If i see one more person call Sophie mutha fuckin Elizabeth Foster a "marry sue" or diss her in any way I'm going to lose my shit.
You don't have to like her but don't talk about her god damn character if you ain't even know it. Like are you even reading the book? DO YOU UNDERSTAND HER AT ALL?
Homegirl has been through a lot, even before Fitz basically ripped her life by the roots and tossed her into a new world without warning.
How about you fucking think what your life would look like if you had thought constantly blaring into your mind, being bullied because you're too "smart" or stupid shit like being a geek. Imagine hearing how your family REALLY thinks about you, all. The. Fucking. Time.
Imagine being so scared to stand out more than you already do that your whole fashion and personality is shaped around being bland and boring. Imagine only having a damn cat to comfort you because you couldn't hear it's thoughts (which in actuality she probably did which I'll talk about later).
Imagine a cute guy changes your world, you get new parents and then they cancel the adoption, then you get fucking KIDNAPPED. WITH YOUR ONLY FRIEND ON TOP OF THAT.
Survive almost dying right after being kidnapped and realize you have more abilities that make you stand out EVEN MORE IN A WORLD THAT YOUR SUPPOSEDLY SUPPOSED TO FIT PERFECTLY IN WITH.
Then over the course of the next three years have your friends risk their lives after you BEGGED AND PLEADED WITH THEM TO NOT BE STUPID. On top of all that, y'know all the ADULTS trying to kill you and the "actually good guys" telling you to be a leader (but actually just need you as a damn puppet), you have normal teenage drama?
4 FUCKING YEARS OF TRAUMA AND GUILT AND DEATH AND DESTRUCTION. AND Y'ALL CALL HER A DAMN MAREY SUE AND SHES "so basic" OR "she's kinda bratty" OR, OH THIS ONES JUST SO FUCKING GREAT! "She risks all her friends lives"
Y'all. I swear. Don't talk about a character if you can't even BEGIN to understand them.
You don't gotta like em, but don't you DARE try to talk about em like you know em. Ugh.
Anyways, #sophiedeservessomeloveandtherapy!

i have compassion for Fitz Vacker in the same way I have compassion for Child stars in Hollywood.
He is perceived as a living dream, while he exists in a nightmare that people have so little understanding and empathy for. There's a level to him that is fundamentally unrelatable to most. He has no perceived lacking. At least, not when you're taking in the situation at face-value.
And this^ way of seeing him is fundamentally isolating. It strips him of depth and realness, and it makes him into an image to ascribe ideas and false perceptions onto. A blank canvas to project all of your worst insecurities . After all, He's not real- it doesn't hurt him, right? In fact, it's trendy among the lower class to dislike him. If you aren't obsessed with him to the point of a parasocial relationship, then you resent him. He cannot struggle or have any issues whatsoever because the perception of what luxury is, is so powerful.
This is reflected in the way Dex saw the Vacker's in books 1 and 2. It's reflected in the fandom's inability to empathize with Fitz is any way shape or form (at least on Pinterest/YouTube/Instagram)
He's socialized more around adults than his peers, because of the idea of giftedness and notoriety. Which just puts him on a higher pedestal, and makes him a larger target to hate among kids his age.
He is known, but he is not known. If anyone pursues him as a friend, it is for the sake of making connections and being popular. It's disingenuous. It's to use him as a stepping stool on a rapid rise to fame. to exploit him for personal gain. His trust issues don't come from nowhere, after all.
He had one friend his entire childhood. and what do you know? It's a kid who is trying so hard to outrun the exploitation of his dad's dreams and wishes for him.
Sure, Fitz's parents are present in his life, but they can only mitigate so much of the outside world before it starts seeping right through the walls of their home.
I just think it would be so strange to have so many people barely know you and either obsess over you to the point that you are more fantasy than reality, or resent you so much that you can't say a word without hearing some snide comment in response. And to know that NONE of it is real. None of these people know you.
Fitz's family obviously represents a really big issue in society. Because Dex, Sophie etc... they are RIGHT, that the standards of their world aren't fair. They are right to call it out. They are right to have anger towards the 'upper class' who does nothing to help the lower class. It's understandable. and it's far more relatable than Fitz's situation. but the thing is, shame is shame. and scorn is scorn.
the upper class may whisper. But the lower class does too.
and that's just it. Therein lies the issue with the lost cities.
IT"S NO ONES CHOICE. It was not Dex's choice to born into a bad match marriage, it was not Keslar and Juline's choice to be born in a world where a system like mathmaking even exists. It wasn't their choice to have triplets. But it also wasn't their choice to raise them in a society that hates them.
But no more was it Fitz's choice to be born a Vacker. No more was it his choice that his parents happened to be a good match. It's not his choice to be born into a society where that stuff matters. He's a kid.
But because he represents something at face value that people tend to hate, he is undeserving of compassion when compared to a character like Dex. Fitz is dismissed and disliked because he represents something about their society, even though he's a child who has no real way to combat what generations older than him have enforced.
He is the vessel that is easy to target and to hate, because people need to find someone to blame. Even if that person technically has not contributed in any way to the thing that the people wish to destroy.
and it can only cause resentment to build between the two classes.
Idk man the perception of Fitz Vacker will forever have my head spinning.

I don't think Greek Mythology retellings/adaptions/inspired/etc. are necessarily "evil"...but I DO think people REALLY need to understand that there's a huge difference between the actual mythology and certain media.
I feel like people have to basically do a "Fandom ___" to say the different versions. Like "PJO ___", "Hades game ___", "TSOA ___". For it to be understood that these depictions are DIFFERENT. I'm saying this as someone who grew up reading PJO and still has a soft spot for it. But as someone who really loves Greek Mythology as well, I sometimes get really SAD.
I'm going to use the comparison of Howl's Moving Castle with it's Book Vs. Movie. I enjoy both!!! But they are honestly very different. In the movie there is no "sister swap", Markle isn't a young teenager, Sophie doesn't throw weed killer at Howl, and many more moments. But I enjoy both because even though there are changes they still keep components that are ingrained into the characters!
In some Greek Myth retellings/adaptations/stories/etc., characters are...SO different from the source material. That's fine...Choose what you want with your story... But folks should know that the modern adaptations are NOT the source material!!!
It bothers me that a lot of these wonderful myths and stories are twisted up and seen so differently because of a modern version of them. You can have that character be "awful" or a certain way in your story. But I almost feel that as fans, it's not good to generalize them or see it as "This is the truth". People are hating the mythological figure when it's only in that interpretation they are like that.
In PJO, Ares is "Zeus' favorite", isn't a good dad, a misogynist, etc. The actual myths? One of his Epithets is LITERALLY "Feasted by Women", in the Iliad everybody basically bullies him with Zeus literally saying he hates him. He cries when he learns one of his sons is killed in the war. He literally kills someone about to rape his daughter. Ares isn't perfect but it makes me sad with how he's viewed and talked about when it's only in PJO he's like that. Same with Dionysus. Read the Bacchae, you'll love it.
In Lore Olympus, Apollo rapes Persephone (noticing the fact that modern takes on the myths add rapes where there never were hmmmmm) when he never did in any of the myths.
In TSOA, Thetis is cruel when in the Iliad, she is such a loving mother to Achilles. She grieved alongside her son over Patroclus. Also with Agamemnon. In Ipheginia at Aulis, Agamemnon is a MESS. He adored his children.
In Circe, Odysseus is viewed as a selfish man who ONLY hurts others and doesn't care about his family when that is LITERALLY his one consistent character trait. HE is actually the one who is the victim of rape. Circe was never raped.
Medusa is only a victim in Ovid's, a Roman man, works. Not in GREEK mythology. She was just a cool monster. Leave Perseus alone. Poseidon and Medusa actually had a consensual relationship in Greek Mythology!
These adaptations/retellings/inspired by/etc. whatever anybody wants to call them, are not the real myths! They may be similar in some ways but to just generalize them or hate the deity/mythological figure because of something they did in the new media feels fucked up!
You can enjoy these new stories. There's nothing wrong with that!!! But know they're not the real myths. Maybe even label it as "I hate ____'s version of ____". As that makes it clear what version you're talking about.

Sansa and Alicent cannot be compared word for word, or every single way, but acting as if there aren't similarities between show alicent and sansa is just laughable, and acting as if both don't face the same amount of violet fandom misogyny, and that their actresses aren't getting abused and harassed by the fandom, is also absurd (because sophia, olivia, and emily all have spoken about fandom abuse and harassment).
Both alicent and sansa are victims, were groomed, were abused by their husbands, etc. both were viritually alone and used as pawns, and both did whatever they could do to keep themselves and their families safe.
that doesn't make them perfect, or flawless and i think a lot of their antis have this idea that if an abuse victim isn't perfect then she isn't a victim (and emphasis on the abused being a woman, because if sansa and alicent were men, this wouldn't even be an issue). sansa was bratty when she was younger according to fans and obsessed with joffery, so therefore she deserved the abuse he gave her, and deserved to be 'humbled' by ramsay.
alicent, who was a minor and who was pimped out by her father and groomed by a man much older than her is apparently throwing a temper tantrum when she snaps because of her abuse and when her son was almost killed (by people who started a fight with him for righftully claiming a dragon, and two of those were his bullies).
Because alicent and sansa aren't the 'perfect' victims, because they're flawed and act out, then they aren't given any respect, sympathy or understanding.
So what gets me upset is that targ/team black/dany stans tend to act as if they loved sansa all along and that she nor sophie ever got any hate. the way a lot of them are pulling a 'we LOVE sansa she's not like that bitch alicent!' is super shitty because now, all of a sudden, misogyny that sansa and alicent fans have been discussing doesn't exist anymore, because that side of the fandom picks and choose when to care about misgoyny.
and in this case, they pretend to care about the abuse sansa/sophia got to further abuse alicent and olivia.

regarding your update about rat (I love how you tag him) it was blind that rat cheated with some model or fan on tour, she was in her twenties or so and then a few days later first there were rumors of a divorce and then officially divorced. So maybe joe cheated more than once and who knows maybe even with this stormi (or whatever her name is). joe is horrible man, I hate him. And I still don't understand why some fans of joe think that rat won the case? After all, joe lost, as soon as joe and his team started saying that everything would be private, it became clear that rat would lose and Sophie would win, and when it became known that the case was moved to England, it became even more obvious that Sophie won, so everything is like this quietly and undisclosed, if their favorite rat won, he would definitely through his pocket TMZ, through some type of source, inform that these are the conditions and that type joe has a more favorable condition, the rat loves attention and doesn't care about children and their privacy, he would make it public. And since we don't know the details and everything happened quietly and privately, this is how Sophie and her team worked, and this clearly shows that Sophie won. I just can't understand how stupid his fans are. I'm sorry that I wrote so much, I just don't have anyone to talk to about it, and thoughts have accumulated. PS. Sophie looks very beautiful and very happy and glad that the children are around and that Perry supports her. And I'm also glad that she has two upcoming projects (I hope they won't be canceled), especially with Kit, I'm also waiting for Joan (for whom I have high hopes). I hope that everything will only get better and better in Sophie.
Hello anon!
Yeah, with all those rumors, it seems the rat is a serial cheater.
His fans believe he won because they are dumb and the press also mislead dumb people with the headlines, they only highlighted the fact that Sophie dropped her lawsuit against the rat, but they *pretend to be shocked* hide the part that she did that after the case was sent to a UK court, which was precisely what she requested in her lawsuit.
You can message me everytime you want!
I'm so very much glad as well, because Sophie is free from that nasty rat at last.
She's booked and busy, surrounded by her family, her closests friends and her baby girls. And also Perry is there being so sweet with her.
We can only hope the best for Sophie, always.

Happy Halloween! Have some angst!
Little tiny fic ideas that I don't have enough of to write to completion.
Sophie Foster as a Frankenstein's Monster. She's science experiment, born of electricity and hubris, stitched together with parts of dead people, and she belongs to a man who refuses to be anything but her overlord, who sees her as an experiment. There's a part in the novel where Frankenstein's Monster watches this family, from a distance, jealous and hungry for the love he will never get. Sophie is stuck in that moment. She's the created monster, she's something people will never understand, never love, and from them on she's what terrifies children, what keeps them awake at night. And all she is is lonely. It's not her fault she was an experiment. It's not her fault she was created. She never asked for this. She never wanted to be this. Her life is borrowed, her fingers are people's who she's never met, and sometimes she doesn't understand why she was built. just out of pride? Lack of respect? Scientific advancement? To cater to the whims of those who play God over the life they create? She doesn't know. But she's fairly certain there's a reason her heart sounds funny to her own ears.
Fitz Vacker as a werewolf. There is a monster that lurks in his blood, waits, glittering like the full moon, for the perfect moment to spring out and destroy. It's ugly, his parents tell him. He transformed once and killed a man, they say. They can't let him do that. That's why there's chains in the basement and why they lock him up. That's why they're never going to be proud of him. He's always going to be a werewolf. It's the only flaw he has, that once monthly he gets possessed by a bloodthirsty monster. It's the only thing about him that his family hates, he's told, by everyone. Because it's common knowledge, at this point. Every member of his family knows, and they all hate him for it. he's brought disgrace on them all, hasn't he? It's his fault he got bitten. It's his fault he got turned. No matter how hard he tries, he's never going to be good enough. He's never going to be loved enough. He's never going to be accepted. Because every full moon they still lock him up in the basement, and he claws his sharp nails down the floor and over himself to try and get the monster out. He's bleeding, in the morning, as the moon finally wanes, and his mother unlocks the door. She hands him a new pair of clothes, but no bandages. There's some sort of symbolism there, he thinks, as he cleans the gashes he drew on himself, as he wraps the raw wrists that ache and burn with the feeling of chains. There's a symbolism to it, but he can't figure it out.
Keefe Sencen as a ghost. He died a long time ago, and his body was never buried. Maybe it's because no one cared all that much. Keefe hopes it wasn't. He wanders around, moving things in people's houses, turning lights on and off, and hearing them scream and call for a priest to bless their house. He paints on their walls in blue and green, and moves glasses around in the air. He's a prankster of a ghost, he'll admit it, but he's lonely. So lonely. He's not where he's supposed to be. The woman who owns the house is on the phone with an exorcist. He laughs until whispers of tears roll down his cheeks, exhausted and painful. Don't they know that blessing him won't solve anything? He's a ghost, not a demon. He's dead, not alive, and he's crying as a priest finally, finally, prays for the repose of his soul, and the ties of him to his restless body finally loosen. He's going home. Finally.
Linh Song as a Vampire. She's thirsty. All the time, and there's no escape. Animal blood can't satisfy her. Human blood makes her mouth water. She stares at her own brother and wonders if she could ask him for his blood. And she refuses to do it. She's not a murderer. She's not a blood drinker. She swears. She's a good person. But stars, she's wasting away. She's so hungry, so thirsty. It echoes through her body like tremors, like a slight breeze could knock her over. And it hurts, stings her nose with the scent of living, of breathing. She winds up walking through the streets, half in a trance, and she's at the site of an accident. There's blood on the ground, blood dripping down the tree from where the person fell. The person isn't there anymore, but the smell hangs heavy and delicious around her and before she knows what she's doing she's licking the stones, her body shaking and starving even more in response to the first real food it's had in years. And she doesn't cry, even as her nose prickles when she's gotten as much as she can, even when the empty, hollow ache has returned, a thousand times over. She is a good person. She is good. And if that means living in pain for all eternity, that's what that means. Tam hugs her, that night, and she shoves him away. His blood smells too good. She doesn't tell him that. His eyes ache with hurt. She runs to her room, and doesn't come out til the morning.
Dex Dizznee as a witch. He goes to the house of the Vackers, one day, to give Fitz a sort of check up. Fitz snarls that he's fine. Dex pats his head, and Fitz trembles, like he hasn't had anyone touch him in a very long time. Dex gives him a potion to try on his endless scars, and hugs the guy before he leaves. Dex doesn't see the way Fitz covers his face and cries about that tiny hug for the next half hour. He goes to the Song's house, and he finds Tam cursing at their parents. Linh's pale and deathly sick. Dex wonders if they know their daughter is a vampire. He brings it up to her. She flinches. "I don't want to hurt people." He blinks. "What have you been eating?" "Animal blood," she answers, her voice in whispers. "And it's not cutting it." Dex hands her a potion. "This might help. It's a supplement. Should give you more of the nutrients you need. Make it less painful." Linh nods, looking like she might cry, but Dex leaves, after telling her parents she'll be okay and that he gave her a potion to try. He walks home that night and hears something screeching from the depths of the woods. Birds fly up in a cloud. He sighs, wondering what the crazy scientist, Forkle is up to again. He'll have to go check on whatever he's done this time tomorrow. Dex collapses in the chair, and sets up the wards around his house with a wave of his hand. He rubs his face and makes himself some dinner. It's quiet, in his house. But he doesn't mind it.

My feelings are honestly hurt. This woman tried to HUMILIATE him by doing immature shit (at her big ass age) and followed someone he's KNOWN for having issues with and others he may be feeling insecure compared to (cause WTF was even that with poor Timmy and Harry??). Made him out to be an abuser. It irks the fuck out of my soul because it was so disrespectful. Then she wanted to be a weirdo and play in our faces about Sophie when SHE started everything and put that weird as narrative out there in the first place (playing or not, she should have known better) and acted like she didn't know how the world could possibly think that that man was cheating on her and abusing her.
I understand she's considered pretty... But how she dogged him in multiple ways and tried to be cute about it made her so ugly to me. There's so many other beautiful and fascinating and mysterious women out there... Why deal with one who will try to ruin you when y'all hit a bump in the road?
And I'm so irritated cause it's been EST this and EST that from him ... But he's been icing everyone practically ever since he got with her. Then when people wanna scratch their heads and be like what is going on, they're in the wrong and can't question him. But then it sure is EST this again when it comes time to get him somewhere or something he wants.
I hate this. I hate that I do care and that so many took him at his word back at EST FEST 2014 when he said to remind him and don't leave him when he starts slipping.. just to not be listened to.
And you have every right to feel this way. I dont get where people get off policing other people. He even asked EST to personally remind him when he starts to forget, but God forbid someone actually does it. Now it's you're a bad fan, and he's allowed to change. They said the same thing about chantel and sommer until he went on social media acting all sad. Then, suddenly, it was buy one get one free pitchforks.

I would love your thoughts on Bryce 👀 seems like you have a lot
Yes I do 😭
Someone asked me this a couple of weeks ago and I have avoided the question because none of my thoughts about her are good. I was trying to get some distance and today is the day! No offense to anyone who likes her character, I completely respect that.
But to be frank, I don't like Bryce. Pretty much at all.
Bryce feels like she's trying really hard to be Aelin but lacks the courage of her convictions. Hell, Bryce lacks the convictions, too.
It really bums me out that I don't like Bryce because I have always loved sjm's main characters. Aelin? LOML. Feyre? I wish I could be that brave. Nesta? Would love to express myself. Lysandra? I too would like to cut a man someday.
But Bryce???? Ugh, Bryce.
I know what we are supposed to think about her. I know that Bryce is supposed to pretend to be a party girl so that people don't look at her too hard. But why can't they look? It's not like she's doing anything worthwhile that needs to be concealed. I appreciate that Bryce having a good time with her friends is valuable in its own right. I love that she has friends, and I love that she embraces her femininity. I love that we are supposed to take her seriously too, despite the things about her that are supposedly shallow.
But.... I don't take her seriously. She is shallow. I can't take her seriously when she is half human, and still doesn't understand why people would rebel. Not when her mother is treated like shit, and she still doesn't understand why people would rebel. Not when she watches what Hunt experiences being enslaved, when she is objectified and degraded for being human, when Sophie and Emile are hunted, and she is still like "*shrug* idk what those rebels are on about, they should really think about being Nice rebels."
REALLY????
I realize that this isn't just a Bryce problem, this is partly a narrative problem because humans are framed as being radical extremists who, while being constantly shit on, should definitely consider how to be nicer when they rebel. But Bryce should know better and she just... doesn't.
When she saved Emile, it felt so hollow. The sentiment behind it was admirable, the fact that he had value despite not having magic powers. I got verklempt. The fact that he had value because of the way that other people loved him was so poignant. But that whole thing felt like, again, Aelin Lite™️ because she was secretly doing things (which had no precedent but okay, we're just supposed to accept that Bryce is stealthy or whatever) and also shallow because she didn't think about the fact that Cormac also cared about Emile and was desperate to find him. She just... hid that from him, despite the fact that Emile has value in being loved for himself, Cormac loves Emile, and Bryce just doesn't make that connection???
I couldn't even remember, six weeks after reading hosab, what was driving Bryce in hosab. She doesn't seem to be doing anything out of any obligation or sense of morality or a personal goal or literally anything. She just keeps happening across stuff that Danika hid from her. I have zero idea what is driving Bryce, besides loving Hunt.
She just has no sense of the bigger picture, and I think that's what bothers me the most. She seems very very limited in her worldview, even when reasons for her to care are shoved all up in her face.
also I freaking hate her taste in clothes.

Synopsis: When you and Tom realize how much your baby daughter loves Frozen, Tom decides to surprise her playing her favorite song, but she doesn't have the reaction he was hoping for.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/n: Hey!! So I'm super excited to share this fic that started out as me sending a cute video to my incredible friend @kidney9-9 until I asked her if she wanted to write this fic with me. Go check all her work, she's an incredible writer, and I'm so lucky to have such a sweet friend. :) Let us know if you like it!! 💖💖
A/n 2: hi y'all hope you enjoy this colab! it was super fun and amazing, please follow and make sure to read my friend's writing! it's all incredible and so cool! :) thank you for reading!💖💖
It was a quiet evening, just relaxing at home with Tom and Sophie, when you heard the familiar strums of a guitar. It was only a few notes at first until you recognized the song that your husband was playing. It was a sweet song with such sweet memories that made you lull into a thought of the past.
As soon as the soft knock on Elsa's door stopped and Anna started singing, your daughter looked at the TV screen as if it was the sweetest melody she has ever heard and it made Tom's heart melt. The way Sophie's eyes were so focused on the screen made you laugh, it's like she was hypnotized. As soon as the song ended, she went running to you and Tom, telling you two how much she loved that part of the movie and the song.
Over the next few days, you and Tom giggled and chuckled about Sophie’s concentration and seriousness in practicing the song. You even watched her as she tried to make a dance routine, it was so cute and precious. One of the days, she even got into your closet and put an old pair of heels on, saying it was her turn to perform. You and Tom cheered her on as she belted out to her new favorite song, telling her how amazing she was.
Knowing how much your daughter loved that song, Tom learned how to play it on his guitar and how to sing the lyrics for Sophie. Tom practiced for that all week, because who cares if he's got to memorize Spiderman lines for the next movie, he needs to impress his baby daughter first. On Sunday he was finally ready to give your daughter the performance she deserved, but what he didn't expect was how much she hated it.
You started recording once Tom gave you the go-ahead and placed the phone down in a steady position on the table. You sat back quietly as Sophie walked into the room, confused at the sound of the guitar. She was usually at daycare when Tom practiced the song, or asleep. Tom chuckled, feeling excited to show her the song he’s been practicing.
Instead of the original “Elsa?” In the beginning of the song, he replaced it with Sophie, and you giggled a bit, glancing over to her. “Sophie? Do you wanna build a snowman? C’mon let’s go and play!” Tom sang, smiling widely as he watched Sophie unfold what was happening.
She struggled to say something at first, making Tom sure that she enjoyed it but the moment she opened her mouth, he realized he was wrong. “NO! NO! Stop it right now!”
Knowing how self conscious Tom gets about his voice you weren't sure if you should laugh at your 3 year old daughter hating her dad singing and playing for the first time to someone other than you. Before you could say something, Sophie turned to her dad who seemed confused about if he should keep playing, knowing how you two have the same weird sense of humor and this could be another one of his daughter's jokes.
Uncertain of his next movement, Tom went back to just playing his guitar, too scared of his daughter hating his voice. Before he could even touch the first string Sophie snatched the guitar with her little hands, shouting out,  ''No more Frozen for you!''
Sophie tried to take her dad's guitar out of his hands, but she realized it's useless to carry something that heavy, instead, she went to her room and searched for the Olaf plush one of her many uncles got her as soon as they heard about her newest obsession. Holding it tight as if it was the real character, she sang to it softly the melody that she loves the most in the world.
Back in the living room, you and Tom stared at each other for a few silent seconds, confused about what Sophie did. “What? I thought she loved that song.” Tom spoke up, a bit dejected and upset. He didn’t understand her reaction at all but he snapped out of his thoughts once he felt you place your hand on his shoulder, after you stopped the video.
“I think she does. Don’t be upset babe. I think she wasn’t expecting that!” You cheered him up, smiling back to him. You didn’t want to laugh in front of him in case that gave him the wrong impression, but you found it adorable that Sophie stopped him that way. You never saw her act that way before, but you could tell she really cared about Frozen.
“Maybe? I’m just confused why she did that.” Tom responded, shrugging back to you. After another moment, you sent him another sweet smile, still finding his song incredible.
“You’re a great singer and guitarist, honey. Maybe she was jealous or something.” You reassured him once more.
Tom still thought that something went wrong with his voice, until you tried to lighten up the mood. ''Did you see how she held the guitar strings to try to stop you from going again?'' You chuckled, and Tom put the guitar aside so that he could put his hands on his face. For a second you were worried that you said something wrong that would make him more upset, but he took his hands off his face. And then you saw that he was trying to hold back his laugh, and that was a sound that you loved to hear. ''I'm just glad she didn't throw something at me''
''C'mon,'' You tried to restrain yourself from laughing, but you ended up joining your husband. ''It wasn't that bad!'' You said while losing your breath from laughing too hard.
''I mean, I'm sure I won't be able to dress up Frozen themed for her birthday next month now.'' He said, understanding that would only make you laugh more. ''Man, I had the dress and everything, even bought the blonde wig on Amazon.'' He pretended to be upset about it, and almost immediately looked at you to see if you were amused.
A few quiet minutes went by before you two heard Sophie’s voice carry through the house. You knitted your eyebrows together, instantly recognizing the tune she was singing and Tom tilted his head to the side as well. “Is that what I think it is?” He mumbled to you as you started to smile more, nodding your head back to his question.
“Let’s go check up on her.” You whispered back, not wanting Sophie to hear you while she sang. You got up from the couch, along with Tom and slowly walked up the stairs, hearing her voice get louder.
“Do you wanna build a snowman? It doesn't have to be a snowman. Go away, Anna! Okay, bye.” Sophie continued, not noticing you and her dad in the doorway. She was playing with her Olaf plushie, making him dance along to her song.
You glanced back to Tom, chuckling silently as he smiled back over to Sophie, proud she was singing. He understood why she acted that way now; that song was special to her and only her. Maybe she didn’t want to hear her dad sing it and possibly embarrass her.
Tom wrapped his arm around your shoulder, clearing his throat once Sophie stopped singing.
As the newest singer in the family stopped her performance, you two sat on Sophie's bed waiting for her to continue while smiling, encouraging her to keep going. When she went back to her little concert, you smiled at Tom while leaning into whisper, ''Watch and learn how your daughter is not shy at all about singing in front of people.''
He scoffed knowing you were just teasing him. ''Please, we don't count. She has seen you cry, and sing, over Louis Tomlinson's solo on History.''
''Hey! That's low, you know how that song makes me cry, it's their last song, it's their goodb-'' Tom stopped you before you told him again how much that song meant to you and the fans. ''Ok ok I'm sorry babe, I think it's a great solo, I'd cry if I was a fan too.'' He said while putting your head on his shoulder. ''Don't talk shit about my boyband, that's my Frozen.''
Tom laughed at your reference, and turned around seeing his daughter suddenly quiet. She climbs on Tom's lap, while you two hug and congratulate her on her amazing performance. Too caught up on the family hug, you didn’t notice your daughter leaning to whisper in her dad's ear.
''Daddy?''
''Yea my love?'' He hummed back.
''What's shit?'' Tom's eyes widened as he looked at you begging for you to help him. You raised your eyebrows at him and shrugged before leaning over to Sophie.
“Don’t know, I heard him say it first.”

I hate when people deminish Benedict's struggles saying they are not that big of a deal, I'm sorry but I don't think it's nice to hear every single time people speak to you that your only goal in life it's to be your brother's replacement 😤
To say I need them to address this in season 2 & 3 is and understatement. I don't see why they wouldn't but I always live in fear with adaptations that they'll leave the really important stuff out.
Benedict being the second child (the spare, Number 2) is such a huge part of who he is as a person. And I really need to see that struggle.
I think I mentioned before in a previous post about how as Anthony starts to fall in love with Kate and gets his stuff figured out I really would like to see the opposite of Benedict. Like the man just getting more and more frustrated by society. Maybe Granville's parties aren't giving him excitement anymore. And he's just like a step away from losing it because now Anthony's married and all the society mama's are pushing their daughters on him and he just can't stand it because ya know "Well I mean he isn't a Viscount but a second son will do just as nicely" And they don't give a shit about him. They don't care who he is as a person. They care about his family status and that's it. And then boom SOPHIE BECKETT ENTERS THE CHAT. And takes the time to ask him something personal like what his favorite color is. And she's real and honest and different and Benny B isn't going to be able to handle himself.
I really need the show to go into more detail about the rocks and Benedict losing his father. I mean the man keeps a jar of rocks that he collected on hikes with his father. Those are important. He knows the stories of each and every one of them. I understand Anthony losing Edmund is a HUGE part of his character development and what not....but Anthony isn't the only one who lost him. Benedict and the other Bridgerton's did as well. I would really like the show to go into this more.
Like maybe Anthony's on the cusp of admitting his true feelings for Kate and everybody can see how happy and in love he is, especially Benedict because he notices things about Anthony first because he's been compared to Anthony his whole life. But Benedict's unraveling because he doesn't know who he is and here's Anthony MARRIED and refusing to admit he's in love and utterly convinced he's going to die young just like their father. And Benedict just loses his shit because he can't stand it anymore. Being compared to Anthony and maybe he's a little jealous that his eldest brother, the one who couldn't figure his damn life out, is happy and in love( even if he can't admit it to himself) and Edmund's ghost constantly hanging over Anthony and Benedict loses it because "DAMN IT ANTHONY YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO LOST HIM!" And then he goes into this big rant about how amazing Kate is and how stupid Anthony is for not realizing it or just plain denying it. And how much it annoys him because all he's good at being is the spare. Number 2. Anthony's replacement for when he dies and Anthony's just sitting there with a glass of scotch in his hand utterly fucking confused because Benedict's always the level headed one. The calm one. The Bridgerton with his shit together. Because like Anthony never had to be Benedict's father. They were always just brother's and maybe that could be a moment where Anthony realizes he doesn't know his brother and his struggles like he thought he did. And it could be an excellent brother bonding moment right before Benedict gets the rug pulled out from under him when he meets Sophie.
....this got away from me but I hope you get the gist. I need all the character development for my favorite boy.

You have lost the count of how many minutes you've been sitting in the locker room, in silence. Your head is loud enough right now. Hank has left the police station already, and you're waiting the time accorded before doing the same and driving your way to his house. Almost one year and you keep staying there ten minutes more than him, to not make anyone suspect about your relationship. But you aren't sure if you're ready to go.
The fear of losing Hank for what you have to tell him is consuming you, like a big fire reducing your bones to ashes. It's painful, for describing it somehow. The pressure within your chest is going to kill you, suddenly breaking into an anguish crying, resting your back against the wall and curling your legs to your torso. The two of you haven't talked about starting a family. The loss of Justin still being an open wound, bleeding a little bit every day. How are you supposed to tell him that you're pregnant?
“(Y/N)?”
Antonio's voice races your heart, peeking his head out through the lockers. He sounds worried. He looks worried, walking slowly towards you without profering any sharp move. Kneeling next to you, not sure about what he can do, the detective holds your hand to caress the back of them with his thumb; thinking that this gesture can help you to relax. But the sob continues stuck in your throat and the tears roam your cheek like a torrential and furious racing river.
Sitting down by your side, Antonio places an arm over your shoulders, urging you to rest your head on his. He doesn't know what to say. And even if he wanted to say something, his vocal cords fail when your phone dings with a notification and he sees the screen illuminating over the floor. Hank. “Voight?” He thinks raising up an eyebrow, in a mix of curiosity and confusion.
“Where are you? Something jumped off?”
Grabbing your phone and blocking it to keep it inside your pocket, you turn at the man. Your lips are trembling. You're not sure if you can talk, but you need to rip it off from your chest. You don't want to lose Hank, at this point, not even your work matters.
“Ant—Antonio… I am… pregnant”.
Shaking his head slightly, his eyes widened surprised. His forefinger points at the floor for a moment, to the position of your phone a second ago, asking without words if Hank is the father. You nod pressing your lips. He's in shock. You can see in his eyes, trying to find the correct sentence to say. Congratulations? Are you kidding me? Voight, seriously?
“We… started to date… a year and a half ago and… hm… made it official almost a ye—year ago”.
“Who knows it?”
“Only you. No one else. And I'm terrified, be—because… I was there when he lost Justin and… shit, we've always taken all the care, but… this happened”. Biting your bottom lip, as the tears keep filling up your eyes, you try to not cry anymore. “I don't know… how to tell him. I don't know if he wants this. I don't want to lose him, Antonio”.
“Hey, listen now. You're not gonna lose him, okay?” Turning his body at you and adopting your same position, he hits your shoulder briefly with his fist. “I've an idea. Write him and tell him that you're on your way and meet me in the hall”.
Nodding, he shows you a soft smile before standing up to leave the locker room. Cleaning your cheeks with the back of your hands, you do exactly what he has told you. After writing to your boyfriend and picking up your things, you walk out of the place to wait downstairs. Not a minute after, Antonio comes from behind the main desk saying his goodbye to Platt, before following you to the outside.
Offering you the bag he's carrying in his right hand, keeping the other in a pocket, you take it with curiosity.
“This department, his career, is his life. This is a good way to tell him”.
Grabbing the piece of clothing inside it, you read the emblem of Chicago P.D. before noticing the small size of the shirt.
“We usually give these shirts to the kids who come to see the station”.
Yes. That's the better idea. Your lips curve up in a tender grin of gratitude. You can't help but hug him, without caring who can be watching you.
“C'mon, go to his house and give it to him”.
“Thank you, Antonio… I don't… I don't know what to say”.
“You don't have to. Tell me tomorrow how it has goin'”.
In silence, you nod after placing a kiss on his cheek, keeping back the grey t-shirt inside the bag to go find your car in the private parking.
As always, the road is somewhat empty, reaching Hank's neighborhood in a sight. You can see the lights turned on inside, through the windows, and a free place to park your SUV behind his. Taking your time to leave your car there, you step out having a deep breath trying to calm yourself and your nerves. In your head dance a lot of possible ways about how he will react, and every one of them scares you like never.
Putting your eyes on the bag, you find the needed encouragement to come into his house. Leaving your backpack at the entrance, you lead your steps to the back garden, finding Hank sitting on a wooden chair, leaning forward and shaking his knees nervously. You haven't come this ‘late’ before. But as soon as you sit by his side, placing the bag over the dinner table, he feels less agitated.
Resting his back against his chair, tangling his hands over his abdomen, he can't help but feel curiosity about the content of it and the worrying installed on your face.
“What kind of hell are you into, hm?”
Rubbing the line of his jaw with his thumb, he intertwines his hands again waiting for a response. Maybe we need to talk aren't the words you want to choose, but they're the ones that escape from your throat. Watching how his face hardens, you gulp before licking your bottom lip.
“I don't know how it happened. It's not like… I planned it”.
“Don't beat around the bush and be clear with me”. Hank gesticulates with his forefinger, as he always does when he's losing his nerves. “That's why you have been acting distant, right? If you don't want to continue, just tell me”.
He hisses the last three words, hiding the misery in his tone of voice, leaning forward to you. And that really hurts you, to think that he believes you don't love him anymore. That he may think that his life is not compatible with yours. But that's bullshit. You would make them both fit at any cost, if you would have to.
“What? No, no, no! I'm not going to leave you, Hank. I don't want to”.
“Then, what is this about?”
You can't help but close your eyes and take a deep, deep, deep breath until you feel your lungs about to explode. Expelling the air through your nostrils, you decide to give him the bag instead of continuing screwing up the situation by using the wrong words. Frowning, he slides his hand inside it to take off the shirt of small size. Putting it between his fingers and in front of his hands, Hank raises an eyebrow without understanding what that shirt means.
“You stole it?”
“Technically… It wasn't me, but… Antonio”.
“Antonio stole a shirt and gave it to you, because he doesn't know how to return it?”
Moving your lips in silence, trying to say something, you can't believe he's really this fucking dumb. Shrugging he keeps it back inside the bag, pressing his lips.
“I will do it tomo—”.
“To be a detective, you're too stupid, Henry”. The laugh fills up the garden for a moment, starting to feel less scared than five minutes ago. “Hold the shirt again and put that brain of yours to work”.
He grunts tired of your games, doing what you just told him. Placing it stretched over the table, your boyfriend seems thoughtful rubbing his chin. Looking at you sideways, he shakes his head not getting what you want to tell him, turning towards you clapping his hands.
“I hate riddles. Spit it of a damn time, sweetheart”.
“I'm pregnant”.
Hank doesn't move a single inch of his body, as if he hadn't listened to you. His brown eyes are glued on yours. He doesn't even blink, looking at you as if he's studying your face to make sure himself that it's not a macabre joke. That you aren't kidding. That you're telling him the truth. When he kisses his lips, still remaining silence, you feel at the edge.
“Listen, I was scared of telling you. Not only because it means that people should know we are together, but because I don't know how you feel about it. But I swear for my badge, if you don't say anything in ten seconds, I'm gonna punch you in the face. And believe me, I have had a horrible day, Hank. Got too much rage accumulated in my hands”.
“I don't know what to say”. He whispers while you finish your threat.
Barely breathing, you nod, licking your incisors, putting your gaze away somewhere in the garden. It wasn't the response you wanted to hear, but it was the one you were waiting for. Being sure that he's going to end your relationship, but at least taking care of your baby, the tears fill up your eyes, reddening them again.
Cleaning a furtive one running down your left cheek, you get up from your seat about to leave the porch to come into the house, grab your things and go to your apartment. The only thing you were afraid of since you met him is now destroying you slowly. But Hank doesn't let you pass him away, gently gripping your forearm to make you take a step back and sit on his lap.
“I'm sorry…” You sob covering your face with both hands, not being able to look at him.
“Why?”
“I just… I don't wanna lose you. I've never felt happier in my… fucking life, before meeting you. I'm my best version since we're together. I lo—I love you with all my heart, I swear it…”
“Is this because of Justin?”
Your cry suddenly stops, using the sleeves of your jacket to clean your face, raising it towards him. It's been a long time since you talked about his son for the last time, keeping the mourning for himself.
“I saw you, Hank. You were devastated… Your wound is still bleeding and it's okay. It's normal, I understand it. I will never tell you to not cry for him. I didn't want you to… feel like I'm trying to cover this hole in your heart, just because the only thing I want is you to be happy. I didn't wa—”.
“Justin died, that's a fact. I miss him every day of my life. I should have been a better father for him. Maybe he would be alive now, maybe that night wouldn't have ever happened. But that doesn't mean I don't want this”. He points at the grey t-shirt, giving you some hope. “There's no one who cares more about me than you do. I've imagined my life with you thousands of times. How it would be to have a family together. Do the right thing, because it's never too late to change. And as you said so, you made me a better man too. I want it, (Y/N). I want this life with you. I want this kid. And I want you”.
You pout at him, feeling much better knowing that everything is clear. Placing a hand on the back of your neck, he pushes you closer to catch your lips with his to transmit you all the happiness and the tenderness he has inside his soul, after giving him this second chance in life.
“We will talk with Crowley and Platt tomorrow, okay with that?” You nod in response. “So… Antonio knows, uh?”
“Yeah, he… found me crying in the locker room and saw your message on my phone. It was his idea”.
“He had a good one”. Hank assures while chuckling, urging to rest your head against his chest. “I will give him a biscuit tomorrow, you know, for being a smart dog”.
“He wasn't in Narcotics for anything…”

Comments on the L Word Gen Q s02e09
-I understand that the OG intro is tied to the OG show and wouldn't fit the GenQ because of that but i missed the girls in tight dresses, who drag with mustaches...
-Dont let you guys hate for Bette blind you about how she ain't wrong about the Nunez stuff. It ain't Dani fault too, is her father's.
-So the donor, Marcus, didn't wanted to meet Angie. Damn
-The series makes me want to live in LA
-Dani you're not a newby in the business. You know how shit works. Bette is protecting her business and ideas just as much as you are trying to clean up your father's bullshit
-I will never have kids, look how Angie is treating Tina and Bette because her donor doesn't wanted to meet her. I will never have the patience for that shit, i would give a "okay, fuck you then" and a smile
Look at that, i bet she thinks that was Bette's fault.
-Listen Sophie, after that "conversation" you would be the last person o want to talk to. And i think i would also runaway from you.
-And Look, Dani really is alone cuz her "friend" Micah is nowhere to be seen to help her. Thank God she have Gigi
-Alice having to come out again. That shit is real and sucks. She is aware that she can lost audience by the fact she is dating a man and that's sucks.
I get that a lot of gays wants to keep distance from straight males doesn't matter what but it sucks that Alice may lost audience cuz because she is dating a man
-I bet Sophie will fight Finley as soon as she finds her
-Yes Angie's she is being serious. No, you are being the asshole Angie. It's understandable that you're sad and wherever but that ain't your fault, it ain't Bette or Tina's fault, it ain't your friend's fault. And pushing away the people who actually care about you will not help you at all.
-Yes, Finley does have a problem. Her problem is Sophie.
I can't believe I got the Spanish scene, I've been struggling with that language since ever. Now i can say I speak Portuguese, English and listen to Spanish
-Dani if you need a time alone, you don't have to lie about it. I understand you lied because im your previous relationship you couldn't have that
-Shane and Alice leaving so Tibette can fight lmao. And again, Bette don't have the obligation to be Carrie best friend or something like that. Just being able to be nice with each other is
Bette is not crying only because she make it in her job, i can tell you guys that.
-Are you jealous Tina? ARE YOU JEALOUS TINA?
Yes apologize, thank you Angie.
"i think we should go back" i bet Tina's heart skipped a beat
-Fuck Marcus.
-No serious. It doesn't matter if Bette still have feelings for Tina or not, she ain't obligated to be Carrie's best friend. That's not fair. And if you the I being just a Bette's supporter but just imagine if people were pushing you to be all friends with a person that you just don't vibe with it and doesn't wanted
-Gigi is the best. Where I can find one? Oh the parallel with Bette and Pippa.
"nobody holds me when I'm sad" stuff. With Bette is like that too
-Since I'm a responsible bitch, i would at least give a "i don't wanna talk to you Sophie" message
Accept that she is not getting the pieces and making better. She is the reason Finley is drinking again n the first place. And she doesn't give a shit if Finley has lots of shit going on because with Sophie is all "me, me ,me"
-Angie and Jordi 💞
-Yes. Finley and Dani getting together against Sophie I'm so here for it. Oh no Dani, i mean you get it out please help Finley to get it out too
-Sorry Marcus, that actually sweet of you. Omg he died. At least, in a way, you got to meet Angie.
-Okay that broke my heart. If Sophie hurts Finley again i will punch her in the face.

Pairing: Keanu Reeves X Reader
Word count: 2.5 K
Summary: Keanu found the girl almost dead, in the wrecks of what was once her car. While she was in surgery, stuck in a coma, he gathered the best doctors of New York to attend to her. They told him she is likely to have some kind of brain damage, what may lead to memory loss. And this possibility added up wit the fact that she's pregnant, made the council come up with an odd idea. They asked Keanu to pretend to be her husband, since the stress of finding out everything that happened could put the baby in danger. He reluctantly agreed, but only if she does has some kind of memory loss. He still goes she'll wake up soon, with her memories intact.
But when you finally wake up, there's nothing inside. You're quick to find your head is empty, void, like a blank canvas. The only thing that brings you some relief, that makes you feel less lonely is the mention of a husband. And you can't wait to meet him, because you know you can't deal with this by yourself.

Candle Lights
Keanu is driving back home after your third antenatal class. You enjoy them, but most of the things they say you already know. But it's not their fault you and Keanu do a lot of reading and research, and your doctors keep you updated. But you want to keep going.
“I'm thinking about a cesarian.” You tell Keanu, both hands cupping your bump.
“What?” He glances at you, and his face makes you giggle. “You have to be kidding me.”
“Why?” You ask, stretching your arm to touch the back of his neck.
“Because labor is something natural. Your body knows what to do.”
“Yeah, it just hurts like a bitch.” You snap back, playing with his hair.
“I know.” He sighs. “It's your call. You're the one delivering the baby.”
“I'm not sure yet. But we still have time.” You're currently in the middle of week 18. You feel more comfortable, and you have more energy now. The bump already shows depending on what you wear, but there's still a long way to go. “And we need to talk names, by the way.”
“I thought we decided on Clarissa or Henry.”
“Yeah, but we gotta be one hundred percent sure. Are you one hundred percent sure?”
“Now that you're talking about it, no.” Keanu giggles, a hand coming to lay on your thigh. “What were the other options?”
“Sophie, Nicole, Ethan, and Liam.” You recite them, looking at the landscape outside your window.
“They're all great. But... Liam. I like Liam. Or Sophie.” He takes a turn left, entering the condo.
“I like them too.” It's always like this. Whenever you bring this up, you just can't decide. “Maybe it'll get easier once we know the sex. Because we're clueless so far.”
“Do you want one of those parties where the sex is revealed?”
“No. It's not like I'd know the guests so...” Pushing this thought back before it starts bothering you, you sigh. “Let's just keep it between us. The rest of the world will find out eventually, but let it happen when it happens.”
“Alright.” As he slows down and stops to wait for the garage door to open, you see Mrs. Jackson walking to her front door. She spots you and waves. You immediately remember the amazing brownies she makes, and you suddenly need it.
“I'll go say hi.” You tell Keanu before leaning for a kiss and stepping out of the car.
Mrs. Jackson is a kind old lady who lives with her husband in the house on the left. When she sees you coming her way she stops, smiling. “Hello, (Y/N). Good morning.” Her long white hair is being blown by the wind, and she keeps it off her face with a hand.
“Good morning, Mrs. Jackson. How are you today?” Smiling, you hug her.
“You can call me Anne, child, it's alright.” She immediately touches your belly. “And how is this tiny little human? Are you eating well, honey? Exercising?” She raises an eyebrow, tilting her head at your house. “Is your husband taking good care of you?”
“Yes, yes, and yes.” Giggling, and blushing a little, you nod. “I have weekly appointments with my nutritionist, Keanu and I take a walk every morning around the neighborhood and he's being absolutely amazing.” You say with a sigh, your heart beating a little faster just at the mention of him.
“Are you falling for him?” With both hands on her hip, Mrs. Jackson inquires, a funny expression on her face. She knows about the accident since she has become a friend of yours.
“I am.” You mutter, biting your lip.
“That's true, genuine love, sweetie. Even after forgetting him, you're falling for him all over again.” She has a teasing look on her face that makes you blush even more.
“Yeah, I guess you can say that. In the beginning, I really thought we'd end up divorced.”
“Honey, you don't know the way Keanu looks at you.” She shakes her head no, taking your arms and pulling you to a seat on the steps that lead to her porch. “When you came for dinner earlier this week, I could see it clearly. He looks at you like you're his whole world.” Running a hand through your hair, you look down. “That man loves you with all his heart, I have no doubt.” She puts an arm around your shoulders.
“Yeah...” You mutter, a low chuckle leaving your lips. “Oh, sorry for yesterday's noise. We're changing a few things in the house for the baby and also working on the decoration. Since we just moved and everything is happening at the same time...”
Anne furrows her eyebrows a little, tilting her head to the side. “Honey, Keanu has been living here for a little more than a year before you came. It was a surprise to me as it was for everyone to find he was married.”
Mimicking her expression, you start thinking, counting. Keanu said you came here only a few weeks before the accident. “Well... We were keeping it a secret. He's a public figure so the goal was to keep the marriage private for as long as we could. But the accident happened.” The words come out slow, as you try to understand what she means by that. A year... It can't be.
“I don't blame you for doing that.” Squeezing your shoulders a little, she smiles. “People can be very intrusive with celebrities.”
“Keanu's fans are great. We bumped into some on our way to the Walmart a while ago. And Ke was kind, as always.”
“That man is a rarity.”
“He is.” Smiling, you look at her, remembering about your current craving. “Oh, do you think you can make some of those chocolate brownies?” You ask, pouting a little. “I hate to give you trouble but I really want them.”
“Don't worry, child.” Anne giggles, taking your hand in hers. “I'm retired for way too many years and I enjoy having something to do.”
“Thank you!” Pulling her into a hug, you place a kiss on her cheek. “I gotta go now.” Pushing yourself up, you jump to the sidewalk. “Important talking about this little one's name.”
“Won't you tell me the options?”
“Nope!” Winking at her, you start walking backward. “It's going to be a surprise.” With another wave, you turn around and head home.
Keanu is in the kitchen, starting with the preparations for dinner. Homemade pizza night, and he's just starting to make the dough. Moving to seat on the kitchen island, you're just about to ask how you can help when what Anne said comes back. That was certainly weird, but you don't think Keanu would lie to you like that. “Ke...” You make a small pause when he looks at you over his shoulder. “Mrs. Jackson said you were living here for like a year. But you told me we came to New York a few weeks before the accident.”
He stops, both his hands dirty with flour. There's something in his face you can't read, as Keanu avoids looking at you. “We bought the house about a year ago. I used to come and spend a day or two because of work, but we only actually moved when you found a good job here.” He speaks slow, only lifting his eyes when he's done speaking. You work with social services, and he said that your job is secure for when you're able to go back.
“Got it.” You mutter, furrowing your eyebrows a little. “Are you alright?” Getting up, you walk over him. Once you're close, he has no choice but stares into your eyes. Wrapping your arms around his midsection, you tiptoe to kiss him.
“I'm great.” When you step away, Keanu touches your nose in a quick motion, getting it dirt with flour.
“I can't believe you did that.” You giggle, stretching your arm to shove your fingers inside the bowl before showing them to your husband. “If you don't apologize, sir, I'll paint all this pretty face of yours.”
“Is it a threat?” Keanu inquires, raising an eyebrow.
“It's a promise.”
“Alright then.” He chuckles before cupping your face with both hands, getting your cheeks and jaw covered in flour.
“You're playing with fire!” You shout, running your fingers through your face before reaching for the bowl and taking a handful of flour that you succeed to half throw it at him, with half of it falling on the sink. He holds your dirty hand, some parts of his hair all white. “You're messing with the wrong pregnant lady, babe.”
“I surrender.” He says in between giggles, hands raised. “I'm completely at your mercy.”
Squinting your eyes at him, you only grunt before washing your hands. “Let me help you.” You say as you grab the dishcloth, damping it before starting to clean Keanu's face.
“No. Let me do this for you. Just sit there looking beautiful.” Once you're done with his face, you clean yourself the best you can.
“Only if I get to see you around the kitchen looking handsome.” Sassing back, you leave the dishcloth on the sink and head back to your place at the kitchen island. You love helping him, but you decided to let him do his thing this time.
By nightfall, the pizzas are in the oven. All three of them, despite knowing you won't eat that much. But one is for Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, and the other two will probably cover up all meals for a while. That if Keanu doesn't bug you with eating super healthy on every single meal. The brownies arrive too, and you thank Anne a lot as you bite one of them.
The only thing to ruin the night, well, that got close to, was that the sudden violent wind caused a blackout. You were eating at the kitchen table when it happened, and Keanu left to check if there was anything he could do. There isn't, but he did find some candles and the pizza night became a lot more romantic instantly.
Right now, already satisfied after two slices only, you admire his face in the different lighting, his hand holding yours over the table.
“We should go out. Like a date.” He suggests, and it makes your smile grow wider. “If that's alright with you.”
“Of course it is. We're married.” Shrugging your shoulders, you notice the subtle change on his face. You never get it, it's a mystery. “Ke, what's wrong?” It's not the first time it happens, but even though you're getting to know him, learning to read his expressions, this one is still difficult.
“Nothing, beautiful. It's nothing.” He assures you in a low voice. “Do you wanna head upstairs? A shower lit by candles must be quite an adventure.”
He always does that. He says it's nothing and changes the subject... But you guess it's alright. Maybe Keanu remembers the accident. The wife he lost that day. Or maybe something you shared before that's completely gone for you. “Great.”
“You can go first. I'll clean this up.”
“Leave the dishes to me. I can do them tomorrow.” You say as you walk past him, a hand on his shoulder. “You already made dinner for us.”
“Alright.” He agrees and you smile before going upstairs.
Showering with nothing but candles to light up the bathroom is weird, and you almost slipped. And that you'll never tell Keanu or else who knows what he'll do. But it was different. Once you're done, you leave the bathroom loosening the bun you had your hair in, letting it down. “Your turn with the medieval style shower.”
“I didn't know they had bathrooms like this back then.” Keanu snaps at you, smirking.
“You couldn't just go with it, could you?” Rolling your eyes, you walk over the slide glass door that leads to the balcony, just to watch as the wind still rushes through.
“Absolutely not.” It's the last thing you hear before the door closes.
With your eyes on the street down there, you hope this wind won't bring anyone trouble by tomorrow. At least the news said the weather will get better in a couple of days.
After some minutes watching the threes bending under the weight of the wind, you walk back to the bed, sitting on the edge. This place is feeling more like home as the days go by, and you're falling back into the life you once had. And it's good. Despite all the medicine you still take, the endless appointments, and a very, very overprotective husband, everything is good. More than that, actually. It does bring you relief to know you were this happy before. That you weren't alone, that you somehow managed to find someone so amazing. You know it was probably difficult in the beginning, with him being a public figure, and so many years older, but look where you are now. It was worth it. It ended up in the best way possible. And you couldn't ask for anything else.
“Lost in thoughts?” His voice startles you, as he comes from the bathroom.
“A little.” Getting on your knees on the bed, you cross it until you're face to face with him. Well, he's still taller, but you don't mind. You like it a lot, actually. Smiling you wrap your arms around his neck. “But they were good thoughts.”
“That's good to know.” He whispers, and you can't resist the proximity, so you just kiss him.
It was supposed to be just a quick thing, soft and sweet, but it soon becomes too needy. You shouldn't be this needy, and you don't know where it comes from. But it doesn't take much until you're awkwardly wrapping your legs around his waist, but the sudden change of balance makes you fall back on the bed, giggling through the kiss. But you don't mind. You don't want this to stop.
But you sigh when Keanu pulls away, opening your eyes to look at him, his eyes barely lit by the two candles, one on each nightstand. “What?” You ask, your voice a little weak, you're not sure why.
“If we keep this going...” His voice fades, and you feel when he removes some of his weight from you. He wasn't crushing you, but you were feeling all of his body. “...I don't think we'll be interrupted this time.”
You get what he means. There won't be calls this time, nothing too put a stop to whatever is going to happen. But you don't care. He's your husband, and you're falling for him. You want this. “I don't want it to be interrupted, Ke.” You tell him, thanking the darkness because you're sure you never blushed this much.
“Are you sure you want this?” A thunder almost clouds his voice, but you manage to hear it.
It's kind that he still wants to know how you feel. Keanu doesn't push you, he never has. It suddenly snaps that you love him, that this is right. “I'm sure.” You whisper back, eyes closing again when Keanu leans in for another kiss.

Plot Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Character Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Romance Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Would I Recommend? YES!
What I Liked:
The characters are so likeable, so fun to read, and so easy to root for. They each have their strengths and weaknesses that make them very tangible and relatable. They're very solid characters who are easy to love.
This also extends to the side characters. ^^
The plot was genius! I thought the entire book would just be following their time in Maui but I'm happy with where the book lead after their forced vacation. It made the story all the more exciting.
The unexpected plot twists had me squealing, gasping, and punching the air.
The romance is superb; well paced, well written, and well anticipated.
Every time they called each other a different name I laughed, I couldn't help it. It's such a cute idea and it fits them so well. Their give and take in general was so good and was delivered brilliantly.
What I Didn't Like:
I'm not a big fan of the miscommunication trope so there were times I was nearly foaming at the mouth with rage because of those two stubborn mules.
Dane and Sophie. Two of the most miserable people in this book. They deserve each other in all the worst ways.
My Thoughts:
This is the best enemies to lovers romcom I've read so far and I'm still reeling over it. It was so cute, so funny, so realistic and relatable, and so worth the read!
I'll be honest, I was a bit nervous to start this because I just finished reading a couple of thriller books and I wasn't sure I would wrap my head around a funny flirty book after diving shoulders deep into murder and the paranormal. However I was able to immediately switched gears. This book buckled me in and slapped the horse's ass where I was taken for an exhilarating ride through warm sunshine, crashing waves, and $1.99 Mai Tai.
They have such a unique relationship whether they're arguing, pretending to hate each other, or locking lips after one too many drinks. One minute they're passive-aggressively judging each other's outfits, the next arguing whether buffet food should be considered a safety hazard, and the next they've barely made it to the bedroom before their poor choice in clothes can hit the ground.
This couple is sexy in all the right ways; height difference, the bodies of gods, and bratty attitudes that come in handy in bed. However they're also great together outside the bedroom. I love that they're able to have real conversations and seriously romantic moments that don't automatically lead to smut. It shows they have a solid foundation that will last longer than their sex cravings.
The miscommunication and misinterpretations are strong in this book that had me nearly pulling my hair out but it was worth the pain and agony in the end.
I'm in love with this book.
I now understand why TikTok and YouTube hyped this book so much.
I don't want to give away spoilers because this is a must read for everyone who enjoys enemies to lovers, teeth-baring sexual tension, and messy nail-biting drama.

Why were you disappointed by the Howl's Moving Castle movie? I think I read the book years ago, but I don't remember much about it
i'm gonna critique the gibbly movie and it's my understanding that it's a special movie for a lot of people so if that's you feel free to skip this one
so i was delighted and enchanted by the book, which has only twice to date not made the movie a devastating letdown, so my dear friend sending me this book was pretty much signing a contract in her own blood accepting that i would be cranky about the movie. i'm not really a ghibli person either, like i can appreciate the artistry and value in them, and i'll watch it if the people i'm with really need to watch princess mononoke or whatever, but i just don't go out of my way to watch them. (i like reading meta about spirited away, though.)
i did go out of my way to watch this one because i loved the book so much.
it's important to remember the culture in which the movie was made as opposed to the culture in which the book was made. howl is welsh, if that says anything to you. (his name is howell, and he adopted the name howl to run from himself and seem more magical. i love him and movie howl had none of those elements except for when he told us he was a coward and i was like. ok lol, i'll jot that down because i didn't see it in the text)
so i'm not necessarily surprised by the creative changes they made, but i am confused, because those changes drastically affect the characterization, the character motivations, and the pacing of the story.
(i also was only able to get my hands on the dub and i loathe and detest christian bale as howl lmfao but that's subjective)
so first of all, does movie sophie, like, want anything? she's flawless as a character. even though she has a completely different personality as an old lady than she does as a young lady, there's nothing wrong with her. everybody is fond of her, she's shy, she's gentle, she's beautiful, and she's kind, and her only motivation in the whole movie is this vague desire to cure the curse, but even then she doesn't work on it much at all. her life before howl is about being buffeted around like a leaf in the wind, and her life after howl is about being buffeted around like a cow in a twister. sophie in the movie is a blank slate. she is insecure about her looks (seriously, they couldn't even give her like a crooked nose or something, only doll-faced, thin, pale women over here), and her confessing this and crying about it for about four seconds was the first truly deep emotional response i had seen of her. i cried when she cried, who doesn't grapple with feelings of inadequacy? then the kid came out and she was like, okay, i'm done being upset now :)
second of all, howl is a little eccentric, but mostly he's just a glorious gentleman who has a messy room and one (1) overly dramatic depressive episode. it was disturbing to me as a viewer because it was violent and came out of nowhere, and it never comes back again lmao. it was so bizarre, he's introduced as this suave, debonair man in a cape, and he stays that way the entire movie, except for a weird moment in the middle where he screams at sophie naked and then lists the character flaws that we the viewers have never witnessed. why does he like sophie? why does sophie like him?
why did they turn michael into a child? i just don't see what that added to the story lmao. i get them taking out the complexity of secrets involving sophie's decidedly interchangeable sisters and their mystery beaus, it's a lot to fit into a little movie; but like, why did they turn him into a child though lmao
there's a lot of fatphobia in the movie too.
the change that upset me the most, though, was that the element of sophie having the ability to influence things without her knowledge was totally abandoned. like i said, things just sort of happen to her. in the book, her hats are the most lovely because she's inadvertently cast spells on them to make whoever wears them seem alluring or mysterious to people. the witch curses her because she recognizes these little spells and believes sophie's trying and failing to trick her (and also because sophie snaps at her lmao, why is movie sophie only an asshole when she's old? leave my daughter alone).
book sophie unknowingly protects howl by worrying over his cape (which she previously shredded because she got mad at him, i love her), she unknowingly enchants the scarecrow by helping it stand and complimenting it. she does that the entire book. she also starts the book already feeling sort of dull and trapped, and spends the story trying desperately to solve mysteries and protect loved ones. movie sophie doesn't like, sit around and knit demurely, don't get me wrong; but all the major plot points are things that howl makes happen to her lol.
i think the scarecrow is an excellent representation of book sophie's inner struggles. it's something she inadvertently enchanted, and she doesn't understand it, so she runs from it. she's terrified of the thing. in that way it kind of stands in for her own agency: only when she was forcibly in disguise did she feel free to find out what she wants her life to look like, and that kind of power is foreign and frightening to her. i loved that for her.
and very late in the book, howl reveals that he knew all along she was under a spell, that he tried to get rid of it out of curiosity (book howl doesn't seem to notice that he's just as imperious and nosy as sophie is), but she resisted it. he couldn't get the spell off. so he assumed she wanted to stay that way and let her be about it. so basically it's very huck finn on the raft, she realizes that in running to get away, she was already away. she had that agency all along.
all of that was missing from movie sophie. the idea of her inadvertently hanging on to the curse is still there, we see that she sort of fades back to her young self while she's asleep (not the case in the book, we know this because howl doesn't know what she looks like until she turns back in the end); but she doesn't seem to gain any knowledge about herself because of this. the only time she seems to have any personal drive, it's to learn about and help howl. her inner struggles are about howl. and i hated movie howl lmao, i hated his design and i hated his voice and i hated how like, patronizing he was to everyone around him. book howl was a condescending dick at times and just weird and distant at others, but he never came across like he was absolutely positive he was seducing sophie at any given moment. it was clear that he was the star of the movie and sophie was just the audience stand in to be like 🤩🥸🧐
the scarecrow who is a prince was the most hilariously egregious moment in the entire movie. in the book, the missing prince is introduced as a plot in the beginning and is referenced repeatedly throughout. and he's a major player in the climax. in the movie, it's the last like five minutes of the film and the scarecrow turns into a dapper boy with bread for hair and is like, "you've cured me! i'm a prince who went missing from a nearby kingdom and i was cursed but now i'm free." and i was like NICE, so we just found out there's a nearby kingdom that has a prince who's been missing. love that for us
the book had a lot of themes that i don't often encounter in fantasy novels - themes of female agency, of disguise, and of chaos. the chaos is my favorite part, every chapter is equally chaotic at various levels. you'll have michael fretting over some spell, sophie fretting over her own spell, howl trying to get someone in disguise to fall in love with him, THAT someone pining over michael, and all the while sophie and howl are bickering because she is cleaning (it seems like she cleans to clean up her mind) and he doesnt want her to (he is afraid of change and of reality), and he needs a huge favor of her, and she needs to wheedle out of it, and she promised calcifer she would free him, and calcifer is repeatedly promising to die of not being appreciated enough, and everybody is having three arguments at once. it's like that in every chapter, culminating in the moment howl and sophie realize they're in love, and they stand clasping hands and sort of smiling at each other in the middle of a room full of panicking and perplexed people just yelling over each other lmfao. surrounded by chaos and no longer thrown by it, rooted there in the middle of it, stabilizing each other in a way. i loved that. i actually flipped back a few pages so i could read that moment again.
and it seemed to me that the movie tried to imply that with visual chaos, but everything else was really quite linear and simple. everything was very airy. and since the conflama and the general atmosphere and character dynamics of the book is what made me fall in love with it, the movie didn't work for me.
tumblr user door pointed out that the book and the movie are extremely different and she appreciates them both as separate entities, and she's wise and correct; i knew this and i tried so hard to engage with the movie on its own terms. but i couldn't divorce them in my mind. i felt the same way about ella enchanted and practical magic. i cant stop thinking like, i wish they hadn't gotten rid of x, i wish they hadn't added this weird element of y.
also it was boring. i checked to see how much more was left three times. sorry. i can't express enough how little i cared about the plot with the witch and somebody's secretly evil boss and time traveling to yell at howl or something, because i didn't connect with the characters. and the feathers growing out of howl triggered my weird phobia about things being embedded in skin. i'm skeeved just remembering it.
anyway, yeah. the movie was beautifully animated and whatever atmosphere they were going for was pretty consistent throughout. oh and i LOVED calcifer. he was my favorite in both the book and the movie. in fact, he was the only character in the movie who they didn't really change, he was petty and bitchy in both versions. i loved him. he's like, "SHE FED ME SOMETHING YUCKY" my perfect, horrible boy.
oh and. book sophie was a redhead. that's all.
after i finished the book i tried to draw how imagined them:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
couldn't finish it though, i wasn't super jazzed about how it was coming out.
she's sitting in like, a window well altering a coat of his without permission. and he's like, i guess i'll have to wear this one instead, and she's like, i guess you will

Tales of Graces F Playthrough Thoughts Pt.2
Tumblr media
Under the cut, as usual!
-Firstly, I love and adore Malik and would give my life for him, he's totally precious. Dumb, soft, dad vibes.
Tumblr media
-Asbel is so ridiculously emo, like I feel bad for him but I kinda wanna pick on him too (affectionate). Also like everyone hates this dude. Like I get what he did hurt a lot of people and they don't have to forgive him but Cheria has been so insensitive and Hubert is so cruel now that it's almost a little comical.
Tumblr media
-Sophie is precious as always, I wanna give her a big hug. She continues to be my favorite, I want nothing but love and support and happiness for her.
-I really love how much Asbel has been treating Sophie like she's his child or little sister or something. The dynamic is definitely different than all those years ago but it's clear he still cares about her very much, even if he's uncertain if she's really the same Sophie. -And on that note... seriously guys? Like, I know it was years ago so maybe they can't picture her perfectly but how many other girls with purple pigtails, amnesia, super strength, and clothes that make her look like she came from space are hanging around the meadow? Who else could it possibly be? (now watch me be wrong somehow lol) -Despite how she treats Asbel rn I still like Cheria. I heard they get married eventually?? I think they're a little bit cute, I'm rooting for them!
Tumblr media
-Richard.... good lord, I am so in love with this man. His appearance, his personality, his voice. But he, on the other hand, seems to be in in love with (or at least quite obsessed with) Asbel, especially since he has now saved his life twice. He won't stop telling him how happy he is to see him, how he's the only person in the world that he trusts, how Asbel was able to make him laugh for the first time in a long time, how when he was in danger again this time he wished Asbel would somehow show up to rescue him again (despite not seeing him for 7 years), and saying things like "I know you, you [would/wouldn't] do something like that" as though the two of them hadn't only hung out for a collective few hours 7 years ago lol. He seems like a very lonely and untrusting man so I can understand how their brief friendship really impacted him all this time.
Tumblr media
-Pascal... DO NOT LIKE. The way she treats Sophie makes me very uncomfortable, especially when Sophie is always cowering behind Asbel because she's so scared of being touched by her. I know she's just excited about her research (though she also implied that she thought Sophie had a crush on Richard and that that made Richard her rival so idk...) but I still feel really bad for Sophie. I really wish I could like her because her personality reminds me of Magilou who I love and adore but ehhhh 😬 I dunno, maybe I'm too sensitive or maybe I love Sophie too much or something but I don't find this running gag to be funny or charming. If they don't keep this going the whole game and she eventually drops it I'll probably like her a lot more since I think she's funny in the very few moments where she's not doing that and her design is my favorite so far.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Now on to the big thing... what the FUCK is going on with Sophie?? Her image in that weird machine??? Richard acting strange/afraid when he's around her? The black smoke things that happened when he touched his hand before? Both of their chests hurting in those catacombs? And then of course... her coming back to life in the same place she was originally found and at the same age she was when she died but... somehow with amnesia again??? I don't really care much about the main plot with the war and all that, I'm just dying to know what the heck is going on with these two. -And lastly, if one more person (Asbel... we know I mean Asbel...) says something about protecting someone or the words "7 years ago" I think I might go berserk and trash the city.
