being an adult means we can buy or make as much self-indulgent shit (as we can afford) and unironically have trinkets of our fave things cause our teen years was bullied for liking things and hiding/denying we were ever neurodivergent to the point of suicide. sucks for anyone that thinks its weird cringe but I'm going to try and allow myself to love myself in little ways now

#wish i could tell younger me that i wasnt fucked up i was just autistic #even if youre not nd i still think having things you enjoy around you is important especially for your space #so i make a notable effort to get fandom stuff for my younger siblings now #like my lil sister thinks getting demon slayer stuff is cringe cause anime and what not (havent read it sorry)#but her face still lights up when i get her a pin for her #or a blind bag with a character keychain #and very slowly the self hatred and whatever it feels like that youre not allowed to like anything and that anything you like is bad #starts to diminish #my qpp is obsessed with birds and chickens and has so many trinkets around the house for it #or my friend who loves how pretty stained glass looks that his walls are covered in thrifted stain glass pieces #i know an elderly couple who are obsessed with star trek and they have a room in the house purely for shelves stacked with collectables #my friend's dad is so obsessed with spiderman that he has 3 walls full of figurines and posters and collectables that prob amoutn to tons #like i dont get it but i get it #maybe its because im sick rn but im in my head tonight about human loving things and stories and cocepts to the point of comfort #sara shush #ramble

call me a hater of the state of modern anime or whatever but i think hikaru ga shinda natsu does not need an anime and now that its going to get one i am betting on it sucking cos i trust no current anime director to know how to adapt it properly and adaptations nowadays are 1 on 1 to the manga instead of trying to understand the appeal and the meaning and what the page or the panel is trying to convey and translating that in a new media because paper and tv are not the same media at all and need different shots. May just be me tho.

#sorry i hate most adaptations of anything nowadays #like even dunmeshi whch im enjoying and having fun with i wouldnt say its a very good anime adaptation but at least it isnt terrible #the frieren adaptation was the best ive seen lately ithink #sorry i just think that theyve forgotten that adapting something to a different media means translating it and not copying it directly #and ik the anime industry is a fucking shit whole rn and it shows throguh this too #like no i dont need sakuga every 3 episodes if you know how to direct your show man idk #anime fans keep going crazy about scenes with so much money put into it whre none of the money even went to the animator that spent 2 weeks #with no sleep to animate your beloved anime character in a fght scene that is close to nauseating but sure its cool!#but what does it add. apart from it being cool. like sure being cool is smth to add but sometimes............u dont needit

been thinking about the liyue gang and how id draw their physical builds so here are some thoughts i had for xy cy and gm in particular

- xingqiu, unsurprisingly, would be quite lanky. i like to think he has broad-ish shoulders, like a thin athlete's build? hes a long boy to me haha, long face, neck, limbs, fingers etc, so naturally hes stands (comparatively) tall at 5'6" or 5'7"

i like to think hes most physically attractive one and has that handsome princely and boyish charm to him because it adds a lot to his fuckass duality LOL

- chongyun is a lot like xiao imo! short stature but with muscular arms. he seems nimble and flexible because of his normal attack animations (which bears a lot of similarities to xiao's actually! this + the fact that chongyun's normal attacks create gusts of wind further reinforces my hc that xiao trains him). sometimes i watch high energy choreography vids on youtube and some dancers look incredibly light on their feet, almost like their body is inherently bouncy? and i imagine chongyun to have that agility to him. chongyun has a delicate face and aura and i let that bleed into my hcs for his fighting style and physical capabilities hahaha. hes kind of like a cat who's deceptively strong. as for height.. just a few inches taller than xiao, so perceptibly short at 5'4"

- ga ming my new beloved. pretty much similar to chongyun but more muscular and stronger just because he wields his claymore with ease. theres a noticeable weight different between cy and his claymore the way he lugs it up after he swings (or even other claymore users like razor who, on his last hit, bounces from impact). meanwhile ga ming literally slams his to the ground LOL. i love his movements though hes very swift and expressive and radiant.. if cy has delicate movements then ga ming's is fierce and (charmingly!) assertive

ga ming is wonderfully charismatic though, i know hes not well known in liyue harbor yet, but he seems like the type to gain a reputation from his friendliness. how could no one adore him hahaha. 5'5" for height! just between xy and xq

#tangy talks genshin #chongyun gets analyzed most my bad #this was super fun though #while thoughtful ; genshin chara designs will always look distinctly gacha and flashy so a lot of the designs kinda blur together in my hea #this is why i really like looking into their animations particuarly their normal attacks #i think it conveys their personalities really well! it's always something to look forward to when new characters release #i gravitate towards swords polearms and claymores most though because i like the act of swinging and slashing hah. it also requires a lot o #body movement and reflects a lot of irl martial arts fencing and other combat techniques #sword users are always really fun to watch because theyre inherently graceful hahah. i will admit it gets kinda repetitive #i think my favorite NA animation has to be albedo's.. very simple clean and refined. he stands elegantly and puts his arm behind his back o #his 2nd attack which ive been transfixed by since be first came out in 2020 LOL. i love albebo #wow these tags are long as hell #but anyway i actually have more thoughts on xq's physical appearance but its just me rambling about how i think hes funny as fuck #im a proponent of dashingly pretty princely xingqiu not necessarily because i want to bestow upon him desirable traits #but because i think its funny knowing hes just a bit of a loser under all that #hes well known (mr worldwide one might say) and the heir to a prestigious guild and chivalrous talented and prolific #but he writes self insert novels hates carrots had bad handwriting sings really bad #hes just a teenage boy #as always i will 100% have more to say about chongyun but ill save that for another post #ga ming on the other hand.. i dont have anything substantial to say but hes super fun to think about #hes such a likable character #wow these tags are LONG as fuck ill stop now.

i still cannot believe dabi actually showed up in this lil white number like he is such a theatre kid

like genuinely got himself all dressed up for this fight and kept the belt—because of course he did, because the belt is iconic, the belt has come with him throughout all three of his outfit changes—and showed up looking sexy as hell to what he was essentially intending to be his own funeral.

he definitely has a flare for the dramatic!!!

#also i know people are all up in arms over this one shot and how awful it looks compared to the manga and i’d just like to ask #where the heck u people have been for seasons 3-5 #where dabi was consistently drawn SO funky looking #we are LUCKY they did him so well in the touya reveal #and also;;; i don’t think it’s fair to judge this entire scene based on this single image #but yeah bones drawing dabi to look mediocre at best is not anything new or surprising #i genuinely hope they DONT do it in this fight #but i won’t be surprised if they do #they’ll never compare to how beautifully hori draws *any* of his characters #they also just can’t fit the detail into the anime #but anyway~ yeah #saw this and this was my first thought HAHAHA #clari chatters #inky.dabi #inky.bnha

i love it when gay people are hicks . life mission of mine is to rep for the gay people who are not from cities and dont dress like it or talk like it and who don't plan to leave wherever small place they're from to be in a city, however easier it would be . i think even we think of our community as being city-based, and those of us out on the fringes get sort of forgotten unless we relocate, but we're out here! surrounded by corn tassels! looking for morels! a good 50% of us ecology people! dropping our consonants and wearing our barn boots and never seeing a gay bar ever come to our town but staying for the forest or the prairie or the desert anyway! yeehaw i love gay people

#sometimes i get so lonely thinking how hard it is to date out here . and stay out here #i mean im not gonna lie its slim pickins. most of the gay ppl i know in town are already in relationships and not looking to expand #and those that arent i dont know about because they're all closeted. so am i to an extent . i dont flag very loudly or anything #sometimes i think maybe life would be easier surrounded by people all the time. where subcultures are bigger #where visibly flagging as 'subculture' wouldn't be so stressful but the community would also be big enough that if you didnt flag.#you wouldn't miss out on anything for lack of being noticed #but then i remember mary oliver . and im like well mary oliver would not think you have to move to the city to be gay #mary oliver would just sit around on the porch watching the deer. while gay #mary oliver would encourage me to simply notice more animals

I love indie animation as much as the next person but hell.

I miss when people talked about and appreciated the craft as a whole (from daily shorts on yt/newgrounds, to storytime animators, to student films, to some 10 minute pilot some kid made for $100 bucks tops on mspaint) and didn't just limit the conversation to the same five budgeted series that have the same close connections. It's ironic as much as it is a bit frustrating.

#animation #indie animation #if u know u know #that isnt to say i dislike those series #im just frustrated with how things are starting to feel limited and exclusive #and fans often rely on fandom interests in terms of what they support/hold as “pioneers” or a new idea of what minimal qualities should be #like those series are admirable and deserve their praise #but now everyone thinks u need big kickstarters and industry quality preproduction and a 30 minute pilot for proof of concept #and the ones that i see that dont follow that and have the same quality as old Cartoon Network pilots -funny enough- get glossed over #dont get it twisted; i aint suggesting indie animation is getting monoplized or anything #its just a lil discouraging #“indie *industry*” hahaha oh no..

The choice from Sunday is kinda weird cuz the options are build a cage in the house for the bird or build a nest where it fell and one leads to the bird growing up but dying once its set free and the other one probably leads to it dying much sooner. They both feel like the same option and even tho obviously the most kind, caring, morally right thing to do is keep it inside so at least it lives longer even if it's in a cage. But like to me both options suck and are basically nothing cuz I'm sorry if I look like a bad person for this, but I'm not sorry, but I'm not fuckin touching a wild animal. Even if I knew it was there even if I bothered to check out the sound to find a bird, which I wouldn't, I'm not touching it. I'm not even getting close enough to find out it's too young to fly yet. Whatever happens to it happens man and I'll never know what happens to it cuz I'm not even gonna look at it. Like, where's the 'you seem like an asshole but really it's quite a normal choice' in this whole trial thing??? That's usually an option you can pick. Sunday!!! Sunday, listen!!! There are more than two choices!!! You don't have to always do something!!!! You can just walk away!!! You don't have to try to do something for everyone all the time!!! Think about yourself sometimes!!! It's not selfish I promise!!! SUNDAY!!! OH MY GOD HIS WINGS ARE COVERING HIS EARS HE CANT HEAR US!!!!
