes were red and she couldn’t tell if the water under his eyes were from crying or the rain. “I- I- I just- I’m sorry…” Isaac’s voice was shaking and he was visibly shaking. “Come here…” Y/N had him follow her to the bathroom, she turned the shower on and made it warm, running her hand under it making sure she didn’t burn herself. “In you go…” She said as she grabbed the door handle. “Wait-“ Isaac grabbed her forearm lightly, “Please don’t leave.” “Isaac, I’m not-“ “Please.” “Okay.” It’s not like they haven’t seen each other naked, this was no big deal. They could both feel the warm water running down their bodies. Isaac was still shaking and his eyes started to water. Y/N pulled him into a hug, their chests were pressed together. While Isaac had rested his head on hers, he ran his hand through her hair. “What happened?” Y/N asked with a small voice, drawing small shapes on his muscular back. “Derek kicked me out. He threw a glass at my head. I’m sorry, I just had no where to go and I was scared.” Isaac’s breathing was slowly becoming normal again. Y/N was aware of his life of abuse from his father, she was angry at Derek. He knew about the abuse too. Why would he do that? The two got out of the shower and went back to Y/N’s room. Isaac wrapped his arms around her as she placed her head on his chest. “You can stay here, you know that right?” “Thank you, I love you.” “I love you too… I love you more than anything, I’d walk to the ends of the earth for you.” “As would I." The two slowly drifted to sleep, and Y/N forgot about about Mr. Harris’ stupid homework. “You’re sure you’re okay to go alone?” Kira asked Y/N, the girl just had to run to the library to grab a book for her English class. “Yes, I’ll be fine.” Y/N laughed getting out of the car and walking into the school. It was around 4, all classes were out and almost every student was home. The school doors shut at 5, just when sports end and the custodians come out to clean the floors. Walking into the library, Y/N saw that there was no librarian, weird. She walked down the aisles, scanning for the last name of the author. She eventually found the book and was about to start making her way to the check out counter when a hard shoulder bumped into hers, making her stumble a little. “Asshole.” Y/N muttered, making the boy turn around. Just her luck, of course it was none other than Theo Raeken. Theo was possibly one of her least favorite people on this planet. They knew each other around 4th grade, until he moved away after the death of his sister. The two didn’t get along at 9 years old, how were they supposed to get along now? She didn’t trust him… at all. She had this itch telling her that he wasn’t good, she saw the glares he gave her brother. “What’d you say?” He snarled at her, “Oh, I think you heard me perfectly.” Y/N’s eyes narrowed, she could see anger building up within Theo. “Would you like to say it again?” He took a step closer to her, “Just leave me alone.” She rolled her eyes and turned around to walk away. Before she could even take one step, Theo’s hand was wrapped around her wrist. The strength he got from being a werewolf were used to his advantage as she could practically feel the bruise already starting to form. “Let go of me.” Y/N stared blankly, he wanted a rise out of her, she wasn’t going to give it to him. “Tell me what you said.” Y/N stayed quiet. “You know, Y/N, You’ve always gotten on my nerves… whose stopping me from killing you right here.” “You wouldn’t dare.” Y/N seethed. “Would I?” “Scott’s your alpha, you’d be killed in the matter of days.” “Do you want to test that theory? And I don’t have an alpha.” Theo spat, his grip on her wrist tightened. Y/N visibly flinched. “Let me go, Theo.” “Watch your back.” He spoke with gritted teeth as he let go of her wrist and pushed her. “You’re an asshole.” She spoke again. She felt a burning sensation on her left cheek. Theo Raeken had slapped her. He turned his back to her and started to walk away. Y/N felt something come over her, it was a mixture of pain and anger. Without even thinking of the consequences, Y/N shoved Theo’s shoulders with all of her strength. He stumbled forwards a bit, before turning around to face her. He had a sickening smirk on his face, his eyes glowing yellow. He started to walk towards her, like a predator about to pounce on his prey. Before he got the chance to do anything worse than slap her, he was thrown onto his back. The McCall sister couldn’t get a look at who had tackled him. All she saw was brown hair and claws. The second werewolf was on top of Theo, tearing him to shreds. The winces of pain from Theo were all Y/N could hear. Her eyes were wide, when Theo got up and ran out of the Library. The mystery werewolf still had his back turned to her. When he turned around, it was the last person she would’ve expected to see. Isaac Lahey stood before her. This boy was her first kiss, her first love, her first heart break. Her brown eyes met his crystal blue ones. She could remember the night he left perfectly. Y/N and Isaac were stood on Y/N’s porch. Mr. Argent was sitting in his car, packed with everything he needed. Allison was dead. Y/N’s first real best friend (other than Stiles) was dead. Isaac was leaving. Allison was dead and Isaac was leaving. He said it was something about starting fresh. When Mr. Argent asked him to come with him, Isaac felt as if it was the best choice. He wasn’t thinking about how much he would hurt Y/N. He was thinking about getting away from her. “This is the best way to protect her.” Allison’s father had told him, and he believed him. "I love you more than anything, I’d walk to the ends of the earth for you.” Isaac told her before kissing the top of her head. Y/N watched the car drive off, Isaac left. He was going to France. France. He left her, and went to France. “As would I.” Y/N whispered as the tears fell down her cheeks. “No- no you, you can’t. This isn’t real- You’re not-“ Y/N stuttered out. He was right in front of her. After a year of trying to get over him, he came back, right when she was almost completely over him. He took a step towards her, which she returned with a step backwards. Isaac looked the same, yet different. He got taller, and his structure was built more. His eyes were still the same blue as ever. “Why are you here?” Y/N asked cold-heartedly, the book she was going to check out was laying faced down on the floor of the library. "I love you more than anything, I’d walk to the ends of the earth for you.” He gave a small smile, even his voice got deeper. “No! No, you don’t get to leave and not talk to me for a year, then come back and say that bullshit.” Y/N was hurt, she was angry. The two teenagers stood in between the book shelves, about 4 feet away from each other. “What is taking so long- oh” Kira spoke, stopping at the aisle they were in. “Isaac? Ruby, what is he doing here?” Kira asked. Ruby didn’t respond, she didn’t even look at her, she just continued to stare at Isaac. As if she stared for too long, he would turn into stone. A small part of Y/N hoped he did, but he didn’t. “It’s nice to see you too, Kira. Scott’s girlfriend? I always knew there was something there.” Isaac winked. “What?!” Y/N almost yelled, facing Isaac completely now. “How do you know about Kira? Oh my God, have you been talking to Scott?” Y/N could feel the tears brimming in her eyes. “I’ll be in the car…” Kira almost sprinted back to her car, she could feel the tension in the air. She remembered how heart broken Ruby was when Isaac left, and she didn’t want to get into that drama again. “How long have you been talking to him?” “Ever since I left. I didn’t mean to- I wanted you to move on.” Isaac could feel an itch in his throat, but he didn’t want to cry. But Y/N looked different. Not bad, but different. Her face got skinnier, and her hair got longer. “I cant believe-“ Y/N stopped herself short, because she started to choke on her words. “It was you? You’re the eyes I’ve been seeing.” Isaac nodded, “I wanted to run into your room the night I saw you with the lighter. But, I couldn’t, I didn’t want you to see me… like at all.” “Who else knows you’re here?” “No one, except Chris Argent.” “You do realize this is like stalking. You were like stalking me…” “No! I didn’t mean fro it to be like that, I just- I missed you. I needed to see you. When that werewolf was going to attack you when you were walking from Stiles’ house, I couldn’t let it. And just now, when that guy, Theo? He was going to hurt you. More than he already did,” Isaac gestured to the almost purple mark on her wrist and the red mark on her cheek. “I just couldn’t let him.” Y/N felt a pit in her stomach, she felt like she was going to throw up. She couldn’t control her legs from walking to him. She wrapped her arms around Isaac’s neck and he wrapped his around her waist. They were holding each other so tight, it felt like they were going to mold as one. "I love you more than anything, I’d walk to the ends of the earth for you.” Y/N whispered, she could taste the salty tears that ran down her face. Tears had slipped down Isaac’s cheeks too, “As would I."
